When booking the appointment online I provided my exact car information and was recommended specific tires. I even asked the guy, if the tires were the right ones for my car and he said yes. Today I came in for an oil change and to my surprise the price has gone up to 340 for a diesel truck. I asked the store manager to show me an old invoice to see what I paid before and supposedly because of change of ownership he couldnt show me. Which we all know is bull. Called Parras got me in for same service for 180$. Store manager has zero business sense. I asked for invoice to make a decision and he said he couldnt bring it up when the kid who was helping me was looking at old invoice to ask me if I wanted same oil as last time. Comment: I had the best experience ever with this store out in Oxnard. I live in the Los Angeles area, in Carson to be exact, so i came from a looooong ways. I was helped out by Larry who happens to be the store manager. I came in to replace a tire that had blown out on me. Upon inspection he did tell me that I need all four of my tires to be replaced since I explained to him the drive that I normally do on a daily is pretty long/far ( Los Angeles to Ventura County). I explained that I really didnt have the money up front to replace all four tires since I had a staggered set and I knew it was pricey to replace all four at once. Larry was kind enough to search what tires fit my car and gave a fair pricing. He helped me out with financing my set and Boom I was sold and had all four replaced. I wanted to take time to explain another issue that Larry and his crew helped me out on. I didnt realize that my rear brakes were about to go and for safety issues Larry suggested for me to have them replaced. Once again I was nervous cause I didnt have the actual physical cash in hand to do so. I was quoted a price along with the service of the 4 tire replacement and it went over the available balance that I had on the credit limit that was granted to me by them. I was distraught and worried but Larry was kind enough to pull out his magical wand and made it work for me so that I may safely drive my car to and from LA to Oxnard. Larry and his crew didnt really have to go out of their way to help me since I came in just for tires but his consideration for my safety was just above and beyond what was expected. I cannot express my gratitude for this place and the help of the people who work here. My business with continue with them for many more years to come! Everyone there was friendly and kind and to be frank they are all just honest and as a consumer that is all that I could ever ask for.

When we went online to look at the warranty features we noticed there was a current sale. There was no advertisement in the store. We contacted the store and spoke to the manager Larry who was rude and unprofessional. He stated they dont advertise and we should have asked for the sale at the time of purchase and would not honor the current sale price. We called corporate and they apologized and honored the sale price. This store doesnt understand how to operate a business, this wasnt the first time the staff has been rude and unhelpful. After waiting for my car all day I get in and drive off to the exact same problem and now my steering wheel is not centered anymore. Comment: A bad place to do business. Caesar (I think) gave me a quote to fix my windows over the phone on Wednesday for so many hours of work. He even said I could bring my own brand new parts, fresh from the dealer and that they would just charge me labor. I showed up on my day off and a different big guy wanted twice as many hours as the original quote. I tried asking how it could take that long, and to talk about the actual labor needed to do the work. He said something about me telling him how to do his job. I’ve gotten a ton of work done there before with no issues or claims of me trying to interfere. I need this done quick so I can commute and they wasted a week of my time claiming they could do the work.Update: I managed to do the work myself. I’m no mechanic, but a few YouTube videos set me straight. I took about the amount of time he wanted to charge me, which is crazy, cause I really took my inexperienced time to get it right, and I still finished.He was definitely trying to rip me off.

Comment: My sisters car is there as I write this review. The car just came out of the shop for repairs and we needed to get a pair of budget tires on her older model car. We asked for a full set of tires and an alignment. Tech comes back and says the major issues that we just had fixed are a problem. I texted our mechanic immediately. My husband asked for a quote for all of the things supposedly wrong with the car. Said tech wanted my husband to take his word for it or they were going to charge us $20 to print out a quote. If they hadnt already started on the tires, I would have told them to give me the car back. Waiting for him to bring out a dirty air filter that doesnt fit her car next.ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THESE PEOPLE. This was my first and last experience with them. never again.

Comment: My credit card was refused (I later found out I hadn’t activated the card). This was Friday late afternoon. A nice man took me to a branch of my bank I don’t use, I didn’t know it was closed, just the ATM was open and the line ended in LA. We went to my regular bank by then the bank was closed. You can only get so much cash and I was $408 and change short. We went back to the store. I called my sister and she was going to put the rest on a card. They told me I could bring the rest of the money in Saturday morning, and let me take my car home. To say I was shocked doesn’t cover it❗️❗️I had been getting my tires there for a while but WOW! I was there with the cash next morning . Also my ride was much smoother with the “struts “ and new tires. I know they went above and beyond for me and I really appreciated their kindness and the work on my car🙂

Unfortunately in this case, its bad.My wife bought four tires from American Tire Depot and free tire patches are offered with the purchase. A nail was lodged in one of the tires so...The portly gentleman at the front desk of the Oxnard/Vineyard location told me I would have to wait 3-4 hours to get the tire patched. Perhaps understandable, but I didnt notice many customers or vehicles that would justify the long wait.The next day I dropped my wife off to have the tire patched. She was called thirty minutes later and told the tread was too low and not only couldnt they patch the tire, she needed four new tires! Not entirely shocking for anyone who has ever dealt with a dishonest auto service shop. This, however, was a particularly egregious lie and one easy to disprove.So we took our car to a different shop in Oxnard and the tire was patched for $10, lol. Its simply amazing to me how little business sense so many people/companies have. Theres so much competition in this space and we wont be doing business with American Tire Depot again, all because this location is dishonest. Caveat emptor dear readers.

Only problem was the price, I definitely had to pay way too much for a budget brand set ($940.00). Comment: On 8/16/2021 I went to the Oxnard store to get an Oil change and have my tires rotated and re-balanced per the road hazard warranty I purchased when my tires were replaced at this store several years ago. After a brief period of my car being in the service bay the person manning the front counter asked me to come into the service area to look at something. He showed me the edge of my front drivers side tire and said that it was worn out and that my tires needed to be replaced. I declined to have my tires replaced because I work from home now and no longer do I drive all that much. Besides, these tires are only 40000 miles into a 60000 mile life warranty, and only have been worn down to 7/32 of an inch. I stated that the only services I wanted that day were the oil change and tire rotation/ balancing work that I originally requested. He agreed. When my car was checked out I noticed that the tires were all in their original positions. When I went back to the front counter I was told with the corners of the tires worn that they couldnt be touched. At no point prior to me checking out and paying for the oil change did he ever state that the tires couldnt be rotated or balanced. At no point was I offered the sale of replacement tires with a prorated discount for the balance of the life left in the warranty for the tires purchased at that store. I believe that the salesman was on a fishing expedition for a big sale and when that failed, customer service and respect were taken off the menu of services provided to me.

Comment: Larry and his team did a great job representing American tire depot. I’ve recently acquired a 2003 Ford which eliminated a car payment but requires much work. I needed a whole full set of tires and of course later found out (although I suspected) brake work. Doubling the initial large ticket purchase price this was a necessary and mandatory purchase. American tire depot had some of the best prices and best warranty for the work completed. It was a tough pill to swallow but Larry communicated the entire process and made sure I was taken care of. I’ve been a customer of this company at various locations for over 15 years and they’ve been consistent competitors in the industry.

Comment: I have taken 3 vehicles to this shop and they are always very knowledgeable and their prices are usually as low as something you might find online. Recently I had trouble once they installed 4 tires and did alignment. The next day I noticed it was pulling to one side I called them and they told me to come in and made it top priority to fix it. They test drove it and fine tuned the alignment twice on there machine. Got it back and its never been more stable. Larry will give you a great deal and is always honest about prices.

Comment: I went to get a quote for some tires and brakes now here’s the thing I do not drive no fancy car nor does my car have or need fancy or expensive tires. I feel like I was over charged $900 for 4 tires and front brakes. And my car is 2015 sonic chev. I was also told my car needs some additional work and I was quoted 1900.00 dollars so I came home and googled the parts and labor to get an idea and just to check more or less if the price I was given somewhat match and hell no it didn’t. For the kind of car that I have parts cost no more then $450 no more than $500 and labor cost more or less $300 or so let’s say $800-$950 for everything where did the guys that gave me the quote come up with almost $2000 dollars and I truly feel I was overcharged for my tires and brakes. My co worker better car than what I drive he paid $500 for his and manager drives a Camaro and he paid $600 for his work and both got the same work done tires and brakes. It was close to the sidewall, so I figured I would need to replace it and one other tire...at minimum. Damage was on a rear tire. I purchased two tires. I assumed balance and rotation was standard to installation. No rotation was done. I have no idea if tires were balanced. Both new tires were installed to the rear. The newer tires should go on the front wheels. When I brought it up, I was told I had to ask for those services to be done and if I would like it to be done now. These are not practices that I am used to from Americas Tire nor American Tire Co. I am questioning my loyalty.

Comment: These guys ROCK! I’ve been there 5 times in the last 1 1/2 year for different services and always have excellent service. No one is sitting around doing nothing. Never there longer than 1 hour (the key is to call ahead and they will let you know how busy it is). My free tire rotations only take about 30 minutes even on a busy day. Comment: Booked a last minute online appointment for a tire change a day prior and was assisted by Larry, who is the supervisor and was extremely helpful. After booking the appointment, I actually received a call from him to confirm everything, after store hours. One downside was that I couldn’t get the ‘buy 3 tires and get 1 for free deal’ due to the tires not being in stock, although it was advertised as so. Regardless, Larry was able to special order it and have it delivered before I showed up for my appointment the next day. The service took about 40 minutes and he found it helpful to show all of the wears and tears that my old tires had just for knowledge. Although I didn’t get the 3 for 1 deal, the customer service, warranty, and timing was top of the line, and look forward to returning here for future repairs.

Comment: Made a same day appointment to have slow tire leaks patched and a brake inspection. Work was finished in the amount of time quoted, and I was charged a fair price for front brake replacements and tire repair. The only problem was my brakes still squeaked for two months after. After I took the car back in, they said I needed new back brakes, four new tires and some other repair I cant recall. I declined and said to just fix the squeak from the front brakes theyd just put in. Thats when i was told one of the employees liked my car and had been looking for one in such good shape! Needless to say, I left and will not return.

Comment: Went in for tires and perhaps some suspension work and was helped by manager who shared extensive knowledge of suspension and tire work to answer the many questions I had. Larry was direct about benefits and drawbacks of several tire+suspension builds that I was interested in. He clearly enjoyed the technical aspects of his profession but made no attempts to over promise or up sell me on any aspect. He then found a promotional discount for my order and the work was completed in time promised. I left feeling satisfied I had purchased the appropriate setup for my personal needs.

They tried said $250 checked online and they had them considerably cheaper said I was not in the system even though I literally have over 100 receipts from this company also the manager there is a total jerk. Found tires down the street at bug O for $120. Tild the guy he said I need it in writing, ( never had to do this at the other locations so I went to big O and saved over $100. I was also informed that my lifetime alignment was void because I had new tie rods and rack and pinion installed. They dont inform you of this when you buy it. I would never go to this place again.

Comment: Went to get work done and initially was quoted a bit over $700.00. Eventually the discounted it by $100.00. When they ran my credit card they charged the original quote. When I caught it they said they couldn’t back out the charge so they would issue a $100.00 refund which I’d receive by the next day. When it didn’t show up in three days I called and suddenly it would take up to three weeks. At four weeks I called and was told it should be coming and someone would call me back. No one called me back so a did a one star review on Yelp. Got a response to call the District Manager which I did but had to leave a message. He never called back so I kept calling until I reached him and he assured me I’d get the refund in the next day - within 24 hours. It’s now four days, 96 hours, later and no refund. I’m writing a review here and making a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Need work done on your car? DON’T GO HERE!

To patch a hole it’s actually free but I tipped Junior for his hard work. Junior knew exactly how to jack up my low Civic & mount the tire. They were actually willing to go and get them for me same day. I ended up choosing another tire just because it was one that they had there and it was a comparable tire. Comment: Came in to get my brakes done as they had the best prices around. Had an issue on pick up with a white mark on a door though. I partnered with the manager Larry who said it was probably not them but as a good human he went out of his way to do a quick fix as thats as far as the company would let him. The best part though was as he fixed it he even took the time to show me how to fix minor scratches myself as he has his own detailing shop. I have never had a person do that and I really appreciated that. Loved how they can work with you as most places would have said not our problem. Highly recommending this place based on customer service, price, and work done.

Comment: I first went to the Main street store to buy a new tire. The tire new tire was put on quickly. I leave, drive on the freeway a few days later, and my steering wheel starts shaking when I hit 60 or higher. So, I go back to the same store. I was told its shaking because the other tire isnt new. The guy at the Main St, Ventura, Ca never suggested to look at it, left up..nothing. Said I need to get a new left tire now. So, I call the Oxnard store, and EVERYTHING got better. Let me give a big shout out to larry. He was amazing from the start. He fixed my issue, free of charge. My car differently needed to be looked at, thank you Larry, and the entire staff. They weren’t very helpful on keeping on the budget, I ended up spending over my budget but I got a free alignment with my purchase. I was told the wait time was gonna be about an hour or an hour and 15mins, I ended up waiting 3 hours for all four tires and the alignment, literally shouldn’t take that long, it took them 2 hours just to put my car up.... even though I have a warranty on my tires I’m still gonna go to another tire shop, this was ridiculous.

Comment: Expect to be upsold every time. Went with them due to being cheaper than costco, but have learned their perks are not all that! Everytime I have taken my vehicles their, they always find something to include shocks and struts even though I have a hydraulic suspension. Balancing is only good for a year even though they advertise free with purchase. We had to do an emergency stop, skidded a little. Took the tire in for repair when I ran over a nail and they wouldnt cover it because extensive wear and they dont cover accidents. I cant make this up!

Comment: I had a very positive experience here. I needed very specific Goodyear tires that they were able to obtain within 24 hours for me. They scheduled my installation time, but called me to inform me that the tires had arrived earlier than scheduled and that I could come any time that was convenient for me. They only took 90 minutes to install everything. They guarantee their work. Everyone there was very friendly and accommodating. So far, no problems with my tires. Comment: Check your car prior to driving off!!!Took the car in for the fourth time for the rear brakes, which were making a grinding noise after ATD put new rotor and brakes in July 2017. Requested transmission flush, oil change, tire rotation. Service writer said they would call us when the car was ready. Received a call three hours later stating all services were completed. Lifted the hood and noticed the oil filter was dusty, checked the oil it was still dirty and two quarts low, tires had not been rotated. Went to discuss with the manger Gus and he said he could assure us all work had been completed, even after showing him the white napkin with the filthy oil. Gus came outside and called the mechanic over to validate all work was completed we had requested. Gus asked the mechanic did you change the oil, check the brakes, rotate the tires and service the transmission? The mechanic said no you told me this car only needed a flush so thats what I did. Gus was caught in a huge lie regarding the all services had been completed. The mechanic said again NO I DID WHAT YOU TOLD ME TO DO, FLUSH THE TRANSMISSION walked away and returned to the service bay area. We requested a 100% of our payment refunded and GUS said it will take 48 hours to return it to your credit card. We requested he put it in writing also as we had found him to be a dishonest person once. It has been six days and no money has been credited to our credit card. We have tried calling customer service to get the issue resolved leaving several messages and we have not received any calls. Since ATD loves to respond to a yelp review, lets see if they resolve this issue. Attached is the receipt with the false promise of a refund.

I went to Mountain View tires and was informed that my spare tire was not in the trunk, the people at America’s tires had not put it back in the trunk even though I had asked them if they had placed it in there and they had said yes. They couldn’t even take it across the street to Mountain View tires, so one of the employees from Mountain View tires had to go across the street to get it!! Comment: Of course I hear a large amount of air coming out of my tire the night before Thanksgiving and to top it off it’s 6:30 pm everywhere is closed by now but luckily I found anerica’s that closes at 7 pm. I contacted America’s tire depot and spoke to Lawry he of course took care of my tire issue and replaced the Valve. Thank goodness for this shop closing at 7 pm and for Lawry and his staff staying an extra 15 min to fix the issue, we are back on the road safe thanks to America’s Tire Depot in Oxnard! Comment: I generally dont write reviews, but this review is warranted. I purchased 4 tires for my Toyota tundra 6 months ago. On 6/29 went in for a tire rotation and to check a tire pressure light. Guy at front desk asked me to come back as all techs were out to lunch. I said no problem. Came back at 2 p.m. and same guy told me it would be a 2.5 hour wait. I told him I would wait. It was 4 p.m. and truck still not being worked on, so I told clerk I would be back at 7 a.m. the next morning, as I had to leave. I left irritated. I came back at 645 the next morning, and was the first in line for a tire rotation. It took the tech 2 hours that morning for a tire rotation and check tire pressure light. I was the only vehicle that morning being worked on. Eventually got tire rotation, and I tire pressure light was gone--so I thought. I week later tire pressure light came back on. I took my truck back on 7/6 and told the guy that my tire pressure light was on again. He told me it was another 2.5 hours wait. I told him that this was my fourth visit here and I needed this taken care of ASAP. His actions seemed to me like he didnt care about my problem. Not wanting to make scene, Itold him I would be back as I couldnt wait.I came back on 7/12. I told the clerk that the check tire pressure light came back on after tire rotation and I needed it fixed ASAP. I told him about the last visits, and he said he would take care of it and it would be 30 min. After waiting 2 Hours they came back and said I need to purchase a new tire because there was a nail that was lodged on the outer part of the tire. At this point I was furiuos. I told him I had just purchased the four tires and that I got the warranty road side assistance. I quick look at my account would have revealed this. He looked up my account, and sure enough I had the warranty. To make matters worse, they told me they did not have the tire in stock and that they had to order it. I was fuming at this point, raising my voice at the clerk I told him I was not coming back to wait, that I have waited too long to get simple tire service. Another worker overheard and told he said that they had another brand of tire but same size. Because I did not want to come back and wait many more hours I agreed, to the replacement. The tire was put on, and I left very unhappy.Now I have two different types of brand tires on my truck do to the incompetence of the techs, and clerks.Sorry for the long review, but hope it helps others making a choice on whether to purchase from this place.

Comment: Went in for two tires. Was not offered choices till I asked about Michelin. I only buy Michelin due to the quality and great durability. I was given an estimated time of 45 to 90 minutes. It may or may not have taken well over two hours. A couple that was there when I got there was still waiting when I left. I understand that some things take longer being in the trades but after an hour walk around the area I returned to see nothing done. The techs in the garage were working without much gumption... other shops I have been to moved with a purpose. Not overly impressed. At least I got my Michelins and they did put my spare back under the vehicle.

Comment: I went in because I needed 1 front tire, had a blow out and driving on the donut spare on my way to work. the guy told me cheapest he had 55. + tax I said OK, they put the new one on back and put the back up front, it took @ 20 min. The bill was 90.71, 59.49 tire and tax + 14.99 wheel balance /mount + 1.75 ca tire recycle + 2.50 disposal + 2.99 stem & weights (all pretty much expected) + 8.99 ROAD HAZARD WARRANTY! that I never asked for or was told anything about! it even says on the back of invoice warranty available at customer request and I never asked, or was told anything, he just tacked it on.I didnt notice it till later when I got home and looked at invoice. dishonest business practice! Comment: Initially my experience at this store was fine. No problems buying my tires; I paid up front. They arrived to the store quickly. Installation went fine. The problem came when I was due a refund for a service that wasnt performed.I COULD NOT GET A REFUND FROM THIS PLACE. First the manager told me he needed to get authorization from corporate and then they would mail me a check for the amount owed me. I have never in my life had a retail chain use that method of returning money. After a week I had heard nothing, so I had to go back into the store and the same manager sheepishly brought out a blank form to begin the refund process. HE HADNT DONE A THING SINCE I WAS LAST THERE. Then he tried to convince me to apply my credit to another service and when I refused said he needed to call corporate to get that same refund authorization but they werent answering. I was assured that he would process the refund to my credit card as soon as possible and I left the store. What a surprise when another week went by without getting my refund. It took THREE WEEKS to get my money back and that was after multiple trips and a lot of my time. Avoid this shyster Americas-Tire-wannabe-knock-off store and go to the real thing. Youll be very happy you did.

Comment: Went in for a simple oil change on a Saturday, for which I had already set up an appointment. When I get there, the service writer [who I believe was the store manager] gladly assisted me but warned me that it would be some 2 hours before they could get to it. I was OK with this as I was going to get a ride back home anyways. He hesitantly began writing up the service order and asked me what type of oil I wanted, to which I responded I would like whatever oil is on special for $20. He stated that its regular [Conventional] Valvoline and asked me what weight oil. I asked for 10-30w since thats what I usually run, so he jotted it down and took my keys and said I should expect a call when they are done.Three hours went by and I received a call from them stating the car is ready for pick up. I got a ride down there and saw the service writer coming in with one of his associates. He recognized me and mumbled something like, Ill be with you in a minute. Some 5 minutes go by as he is assisting a customer, but his associate who was also working the counter was on the phone or something. Long story short, at some point 2 customers came in and waited behind me, but 1 was asked to come to the front so that the associate could help me.They bumped somebody up in front of me for no apparent reason. Finally though, the associate asks me to step forward and starts gathering the paperwork for my service and the keys. Hes typing in some information into his computer and at this point I have been waiting there a solid 20 minutes. He continues to mess around on the computer, imputing some information and has a confused look on his face. Then he asks the manager what they are going to be charging me, to which he says, Whatever it says on the paper.The associate kinda shrugs and continues inputting information, and after a few seconds he presents me the bill, saying its going to be $59 and change. I was shocked, and simply responded by asking how this could be if I came in for the $20 special. I knew that there was a $2 hazardous waste fee, and taxes would come into play, but thats well over $30 more than what I expected to pay.I asked how is it that it was so much and they basically told me that only the 5-30w oil was on special, not the 10-30w as I had asked for. I made my case and told them that: 1, This was not noted on the coupon I had presented; 2, I was not informed of this discrepancy when I was asked what weight oil I wanted. They kept going on about how its more expensive to manufacture 10-30 oil compared to 5-30 due to its thickness and thus it costs them more. I told them that is besides the fact, I was not made aware of this when I came in and I had explicitly noted that I was looking for the $20 Oil Change Special when I made my appointment online.By this time, the service manager had gotten involved and they were not willing to do what was right [which to me was offering the discounted price] but instead continued to argue their stance against mine. They put the blame on me for not having asked if there was a price difference between different oils.In the end, the manager said that I could get an additional $20 off but that was all they could do. I didnt want to waste any more time with them, again being that they did not want to come to a resolution and would rather argue, I chose to just pay and leave. Initially I was going to pay cash to help them out by avoiding CC processing fees, but after this fiasco I gladly pulled out my card and told them to expect a dispute on this charge. He told me to bring the car and they would fix the tire FREE OF CHARGE. When I arrived the service I continued to receive was nothing less than excellent. In fact, the other people having their vehicle serviced there were also raving about how great that place is. When I received the car back they had not only fixed the problem; but, they had also checked and balanced the tire pressure for all tires and cleaned them! I will definitely continue to go to America’s Tires and refer others to do the same. Thanks again!
