Comment: Ive got to agree with lth 44 to the letter and Ben Mc Donald. We had the exact same experience that they had. We rented some power amplifiers and they did not work. We ended up contacting the manufacture of the equipment (not the rental company ATE) for support. The equipment manufacture was nice enough to come out onsite and upon inspection found that we did not have all of the parts of the equipment to make it work. Furthermore once we were provided the missing parts to get the equipment to run, we found that the firmware of the equipment was not up to date and would not allow us to synch the two units we rented. That was the purpose of renting two units to synch them up and run them in series. Upon telling ATE this, they told us we would have to put in another order with them to get the right equipment that we needed in working condition for the test we wanted to run. We told them we wanted a refund and have yet to hear back on it. We will file a dispute with our credit card company. In my experience, I believe they are woefully underprepared to deal in a technical industry and offer technical equipment.

Comment: The worst equipment rental experience. I rented the advertised ground penetrating radar. They sent me a different unit than the unit advertised, and one which is no longer supported by the manufacturer. They manufacturer no longer had software to open the files, and the equipment manual they shipped with the unit was for a newer model. ATE’s support didn’t understand that I had a discontinued model and kept referring me to the manual for the new model. I demanded a refund and reimbursement for return shipping, which was $850 for FedEx freight. The stiffed me on shipping even though I had an email from ATE stating that all costs would be reimbursed. Because they dragged their heels with any type of reimbursement, I disputed the charge with my credit card bank. This company is reckless. Any entity that’s stiffs a customer for no reason and is brazen about deserves to fail.

I would look some place else for serviceUPDATE TO ATEC RESPONSE:I sent a unit in with failures, the cost of the repairs exceeded the cost of a brand new unit, however I was never given the choice to disregard any repairs and purchase a new one. Any customer would expect a complete evaluation prior to any repairs being performed especially in this case, I spend hundreds of dollars to have a unit sent back that I cant use. I have a half calibrated unit that needs an additional $1700 worth of repairs and you feel confident to stand behind that process? I stand by my review, take your business elsewhere

Comment: Ive used ATE Corp over the past 3 years and have rented electrical testing, fault locating, and thermal imagining equipment from $250 to $45,000. We put their equipment to work on commercial and utility projects, and ATE has always provided great support and worked with us from scope to completion. We had one instance with a FLIR-T640 failing battery in 2017 as we run equipment 8 hours min when commissioning. ATE provided a refund, and had alternate equipment that we could use the next day. Theyve come through on more then one occasion for next day pickup with rare equipment. I only work with trusted providers and vendors and theres a reason I rent specialty equipment from ATE.However, if for any reason you prefer a horrendous customer support experience and want costly rentals please contact Electrorent!

Comment: We had 2 metering projects for customers and rented equipment from ATEC. The equipment arrived in good condition with all cabling required and the collection of data went smoothly. I made a mistake when downloading the data off of the equipment. I was aware of the software version I needed to use and mistakenly used an outdated version causing corruption of the amperage readings. Completely my mistake.THIS IS WHERE ATEC SHINED!!!!Upon realizing the error, I placed a call to customer service to see if it was possible to intercept the meters prior to being received and wiped. This was a major oversight on my part and I feared the worst as it came to my career. I was connected to Mr. Irving Colindres. He listened to me in my panicked state and immediately went to work to see what he could do.Their policy states that the equipment will be purged of data upon receipt and 1 of 2 of the jobs had been received 10 days prior to speaking with Irving. Although those meters were unrecoverable, he did note that they had not yet received the 2nd set. Irving made sure that I had his direct extension and marked my order to be received with special care so that he could save the data for me using the proper version of software.Mr. Colindres went above and beyond in providing customer service outside of his required duties and had the files emailed to me a day earlier than he originally stated. His professionalism was impeccable from one IT guy to another even in the face of my mistake. Nothing required him to personally assist me and Im sure he had plenty of other tasks to work on. Irving single handedly helped me save a relationship with a customer and provided relief from a potentially negative career situation.As for the job that we were too late to save... ATEC quickly got another shipment crated up and sent to us within the week. We have those installed now and will be closing that job later this month. I will happily use ATEC again because of Irvings professionalism and empathy specifically and for the attention received by customer service and sales staff. Please make sure Irving is recognized in addition to the personal gift I have sent his way!

I appreciated them having someone to answer phones early as we are located on the East Coast. Not only was the woman on the phone pleasant but also very helpful. We received the equipment as promised and shipped it back as stated in the agreement. If you need to rent a vital piece of equipment as we did, then I highly recommend this company. I just read some of the reviews and I didnt get bad customer service or a bad piece of equipment. They thoroughly explained how the rental process worked and we agreed upon those terms. Great Company!

Comment: After providing a broken RF Field Probe, they sent a replacement with no calibration data (which we paid for) that had not been calibrated in 3 years. Once insisting on getting functional equipment that had been calibrated according to their own policies, they sent another one, again with no calibration data. They provided no refunds for wasting our time, nor for not attaching the data we paid for. On top of that their technical support blatantly lied to me a number of times, saying that the calibration data should be there (it was not even on their itemized equipment list with the shipment), and promising that the function of the probes was checked before they were sent. One probe was broken (someone super glued on a fiber optic connection), and the second probe had a very dead battery (it took 48 hours to charge). How could they check the function of two probes that clearly could not be turned on? This is the least professional operation I have ever done business with.

We needed two pieces of equipment for one days use, and had to agree to a minimum 14-day billing period since they didnt do anything smaller. One piece of equipment was non-functioning on arrival. They said we broke the second piece of equipment (which was working fine for us while in our custody). Billed for late charges and the repair costs without my consent to my personal credit card and without any form of discussion. How this companys reputation hasnt buried them is beyond me. Terrible (ongoing) experience with them.

Comment: I would highly recommend NOT using this company. We rented one of their cable testers and when we received it, it didnt work. They do not show any value in their customers and are more concerned with making a dollar by providing their customers with equipment that doesnt work. In contacting them about the problems that we experienced they did not take responsibility and try to help us, they turned around and made unauthorized charges on our CC (that they are refusing to refund) and said that we broke their equipment. ATEC has the worse customer service I have ever experienced and are very non-responsive and unprofessional. Future renters beware, do not listen to any of the Great company reviews. It wouldnt surprise me if their great employees posted the reviews themselves considering their punctuation is as great as the company has been.

Comment: I cannot recommend ATE. My entire experience was poor. Pre-rental, the representative did not call me back as promised. When I did rent a meter, ATE requested my UPS number. ATEs shipping choice ended up costing over $400 one way!!! Faster overnight/Saturday delivery through USPS would have only cost $120. I also was not pleased with the representative we spoke with regarding shipping. He was not helpful nor understanding at all, and passed the blame to everyone but him. I cannot recommend Advanced Test Equipment, and will not be using them in the future for my meter rental needs.
