Did something change at the pumps for cars?I used to to be able to use my Visa card at the pumps till last week, it didnβt work today and kept saying go see the cashier.Went in and so many people are on the line up on both the fuel counter and the other counter. Only one girl looking after both.I couldnβt be bothered with that, so just took off and crossed into Canada. If we have to go in all the time to pay for fuel, it will be annoying and waste of time after a long day at work. Hope they fix this issue soon, so we can pay at the pump.
WARNING FOR TRUCKERS: Dont come here searching for fuel simply because your fuel location app shows you a cheaper price if you are not headed to Canada!!! If you take a wrong turn or accidentally end up here, DONT BUY ANYTHING if you are not planning to go into Canada. Some of the workers here will try to extort money from you to help you get turned around, but dont pay anyone. Theres a procedure already in place to get cars and big trucks turned around if you end up her accidentally. But only if you have not purchased anything. Once you buy items or liquor you, and whatever/whoever is in your vehicle MUST enter Canada to get turned around. You have been warned.
This is my favourite stop every week. They have some of the great deals comparing to DFA.Staff is mostly polite.Clean washrooms. They also have a bargain shop there where we could find many household products at a great rate !!I always fill DEF here. Its cheaper than anywhere else in North America !!
They have a great selection of Liquor! I shop there before I go see my friends so we can all have a good time. They have a bargain emporium that sells goods for cheap! Lots of baby items for sale and other trinkets you can use as gifts. Gas is very easy to get there. I suggest you use cash to get the best value of if you cross frequently, get a Ambassador Bridge Commuter card.
They more or less have a monopoly and in some respects it shows. The prices are exceptional - especially for gas, but its very common for many of the pumps to be out of service and it takes far longer than it should to dispense 10 gallons of gas. On the bright side, the staff are pretty good and theres a good selection of duty free items.
Good place to see has a bargain shop as well with lot on odd bit a Bobs in also does a large selection of different spirits you cant get in other duty fee shops beer is not the cheapest but makes up for that in all the extra offers. They do with the spirits and perfumes that are on offer here
Good/great deals, but sometimes the checkout line takes a really long time (10-15 minutes) since there is only one cashier and products often dont scan in the system forcing the cashier to manually look up the products. Youll end up buying things you dont really need because its such a good deal. Sometimes there are new products daily and other times it seems like theres nothing new for a week or more.
Great Gas Prices if you are Canadian and coming back always fill up. The actual store is huge and selection is very random. Personally Im not looking for booze or smokes. Im looking for cheap toys for the kids or games for my collection. They have hobby boardgames with surprising frequency and often at fantastic prices.
Large selection in the general store, but the deals you find at the Border Bargain store is unreal. Itβs hit and miss - some days there is nothing worth it and other days you can score big! My biggest score was a 60β name brand TV for $200. I also got most of the furniture and toys I needed for my third baby (crib, bouncer, swing, diapers, etc) from here. Iβve known others get wild deals on small appliances, bedding and more. Like their Facebook page for a preview of their daily sales!
Dont buy gas for your vehicle here. Purchased regular unleaded gas at this duty free which immediately had a negative effect on my cars engine. We had all the symptoms of watered down gas and a quick Google search will show theyve served bad gas in the past. Will never fill my tank here again. The store itself is pretty standard and nothing special, Ive never found any deals here too good to pass up. Staff is helpful and friendly, though. Often times youll find the monetary savings isnt worth getting pulled over to pay duty when youre on your way into Canada.
Large easy to access last stop before crossing the border into Canada, with short and quick cash lines. Fill up with gas and get your eggs and milk here too before heading home from being away. Good washrooms and reasonable prices with featured deals being the best bet, but I usually get my alcohol at Costco or Meijer at a better price. Know your prices.
I love going to this place to go in the back room where they have lots of good stuff for cheap. Alot of people dont even know that there is a back room where you can buy stuff at. This is not the same stuff that is out on the floor this is other stuff from tools to mugs to bedding to paper towels to pet stuff. You never know what they are going to have in there from week to week its always something different.
Stop here if you have time. Occasionally youll find a VERY good deal. Bought a new-in-box KitchenAid pasta maker attachment for $40.00. Reg price $279.00. Worth checking in to see whats new. Inventory constantly changes. Unfortunately, the useless items outnumber the steals.
They have all kinds of products but they are usually the same price as the stores. Also Matty love to charge people going to Canada more than going to the US. Vodka is $20USD in the US but $16-18 CAD in Canada. The fuel is pretty well the same, $2.079 at the Marketplace $2.109-$2.159 on the street and your supporting the roads with tax. His fuel is tax free.He is as greedy as possible.
This is a Dutyfree store at the Ambassador Bridge between Detroit USA & Windsor Canada. There is a very wide variety of upper name brand perfume & cologne with good prices. There are also wide choices of name brand alcohol liquor. Other items are limited choices of toys & candies. But because of the requirement of crossing between Canada & the US, one must be alert to the 2 countries Law on importing goods, and properly declaring the purchases to Custom. They also have a large Gas bar for passenger vehicles (cars, SUV, trucks, RV, van, etc.) As well as another area for big transport trucks (Semis).
The so called βDuty-Freeβ gas prices are deceiving. The gas prices are better than Canadian gas stations, but βdutyβ free gas should be cheaper than local gas stations. Save roughly 20% at this gas station or 30% at other gas stations in Michigan before you hit the βBridge To Canadaβ exit.
Duty free prices are average compared to other border crossings into Ontario. Cigarettes are cheaper than ANY crossings from New York into Ontario. Marlboro not available crossings into USA. Loyalty program has some benefits but only if you want to prepay money onto card. Gives you 5% discount on many things in store not already discounted items (including cigarettes and booze). Bridge toll and gas discount with Nexus. Bridge crossings in Detroit are very expensive compared to crossings from NY. Border bargain outlet has some unique finds and bargains can be had here. Would have been 4 stars if not for high bridge toll.
Nothing is ever cheaper here than anywhere else.Gas for a while was the same price as Dearborn.I dont know why I need to give my Zip Code and license plate. There arent attendants to make sure people dont park their car at a pump and go inside to shop which happens often. No one knows how to help me inside. Everything just seems like there was no thought put into anything
Really helpful staff. Reasonable selection for a duty-free facility. Not amazing, but DF is not what it used to be. There are few duties any more! 21st century. But, you do get to evade local or national sin taxes, so alcohol and cigs are a bargain. Staff is really helpful. And personable, not Uniqlo automatons. Actual humans who want to help.
****Buyer Beware*****They sell damaged goods at their Bargain Border Shop in what look like unopened, factory sealed boxes.Bought a 50 Samsung TV last week when crossing for $195 (retails for $799 in Canada) - was in a factory sealed box, zero visible damage to box.....great deal huh???WRONG - got the TV home, unboxed it and guess what....the screen had major damage to it, totally unusable. It looked like someone took a heat gun to it for an hour. Got that sinking feeling in your stomach yet?Tried to resolve the issue with them immediately after I realized the TV was damaged but they were super quick to let me know its buyer beware once they had my $. Translation; Customer service/issue resolution is non-existent with these people. If you are Canadian, dont even consider buying anything over $50 here unless its completely non-functional like say a pillow or a duvet cover. Warranties dont carry over and you may as well buy the products from the back of someones van at the Detroit bus station - the odds of you getting ripped off are probably the same.Hopefully this saves someone else from being ripped off.

2022-05-05I like going into the store for purchases. What I dont like is the snotty, mouthy girl with attitude ordering people to wear a facemask when SHE wears hers UNDER her nose and her mouth covering only her chin. She only pulls it up, if she even bothers to pull it up, when you pay for your things. Ive been there twice in a week and shes the same both times. Horrible attitude. Horrible customer service. I hope to never see her in there again.

2022-06-07This place is always short of liquor brands one wants and only choice available is very common brands. One of the busy port of exit/entry to Canada, lots of people shop from here and hence they run out of things quickly.

2022-03-08The customer service in this store is totally missing. Excepting 2 ladies , the personal is very rude, unprofessional, disgraceful. I am wondering how this manager still keeps them working there. The restroom , fuel plaza looks clean. The store prices are not really a very good deal thinking this is duty free. Every where in US masks are not mandatory but here are, why? Itβs is not located on US soil. They donβt realize that in 2 yrs when the new bridge will be open and all commercial traffic cross there, they will loose their jobs.
