Comment: Exceptional experience at the LAX Alamo location. I used the app for quick check in and it was a breeze to get off the shuttle and picked the car I wanted. They also have airport shuttles (buses) and a hotel shuttle (a van) if you need to return to your hotel after returning your car. I would use this location again if I travel back to LAX.

Comment: Efficient and no hassle. I will definitely use Alamo in the future. I flew into LAX and got the shuttle bus to the car rental place. The bus driver was helpful and friendly. I used the skip the line feature and picked out the car I wanted (the staff there was so nice especially Rayle). The car was clean and in perfect shape. The reverse trip to drop off the car was just as seamless - they had a whole team of people checking in cars and a fleet of busses waiting to drive people to LAX. Wow. The whole drop off took like 2 minutes. Amazing

Comment: I manage a smaller operation here at LAX I rented a pick up truck everything was OK I read all fine print nowhere it said I had to show my bank account statement to the CSR, no big deal I know companys have ways to disqualify the local market, now regarding the car it was in poor conditions and with stains and not properly sanitize, not what I expected for paying 1000$ to rent a pick up for one week if my company would have carried pick up trucks I would have definitely returned the vehicle same day

Comment: I rarely write reviews, but my experince has pretty much ruined the last few days of my vacation. Ive reached out to the company a few times and feel as if they have no regards to what is happening. Very robotic response from each agent I speak to, barely any empathy.I rented my car for 8 days. A Premium Suv to give our family with two carseats as well as a lot a luggage some extra room. It was a great experience while picking up at LAX. Actually, what makes this review a two star instead of negative a thousand stars was the worker (I am sorry, I did not get his name) at the door. He greeted us and saw that we has ALOT of baggage, two car seats, as well as a baby and a 7 year old. He took it upon himself to check us in (didnt need to go to the counter), brought our car up front for us to load, as well as even helped us carry luggage to our car. He was the best thing that happend during this experience.Fast forward to our second to last day. It was our last day to spend at Disneyland. We were all ready and loaded into the car, and the car does not turn on. The battery died! I called ALAMO and they set us up to get roadside asssistance to jump our car for the next morning because I was not going to wait any longer and miss out on our last day at Disneyland. They also arranged us to swap out our car at a nearby ENTERPRISE (same company). They asked if I felt comfortable driving the car that died after we jump it!? Uh, no. Especially not with a 10 month old and 7 year old! She did put me on a hold to call that location to ensure that they will have a car reserved for us. Which she confirmed they did!Here we are, the next day (our last day of our vacation) stressing about this situation, not even enjoying what little time I have left In California. My husband calls me from that rental car location to tell me that they DO NOT HAVE A CAR FOR US. That we have to drive further out to John Wayne airport. I called Alamo again, and told them that the agent whom arranged our exchange called that location to confirm that our car was available!!! No, this time the agent said they cannot guarantee our car will be there. Instead, I can wait for a car to become available, which can be later in the afternoon/evening. No, I cannot wait! This is my last day here, I have things to do before flying home! I am not spending my day waiting at the hotel! or two, try to go to that location. So that is where we are at now. Husband is at the location, praying that they have a car that can at least fit us all and our luggage.Not to mention, they charge $67 dollars to send someone to jump THEIR CAR.I understand if I left my key in the car, or even got a flat tire. But the battery is beyond my control. I make sure all lights are off etc. I also had to spend more money to arrange to take the bus to disneyland. and that experience was bad bc my child got sick from no ac in the bus coming back as well as a bumpy ride. She ended up throwing up the moment we got off the bus.Ive never had such a bad experience renting a car. Not only did it ruin my last vacation days, I had to pay extra to just have a car that works! Not to mention, pay for an alternative transportation.Update: the second location only has a sedan available. We would not be able to fit all of our baggage. I have no idea what we will do. This is such a horrible experience.

No lines, friendly staff and the young man who got us to our car was friendly, funny and helpful - wish I had gotten his name! There was a line when we were leaving Alamo so this young man came to our vehicle and checked us out so we wouldn’t have to wait.

Comment: We rented a mini-SUV, Hyundai Kona, neon-orange from Alamo at LAX. It was exactly what we needed. Had ApplePlay map system, came with the car, that got us EVERYWHERE we needed to go. The car was suggested by the employee working the lot. Said it was new & loaded. It had driver assist, motion sensors (very helpful in LA), optional speed governor. Size made it especially useful for navigating tight spots. And, due to its color, we were able to locate it in a sea of vehicles. I used Alamos online pre-check-in and the kiosk at the rental site. Had my car in minutes, while a huge line of customers waited to get their cars. Drop-off was just as easy. Lots of attendants checking 3 different car rental companies in, took just minutes. 2-thumbs up!!

Comment: Vehicle was super dirty when we picked it up and it smelled like smoke, so we told the attendant that we wanted the vehicle cleaned or another vehicle. The attendant said since it was the only vehicle they had available in that class, if they took it back to clean it, it would be an additional hour or more before we could get the vehicle back to continue to our destination, so they ended up handing us a bunch of sanitizing wipes to clean it ourselves. Then as we were leaving, the guy checking us out said we would receive a discount for the inconvenience, but that never happened.

Comment: This being our second time to LA, we decided to use a different rental company. We chose Alamo and booked direct. We arrived around 9pm on a weeknight and it was chaos. Understaffed and not everyone was able to get the cars they had booked. Most were getting free upgrades however. Including us! Paul showed us to our car. He was super friendly and accomodating given the circumstances. Upon exiting the carpark and driving in our (much smaller) upgrade, we decided to go back the next day to get the sedan I booked. I’m quite tall so I appreciate the legroom. Our sedan was still not available but we ended up with a Dodge Charger. Suited us pleasantly as a nod to the muscle cars of yesteryear. We swapped vehicles seamlessly and off to Vegas we went!! An hour into our trip to Vegas we heard a tiny stone hit the windscreen. By the time we arrived it was nearly three feet long!!We took it back upon returning to LA for yet another seamless swap. This time for a jeep compass. Not entirely stoked with the vehicle but it would get us from A to B. Can’t say enough about all the staff. We will be back next trip!

Comment: I have rented from alamo a few times. They always have the best prices and customer service. I have not had any problems with them, my car of choice is always ready, clean and nice. Alamo does not charge a deposit or make you use a major credit card, they let you use your debit card. I have been 100% satisfied with every rental and customer service. I highly recommend!

Whole process was smooth in that regard.Apart from that, the lady at the desk gave us what was close to being the worst service I’ve ever seen. (Everyone else was nice in the garage itself etc.). But this older lady at the front desk was the (for no reason at all) rudest person I ever remember talking to in a service setting. For us it didn’t mean more than a surprisingly ridicolous experience, but I could imagine it being pretty awful for someone who’s perhaps nervous about renting their first car etc

Comment: 2nd time i rented from alamo lax and 2nd time a got a car that almost immediately gave the change oil soon message. This time already on the first day of rental. So i did drive 3 weeks worrying what would happen when it would change to change oil now. Also did the car have a black tape on the front window up to the roof and the words no claim written on the rear window which we did not notice on pickup. The front passenger seat was wet which gabe my wife wet pants the first week. I expect it had the front window replaced and had some rain damage bug the car shouldnt have been rented out in this condition.we told this when returning the car but greeter didnt respond to it. Dont know why you ask if everything was ok with the car when you dont take action on it-update after contacting below email address as requested. I was offered a 2 day free coupon which needed to be used within 1 year and which cannot be used on all contracts. so totally useless and totally not proportional to the state of the car that we got

The first agent we approached told us to go back and wait in line and they were going on break.The next agent saw this and called us over when they finished their transaction. They were professional, kind, and expediently got us our contract and directed us to a stand outside to pick up our vehicle. The agent there provided us with available options and volunteered to go check other vehicles to see if one would better meet our needs.Our vehicle was clean and well taken care of. We’ll definitely rent from Alamo again at LAX.

Comment: Ive used Alamo countless times over the years, havent traveled as much nowadays since Im older but decided to use them again this time. Everything was great as usual except for a couple things. The lady at check-in was very unpleasant at the LAX Alamo center, and then I was charged an additional $4.50 after returning my vehicle with no explanation why the additional amount was charged. It was a small amount so I just didnt bother, but things like these makes me wonder if Id like to use Alamo again in the future. JMHO.

Comment: I loved the price and the customer service as it was my first time renting a car on my own. I made the reservation about a week in advance and was told Id pay when I picked up, which was perfect as I got paid the day before pickup. I picked up, input my card information, and was thanked for my payment. I went about my vacation but it wasnt until I returned the car and went home that the entire payment was deducted from my account - not 8 days prior when I attempted to pay and was told my payment was successful. This overdrafted my account and caused some stress on my first day back from a much needed vacation. Other than this one thing, I LOVED the selection of midsized vehicles and the general affordability of Alamo versus other rental companies!

Comment: Rented car at LAX and waited over 30 minutes for an Alamo shuttle to take us to pick up car. Shuttles would just drive by because they were alrady full. When bus arrived it was overflowing with people literally stuffed into the bus, I felt like I was in a third world country. This was a dangerous situation. The car I rented was not available so I had to accept an oversized van or wait 1-2 hours for the car I rented to become available. The shuttle upon return and back to the LAX hotels was far better.

Comment: We travel extensively for work and leisure and rented vehicles at least 8 times this year. Of all the companies and locations I used, this was the smoothest and easiest rental yet. I was worried because the rental location was offsite, but there were multiple transports from the airport running almost back to back so no time was lost. There was an option for self check in at the rental location, so I didn’t have to wait on a person to do my paperwork. Return took hardly anytime at all, and I was on my way back to the airport. I highly recommend Alamo at LAX!

Comment: Loved the vehicles and 90% of the service we received on our recent trip the the USA. Picking in Nashville n dropping off in New Orleans was great, simple friendly staff. Picking up in Sacramento, well what a mission. They couldnt understand English..... enough said.Dropping off at LAX was easy as well. I did extend an extra day over the phone... simple to do. Got back to Australia and emailed about Tolls and how they are paid.... supprise still NO response, turns out they charge a fee almost what the Tolls are worth. Despite these couple of issues We Would use them again, better the devil u know than the devil u dont. Nice work Team Alamo.

Comment: Easy pick up and return. You can do a pick up check in as soon as you get off at LAX and go straight to the lot to pick up. There also was a mix up on pre-fuel package I requested, which then got dropped during the trip. I raised the issue to one of the workers when I was returning the vehicle, and the manager refunded me the amount by giving me a cheaper gas rate.I would use this place again if I ever visit LA, which Im pretty sure I wont... haha. Comment: Giving a 2 star as Kyle from Alamo “saved” my experience with how quickly he “solved” my issue of my dead car. Had my mustang convertible (assuming a 2023) for about 20 mins before it wouldn’t turn back on and left me stranded on the side of the road for an hour. Got it towed away, and Uber’s back to Alamo in which they gave me another mustang (now a much later version) that squealed so loud the entire time I thought the brakes were going to give out at any moment. It was in the front, I’m assuming they didn’t have time to throughly go through the entire car inspection before they gave it to me. The gate agent acted as though I did something wrong when attempting to leave.. the entire situation was just a mess. There was no communication from the service you need to call to get the car towed/file the issue to the Alamo location itself so I had to rehash everything and stand in a long line just to be helped again. Landed at LAX at about 11:15ish, couldn’t start my first day of vacation officially until around 5 due to the issues. What a mess. Never have had an issue with Alamo, have always bragged about how easy it is to use the brand. How the tow truck driver looked at me when I told him who I was renting from tells me I was probably under the wrong impression.

Comment: My dealing with LAX location was mostly positive. Booking process was breeze and skip the line option is great. However, upon arrival at 2:30pm car selection was surprisingly very limited (hense one star is taken off). In fact, there was only one car with bumper damage available in my economy group aisle selection. I had to wait about 10-15 minutes till another car showed up and it was almost new Mazda 3. From there it was perfect experience. Car drove great, return process took 2 minutes, and final bill amount was slightly more than original but nothing serious. I would rent it again.

Comment: Rented a luxury category vehicle listed as BMW 3 series or Audi A4. When arrived the only options were an Audi A3 and Volvo S60. When inquired if there were any other options available was rudely told “thats what you get”. There were other options in the national lot, but they weren’t willing to consider swapping out. We took the Volvo which was fine, however the windshield washer light was on when we got in and there was a tear in the sidewall of the tire.

Comment: Get car: The staffs standing outside were all very friendly. They helped me to go through the website confirming my reservation. The website didnt finish and gave the car directly though. I then went into the registration desk to complete the process and got rent policy printed out. Overall the process to get the car was smooth and no force sales for any products (I would give highest score for this.)Car condition: I rented a mini van, the car was in good condition and no problem at all.Car Return: It was quick and smooth. No surprise or unwanted experience.Overall: This rent experience was great. If any feedback for improvement, I would say the travel from and back terminal to rent center were not so easy sometimes (depend on traffic.) And there was a line to get onto the shuttle when I returned the car and tried to get back to terminal for flight.

Comment: I am a first-time renter from Alamo, and the experience was EXCELLENT, from the shuttle bus pick-up in LAX to the chat with the outside team to the vehicle pickup and checkout.I strongly recommend signing up with Alamo and then selecting the Skip the Counter option. That allows you to choose the actual vehicle (within the vehicle group you selected and paid for when you made your online reservation) and gets you going a lot quicker, as you are not in line waiting for the people ahead of you to be processed.The return process was quick, the staff was professional and courteous (I am NOT at my best at 5 am without coffee), and the shuttle bus driver was (once again) superb.

Comment: I hope the manager in this location can check the camera around 9:30 - 10:00 am on 05.28.2024. I booked the car thought another website, not to directly Alamo, so we had some questions. The lady in the center was our helper, instead of helping us she was rude and kind of racist. She tore up our check out form and kicked us out of line, making it very difficult for us to have a bad experience. Even though we dont speak English really well, we are very polite and pay for what we use, we dont ask for it for free. As customers, we need respect and help. I myself also work in customer industry, I always treat her very politely and respectfully when asking for her help. I sincerely thank the man who helped us when we were kicked out of line without any reason, he is truly a great employee. He conscientiously led me to the parking lot. I really feel like everything is fine except for the racism.

Comment: Took the AirTrain to the rental car centre at SFO. The air train takes you inside the rental area which is efficient is you have a lot of luggage or a luggage trolley. Our flight arrived later in the evening, we got to Alamo just after midnight. The desks were empty so we got served straight away. Showed the voucher and other info, then went straight out into the parking garage. We were met by a member of staff who showed us to the cars. We hired an SUV and had 4 cars to choose from. We chose a Nissan Rogue which was in very good condition and the interior was clean. There was in a disinfectant wipe in the car which was handy. The car was fine and had no problems, good car to drive around California.

Comment: I’ve been a long time renter at Alamo-LAX and during one trip, decided to rent from a different car rental company. That was a mistake. After coming back to Alamo, I realized how they make it so much easier. Lots of shuttle buses, on-line check in, and lot of car availability. More importantly, the cars were relatively new and clean. The person who checked me out at the gate was super nice, I wish I got her name. Best part was Pedro who I met when returning my car. His customer service attitude was amazing - super courteous and went out of his way. I’m never going back to that other rental agency.

Comment: I booked a two week rental; but due to various issues with the vehicles, we had to switch vehicles three times within the first week. The first problem happened as soon as I left the rental parking lot, 100 yards down the road and I had a low tire pressure warning! A quick U-turn and we were back at the rental lot looking to switch out the vehicle. After about half an hour or so, we finally picked up a second vehicle and tried again to get on the freeway to our hotel in Irvine. We flew in from Toronto in the morning and had ran into some delays with the flight, so the additional delay at Alamo just made an already long day even longer. Things seemed to take a turn for the better the next day when I received an email from Samantha Mercado, one of the service managers at LAX, apologizing for the inconvenience and offering unspecified compensation. By that time we had discovered that the CarPlay navigation software was not working properly. The navigation on our phones worked fine, but the CarPlay software was not picking up our location accurately, it would think that we were on another road and would keep giving erroneous navigation directions. So I quickly replied to Samantha‘s email explaining the problem with CarPlay software and asking if we could switch to another car at the John Wayne airport near Irvine. But I received no replies at all from Samantha or any of the three Alamo staff that she CCed on her email over the next 4 days, Even though I had followed up with a number of emails over the next three days. By Wednesday, the navigation issue was serious enough for us to drive to the Alamo office in the SNA airport and get the vehicle switched for the second time! But our bad luck with the rentals were not over, the latest Chevy rental had problems with the front crash sensors! It would go off for no apparent reason, even when there is nothing in front of the car! Finally, on Thursday, I was able to switch to a fourth vehicle at LAX. Got in touch with Samantha when I got there. When I told her that I had emailed her a number times and had not heard back from from anyone, she told me that she had been off for three days! While I understand that people have vacations, but it made absolutely no sense for her to send me that email offering to address an issue just as she was going off work and would not check her email for 4 days. We finally got a rental car that worked properly, but it was only because we had made a number of trips to the rental offices. Alamo, despite offering to take care of us, totally let us down! The lack of adequate and timely response and follow up left us feeling very negatively about this whole rental experience.

Chose my vehicle out of what was available avoiding the smelly ones, (they are all non smoking but people don’t follow rules). I opened up 3-4 cars before deciding. Was a comfortable ride for the week. Returning was just as easy, they didn’t make you feel rushed at all and again, shuttle was waiting to take us to the terminal. One older we were going to drive away in till a newer one got parked so we took that one instead. Getting to the car from my phone QR code sticker was great. Returning the vehicle was easy as well. However I provided a statement provided by card issuer that it is NOT a pre-paid card, but a normal debit card, they were unable to handle it. Another car rental handled my card without any problem. Its an amazing car to drive and this particular one didnt even have 10.000 miles on the clock.Staff at this combined rental facility (Alamo, Enterprise and National) is really friendly and try to help you as quick as possible. Buses from and to LAX come every few minutes. They are easy to find outside LAX and it takes 10-15 min. to get from the airport to the rental location. Taking the car is just as easy as returning the car.Second year in a row I rented at this location.

Comment: Rented out of the LAX, Inglewood location. Upon arrival the team inside was very nice and accommodating, However, the car we paid for was unavailable so we had to switch. This in and of itself was not a huge issue, except for the fact that the car they pulled up in was FILTHY. I mean completely dirty inside and out. It was clear that no one had washed the vehicle since the last person used it. They didnt even run it through an exterior wash. As you can imagine this put a pretty bad taste in our mouth. Then upon our return, we were in a huge hurry and accidentally left a jacket and a pair of sunglasses in the car. I IMMEDIATELY put in a claim and called the site (within one hour of dropping off the car). I was incredibly surprised to find out that they had not returned my items to the lost and found...which clearly means that an employee of ALAMO stole our stuff. It is not as if I called days later to get my things. I literally called within one hour of dropping off the car, and you could not find the items???? Unacceptable! Just an unpleasant experience overall! The ONLYreason I gave 2 stars was because the counter people were nice.

Comment: It was a fast-paced check out when picking up the large vehicle we rented. however, on the way back home the vehicle had issues with the transmission, we contacted AAA to help us in order to bring the vehicle back to Los Angeles. this was a 15-passenger van. vehicle was able to get back started and could not increase the speed above 65. when we brought the vehicle in all we got offered for a discount was the insurance cost. not even the long wait times we had in Barstow. for a vehicle that did not operate, and we all had to wait about 2 1/2 hours for help.

From there they didnt have the same car any longer so they gave me a hybrid jeep grand cheeroke which broke down half way to coachella. I was able to switch it out for a Nissan SUV at a near by enterprise which I was told was comparable. It was not and I didnt have any other choice so I had to take the car. I had also ask to add an additional day to my rental which was given to my for the initial inconvenience of being given the wrong car. That was never added and I was then charged for the additional day. I had flagged when I dropped off my car that I shouldnt be charged. They said someone would reach out non one did and they went ahead and charged my card. Honestly through and through an awful experience. Jamiee reached out to refund two days and no one ever followed up nor will they answer my email. No one will answer my calls either.

We arrived around 9pm and upon arrival few people in line ahead of us and it was very quick. I did make the reservations ahead of time on alamos website. No issues at the counter and plenty of car choices! I booked midsize SUV. The vehicle was nice and clean almost new!Return was easy … long and busy lines but it was also raining and weekend so expected rush. But alamos friends came right as I parked, checked and gave me paper receipt on request. And shuttles were waiting in line. (Every5 minutes shuttles service). The shuttle driver made sure to drop us at our terminal.Absolutely glad that I booked alamos!

Comment: Alamo is my choice of car rentals whenever air travel is involved. The LAX location work just as efficiently as any of their locations, though the actual location in which it is located leaves room for desire. I always use Alamos skip the counter option when renting a car through them. All I had to do is go straight to the parking lot and find the car of my choice, drive it to the exit booth and show my ID, payment and reservation barcode and off I go. The return process was a little sketchy, only because the area sucks (severely deteriorated pavement condition, generally not in a good area, no fault of Alamo by any means) and the car return entrance was a little hard to find, especially when it is 5 AM in the morning and foggy (there are no clearly lit signs when I returned my rental). Other than that, service is great and the rental process is smooth as usual with Alamo.Pro-tip: Never prepay for gas and always top off yourself.

They guided us to the lot with the size of the car we had requested and told us to pick which ever one we wanted to take.Actually, choosing the car we eventually drove off the lot with took us longer than the paperwork at the desk. ^_^Overall, this was a good rental experience.

Comment: I enjoyed using Alamo Rent A Car while in California. They made it very easy for me to pick up my car. I chose to skip the counter and process everything online. Once I arrived to the car lot, an attendant looked over my paperwork and DL quickly and gave me a choice of the two standard SUVs. Although I had never driven a keyless car before, I was able to figured it out by pressing and holding my foot on the brake and then pressing the start engine button. Dropping off the car was just as easy. I pulled in on the lot and was directed by an attendant to pull in behind others who were also dropping off their car. They looked over the car quickly and said they would email me a final bill. I gathered my belongings and was able to catch the shuttle bus right away. My final bill was email as promised and only additional charge was for gas. Verry happy with the service and car I received through Alamo and I will be using them again when I travel back to California during the summer.

When I arrived all I had to do was so proof of identity and they took about 5 minutes with paperwork. Once I reviewed and signed the paperwork I was directed to a parking lot full of cars. I met an Alamo employee out there and they looked at my paperwork and told me to choose from my, previously agreed on, SUV. The keys were in the car and I we were on our way. When we went to drop it off. You pulled up and left the keys on the dash and walked away. Super easy, quick, and minimal human interaction. I will definitely use Alamo again when I need to and would recommend for anyone.

Comment: Experience started out great with assistance from Andrea at Alamo LAX office. She was very pleasant, and offered to adjust my rental period from planned 26-27 hours to 24, saving me 1-2 additional hours charge. Intake at Palm Springs airport was also easy and friendly, with assistance of Asst Branch Manager. That’s where the pleasantness stopped. I received a new rental agreement after drop off via email that ignored Andrea’s offer, and added the additional hour (turned out to be 25 hour rental) to summary of charges. I reached out to Alamo via text link provided, and was met with, at first, obstinance, and eventually what felt like hostility by the representative. They were not interested in any arrangement I might have had with Andrea, and sent me 2-3 additional RA’s via email, one being so incorrect that it actually added another day and a half to the billing estimate. Alamo then charged my credit card for one day and one hour, but at a higher hourly/daily rate than what was quoted to me, and shown to me on my original RA. Can’t help but think that the string of inconsistencies presented to me over the course of my discussions with this representative was not just a series of random mistakes. I eventually called Alamo customer service to contest credit card charge with wrong hourly rates (by that time I’d given up on trying to get Alamo to honor Andrea’s 24 hour offer), and was greeted cordially like one might expect. I think the representative understood my request to adjust my billing, said he would take care of it (his English was a bit broken, so probably harder for me to understand him than vice versa). I am still waiting for billing adjustment to my credit card. Hard to imagine I’ll be too enthusiastic to rent again with Alamo, all because of the “customer service” exchanges I had with whoever was on the other end of the text message string. Pity, because all the rest of the people I was in contact with at Alamo were courteous and professional.

Comment: The worst part of the experience is getting your vehicle. The prices are very low and everyone seems to know it. We have not rented with Avis in probably 20 years or more. The shuttle from the LAX terminal to the lot was packed! Regardless of the city, I typically find myself on shuttles that are half full or less. We used the app for an express rental experience which was very nice and very convenient. The problem comes with the vehicle portion. We were prompted with an option for a vehicle and we decided that the one offered was fine. The app will give you the spot number with row and number to find the vehicle. Easy to navigate the lot, but that car was buried with 2 rows of cars blocking it in. That was not the only car with that situation, there were probably 50 cars that had no way of getting out without someone moving cars which probably would have taken 20 minutes or more based on the spot that this car was in. Easily enough I went back to the app and swapped to another vehicle which turned out to be easily accessible. Loaded up our bags and headed toward the exit. Check out was easy, just handed my license to the gate attendant and we were on our way about 60 seconds later. Probably wont rent from Avis at this location again, but the price is hard to beat!

Comment: The only reason I didnt give this a 5 star is because I was rented a car at LAX that was scratched up all over the place which to me wasnt an issue since I just needed a car and didnt care what it looked like, but I thankfully decided to take photos just in case (which I have never done before). I returned the car hours early and thought all would be good. However, the next morning I received an email and a call from my drop off about those scratches. I had to spend several hours while in lines at Disneyland talking to people, emailing photos/videos, etc to prove that this was not my fault. It was definitely not how I wanted to start my family vacation. I never take photos so I am not sure why I did this time, or I would have been charged for something that was not my fault at all. It would be nice to know that the cars are being fully inspected before rented out and noted. I dont care if my car has scratches, but I do care if I get blamed for it. Other than that, the staff was nice, and the car worked for what I needed it to be. Shout out to Jennifer at the 711 W Katella Ave location for being SUPER helpful in helping me get this resolved.

I did the self check in online and upon arriving at the rental car place, the Alamo staff directed me exactly where I needed to go and told me exactly what I needed to do! Comment: I am a first time car renter and I am under 25 years old. The staff is very friendly and I highly recommend you do skip the counter online. When you do skip the counter online, all you need to do once you get to the Alamo rent a car is to just show an employee that you skipped the counter they show you rows of cars you can choose from based on what you booked online. They tell you to just choose a car, keys are inside and once you exit they ask for your ID, credit card you used to book the car online and your skip the counter ticket ID which you get once you complete the skip the counter online. I also recommend Alamo because it is the cheapest out of all of the car rentals I researched that was near LAX. Alamo was cheaper than Sixt, Hertz, Enterprise, Budget and more. I also recommend that you book with Alamo because I believe the location that is connected with Alamo is Enterprise and Alamo is far cheaper than Enterprise and its for the same quality. What was easier than skipping the counter was dropping off the vehicle. I just followed the signs to where it said drop off vehicle and I just got out of the car, Diego was there to take the keys and confirm my name and that was it. In addition, they provide free shuttle to and from LAX. You just have to look for the bus that says Alamo, I almost missed it because the first thing you see on the bus is Enterprise but the Alamo logo was next to the Enterprise logo on the bus. The shuttle bus drivers are also really nice and friendly. They help with luggage on and off the bus and the ride is 8 minutes to and from the airport. Because I am under 25, there is extra costs to rent a car and Alamo had the least amount of fees even with the addition of all the insurance and add ons for roadside assistance Alamo was the cheapest option for the LAX area that I extensively researched for hours and I had a really great experience with this Alamo location. If I visit LA again I would definitely rent a car with Alamo.

Comment: I always get nervous before renting cars. Will the line be really long? Will they be out of the vehicle class I reserved? Will there be problems with the car? Everything at Alamo was perfect! I could fill in all my info online, so I didn’t have to wait. And I could walk right up to my clean minivan. There were frequent shuttles to and from LAX. Worst part was traffic but that’s not Alamo’s fault. I’m looking forward to when the consolidated rental car facility opens up with the LAX people mover.

Comment: Great experience. Set up for the skip the counter option and it was exactly as advertised. You arrive, go straight to the attendant at the front of the lot, and they point to the row. You then are free to choose whatever vehicle you want and start driving. You could be done in 2 minutes, although with my indecisive nature, it took me ages to make my choice. Best rental car experience Ive ever had.

Comment: When I picked up the car I was told a higher price was coming up, but when I returned it they did abide by the price I had printed. So make sure you have a printed version of the quote. I was also told the tolls would just be passed on to me at actual cost but there was a $9.99 service charge. When renting a car out of your area you have no other way to pay for the tolls even on line, I tried and wasnt allowed to since it was a rental. For that reason a service charge should not happen and I was told there wasnt one...The car work well and was pretty efficient picking up and dropping off the car.

When I got to the rental location near LAX Airport, there was only one person in front of me. When it was my turn, the agent was nice and processed my reservation. Comment: Returned our rental car today and the staff was amazing.They asked us if we had any issues, which we did, but only with Apple car play disconnecting constantly. He asked if he could do anything to make up for it but we were happy and said no. He tried to give us something but we refused. We expected to walk back to our hotel but he asked if we needed a ride and someone else drove us back to the Marriott unexpected but thrilled.Return process was fast and easy, drop off location was a piece of cake to find with Google maps.Would definitely recommend.

The shuttles at the airport come by often (which unfortunately cant be said for other car companies by LAX), the cars are reliable, and the staff has always been very helpful.I rented a car for the holidays and Chase was spectacular. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. I hope he helps me again next time I rent a car. Comment: Alamo at LAX was BY FAR the BEST rental car service we have ever experienced. Take the time to complete the online registration its so worth it. When we got to the airport it was easy to catch the correct van. Goto the purple area and be sure to get on an Alamo bus. When we arrived we walked out to the covered parking, picked any car we wanted, proceeded to the exit, they scanned our windshield and verified our name and we were off! Returning the car literally took 3 minutes and thats including getting on the shuttle. You pull in, they scan your windshield, you leave the keys and you walk 20 feet maybe to the bus to the airport. Highly recommend!!! Everyone was awesome. Our bus driver Juan was super friendly and helpful taking us back to the airport!

Comment: Our second booking with Alamo, and everything went smoothly once again. The shuttle from LAX to the rental car station runs every few minutes and takes about 20 minutes depending on traffic. After that, it took less than 5 minutes for us to be in the rental car. Thanks to Larry, who provided excellent service. We had booked a standard SUV and had the choice of several brands. The vehicle had 30,000 miles on it but was in very good condition. The return and transfer to the airport went smoothly and quickly. Well be happy to book with them again next year.

Comment: I totally recommend the place - we got free car upgrade and were happy that we got bigger car than we booked. The car wasn’t the cleanest at pickup, but it was well kept. It had 37k miles, no problems at all for 2 weeks of usage. We took our car 2 hours before expected pickup time, it took around 10 minutes to get there with a bus and around 10 to wait in queue to pick.

Mohamed checked us in and the lady at the counter guided us to our car that was clean and ready to go. Comment: The shuttle just happened to be right outside when we exited the airport (9am) and the ride took about 10-15 minutes to get to the Alamo/National/Enterprise lot. Despite the really full shuttle bus, the check-in at Alamo was really smooth and not that busy at all. I opted to check-in with a person versus the kiosk, but Ive read good things about the kiosk system. My favorite part about this experience (first time Alamo user), was being led to the car lot and told I could pick any car from a specific row (at least 7 different cars to choose from). Comment: As a first time car renter, our family opted to rent with Alamo through Costco Travel. The shuttle bus arrived promptly for pick up and drop off at the airport. Both drivers were very nice. Check in was a breeze and we did not have to wait too long to get the car. There were no aggressive upsell charges and what you book on the Costco website is what you pay for. The interior of the car was clean upon pick up and by the end of our trip it needed an oil change but it did not impact the overall performance of the car. Check out was also just as easy. Overall, we are satisfied with our rental and would definitely book with them again in the future.

Comment: We had a Standard SUV (SFAR) for 12 days for 902 Dollars/821 Euro. Long story short: Everything went very well and we loved our car. We did 1,700 miles / 2.800km. We had booked via the German automobile club ADAC. And everything had been chosen and paid before the journey.The hardest part was to find the shuttle bus from the Los Angeles airport to the Alamo car rental. From the arrivals at LAX we had to find our way outside to the left to find those purple little pillars, where the busses stop (Alamo signs on the bus). The driver (Aaron) was very friendly, loaded our suitcases and gave us every information we needed repeatedly (and sung!). Great guy! He dropped us at the Alamo car rental.We easily checked in, nobody wanted to sell us extra stuff, and we were sent to the parking lot outside to choose our rental at the standard SUVs ourselves. We could choose from three different cars and took a Toyota Highlander (36,000 miles) with a few minor dents and scratches around. The keys are inside the car. You can open any car an check it out. The car had a huge trunk and single seats in the back (actually it was a six seater with 2 additional seats in the trunk, if you unfold them) and was perfect for the 4 of us. We loved the car.In Google maps I found the Alamo rental return on the back of the compound. We just drove into the car return lane until someone told us to stop. The nice guy had a quick view around the car and gave us a receipt for returning the car. Before I had finished unloading, I already had gotten an confirmation email from Alamo about the returning. No extra charges.Next to the returning point (literally 30 feet/ 10 meters) two shuttle busses waited to bring us to the LAX. The driver asked for our airline, loaded the luggage and dropped us off at right terminal.It went perfectly nice. I would always choose Alamo again in the US.

Comment: Best rental experience I had so far!Free shuttles stop frequently at the airport and take you through the thick and chaotic traffic to the Alamo location, about 10 min drive away. The bus drivers are friendly and helpful with the luggage.At Alamo Dormani worked fast, polite and transparent with us. No money was blocked on the credit card, we just paid $1. No hustling us about extra insurance or navigation, they were offered once and thats it.Rasheed actually hooked us up with our amazing car. Initially we were able to choose between three base Dodge Challengers in black and silver. When I specifically asked about the Ford Mustang GT in the same row of cars, he handed me the keys without any additional charges/payment! Superbly equipped car!We had a lorry flinging two rocks at our windshield in Arizona, but because the damage was minor no problems here either!Will definitely rent with them again!

Comment: Amazing experience renting with Alamo!I was really worried about renting a car in the USA as Ive heard a lot of complaints on big rental companies, but it was so far the best experience ever!Very fast pick up with the check-in kiosk - even though I had only a debit card and I thought there would be some issues with not having a credit card - but no issues at all.We had a lot of cars to choose from in mid-size as e.g. toyota corolla, nissan versa, kia forte, hyundai Ioniq or even mini countryman, which was a nice surprise, as its crossover so I thought it should more likely to be in the suv section.We went for a countryman for extra trunk space, but we didnt realize it was a 1.5 engine size model, which was a bit too underpowered and loud when reaching 70-80mph. It had a semi-automatic gearbox which sometimes had some issues changing gears, but overall I liked the car. It was spacious inside and comfortable for doing almost 3000 miles :)Anyway, pickup was fast and hassle-free.Drop off was even better - quick service and car checkup in the meantime when we were unloading our luggage. Got an invoice straight to my email and we were ready to go to our shuttle bus to the airport. A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.Will recommend Alamo to everyone. I hope they have the same great service in Europe, so that I can rent from them again! :)

Comment: Had a great experience with Alamo. Picked up on a busy Friday afternoon and returned the following Friday, the Shuttle was quick and easy to and from the airport. Our shuttle driver ‘Monday’ was extremely personable and handled all our bags. Pickup was a breeze, we were checked in and Ready to go in less than 10 minutes within getting off the shuttle. We reserved a Jeep wrangler 4 door and got exactly what we wanted, the car was even parked right up front ready to go. The vehicle was extremely clean and included Sanitizing wipes inside. Returning the car was equally as easy, all the agents were extremely efficient in directing us where to go and processing the return. I will definitely use Alamo in the future, thanks for making our California road trip a success!

Comment: Plus side was easy check in.Not worth all the other issues unfortunately my first and last time using Alamo.I’m writing this review while I’m still in the rental I got for one day.Check in was easy. My car was ready but for a luxury suv rental I didn’t expect to see French fries and chips still in car. Just dirty in general. Not a time to skip cleaning during a pandemic.Got to my hotel and the next day my car wouldn’t start. Called roadside assistance and they let me know how much they were charging to send someone out.That will be 60$ to have a jump. First of all it’s not the battery since the lights and things are working in car. Oh then we will send a tow truck. WHAT? Charging me for YOUR faulty car ? It’s sitting in a parking space, I did not cause anything. I drove here and parked it.That was at 6am. It is now past 10 am. I have called multiple times, different locations and nobody picks up their phone. I had 3 different employees who do reservations on the phone even trying to get ahold of anyone at two different locations and told me they couldn’t either. They left messages. Called for me. Transferred me. Pretty sad when employees can’t even get ahold of them.So I’m stuck with a car that doesn’t work for the ONE day I needed a car.They say I need to be here for the tow truck but they cannot find one 3 hours later still.They said I can’t Uber to the closest location to just drop the keys.They said I can’t get a new car until this is done.So if you value your time at all don’t rent with Alamo. I’ve had ten employees tell me sorry today but can’t help me.You guys have literally knee capped my one day I was in town to see a sick family member.
