Annas House - Westland in other cities:
I love Annas House, its my favorite breakfast/brunch place. The environment is bright and cheerful and always puts me in a good mood. Their menu is clearly labeled with vegan, gluten-free, and dairy free, options; which I deeply appreciate. The ingredients are fresh and often local. Ive always had great service here. Highly recommended!
Food is awesome, so many vegan and gluten free options plus lattes with different milk alternative options. A little pricey but you can tell the ingredients are fresh. Service is always good and the bread/toast is to die for. Only complaint is it seems no matter what day or time I go the kitchen is backed up and food takes forever, so definitely make sure you have a couple hours available.
I Really loved the decor and service. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. They have a lot of options to choose from, including Vegan and gluten free options. our waitress was fantastic, but she forgot to serve us a well done sunny said eggs as we asked. otherwise the food was great.. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience.
Update 10-16-21I revisited Anna’s house today for breakfast and everything was good. It was also my first time ordering their Corned beef hash skillet and it became my favorite. I reconsidered my review because today everyone seemed to know what they’re doing and the order was made exactly the way I asked for. The girl that was taking care of us was really nice as well, not sure but I think her name was Carol.——This place is really clean and staff are somewhat helpful. The food is ok but I think it’s a little bit pricey if I want to compare it to other restaurants. The reason I’m giving it 2 stars is because my mom doesn’t eat pork and we ordered a plate and asked the waitress if it is made with beef and she responded yes but when the plate came I could just look at it and say this is not beef, so she had to go and ask the chef to make sure which I think she should’ve done that before she take the order, also I think they should improve their menu and give some info about the ingredients. It is not cool to to ask and receive the wrong response and wait another half hour for the second order to be made!
My first time experience was definitely a good experience!! I arrived soon as they opened around 7 ish in the morning. I ordered the French toast with strawberries 🍓 combo with an apple 🍎 🧃 and enjoyed every bit of it. I would definitely return if I’m in the area. My total was $22 to some they would say it’s a bit pricey but it was well worth it to me. My waitress was a sweetheart she was very welcoming. The atmosphere is definitely a must visit
This place is super cute, I love the vibe. We went on a very popular time and on Sunday so it was a long wait. Our food was so good. They have a very special diet friendly menu that outlines what is dairy free, vegan, vegetarian and so on. I got the vegan chipotle bowl and it was very good, highly recommend.
What happened? This place used to be awesome. French Toast was just a few flat pieces of wheat bread with some powdered sugar tossed on top. Burger was room temperature, soggy bun, gray flavorless beef patties. Only thing I could taste on it was the craft single. Not to mention our favorite items on the menu were removed. Server was awesome and friendly but the food was a huge let down. So sad, it used to be our favorite.
This place is beautiful, and the parking lot was packed, so we HAD to stop in, and give it a try. We were sat immediately. We were quickly greeted by a friendly, but overworked and frazzled server. She forgot everything we asked for, i.e.; butter, napkins... Their menu is creative and extensive. We were so excited for the food! However, the food was bad...and I mean BAD. Our food came within 10 minutes, and you could tell immediately it was thrown together, as it was cold, and disheveled (cheese for my scramble being hard and stuck to the plate, under the food.) The quality of the breakfast meats are comparable to the chopped/formed see through food that is microwaved and served at a Holiday Inn Express breakfast buffet. If youre looking for mediocre food, this place is great.
Gotta say, it wasn’t the best experience I’ve had there. The waitress seemed to be quite attentive to what seemed like a group of regulars, but we appeared to be a distant second on the priority list. The food was very good as usual, but it was barely warm. It must have sat too long before being served. This was not a very busy time of the day at all. We’ll be back, but I hope the next experience is better. I just kinda expect better for a $45-$50 breakfast for two.
Its a little on the expensive side but everything seemed to be fresh. I had the gourmet nut and berry salad (spring mix, grilled chicken breast, strawberries, blueberries, goat cheese, candied pecans & raspberry vinaigrette) with no blueberries ($13.50). My Grandma who went with me ordered a BLT and it was a triple decker sandwich; made with Texas toast ($13.50).The kids chocolate chip pancakes ($5 for 3 pancakes) were good but seemed like they just dumped chocolate chips on the batter after putting it in the pan; they were all on the bottom of the pancakes instead of mixed it. They were the perfect size for a toddler.
My daughter love this place but Ive never been so I took her there for her 24th birthday as part of her gift. The staff are vet friendly and the food was great also indicating local products as well. Id recommend although a little pricey from what Im use to paying but worth every cent.
Breakfast and brunch only so it is only open until 3 pm. I loved the place, the colors, decorations and friendly staff. This was the first time I’ve been there and enjoyed a hearty breakfast of Anna’s special breakfast plate and a carrot-ginger-apple juice. Definitely a place to return frequently.
The food is alright but its always packed so getting a table even with a reservation isnt always guaranteed at a specific time. I made a reservation with my friends (we made the reservations in advance) and we wound up waiting an extra hour passed the time we reserved just to sit not to mention waiting an additional twenty plus minutes to order food and an even longer wait for the food. I know its not the staffs fault and they try their hardest but maybe management could come up with a fix because honestly its just not worth the hassle.
Would give 0 star rating and haven’t even tried the food yet. Ordered online was given a pick up time of 12:15. At 12:15 the food wasn’t ready, was told someone would bring it out. 10 minutes later, I went back in and the order was just hitting the system and they couldn’t say when it would be ready. Received food at 12:55. No compensation for wasting 40 minutes of my time.
I feel bad writing this, but I had to after the quality of food I received today. I really love this place, but today was blah. I was disappointed. The sad part it wasn’t busy and the food was still blah/coldish and my plate was dirty. They stack all my stuff on one plate, spent so much time trying to separate everything, my waffle was soggy. I was really disappointed in the cinnamon roll aka cinnamon pancake today. The waitress was good, but seemed stressed. I really hope this get better because I feel over the last several weeks things seem to be going down hill.Update 4/24/22:We believe in second chances, so we decided to give this place another try. Worse than before, besides the greeter who were sweet as pie. Waitress-blah, Customer Service-Blah, Food- Dry, Soggy, and Burnt, Drink-Lukewarm-Blah. So disappointed once again, we are officially done with this place for good.
My wife and I visited Annas House for the 1st time this morning and were supremely satisfied with our experience. This is a quality 50s style breakfast/brunch place with a full service breakfast bar as well as booths. There was about a 20 minute wait but once we were seated the quality of service was immediately apparent. Haley was really great and very knowledgeable of the menu. Our order was taken quickly and the food arrived within 15 minutes or so. I had the Breakfast Goulash and my wife had the Vegan Hippie Hash. Both of us were blown away by the quality, presentation, and service of this place.
Absolutely amazing with how many gluten free and vegan options they have! I drive 45 minutes just to eat here (and usually I wont even drive 10 minutes anywhere). Pancakes, waffles, French toast, breakfast and other select sandwiches are all able to be made GF. Vegan sausage, eggs, and able to make a lot of the GF items also vegan. At least 8 options, and I mean great options. Best place around to have for a delicious GF/Vegan breakfast or brunch. Amazing fresh juices too!
Top tier breakfast, an eclectic and fun selection of coffee mugs, and great locally sourced ingredients make Annas house worth a visit for a tasty breakfast or brunch. All the comfort of a neighborhood diner with a menu that is definitely above the usual fare youll find at such places.
Excellent!! Watched them open up years ago. Pretty sad and upset Ive never been in until yesterday. We took our kids and grandkids out and to say the food was good would.be insulting. It along with the service cleanliness and the overall set up and design. Meals are a little on the higher end from fast food or a dine and dive. ( dont get me wrong some of them are hidden gems) i had a reuben and fries tried some avacado toast with an egg. Looked like my daughter got fresh made juice. They manager ( not expected nor asked for) brought a homemade cinnamon roll with their own topping. Needless to say would could NOT finish it but was so worth eating. Thanks for that! We will be back
Definitely fumbling the ball in service. Friend ordered french toast, she received an egg soaked lump of mush that had the consistency of bread pudding and taste of watery scrambled eggs. I ordered a scramble. I received dried, chopped Omelette tectured eggs to look like it was scrambled. My order was supposed to come with toast, never received toast I requested a side of Hollandaise sauce. Didnt get my sauce. After 10 minutes of the runner delivering our food, finally we were asked if everything was okay. I finally got my sauce but never received my toast. It was obvious whoever was cooking and/or running the show that day didnt have anything together. Such a let down because this place built a reputation that theyre easily going to lose if they dont stop these little inconsistencies.
Great service; they listen to your food customisations, allergies and preferences very carefully and follow it. The food quality is great; everything is fresh, top-notch and served in a respectful way. I would love to visit this place for breakfast with family, friends, and even for professional / business gatherings.
Not really sure if it wasn’t great because it was a take out order. The pancakes was a bit warm.. but not fresh and hot to my liking... gravy was not good at all (thick , stiff and cold) . And I ordered orange juice they forgot to give it to me so I didn’t turn around. I just won’t return again.
The food was good, Lots of Vegan options. Its a bit pricy range as Portion quality is very less. Most food is natural, organic, many dairy and gluten free entrees, and has two menu pages of vegetarian and vegan dishes. 👍😋🥙🥗The staff was really enthusiastic about their food and also really nice.Great atmosphere, great decorations. The interior was nice and trendy, lots of Detroit and Michigan related art that will make you feel at home 🤗. Kids will love the ambiance.Ill be back for sure, lots on this lovely menu 🥞🧇
I fear this place is going downhill. I visited on a Saturday for breakfast ordered eggs over medium received runny, snotty eggs. Hash browns were stringy and burnt, and most disappointing the pancakes were undercooked inside. How do you undercook pancakes? In no way was it worth it for the higher prices you pay at their restaurant.
OH MY cant say enough good stuff about the food food was fantastic gave enough for 2 days of breakfast and as busy as they were service was great my nephew was smart enough to be put on the no wait list so we had a table as soon as we got there highly recommended doing that they are so good that they are always busy
Went here specifically to get some GENUINE A&W Root Beer (not the messed up version they sell at grocery stores). We bought 2 gallons to bring home from our roadtrip, and one of them was gone by the next evening, lol. Friendly staff, would go back again if we still lived local.
The service here is personable and friendly. I was greeted upon arrival and the wait staff was attentive during my seating and ordering. It was a social event.I was impressed by their have unique vegetarian options that are delicious and filling. Good portions. When I first arrived I got my menu and I was a little taken aback by what I was reading – it all seemed so delicious. I settled on a great looking cheeseburger. As I was ordering the waiter asked me, ‘You know it’s vegan, right?’I said, ‘No. I didn’t. What does that mean?’ It was my first time experiencing any vegan menu items. He began to tell me all about the meal and I was grateful and entertained. I finally said, ‘Oh, that’s great! Bring it on.’ I like new things. Out came my cheeseburger after a short wait along with some kale fries (outrageously yummy!). Along with a cup of coffee this was just a wonderful meal. I know he told me it was vegan. It said it was vegan in the menu but I have to say it tasted like one of the best cheeseburgers I have ever had in my life!I like the environment too. The venue is brightly light and the design is art itself. Brightly lit and gently but thoroughly colored (if you like aqua – dive right in!) it is a pleasant place to be let alone have a tasty meal.I found it a little pricey for regular visits, but I have not gone through their entire menu by a long shot. This place is a great treat for anyone. I highly recommend for the reason that the general seating allows for personal and business conversations. The counter seating is interesting and personal.
We have been eager to try the first restaurant in the area that caters to those interested in or needing natural, healthy, gluten-free or vegan options. The decor is absolutely adorable! The food is very tasty and well-portioned. Unfortunately, the kitchen staff seemed overwhelmed by the lunch crowd and one of our dishes which was supposed to be dairy-free came out with melted cheese. The replacement dish took longer than it probably should have to arrive and the side dish was also late in being made, so it arrived toward the end of our meal. That being said, Jade was a fabulous server who apologized repeatedly and profusely on behalf of the kitchen for the error and delays. The food was so good and we were in no hurry, so it wasnt all that upsetting to us.We are chalking this up to newly-opened growing pains and will definitely return again. The menu is large and inviting. We are looking forward to repeated trips to try many more dishes. We desperately needed a restaurant like Annas House here are so happy about it opening!
The place was nicely lit, open and airy.We made sure we sat under the wall of toasters.Coffee was super weak. I had hoped that it was only the first pour, but each refill was equally weak.Biscuits and gravy were excellent.American fries were just cubed red-skinned potatoes. Not the American fries you would expect at any other Diner. Kind of on the bland side, and needed Salt and Pepper to be edible.Cuban Benedict thing was also a little on the Bland side.Service was attentive and all-around excellent. Not a bad meal at all, but for the price there are probably a hundred other local places that would be more tasty and a better value.
So many delicious vegan options, I had a hard time deciding! I ended up going with two different items from their seasonal menu, and was quite pleased with the meal. I got the pumpkin spice pancakes and chipotle southwest scramble with vegan egg. At a lot of omnivore restaurants, you can feel like youre really missing out when you get the vegan option, but definitely not the case here. They clearly give as much thought and attention to the veg options as everything else.
This is my favorite place for breakfast !! The decor is adorable, with bright colors in a 50-60s era feel (think vintage toasters on display) The food is phenomenal and the portions are very large !! Service can be a little slow, because they are always so busy, but it is always friendly. The flavored coffees, teas and freshly squeezed orange juice (you can watch them do it) are wonderful !! There is a nice half-circle bar (no alcohol) if you happen to go alone and dont need a table. Try the Creme Brulee French Toast, but beware that the full size portion is HUGE. The only downside to Annas (and its only a downside for the customers, GREAT for the workers) is that they are only open til 3 daily. The owners believe that dinner time with ones family is very important, so they arent open after the lunch crowd and I think that is a wonderful way to see the world and your business !! (pictured is the Creme Brulee French Toast)
Our first time at Anna’s House breakfast and branch spot. Upon entering, it’s extremely bright and homie. I feel like I’m at granny’s house. Everyone is super nice. There are no pagers, they take your number and send you a text to your phone when your table is ready. It was busy, but our wait was only 10 minutes. They also have a breakfast bar, if you don’t want to wait. We ordered coffee, and they came in these cute mix match cups. For our vegetarian, and vegan family, you have a large selection. The vegan sausage had a great meaty texture, and was delicious. The blueberry pancakes fresh and fluffy. We give our food, and entire experience an A.
Service is great, food is even better. my wife had the breakfaat tinga tostadas and she loved them. I had the big breakfast and it was really the most bang for your buck meal. Definitely coming back. If you dont want to wait too long for a table, use yelp to join the wait list ahead of time.
Very good, and for price worth it. Not only is it good and portion sizes are large but a lot of food is locally sourced. So if that is major win for you, you’ll love this place. One aspect I will bring up is that it can very vey busy, so it’s important to put yourself on the waitlist, either by walking in and doing so or online which was super convenient.
It was our first time going to Annas House. There is a very energizing and upbeat atmosphere. My husband and I went with our 13 month old. The first thing our server, Andrew, did was bring us all waters and a bowl of fruit, gratis, for our kiddo to munch on! I have never been to a restaurant that thinks of kids like that. Definitely helped keep our son occupied while we looked over the menu. The menu was a bit overwhelming due to the plethora of plates they have available. However, Andrew was more than accommodating and even provided suggestions of what he would recommend. The dishes we ordered were very filling. The price points are more than your local money island, but you get quite a bit of food for the price.Overall, the service was outstanding, the food was great, and the experience was well worth it.
The club sandwiche was disappointing, very little bacon and the bread was not toasted evenly. The Cuban Benedict was delicious however not was spread evenly between the two english muffins, the hashbrowns were delicious. It seemed to take an extra long time for stuff to come out of the kitchen, maybe just a bad day for the kitchen staff.
Cute, bright, clean little diner. Their breakfast is great - lots of yummy choices from omelets to pancakes and everything in between. The omelets was big enough to take half home for breakfast the next morning, too! If you are in need of a sugar high, go for the cinnamon roll - it comes loaded with sweet cinnamon frosting piled on top and sandwiched inside. And yes, it is as big as it looks.
Very cute interior! The menu was full of vegetarian and vegan options. I tried the cooks sandwich with a vegan sausage patty and it was amazing!Edit: Giving Anna’s house a 1 Star because I vote with my dollar. I won’t be returning to Anna’s house. I just read some very bad news, the owner of Anna’s house has donated to the Trump campaign. I cannot support a business who does not support my community.
Been wondering what all the fuss has been about!! Parking lot here has been packed since they open a few weeks ago. Now, I see why it is rated #1 Breakfast in MI. I was here at nearly closing time. I ordered the smoked salmon bowl. It was an interesting presentation. I loved the raisin bread and the smere that came with. Super cute place - especially during Woodward Dream cruise weekend! Will come back to try their salad and eventually a dessert. Francy creamers for your coffee and hot sauces!
After waiting an hour + for a table . We sat for another 1 hr getting full on the beverages until I finally just offered to pay for drinks and just leave .Wouldnt have been as perturbed as I was had I not seen people get seated and served and leave the same time as me after I had never been served .Only 1 time was an apology offered and a backed up kitchen was to blame while the waitress sat another soda on the table 🙄Ive given this place 2 triesIn this game its 2 strikes and youre out .I will never go back to this place againAnna should be ashamed
A great menu with a wide variety of selections (they do serve mostly breakfast food). Lots of vegetarian options. Sunday morning was very busy but was worth the wait. We did enjoy our meal. My vege pannini and tater tot casserole were amazing. One cinnamon roll was enough to feed the entire table as they are quite large.
Went here for lunch with the family after church. Ordered some food I ordered the chicken salad with candied pecans. When my salad arrived it was raw chicken. Asked the waitress to take it back which they did. The waitress came to the table and asked what she could do, please bring me another. 15/20 min later still no salad or a visit from the waitress. Family all ate and I had the waitress just remove the salad from the bill. I did order a waffle to just to try it and for 9 buck it was a pretty plan rubbery waffle. 1 buck extra for fruit and I chose strawberry’s. It wasLiterally 2 small strawberry’s cut up. Orange juice was 3.50 but due to it being large they added 1.50. I don’t think I would return. Sorry but not sorry.
I may need to give this place another visit and if my experience is any different I will definitely update my review. Weve been trying to catch this place for a while and finally made it out there for our first visit on a Sunday morning around 1030am. Im not really used to having to wait 45 minutes to be seated for breakfast but we figured as busy and as much we read on Annas House website that this might be an experience waiting for. What a disappointment. Service was ok. We were greeted quickly, served our drinks quick ( I ordered the fresh squeezed orange juice and would not recommend anyone to order this drink) . The menu can be overwhelming, theres so much to choose from. The disappointment land when the food was delivered. Not one single dish was hot, barely warm. Which is hard to understand because the food came out pretty quick. Anyway, for the price and the time we waited to be seated I dont feel this is the place thats worth it.
As a transitioning vegan I had heard about this place a few times, finally got a chance to stop in last week and eat. I was IMPRESSED. The restaurant is well lit, neat and has a great ambience along with the pleasant staff. I had the hippie hash and it was so good I had to double back today for a carryout order. This is my new spot Im not going anywhere else for vegan breakfast; the food was hot and portion was huge. I love this place.
I enjoy the atmosphere here, and almost everything Ive tried has been delicious. The prices are on the higher side for someone whos used to fast food and corner Coneys, but not completely unreasonable. The only complaint I have is sometimes service is slow. Everyone is always friendly and helpful, but sometimes Ive stood at the door for a while before receiving a greeting and it has taken upwards of 8 minutes to place my drink order. I come here to relax and splurge, so I dont mind, but if youre in a hurry Id suggest coming back on a day you have time to savor the experience.
Just finished eating at Annas House. It was my first visit, but it wont be my last. The resturant had a really nice atmosphere and the food was delicious. I ordered the Western scramble. The food came quickly and the sausage gravy was really good also. Last but not, least the staff I encountered was really nice. I didnt catch the hostesses name bit she was really pleasant and our waitress Tia was super nice and her service was efficient as well.
This was my second time visiting Annas. The food is great, but this go round the service what horrible! My son decide to bring me here for breakfast we got the dinner table we ordered our food and we waited almost an hour before our food came out. It some dishes where cold. But as we were getting ready to leave after eating, they were another table sitting behind us and the manager came out and apologize to them for sitting there waiting for their food for only 15-20 minutes. That wasnt that long but we she felt the need to came and apologize to them!! But never looked are way..I felt that it was very poor customer service.
This is a great place to come if you appreciate cool decor. The breakfast options are many and I didnt get to try them all but I will be back since this was my first and only time here. I ordered the eggs benedict and the English muffins were stale. The sausages were ok and the eggs were pretty good. The service was good although it may have faultered a little only because they were understaffed.
It was very busy as expected as any other breakfast restaurant on a Saturday morning. Wait wasnt long at all and the staff was very friendly! Food was very good, Im a huge lover of lemon and I got the lemon crepes and they were phenomenal! Would highly recommend trying!
Annas House in Westland is a modern day, deliciously healthy breakfast/lunch venue. Privately-owned, its a 50s-look diner with modern day amenities and a modern menu (i.e., gluten, vegan, local sources). Annas House is on par with famous local breakfast venues Toast, Whistle Stop, and Golden Harvest. Satiate your foody fantasies and check out Annas House. 😎
I got the chorizo breakfast burger red skin potatoes. My wife got a plan bacon eggs and hashbrowns they have fresh juiced orange juice which my wife loved. The potatoes on both plates were no the most impressive but the rest of the food made up for it. The inside has a amazing atmosphere. Its bright and just a super cute place. There were so many things on the menu we wanted to try so we will definitely be going back to try something different. I do recommend the breakfast burger. It was mouth watering. They get pretty busy fast. We sat at the bar. When we walked in we sat right away. Within 20 minutes it was at least a 45 min wait. Come early.Update:We came back to have a good breakfast again. Wife got the twilight French toast and I got the breakfast lasagna. We aslo tried the tot casserole. A must get it was amazing! (Sorry no pic)
Traveled to Detroit from Philly to visit some friends. Anna’s house was delicious! We were able to skip the 30-40 min wait and sit at their rounded counter top area. I had the hippie hash. My friends had shrimp and grits (substituted pork bacon with turkey), banana walnut pancakes w chicken sausage, and banana pecan French toast with eggs. We all loved our food. The menu is so robust; one of those places you have to visit a few times to experience what they have to offer. From now on this is my go-to breakfast/brunch spot in Detroit.
My bf and I go to Annas House at least a couple times a month for brunch. Always add yourself to the wait list online before you go, especially on the weekend, otherwise youre looking at about an hour wait during peak times. As far as the food, I havent had anything I hated so far. The twilight french toast and tatertot casserole are two of my favorites (pictured in my photo). The steak and eggs werent very good, I asked for my steak medium and it was well done and very tough. Loved the chicken and waffles. Their smoothies and coffees are great!
Annas House is definitely one of the best breakfast restaurants around! They have a large menu with so many creative options. Several of their dishes are vegetarian or vegan-friendly too. My husband and I went there last Saturday. I got their carmelized banana and pecan French toast and it was incredible! My husband also loves their B.A.E. (bagel, avocado, egg) sandwich. Its better to go earlier if you want to beat the rush, but Annas House is a great option for delicious breakfast food!
Went today for about the 3rd or 4th time. The food was good, though a little bit more expensive than your typical breakfast restaurant due to the their use of local, organic ingredients. The decor and ambiance is fantastic, with the 50s-60s vibe throughout. The only downside to it is that it almost always busy when Ive been there, with a half hour+ wait. Still, a good experience worth checking out.
Within the past year this place has gone downhill. The waiters still do a decent job. But the cooks ignorantly and very purposely burned my food because I had them remake it because my burger wasn’t well done and still very pink. I’m sorry not everyone likes their meat still looking like fresh flesh. As you can see my BREAD is literally burned. Manager told me she can’t do a refund and gave me store credit, went in to use the store credit and it wasn’t available. Ended up losing three or more dollars because they ended up giving me a thirty dollar gift card. And my food cost more than that.
Be prepared for a wait on Sunday mornings, but it is so worth it. Second time eating here and it still exceeds expectations. Pictured is the Huevos Rancheros with Pork Carnitas and Corn tortillas. Amazing flavor in the salsa, perfect seasoning on the refried beans and pork all balanced perfectly with the runny egg yolk. I have yet to leave this place disappointed. Pack your patience, but be sure to bring your appetite.
As soon as you walk in the door of Annas house its like a breath of fresh air and cheerfulness. I absolutely love the decor. Everything is super bright and cheery. Even the music is super peppy. All the staff is super friendly as well. Food is good. They even offer you a cup of coffee for the road. I will definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Very accommodating for my vegan/gluten free diet. The pancakes and red-skinned potatoes are very good. Its pricey but a nice treat for whenever the budget allows.Warning: They are short-staffed so the wait for your food might be longer but our waitress was very nice.
This is my second time to this place, and I would say it is a different experience for sure.I was pleased with the service provided, and the food was good. The waitress was very polite and accommodating. The food took a while to come out, but the waitress came out and explained how they were short staffed and my friends and I really appreciated communicating that with us.I had a good overall experience. There is definitely more room for improvement. Looking forward to my next visit.
I visited for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The menu had a nice variety of breakfast and lunch dishes without being overwhelming. The staff was friendly and food was delicious without being heavy.I really enjoyed the corn beef hash with basted eggs and my lunch guest stated that the hangover omelette was great. I am definitely going again to try the chicken and waffles. The restaurant looked clean with bright spring- colored painted walls, super high ceilings, cute decorations and a nice variety of music subtly playing for atmosphere. The seating is appropriately distanced and guests came in with masks before eating.
I read the reviews which seem to be really good. My friend and I had an awful experience. We stopped there for lunch on a weekday. There were few customers. We ordered simple meals to prepare. Forty-five minutes later we were still sitting there. When our meals came out, they were lukewarm. I ordered a scramble with avocado. The avocado they brought out was rotten. I asked the waitress to replace it which she tried to do, but all their avocados were no good. She brought me some guacamole. She tried. Now we’ve been sitting there an hour. I asked for the Manager. He sauntered over and asked what was wrong. I told him what was wrong and showed him the avocado. He asked me if I had tasted it. I told him no and that it never should have been served. He asked if I wanted to have them fix something else. I did not want to waste anymore time there. I told him just take the meals off the bill. He is the Manager, but said he couldn’t make the decision; he would have to call someone. So 15 minutes later, he was still talking on the phone and we were still waiting. Unbelievably bad customer service. I finally made the decision for him and we walked out. If you look at their pics of meals you can see an avocado with black that shouldn’t be served. Oh, I forgot, his excuse for the avocado was that’s how they were delivered.
Cute interior. Service was pretty terrible. Caused our food to come out luke warm. Carnitas were dry as the desert, I had to dump salsa on them for them to be edible. Corn tortillas could break your teeth. Tator tot casserole was amazing. Hubby had chicken & waffles, it was pretty good but comes with maple gravy on top. Well go back and try again, hopefully have a better server.Update from 9/30- more bad service. Out of the 5 times weve been only 2 good servers. Not great. See photo, that is what I got for $10.25. It does come with an egg I asked to be left off and added the sprouts. You pretty much have to know what is worth ordering to make the prices not over the top. Hubby had the chorizo breakfast burger. It was huge and delicious. I guess I just picked wrong. I dont know if we will go back again. Weve given then so many chances.
My friend and I stopped in for lunch. We sat at the counter and waited 15min - finally, we were given menus. We ordered a salad, wrap & BLT. An HOUR AND A HALF later....nothing! During this time, we asked another waitress twice for an update on our food!!! Our waitress never came by to see how we were doing, or ask if we needed anything...Clueless! HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!! The family next to us said they were waiting 40min for their carry out, their order was forgotten. Another man was complaining to the manager that their order was missing 🙄 Not going back!
I think this place is decorated very cute. We attempted a few times to come and couldnt for whatever reasons..we finally got there. Very retro looking and very cute! Food comes in big portions. My husband had Annas skillet, I had the twilight French toast full order. The French toast was good in the first bites, but it is very dense and heavy and a bit too sweet. Very nice presentation tho. My husband said the Annas skillet is meant for a cold day when you are hungry more too. Very good tho. The one thing we assumed when just driving by was this was a restaurant that served all meals really. But this restaurant serves alot of brunch type foods. There were some salads and one hamburger and chicken tenders, but the selection is just that for dinner items. The rest of the menu is breakfast items. If you like breakfast all day, this will be a good place to go..
I had the pleasure of eating (or inhaling divine gifts from above, if Im being honest.) here twice this weekend. My husband and I had wonderful service both times.Im NOT kidding about the food. The heavenly creatures in the kitchen didnt come to play when it comes to pancakes and the like. Today, I had the chicken sausage tater tot casserole. I was very sad that it had gone away. Ive never had anything so delicious in my life. I have a sweet, hardworking and helpful young lady named Olivia to thank for her recommendation.P.S. They also have monkey bread...TLDR: Run, do not walk, and eat here. You will thank me later! Its not really heaven (and obviously not Iowa), but its an amazing place to hit for breakfast. Do it.
What can I say? This would have absolutely been a five star review had it not been for the General Manager coming over and making a thousand excuses for why we waited for nearly an hour while he left his servers hanging in the wind because the kitchen was short staffed.I literally watched our server lose 3 or 4 tables because of how long the wait was (or in the case of a table near us - their order made wrong TWICE).That said, our server was absolutely AMAZING. She busted her backside the entire time and kept our coffee mugs full while we waited the ridiculous amount of time for our food. Tia is DEFINITELY someone I would come back to for service at Annas.I hope whomever reads this checks the manager and reminds him that it is absolutely HIS JOB to support his staff and not leave them hanging like he did. He should not be the reason his staff loses tips or has upset customers due to the ineffective methods of management.
I have been going here recently since I found out of their vegan options. Come to be served real egg and real meat. On another occasion was given real sour cream. Very disappointed to say the least. If you have vegan options make them 100% vegan! Definitely will not be coming back. All vegans stay away from here! Spend your money at Ale Mary’s, Bobcat Bonnies or make your own breakfast it’s not worth it.
Third and last time here, now time to review. Food tastes like it’s pre-cooked then microwaved before it’s served. I ordered food today for dine in and it came out 10 min later very cold. No way it was made fresh. For the high prices of the food and the low quality of preparation I would suggest going to a average Coney Island for a much better meal. My service was very poor to the point it was comical. On the plus side the interior of the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing. I would not recommend eating here.
The menu is like none I have seen they have little twists to every dish that just make them so much more amazing. The waffle I had was served with strawberries (which I requested) and a brown butter sugar whip that was out of this world. Everything was just outstanding. I had never been there before. They are a little expensive. It was 10.00 for 1 waffle but as a special occasion or a treat I will be going back their. I love the retro decor also that makes it more fascinating when you first go their. The old toasters and the way the center of it is set up like an old dinner. I love it!!
Annas House has easliy became one of my new favorite places for a good meal. I have been several times and the are always busy (which in my eyes is a sign of good food). You can put yourself in line before you arrive to shorten your wait time which is a big bonus because this place is like an Irish Pub on St Patricks day. The decor of this establishment is beautiful and gives you a really home like feeling. The staff has been awesome with the big crowds that they bring in and not to mention the cooks. Im not sure what kind of magic powder the sprinkle over the French toast but boy oh boy has everything I myself has tried, has been absolutely delicious
Raw meat, dry eggs, rotten creamer and a pint of cream filling made this restaurant fall short of our expectations. To provide some perspective I come from a family that owned restaurants up north. My aunt had two breakfast nooks, my uncle had a bar, my grandma had a diner and I personally worked for 10 years in the restaurant industry, eight years working the front end which includes leading banquets of 500+ people and two years of corporate price consulting for the largest chain restaurants in the U.S.The restaurant itself has a modern chic look. Past that the rest of the experience was abysmal. The two crepes I ordered came with a pint of cream cheese filling. Half of the filling and one extra crepe would have been perfect. My one year old got a hold of a creamer, bit into it only to be showered in rotten, curdled milk. My wifes eggs were dry and her sausage was undercooked. Its really hard to screw up breakfast food; even the potatoes were unseasoned. Im just glad we ate here first before bringing family.
I have never been here before. This past week my wife was late to work and cant be late due to her job. She had to drop me off somewhere, so she would be on time. This place was handy and opened in 3 mins. at 7 am. She pulled in and dropped me off. Now I needed to find a way to work myself. Went inside and was greeted by a very nice lady. She could tell I was a bit frazzled and asked what was wrong. I told her what happend and that I only had time for a coffee. As I ordered my cup of coffee to go. I looked around and noticed what a beautiful bright and cheerful place. She came back with my coffee and I told her, if I ended up having time for breakfast. While I waited for my very first Uber. I would be back in to order. She was very kind and gave me the cup of coffee. Which was super nice of her. It made my tough morning instantly so much easier. It turned out Uber picked me up pretty quick. So no breakfast that day. Which was disappointing. However, now I have to come back and try this place for sure!! The food looks amazing... and I tell you what. If they are this kind to a total stranger, showing me the hospitality that she did. I cant wait to come back and try their food. I bet it taste as yummy as the photos look. I will also bet the service is amazing! How very refreshing it was to be treated with this type of kindness!! The world needs more people like that hostess! Thanks again! Blessings!Your Future Customer!
Visited 7/24/21 and our server Sandra was amazing! We were on the bench seating and she was great to us. Being Saturday morning they were busy and the table beside us became frustrated with their wait and not having enough time to eat. How this was the servers problem I am not sure. However she handled it like a pro! Even though the logic of the argument didnt make the most sense to me. Not sure if Sandra was their server or not I was trying not to stare but either way they definitely put the server in an unfair position. As always great food! Will 100% be back
Visiting the kids & grandbabies for quick visit and this was chosen on recommendation. It certainly is visually appealing, nicely decorated with 1950s vibe. The food was disappointing, at best. Coffee was weak and not a very good roast. My eggs over-easy were overcooked. The hashbrowns not only were undercooked but also cold--had to send back warm. The Canadian bacon was dry and tough, as if microwaved more than once. For the premium price, really expected something better.
Friendly wait staff, clean restaurant, & super yummy food! The owner clearly cares about the customers and the reputation of the restaurant; you see it reflected in the plethora of options for food (they even have a vegan menu) and fresh juices, how timely food exits the kitchen, and the service thats given with a smile!
What an awesome experience! I was truly impressed by the level of service Lauren our server provided. My wife on multiple occasions said she is reading my mind. The food was fabulous. The portion size is another plus. I most certainly will be going back to Annas House!
I’m not even from here but I would drive 45-1hr to get the breakfast chicken tostados because I can’t find anything like it ANYWHERE I find out they condensed there menu and don’t makeIt anymore how disappointing I was soupset the manager accommodated us and was really nice but I’llNEVER come back here again that was the best thing you guys had on the menu
Was really excited to try this place but we sat down she to our drink order and it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks, the it took about the same to get food, the hash browns ,you could taste the burnt grease from the grill, the bacon and sausage, were cold, I had to ask a passing waitress, for a refill on coffee, normally I only give good reviews and dont do the bad ones, but on this one it puts itself as a high end breakfast place, and at a cost of 48.00 breakfast they should be spot on , that being said the mom and pop/coney island would have been the better choice,
Terrible experience. Waited 50 minutes after ordering just to never get our coffee or food, and the waitress was too busy managing the 4000 other tables that we couldnt even say hey! Can we get our coffee? To the waitress - I hope the money you make is worth being overworked like that, cause you deserve so much more than that place.
I have celiac disease, so I always appreciate an opportunity to come dine here (so many gluten free options!) My favorite is the gluten free cinnamon roll, so I really look forward to going for my birthday each year to get my complimentary gluten free cinnamon roll. Unfortunately, this year when I went in for my birthday treat, I was told they were totally out of the gluten free cinnamon rolls. They offered me monkey bread instead, but of course I cant eat that as it contains gluten. It was very disappointing.
We totally enjoyed our time at the Anna’s House in Westland. The food was wonderful. I love the decor and the staff was great. Elena took great care of us and Travis ( I think he is the manager) he was so hospitable and attentive to us and the other guest. I loved the space due to Covid and all the things that were put in place to keep us all safe. Thank you!!
While I don’t want to overstate things, as I only had their simple Vegan French Toast and some black coffee, Anna’s House goes above and beyond to accommodate for their vegan visitors. Arguably too many vegan options are listed on their own, separate, beautifully designed, menu - which was nonchalantly offered without me even asking for it! In a world where a decent vegan breakfast proves to be the hardest meal of the day to procure outside my own kitchen, Anna’s House not only exceed my expectations, it astronomically excelled to the highest heights of vegan breakfast cuisine; the Vegan French Toast was, simply, flawless. My only critique comes with a caveat - remember this isn’t your local, small batch, coffee roaster we are talking about. Their classic black coffee (both regular and decaf), which I consider to be a diner staple, tasted under-extracted to the point of sourness and is in dire need of an overhaul. Barring that, Anna’s House proved to be this early morning diner’s dream come true.
Today was my first visit to Anna’s House in Westland. I had heard good things and was anxious to try it. It exceeded all my expectations. The staff and food were amazing! After learning it was my first visit, the manager gave me some coupons to use next time. I will definitely be back! I’m still raving about the giant cinnamon roll!!
This place used to be my favorite but now its horrible. I had chicken and waffles, the waffle was mush and I had to throw the chicken out. My coffee tasted like old coffee and cleaner. My cinnamon roll was just a large dry biscuit. My partner had undercooked potatoes and more water then coffee. I cant believe I spent $53 dollars on food and still had to go buy food at a coney island. I can only assume its new owners that decided to use the cheapest ingredients but keep the high prices and kick out all the old chefs. I wont be back.
This has definitely been one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had to deal with at a restaurant. My co workers and I ordered through grub hub and I went to pick up our order. When I went to pick up our food I was told everything we had ordered was in the bag. I decided to order additional drinks and paid for them at the breakfast bar with a tip. A server came up to me as I was sitting and asked if I could get up and leave so she could sit two other people down before I even received my drinks as if I wasn’t a paying customer. Our bill was well over $70 for carry out. I drive back to work and then realize two meals were missing. I called and spoke to manager who had to remake the food. As I come back into the restaurant I explain that my meals were being remade, and I was told I was number 8 in line and that it would be an additional 15 minutes. I get back the second time and realize another one of my co workers orders was incorrect, and my sausage was pink and raw. We had to go back a third time. Only to be refunded for the meals that were incorrect and had to call grub hub to process.
Arrived and ordered straight away, advising that my son had a doctor appointment (order was placed 40 minutes ahead of planned departure). Inquired as to the status of the order after 25 minutes, and staff said she will check and send manager over. Meanwhile, a couple of tables that ordered after us received their food. Manager came by and advised that 25 minutes should not be too long to wait for food, which I reminded that we mentioned our tight window upon ordering, and now we need carry out containers. All the while, no refills on coffee. It finally came to a point that we had to leave for my sons appointment, so I walked to the service station and asked for the manager so I can pay for my (2) coffees so we can leave. The manager said, So, youre gonna waste this food?. I said, No mam, you wasted this food.. She rolled her eyes and said, have a nice day and turned away.We love the selections at Annas House, and regret the service that comes along with it. Weve had remarkable service at the Farmington Hills location, which will now have all our business. The service at the Westland location has been sketchy at times, but this time we turn away for good.Michael K
I was just at Anna’s house for brunch. I have to say from the moment I walked in the door the ladies at the counter treated me with smiles (although the wear mask) I explained that it was my first time there they then began to tell me about my options as a vegan.I was seated then greeted by my waitress her name is Jessica, she was so knowledgeable about the entire vegan 🌱 menu and asked me my likes and dislikes. Well after chancing her suggestion I must say I was very pleased with the fresh Route 66 fresh squeezed Juice and the Vegan Chipotle Bowl, ummmm um very yummy compliments to the Chef for his skills and ability to make this meal very tasteful. The prices are reasonable considering they only get their food from the local area, everything is cooked and prepared fresh. I am very pleased with this place and will be back again Please consider this place especially if your vegan! 9-3-20
This place is a joke now. When it first opened up it was great now the portions are small. Obviously the chefs don’t know how to read because the order always no matter what comes out wrong. Portions are small and the food is awful and bland. They throw veggies in the omelette. To make everything even worse I’m in the middle of leaving this review and I ended up finding a hair in my omelette. This place is so damn gross.
We found this place online and stopped in recently on a trip to Michigan. Its a bright, nicely decorated place. Clean and cheerful, youll feel good walking in.Got seated quickly and service was excellent - friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We had brunch and both of us had dishes with corned beef in them. The corned beef was perfect. Tasty, lean and very tender. Every item, including the coffee was perfect. Our very nice waitress Jade was great. We were staring at another waitress who looked just like her on the way out and she said that, yes, they were twins. We had a laugh with the also beautiful Jasmine and went out with a smile. If youre anyplace near here, please do not miss this gem!
About a week ago I went here with my little brother for breakfast. I only get to have it when Im in Michigan, so I was pleased that it did not let me down. Everything was perfect and the service is top-notch. I love that they have juices as well. So many different unique plates makes me want to keep coming back and trying them. I will be sure to stop in next time Im in Michigan as well.
The restaurant was nice, food was average good. But what I don’t understand is how you put endless biscuits and gravy on the menu just to later say that only the gravy is endless not the biscuits, so in reality you get 2 biscuits and as much gravy as you want? That doesn’t even make sense.
Terrible experience and terrible food. I ordered the tater tot casserole with egg whites and my fiancé had a veggie egg white omelette. I’ve had the casserole once before when the place first opened and it was really good but this time it was awful and made completely different then the first time I had it. No tater tots in it at all which was odd as it is a tatertot casserole.... Just a bunch of smushed up potatoes with some cheese melted on top and then they give me this tiny portion of egg whites on the side that was probably 2 bites worth. On top of that the food was cold and very bland after waiting for 50 mins to be seated. They messed up on my fiancé’s omelette when she specifically acts for no green peppers instead it came loaded with them. They made her a new one only for her to find a HAIR in it. They don’t even mix in the veggies with their omelettes they just cook the eggs and toss some veggies in between. Only decent things we enjoyed we’re our lattes. Overall it just looks like they have lazy chefs who put zero effort into their food or don’t know how to cook at all. I can’t cook at all and can honestly say I would have made better food than this. Definitely the worst breakfast experience we’ve ever had and will be our last visit. Place has gone really downhill since they first opened.

2022-01-22The breakfast lasagna is good. The pancakes are too sweet for me. My husband had hair on his plate but the situation was immediately corrected by the manager!! Overall the food is good.

2022-01-15Anna’s House is a little cute breakfast/brunch spot. The staff was very friendly and the food was pretty good. They have a lot of options to choose from including Vegan options. I would recommend.

2021-12-06Really love the decor and service.Higher prices. My item was more like bread pudding and I cant recommend it unless youre in that mood. Higher quality items are a pleasant touch and make the experience feel more enriching.

2022-02-03Its been awhile since I dined here and i forgot how good the food is. It is a little more cost wise but you get quality food. And as a added bonus, the atmosphere is perfect. A bright cheery look always makes your visit soecial.

2022-06-14Monkey bread, chicken quesadilla, and double decker blt all pretty good. The money bread was the best in my opinion. The bread for the blt was a bit hard and my fries were cold. Also, the servers have so many tables to tend to, our waitress only came back to our table once. On top of that we watched each table around us get our food before us. We get things happen but it would’ve been nice to get an update on the time our food would be coming out.

2021-09-29We went for a Brunch on Monday as they are extremely busy on weekends.Brittany was our server, she was fantastic. One of the best servers we have had in a long time.Food was great. Vegetarian Quesadillas were the best ones we have had ever. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience. It was just perfect.

2021-11-06The place is well kept, well decorated and welcoming. The food is alright, but the way they do eggs is not the best. We served 5 different types of dishes and it wasnt great. I wouldnt recommend serving anything with eggs. The american fries are awesome, the latte is good, the chai latte and the juices were also good.Next time I would try out the wraps because they seemed good. Its a bit overrated with long wait times and long wait until food comes out.

2022-02-24Cinnamon Roll is big in size. Not inviting to look at. Not warmed. I did like the Frosting on the side. Overall, it placed a 3 in stars. The waitresses get a 5 🌟 for excellent and friendly service!! Very kind and perfessional

2022-05-09I’ve eaten at Anna’s a handful of times and the food is generally great. Lots of vegan options that actually taste good. But I’m leaving two stars for the following reasons:1) We were told the wait for seating would be about 45 minutes. Instead we chose to sit at the “bar top” (first come, first serve). I forgot we were still in the queue to be seated at a regular table, which actually ended up being 1 hr and 30 minutes I received the text to when we would’ve been seated.2) We put our order in for food around 11:40a. The food wasn’t served to us until 1:05pm. That’s 1 hr and 25 minutes of drinking coffee, folks. Not too bad with good conversation, but just unacceptable by most restaurant standards.3) And this is my biggest pet peeve: while sitting and waiting for our food, we watched tens of people being served via take-out / online orders. Honestly, management needs to better account for in-dining guests / services and shut down take out orders on Sundays. I understand it’s additional revenue to collect for the business and some customers prefer Anna’s at home, but not at the expense of those in the restaurant. It was a rather miserable experience, and I can’t say I’m in a hurry to go back.
