ALDI in other cities:
Like most Aldis the place is small but stocked well. I stopped in to find items that were sold out of my local stores in Ann Arbor...bonus, they had the items and other ones that I found that I have never seen in my area. I hear they are opening another store on the west side of Jackson...closer for me to shop at. Good prices and selection.
This is a clean store with lots of good food to buy that dont have tons of ingredients. The employees are professional and helpful. Youll spend a lot less than you would at almost any other store, just remember that there are few brand name items here and that helps make things less expensive.
Aldis. Great place to save your hard earned money. There are a few things however, that I buy elsewhere. The fresh fruit at Aldis has never been up to par as far as Im concerned. Bananas, grapes, berries, and kewis are good, but if you want a decent peach or pear, forget about it. Coffee? not so good, but the do offer K-Cups as of late. The meat is okay, but if you want a specific cut, not going to happen. Its all packaged elsewhere. If your not used to this type of store, there is a slight learning curve, but pretty easy to get the hang of, really. Bring your own bags, or buy them there at checkout pretty cheaply. Ive watched over the years, and slowly but surely, a different class of customer is coming to the store. You can tell the new converts, as they always look apprehensive. Unsure. I do 80% of my grocery shopping at Aldis.
The prices are decent if you are a grocery shopper & know your stuff. Produce at my local is iffy at times, so I’m picky.I do get highly irate at the lack of cashiers. Today it took 22 minutes to get through the ONE AND ONLY cashier.Meanwhile, corporate guy was walking around with 3-6 people (depending where he was), and those of us SPENDING MONEY stood in long lines watching Corp guy lead the rainbow mask people around the store.Usually there is no corporate guy, but STILL a HUGE lack in cashiers.
Kind of messy and disorganized compared to other locations but not as bad since they rearranged everything last year. Normally pretty good customer service but a couple employees suddenly feel the need to try making decisions about customers bodies instead of minding their own business behind their own mask and plexiglass.
I love Aldi. They have good quality foods at great prices. You need to really check the produce for damage or spoiled items but they are starting to get more produce from in the US. The simply nature line is great. The LiveFree, gluten free, line is really expanding. In my opinion you cant go wrong when you shop at Aldi.
Unfortunately on my trip to Aldis the other day I was taking the bus home, when I was walking across their decorative rocks just to step over to the sidewalk my ankle twisted in the racks and I severely ripped my tendons and my ankle and fractured both sides of my pivot area.my suggestion to all these have some thoughts to people that mayhave to take the bus, and make a small sidewalk that leads to the bus to make it easy for people to walk onto your property... And yes I went to the hospital I had an EMT come and pick me up because I could not walk a woman saw me fall from Huntington bank and came over and her husband helped me into their vehicle and she gave me a ride home because I couldnt even move my foot here it is a week later and Im still having issues its still very swollen. I just think that whoever had the idea for the decorative rocks was an amazing idea however you didnt think about society when you didnt put a sidewalk leading to the bus stop that clearly is in front of your business. Bad judgment call.
Recently made the switch from Meijer. Large stores have gotten really overwhelming lately and Aldis size alone drew me in. I’m definitely saving money and to my surprise Aldi tries to use no food dyes etc in their products so it’s healthier for my family. Win win! Give them a try, you won’t be disappointed!!
We absolutely love this place. An entire cart load of good quality groceries for literally hundreds less than the average large chain store pricing. Quality ingredients at a fraction of the price. Once you get used to their products, youll never pay $4 plus for a bag of chips again. Large choice of meats and groceries free of all the ingredients that are believed to unhealthy for consumption. Highly recommend. You will save hundreds on your grocery bill each and ever month. Seems like we always find something new that we like that cost 50% less than other stores. You will have get used to bringing and bagging your own. I bring large containers to place items in once checking out. Youll get used to it and it will be well worth the savings.
The prices are good and there’s a decent selection of groceries and household items. I have had problems with the cashier Ayesha. She leaves her cashier drawer when she’s the only person working in that area and often has an attitude when I’m checking out in her lane. The other cashiers I’ve talked with are great though.
Seems like no matter what time I go they always have lines with only half of the registers open. The prices have also crept up to and in several cases exceeded other stores. Aldis is supposed to be affordable, but instead they are just over priced store brands now. I prefer Meijer, they at least have more choice at similar prices.
I have shopped at Aldi for years and every single time that I have shopped there has been excellent ! Ive always been treated with kindness and respect. The prices are more than reasonable and consistent. The they offer other items i.e. tools, toys, cooking and clothing items at unbeatable prices. Theres good parking space and a unique shopping cart system. Its a great place to shop.
Its a good little store for some items. Ive started to notice that some products you can get other places a lot cheaper and better quality. And the one cashier during rush time really stinks. I do love their special products isle. There are so many unique food items. It stinks though when you find something you love and they never get it in again.
Selection is lacking since the viral outbreak but they still have a lot. They have restrictions on buying so no one person can hoard. This makes it annoying when I need 5 or more cans of something for a big recipe but understandable none the less. Fresh foods and some wine, who could ask for more.
Always fast checkout, they are remodeling right now, but I got in and out quickly anyways. Just a little paint smell to deal with. I love that there arent tons of choices so you can be done fast, good products for a great price. Love the cheese crackers, coffee, chips, chocolate, nutsand many more items, gluten free and natural foods there too.
Overcrowded is a understatement. Thought my wife and I would try a new store especially because of all the chatter off how great the prices are here.I must say that prices are good and store is OK in my eyes.of brand isnt normal for us so we thought we would try items we normally buy at meijers and so far were impressed with what we bought. 88$Goes a long way at aldis. We are going to return for items we found meet our expectations.
Aldis never ceases to amaze me. Every time I go, I find something new to try. Their prices are so low that I can get more for my money--making it easier to get the things I need and stay within my budget. And now they have expanded their produce section, and much of their seasonal baking supplies. Very organized shopping experience as well.
Its the only place to shop! They have a large variety of goods and an excellent selection for organic produce and products as well as vegan options as well. Theyre meat is actually of good quality as well and I am very picky about the meat I buy. An entire cart that would cost 100s of dollars at any other grocery store is half the price at aldi without sacrificing quality. The ONLY reason this isnt a 5 star rating is because the overall friendliness and helpfulness of the employees is not impressive.
I go to this store reguarly and I love it! The workers are efficient, kind, and helpful! A lot of their foods are very quality, using natural ingredients. My only issue is the lack of fruits and veggies. They have the staples(if you will) but if you want something like off the top of my head: cellery, they do not carry. If you live within the Jackson area, consider this place!!You wont regret it I promise! The best egg, milk and almond milk prices I have found so far!!
I read a article that stated ALDI would give Trade Joes a run for their money...not really. They are inexpensive yes, but they dont have the selection of organic or prepared that TJ has. However, it is a great no thrills shop and Im not paying for fluff that some chains have.
I love this place and I go shopping at least twice a month here.Ive been here a few times and have not had a bad experience. It can get crowded because theres quite a few shoppers. So far everything I have bought or tried hasnt been a disappointment. And your money goes a lot further there.
Aldi is my go-to grocery store. Great prices and I love that they have tons of healthy options, including all natural and organic. I dont get distracted with too many choices since they only select the best quality items and if they cant match it in quality with their brand they sell the brand name. Just dont forget to bring your own bags and a quarter for a cart!
My family really likes aldi easy shopping and great value! Most of the time we find everything we need and always save a bunch of money shopping at aldi. Drawback is the lines can be long at times however they move pretty quickly so it’s not too bad. Great place to get your groceries and extras at an affordable price.
Best place to buy groceries. Their prices are incomparable with other grocery stores. Produce is the same as any other store, refering to their freshness. My only complaint is their limited variety for some stuff. But none the less a fair trade off for the prices. Good amount of vegan, vegiatian, organic options. Great prices, cashiers are fastest this side of the Huron River.
If you can get over not having the name brand youll save a ton of cash. We cut down our grocery shopping trips by at least $50 a week coming here. Not everything has the perfect substitute here but most things are outstanding. The produce tends to go bad within two days. Will be trying another grocers produce for comparison.
Excellent prices. Many items are healthier with fewer chemical additives, yet cheaper than regular grocery store. Use their spare boxes or buy their bags or bring your own. Also a quarter to borrow a cart...you get it back afterwards when you return the cart. Their off-brand K-cups are horrid and should be avoided, but that is the only bad thing I have found yet from Aldi.
Store is the cheapest in town for quality items. Groceries are cheap and are of quality. Large supreme pizza with thick crust only $3. Only complaint I have is the store is small. Its got Meijer sized customer traffic and the store size is just a tad bit better than a dollar general. They usually are fast but sometimes they dont have enough lanes open. Aldi should consider buying space somewhere and moving to a larger building.
As is the case every time I am there, When I needed help to find something, an able and willing associate was there to give me all of the direction I needed. One associate named Faith has been especially helpful on numerous occasions and thoughtful. I always look forward to seeing her.
I was challenged by my friend to try to do the majority of my grocery shopping at Aldi in attempt to gauge true savings. Im a bargain/coupon/sale shopper and have a pretty good idea on the cheapest I can buy items for as well as quality. In the past, I shied away from purchasing groceries at Aldis due to a fear of low-quality and foreign products. She assured me to look up their website and read about the changes that theyve made in the past 5 years or so. Aldi does not provide products with certain dyes, gmos, ect. So, I figured I didnt have much to lose. I started by creating my grocery list and including an estimated price for each item based on what I could likely purchase it for on sale or with coupon from another store. Then, I went to my local Aldi store and purchased everything plus a few other things(that I believed to be good deals as long as they tasted well). After checkout I was amazed! I had expected to spend $135 and my total had only came to $89! Still a little leary, I waited to make my final decision until we had tasted and ate my purchases. I am pleased to report I took the Aldi challenge, loved the quality of products, have been back a few more times since, still loving it, saved over $50 on my last grocery expenditure and am now a loyal Aldi customer. I highly recommend shopping for most of your grocery needs at Aldi and challenge you to track your savings vs quality at your local Aldi. I would like to add that the bathrooms were very clean, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and my husband loves there chewy chocolate chip cookies!....OH! and bring your own bags or use empty boxes in store. Also, a quarter inserted into cart for cart use...you will get back quarter when you return the cart after shopping. Happy savings!
We have been shopping at Aldi for years. They have quality foods at below brand names prices. We buy most our foods at Aldi, as they dont carry everything you may need. Its like going shopping and every item in the store is sale priced (98% of the time they are less expensive then any sale price on same item products at other stores)
You cannot go wrong with a trip to Aldi. If youre okay with off brands, you can save some coin here. You bag your own groceries, oh, and bring a quarter to rent a shopping cart. You get it back when you return the cart. Brilliant idea, which eliminates the bagboys from retrieving carts in the parking lot. Wait...WHAT bag boys? Oh ya...
Aldi is different from the average grocery store chain. Their layout and process from start to finish looks different. But dont let that scare you away because they have the cheapest and best products in town. All of their produce is usually great and super cheap. If your tired of overpaying Aldi is the place to try out. They do not bag any of our groceries, you can bring your own or buy theirs. Their carts cost 25 cents to use but you get it back when you return the cart. They also have general merchandise which is always cool stuff and really inexpensive. (Seasonal items) Overall Aldi is the way to go for all of your shopping needs!
Good prices the best prices in town quality meats great salmon choices fresh salmon I won t shop at any other store in Jackson for my grocery they are priced put of this work walmarmart is supposed to be for the community lots of jobs at minimum wages prices were supposed to be cheap when they first talked about opening in Jackson but it didnt take the long to raise there prices right along with Kroger and Meijer did it all they are is another chain store taking advantage of the working man like all the rest but aldis

2022-04-23They always have a great selection and good prices. I think the one in Ann Arbor is a little nicer looking overall. Where they put the chocolate syrup was crazy! - at the end/beginning of the juice isle!!!! I had to have help finding it.

2022-06-06Great selection of nuts, cheese, fruit, vegetables, and select seasonal foods in the freezer section. Spiral sliced hams are a good choice there too. All at a very affordable price.

2022-04-26We love this place! Bagging your own groceries may be a little inconvenient, but it really helps our grocery bill especially with the recent rise in inflation.

2022-04-03I liked the renovations, but the prices are not much different than Kroger or Meijer, and they didnt have much to choose from.

2021-06-26These folks run a tight ship! Merchandise is orderly and constantly being stocked & condensed. Lines move swiftly even when the carts are towering with contents. People are polite & helpful. The selection is decent & products are quality ( if like me you remember the Aldi from the olden days when it was the bottom tier market, it has changed a lot) and reasonably priced. I can fulfill nearly all my grocery needs here. The only exceptions are certain frivolities that I dont buy very often anyhow.FYI : For the cottage cheese lovers out there who have found the store brands at Meijer, Kroger & Walmart have gone all soupy/watery, to the point of being nearly inedible....Give Aldis a try. Its not bone dry, but it isnt soup like the other stores. Flavor is great too. If you are frugal like me and use it in lasagna instead of ricotta, it works MUCH better there too!
