Comment: This Hybrid was tucked away someplace. The charger cable hadnt been used yet. We used 2/3 of a tank to get from SFO to Eureka. The person handling the rental did a us a green 💚 that deserves five stars. It has been amazing to see the coastal highway from this Hybrid! Thank you Alamo!

Comment: Good experience with Alamo Rent A Car at SFO airport. Car was ready on time and clean, full of gas. Was pleasantly surprised by getting a free upgrade from planned compact sedan to small SUV. Our family drove all around San Francisco in the new Nissan Rouge and was comfortable thoughout the 4 day rental period. Return process was equally smooth.

Comment: We rented a SUV for 15 days in September 23. Booked IFAR and got a Toyota RAV4 Adventure with around 38k miles and some small dings and scratches. But the car was clean on the inside and outside and was pretty well equiped with 4x4, leather seats etc. Service at the counter was fast and efficient. Would definitely rent again from Alamo.

Comment: Booked online from the UK and saved some money by paying in advance. Good price. On arrival in San Fancisco went to car rental area via the monorail...no waiting at the desk. Additional extras offered (as usual) but no pressure to buy or the usual horror stories if we didnt.Car clean and ready. Encouraged to list and take photos of any scratches and blemishes. At the exit gate the young man (sorry no name) spotted an overcharge on the computer. Supervisor was called and arrived promptly who assured me it was a mistake and would be dealt with.During our 3 week trip (3,500 miles) the car performed well and got us to some amazing places...wish I could afford this model at home.On returning the car another young man (Naser Grainger ?) said he had a note and if I went to the office I would get a written confirmation that the overcharge had been removed...this subsequently happened.Thank you Alamo for restoring my faith in rental companies..all staff friendly and honest...will use again.

Comment: Big Shout Out to Alamo Managers Ken and Jorge/George in the Parking Garage Booth. Also along with the kind young lady that checked me in when dropping off my vehicle. The whole experience was spectacular from start to finish! Would highly recommend using Alamo, especially their selection of vehicles! Ended up getting into a brand new Dodge Charger GT! What a Blast! Will always use Alamo moving forward! Avoid the long lines and unprofessionalism at rival Rental Car Agencies!

Comment: I have to say my experience at Alamo SFO was very mixed. I changed my reservation from another company that would have allowed me to go straight to the car because Alamo offered a luxury vehicle at a very good rate. This part was true. However, on the Alamo website, it said that there are check-in kiosks available. Unfortunately, all of them are out of order and closed off. I found this a little dishonest. So, I had to stand in a long line, which was very disappointing. The employee in the lot gave me yet an additional upgrade to a luxury SUV which was a positive. So, only choose this option if you care more about bang for the buck and time is less of a factor.

Comment: The employees at this Alamo were sluggish in their work, I was the second in line and had to wait for more than 40 minutes to be attended to. Since I had checked in online, I tried going directly to the pickup area, but they said I had to go back to the counter for them to issue me the agreement. What’s even the purpose of checking in online then?The customer service agent whom I had called a day before told me that in the case of exceeding the time limit, the rates are charged based on the number of hours exceeded, and not for a full day. However at the counter, they told me something different.The car that they gave me(Camry) started making loud whistling noises when I was driving on the highway. I eventually got it exchanged for another car, however it was an ordeal to return the original car with the persistent loud whistling.I’ve had good experiences with Alamo in the past, but this one left a bad taste in my mouth.Their counter as well as their pickup area both are located on the 4th floor of the rental car center at SFO airport. The air train loads and unloads passengers directly at this level.

Comment: I loved the vehicle I received but felt I was misinformed by the rep about the gas price of 4.05 being better and took the option of paying for full fillup.I would have rather paid 3.80 a gallon and filled up 1/4 tank I used before returning the vehicle but since prepaid, I could not.

Comment: All 2414 miles without problems. 16 days of comfort and cool California driving. The car was okay. Both pick-up and return were fine. No additional payments charged.The only defect on beauty, the decal of cup from the drink in the backseat. Plus standard daily driver scratches.PS: Next time, please just real American car, Dodge, Chevy ... :-)PPS: Dont take a prepaid gas! Its a trap :-) Gas is not about 5 dollars at the airport neighborhood as they say. Beter is go to San Bruno Gas, 401 San Mateo Ave, San Bruno - 2 miles from SFO Rental Car Center.

They try to give me a good deal for a convertible but the ones they had were too expensive, still they were very nice working on the best price for me. Would definitely rent a car with them when I come back to San Fran

Comment: I am disappointed in the service I received for the following reasons. The car number plate was not properly attached to the car (it looks new and I found a bracket for the plate in the trunk) as a result I had to tape the plate to stop it falling off. The seats on the car were dirty and I took pictures when I selected the car to confirm this. Most distressing of all - when I returned the car I was informed I would be charged a $100 detailing fee as I was accused of using the car off road. The car was in excellent condition except for some dust in the engine housing. I explained that I did not take the car off road and that dust and sand is present all over California. I would describe the charging fee of $100 to remove some dust from the engine housing as a scam - if there was significant dirt or damage to the car I could understand but $100 is a scam. Attaching pics for your information. Apart from this the car was great and the staff were helpful and professional. I informed the agent that I would fight any charge that would be levied and I took pictures to make my case. I am including pics of the seats when I picked up the car and the tape I had to use to secure the number plate - also a pic showing a scratch when I picked up the car. The car was returned in the same condition I picked it up in.

Comment: I really enjoyed renting from Alamo. Both times we were upgraded to better cars, the rental was quick and easy, and everybody was friendly. Our second rental was supposed to be a Mustang, but they had run out so they gave us a BMW instead! Ill definitely rent from them again!

Comment: I arrived to the airport on a late flight and had no line to wait in which was great. I had rented an 8-passenger van to which the agent asked how many people would be in the vehicle. I thought that was a strange question to ask because why did it matter? I told him I rented an 8-passenger van because there was 8 of us to which he replied that I should upgrade to a large SUV as it would better fit us. Unless they wanted to give me a comp upgrade I wasnt going to pay for it because the van was what fit our needs. Needless to say, I went outside to get the van and was told that they didnt have any. Im led to believe that the agent at the desk knew they didnt have any and was trying to get me to pay for something because of their problem which left a horrible taste in my mouth. Thankfully the agent in the garage gave me two options to choose from (upgraded SUVs) which was pleasant and told me I wouldnt have to pay for the upgrade. The Suburban we got was excellent and huge and had every option on it which made getting around the city for our 10-day vacation very nice. We did get a flat tire one day and was told wed have to drive to the closest Alamo which was over an hour away and they would swap our vehicle. I wasnt happy with that answer as I wasnt going to drive an hour in San Francisco traffic on a flat tire with a 2-year old and 4-month old in the car and not knowing what else could happen. Roadside assistance told us we could go to Enterprise which was only 10 minutes away and could swap the car there. Once there, they didnt have anything similar to swap out so I spent an hour at a tire store getting a new tire put on the car. With all that said, we ended up losing a day of our vacation. I LOVED the car and really enjoyed having it during our vacation, so much so that Im looking into purchasing one for our personal vehicle. Upon return of the car, I let the agent know that we left the paperwork in the car for the new tire so they would have record of it and that we lost a day of vacation over the fiasco which seemed to get brushed off on. It wouldve been nice to have some sort of sympathy and courtesy over the trouble we went through on this. The reason for the 3-star is because of service and not the vehicle quality itself.

Comment: Overall, a good experience. They gave me a car that I really enjoyed at a decent price.The only thing that kept it from being a perfect experience was that the fuel prepayment procedure was not completely explained to me. I assumed that if I only used half a tank, I would only pay for half a tank. However, I ended up having to pay for a full tank, even though I used less than half. Needless to say, I wont make that mistake again. However, I will definitely rent with Alamo again.

Comment: Alamo is far and away our favorite company to rent a vehicle. Their cars are clean and well maintained, the staff are helpful and not pushy like other companies. Also, I know I wont get ripped off and charged extras for insurance, minor scratches and tolls etc.
