This is the hidden gem of the Brighton area! I say hidden, but you can see it from the main road without any hint that it is a fine dining restaurant! Dont be fooled by the fact that it used to be a coney island (I think) that you went to once five years ago.So yes, Artas has been there for four years and we just found it! The food was incredible! Everything was fresh, well seasoned and hot. Our service was friendly and fast, but not in a hurried way. All of the staff working the front of the house said hello to us and asked how everything was. The manager/owner (?) stopped by and checked on us as well.We had the arugula pear salad, insalata caprese, little pasta purses stuffed with Italian sausage, and mushroom risotto and they were all spectacular! The only thing we were unimpressed with was dessert, so just plan on skipping it imo.The wine list is very impressive but expect a appropriately high price (i.e. Chateau Lafite Rothschild).
Food was amazing. Had the Polo Parmigiana, Pasta Fagoli, and cheese cake. Service was quick and friendly. Everyone in the group enjoyed the food. Only negative was they didn’t have their liquor license yet, so no wine to pair with the food. They are expecting to get the license in August. We would definitely be back once they have drink options.
Be sure to ask the price before ordering the specials...Dined here a couple weeks ago. Food was delicious but, in the case of the Chilean Sea Bass dish/special for the day (which consisted of risotto, green beans, and the fish), way over priced. Sadly, I had not asked the price prior to ordering, my fault. $50 for that dish was just a little too aggressive pricing for my comfort. Next time Ill know better. I did ask about the price after receiving the bill and was told that costs had gone up to $36 a pound. For the record, the dish did not consist of a whole pound of the fish. Still having a hard time reasoning the charge for that particular dish. Again, I think its very aggressive pricing.3 stars because of the price. Food was very good,, no complaints. May or may not dine here again...4/25/2022 - replying to owner: thanks for the response but I still maintain that we were over charged for the dish. One can readily purchase Chilean Sea Bass at Costco these days and pay less than $50 for a full 2 pounds of the fish. Its not at all hard to find in restaurants that are on par with your venue. Thanks for the reply.
Whole experience felt a little scattered. Hostess seemed confused when there wasnt a table setting for 2 and had to clear 2 spots. Personal preference, the Cesar dressing could have used a tab bit more red wine vinegar, but was decent. Chicken parm was good. Decent sized portions. Veal dish was decent. Avoid the main street cab. Horrific.
We picked this place on a quick run up to Howell area. Kind of a strange strip mall location. Inside was a nice looking restaurant with well dressed staff. Took a little while to get service and once we did get a server it dragged on 3 or 4 visits before he took our order. Started with salads. My ceaser salad was ok bonus it came with anchovies. The house salad was filled with nice looking veggies. Dinner course finally arrived and my order was wrong. Instead of waiting for another it opted to eat it. It was the servers fault for entering incorrectly. The ladies meal was good nice bowtie pasta in a nice sauce. Enjoyed the meal but nothing that really sparked my interest enough for a better review.
Amazing place. Extremely well tended to. The TOMAHAWK was SPECTACULAR. Perfectly cooked. HUGE!!!! AMAZING. Service was excellent. Very courteous, very attentive without being cloying. The Clam Chowder was great. The Carbonara felt authentic, which is really hard on the typical Americanized Italian restaurants, and as said before the Tomahawk was JUST perfect. Coffee was great and the cheesecake was to die for. Truly a great place. The price was reasonable. Will definitely be back, and whoever is reading, SO SHOULD YOU!
We had the. Bolognese, 2 carbonara, mushroom risotto, and baci special. The risotto was cooked well, but was a bit flat. It needed salt or cheese or something. The carbonara both had so much black pepper it came across spicy to both my wife and son. The Baci pasta was tender and came in a saffron cream sauce and even shaved black truffle. The sauce was good but I couldnt taste any of the pasta filling through the cream sauce. Service was good and the decor was nice albeit as little chilly. Not inexpensive and also not good enough to go again.
Visiting from ID and had a great experience at Atra’s. Nicest restaurant I’ve been in since being in So. Cal. Service was very good and food was awesome. Enjoyed my linguine with mussels, shrimp, calamari, and scallops-perfectly prepared and tasted great. Had a very nice 2017 Chianti. If I lived here I’d be a regular patron. Reservations needed.
First time experiance..In a inconspicuous stripmall location will amaze you with the fine cuisine and atmosphere. Not what I was expecting but a wonderful suprise. Although expensive my dinner of salmon with shrimp was one of the best I have ever had, my companion had a wonderful steak.. If you want a 5 Star meal along with a incredible wine list, this place doesnt dissapoint. The owners attention to detail is evident.
This is in an off the wall location in a small shopping center along Grand River between Brighton and Howell. Weve been here numerous times and have thoroughly enjoyed each experience...not only the amazing food but also the friendly service. Chef Sam makes each of our visits feel special to him. These days many restaurants struggle to have enough staffing so be prepared to relax and enjoy the music and company. The new bar is a great addition and we look forward to dropping in for a drink and an app! We very much encourage you all to support this establishment!
I had a fantastic evening at this restaurant!. This restaurant is not a fast food place. Everything is made to order and with care. I had an excellent Caesar salad and Chilean sea bass for dinner. My friends had ravioli and filet they looked amazing. We had several appetizers--they were all good. The owner Sam was very gracious. Loved the atmosphere with white cloth. The prices were very reasonable for the quality food I received. I would consider this the best Italian restaurant in town.
What an amazing dinner with great service! This is a hidden gem in Brighton! The menu has something for everyone. We ordered the lobster ravioli and the sea bass and lemon risotto special. Both were amazing as was the bruschetta and burrata caprese. Great wine list. We could go on and on. We will be back!
Our server Thomas was great, attentive and knowledgeable but unfortunately the food was just not good for the price, I ordered their Chilean Seabass and it was so rubbery I couldnt get my fork thru it. Ate one bite & ended up with a piece of chicken instead. A sad replacement for what I thought was going to be such a delicious meal. We received the bill and it still had a $40 fish special on it. I didnt mind paying for the chicken I ate but was upset when charged for the seabass. Brought it to the owners attention and it was taken care of . Overall service was good but food was not worth the money
Sorry to say this was first time here despite living in the area for a few years, and man was I mad at myself. Food was great, decent wine selection, service was fantastic (thanks Janice!!) - No complaints at all.Menu was good, especially considering all Covid related stuff...I would really recommend this place for an Italian meal, even if it’s hidden away in a strip mall. Not too fussy, but enough so you don’t feel like you’re at some pub or chain place. We had some calamari to start - not chewy at all. Nice warm bread as well to boot.I actually got a steak, I have a weakness for dry aged beef I must admit. My Wife has the mushroom risotto and it was fantastic. Steak cooked perfect, even the green beans were cooked perfect - not too mushy and just enough garlic.
Food was outstanding. Probably top 5 meals Ive ever had. Clam chowder was the best hands down. Very clam forward, instead of potatoes, which I appreciate. Bread was delicious, could have been more generous with oil and vinegar though. The only thing lacking for me was atmosphere. Decor, artwork, better lighting, music. But its newer and I know that stuff takes time and money... well definitely go back!!!
Artas Italian Restaurant is an excellent fine dining experience. The staff is so pleasant and knowledgeable and ready to act on your requests. The Chef creates incredible dishes to delight your palate. Wonderful wine selections. The music is wonderful and adds to the elegant ambiance. We especially enjoy celebrating our anniversary at Artas.
We had a large party of 8 and had one of the most wonderful meals I can remember. Shared calamari was crisp with a wonderful dipping sauce. We ordered house wine which was reasonably priced and very good. All of the meals were wonderful and the chef sent us complimentary dessert. Will be back again soon!
FRESH FRESH FRESH A hidden gem between Howell & Brighton. Fine dining atmosphere & food, yet very comfortable Our Server Janice was very nice, helpful & efficient. Food is very fresh and homemade. The pear arugula salad was fresh and delicious. The Bacci special was sausage in a cream sauce which was AMAZING ....the pasta was so fresh it melted in your mouth! I highly recommend Artas Italian Restaurant!!!!!
The food is great, made fresh from scratch. Ive been in 3 or 4 times, and I expect because its such great, fresh food that it takes a little longer to make and that is wonderful, actually. If you want Italian food made fresh for you, you should be okay to spend some time waiting and talking to your date or family -- enjoy your time together. Most recently, I brought seven people here for a birthday. They took care of everything for us, everyone was very impressed with the food.I highly recommend this place -- its never so busy you need to think twice about going, and their wait staff is very professional, good people.
It is hard to put into details how great and authentic this restaurant is. They make almost everything from scratch and when it is ordered. We found this place on a google search when I we were passing through. I have to say, I am already planning to eat here again. We had the bruschetta and tiger shrimp for an appetizer. Those alone were some of the most fresh and flavorful I have had. My girlfriend had the portabella ravioli and I had the veal parmesan. They were both excellent and filling. I have to add that the portabella cream sauce of the ravioli was so unforgettable that I cannot stop thinking about it even as I write this review. That is going to be my next selection upon our return. The staff was friendly and the place is stylish and fancy. For all the glamour and flavor you get with your dining experience here the prices are also very reasonable.
The owner/Chef met us at the door and seated us personally and after that we had a wonderful server who was very patient while my father took forever to decide what he wanted. Throughout our meal, the owner asked us how our food was and was very personable. My family and I really enjoy trying different Italian restaurants and so far, this is one of the best. The food was amazing, their service was fast and very nice, and the atmosphere was warm. At the end of our meal before we paid, since we had never been there prior, the owner came over and asked how our meal was. After talking for a few, he sat with us, gave us a complimentary drink and just talked with us. That is so rare these days and goes such a long way! Thank you so much and we highly recommend this restaurant!
My wife and I have been wanting to stop in for awhile. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. We wanted to try a few things to we ordered mussels, soup, salad and margherita pizza. All were outstanding, especially the homemade soups. Our server was newer but very attentive. The owner Sam came and introduced himself and we had a nice conversation. You can tell hes passionate about his business. He was training our server who was new to make sure everything was perfect. Well definitely be back and order entrees next time when we have more time. Give this place a try.👍
Met Sam and Janice, best new favorite restaurant. Bringing our friends back for dinner during the soon. The quality of the food was exceptionally high the service was five star! Restaurant was very neat and clean and orderly. The atmosphere was very quiet and very quaint. The wine selections are extremely palatable.
Food and service were top notch! We got there 40 minutes before closing, were never rushed or made to feel we needed to hurry. Our server was amazing! At 10pm to have that energy and eight kids to go home to, kudos! The food was prepared just as stated, perfectly cooked shrimp and scallops for me! Will be returning!
I have never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant. Whether it was because we didnt have reservations or because we brought two kids, but the manager (owner) made us feel like there wasnt any room for us and yet there were only two tables with guests - otherwise the restaurant was empty. Our waitress Jennifer was amazing and warm and friendly. The food was fine (bread was exceptional) but while we sat there, we watched the manager greet every other guest through the door with a gracious, welcoming manner. So maybe with a reservation and without kids itll be enjoyable for you but we wont be back.
Weve been four or five times now and love this restaurant. There are a lot of choices for Italian food in the area but after friends recommended Artas we havent been to any of the others. The food and wine are superb and Sam makes you feel like family when you arrive. Its perfect for a quiet dinner, a business meeting, or to take a group of friends.
This place is amazing! The food is out of this world! We had salmon with shrimp, and scallops. WOW is all I can say! My husband had a stake with mashed potatoes. He said he he steak would melt in your mouth. My son had the pollo spaghetti. He said that the as to die for. I can not say enough great things about this place. We will definitely go back!
Fantastic place! Our service was excellent. Janice was seriously one of the nicest and most professional waitresses Ive ever had. The food was amazing, I requested something that wasnt necessarily on the menu and they made it happen without a second thought. And it was so incredibly delicious. Best Italian Ive had in Michigan. I also had the cab-sav, also very good! The environment was classy, although it seemed to be a slow night, I cant imagine why, the place is a gem! They have a grand piano on the restaurant floor - great date night, especially with live music.
The food was delicious but SO slow. The chef came out to apologize with a free after dinner drink but we were there 3 hours. Not cool. Nice atmosphere, good wait staff. Said they were understaffed but another table next to us who came in later was served ahead of us. Again not cool. May go back for food quality but they need to be better staffed.
I just went to this restaurant for the first time last night and I had the linguine pescatore. It was fabulous! The scallops were the most tender I’ve ever had even better than in some 4 star restaurants. And everything else in this dish (shrimp, mussels, calamari) were awesome as well. At first it didn’t look like they gave enough but I still couldn’t finish it even w/o having a salad. Waitstaff was wonderful as well. Since we went on an early Monday night and wasn’t crowded at all but they were very friendly and refilled our water and even our oil for the bread. I’d definitely recommend this for a nice, special night out.
The food was flavorless and way overpriced. $85, and the only decent thing was the bread. The pizza was alright, but about equivalent to Little Caesars. The building used to be a diner, and the only change they made to it on the inside to make it into a high end restaurant is literally they just threw some white linen table cloths over the tables and have the wait staff dress decently in all black. The only good item of note is that the waitress was very friendly and attentive. Overall, it was a complete waste of money. We will never go back.
Had another wonderful dining experience last evening. Professional staff, ambiance and most of all fantastic food. Well done Sam!It is so nice to enjoy a meal with quality food, prepared to perfection; with great friends and be able to carry a conversation without having to scream across the table. You are 5 star plus every time we dine here. Amanda you were a great attentive waitress. Looking forward to a repeat visit soon.
The food here is really amazing. It is very well quality. The service is quick. They sell quality refreshments. The food has a well done presentation. The cooks do very well with the food. Ive never experienced such good Italian food. I recommend this place for everyone. The menu has a great amount of varieties. They are willing to make changes to their dishes.
Excellent food and service. I wish we had discovered this place sooner. Cozy room with great lighting and music, (how can you go wrong with Sinatra and Nat King Cole?). Our waitress was perfect. . .attentive without being pushy. We are already looking forward to a return visit.
Unfortunately it was not good in spite of all the positive reviews. Made a reservation for 6 and left a note in the comments it was our sons birthday. The waitress informed us she didnt even look at the books and didnt know. This was only the beginning of a long night. Poor service since they had only 2 servers on and the food was far from good. We are not one to complain and had a understanding of the situation that the waitress informed us of. By the time the kids received there food that was placed at the same time of the appetizers they were beyond starving. We were told the printer ran out of paper. Which I am sure it did but I was upset that they didnt even have bread to eat. The poor waitress also told us she is the one who puts the bread in the oven for her tables. Seems a little to much for the waitstaff. Needless to say we had to ask for more bread many times. The waitress did try and was a pleasant person.Sad we spent over 2 hours and over $250 for such a unpleasant night.
A co-worker and myself ended up working very late at the office. We headed out to get a bite to eat and found all the restaurants closed. The only place with lights on and and Open sign was Artas right down the street from our office on Grand River in Brighton. Neither of us had ever been there before, but we figured wed give it a try. However, as we walked up to the door, we noticed their hours indicated they were closing in 15 minutes. Expecting to be turned away, we started to walk back to our cars, but a really classy gentleman opened the door. ushered us in, assured us we were welcome, and promised hed make sure we had a really nice dinner. And he did! The chef stayed late, the food was great and the service was above and beyond. This is one restaurant you ought to patronize. Elegant surroundings and an upscale classy Italian menu.I liked it better than Ciao Amicis. Be sure to patronize them!
My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at Artas Italian for the first time. What a hidden gem. We couldnt wait to write a positive review. I should note my wife is Italian and we both are a little snobby when it comes to food. Artas exceeded all our expectations . . and then some!!! Also, Sam, the owner, was engaging and made the whole experience better. We will be back soon.
We ran across this restaurant today hoping to find a good place for dinner on Fourth of July. This place had never before came up on my online search results. I called ahead to make sure they were open and spoke to a friendly individual that welcomed us to come on in.I think the man was owner that waited on us. He provided outstanding service and was very gracious and funny. He brought us a complimentary bruschetta appetizer. We each had a salad. My caesar salad was the best I’ve had. It was made properly with the best parts of the lettuce, dried, torn by hand, and the homemade dressing was wonderful. My husband had the special which was a pasta with a creamy sauce with sausage and mushroom. The dish was excellent and you could taste the freshness in the noodle. I ordered the rack of lamb and it was executed perfectly. The gentleman that helped us cleaned our messy table after the bread and I remarked that I needed one of those table cleaning tools for my home. To my astonishment, the gentleman gave me a new one to take home. I thought this place was definitely a cut about the other Italian restaurants in SE Michigan. If your looking for an inexpensive place to go for dinner, there are some less expensive choices on the menu. The dishes we ordered where at the higher price point, but I don’t mind paying for appetizing food that’s prepared well. Thanks again for the wonderful the experience we had in your restaurant.
Had dinner February 12. Due to Covid restrictions it was reservation only and less than 50% capacity. We waited 1:30 to get our food... a solid hour between our appetizers and main course. Couldn’t even get water refilled or a drink the entire time... Food was ver very mediocre and atmosphere .. well it’s in a strip mall and feels like it... too bad ... wanted to like it but won’t be back
We had reservations at 5:45 on a Wednesday. We were seated right away and given menus and then ignored. It took us 30 minutes to get water and another 15 before we were asked what we wanted to drink. It took another 15 minutes to bring a soda, an iced tea and two glasses of wine. When we asked for separate checks, we were told that was too difficult and given quite a reprimand about how the kitchen couldnt handle so many and that we should have had a special menu, but they were making an exception for us. There were 11 in our group, but the website says its only groups of 15 or more who need special menues. He said he would check with the kitchen and never came back. We were ready to leave until another waitress talked us into staying. She offered bread, which took a long time because the bread was stuck in the oven. It was 8 before we got our food -- except for the two meals they forgot. Based on the menu, I was excited to try multiple meals, but the service and attitudes were so bad, I wont be back.
Forget about the Coney that was at this location a few years ago. Chef Sam is really trying to make his restaurant the best Italian food in Livingston county and I believe hes done it. The menu is top notch Italian food. The meal was amazing with clean, fresh flavors. Thank you and see you soon.
Truly authentic Italian. Our meals arrived and we noticed the ingredients were not as described in the menu. Pricey when you consider entrees are a la carte and servings are small. We prefer traditional Italian food. The atmosphere was lovely. The staff was gracious and accommodating
Awesome! More people need to know about Artas. Food was great, service wonderful. The owner/executive chef came to our table multiple times to make sure everything was good. Truly the best restaurant in the Brighton/Howell area. Scallops melt in your mouth. This hidden gem needs to be known by more peoope.
Mother’s Day with a reservation. 2 hours and 15 so far; still waiting on my bill. Three people in my party. Food food. Service EXTREMELY slow. Lots of apologies but that doesn’t change much. 30 minutes to get salads, another 40 to get main course. Can’t even tell you how long to get desserts which were included in the fixed menu. Cheesecake still partially frozen. Clearly understaffed. They indicated, “This always happens when they have a large party going on.” We’ll learn to staff for it.Won’t be back even thought the food was good.
This was a terrible experience, similar to another reviewer who felt totally ignored due to possibly not having a reservation. The restaurant was more that half empty, it was 9 pm, I don’t think the people of Brighton were going to show up en masse at that time. It started right off the bat, with the male waiter, who looked like a poor man’s De Niro, almost disappointed to see customers enter the restaurant. We guessed correctly then and there, this was going to be a disaster on the service front. After being seated, he ignored us for like 20-25 min before the sweet lady waiter informed him that we were waiting for giving our order. He took our order as if he was getting an offer he was gonna refuse. This was in contrast with the way he was treating other diners, friendly, very chatty and well behaved. Only once, after the food arrived, did he come to our table, I think almost forcibly. He asked how our food was and left the table before we could even reply how it was!!The 2 stars are for the food which was good and the lady waiter who got us the bread was really sweet. But Mr Corleone needs to learn some manners or just ask us to leave since it’s a reservation only. Still, I mean more than half the restaurant was empty:D and could have done with a few more customers on a weekend night.Possibly on our BANNED list!
The food was amazing, and the service was impeccable. Dont be fooled by the appearance; the layout implies the previous occupant was a diner or an ice cream parlor. That said, the establishment is nicely appointed, and extremely clean. And the cuisine speaks for itself.
Total let down, two hours to get dinner on the table. Place was empty at 6 for dinner? Two other tables occupied thats it. Food was less then acceptable for the wait. Got served 4 loafs of bread for the trouble. Felt like a kitchen nightmares episode. Bad attitude from the owner twords us about everything being so terrible. The waitress was very sweet and nice
First time here, and was so impressed. Everything made fresh. Absolutely delicious. Amanda our server was kind and very knowledgeable of the menu. She was attentive and pleasant. Even more impressive was the fact that Sam the chef, personally visited every table there to make sure everyones dining experience was fabulous. Explained to Sam that we had just visited Bobby Flays restaurant in Atlantic City the week prior and this place blew it out of the water. So pleased. Will definitely be back. If I could change one thing, would be the Bacci special would be on the menu permanently. Thanks again for a great experience.
I had great hopes for this place, sadly they were dashed. The menu reminded of the ones I ordered off of in Italy, the problem was execution. The Carbonara was dry and tasteless. The Veal cut like it was from an old nag. The Olive Oil tasted like it may have been third pressing at best. The Spaghetti was overcooked. I have had better at Olive Garden. Then there was the Service. I was eating alone and was there for over an hour, my water was refilled once and I saw my server a total of 3 times. At the price point theyre asking, I would expect much better service. I can not say this any stronger, Do Not Waste Your Time and Money on this place. I would have given zero 🌟 if I could have.
Perhaps the best italian restaurant in 50 miles. The owner is friendly and works hard to give his customers a great experience every night. A wonderful wine and beer selection with traditional imports and a menu that gives a broad and genuine taste of Italy. Cant reccomend this place enough!
Awesome food !! Personable service, priced more than fair given the quality. Dont be put off by unassuming location, once inside the ambience and staff especially the owner/chef Sam will make you believe your in Italy. Enjoyable Dinning is taken seriously here, dont miss the opportunity to experience this wonderful ristorante.
The setting is so comfortable. The food!!this is truly the best Italian Ive ever eaten!...best kept Brighton/Howell secret at this time...but not for long!,,Service was also amazing! So nice to go somewhere not only,,to enjoy such good food but actually be able to carry on a conversation with your dinner partners!
Terrible service. Took over an hour to get bread. Drinks took longer then that. We got our food 2 hours after arriving. And we had a reservation. One waiter for the entire place. He seemed to be the main chef too. Simply unacceptable. Food is decent. Ive had better. Ordered the pollo parm.
The food is incredible. They have a Grand Piano, where the heck is Earl Williams, the greatest piano player in Brighton if you remember the Canopy. Our server was 100% on target, great music if you love Frank, Dean, Sarah Brightman and Andre Bocelli.Oh yea, the food. This is Genoa Townships greatest hidden treasure.Jackson is a very attentive server. He is great! And the entire building is spotlessly clean.******Update**********Second visit, even better than the first.Amber was our server, wow, delicious food, incredible service!
Artas is a not so little jewel tucked in a strip of bldgs that house a dental office, a church. coffee house and a Dr office. lovely restaurant with linen tablecloths and napkins, sparkly clean shiny water glasses, booths and tables just waiting to treat customers to a excellent dining experience. menu is authentic Italian and all sauces and pastas are made on site. our family has enjoyed 4 different meals at Artas and all were excellent quality 5 star meals. Nice variety to choose from on their extensive menu. Our service from Anne was top notch, as one would expect at a fine dining establishment. You wont be disappointed!
Food is ok at best. Desperate remodel was really needed after it took over for the coney. Service was extremely slow. Pricing doesn’t match for quality of experience that we had. Upon reading other reviews seems that owner should make attempts to hire more and better staff. Also based on other comments seems owner should pay staff so help would still be there. Would much rather go to a chain restraunt with same quality food and better service then return to this restaraunt. Only ate there because it is close to hospital where a family member was.
Just tried Artas for the 1st time. The staff was friendly & attentive, the today special soup ( Butternut squash) was excellent, the pasta & chicken was also excellent & the chocolate Gelatto was magnifico. A little pricey for our area but really not more than the 2 other better Italian restaurants within 7 miles. Worth a try, & great for a special occasion lunch or dinner.d.
We dine out frequently at many fine and local restaurants in the Brighton area but the only posivitive note we have is the bread and Clam Cowder was very good. The Zebra Ravioli was bland and the dough was not well cooked. It was barely warm. The Salmon in Parchment Paper was raw which we waited for a long period of time. We sent the salmon back and they brought a new piece that was smaller and still raw. This took another 20 minutes. The owner approached us and said I should have ordered it well done! You would assume when you send it back it would come back done well. He was apologetic but defensive as how it should be cooked. He did offer a free dessert! I feel the owner was more concerned on the exact placement of the dinnerware then of customer satisfaction. The waite staff was friendly but very timid and on the edge. I hope the owner uses his feedback from all customers to improve his business then as criticism.
Weve never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant until we walked in here at 730 on a Saturday night. Im not sure if it was because we also had two small children with us but they made it clear we could not sit and eat.So, we went down the street to LaMarsa. After thinking about how they made us feel and reading more reviews about people being treated the same way, I decided to call and ask if I could make a reservation. Guess what, he took my reservation and then I asked how he could take our reservation but 20min prior we couldnt even sit down and we literally felt forced out the door. He was rude on the phone and in person and its a shame thats who is running your establishment. I wish you luck cause from the looks of the reviews its only a matter of time and that spot will be empty. So sad well never come back!
Special event held there. Food was excellent, service was stellar. Ive always felt you can tell how good a restaurant will be by the quslity of the bread. It held true at this establishment as well. Chicken marsala was fresh and tasty, even though they were preparing and serving 50 or so at the same time. Soup and salad excellent. Tiramiso was superb. Kudos!
A friend and I decided to try Arta’s for a late lunch. We never expected the amazing food we were presented with. Everything is perfect, from service to the presentation, and the food is exceptional. We split a caprese salad and gnocchi that was the best we’d ever had. Can’t recommend this restaurant enough.
It was a very slow night, as there were only 4 other tables that were seated. We waited over 7 minutes for a server to greet us at our table. As we continued to wait, there was another table that was seated and their order was taken immediately. Needless to say we walked out and we will not be coming back.
Sam, the owner, is the rudest boss anyone could have. He criticizes and demeans his employees in front of the paying customers. That is very disrespectful and inappropriate behavior as a business owner. People come in there to relax and enjoy a meal, not to see a show. No wonder he cant keep waitresses to work for him!
Rude rude rude! We unexpectedly decided to drop in well that didn’t go well with the owner who proceeded to roll his eyes, huff and walk away, when we said we didn’t have reservations. I had checked the website to be sure they weren’t reservations only. I will never enter that place again.

2021-12-28Stellar experience. Great food. Plan on spending some time enjoying yourself. It is a slower paced meal because it is made fresh, but that is part of the beauty. Will definitely be back.

2022-06-22Best Italian food and one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had. I cannot believe that I have not visited here sooner. My husband and I had dinner here for our anniversary and it was wonderful. 2022-02-12Ended up here by chance after a reservation at a different restaurant fell through. The service and quality of food was top notch so we had zero regrets. The owner is very attentive in making sure everyone is enjoying their experience. My husband and I both had seafood dishes and you could tell it was fresh and quality seafood. 2022-06-20I have eaten at almost every restaurant in Brighton and Howell and this is the best dining experience Ive had in either city. The wait staff is terrific..the wine selection is fantastic. .but most of all the food is phenomenal. If you want a fine dining experience be sure to treat yourself here.

2022-05-09Took my parents here for mothers day 5/7/22 , Artas did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing along with the service! We had a waitress janice that was over the top and very pleasant to have as a server. The manager Jessica was also absolutely amazing to interact with! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, we cant wait to return!

2021-12-04The food was pretty good, I wouldnt say great, but nothing to complain about taste wise. It took about 2.5 hours from sitting down until we got our food. The 800% markup on some wines was also absurd. The staff was friendly and polite. Atmosphere didnt seem up to par with any other upscale Italian places I have been, especially at the prices they charge. Not an awful experience, but not one Id want to repeat overall.

2022-05-08Arrived at 7:00PM. Drinks took 15 minutes. Ordered dinner at 7:40 because the waitress was not coming over. We kept asking the waitress when our meals would arrive and she would then tell the manager we were frustrated. The manager kept giving excuses and 10 minutes turned into 2 hours. We left at 10, paid our FULL bill with no discounts. None of us have ever waited so long for our meals to arrive, even in countries in Europe where most eat at 10 or later. Don’t waste your time or money. The staff, the owner are liars. So sad, as they had good reviews from friends but have gone downhill. I would give 0 if it was an option. Don’t be fooled by their rating!!!! We were!!

2022-03-30Amazing experience as always! Our own private Italian place! They sadly had to fire a drug addicted employee recently and this person have been leaving comments. I don’t like to share my favorite places because I like that they haven’t been that busy lately, but this is really our favorite place to go to and it hurts us to see someone try to ruin a one of a kind restaurant that we fell in love in.

2022-04-28So very disappointing! We decided to go to Arti’s Italian restaurant for our 48th wedding anniversary. We made reservations for 5:15. We were the first ones there. When arriving we were asked if we had reservations and we said yes. They seemed not to have them. No problem, we were then seated. We were there for two hours! Granted everyone is short staffed so we understood that this can be the case. What we did not understand is why orders were taken first for two other tables when we had been more then ready to order 40 minutes ago.The waitress was very nice but not very aware. She chatted with the other tables constantly and was very abrupt when waiting on us. Not rude but abrupt. It appeared these were regulars in the other booths.Atri walked by us multiple times and never stopped to chat and check how things were going like he did for the other two tables. We definitely won’t be become regulars. Ort bill was $147.00 for the two of us. and the attention to us was not worth spending this amount and not feeling welcome!!
