Great quiches! We order every time were up.
The food here is amazing and not just the baked goods. Also, the staff are fantastic and super helpful. This is a must go place for anyone up enjoying Torch Lake.
The place looks super cute and the location is fantastic. However, when it comes to taking protective measures related to COVID they only had a plexiglass in front of the register and no one (customers or employees) were wearing a mask. For this reason we didn’t even go in so, we can’t comment on the quality of the food.
Amazing food! They have muffins and waffles that melt in your mouth! Fresh fruit and Michigan maple syrup. The breakfast sandwiches and quiche are also delicious. I highly recommend them!
Very cute, very slow, somewhat dry muffins. Excellent quiche!!! Dont get the matcha - it globs on the bottom of the glass.

This place is amazing. My husband and I had egg & avocado salad sandwich and salmon bagel for lunch. Everything was fresh and delicious.We highly recommend this place. It should be a must stop on your way to town.
Partly my own fault for not asking, but I assumed that picking a dairy free milk for the chai latte would mean it was dairy free. It was not!! Haha - must have been in the mix! It was good, but not spending the afternoon feeling like you got punched in the gut by Mike Tyson good.
My husband and I stopped here because of a recommendation from a friend and we were not disappointed. The gluten free blueberry cheesecake muffin was wonderful and so was the red pepper quiche.
Excellent fare with stellar coffee. Very impressed! We send on our customers to sample this sweet stop in Alden.
What a quaint place to eat. Really a cute little place for a quick bite. The menu is limited, but the food is great. We met up with some family there and am glad we did. Only reason not a 5 is the waitress seemed to be in a hurry with removing plates and a little slow with refills on beverages. I would visit again for sure. Try it out, you wont be disappointed.

More than just muffins---well worth a stop on your next trip around Torch Lake! In addition to muffins, this iconic little Alden joint offers a delicious selection of coffee/tea drinks, as well as a terrific lunch menu! My family has been enjoying the Muffin Tin for many years and it just would not be Helena Road without it. Owners Butch and Cindy are a delight, their food is terrific, and visiting is a highlight of trips to our favorite Torch Lake town. In the past couple of years, weve really grown to love eating lunch on their deck (which I swear has the best view in the whole town). The wait staff is friendly as can be and the menu is always sure to hit the spot. Or just grab a drink and set up in the cafe to read, work, and watch the people go by!
Fabulous quiche, delicious muffins and awesome coffee await you and owners are sooo nice too. We made this a breakfast destination and were glad we did. Dont miss this spot on your fall color tour.

GREAT SERVICE! The quiche Lorraine was excellent as was the macaroni and cheese. Cori the server was excellent. So glad that mamas cuntry kitchens service was so bad and we decided to come here instead.
The oatmeal muffin was good and moist but the pumpkin walnut head dry and without flavor. My mocha was also without that silky foam thats always wanted at the top and didnt have great flavor either. I wanted to like it all but just couldnt unfortunately :(.
We stopped by on our way to Bellaire for the weekend. The place is super cute, great sandwich & THEY allow well well behaved dogs on their deck!!! Win win for us!! We will be back.
Small town pastries and bar. The owner and his employee where very engaging. My sistetlaw loved they had gluten free muffins and very reasonably priced.

2021-08-03THE BEST! My wife and I stopped by on an early August Sunday morning on the way to Torch Lake. What an awesome find! We were in a rush so we ordered avocado toast and a salmon lox bagel to go. While we waited, got a couple screwdrivers to enjoy our morning. The Muffin Tin has a nice cocktail menu as well as mimosas or cocktails made to order.Their patio is very pleasant and was full. There are about a dozen tables and about six barstools at the bar area. Our server Cindy, who was a part owner was excellent.My wife enjoyed the Avocado toast, and I thought my bagel with lox was excellent. We enjoyed our breakfast to go so much, we stopped by for lunch the next day. We had a nice conversation with Butch, the other co-owner and Cindy’s husband. Butch was very knowledgeable of the area and suggested a few nice hikes.On day two I had a BLT which was delicious. My wife loved the avocado toast so much, she ordered it again. The avocado was fresh and had just enough slice without over powering the avocado. Excellent!We didn’t have room in our stomachs for their muffins, but by the looks of them and reviews from customers we talked to, the baked goods are fantastic.We live in California. Since my wife has family in Michigan, we plan on returning next summer. The Muffin Tin will definitely be in our list of places to visit.If you are in the area, definitely stop by for a visit.

2021-11-13The pinnacle of small town bakery/breakfast shops. Ive long been a fan of small bakeries and breakfast shops that place an emphasis on quality food, excellent service and reasonable prices. The Muffin Tin embodies all of this and more. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Its become a weekly spot for us to enjoy the delicious food and scenery Torch Lake has to offer. The staff is incredible and ensures no minor detail goes unnoticed.

2021-09-10Ive been to lots of tourist town bakery/coffee shop type deals over the course of my life, and this one has been my best experience by far. If I could give six stars, I would. Their customer service is amazing; they will go to just about any length to please and accommodate, and make you feel valued and considered. On top of that, their food is quality; its all made in-house. The quiches in particular are fantastic. And everything is way cheaper than youd expect!

2021-07-30Alden Muffin Tin is an absolute delight. The food is perfect for a laid back up north breakfast experience. The bagel sandwich is great, especially on a very fresh everything bagel. The blueberry and almond French toast is amazing. Though I did not order one, it is very nice that they offer Bloody Marys to sip on a very comfortable porch. Everytime my wife and I visit Torch Lake

2021-08-02My family and I come up to Torch Lake every summer and are grateful that we have a place to bike to in town. I feel slightly better that I have burned a few calories before eating muffins! The customer service is very friendly and helpful and work as a team. I always get an assortment of muffins and some of my favorites include birthday cake and lemon poppyseed. Love supporting a small business in a town I love 🙂

2021-06-15Regularly go here for coffee, chai latte, and breakfast sandwiches / avocado toast. All are high quality. The muffins and cookies are a rare treat for wife and I. Both are incredible.What sets the Tin apart from other places in the area is the owner and his team. They are aways friendly and genuinely concerned that each customer has a great experience. Nearly all owners are deeply involved in business success. This leader is able to instill the importance of customer service in the fabric of his team which is the true accomplishment. Other area restaurants could learn a lot by observing this formula. The food is a winner and the service is over the top. I love this place.
