During my stay at the Shamrock RV park, I was able to eat several times here.Each time the food was terrific.The clientele were cheerful and friendly without being chatty.The jukebox played and it was fun to see people enjoying themselves.I had the slaw burger with onion rings.Superb pub.Thank you guys for making me feel welcome during my visit.Cheers😎🌹🦋
I live in the Berrien area and there aren’t many good restaurants. But AJ’s is great! The servers are incredibly nice and the food is delicious! 10/10 would recommend 😋

Well, weve ate here 3 times and this was the last we ordered a well done burger and this is what we got. Never got my soup and order my son sliders off the kids menu and got a grilled cheese. Not impressed Ajs not impressed 👎👎👎
We found this little gem on our travels. Our waitress, Sydney, was absolutely amazing. All the food was very delicious. I had a steak and it was actually cooked the way I had asked for. The cook did an excellent job on all of our food......and we had alot...3 appetizers and 3 entrees. Will definitely stop in again.
Every time we call this place they seem to never answer the phone. They usually aren’t that busy just seems like they don’t want the business. It’s as easy as picking up the phone.
Eat local, because you get fantastic places like AJs. All the food is great, they have local beers and a juke box.

One of my favorite places to eat near my home town until tonight. Food was good as usual. Tables were spaced apart for social distance. I was very disappointed to see not a person working in there had a mask on, BARTENDAR AND 2 WAITRESS. We wore our mask as we saw other customers do the same. We usually order food but instead ordered a pizza which was really good and the people working on the other side all had masks on. I asked our waitress Miranda why none of the workers had masks on and she said she didn’t because of health problems. We asked her if we could take our beer over on the other side and we would eat our pizza there. I don’t like wearing a mask either but people like that just do what they want are the reason why this virus keeps spreading. JUST WEAR YOUR MASK OR STAY HOME!
Great staff, good food. They have karaoke night, which is pretty cool. Really loud inside, which makes it hard to hear and talk to people.
Miranda is always very friendly and warm when my brother and I come in for lunch. The staff operates within the state guidelines for safety concerning the Corona virus. Soups are always home made from scratch, and are always super fresh and tasty. Ive had many of their offerings, and havent had anything that I didnt like.

Great little place for drinks and a quick bite whether youre on your own or meeting up with people. Good decor, very clean. A little pricey, but not unexpected. Food was good each time I visited; vegetarian options always appreciated. Great service each time I visited, their servers are very accommodating and give good menu suggestions. Will be visiting again!

Dont overlook this Amazing place with Amazing Food and Exceptional Atmosphere! Love this place. Soups (first ever, cream of asparagus soup) and Sandwiches at lunch were a very delicious experience. Then Taco Tuesday, went with my first ever fish Taco and beef enchiladas, rice and beans with a chicken quesadilla! A Big Yum with my platefulls! Will visit AJs every time I am in Berrein Springs Michigan. The Staff, well, very fun and lively. Happy and friendly. Shout out To Liz! to Miranda! And to Lana! Thank you for making my time in Berrein Springs wonderful.
Grabbed some burgers to-go last night; cant really speak to the service, but the food was disappointing. Burgers came without any condiments. My husband got a BBQ burger and complained there was hardly any sauce on it. Fries were soggy. Pretty pricey for pub food that wasnt very tasty... Wouldnt eat there again.

Stopped in for Karaoke on Saturday. There was a NEW bartender and the service was horrible. I was seated at the bar and ordered a drink, she asked for my ID and walked away when I held it out for her. Returned over 5 mins later and asked for it again. She also served another patron two moxed drinks ordered more than 20 mins apart before giving my my drink. I ordered a bottled drink. Thats takes all of two seconds to serve someone. This girl was clearly not capable of handling the bar on her own. Until a staff member is able to provide quality service on their own there should be more people staffed. Good service is key to success for any business.

The best part of going here for an early lunch was taking this girl I like out to eat , we had a great time , and the food was good also ! Would like to try the pizza , looked really nice !
Great food. Service can be slow at times depending in the day, but the food is always worth the wait.
We came here on a whim with my father in law who lives in the area. It was a pretty busy place on a Saturday night, with tons of people and karaoke. The food was great and moderately priced. My only suggestion though, is to get the ingredients to make a Michigan Mule!

This is the cutest little place! I do stress it is on the smaller side, and ot doea get busy! We had lively patrons help bring in a table and extra chairs though :) We went on karaoke night (unknowingly) which was a hoot! It was loud hut very entertaining. You can tell its an integral part of the community. And the food was absolutely delicious.

Good food. Friendly barstaff. Sexist waitstaff.I went in on a December Saturday afternoon, post-errands and shopping but pre-groceries and returning home. I walked in. The waitress, finishing up with a family table at the front by the door, doesnt acknowledge me.I walk up to the bar, chat with the bartender and order my beverage and food. This Star Wars weekend, the bartender jokes with me about having Star Wars on instead of sports - which I found refreshing. Another group comes in; the waitress greets them and serves them. My food arrives at the bar; now, Im enjoying tasty food/beverage + Star Wars. Im thinking this is an agreeable way to spend a piece of my Saturday afternoon.As Im half-way through my burger, two guys walk in and sit at the other side of the bar in front of the other TV. The waitress literally runs over to greet them and makes a joke at the bartenders expense about having Star Wars up/not being a sports guy and puts a game on for them. Not on the TV in front of them. But on the TV Im sitting in front of at the other end of the 10 ft bar and clearly watching. All without looking at or acknowledging me in any way. I looked over at her several times as shes messing through the controls on my TV but didnt want to shout across the bar as she was standing over by the male customers. Eventually she gets both TVs changed to a football game (raising the volume in the process), the barstaff returns and I ask to be cashed out.Finally, as the waitress steps over towards me, I let her know that I was actually enjoying what I was watching while eating (Star Wars, not sports) when she decided to cater to the incoming male clientele without so much as acknowledging me. And that I didnt appreciate the sexist overtones of her catering to them at my expense and paying zero attention to me as a customer.When you have a customer service based-business, the staff you hire becomes part of your brand. I dont like sexist brands. So, this is one woman who wont be spending a penny at AJs Uptown Bar and Grill again. (Obviously I also wont be suggesting anyone in my household or among my friends go either.) Im sure my lack of patronage wont close their business, because the food IS good. But maybe it will make the owners train staff to acknowledge women customers. And someone might want to let that waitress know that women control, directly or indirectly, between 70% - 90% of the household spend in America. Acknowledging us, if not catering to us, is just smart business.
The food tasted good when I got it. I ordered my food and had to wait a very long time for it.(waitress did give a discount, I never complained or was rude with the issue) I was thankful that I was with a friend I was catching up with. My friends ice tea did not have ice,and the horrible experience goes on. Not sure Ill go back. I have talked with friends who have told of similar storys. My one friend ordered a Moscow mule,and the ginger beer was not added,when the bar tender was told they got very upset,saying my friend was was wrong,that it does not have that in it. The wait staff can be very rude,and often forget orders. There is nothing fancy to get wrong,or remember about a cheeseburger. Why wait so long for one?

Ordered chef salad to go, had to wait 20 mins or so because they had no eggs, which is my main reason for salad... was on sport trip so owner wasnt happy that i parked bus in side street..when i finally got my food, no silverware was with it, n my salad looked awful..guess the cook was too busy smoking outside to give my food attention, because when i left, she was out there puffing away, admiring the bus..heres what i ate most of, before I couldnt..with my fingers, no less..they got my $, could have been a little nicer..the young waitress was super , the other..NOT

I did not visit this bar. I actually went to the restaurant next door, a Chinese place. Their food was okay. I dont drink, so that is the reason for the one star. Also it keeps coming up as a place I visited and I dont know how to get rid of it.

2021-07-16Nice atmosphere! I had the grilled perch tacos which came with tortilla chips & salsa. There was flaky fish in every bite and it has the perfect amount of fish & slaw filling for the size of the tortilla. I love that the tortilla was heated/cooked/toasted before being filled. I wasnt biting into a doughy flour tortilla. Hubs had the guacamole burger with sweet potatoes tots. The burger was cooked to a nice medium and was a good juicy, burger. Sweet potato tots are like little dessert bombs🤣...a little addictive. The place appeared clean. Service was good, though we didnt see our server very much. Give them a try!

2021-10-19If you are in the area and looking for a good atmosphere with great food, AJs is it! You won’t find much in Berrien Springs aside from McDonald’s anyway so go get something fun instead. Extensive menu with fresh everything! So many things to try. I can’t tell you the last time I had a perfectly cooked medium burger in a small town pub- they nailed it. And the perch tacos are yummy!Also Lyssa was a fun bartender, give her all the tips. Thumbs up forever!

2022-03-18Food was good...service was not. Our waitress barely acknowledged us and the manager took our order, didnt write it down, and got it wrong. Also waited 20 mins for a drink. I have worked very fast paced waitressing and you still acknowledge your tables. Communication is key and this place did not have it. Glad I live out of town and I dont have to come back.

2021-03-12Went at dinner time, not for drinking. Family scene in the dinning room, chill. Good Bar food. Grilled cheese with Bacon & Avacado and also the BBQ Burger both pretty good. Grilled perch tacos *meh but the mystery orange sauce that came with the BBQ Burger helped fix the tacos. The onion rings are better than the fries, as your side. Irish nachos were good. Service was slammed but still did a good job. More team work on the floor between waitresses, would of helped everyone out, including the dishwasher who bussed. They use styrofoam, as To Go and also as Cups.

2019-06-18Excellent little place. Not too expensive either. They just opened Feb of 2019 and they are a pizza joint connected to a bar and grill. Perfect if you DONT love pizza and someone you love does. I had a burger and it was excellent. It ended up being a fork and knife burger because the bun was really soft but the flavors were all there. Fries were good also. Check this place out!

2018-12-10This was the perfect spot to end up after a long cold fishing trip on the St. Joeseph River. I had the perch which you could get fried our pan cooked both were amazing. Much better then what you expect in a bar and grill. My buddy had a burger and he also walked away very satisfied.Fridays after 4 the perch is all u can eat.Great food.

2019-09-04We stopped here for a late lunch & we sat at the bar. Both of the bartenders/ servers working were so friendly & helpful! My friend got the philly cheese steak & was very impressed. Actual steak with big slices of green peppers! I got the taco Tuesday special- fried chicken tacos. So good! Hand breaded, tender and delicious! The space itself is very cool with lots of vintage items including a truck-bed booth.
