The is far on of the best Italian restaurant in Oakland County. They have a variety of Italian dishes not too much not to little. We think the portions and price are very fair. The staff know there customers by name.Nick ,George, Sandy,Mundee & the entire staff are great .We have been going there for over 15 years +We always have a great experience. Thank you Sunny & staff.
I am shocked about the food quality that I received tonight. I never had chicken piccata where it was breaded and fried. Usually from this restaurant I receive quality food but I’m just highly disappointed at the $80 takeout that I received tonight the side salads only had onions not even tomatoes. I am just in awe of disappointment. They seem severely understaffed and overworked I would expected a lot better quality from this restaurant because in the past I have received great quality food.
I’m usually not a fan of Italian food. Went in with some family and the food, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. We had a great time. The service was an experience and our waiter was a character for sure. We love the place. It’s an hour and a half drive for us and we’re gonna do it all over again sometime soon. 10/10
The first thing you should know about this place is that its very homesy. Its not going to have that modern chic vibe that is populating metro Detroit now. Sometimes that is great. They have a large menu that has some entries that distract from the classical Italian dishes this place offers. It feels like you went to your aunts and uncles house for a Sunday dinner. Flavor is focused over design. The salad they offer also looks like a standard iceberg lettuce based salad and is in need of more of a variety in flavors/colors. They tried their best.
The atmosphere is great, and our server was very good. The food was eh. Ive had better Italian at bravo for the price honestly. Thats the killer. The prices are Outrageous! I had the Chicken Marsala. The chicken breast was very dry and overcooked. The Marsala sauce did not have enough balance between the mushroom and the wine and lemon. My wife had the Chicken Parm. Hers was a little better. But the pasta sauce tasted like it was hunts out of a can a little spruced up. Both those dishes were $25 ea. Which I dont mind paying if its really good, but this was not. The calamari appetizer however was delicious.
I wish I had gotten a photo. The chicken Marsala was delightful. The tiramisu was heavenly. I hadnt been here in about 25 years, but Im so happy my husband and I rediscovered it. I love the atmosphere, and the service is wonderful. My husband even re-proposed, and we are going to be renewing our vows soon! This dinner was part of our anniversary weekend, and I on cloud 9.
Eggplant parmigiana was just heavy cheese over soggy breading. Kids meal were very limited and portions are extremely small. My 8 yo needed two orders to be full. Prime rib was over done with sides (old stringy green beans and red skin potatoes) that were not even edible. The bread were served cold and dry. Server was unavailable majority of the time despite the place was empty.
One of the best Italian restaurants we have been to! We have eaten here over 20 times and always had amazing food! Excellent taste, freshness and great portions. I have also had parties of over 20 people here in the last few years and would highly recommend them for events once things get better with COVID situation and restrictions. Awesome staff that’s very friendly and professional! Great service!!!
We always come back. Great food. Tons of alcohol to choose from. The waiter I always forget his name because he changes his name each time we meet to a different type of noodle has some of the best humor possible without hovering or trying to hard. Great place to take the family put to. Also clean facilities.
• Old school Italian place, simple and understandable menu, good wines, food slightly bit bland though.• The place was nice and comfortable, gave that old school Italian feel, servers seemed first gen Italian. Wines were good and not too expensive. Salad was nice. My veal florentine was good, the veal was tender and nice, but the sauce was a little bit bland.• Espresso and tiramisu at the end hit the spot nicely.
We stopped at the Auburn Hills location the first time because it was still open at 9:00 pm. Now, we go there all the time! We have not had any meal that wasnt absolutely delicious and we have tried many of them. Excellent Italian options and something on the menu for all appetites! I love their jumbo shrimp, salads,, calamari, minestrone soup,, meatballs and everything Italian. Most importantly, the staff. What a team of awesome and excellent people from George to Nick to Sandy... all great!
Not sure what I just ate ot was supposed to be chicken marsala. 😕 looked and tasted like a sweet brown gravy 🤮. came with a side of spaghetti with red sauce. why? the red sauce tasted ok but still opted for just the spaghetti to go with the chicken. I think they should try an actual Italian restaurant. even olive garden is better than this place. leaving with a stomach ache.
Had Chicken Piccata... was fantastic! The host, who may have been the owner, was very friendly and attentive. Came in with a co-worker after we got off job site... thought it might be casual dining place... its a little more formal, but he said not to worry and to eat because we looked hungry.
A very cozy, clean italian restaurant with classic fair and friendly waitstaff. My only real complaint was that babys chicken tenders were undercooked: they said they werent raw as they came fully cooked, but they looked verrry pink to me. They very happily and apologetically remade the chicken tenders and fries and we were happy too.I enjoyed the app, a nice calamari. The complimentary bread was bread but I felt it was lacking something. Salt? I dont know. Still very hot and satisfying.House salads were fresh and had a great dressing.I had the rosemary chicken: half a chicken with veg, which turned out to be pretty over cooked green beans but seasoned well, nonetheless.SOs dish was the chicken parm with a side of spaghetti. Chicken was tender and cooked well, but I am personally not a fan of spaghetti with red sauce. He said it was 3.5 out of 5. Solid. The wait staff was super friendly and attentive; it seemed like everyone there had been there before and was greeted like they were family.I would return, maybe not be a regular, but any place with free bread always gets me back at least once.
This restaurant has the worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten. The Veal Marsala came in a thick, gray, maple gravy 🤢 The veal had been frozen and reheated. My replacement meal, Chicken Piccata, consisted of two small chicken breasts. with a runny and almost clear lemon parsley sauce. The chicken looked and tasted like precooked, frozen chicken breasts which had been reheated. Keep in mind, it took less than five minutes for them to make the latter after the Veal Marsala was sent back. I’ve been to many excellent Italian restaurants and this is without doubt the worst I’ve ever experienced.
Delicious food however I was unpleasantly surprised by the pits in the olives in my salad. According to what Im seeing online thats pretty normal for an antipasto salad (this was my first time ordering one) but it would be nice if there was some kind of warning for those accustomed to just digging into black olives or those trying it for the first time.
I always have a special order and they are so accommodating......Its the piccata sauce with mushrooms, tomatoes, spinach, with penne noodles - topped with parmesan of course - its delicious! I am so grateful for this authentic, reasonably priced gem of a restaurant! Sandy is the best waitress - so friendly and really makes your dining experience special!
I was was in the auburn hills area with my 3 kids looking for a place to eat. We decided to give this place a shot. There was a very nice dark hair young lady who brought us to our table and got us our drinks. Very friendly. Our waiter, a young man in his early 20s, was a wealth of information on the menu, answered our questions and was extremely courteous. He kept our bread basket full, kept the drinks comming, and the overall service was phenomenal! You could really tell he is an experienced professional waiter, enjoys being there, and really likes to do a good job! My kids loved their fish and chips, I loved the Italian platter, my other son loved the lasagna. We also had the flaming cheese and lava cake/ ice cream for desert. We live in Leonard. We will be passing up many good restraunts to come back to this one!!!
Service was amazing! I think we got end of the night soup because the minestrone was very thick with hardly any broth, but Im not one to turn away food or complain to the staff. My tortellini was phenomenal and my husband and I loved the bread! He had the Italian platter and it was huge. But really what made the experience so great was the staff from when we were first greeted to the whole duration we were sat. Thanks for providing us with a wonderful dinner during these weird times!!!
Calamari fritti was delicious! Light and crispy outside with perfectly chewy meat. Garlic bread was some of the best Ive had. Italian platter was very good! Chicken parmesan was soft enough to cut with a fork. Lasagna was tasty and solid (not runny). Fettuccine Alfredo was delicious. Only drawback was the glass of wine I got was almost room temperature (which may be how it was supposed to be) when I prefer my wine chilled.I would definitely go there for special occasions for exceptional Italian dishes.
The atmosphere and menu were extraordinary but the food quality and our waitress Sandy topped it all. Sandy was fabulous and helped us enjoy our time while our Semi was being repaired at Reefer Peterbilt. We highly recommend the Spaghetti loaded with the 4 extras and the WONDERFUL Italian Flag Entree....they were SO good.
First, I have to say that Dale was an excellent server. He made our dining experience memorable and fun. We took our family, that were visiting, and they were very impressed. We enjoyed the service and Dale provided excellent customer service. I will be visiting this place again.
I came in from Nashville Tn.to celebrate my birthday. The customer service was outstanding and the food was amazingly delicious, i couldnt stop eating it and i was stuffed. This is by far the best Italian restaurant Ive ever visited. I actually said before the end of my visit that I wanted to go back , to have a meal before i fly out.
As others have mentioned, this has an old world and authentic feel. We did take out and ordered the Tri-platter of Lasagna, Alfredo and Chicken Parmigiano. The red sauce tasted like it was cooked all day! One if the best red sauces we have ever had. Pasta tasted fresh and home made, Alfredo sauce was great. Also ordered salmon salad, it was OK. Prices are high but decent value.
We are from Grand Haven, MI and came to Auburn Hills for a Family Get Away. We got to the restaurant a bit before 7pm, there were 2 other tables of people there...we started off great with the Appetizers. We placed our order shortly after 7pm...still had no Entrees at 8:15pm. The table next to us came in after us, ordered their food and was finishing up their meals...and we still did not have our entrees. We stopped a Waitress, and asked her to bring a bill for our drinks & appetizers, and to cancel our order. Within minutes, they were bringing our meals...but, now we needed to go boxes due to it being way later than planned and our son needed his medication. They gave us (family of 4) 1 slice of cheesecake for free and a $95.00 bill for waiting over an hour just to take our food back to the hotel, cold in Styrofoam containers. They told us the kitchen got a bit backed up...but yet, customers that came in after us were served, enjoyed their meals and were heading out the door. The Alfredo Sauce was also extremely loose, bland and had no seasoning...Ragu Alfredo out of a jar has more flavor than this sauce did.We were extremely disappointed in this restaurant and how they handled the situation.
This place charged be 40 forChicken Marsala and shrimp scampi . The shrimp scampi was only 5 pieces the sauce wasn’t good just butter no flavor. The Marsala wasnt good at all besides the chicken it’s self. The sauce was straight Marsala no other flavor last. Mushrooms same thing too strong in wine no other flavor. Nothing to really go well my meal and had no rice it was supposed too. Just not happy.
Awesome! First time dining at Alfoccino - already looking forward to returning! The food was phenomenal and the restaurant has a cozy, inviting feel. Lellis pales in comparison. Unlike Lellis, Alfoccino has high quality food at much more reasonable prices! See you soon!
Had a large order that I placed for a Christmas Eve family dinner. Sandy a manager was very accommodating and friendly. Picked up food and was helped loading it into my vehicle. The food was very good, even after the travel time. I highly recommend the food and cant wait for a normal to return to dine in. There a very few good Italian restaurants left, please support this restaurant, to ensure it is still there in the future.
We have been going to Alfoccino for years. It has an old fashioned feeling of family dining. The food is amazing and always plentiful. And. . . It arrives at your table hot from the kitchen, not medium warm from under warming lights. Most importantly, the staff is what makes Alfoccino a wonderful restaurant. They really care that you are satisfied and having an an enjoyable meal.Recently, we had their take out. The meal was delicious. The packaging was such that our food was still hot when we arrived back home. We will be returning for take out many times this winter. I highly recommend Alfoccino.
I have been enjoying the food at Alfoccinos for well over 25 years. After closing the Farmington Hills location, their other location was about 40 minutes further away but still worth the drive. Their salad dressing is simple and really makes the mixed Italian garden salad tasty. The lasagna is superb. The service has always been good even at peak times and its good to see some of the staff from Farmington Hills still providing the same great service at the current spot.
I tried this restaurant for the first time and was unimpressed. I ordered the cheese filled ravioli with meat sauce for $15, a Caesar salad, and fried calamari. The ravioli came in 6 big noodles with lots of sauce, but hardly any meat. I could not believe that is what this placed called “meat sauce”. Sauce was flavorful, but the portion was very small for the price. Noodles were very good. Food was like warm at best.Calamari was good and a decent portion for an app.The Caesar salad was terrible. The dressing was like a vinaigrette. Parmesan was a cheap shake on top. Salad did not taste fresh.Bread rolls came with the meal which were very inconsistent. Some were good and some were old and hard.
I got the Pollo Tortellini which is way over priced for the quality of the food. $18.50 for frozen grilled chicken that looks to be reheated in the microwave and store bought tortellini. I wouldnt be surprised if the sauce was store bought as well. The garlic bread wasnt that good either, hardly any garlic or flavor at all. Very very very small side salad, one slice of a tomato and one slice of a cucumber. All the good stuff gone in one bite leaving nothing but lettuce which there wasnt much of that either. This meal isnt even worth $9.99 not alone the $18.50 they are charging. Will never be ordering from this restaurant again. Scam!!!!!!The Italian dressing was good.......
We really enjoyed dinner here! They had great gluten free pasta and sauce options for my husband. I highly recommend the pollo tortolino. I loved our server, Im not sure if he was maybe the owner? He is the sweetest man. My husband had the gluten free Alfredo and my mother had the regular Alfredo. Its worth the hour drive to come back!
Good food, Nice building. I believe in tipping well for good service, and it should be my discretion. But my bill came with a 20% tip already included. If a restaurant is going to force me to pay their workers then they should pay their staff better and include it in the pricing. A Tip is, and should be, at the customers discretion based on quality of service.
Ive only gotten carry out so I cant speak about the level of service, but the food is great. Whats special about this place is its classic Italian and there arent alot of those places left. I get the toasted ravioli and its incredible. I cannot even find another restaurant that offers it on their menu. I also get the pesto pasta. Its a creamy sauce with mushrooms, sun dried tomatoes and grilled chicken cooked perfectly.
Horrible service! Was here with my husband and myself in the afternoon. The server Sandy who attended our table was so rude that she hardly greeted us with a smile, let alone check us again after the food was served. We had ordered all-you-can-eat soup and salad and she never came with refills for breadsticks or anything else unless we asked. And she never let us complete making requests because she would break our sentence midway. Each time she would swoosh past our booth and never stop to ask if we wanted anything. Honestly she frightened us with her attitude that we wanted to just finish our meal and leave asap. Allison who was at the reception was kind and the ambience of the restaurant was good. The meal was fine too but what good is it without a decent service?!
The sandwich I ordered was completely devoid of any flavor whatsoever. It was an open face chicken sandwich and I got it without mushrooms and green peppers. It was drenched in grease from the cooked onions and the bottom bun was mush. The french fries served with the sandwich had more flavor than the entire sandwich. For being a fancier looking restaurant I was expecting much better food than what I got. I will not be coming back to this restaurant.
I had veal p. and spaghetti. The veal p. is so small and limber. Than they pile a lot of cheese and sauce on top. So you wont notice. It taste good but you being cheated. I have gone to other Italian Res. The veal is much bigger and crispy. The food is good but it is not worth $16.95
My new favorite place. New to the area and this is great Italian. Fresh garlic bread served hot. Wine was great but not too pricey. Food was real good and had to get a box because it was too much to eat. Salad fresh. Server knowledgeable. Will be back again and again.
Nice place, 3 stars is what I found the whole experience to be worth. I know all places want 5 stars but that takes fine dining and food you just dont experience every day. This is an every day kinda place. Not bad not great, good! Lasagna burned and mostly meat sauce, wheres the pasta? Other dishes were just ok. I hope I explained my experience and the three star rating for the owner.
By far the best food I have ever tasted! The staff are astounding and caring! Each bite was like Heavan, and I had the best waiter that Ive ever had. His manners were amazing! I did something I never had done and found the owner just to compliment him on his amazing restaurant! 10/10!!
I travel around the US, and have eaten at many Italian restaurants. This restaurant was excellent! I ordered the special filet w/ blue cheese, mushrooms over eggplant. Tasty! The salad Italian dressing was great, too. Also, the timing of when the food came out and service were excellent!
This was some good food! I had a order of spaghetti with meat sauce and mushrooms, salad, bread, tiarimisu, a beer and an espresso for $32 plus tip. The portion on the spaghetti was large and the desert was just right on portion. My waitress was really nice and checked on me regularly but not too much. I got here at about 6:15 and it got pretty busy around 6:30.
First time been here, though I lived in Auburn hills for couple of years. Very tasty food. Great complimentary buns. Our server honestly said about the quantity of food we were about to order. So we avoided overspending and wasting food. Kids menu comes with a drink and dessert which is great! The interior is so cozy and great bar. The price is fair and very quiet.
Awesome place to try out atheistic Italian food. Upon entering, you will be treated as a valued customer and not just a number. It’s a hidden restaurant, but once one feels the environment and customer service it will bring your party, partner, friend, or even family to the warm heart of an Italian traditional dinner!
Outstanding Italian food. I live close by and havent been here in a couple years. This last trip was great. Excellent service, food was full of flavor and prepared to perfection. Recommend to travelers looking for a great dinner. Prices are what you would expect for good Italian food, not over priced. We be back often.
I was in the area traveling and luckily stumbled upon Alfoccino. I had the Italian Flag Combo and was blown away. The pasta was home mode and perfectly al dente. The filling was rich, creamy and over the top tasteful. I loved the pesto sauce and the meat sauce. The rolls were just the icing on the cake. I love Italian and this place did it right. I wish Covid was not around because the dining room looked magnificent and I wish I could have enjoyed the atmosphere. I would eat here weekly if I lived around here!
This place is a fantastic family owned Italian restaurant in our neighborhood. I always enjoy our visits. As well as great home made Italian dishes, it has wonderful ambiance! It is great for a romantic dinner, or quaint small group gatherings. They also advertise catering. However, I have not used this service yet. If you visit Auburn Hills, I highly recommend you visit for lunch or dinner.
Excellent food. Take notice that at this time their Grubhub listing is incorrect as far as the time they open. Currently as of 11/3/2020 they open at 2:30 pm, and in Grubhub it is incorrectly set at 11:30am. Grubhub will take your order even though the place is closed.
Great food at a great price! Warm, helpful, attentive and funny staff. For what you pay you would expect small portions and run of the mill American-Itallian food, but from the start of fresh bread from the oven, to the salad with their divine house dressing to the large plate of perfectly cooked and seasoned food its amazing they can charge so little and stay in business. The kicker was the silver dishes with grated Romano cheese to spoon on to your dish. Its a 5 star restaurant at 2 star prices. You wont be disappointed.
Went to have dinner almost half a year ago and food was delicious but me and my colleague were treated in a really rude way. Our waitress managed to make us feel as if we were not welcome there. If I knew that’s not gonna happen again maybe I would consider to visit the place again.
I would like to give this place a 5 star however, My family of 10 came in for my sons birthday. July 2nd. We all had wonderful meals except for mine. I ordered the white fish but it came with rice and beans I said I wanted potatoes or pasta and the waiter said no you can only have rice and beans. So therefore I had my salad and a piece of fish for over $20. That ruined my meal. The other meals were fine. Over $200 in food and drinks and one item could not be replaced. Not good. I might add the waiter was very nice Otherwise.
Great night here! Hadnt been here before and met a friend here for dinner. We had saganaki and split a few appetizers that were extremely good! A seafood Portobello and Caprese salad. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Had a great waiter who was fun. We sat near the front door. Very enjoyable evening! Will be back soon.

2022-07-09First time at restaurant and we wont go back. Both my wife and I had the DI Moore entree with shrimp and mussels in a light tomato sauce. We both thought the sauce was flat with little flavor and the shrimp were small for an entrees costing $47. We werent impressed with their bread, small and dry. I will say the salad was very good and the service was good. Wine prices are high.

2022-06-29We had my sons rehearsal dinner here. They served it family style. Nick and Nicole were awesome servers! We asked for less salt in the food. It tasted amazing, and had less salt!! People raved about the food. THANKS!A gift certificate for Alfoccino would make a great Christmas gift!

2022-05-24A work related over night stay for me just down the road at hotel.Craving for Italian food and the great dessert. I called for a pick up order; Chicken Alfredo on fettuccine noodles. I got the meal which had garlic bread and green salad.I arrived to pick up order; I inquired if I asked for salad dressing. The waitress replied she was not sure. She returned from kitchen with another bag; a bottle of their Italian dressing, not opened.I told her I should truly enjoy their salad!

2022-05-03Great Italian food!! Large portions, we all had leftovers. Wait staff was adequate, nothing special. We asked about dessert, she gave us a very limited verbal menu. We heard the waitress give a neighboring table a detailed list and told our waitress what we wanted from that .... Also we were seated near the hostess desk and the phone rang and rang... We noticed two different staff pick up the receiver and hang it back up without speaking... !!! 🙄

2022-06-13This restaurant shocked me in the best way! I have lived in the area for decades and had never eaten here until a couple weeks ago. I had the chicken parmesan. It was delicious. Since then, Ive eaten here twice more! The restaurant is in such an unassuming location and it doesnt look like much from the outside, but go in and be delighted. Youll be glad you did.

2022-06-11Truly a great Italian restaurant. I have visited this restaurant when it was located on Rochester Road, ate lunch often at their Farmington Hills location and have found consistent quality and service at their Opdyke Road restaurant. Lasagna is some of the best and their Italian salad dressing is an impressive mixture of magic that will elevate any garden salad. Sandy and Sam took great care of us. I certainly will return whenever Im in the area.
