Comment: This particular AAMCO was the cleanest and most organized I’ve been to. With a AAMCO lifetime warranty on my car since 1988, the warranty requires a ‘free’ inspection each year to remain valid so I’ve been to many all over the country in the following years getting this requirement done wherever I was. They have a neat very clean waiting area with coffee. Restroom is likewise spotless which really helps. Service was very friendly.

Comment: Good morning Ron, I just left the shop a few minutes ago. I just have to tell you that I dont plan on returning. I made the effort to bring in the van 2 days in a row to find out about the noise its making on a cold start. Yesterday i came in at opening, 8 am and because i had to drive it there the noise had gone away because of the motor being warm. I tried to let them hear recordings of it but that didnt help. So then I asked if I could bring it in today and Memo said yes. So I got off work last night and drove the van to the shop and stayed in it overnight so that they could finally listen to the problem in person and get a good idea of whats going on. So he tells one guy to go out and listen and I asked if one other guy ( the guy who tried to listen to it yesterday) could also come so that at least 2 instead of 1 guy can hear the noise. I started the engine and they heard it for themselves. They put the van on the lift and still could not even try to determine what it is. 1 guy was saying that it needs to be continuous and that they cant do anything if isnt continuous. Bottom line, I made the effort for them to finally hear the problem in person and it seems as if my business isnt important to them. While they were in the process of having the van on the lift another customer comes in and Memo told him that theres 1 car ahead of him but that it wouldnt be long before even getting word of anything from his guys concerning my van. Its as if he already had it in his mind that he wasnt planning on helping me to begin. To make matters worse, after they brought the van down from the lift and parked it in front, I go back in the office to see what we should do from there and immediately he steps into the work area and goes and chats and laughs with the workers for at least 5 minutes while Im just standing there! I just dont think that is how you treat a customer that just had almost $1,500 with of work done and all hes doing to us trying to find and do business with a trustworthy auto repair shop. I just felt like my business isnt important to them and embarrassed when I left. I guess I will have to find a new repair shop that takes returning customers seriously because I really feel like Memo and his crew did not do that with me.

Comment: Long story short, they screwed up on so many levels, I cant believe they can get away with this. I got my car back in worse condition than when I brought it to them. They cant even put a tire on correctly.I first brought my car in due to noises and acceleration issues it made when the transmission was engaging or shifting gears.  They did a full inspection and told me the noises and acceleration issues are from worn u-joints and support bearings that needed to be replaced, and that they couldnt find anything else wrong. I was quoted with a $1300 repair that would only take a day.I agreed to it, and somehow it took over a week. I called every couple days and each time, the excuse was that their parts supplier kept bringing wrong or defective parts...  When it was finally done over a week later, I went to pick it up and there was a puddle of fluid under my car in the parking lot. I assumed it was from some other car that might have been parked there before... I also noticed one of the plastic panels from under my car was sticking out a bit, but I figured theres no need to bring up a small issue like that...I pay and get in my car to leave and notice that the clock was way off and my radio station presests were all gone (that means they disconnected the battery at some point, and didnt bother to set anything back).Right when I leave and get into the street, the car starts making a weird whining noise. But because it was a busy street, I had to turn and go elsewhere to make sure the sound wasnt from one of the other cars around me. It WAS coming from my car, but it went away after a couple minutes. Also, they were closing so I couldnt go back to get it checked that day, plus, i had to catch up on a lot of errands.While running errands, the plastic panel that they didnt properly screw back under my car partially came off and started scraping loudly on the road. I had to stop somewhere to get zip ties and temporarily put it back and away from the ground (so now the panel is ripped, scraped up, and zip tied in a weird position).While zip tying the panel underneath the bumper, I noticed another puddle that looked like oil. It turned out to be transfer case fluid, you can tell because it smells like rotten eggs.I brought it back the next morning, and they tell me theyd have to keep it for a day to look into the leak and that new odd whining noise coming from my car.They determined the problems have nothing to do with the work they did. They said the new noise and leak is coming from the transfer case, which just happens to connect directly to the parts they replaced... They said they didnt touch it, yet somehow inspected it the first time without touching it, and there was nothing wrong with it... they later admitted to opening it up to top off the fluid, but still claim nothing they did caused it to start leaking or making new noises...So, they have a shitty supplier of parts... But also, they cant diagnose the problem on inspection, they just throw parts at the problem (guess who pays for that?). Then, they refuse to take responsibility or even acknowledge when the work they fucked up on creates more problems... And thats not even the end of it.I get home and discover later the next day that one of the lug nuts on my front right tire was so loose, it came off with 3 turns by hand, no tools. WTF!?!Also, the initial issues that I brought it in for  never went away. Also, theres grease stains on the edge of the carpet and doorsill (I just had my carpet cleaned and shampooed less than 2 weeks 2 before taking it to them).

Me being a senior citizen and a woman by herself I was treated with respect and kindness and Memo explained everything to me where I could understand completely what to do next checkup which I appreciate that AAMCO has been a company that has been around for years that should tell you their company name speaks for itself. I looked online for causes of my issue (Blinking Drive light) and slipping. I decided to have AAMCO diagnose & they were able to replace a gear sensor for less than $700! Talk about a savings. The manager Memo even gave me an additional military discount & my truck runs great!

Comment: Memo and team helped me out of a pickle when no one else would.I recently had my transmission rebuilt by a different AAMCO in another state. I paid quite a lot of money and bought the full warranty. The experience was very poor and I wasn’t happy with the results, but I didn’t have much I could do.After moving to CA shortly after, the transmission began developing problems. I needed to get the vehicle serviced, but other AAMCO’s by me weren’t interested in servicing another shop’s warranty. They didn’t flat out say ‘no” but no one would take it..Memo in CV however, took on my case. It took a while to get to the cause of my issue (it was a bad low gear sprag that caused the vehicle to dangerously lose its drive function at low speeds, like when crossing an intersection). And while the other shop should have provided the parts necessary when asked during Memo’s warranty work, they didn’t, but Memo carried on and eventually got me back up and running so I could take my family to school again.The work was significant. The warranty covered me 100% and though it took some time to sort out, I didn’t have to pay a dime out of pocket which was important to me at the time.I really appreciate what Memo and team were able to do for me. So far the trans has been running well, and I have peace of mind that my car will continue to be covered for the remainder of my warranty.

I have called this shop 6-8 times and the manager, Memo, has always been amazing with discussing potential problems, scheduling a free estimate, and following through with a breakdown of issues and costs. Comment: I dropped my car off on a Thursday morning for minor inconsistent grinding noise. I was told itd be ready for pick up that afternoon. I did not receive a call or an email saying the shop was busy and would not be able to tend to my car that day. I called Friday morning to ask what was up with my car. They said that were busy, thats understandable, Friday around closing time still no follow up from AAMCO about the status of my vehicle. They are closed on weekends. I had to wait until Monday to see whats the status. They called and emailed me an outrageous price for parts, more than double retail from any auto parts store. It was in total for just parts around $1200. I bought the parts on my own for under $500. Again, I took my car in for a minor inconsistent grinding noise, nothing else. Upon picking up my car and barely getting down the street it began overheating, which it has never done. I park and get out to check it and it is leaking antifreeze, and not just drops here and there, its a full stream. I have an older car and I keep a close eye on anything like that. My car did not have a leak prior to being at AAMCO for nearly 5 days. When I explained this to them they said the leak was there when it came in and thats how a water pump goes out. I took it to 2 mechanics, they both said it would not be a constant stream like that and that thats weird that it happened after a weekend. I also guess they forget that if a door is open sound can still travel through it. I heard the desk guy, Memo tell a mech, this guy doesnt know anything about cars show him the water pump. Dont let the smiles at the front door entice you. Also I just detailed my interior and there are some black stains on the interior of the roof of my car. I do not work anywhere near any dusty or dirty things that could stain my upholstery, also theres some weird film on my windshield now from I dont know where. So not only do they not respect the customer, they do not respect the vehicle as well. Save your time and money and go somewhere else. If I could give 0 stars I would. One of my worst experiences with a mechanic ever. Again, do not let the good customer service fool you. Anyone can smile for 5 minutes while charging you $3000.Update: My car was fixed at another shop for less than half the price. Apparently my timing belt miraculously slipped over the course of a weekend at AAMCO. Please go to any other shop for your repairs.

Comment: Held my vehicle for a week plus without ordering a part or attempting to fixing the actual problem. They were supposed to call Silver Rock (policy agency) and file a claim to get my repair done. I contacted the repair man nearly everyday asking if he had filed the claim and was told yes and that he was waiting on Silver Rock to approve it.I then contacted Silver Rock on three separate occasions to see if the claim had been filed with them and it hadn’t.Finally, I arranged a three way phone call with Silver Rock and the AAMCO Manager, during which, Silver Rock informed the AAMCO Manager that no claim had been filed at all. The AAMCO manager persistently maintained that he filed the claim but had no claim number to show for it. I had to stay on the three way call for an hour plus to make sure the AAMCO manager properly filed the claim with Silver Rock and could order the part I needed and commence the repair. After the repair was completed, the original noise in the engine that brought me to the repair shop was still there. They didn’t even fix my issue.They then told me after the fact that they found a service bulletin that applied to my vehicle and that was the reason my vehicle was making the loud noise. However, upon inspection of the service bulletin I found that it did not even apply to my make and model, they merely provided it to get me out of the way.This was the worst car repair experience I’ve ever had in my entire life. I have been turned off from all AAMCOs in the future, never again.Update 04Oct2022: Just had a certified Honda dealership take a look at my vehicle the week after AAMCO said that they replaced the muffler and Honda is reporting that the muffler was not changed at all. Something bad is going on here…

Comment: I’m raiting this Ammco shop a 1 star because I had problems with my car and explained to them what was the problem they convinced me that they will have my car fixed and all problems will be handled they charged me 958$for the issue plus an oil change,, they convinced me to leave my car with them and the problem will be solved in no time. A day later I got my car back after paying 958$and now had to take it back because the job was not done. They tried to explain to me it was a defected part and now I’m sitting here waiting on my car again as a worker said it will be put on the on ramp I called and all the guy had to say was “the micanic is on lunch” point of my raiting is they lag on the job and over charge for something that didn’t even get fixed the right way the first time.

An assessment was to be done and I would learn by phone what the recommendation would be. Knowing I was working with a short window of working days to get back on the road, Joe found a refurbished transmission and had the old transmission removed. I felt backed into a corner as clear, written agreements were lacking. Ron, the owner became involved and proved the needed taped conversations for clarity. In the end, I believe this business to be fair and ethical. I suggested the experience be used as an opportunity for improved written consent. Comment: I used this Aamco to do major repairs including rebuild a transmission on my 2014 Fiat. They also replaced the battery on said vehicle. AKA I spent almost $3k total. When Aamco replaced the battery they did not reset the computer sensors and I can not get it to pass smog. When I called this location.. who did my repairs.. the minute I said my car won’t pass smog the guy on the other end said “I can’t touch your car if someone else smogged it. I can get fined” This is the second time I have called this guy and he said the words “ I can’t” When I discussed this with another repair facility they said the guy was blowing smoke and sounded like he didn’t want to repair their mistake. I was super impressed with Jeff when he worked there but this new guy doesn’t seem to want to help. Not good for new and returning customers.

I figured they should know transmissions even for a German car. Not only did they do a Fantastic job but it wasn’t the transmission…it was the brakes. Much Cheaper!! Customer service was excellent. Everything they said they would do…they did. A complete diagnosis which was extremely thorough. I had the opportunity to talk to Joe for awhile. He Really knows cars and what he’s talking about. He sounded competent to me, so I decided to go with him. Im a roofing company, so getting back on the road quickly was very important to me. Joe checked it out, said I needed a complete rebuild. I gave my approval, and had my truck back in 3 days. I had a slight problem with vibration, called Joe about it, brought it in to have it checked. Turned out to be just a slight alignment problem with a clamp, was back on the road in 20 minutes. Truck is working great, no problems at all. In all, the price was fair, with a good warranty, service was excellent, and I am a happy customer and would not hesitate to refer anyone to them.

Comment: I went in to get the transmission checked because I had a code for shift solenoid stuck. I made an appointment to go on Friday and they said nothing was wrong and that I should go back Monday for a further inspection. On Monday, I took the car in and they said I need new ignition coils and spark plugs. Mind you I had changed the spark plugs with iridium about a month and a half prior to my visit to this shop, But since I had an oil leak fixed from gasket valve covers I assumed maybe the spark plugs got damaged. I got charged $741 for labor and parts. The problem with this is that I got charged $24 per spark plug when the highest quality cost no more than $15, also, I got charged $430 for 6 ignition coils that originally cost $230. Then when I asked about it Ron said it was because they have training and they warranty the parts. Overall, they do good work, but overcharge for parts. I recommend buying your own parts somewhere else and having this shop just install them. This way they warranty the installation and the store you bought the parts from warranty the parts. It is better than paying almost double for parts from this shop.

Comment: I brought my truck into this place Friday morning at 8am because Ron, the owner, said it would take a day for them to replace my clutch. When I left it there, Joe, the customer service manager, told me that it would actually be Tuesday before they could get it back to me, which already worried me a bit, but seemed more realistic so I went with it. They were supposed to call me that day after checking it out and test driving it a bit, but I had to call them on Saturday to get an actual quote just to hear they hadnt even looked at it yet and only briefly drove it around. They gave me a quote anyway and Ron again said it would be done on Monday. I never heard from them Monday. Tuesday afternoon rolls around, and I called them in the morning. They told me they were working on it and it was in bay 5. I was in the neighborhood and stopped by that afternoon, hoping they were close to finishing, only to walk up and see my truck in the exact spot I left it in when I dropped it off on Friday. At this point I just needed my truck back, so I asked for it back, and Joe asked if I was going to pay him for the work that has been done. But I just said, What work? and when he couldnt answer me he just gave me my keys back and I said thanks and left. He tried to tell me they had installed a cracked flywheel and needed to change it out, but then immediately changed his story and said it was chattering but not cracked. I do know they at least drove it because they didnt put my parking break back on.Seriously guys, if you had just been honest with me about the timeline and any work in addition to the clutch replacement that needed to be done, it would have been fine. I was willing to be patient for good work, but I dont appreciate getting jerked around.

Had my BMW 435 break down and brought it to AAMCO as it was a listed under my warranty’s recommended service provider.It turned out to to be a fuel pump failure in addition to gummed up intake and fuel injectors.The mechanics were very professional and did everything they could to get my warranty company ( who are very difficult to work with from what I recently learned) to cover the cost of the repair. Comment: Not too happy with the work done on my 2006 dodge 3500. Came in with transmission hunting between 1st and 2nd. Left with it hunting between 2nd and 3rd. Brought it back immediately after the weekend, they tell me the 48re needs to learn my driving style. Theyvrecommended I drive it for a week. A quick Google search shows the 48re is not an adaptive learning transmission. Brought it back the next week, they finally fixed it.Additionally, they delayed giving my truck back to me because the shifter would occasionally not indicate it is in park. The truck would be fully in park, but the indicator light sometimes indicated it was still in reverse. They replaced the shifter cable, and another shifter related part on the transmission. The boot on the column shifter now will not stay attached to the column. The truck now indicates it is in reverse more often than it did before.Additionally (yes, again), they claimed to have replaced my transmission cooler with a bigger upgraded cooler. They clearly did not do this, as there was a socket wrench wedged underneath the transmission cooler. The wrench did not come from them, it was very old. Likely was there when I bought the truck 2 years ago. The problem is that they lied to me, and I only discovered this when the wrench rubbed a hole through my radiator and it started leaking. I discovered a very very dirty and very very old transmission cooler wedging the wrench between itself and the front frame section. I returned to them and asked you said you replaced my transmission cooler, right to which I was told yep, we sure did. The technician came out and checked and saw the wrench in the radiator. Technician goes inside and asks the service manager did we replace that transmission cooler? to which the service manager replied yep, we sure did. The service manager then quoted me $700 to replace the radiator, claiming he would give me a discount since I was a repeat customer. He stated a new radiator costs $450. Again, a quick google search shows a new radiator from Rockauto.com is $127. A new radiator from Autozone is $250. Needless to say, I did not allow them to replace my radiator.

Comment: I was in town for a few weeks working. I was in search for I shop to perform my 30,000 mile maintenance for my Lexus RC 350. What I can say about this fine establishment is, they were reasonably quick and thorough, very friendly and down to earth, and they did not try to up charge me because I drive an expensive car. I was accurately quoted before I came in and when I left, I ended up paying significantly less than what I would have at the Lexus dealership. Its a glorified Toyota for heaven sake. Thanks guys!!

Comment: Perfect is the best way to describe these guys, this place, and the manner in which they handle their business. They have no hidden agenda like so many other mechanics do where they try to sell you useless junk your car doesnt need. Dealership diagnosed my truck with a failed torque converter and wanted to charge for a transmission replacement totaling more than 6000 dollars. This awesome group of guys determined that was a lie in about an hour and fixed the actual issue while also providing me with education on component structure and functions to stay away from businesses trying to steal from me. Overall the most incredible experience I have ever had with any mechanic shop anywhere. Will for sure be coming back for anything my car will ever need to this spot and this spot only.

Comment: I scheduled an appointment with them for a transmission bench rebuild for one of my own customers. Dropped off the transmission and it was rebuilt and they got it done in about a day and a half and price ended up being just about what they estimated as well. Installed the transmission and test drove the vehicle for a long trip and had zero issues, no leaks and it shifts smooth in and out of all gears. Joe was very professional and I will be using them in the future!

Comment: I have been meaning to post this, this review is long over due.My experience was amazing! My check engine light came on, the code said it was a transmission issue. I came to AAMCO with all the stress in the world weighing on my shoulders but Justice helped me out a lot, helping me with the best advice. Asking the technicians what was the best route for me to go. In the end I had to get my transmission replaced. Brooks called me, I told him my situation and he looked up the best quotes for me and got me a great deal and a good warranty. I was approved for financing was able to get my car back and back on the road. I am so happy and appreciate all the help that was given to me. When I got my car back I cried tears of joy on my way home. I was so scared that I wasnt going to be able to afford to fix my car. Having 3 kids and work I depend on my car very much. Comment: I am really impressed with AAMCO.I was recommended AAMCO as a transmission specialist by my general mechanic because he was under the impression I needed a new transmission. I showed up pretty nervous and not totally sure I was ready to put out $3,000 for a new transmission. I spoke primarily to Justice and he explained that they would do a free diagnostic and not being work until theyd discussed it with me. This seems like pretty standard auto body behavior but I havent had a mechanic experience this clear cut in years. (You should allow a business day for confirmation of your appointment.)When I arrived for my appointment the service manager, Justice, listened to my concerns and explained that an initial evaluation of the vehicle would check all of the things I mentioned and more. So we decided to do the initial evaluation and an oil and filter change then talk about what the evaluation turned up. At that point I went away to shop until Justice called to give me a report. About two hours later Justice called to tell me the van was ready to pick up. The mechanic had found and fixed a minor problem in the shift mechanism, but everything else was fine. He did the oil change as requested. The entire visit took about four hours. I felt that Justice was very professional and knowledgeable and the mechanic was efficient. All in all, I was very satisfied with my experience and I will be returning to this AAMCO in the future.

Comment: Took my 1998 Volvo S90 with transmission issues. After consulting with different shops, I found the explanation of the process for determining what was wrong with the transmission very detail with this shop. They explained the process of each step and cost as they went along and felt comfortable with the transparency. I already knew that it was going to be a big expense and decided to have them do the work because I wanted the best for my car and money. As the process went on Jeff keep in touch explaining what was going, me having lots of mechanic experience understood is a process. Once the issue was pinpointed I knew they where having a reasonable diagnose because it coincided with previous work with another shop on the car the lead to the failure of the transmission so I felt I wasn’t being taken for a ride. As worked went along they kept me updated and was happy of their policy of getting the job down correctly. With older cars there’s issues as information is not readily available and I understood that. What I like was that they will not turn the car over to me until they where totally satisfied it was all resolved and guarantee the job for 18 months. I knew other of issues with the car and got them fix as well. I have drove the car less than a week and runs great. Will post in a few months if this still so. I happy i took my car there and totally recommend them as wherever you go is a big investment money wise so I wanted a place I could trust, that where honest and transparent. Thought was a great team working to get the job done right!Cheers!

He saw I was in need of help and fit me in, told me to leave the car and hed call with an update. My car was there for 2 days before I got a (ridiculous) estimate quote for repairs that would have cost more than my car is worth. I was getting a vibe that they really didnt want to work on fixing my car, probably because they suggested I take it back to the previous mechanic to give him a chance to fix his mistakes. When I went to pick up my car, the guy ahead of me was picking up his car and he didnt even turn his car on before he came right back in the office and said and I quote, Dude. My windows wont roll down now and my locks dont work either. I dont know what that situation was but from my point of view it was a little unsettling.

Comment: My husbands and my first time here and I immediately felt comfortable and like my car was in good hands. These people have great knowledge and they are honest. You wont get anything done you dont absolutely need. The place is clean and everyone is friendly. Tom was super nice and a little bit of a comedian =) He was also very helpful over the phone when initially setting up the appointment. They took my car out for a test drive and quickly zeroed in on what was causing the sound I came in for. Theres a clean comfortable waiting area with a Keurig and a few choices of coffee and real creamer & sugar. Plus a mini fridge with bottled water. Clean private bathroom too. Ill be back with any other auto needs in the future. Thanks guys.

Comment: I truly appreciate Dan, Jorge, Ian and the rest of the crew at this location. They are honest and straight forward. Dan and his crew has helped me Tremendously!!! I always leave with a sense of security, knowing my vehicle is good to go!! They are there to answer all of my questions even the off the wall ones lol Their customer service is Excellent!! I highly recommend this AMCO location for anyone who may have car issues. They do go far and beyond for their customers!!! I can go on and on, on how much they have assisted me and my car issues. THEY ARE AMAZING!!! When you stop by tell them Pauline sent you.... You wont get any discounts for mentioning my name but youll get free coffee =)

Comment: Phoned this Aamco about my Land Rover as my trans smelled burnt and was slipping. Other shops told me they wouldnt work on it because it was too complicated and a dealer only job. Spoke with Ian - got my truck dropped off on a tow truck - they had my truck in and out of the door within a week. Did a tune up while it was there too and even fixed a spongey brake pedal issue. Its never run or driven better - feels like a new truck! Ill be back for more service work as and when I need it and have finally found a shop whose work I can trust. 5*

Comment: I brought my 2008 Toyota Matrix to Aamco for routine service after many years of using Toyota for service, and I must say I was impressed by the personal level of service shown by Dan and his crew. I was greeted immediately, (no wait), and they spent a lot of time looking over my past records to see what has been done and what may be needed. After a lunch break, my car was ready, and the service was clearly thorough, as a number of needs were attended to, ie... tire rotation, without my calling it to their attention. I feel very confident they checked all the boxes and topped all the fluids and most importantly, the bill was very reasonable. Nice to have personalized service that is so lacking these days. I will be back!
