Its good to see the place open up again. They are being careful with fewer people, required preregistration and masks during open skate times. The online registration portal is a bit cumbersome especially if trying to register multiple people. The rink is as you would expect.Rental skates could be better. In our group several people had to go back and exchange for different ones because either the laces or hooks were broken or the boot was just too stretched out.FYI, if this is your first time going there then its good to know that the entrance is at the back.
I’ve ice skated here many times. This place is great! Staff skates on the ice with everyone to make sure that everyone is safe and that no one gets hurt. They play music over the speakers while you skate which makes skating more fun than it already is. It gets really busy though because people love skating here. Bring your family and friends, you’ll have a great time!
There are 2 ice rinks there. During the day mon-fri it appears they are only for figure skating. Hockey use begins after 5pm. Saturday mornings as well its only for figure skating hockeys stars afterwards. Sunday there is no figure skating. They do have open ice times but its limited if at all due to covid based on the Governors orders.
My kids took the learn to skate class and by the end of the first class they were moving along on the ice. Ms. Tammy and Ms. Jillian are so patient with the kids and meet each need that is brought out in learning to ice skate. Great choice of music playing during open skate too!
Fantastic hockey facility with 2 pads of ice and spacious locker rooms. Clean and well kept. It has a huge lobby and lots of parking. The only draw back is that the benches have some weird brackets near the floor that players have to step over to enter the ice. Its weird and perplexing to me that it isnt fixed.Ive been coaching here for years and have always wondered.Anyway, doesnt really change much.
It would be nice if this place offered sticks and pucks more often and open skates during the week. This is the closest rink to where I live but sticks and pucks are only offered when the kids are not in school, which is not often during the school year and of course during the summer. I have been to open skate a few times but there were so many people that it was hard to really get some practice on my skating.
Go to open skate at your own risk. Had too many kids pushing my 4 year old and my wife around. Also, you need to open one of the bigger doors for the ice rink. You cant have 500 people pushing through a 1 person door. Have more control. Workers need to step up and be more assertive with customers getting on the ice.
The rental skates havent been sharpened in who knows how long. My daughter rented skated and the blades were rusty. Which is probably why the open skating rink was so beat up. The door to get on and off the ice was so small, it took all the open skaters 10mins + to get off the ice. I fear how many casualties there would be if a fire broke out!The concessions were decently priced and the staff was nice. But I think we will find another rink to go to for open skating in the future.
The place is fine to skate, but two of the arcade games were out of order and hand no signs on the games. My daughters friend attempted to inform an attendant only to have the person walk away on her. It took myself over 20 minutes to get someone who could help. Its not a place to just to leave kid unsupervised. Kids are running the place and who dont have clue on customer service.
Went to the place called the LAB. Its inside the Arctic Edge you enter at the front, it would have been really nice of the coach that were going to meet if he would have told us that it was inside the Arctic Edge. Maybe a larger Sandwich Board type sign out front other than just a 11 by 8.5 inch piece of paper taped to the front door would have been more appropriate.
Maybe it was just because it was a Saturday but this place was really crowded and it was not organized at all. At the half way point they zamboni-ed the ice and they had one exit and it was a cluster for the people coming off the ice. Im sure on another day it might be better.

2022-02-18Its a nice place, staff is very nice and the concession stand is honestly my favorite part, very sweet people, my daughter loves doing the open skate, a bit on the freezing side but its an ice rink so its expected. Pretty nice place so have no complaints about the facility and staff.HOWEVER the families that bring their children/teenagers there and let them act as if its a jungle gym amazes me. Kids run around everywhere, climb on top of the change machines, horse around on the bike game and slap the glass constantly, scream as if they were out at a park and their parents just laugh ( if they are even out there with the kids). Staff does nothing about it which I understand because parents get so rude when you try to say anything to them nicely instead of telling them to get their kids under control.

2019-10-08Pretty well maintained rink. Exact same layout as Arctic Coliseum in Chelsea. Lots of different ages and levels of hockey and a large figure skating program. They also have open skate. Snack bar and pro shop as well.
