My wife & I stayed here for a night we enjoyed every minute of it breakfast 🥞 was good & it was nice & quite. We will be coming back & will get the room with the jacuzzi most definitely the pool look great but didnt get to enjoy it because of the lack of swimming equipment/no bathing suits we packed money well spent the kids will be coming next time.
Room was clean, a little outdated, the breakfast didnt have much, but the waffle was yummy. The hottub was out of order which was a bummer. Staff was super nice. However the door in between rooms did not lock fully. The bolt did not turn all the way. Made me feel unsafe.
The stay was fine. The room was fine. However the pool is not open. There should be a discount for that. The breakfast was available but we were not up early enough for that. The hotel had some damage from a prankster pulling the fire alarm. It did affect our stay but definitely noticeable. I would stay here again. Overall a pleasant experience.
Visited this place twice in a week. Both rooms had no shower curtains and during this stay I was put next to housekeeping station and the washer and dryer made my stay miserable. Running water and spin cycle sounded like a freight train was in the building at 9am! Place is dirty and unconventionally unkempt. Was thinking of making stays here more often but not anymore. Plus if youre not wearing a mask while grabbing a quick breakfast you get harrassed by the desk manager. Not a good time. $94 for a headache.
This is our second stay in 2 years (visiting family). We love it here. The suites are very large and perfect size for a family of 4. The pool was closed due to covid but we enjoyed it the previous visit. In suite jetted tub was a great second choice. The kids used it multiple time. Breakfast was still available, prefect for on the go. In room coffee was decent, but we did bring our own cream. Overall it was very clean, people were friendly, and room was comfortable.
Decent rates. Better experience than I anticipated. Pool was closed due to Covid. Stayed a few nights and they had good housekeeping and nice rooms. I would give them a shot over the other “big box” hotels. The pricing is almost half and the experience is on par with the more expensive places in the area. They have been doing updates to the entire facility. I will stop back when in the area.
I will give this location five stars the staff is friendly and attentive everything is nice and clean to pull in the hot tub are awesome the continental breakfast is sufficient basically overall outstanding I make a lot of hunting trips to bad ax and I will definitely stay there again very quiet and peaceful the attached gathering place restaurant has great pizza and burgers
An interesting mix at this location. The staff was quite odd and didn’t seem to know what all was going on at the hotel (whether or not the pool is open and is free to guests, what time they serve breakfast, and other questions I had that went unanswered). However the room was great, clean and the pool was indeed open and available to guests. Breakfast was minimal but got the job done, pretty much on par with what you’re paying at this hotel. A great value for my stay in Bad Axe, would stay here again should the need arise!
About what you would expect for the price. Little worn. Bathrooms could use an upgrade. Walls cracked. Could use some new pillows. Also disappointed that the website said the pool is closed but turns out it is open.Had 2 disappointed little ones. We did not bring their suits since the website said pool was unavailable.
I have to tell you the highlight of my little mini vacation was stopping in at this hotel Cheyenne the young lady that work the front desk outstanding very friendly very nice very personable shes an asset to your company the manager the place yep shes a blessing but you have a great staff clean very clean Hotel I would most definitely stay there again
Everything was great up until I asked the front desk for more towels. I was told that they didn’t have anymore.. I paid for two nights, and didn’t receive housekeeping on the first day because I had the do not disturb sign on the door, so I asked for more towels. We brought our own soaps thank god because I would’ve probably been told they had none of that as well. The chairs in the room were very dusty and left marks on my sweatshirt. I stayed Friday February 28-Sunday March 1, 2020.Please, tell me again I didn’t stay here. I have 3 witnesses that tell otherwise. Just because my profile is a different location.. I am from Huron County... 🙄
Any stars are for the staff who fixed what other staff didnt do. Housekeeping did not clean our room so we came back to a pile of wet towels and yesterdays trash. The electrical outlets had zero grab, anything plugged in fell out almost immediately - THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD! Rooms have not been updated in forever, tub was stained, walls and ceiling had water marks. Breakfast was minimal, even for a continental breakfast - one type of fruit, some carbs, waffle maker, coffee. Walls are paper-thin, we heard every noise on all sides. For the money, Ive stayed at far better places. Convenient location for touring the Thumb area.
Ive been staying at this hotel for a couple months now. Ive never been disappointed with the cleanliness of the rooms. The manager has been very helpful. Stores and restaurants are in walking distance and theres a restaurant within the hotel. Also the price is pretty fair, Especially for the area.
The hotel itself is open, inviting and clean. Until you actually open your eyes. The pool is disgusting and dirty. You can tell is does NOT get clean with the build up around the pool and dirty water. Same with the hot tub. Who knows when it was cleaned last. The staff was pretty nice however reaked of nicotine. Overall the place us cheaper then the Holiday Inn, however I would not swim. They now offer a small breakfast. Hotel needs to be updated, severely.
Good for an overnighter, nothing special but I dont think thats the goal, just comfortable. Clean, nice beds and pillows, the pool and hot tub were nice and clean, open till 10pm too, and it was nice and quiet all night even with a full house, which was great. The breakfast was sad, served in a very small room with little to no seating, and running out of everything left and right due to the smallest set up ever presented, the staff was very pleasant but if I ever come back to this area I would splurge for the Holiday Inn just for a better breakfast and coffee. Would recommend to someone just passing through.
I was in the Bad Axe area for a family reunion. At the last minute I was fortunate enough to be able to stay in the hotel with a relative (as they were booked). Everything was clean and comfortable. We spent some time in the lounge which was fun. The staff were courteous and helpful. I was only there a short but I have no complaints. Next year, Ill plan in advance so I can stay for a few nights!!
Regular spring bed wasnt great. The breakfast was OJ, waffles, bagels and cereal. It was fine. The room was clean and staff very friendly. Location convenient. If I stayed in bad axe again I might stay here again. Its not a luxurious hotel, but its not trying to be.The restaurant had very good pizza. I was pleasantly surprised.
Check in went smooth. The carpet in the hallways has seen better days. my room was fine and the bed was comfortable and I had adequate pillows. The on site restaurant is a good option if you like bar food pzza or subs and cheap drinks. The breakfast had waffles or Toast of a variety or oatmeal.
The staff was very nice. The room was decent. It was clean enough, but not as clean as other hotels Ive stayed in. Their continental breakfast was lack luster, as was their coffee. All in all, good for a night stay but there are other more scenic options close by for a similar price.
Carefully check room cleanliness upon entering. Bathroom shower stall had multiple hairs on wall by shower head. But because I complained after my morning shower when I saw it, the front desk said I should have checked room upon entering and reported, but because I had stayed in room it could have been mine, despite that being my first moment in shower.
For a small town motel set back from the road(Not readily visible unless youre looking hard for it). It ranked amongst the most accommodating we have stayed in. The gal at the desk seeing me come in (I walk with a limp) without asking if we would prefer to have our room moved to the ground floor, since they dont have an elevator, changed it to the ground floor. What customer service!
Since most motels allow til 4 pm the day of check in, I assumed calling at 9 am would be acceptable. I was told that I would be charged for the room. When I had called to reserve a room, she had said they fill up during hunting season, so I felt that a large motel like this one, at a time of year they fill the rooms, could have at least offered to not charge if they filled the room, which they did, (because I tried to book one later that morning just to see. :) ) Wish now we had left the reservation and not felt like they were able to double book the room... it would have been nice to know the cancellations policy up front. I tried to book a room online, and it is stated on line just before you finalize your booking, but not shared with you when you call the front desk. The guys are staying at the Holiday Inn instead. It is 10$ more, but more updated, better breakfast, and, if you are part of their rewards nights, you earn points.
This place was ridiculous! We received a complaint for being too loud but the only person in the room at the time was asleep! The other guest and I were leaving the hotel bar when the front desk clerk on the night shift (who was very rude) stopped to tell me we were being too loud. I dont know how this was possible. The person that was asleep in the room received a call the next day from the general manager (who was also rude) saying the police were called. Funny we never saw any police nor did anyone knock on our door to tell us we were being loud. Dont worry I wont be back!
Went there for a room with 2 queen size beds for my wife and I and 4 children because we usually have the girls on one bed and the boys on another. When they found out there was 6 of us they said the room couldnt have more than 5. Plus a room should be the same no matter one person or 5 but its more per person after 2.
For the absolute worst cup of coffee in the Thumb, stop in! However, if you need a cheap, clean room with friendly staff in a central location to other eats, shopping, and business, its a great option. Would stay here again, but would ask not to be next to anyone else. The walls are as thin as the coffee cups.
Nothing on their immediate Web Ad about necessitating a 24 hour notice to cancel. Free Cancellation mentioned twice. Heat Advisory in their area made going there both unnecessary and impossible but they have no policy for Weather Related Emergencies either. Wouldnt book here again if it was the last place in Huron County.
Newer facility and very clean. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel I recommend it. The free breakfast is waffles, toast, bagels, dry cereals, and whole pieces of fruit. No eggs, gravy biscuits, potatoes, etc. But definitely enough to fill you up. As for location, I gave it 3 stars because I was just staying there as we were passing through. There may be interesting things within walking distance, I am not sure. The lake is a 20 - 25 minute drive away. Fairly close to small towns on the coast for restaurants and gift shops to fill an afternoon (Caseville, Port Austin, etc.) yet they are small towns and not big enough to fill multiple days. The are is good for outdoor recreation if that is what you are looking for.

2022-02-19Nice place to stay. The jacuzzi room was clean. The rooms are a bit dated but are well maintained. I didnt use them but the pool and hot tub look nice. Staff is welcoming and friendly.

2022-04-15No customer service at all, place was dirty, manager Amanda Marks was less than helpful and called me a liar, food was old and dry and when asking for refund I was given 20 dollars for a 304 dollar stay. Your place is a joke and should close. Thank you for helping ruin my trip.

2021-10-26The staff were friendly and quick. The room was very clean and nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We will definitely stay here the next time we are up this way. I heard the bar/restaurant attached is open until 10 and really good and fun but we did not go. The parking lot is huge. The only downfall is GPS did not take us to the right place using the address. Search for it by the hotel name and it takes you there! Easy fix.

2021-10-29My husband and I stayed here 2 weeks ago for a baby shower. The check in was hassle free. The room could have been a lot cleaner. I told my husband when he checked out to let the front desk know. Sleeping here made me feel, somewhat, gross. There were stains all over the mattress protector resembling blood. The sink and toilet had not been scrubbed either. The room also smelled like smoke, but I contributed that to it being close to a door you can go in and out of, which was noisy.Just a place to sleep though in a good location.*And to the owners response, the cleanliness standard of filth obviously was allowed as those are pictures from the night that we stayed there. I have the receipt in my emails. Do not try to degrade your patrons, sir. There are reviews for a reason. Just apologize and say well do better. Im not looking for anything, just giving others warning.

2021-07-25Nicole was so friendly and made me feel extremely welcome! Honestly, its five stars just for her.The rooms were clean and spacious and the bed was pretty comfortable. There was wide variety in the breakfast. I do not eat animal products, and yet I was able to find something filling to eat (plain bagel + peanut butter and oatmeal), which I really appreciate.

2021-08-22Better than any hotel I have stayed at in this price range and even a little higher! Very clean, cold (100 outside) and nice room. Nice area with a great restaurant attached. Would stay here again in a second.

2021-07-19The room was very clean and sanitized which was important to me, but a few things in it were broken such as loose tile in the bathroom and the plumbing in the shower. The beds were not that comfortable. The breakfast is fine, it is a few pastries, cereal and a waffle maker. The entire facility itself is very outdated. The location is convenient for the Thumb region. Check in was easy and the staff are very nice, but it appears they only have 1 person working at a time. Also, the pool is open to the public.

2021-12-13My mother , daughter and I had so much fun in the lobby and in the pool, ( it could have been a tad warmer), but worth every minute I spent with my baby . She learned how to swim that night. We loved the decorations, the tree was done with precision and the staircase was so festive.

2021-08-22Great little hotel! Clean rooms that have been recently updated and a friendly staff. Ill stay here if Im up this way again. I recommend it. Only downside is the mattresses are a little stiff for my liking but they still get 5 stars.
