I’ve got a few things to say abt this place after my latest horrendous experience, I’ll spare some details for space:1) Back in 2001 when I was born my mom received terrible care; nurses visited her very infrequently, refused to give her pain treatment she requested/needed, and bc I was c-section she had to be sewn up again post procedure and she ended up getting a horrible infection that put her on her butt for weeks and caused her to become dangerously sick. Even though I was in perfect health they wouldn’t let her see me for the first 9 and 1/2 hours of my life2) My Gram spent her last days there and on more than one occasion she wasn’t being monitored closely enough; her oxygen levels dropped so low she almost died on THREE separate occasions. She did end up passing there too and took hours before calling us to let us know3) I went there today for obgyn purposes through ER. To be fair it is a Sunday, however I was experiencing symptoms requiring basic testing (ultrasound/consultation/etc). No one was on staff knew what to do; they offered me morphine when my symptoms were cramps/external discomfort(???) and when I refused they gave me cream (that I do not need) and charged us $375 after us having to wait to be seen by nurses usually in 2 hour intervals.***while they may not have realized, the room I was put in was one of the last rooms my Gram ever visited. Beaumont until I die. Screw this place
My wife is in her 70s, seriously ill and disabled. We went to the ER at the direction of her neurologist to evaluate her after a severe fall. We told the front desk and the triage nurse that she was fragile and couldn’t sit in the waiting room in a wheelchair very long. After 2 hours we had to give up and leave so she could find some relief at home. Nobody even blinked an eye when we left. My advice is to only go to the ER if your feeling well enough to sit and wait for several hours. Don’t go there if you’re disabled and weak. You won’t make it.
I was tempted to give a “1” but, in fairness, my experience with the medical personnel (doctors, nurses, etc.) has been positive. I give the “2” rating because of the way we were treated in registration and while waiting in the lab area. The personnel who represent the “public face” of the hospital treated us as “just another number”, offering no discernible empathy for us as customers. My wife and I were there today (12/14) to drop off a sample at the lab, utilizing a container we had picked up there on 12/10. We were told we had to re-register and then told to wait for someone to call us. This was to simply to DROP OFF A SPECIMEN (pretty simple); no one told us how long we were expected to wait or why we had to wait. After waiting 10 minutes, when I asked the woman at the front desk if there was a manager I could talk to, she simply got up and left the room with no “I’ll go look” or “excuse me I’ll be right back.” We ended up leaving and took the specimen to the Beaumont Rochester facility, where we were helped by a professional who actually seemed to care about assisting customers.Nobody wants to be in a hospital waiting room and most people there are experiencing at least some degree of emotional stress due to their or their loved one’s infirmity. The people who handle registration and initially seeing patients should have the people skills to at least feign empathy as well as provide a modicum of communication, not to mention be aware of the stupidity of asking someone to wait to simply drop off a specimen. I had nothing but favorable experiences when the hospital was Crittenton, but the customer experience has dropped dramatically since Ascension took over. Although we live close to Ascension Providence, we’ll be using the Beaumont system from now on.
If I could rate this hospital and DR. BEVERLY HUZSARIK 0 stars I would.Care is horrible and lacking, from the ER Tech, RN to the Doctor.Dr. Huzsarik is the worst Doctor I have encountered in my entire life. Mind you, I work in Anesthesia so I know etiquette and ethics and how patients should be treated. She treated my elderly parents so poorly, she was rude and arrogant. Even telling my father, “ I have very sick patients at the other end of the hall, and I have to keep coming down here to see you”. What kind of medical professional says that to anyone?…..if you value your life, go somewhere else. Please REVOKE her license to practice!
Our mom was put on 5th floor step down unit Post ICU. 5th floor nurse and aid grade is a D. Luckily we had someone from family there all day from 8am -8pm otherwise she would have not survived. We understand that there is a nursing shortage, but when nurses assigned to rooms do not come in for 4+ hours to check on patient there is a deeper issue. There were a couple good nurses, but overall the care on that floor was extremely poor. Friends and relatives all commented on how sporadically she was checked on. She was on 5th floor for 2 weeks and was not given a sponge bath or tooth brushing. After we discovered dried poop on her body because her diaper hadnt been changed for 14 hours we started changing and cleaning her ourselves. This happened during week and on weekends when the staff was a skeleton crew. Will not go back.
What a joke. I bring my son to the ER for hitting his head and they literally did nothing but charge me 175$. They had me sit in a room and wait for an hour to make sure he was ok. They didnt even clean his cut on his head. No one asked him any questions (he can talk) like if anything hurt… I only saw a nurse, never a doctor, and they waited until ten minutes before we left to bring us some juice and tylenol. The desk receptionist in the ER was super rude too. What a waste of time. Don’t go here.
Our 9 year old broke her arm and was tolerable of the pain. We thought they might have to set it back in place so we were talked into giving her an IV with morphine. Nothing was required but a splint but they strongly urged more morphine to wrap it. They said it was almost nothing but it messed her up really bad for hours afterward. They then prescribed her hydrocodone!? She luckily hasnt needed anything but Tylenol. Really disappointed as a parent I let doctors drug our 9 year old into oblivion then give her more opioids like its candy? Other than that the actual care seemed ok. Just concerning, what if that was a teenager? That would of likely created another addict.
This hospital is a liability just to be open. Do not trust a single medical professional here. The last positive experience I had here was pre Ascension takeover. What a disgusting world we live in... when a company is more concerned with profits from a hospital than actual medical care. All the doctors who became one for the money instead of helping those in need must work here. Greedy. Unethical. Shameful.
Like everyone else I had a horrible experience with their ER room. I waited and waited and after 2.5 hours they told me I was not a priority so I left! I guess I was not a priority. I was there with a serious deep cut in my finger that would not stop bleeding and on blood thinners. I now have some nerve damage because they said I was not a priority. Ascension Health needs to really investigate all of these horrible reviews and fix this PR problem.
Obviously the reviews already tell the story but this hospital is the WORST! I thought maybe it would change after Ascension took over but no such luck. My daughter came into the ER, sat in triage for 6 hours essentially ignored the entire time. The triage is right next to the area where the staff congregate. They sat and gossiped, cursed and were just plain rude, as my 14 year old daughter was 10 feet away. The bill comes and its $6000. This place is horrible, go to Beaumont. NEVER again Crittendon...er...I mean Ascension.
Rudest staff I have ever encountered, especially at a hospital. Talked to THREE different rude staff members within 10 minutes of walking in the front door and they all had terrible attitudes for no reason. The older white hair/blonde lady at the surgical reception desk was so rude and disrespectful to my brother and I. If you work at a hospital you should at least have some compassion but I guess not some of the staff here.
BEWARE! I had my gallbladder removed and during the process, Dr. Keith A. Hinshaw dumped bile and didnt get it all cleaned out. I went septic, in a coma for five days and was transferred to University of Michigan Hospital where they found it and had a drain tube in place within hours of my arrival. Had organ failure, was in the hospital for four weeks, had to teach my muscles to work again and have permanent heart damage. I went into the hospital with no heart problem and I now take 13 bills a day and had to have an internal defibrillator implanted. He avoided contact with any of my family and thankfully the ICU DOCTOR AT (WILL BE FOREVER REFERRED TO AS THE HOSPITAL THAT TRIED TO KILL ME!!!) ASCENSION ROCHESTER HOSPITAL told my parents get her out of here; they are in over their heads. Thank God my family listened, thank God for U of M Hospital. If you like your life and like the way you live, don’t chance it with Dr. Hinshaw, my whole like has changed and not for the better!
My spine surgeon sent me for a ct lumbar mazor robot protocal scan and a day before my l5s1 fusion surgery I received a call from my surgeons office, saying ascension rochester had done the wrong ct scan and that I had to drive to southfield for an emergency ct scan pre surgery. How can this happen? The technician obviously has the order from my surgeon right? Just tetrible@!
Ive used Ascension Providence in Rochester Hills for all my medical issues for 20+ years. My family also uses Ascension. Weve had major surgery for heart issues, cancer, and back and joint repair. I currently use their cardiac rehab center. We are very happy with all of their services! Bruce
My father received excellent care at this hospital when he was admitted for a diabetic related foot infection. The doctors and nurses that cared for him were warm and knowledgeable and put his concerns at ease. He is now recovered and doing very well thanks to the care he received that weekend at APR. I was very amazed everything!the hospital is so comfortable and clean .the doctors are so professional and the staff of nursing are so helpful whenever you call the nursing station ,they respond immediately .i highly recommend this hospital.
My 88-year-old father was scheduled for surgery, for the second time, and it was canceled again. He has a urostomy and two hernias one of which is impeding the flow of urine into his ostomy bag. He already had the Covid test and a urine culture before the surgery was canceled AGAIN.I could rant for another hour. I am very unhappy. It is my understanding that Ascention forced any employee that have not had a Covid vaccine to quit. They went from having enough staff for 12 operating rooms to 5. These employees were the heroes last year. Shame on the management that did this to our community.
Had 2 surgies nurses intevive care great kidney surgey and vascular messed up vascular night was suposta go first floor was on 8th.floor covid people got me out 4 hrs.later then never got food and pain was controlled but they gave morfin but kidney I was screaming in pain
There registration process is a nightmare. Every time they ask the date you went on Medicare and other ridiculous questions even though you answered them four times within the last two weeks. Has anyone ever had there date they went on Medicare change? There record keeping is archaic. Had three nuclear scans done in just over a week. Each time checking in at radiology they have to look up your records even though you have an appointment. Had to wait over thirty five minutes one time and few days later 25 minutes to check in? They have no paperwork printed ahead of time even though your appointment is in there system.SO inefficient and a waste of peoples time.I dont know how to get to the form the hospital reply sent.
Surgery Check-in person at Ascension Hospital in Rochester is extremely unprofessional and rude. She can’t answer any questions and the way she treats people who dare to ask something is simply ridiculous. Worst service I ever had! Exactly the opposite from any Beaumont Hospital in the area.
Absolute gross incompetence I wouldn’t trust them with a urine test let alone a blood test. They don’t care about your health they only want your money. They are not in the business of actually helping people they don’t actually care about your health they don’t know what they are doing and fail to reach the NEEDS of peoples health even when it could be life threatening. Please for the love of god learn to do better and hire people that actually care about their patients. If I could give negative stars I would.
I went to get an ultrasound and blood work, and I had a great experience! My ultrasound tech was sweet and friendly, and when her machine crashed she immediately relocated me and completed my procedure with time to spare. The lab tech who did my blood work was also very friendly and was a pro getting my stubborn veins to cooperate! I’m glad to know this hospital is nearby if there’s an emergency, and I’d have no hesitation going back for future appointments.
Waited nearly two hours for the doctor to come back after I was put in an emergency room. When I was discharged I was told I had pneumonia and covid but wasnt given a copy of my positive covid test nor any prescriptions of any kind nor a letter stating when I could return to work. Just an educational sheet with faqs on it. I had to spend the next couple days trying to get all the documentation I needed and asking other medical professionals what I should do to help myself.
The older nurses care more than the doctors. We were disrespected and downgraded and treated by their assumptions. The nurse had to go back out and confront the doctors about even putting an IV in and getting some blood work. Please, if you’re looking for answers don’t go here you will waste your time and money. It blows my mind how these people can call theirselves doctors, not a care in the world about actually helping people… it’s all for the money. The fact my husband was just recently diagnosed with hypoglycemia not a single person even wanted to check his blood sugar! I’m at a complete loss for words, this is your warning STAY AWAY!!!!!!
My boss was taken to Crittenden after having a bicycle accident. The ER cleaned his wounds and sent him home. The next day he was rushed to Beaumont, who found after an CT scan he had a large hematoma and was rushed into surgery. If I didnt take my boss to a doctor, he would have died, since he was going on a long plane ride to Brazil the next day. You can see by the cut and paste responses by the hospital, they have no clue about what acceptable health care and customer service is all about. They fail to understand patients are in fact customers, and when treatment falls below expectations, there are other choices. Avoid this hospital. In January 2022 i had a two day stay in the surgical ward. While the nurses were very professional, the inhouse pharmacy was very inflexible, and provided meds i was already taking on their schedule. They were more concerned about leaving at 5 pm, then filling necessary prescriptions. They are so short staffed, required after surgery exercises were not performed, even though it was the surgeons instructions. The surgical registration needs revamping. The system they use is confusing and the registration staff in the office was rude and disrespectful. If it wasnt the fact this was the closest hospital associated with my surgeon, i would have gone to beaumont troy. Based on the low rating, the owner needs to take consumer ratings seriously, and make changes, and not give any more cut and paste excuses.
I was visiting Detroit and fell sick. Let me just say from the time I walked into this place I was impressed. The young who registered me in the ER was very helpful and kind. The Nurse who triage me made me feel at ease. The nurse who took care of me had GREAT bed side manners. The provider was nice and through. My overall experience was Great!!
This hospital is a joke. The doctors are jokes. The nursing staff is so incredibly rude and not compassionate whatsoever. Each doctor and nurse we spoke to gave us conflicting information every time we asked for an update. They were never on the same page and never looked at the notes. I’ve never seen a more incompetent hospital in my life. Do not send your loved ones here. Ever. You will thank me later.
I recently had a fall and was admitted to Ascension providence Rochester hospital via EMS. My nurse was Andrea Obrien. She was the best nurse I have had during this admission . Love her compassion to each & every one of her patients. Complaints were handled in a timely manner . When she had gone for lunch break another RN took over . She was great too , unfortunately don’t remember her name .
Had the best service. Doctor David Bauer, traveling nurse Gabriel and I forgot the last nurses name. Also the xray and ultrasound techs. They very caring, courteous and explained everything. They did seem to be short handed. But, they did their job, no one was complaining, they had a smile on their face, they apologized that it was taking too long to get back. Which is understandable. Thank you for your service today and God bless.
Dont Ever go here if you get sick. They wont give you a response from a simple COVID-19 test. You have to go through hoops to get nowhere. After getting the run around for 40 minutes, Theyve given me a number that I confirmed for medical records. Its a homeowner association!!! How incompetent?! But youll receive bill, that they will send. Never again!
My husband was transferred from Ascension Genesys in April 2021 to the Covid unit at Ascension Rochester due to Genesys being full. I’m so thankful he was. As a retired nurse from Genesys, his care for the family at Rochester was above & beyond. We have two specific nurses to thank for this. Cathy H. & Mike. Cathy would FaceTime me almost daily so I could visit with my husband, even when he wasn’t her patient. He was too weak & short of breath to do this on his own. She continued to do this even after he was intubated so he could hear my voice. When Mike was his nurse, I would receive updates via a phone call. Sometimes several times a day. As a nurse myself, I realize how every minute of your day caring for others is consumed. These two were my husbands only connection to his family and ours to him. We feel truly blessed that these nurses were my husbands caregivers. Cathy was by my side when we had to let him go. She was not his nurse that day, which is amazing in itself. You don’t have to look hard for their wings. Thank you Cathy & Mike. The St Marie family will never forget how amazing you two are.
Ann at North registration is the best. I called in to get an X-Ray, Maria answered my call and requested me to come in through the main entrance. Upon reaching the main entrance I was told I will have to re-register. I told the person at the desk that I have already registered. (I was at the hospital a day before, did the registration). Ann, too confirmed that registration is not required (tomorrow) as we did it already. He doesnt listen he says I have to re-register.The problem is theres no proper communication between each team.Front desk agent says I now have to go to the emergency entrance. If I was supposed to go through emergency entrance why was I told to enter through main entrance over the phone? He also claims he too speaks with Maria and we need to enter through emergency entrance.Im not trying to be hard on any individual here. All am trying to convey is to have a process in place so that what ever communicated is correct and it wont make the patient drive between main and emergency entrances. No wonder this facility has 2.6 star rating.
The one and only issue I had was with the ER doctor that I am paying and arm leg for he stood in the hall to tell me what they were going to do that my PCP gave instruction for. If this only happened once I would not complain but the particular DR. Had done the same thing before he walks around the hall with his hands in his pocket
DO NOT EVER SEND ANYONE HERE THEY ARE ALL MISERABLE TERRIBLE PEOPLEI came here on 9/11/21 at 6:44AM in fear my Stomach Ulcer had bust and if not in request for proper medications for the pain til I can go to a GI monday. The doctor walked to my room didn’t even step in and said “we don’t do ANYTHING for ulcers you’re going home” after that night I was throwing up blood and for 6 days prior I haven’t been able to eat or drink I’ve had to go to ERs to get fluids for hydration. DO NOT EVER SEND ANYONE HERE THEY ARE ALL MISERABLE TERRIBLE PEOPLE
I couldn’t be happier with the experience I had today. From the security guard, receptionist, registration, and physician, everyone was friendly and helpful. I was taken right into a room after coming in with severe pain from abscessed tooth. My pain has now subsided tremendously. I went to another local ER a few weeks ago, I didn’t have the same positive experience. Great job!! You are all doing a wonderful job.
I wouldn’t recommend this hospital at all. The way that the staff treated me here was completely unacceptable. I had to come in because me leg was swollen and to make sure I didn’t have a DVT. The only reason I came here because all the urgent care around me were closed. The doctor only looked at me for 2 seconds and told me to be put on blood thinners and to do a ultrasound tomorrow without even checking my injury. Mind you when you have a possible dvt it’s a clot so it can travel from your leg to lungs therefore it shouldn’t be waited to do a ultrasound. The reason why they couldn’t do it then and there was because someone wasn’t on staff to do so. I don’t think that is safe it honestly is a hazard. Whenever someone could have a possible cardiovascular problem There ABSOULTELY needs to be a staff that can do ultrasound. When I came back in 8am today the front receptionist told me I needed a appointment to do a ultrasound and they couldn’t admit me in. Once again that is a health hazard for someone who may have a possible DVT. After passing me to another receptionist who deals the diagnostics tests she was completely rude to me. I gave her all the paper work that the doctor gave me and she said “you didn’t give me anything.” She kept muttering under her breath how Sunday is suppose to be a dilemma free day. And she aggressively said to me to sign the papers. After calling ultrasound and no one answered she told me “you’re just gonna have to see if they can do it I can’t promise anything” despite having it on the discharge papers that my ultrasound needed to be done today. When I got to Doppler ultrasound I ended up crying in front of the lady and she was the only staff who was respectful to me, cared about my well-being, and wanted to treat me without being rude to me. If it wasn’t for her I don’t think any stars would have been given. I am completely disappointed with the staff here. When you sign up to be a medical professional it is your responsibility to want to help other with compassion, love, and kindness. And yet I barely got that here under this hospital’s medical care. I woudn’t recommend this hospital to anyone and I will not be returning as well
What else can I say that hasn’t already been said about this poorly ran hospital, its staff and services? I only went here as it was the closest to where I was at the time of the emergency figuring they must be a good hospital, they’re in Rochester! In the future, I would rather endure a longer ride to Troy Beaumont.Wish I would have read the reviews first, would never have gone here. This hospital’s poor reviews are accurate from my experience with them.Over $5,000 in out of pocket expenses in less than five hours for them to send me home without knowing what was wrong. Followed up with my primary care doctor the next day and for a $100 dollar ultrasound, was able to find out immediately what was wrong that Ascension couldn’t find out in five hours with the most expensive testing and equipment available to them.Hospital staff were un-attentive, and the ER was a ghost town void of hospital staff to attend to patient needs.Ascension Michigan Community Manager, no need to share this feedback with leadership, or recommend that I reach out to talk. Leadership already knows, we’ve already talked. I hope this review deters other from having the same poor care and financial hardship that I endured from your facility.
On 10-30-20, I was a walk in within the Emergency department with severe kidney stone issues. As to be expected, they were extremely busy, but my nurse, doctor, transportation and a field nurse that had been called in to help due to heavy workload were all amazing. Their bedside manner was wonderful and I truly appreciated that, being that I hate being in hospitals. I wish I could share their names, but I wasnt in any condition to catch them. The only negative thing was long wait for treatment, but it was to be expected with the high volume of emergencies going on.
Very bad er experience. Waiting over 10 hours on a hard uncomfortable chair for update on my minor child. Not one time did any nurse or staff come and give update, test results etc. Finally after about 9 hours asked for update but the nurses/staff were so incredibly rude it wasn’t worth trying to engage in any communication. I was abruptly dismissed and it was not busy at all so no excuse for their behavior.
My father received excellent care at this hospital when he was admitted for a diabetic related foot infection. The doctors and nurses that cared for him were warm and knowledgeable and put his concerns at ease. He is now recovered and doing very well thanks to the care he received that weekend at APR. I was very impressed everything!
I have been coming to Ascension since I was born. I recently moved into the area and was excited to see that there was an Ascension hospital right down the road. I brought in lab orders to have blood work done and come to find out - they are not associated with other Ascension’s in Michigan in regards to the Patient Portal. I reluctantly proceed on with my lab work thinking it won’t be a big deal...here I am 5 days later STILL trying to get a hold of someone to set up my patient portal to view my lab results. No one answers the phone, and when someone does, they don’t know how to assist me and transfer me around to numbers that don’t respond. This has turned into such a big ordeal - had I just drove to an in network Ascension hospital I would have had access to all of my results days ago.
Where do I begin? We’ve been in and out of this hospital but nothing was quite like the experience we recently had. The nurses in the ER are nearly always great and very prompt. They always get us in so soon which makes this a great place however this visit we had a pharmacy intern come speak to us. Without giving the details of our conversation I just want to say I’ve never had someone so engaged and caring. She sat down and make every family member feel comfortable and heard during this process. The remarkable part was she came in on her day off on the following day after working with the physician and printed out a new medication list for us that was color coated and easy for my loved one to adhere to. This hospital is the best due to staff like this that goes above and beyond. Thank you to her forMaking us feel heard and cared about! This is what every hospital needs and this is what crittenton has
Lever go to this hospital. I never get sick. But I had to go get back surgery. Ended up with a pace maker and back surgery. The service was horrible. I ended up staying almost ten days. Out of those days not nor time could I get anyone to clean me up. My sheets were never changed even though I requested help. Due to hospital restrictions I sad unable to do anything for my self. Request were ignored. There was nocommunication with me as a patient. Staff purposely made them selves unavailable. They could careless about pain management. I was told if I needed my medication I had to ask for it one and half hours before because the stage was to busy to keep up with my needs. So many negative things happened at this hospital I will never return after I complete my follow ups. If I could find another set of doctors I would and if i knew how to report this hospital I would. Find another hospital. Dont trust them to care for anyone I love
I had surgery there this last Monday and after reading these reviews I was a little nervous, but everyone was absolutely wonderful! I had to stay the night after surgery and every single nurse I had (Marie, Maria, Becky, Angela, Steve and Trevor) was truly the best I’ve ever had, and with my medical past I have had quite a few. Everyone was so professional, so respectful and caring. I would recommend this hospital to everyone!
I went for mammogram today and was given a gown and told to leave the opening in the front. When I put it on it was so small it wouldn’t come close to closing leaving me fully exposed - thankfully I wore a jacket today! I had to put my jacket on backwards to cover myself up. They should have mammogram gowns that wrap with ties and cover women completely. No one should have to feel the way I felt today - i was completely humiliated. I will never return to Ascension Hospital Rochester for imaging and will be sure to share my experience with my doctor, doctors receptionist, friends and family so they choose another location as well.
I took my husband this past Monday there due to consistant chest pain for 2 days!! They took him in within seconds he was admitted and within 10 minutes his blood was drawn, EKG was taken, Xray was done in his bed and we got an idea within 1 hour he was ok!!! Unreal!!!! Was scheduled for stress test the next day! And same thing very helpful and caring ❤❤ So happy we went to this hospital. This Is the 2nd time we had such great experience with them 1st time when he had his hip replacement surgery last June!! In general the care from the urgent care all the way to the nurses the assistance the PA every single one of these people are close enough to be called angels they were amazing I am so glad I came here my husband is OK he was treated and he was safe praise God for people like that and hospitals like that you wont be sorry going there trust me❤❤
I went through ER on 8/21 will lower abdominal pain. Right when the “doctor” walked in she had a horrible attitude. This doctor told me that I was going to DIE because I made a choice to come here instead of another hospital in Pontiac. Please keep in mind that this place was the closest ER to me! She told me that it was going to take her 12hrs to 24 hrs to get my medical rec and because of that I could possibly die! I told her that I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy which I was treated for with medication but obviously it didn’t help that’s why I ended back in the ER with excruciating pain. I asked this doctor that if she didn’t want to treat me I could leave and her response was, well your already here but I don’t understand why you came here and not your hospital! She also said she was going to order an ultrasound but had to call in a tech because they were all home!I was disgusted by the why this doctor talk to me! I told my husband I wanted to leave and he then drove me to “my hospital” where I ended up getting emergency surgery! I am not the type of person who writes reviews, I tend to let a lot of things go but I felt something has to be done! No one should be treated the way I was treated! I’m not sure why she was so upset with the fact I was there, is it because my husband and I are husband Hispanic? I try not to think that kind of stuff but I know for a fact that I was not treated how I was suppose to be treated!
My wife gave birth here on Sunday. Some of the doctors and nurses have been wonderful, especially Nurse Liz and Mallory, but having constant rotating doctors means she never sees the same doctor twice and none of them know who my wife is or can handle her care. The doctor this morning is ignoring my wife and the nurses. She had a c-section 2 days ago and it’s standard practice to keep a patient for 3 days. They are still learning how to manage her pain but the doctor this morning insists on discharging her right now even though all the other doctors and nurses disagree.
I gave birth to my daughter here back in May. I just want to say that this hospital and the birthing center is AMAZING!!!! They are a smaller hospital which I really liked. I have had my son at Beaumont Hospital 2 years ago and it was a horrible experience. I felt like I was just a number there and I wasnt able to recover from birth. This hospital and the Nursing staff (and Doctors) were so friendly at Crittenton. Dr. Perry, Nurses, Anesthesiologist did a fantastic job with my C-Section. I dont think I can praise them enough. They put me at ease through the entire procedure. The staff really got to know my family and were so hospitable. They spent time listening to me and my needs. My daughter was in the nursery and the Nurses/Doctors in their took such good care of her. Side note: I know that they haven taken away the nurseries but they should bring them back. At Beaumont I had no nursery and was recovering from a C-Section and I felt like a Zombie taking care of my son (I dont think a sleep deprived person should handle newborns or the sleep deprived support person). At Crittenton my daughter was in the nursery and I felt amazing when I left that hospital. They did tell me that if my daughter wasnt in the nursery and I was sleep deprived that they would take her so I could rest which I thought was very nice (Beaumont said they wouldnt),. I think because this is a smaller hospital that the Nurses and Doctors are actually able to really tend to each patient and make them feel comfortable. Every time I went in the birthing center (preterm labor etc) I felt so at ease with the staff. I was actually able to recover my surgery and get some rest before being sent home. If I have another baby, I will be coming back here. Food was good too!I do think the ER needs to be revamped (better staff).
DO NOT GO HERE. Had Lab work done, and was never sent to my doctors office. Spoke to DEBBIE in labs, and she was extremely RUDE!!And refused to send then over to my doctor. Saying the DOCTOR has to call and request them. If your office made the mistake and never sent them in the first place, AND my doctor is requesting I call an have them faxed to his office....whats the problem????!My doctor says this hospital is notorious for things like this. Next time Im going to Beaumont!
I was rushed to the ER due to food lodged in my esophagus, therefore choking me. The nurse Jonathan was truly comforting as he set up my IV, etc.. Our conversation helped keep me calm. The surgeon quickly assessed the situation and performed surgery to get the obstruction out. All personnel were extremely nice, respectful and efficient! Thank you!!
I’m a cancer patient in reoccurrence of ovarian cancer. I’ve been to this hospital several times in the past 7 months for different testing. From the minute I stepped in the door I was treated like I mattered, from the reception, to the nurses taking temps and handing out mask (we were in the midst of Covid) administrations was fabulous, the techs in the ct lab were wonderful, the ladies doing blood draws were friendly and compassionate, the ekg tech was extremely friendly.... my wait times for all theses tests were less then 10 minutes every time I went!I had surgery this past week and although any kind of Surgery is scary, this was a most pleasant experience! Everyone from start to finish made me feel very special, from the greeter taking temps at the door to the cleaning staff and everyone in between! The hospital is well kept and very clean. I’m so grateful, that my dr, Dr. Pugmire is affiliated with Ascensions! THANK YOU EVERYONE, FOR ALL YOU DO!!
Since Crittenton wants to block my previous review Ill skip all the fancy wording this time... they put tests into your personal medical record with specific values that they never even gave to you. Not only did this happen once - but twice! Upon it being brought to their attention they attempted to cover it up. I highly recommend everyone complain to the join commissioner to get this hospital shut down or at least changed in ownership. Horrible hospital, treatment and staff - from drs to administrative. If you value your life and medical care - do not step foot in this hospital.
I have taken my children to Beaumont or childrens hospital for care and received the best with the expected bill and paid it. I took my son in the middle of winter to Crittenden because of the proximity to our home. It was TERRIBLE!! I tried to keep an open mind though NO one seemed to be there. Finally when someone came to the front desk we kind of put ourselves into a room. My son was swabbed and did have the flu. While they did give him a breathing treatment- He was MUCH better when we arrived and could tolerate it. We were barely seen by the physician though it was fine with me given the fact the other two people there were elderly. We waived the Tamiflu and basically showed ourselves out. Fine. However, when I received the bill I was Floored. SO MUCH HIGHER than both Beaumont and childrens- none of the care in shabby old hospital. I was so irate- I challenged both but what doctor is going to admit they coded it incorrectly. Also the physicians work independently of the hospital so the hospital cant answer any questions. The billing service had an answering machine come on one day!!! The hospital and physician charged 1300+ each for our 2 hour visit. I will NEVER EVER visit this hospital again. It was clearly a second rate hospital and does not deal with patients professionally.
My nurse was condescending and rude. The doctor (Dr Smith) didnt even take the time to answer all my questions and he also didnt listen to me about what medication I can and cannot take. As a brain hemorrhage survivor, my options to medication are limited. Ive been dealing with that for 13 years and I know what I can and cant have. But my doctor apparently doesnt care. They both walked out of my room over 30 minutes ago and never came back. Im in pain, cant move and just wanna go home since they plan on doing nothing!Only reason I will give One Star is because my xray tech (radiologist tech) was such a delight! Very sweet and patient with me while I was writhing in pain. She was amazing. She has medium-long dark hair, Jessica I believe her name was! She was amazing and the only good part of my morning here! Thank you Jessica.
Terrible. Went to hospital ER to be seen, was not asked for my ID or health insurance. The lady at the desk just asked for my name and DOB and gave me a bracelet and waited for over 2.5 hours before I left. No here can you fill out paperwork while you wait, or nothing. I told the lady what was wrong with me and there seemed no urgency. I had to use the restroom and the sign says please see front desk in case a urine sample is needed. Being a women no matter if I am pregnant or not pregnant a urine sample is always needed for a medical professional to make sure that you arent pregnant. So I waited in line at the desk while she talked with another nurse and they were giggling about some thing that wasnt work related. after 5 mins or so of waiting for them as they continued to stop and ignoring me I stormed into the restroom and didnt care about giving a urine sample even though I know they needed one because I was female. After waiting for 2.5 hours I ripped my bracelet off and went home without being seen or spoken to by any medical professional or employee. Never have I ever liked this hospital. I would rather die trying to get to a Beaumont hospital then visit their facilities ever again as I would probably die there if it was urgent.
One of the worst experiences I have had at a hospital. Brought my niece in there by ambulance due to her being found unconscious in the bathroom on the floor. When we got there the nurse who took her into the room was very rude. My niece was in and out of conscious and was unable to answer most questions the nurse seemed frustrated. We waited 45 minutes to see a doctor. They didn’t hook up her IV fluids per the doctors request right away. She forgot and left the bag on the counter for almost 2 hours. She had an ultrasound performed, blood taken, and other stuff done before they even realized that they had the wrong birthdate on her. Made registration come back in before she would do anything else. Told my niece that she had to leave a urine sample in order to get a CT scan of her head. I then mentioned that maybe if she hung her fluids up that she would probably be able to go. At that point the nurse realized she forgot. Once my niece had to go to the bathroom we rang the call light. The. We told the nurse that she had to go to the bathroom she looked at her and said the bathroom is to the left go head and go and leave me a sample. She then said do you want some socks? I replied she might need some non slip ones so she doesn’t fall. She grabbed the socks out and threw them on the bed. She didn’t offer to help her out then on or help her walk to the bathroom. She was there for a fall where she was found unconscious and could barely stand. I ended up putting her socks on, walking her to the bathroom and got the urine sample. The rest of the family showed up and the nurse came over and said on a very rude way “only 2 people allowed at a time you guys need to leave”. 20 minutes after someone came in and picked up the urine sample someone else came in and told my niece that they still needed a urine sample so she can get the CT scan done. She told them she already gave one and that someone picked it up. That person was upset and said she needed to go find it. They finally tracked it down and cane to get her for the scan of her head (2 1/2 hours after we get there). To top off this HORRIBLE visit another nurse (4th one this time) comes and says I am here to discharge you. We look at each other and say we haven’t even seen the doctor or know why is going on. She replies “let me get you dressed and discharged and if he isn’t with another patient I will see if he can stop in”. I told her that we want to see him and won’t leave until then. 15 minutes later someone rips open the curtain (my niece is naked at this time) and I yell she is naked and he proceeds to keep going. He says she looks fine follow up with your doctor. I am a RN myself and my cousin who is a Nurse Practitioner was there the whole time and couldn’t believe how horrible the care was. I would be embarrassed by the way your staff represents your hospital. You should really look into more training and maybe hiring people that are capable of performing their job. I would never recommend anybody to your hospital. I have read some of your other reviews that state the same problems. You might want to reevaluate what your doing.
I just gave birth here to my son December 21st, 2018. Great experience all around. The nurses were very nice and helpful. I wanted a natural birth and they were very eager to do what they could to help with that. This meant inserting a hep lock rather than an IV, allowing me to roam the halls while in early labor and wait for my leaking water to break completely.Anytime we called for someone they were always prompt. The setting is nice, rooms are good, and because it’s smaller you get what you need and aren’t left waiting around. My last birth was horrific at Henry Ford Macomb and this was much much more what I envisioned for my birth thanks to the nurses and doctor. Would definitely go here again for birth and would recommend to anyone.
I had a good experience with my surgery on August 19th. The only problem I had was my pain medication wasnt straightened out in time for me to get it without being in pain. Make sure they have your medication straight when you get there. The food is terrible LOL like most hospitals.
Nursing staff and surgeons are awesome, but this hospital has CLEARLY trained the doctors and social workers to simply shunt patient issues from department to department, so that someone ELSE has to answer the questions or deal with the issues patients or their POAs have with care. I just spent an hour this morning trying to locate an outpatient infusion center for cancer treatment, something the patients doctor (an oncologist, to boot!) said that Ascension didnt have!! Heads-up, Ascension, that this is mismanagement of care.
I had a great experience with all medical personnel especially with my nurse, Andrew, and my PA Mathew. My condition, involved a side affect I had from a medication I took, and my condition was a bit unusual. Throughout my visit, I was treated with the upmost dignity and respect. Please insure that this message is passed along to.noth.of them. Mary Racette.
I hate to give such a bad review since my care and medical team was absolutely amazing when I gave birth to my daughter but the billing department RUINED it! I have made payments then told they were never made then had to argue showing my statements. I have spent multiple hours on the phone with their hospital billing department and their physician billing department. This needs to be addressed ASAP.As I stated this review is NOT a reflection of the medical treatment I received but everything that comes after.
My daughter went through ER today. They took her right in and when they decided she needed to be admitted it was crazy fast! Within 5 minutes transport came to take her to a room. The care from the nurses, doctors, lab, everyone has been fantastic. So refreshing to have all her medical needs being met.
I saw a lot of negative reviews here anout the hospital, I think those very just some very unfortunate incidences. I went here yesterday for my foot surgery and the hospital staff from billing to OT are all great!!! Great nurses! I dont remember everyones nsme but Monica from recovery room, She is so so sweet!! The nurses who helped me board and the Anastasia doctor everyone was great. If you are worried abt billing, the right thing to do is call billing beforehand and they are very helpful in giving you an estimate. This helps a lot later! Hope this review helps build the reputation...Really, the hospital is really good!
On an average my wife usually makes a trip to the E.R. at lest once a month because of her chronic condition. Most of the time we go to Crittenton ER, the experience at this hospital for the most part has been poor. But!!, we had an amazing experience with the ER Nurse Sarah! Most of the time the Drs and Nurse Staff seems a bit shut off, with poor bedside manor, but Sarah was attentive, patient, kind, and super sweet! She made this visit bearable and overall a positive experience. We wish that all of the E.R. Drs and Nurses could have this attitude and overall care for their patents. the Drs and Nurses could learn from her, she should be in charge of a nurse care training or class!! Thank You Sarah for your kindness! I would give the Hospital ER itself - 1 star, The Hospital - 4 stars, and Sarah - 10 Stars!!!!!!
My mom was take by ambulance to ER at 10am. They ran tests and said to wait. We all waited and waited and waited. All day long I went to desk asked for updates or info and if she could please have a drink. I understand tests take awhile and the reasons for not allowing the patient a drink until some things are determined. Finally, at 5pm, a doctor appeared and said she was severely dehydrated and would be admitted. Took way too long.
Terrible experience, probably the worse hospital experience I have ever had. My elderly neighbor woke up with dangerously high blood pressure and almost fainted so my mother and I took her to Ascension Providence. It was awful! The doctors were rude and incompetent, the nurses were rude and not helpful at all! All they did was take her blood pressure, keep her in the ER for hours without anyone helping her or answer her questions. They ended up discharging her while she still had dangerously high blood pressure with the advice if she FAINTS to come back in! Should have gone to Beaumont.
I delivered my first born at this hospital, all in with a shot gun wedding 17 years ago. This hospital and its staff were amazing and took such good care of me. Today I went in for reconstructive acl and meniscus surgery with Dr. Keller and again I received outstanding care from everyone I came in contact with. From the bottom of my heart I cant thank you enough! You are an asset to our community.
Today was my first time at this hospital and it will be my last. I went to the ER because I thought I was having another ectopic pregnancy. The nursing staff look at me like I was crazy and started questioning me without putting me in a room first. Then after having to explain myself I was put in a room. The female doctor who came in was loud and rude. I was their with my child and boyfriend and she yelled out all my ultrasound results and blood work. She and the discharge nurse told me on several occasions that I needed to follow up with the clinic that had saw me a few days ago. I am very displeased with the service here and I really hope they change there staff members who are companionate and nice.
Avoid this hospital at all costs! I took my 2 year old son here at 3am for a 105 degree fever. A month later after receiving the bill, was charged $1300 without any help from insurance. When I called insurance to find out why the claim was denied, they said because the doctor put the diagnosis code as an ear infection, which is not considered an emergency. Called customer service and was told there is nothing that can be done, the diagnosis is correct. Where I come from, a 2 year old with a 105 fever is considered an emergency. I dont know many people who would take their 2 year old to the emergency room with just an ear infection. On top of that, the care was just mediocre at best. This hospital is just out to rip you off. Find somewhere else if you have a choice.
Unbelievable staff. From the minute I got here, an amazing nurse in the ER (her name began with R) went above and beyond to make me comfortable in my severe pain. She gave me constant updates. I was admitted for the first time in my life and Sarah the RN on 6th floor was on top of everything and took the time to explain each medication. The whole team here has been amazing and I am so thankful I came here!
Change has not been a good thing. I worked at this hospital for over 20 years when it was Crittenton and my family and myself also went there when we needed a hospital or outpatient testing. I can not believe how far it has fallen since becoming Ascension. A relative was recently a patient, and Nurse to patient ratio seems reduced and quality of patient care has declined. Everywhere I looked I saw what appeared to be cost rather than patient care driven changes One change I saw was definitely Not for patient benefit. When people are ill they often don’t feel like eating much, especially if they have no choices and don’t like the food given to them. And nutrition is important in the healing process. We were told that a few months ago Ascension implemented a new food service in all of it’s hospitals where patients have absolutely no choice in the food they are given. Everyone gets the same meal with modifications only for medically ordered diets such as cardiac diet. But the patient has no control at all! This is a giant step backward. When my mother-in-law started working in hospitals as a student nurse in 1952 she says patents made out simple menus which had two choices for main entree, vegetable, drink etc. That was nearly 70 years ago and patients had a choice. I myself have never seen anything like this in my career. From now on my family and I will be going to Beaumont or St.Joseph Mercy in Pontiac. Oh and before you say patients can call the diet office for problems, we tried that and were told they had nothing else to offer!
Moved to the area 3 years ago. I felt like I had to come to this hospital because it was the closest. Each time surprisingly a negative poor experience. There doesn’t seem to be any leadership in this location, employees seem to act, say, and do as they like, as if it were their business, and they treat the patients as if they are a burden or nuisance. In plain English, this is a FACILITY. No customer service, no leadership. Surprised to see this in Rochester, Mi.Please take a moment to drive to another hospital if your able.
Im so glad I didn read the reviews before having a procedure done at this hospital!I did not choose the hospital. My surgeon chose it. I was running late because of construction on Rochester Rd and called to let the outpatient surgery department know I was on my way. My husband dropped me off at the Surgery Center Entrance. The registration counter was easy to find. I was checked in by a pleasant and efficient individual who walked me back to the nurse who would help me to get ready. Another nurse joined her and started my IV which didnt even leave a bruise. The anesthesiologist came in and told me what he planned to do. My surgeon came in about 5 minutes before the scheduled surgery time, talked to my husband and me about the procedure. Two nurses who would be in the operating room with me came in and helped me to the operating room. I forgot to mention that one of the or nurses had already seen me to double check pertinent information and introduce herself. They started the anaesthetic, I was out before I knew it and in recovery and awake at just about the time I expected to be.Parking was convenient and the area was well marked with color coded signs. All in all, I couldn find anything to Improve upon.
I just had my baby girl there last week and it was a great experience!!! We loved all of the nurses, they were so helpful and nice. They made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. My OB was Dr. Kelly Gumbrecht and she was SO AWESOME. Words cant describe how happy we are with her and my whole pregnancy she walked us through everything and explained everything so clear to where we could understand what she was talking about. She made our experience at Ascension Providence absolutely amazing. We trusted her with EVERYTHING. She even comforted my husband when he was feeling scared when i was going through my contractions and delivery. I am so glad that she was our doctor and that i chose that hospital.. Nancy Mattoni was my gynocologist before and recommended me to Dr. Gumbrecht. Nancy was also an amazing gynocologist!♡ i guess i could say that i really love the team at the hospital!!
Do not step foot in Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital if you value your peace of mind, and the quality of the care you are seeking. The nurse did nothing else, but verbally harass me while I was sick. This particular nurse would burst out laughing when I tried to describe what I was feeling. When I told the nurse in question, “I feel sick, I really don’t have the energy to argue, and you’re being so unbelievably unprofessional,” the “nurse” replied: “I do not care.” (Verbatim) He stumbled over them as he spoke... as he knew what was coming out of his mouth was a wrong. I was profiled, and then sent on my way (albiet, feeling much worse), without a Doctor even looking at me. Go to Ascension where the nurses don’t care! They will literally tell you, there is absolutely no accountability in the ER.Do not step foot in this establishment if you need any sort of care, whether it’s palliative or something different. Drive the extra 3 miles, and go to Beaumont, your body is precious.I am a Veteran, and have always been an upstanding member of Rochester hills. I have never been treated with more disrespect than I was at Asencion Providence Rochester Hospital. Nobody should have to go through what I did that evening at Ascension.
Sorry to hear Crittenton has not gotten any better since 2003 when I had my hysterectomy. I am not sure if I was still in surgery but I could hear someone say, she is waking up. After surgery and in my room, I was sick from the anesthesia. I felt like a semi truck ran over me. As I was trying to walk like they told me, I was nauseated and vomiting in the hall. They act like I was not even there. I had to call for help. I was also constipated from the drugs for pain but was told I could not got home unless I pass gas and had a bowel movement. Finally 2 days later a nurse aid told me that tea they were giving me with my meals was keeping me constipated. As I began to fill some what better, I ended up helping the elderly lady in my room because they where not giving her the care she needed.
This hospital is a joke do not take your loved ones here. Ascension should be ashamed of themselves running a hospital like this. Staff very uncaring and supportive of their patients. Just a waste away hospital. Staff really needs education on customer service and compassion. Compassion is something that cant be taught it should come from within and the staff here is lacking it. A damn shame!!!!
Was called and told to arrive at 8:30 for my surgery. Get a call day of surgery at 7:40 with a nurse asking where i was at- apparently my time was changed and no one notified me. After getting to the hospital and back to my room for pre op my nurse in the hallway stated loudly “i dont believe no one updated her”. I brushed that off and asked if my husband could come back for my IV insertion explaining i have syncope issues and he helps keep me calm. To which she replied “ no, you can do it by yourself- if you throw a fit i will consider calling him” well- i ended up having a syncope episode due to the stress and her taking the needle in and out of my arm when she messed up my iv. Later a nurse came in to verify my id tags and they were wrong- i thought nothing of this until later when they sent my scripts home they were also wrong so my husband spent the entirety of the day tracking down the right script for me- not the other whitney marshall who was many years older. Pain management after surgery was mediocre at best- i remember waking up after surgery crying and begging for help because i was hurting so badly. Atop all of this i also was supposed to have my IUD which i use to regulate my periods due to the endometriosis for which i had my surgery. This hospital will not allow iuds because of their own religious beliefs. So i now have to undergo an additional procedure because this medical facility doesnt believe in iuds. Attached photo is my arm from where the nurse messed up my iv. Will NEVER set foot in this hospital again, heed my warning- the reviews of this facility are tell tale of the service you will receive- it is NOT just the emergency room service it is this hospital as a whole.
In Spring of 2016, I was turned away from the emergency department 3 times over the course of a week. I had hiccups and vomiting for weeks prior. Each time I was sent away with a plastic bin because they could not control the nausea. Turns out I was in the early stages of Transverse Myelitis. My symptoms were typical of brain stem involvement. I had all 3 of my babies at Crittenton. As far as I was concerned, they were the only hospital for our family. They way I was treated those 3 visits was completely unprofessional. No testing, just some zofran and good luck to you. I went on to be hospitalized for 9 weeks for treatment. Luckily there are hospitals in the area that take their patients symptoms seriously.
I am a cancer survivor. When I am having a non sleeping spell and anxiety they dont help much. The nurses are great, but the ER doctors are typically rude to me. When I can drive myself I always go to Troy Beaumont, but in my honest opinion. My bf went through an injury, broke his calcanous bone. We would go to McLaren Oakland. End of story ascension Rochester still has a terrible ER late night.
Im still here and havent left yet but hey I have time. My Doctor and his staff did an amazing job, the people at Mri scan and CT scans awesome job. 1/2 of my nurses were terrible. To the point I would get meds over an hour late at time. I have been here for 8 days and should have been shipped out 3-4. And when you dont stay on top of your medications pain or others. It screws up the whole process. I have one nurse here name Casey who helped me a bunch. Helped figure out that one of my medications was just stopped. He was very professional and attentive to what was going on. If there is a place to put up for reviews for him he would get 5 stars along with my doctor. Christopher also gets a 5. A few of the other nurses would normally get a 5 but because of how well these two went above and beyond. Then there are the others who put me in this position where I had relapses and we couldnt figure out why. It only helps if your meds are taken on time.... brought to you. I had to have one nurse use a time stamp on the white board she was so bad. If it wasnt for my doctor I would never have came here.
My sister was admitted to the behavioral health unit at this facility. Her assigned physician, Dr. Ana Rotar failed miserably as a psychiatric physician and as a patient advocate for her mentally ill patient. My sister was recently hospitalized and under Dr. Rotar’s care. She was discharged in a fully manic state where she is at risk of harming herself or someone else. My sister was no better (if not worse) than when she was admitted to Crittenton/ascension Rochester hospital. Dr. Rotar discharged her prematurely with clearance to return to her job 4 days later, where she is responsible for caring for the most vulnerable of our community— one wrong mistake, and someone’s life is at stake. In my opinion, Dr. Rotar and this facility are responsible their patient, whom she cleared for discharge, does in fact harm herself or someone else. My family attempted vehemently to get Dr. Rotar and hospital staff to continue my sisters care. Don’t let the same thing happen to you or your loved one! Please avoid this facility for your healthcare needs. You will be severely disappointed.
Was treated rudely in the ER when asking a question. Doctors order tests for my husband that we were not aware off when ask why they dont say even asking the nurses answer is just ordered. Ask what they are looking for all you get as an answer is test was ordered after review of all tests dr will come in. Cant they do one test if that is fine let you go not in our case they did several tests that were not necessary. Doctors and nurses need to explain. Was treated so rudely and no dr or nurses were available on the floor you waited 5 plus minutes to be answered very poor especially when there were only 3 patients in the section we were in.
I am a chronically ill patient who once loved everything about Crittenton hospital. But the last few years it has gone down hill majorly. Ive had money stolen from me before, nurse years ago denied me pain meds. Recently it seems the ER drs have become so rude. I had one dr after being sent in by my primary drs office treat me like a drug seeker. I end up needing surgery two months later that probably could’ve been avoided if she would’ve just did her job. I should’ve sued that dr and crittenton hospital because these rude drs aren’t a new problem. I’ve been to the ER many times since then and all the drs have treated me like a drug seeker. Recently I was treated the same way by Vanessa Mendoza a PHYSICIANS ASSISTANT!! I only seen her one time when she rudely asked what I was there for and was trying to undermined why my dr sent me to the ER. She read my previous visit before even coming to see me and kept wanting to address that instead of listening to or read the paper of symptoms I wrote cause she “didn’t have time”. She rudely kept talking over me instead of listening. Then she finally said she’d just call my dr. After that I never seen her again only knew I was being admitted because of the registration lady telling me so. Not everyone is a drug seeker I no long take pain medication only in the hospital when I really need it so I’m not there seeking drugs!! I’m a chronically ill patient!!! The ER or hospital is the last place I ever want to go trust I’ve had too many years of stays there. After you are on to a regular floor the nurses and drs are amazing. Obviously from all these reviews your management needs to address your very rude ER drs and some of the ER nursing/assistant staff as well. And no I don’t want to call and speak to anyone about this. I’ve finally made the decision to start going to Beaumont.
Horrible. Somehow decided my husband was suffering from delirum after a 2nd surgery when in fact they didnt give him ANY of his normal meds after surgery. Only when I brought to their attention and they were administered did he start coming back around. That is a major, MAJOR screw up.Now I see the reply below. This was supposed to be taken care of by the team on the rehab floor. I see it went nowhere...Why would I have called. I talked to everyone there more than once and you did NOTHING
When I delivered at Crittenton it felt like they were trying to rush me into having my baby. They did not listen to the way that I felt. they treated my husband and I like we were just children and did not know any better. Once Baby was taken via c-section they took my baby and put him on antibiotics due to a low risk of him having an infection. & I was put in recovery for 4 hours. The nurses would not answer my questions and ignored me as I was waiting to see my baby again. they put him next to my face once he was delivered via c-section for 2 minutes and I had to beg to have him next to me longer.mind you I was not able to have my arms on strapped to touch my baby. we were separated for 4 hours after he was delivered, no doctor or nurse told me that this would be the case before the c-section. while my child was receiving antibiotics for a chance of having an infection the nurses treated us like garbage discouraged us from breastfeeding and acted like we did not know anything and we did not deserve our child. In the special baby unit the head pediatrician threatened us and told us our baby would die if we didnt give him antibiotics. It was the most traumatic terrifying three days of my life and I would not wish it upon anyone. Birth is supposed to be beautiful and special and I feel like Crittenton took that away from me. I would never return there I would rather died on the way to a farther hospital then ever return to Crittenton.
Total nightmare of an overnight stay in Cardiac ICU after procedure yesterday. There were many screwups however the best was that a powerful blood thinner was given and not charted as dispensed, and was attempted to be given again by the next shift about 2 hours later.I probably would not be writing this if I didnt catch their mistake.
This is the worse place to get yourself treated. I visited this hospital for a yearly check up (which is included in the insurance free of cost once a year). I specifically asked doctor to consider only those things that are included in the insurance. This was done in the December month last year. After this there was no communication for next 7-8 months. I also did not call them because I was not expecting a bill. But suddenly some 10 days back I got a bill which was already transferred to another agency for recovery. Along with the bill was a letter stating that I was sent multiple communications which I had not respond to and I had pending bill. Well first of all I never received any bill or letters for eight months, secondly, if there was any such thing they should have called and confirm. Lastly, why should I pay this bill? I was treated 8months back and I was assured that everything is covered in the insurance and I need to pay nothing. Then why all this mess now? However I tried calling up the billing department to clarify but surprisingly the internal departments in the hospital are not at all synchronized and patients have to go through all sufferings due to management and doctors mistakes. First I called billing department (number was mentioned on the bill), but they said they could do nothing (as they displayed their department phone number on the bill just for fun). They told me to call the doctor, but they themselves didnt had doctors contact details or office number. I had to make multiple calls to somehow get to the doctors office number. Again doctor also do not take the responsibility for the error that happened and asked to call Wyane state (which is not the part of the hospital anymore). Well somehow I got that number and called them up and they clearly said they have nothing to do with the bill. Its the doctor who gives the codes to billing department and they are the ones who needs to change the billing codes. Well, I again reached out to the doctor and she gave the same stupid argument again. I had to explain her that she has to change the codes and give it. Finally she accepts the mistake and confirms that there was bill code error and that needs to be updated and new bill needs to be generated. But she said she already realized this and made the necessary changes 4 months back. But this was not updated in the billing department it seems. After little more research I came to know that there was not coordination between the billing department and the doctor. Billing department said when doctors change the codes on the system from the back end it does not get reflected in their system automatically. I was told to contact the doctor again, and take the codes personally and submit it to the billing department myself. I again got back to the doctor but this time she started avoiding my calls. Every-time I called up and receptionist did not transfer my call to the doctor, and gave me std reasons that doctor was busy and was not calling me back hence. This continued for 10 days. Well, I understand doctor could be busy but if I had been calling continuously from last 10 days, it should be enough for the doctor to grab the attention and come on the call for two minutes and tell me the new billing codes. Then finally after 10 days I told the receptionist, if I do not get either the new codes or atleast the doctor on call today then I am going to file a police complaint. And finally, receptionist made some efforts, she kept me on hold for about 20 minutes and told me that she got the codes from the doctor. It was a small five minutes of efforts for receptionist as well as the doctor but neither of them were willing to help the customer. I would recommend everyone to avoid visiting this hospital. However, if anyone and too much of free time and is willing to go through all this struggle of running behind them then they can visit this hospital.
This was the worst visit my girlfriend and I experienced so we get to the hospital and had to wait 2 hours to see a doctor. A nice security guard offered us some food and we took it so we finally get back to the room and her doctor asked her about where did she get the food from he was more concerned about the food then her. So he took the food and she told him to just give it to me he totally ignored what she said which was disrespectful and rude. On top of that she was denied medicine which was totally wrong. This will definitely be the last time we go to crittenton I promise u that.
I ripped my cornea and by the time I got to the ER I couldnt see. They put me in a room and left me. I had no way of knowing how long I was sitting, alone and in excruciating pain. I eventually called my friend and she was shocked, because i had been there over an hour with no medical attention. I went into the hallway and started yelling. The doctor had no idea I was even in the room. A nurse mumbled something about shift change.Despite taking my insurance information twice, they managed to not get it in the system at all and I received an enormous bill.I thought there was nothing worse than being alone, blind, and in horrifying pain. Crittendon managed to surpass that. Hearing medical staff laugh and joke outside my door while I was completely ignored when I needed help has got to be one of the worst things Ive been through. I will never go there again.
I have been a patient there multiple times and sometimes for up to a week or more. But last time I was there with a friend the er service was extremely bad. We ended up walking out going to Beaumont. Only certain er doctor that sucks I had the same doctor she was about to send me home. Than my doctor got evolved . I ended upstairs for a week needing blood transfusions. Figure the problem. That doctor shouldnt be working. Also had some good doctor in the er. Hit and miss. Than the weekend nursing staff during the day shift is bad .I wanted to get out of there go to different hospital couldnt my doctor goes there. Also food service sucks. They will mess up your order badly. Happened three different visit. Seems like all together the hospital going down since they got bought out . The only reason I go there because my primary doctor and two specialist that go out of that hospital. My primary doctor is the best. If he wasnt at that hospital I wouldnt be going there anymore
I am so dissatisfied in this hospital. We have been waiting in the emergency room for all most two hours. This is the worst hospital that I have ever been to. They need to go back to drawing board, er staff not impressed. The cleaning personnel didnt even sterilize the restroom. No wonder people are getting sick.
I was there on 8-26-19. They basically discharged me with a broken knuckle after misreading an x-ray, despite the fact that I was obviously in agony. Staff just had me soak my hand in water and gave me a couple Tylenol, then told me it was simply bruised and would heal in a couple of weeks. I know that medical professionals arent perfect, but this was negligence, and the staff struck me as uncaring. I would crawl to Troy Beaumont even if I got shot outside of the place.
My parents and I have used this hospital numerous times. The circumstances were often unpleasant, but the staff never were. I have been met with nothing but courtesy and professionalism. It is difficult to draw blood for me and, when I told them this, they took me seriously and found someone who was the best they had at doing that, and he certainly was a good choice. I have been to the emergency room, and I have been admitted. My only complaints would be that it can sometimes take a long time to get an overnight room for someone coming from the emergency room, and their cafeteria does not have a very good selection. To me, for hospital, those are pretty meager issues.
Last night I was writhing in pain from a kidney stone. This had never happened to me before so naturally I was really scared. I checked in tho the ER, handed the registrar my ID and health insurance card. I was seen in less than 10 min, and was taken care of fairly quickly. Their pain management and knowledgeable ER staff were outstanding, as was their facilities and nursing staff. I was very impressed, and will probably pick up a primary care provider from this facility.Outstanding service, very professional staff, and very clean and modern facility.
My husband has no insurance, he had to go through Crittenton Emergency due to a fungal rash caused by a gym that he worked out at. Unfortunately, no other medical facility will accept billing. With no insurance, you are expected to pay for everything (hundreds,/thousands of $$$) up front, regardless how serious your case may be. No clinics offer monthly billing nor will they accept care credit. When we explained this to the emergency doctor on staff, I attempted to continue on saying they are the only clinic that will accept payments with no insurance. But instead, Dr. Michael Vickery cut me off and said oh, yeah! Then you can just come to us, get care, and not pay us at all!! excuse me? Profiling your clients... How unprofessional!! Im absolutely disgusted with this doctor and the way he treated my husband. I will be contacting management.
WOW..I love Crittenton Hospital! I just had knee surgery in July and everyone was so great! My daughter-in-law had a hysterectomy this month and had great service! The few times I have taken my 90 yr old dad to ER, everyone is so nice and helpful. So glad I have a great hospital in my neighborhood!
Terrible hospital. Went into to me seen for SVT and Panic attack and got told to grow up and forced me out of the hospital without any treatment even the doctor and nurse cursed me out and told me to leave because I’m being dramatic and acting like a child. This hospital does not take mental issues seriously.
Has gone downhill somewhat significantly since Ascension has taken over. There is no choice in the food anymore and its horrendously bland and unappetizing. There are patients in there who require proper nutrition and food that at least has some level of taste. Additionally some areas appear to be understaffed and have noticed less quality in patient care.I completely understand the need to cut costs, but this is becoming too much. I am posting this knowing full well nothing will change, but I figured I would make people aware. The medical staff is fine for the most part, but the cost cutting is getting out of hand.
I was at another hospital after I fell and hit my head pretty hard. I was bleeding and had a huge swelling on my head that was extremely painful. I waited in the ER at the other hospital for 2 hours and when I checked on when I might be seen the nurse told me it would be at least another 2.5 hours. I was not offered any ice or any comfort measures for my injury. I called Crittenton and spoke with the ED staff and they said to come over. I was put in an ED room upon my arrival and was seen by Dr. Bauer and the PA within a very short period of time. I was treated with compassion by the ED staff, was given and ice bag for my head and medication for my pain. I found out I also had a broken toe.I will definitely go right to Crittenton the next time I have an emergency. I only went to the other hospital in Troy because it was very near to where I worked.
Today is 8/28/18. I have just sat here and read hundreds of reviews, and I will be sure to stay far away from this hospital after everything Ive just read. This was very enlightening, and after all Ive read, I wouldnt let my dog be seen here even if it was free of charge! Its quite sad, but 95% of the reviews talk about extremely poor individuals working in the ER.Thank God for freedom of speech for Ill make sure myself, nor my family will ever attend this institution.
If you are looking for wound care as a diabetic, this is NOT the place to go!!!These folks seem pleasant enough, but they also think that it is okay for a patient to wait 1 to 2 hours from their appointment time to be seen. You need a half of a day like dialysis for this center. That is NOT appropriate! All they have to offer are unprofessional excuses to why their services are so slow from receptionist to nurse management. The operation of scheduling in this center needs major attention. POOR SERVICE...GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
My mom went by emergency to crittenton with chest pain. They took good care of her and the hospital is beautiful. Her room is very nice and clean. Much improved since 4 years ago. Drs and nurses were excellent both visits but cleanliness has exceptionaly improved. Her recovery was closely monitored by kind staff. Great room service for patient and guest. Good food and welcoming to concerned family with a place for guests to lay down! That is a answer to prayer! A heavenly experience with God meeting our needs:)
I recently had surgery here and pre op nurses were sweet. A lot of gossiping about each other in front of patients I thought that was kind of unprofessional. In PACU I remember waking up and feeling very groggy, heard more gossiping talking about a nuRse they didn’t like I could barley open my eyes when this nurse came up to me didn’t even ask how I was feeling, put my bag of clothes on the bed by feet and said “ok, get dressed and just open the curtains when you are finished” I could hardly sit up and I got dressed with my IV still in. I like the hospital I like my doctor the nurses and PACU was not a sweet experience.
I am disappointed by my experience. Today, I came in for an employee physical -- because of this I didnt expect to be treated splendidly, but I did expect basic respect. Most of the staff met this basic expectation (or was close). The doctor that performed my physical was so disrespectful and abrasive. Barking orders. To top it off, when I thanked him, he ignored me and said Kay and scoffed. Not a way to treat your patients. We are humans, not machines.
Six months ago my mother passed away from the rigors of old age. The hospital made her last days comfortable. She seemed never to be alone. There was always a nurse or an aide in her room tending to her needs. Her doctor (Dr. Afram) saw her every day and even took on the role of Hospice doctor in the final days. He kept me informed of her condition each and every day and made sure that she was comfortable. My mom passed away in her sleep. There was no pain. She was treated with respect, and someone was there with her as she took her final breath.I know when one writes a review it is usually to give notice of something extraordinary or something bad. This is not one of those reviews. This review is simply to say THANKS for everyone that works and practices at this hospital. Our family has used this hospital for our needs for more than 20 years and have never looked else where for emergency care or other reasons. If you have the choice be confident that the people who make up this hospital will do their best to comfort you, heal you, and provide for your needs. Thank you. Steven La Joie
Been here since 7:00am for scheduled surgery for family member. Not a single update for a 2 hour surgery. So asked desk receptionist for update at 3:00 and quote i only know what the board says. As i started to get mad and tell her to walk back and find out, the doctor walked. Then 2 hours later anothe couple as her the same question and her answer was i will find out. So now its 6: 00pm been here all day. And now this woman finally woke up and took noticed. Further more not a single tv gets any reception, the seating in the waiting area is the worst ever. If you are to keep people there for any time needs updating. I was there for 11 hours for a 2 hour surgery with no updates and a rude receptionist.
Im giving this hospital a “3” based purely on billing. I’ve been coming here for years and have always had a good experience and great care.My review is based on their billing practices. I’ve noticed that since Ascension Health took over the billing and payment collection process has gone terribly down hill.I’ve accumulated 6 different bills this year due to an ongoing medical issue. 5 out of 6 bills have been incorrect. In reviewing my insurance companies EOB’s, all 5 times the hospital has short billed my insurance company and then sent me bills trying to collect the balance. In all 5 bills I had met my out of pocket max and annual deductible so those bills would have been paid 100% by my health insurance. The amount of multiple phone calls and hours-yes hours on the phone with billing trying to get this resolved is uncalled for.The customer service reps are confused and it takes forever to explain what happened. They eventually get it and resend the bills back for insurance reprocessing but I continue to get bills in the mail. It’s time for me to switch back to Beaumont Health frown now on. I’ve never had previous billing issues with Beaumont Health.I can certainly understand a billing error once but 5 times is ridiculous.Due to my ongoing medical issues my insurer has paid out $70,000 to Ascension just in 2019 alone. This is now money that will go to Beaumont Health. Maybe Ascension doesn’t care about $70,000 grand in potential cash flow since they can’t seem to get their act together billing services.
If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. I left work early last night and went to the ER due to excruciating pain in my right side, which was also causing pain in my back right shoulder. Chad M Kovala was the “doctor”. As soon as he walked in the room, he was rude. No hi, no nothing. He really made me feel uncomfortable from the beginning. Most of the other nurses were nice, especially the lady giving me my ultrasound. I can’t remember the last time I was in this much pain. I could barely breathe. They did blood work and, like I just said, ordered an ultrasound. When I got back from the ultrasound, I was waiting in the room with my husband. I could hear a man yelling “help, help, I’m in so much pain, oh my god, help” over and over and over again. My husband said he was doing that for most the time I was gone for the ultrasound and nobody went over there. Finally, after me sitting there for 15 minutes listening to this man cry for help, a nurse walks over there and says “oh my gosh!! He’s off the bed! Someone help me get him up!”I’m sitting there, waiting in bed for the results, scared half to death of what they will be, still crying. Here comes Chad M Kovala. He bluntly says “nothing is wrong with your results, you can go home”. Taken back, I said “what do you mean? Something has to be wrong, I can’t possibly feel this way for no reason. Can you run different tests?” He said, “no, your fine” and basically walked out of the room. Wouldn’t answer my questions, nothing. Now, im leaving the ER bawling, still in so much pain, knowing that I feel like I could die and they wouldn’t do anything to help me.I’m now sitting at home, 8 hours later with no sleep, still in pain, & a temperature of 102.5.I had my son at Crittenton Hospital 5 years ago. I can tell you this, I will never, ever, be back.
Worst care anywhere, not even a sip of water after colonoscopy. Just a get up get dressed and get out. No call day after, or contact from Doctors office. Had chills and very bad stomach cramps, sent home ASAP. Dr. Ravikant is the worst, week later still have not heard from her office. Even though I cancelled an appointment the next day at the hospital. Seems no one cares what happened to me!
I visited this hospital the other day due to being very worried and emotional with what I had going on. When I get there and get into a room I was told not to undress until I get signed in. So as I’m waiting for my wrist band the rn comes and rudely tells me to get undressed . I explained I was told to wait . Then after I get undressed I’m sitting in the bed the same rn comes back and says to me rudely over and over again “ what makes this an emergency!” As I’m trying to explain what’s going on, she just keeps asking , at that point I was ready to get up in leave, to me if I’m worried I may have blood clots, tumors , whatever I don’t know what’s going on with me no more than they do when I first get there! There should be absolutely no reason being so rude. I got extremely emotional and then that’s when the lady wanted to show like she had some type of sympathy. Also the doctor was not friendly and tended not to care what so ever came in the room barley looked at what I had going on and left and got my discharge papers . I’m so disappointed on how in sensitive it was here . I understand people may come for reasons they think are dumb or a waste of time , but we are not doctors and we don’t know what’s going on with us and yes I was extremely worried about what is going on with me . Regardless whatever reason someone comes in there and I’m sure there are dumb reasons to you , you should never treat someone that way ! You don’t know how they are feeling .
This morning I tried to go in to receive blood work and a RhoGam injection. I was assured by a biller at my OBGYN (as we have been in contact regarding how to have this injection covered since June) that it would not need a prior authorization with my insurance, Blue Care Network. I was told by Crittenton staff (and she read it from a book behind her desk) that this particular injection needed a prior authorization. This review is of no reflection of her because she was professional and I believe that she was trying to avoid any extreme out-of-pocket costs, but shame on Ascension for providing your employees with out-of-date information. As a prior claims examiner for a health insurance company, having up-to-date insurance information is essential to your patients receiving care. How many other people have been turned away due to incorrect information?I did speak to insurance verification at Crittenton and was reaffirmed that this service did not require a prior authorization.
My Ex-husband came to ER in 2016 literally dying--ER staff moved quickly to get him to MRI--and was prepped for surgery--Dr. Einas Joseph is a saint....Ascension is very fortunate to have her on staff; because of her gifted hands he is a healthy 65 year old man. I cannot leave out the ICU RNs and Docs- and Rehabilitation Dept.-- It was an unbelievable and miraculous journey. Thank you to all.
I would never go back to that place. The doctor didnt even look to see what was wrong, and walked away while we were giving an explanation. He never came back. Then the nurse didnt even explain what he was doing before he gave shots and made him take pills. They tested for strep when we were there because his neck lymphnodes are all huge and putting pressure on his air way. When we asked the nurse if they were going to take another test (only after he explained his throat looked fine), you know maybe look at the part of the body we were actually their for...he said I dont feel like it, when I can assume whats wrong with you and just give you medication. No blood was drawn, no one looked at what was wrong with him, and then just have him pills assuming they knew what was wrong. NEVER GO THERE!!!! Especially the ER!!!! Horrible staff!!!!!!!
Although I was treated well once admitted, ER services were HORRIBLE! The physician treated me as if I were a drug addict seeking meds when clearly my chart states that I go through severe pain due to SLE and arthritis. Who would drive this far if that were the case? She didnt even give me a proper exam! It got to the point where my mother had to contact my regular Dr to get proper care/results. I also had to talk my mother out of slapping the hell out of this lady for her rude attitude and unkind behavior. She just doesnt know that people will go off about their sick/disabled children, no matter their age! At least my parents will. Im pretty sure HIPPA WOULD NOT approve of the bs and violations from last nights shenanigans. Im truly disappointed.
Dont ever accept a hospitalist, intensivist or any physician that doesnt have an outside practice. Those that are employed by the hospital are the bottom of the barrel and usually of Middle Eastern background. These also are on the staff at Troy Beaumont; therefore, you cant run away from them. There are some good Doctors at both. Your better off if you know someone who works there for a referral. I do know from personal experience the head of cardiology almost killed me and his associate covered him by stating lies on my chart which I could not believe when she was asked by a intensivist for a consultation. One charged my insurance $450 for each visit. I didnt need the cardiologist... . As a RN, I know how bad medical care is today. Your lucky if you have a primary care physician who is your advocate.
I had exceptional care from over the phone calls, registration, the nurse assistant, anesthesiologist all of the wonderful nurses and my Dr. Jignesh N. Patel I watched the nurses be very accommodating to the whiney lady in recovery (next to me) who complained non stop and had no disregard for of us patients. Thank you all for the wonderful care.
Received excellent care here today. From check in with Amanda, to the staff member who stopped me in the hallway to see if I was finding everything, the lady at the lab desk who was pleasant and helpful, the nurses in recovery, the surgical staff, and Dr. Girgis, everyone we encountered today gave as a wonderful experience. THANK YOU!
Doesnt even deserve one star!! Absolutely terrible!! Tried calling to make an appointment to see my GP and was given 4 different numbers to call and was transferred 3 times to people who had no idea what they were talking about. I even had some lady argue with me about my insurance and tried to send me to a doctors office 45 minutes away that Ive never heard of. I was told that the office was closed but after being transferred one last time I was told by some extremely nasty lady the office isnt closed but there was no way I could see a doctor today. Everyone I talked to was rude except for one person. I will never be going here again!!!!
Crittenton Ascension hospital in Rochester Hills, Mi have their priorities out of order. Your loved one making a full recovery is not at the top of their list. It seems to fall below other factors including money and insurance. My dads health was failing drastically and at rock bottom- he couldnt even walk. The way Crittenton dealt with him was poor to say the least! They tried to discharge him before he was even moderately recovered. I was angered by this for I couldnt take care of him at home the way he was! He still couldnt walk! They agreed to keep him longer after I spoke up, which made me even more concerned by their obvious lack of a stable treatment plan or vision for my father! After another day or two, they released him- unable to walk still in extremely poor health. There was quite obviously insurance and other non-health related factors driving the decisions being made for my dad and I assume every other patient as wellGet this- my dads health went straight back to where it was after being released, so we had to call an ambulance, but we requested they take him to St. Joes Mercy Hospital.St. Joes hospital treated my dad with love! They kept him there until he was fully recovered, showered, clean, stable, and able to walk! I want going to leave crittenton a bad review until I saw how poor they were in comparison! The nurses at St. Joes even kept my dad and extra day longer because they wanted to see him a fully recovered individual before leaving.Crittenton failed this time. Thanks for reading.
Emergency room is the absolute worst in metro Detroit. Being there feels like a horror movie. Staff was rude, they made inappropriate jokes about my stay while I was very clearly in pain. “We are going to sell your organs on the black market” was really great to hear after passing out. Had a spinal tap last night, none of the 3 people in the room wore a face mask for what is supposed to be a “sterile” procedure. Had I been in the right head space I would have walked out.
Ive had several surgeries here over the past 20+ years and have had a great experience each time. Most recently, I had outpatient surgery (both feet) March 23, 2015. Check-in at 5:00 am was quick and friendly. The pre-op staff were courteous, made sure I was warm, comfortable, and had all my questions and concerns addressed. Post Op is mostly a haze, but I do remember a nurse laughing because I was so woozy while they tried to get me to wake up. When I was awake enough, they moved me to a comfy recliner, brought coffee (yes!) and a little food to snack on, then made sure I was comfortable on my crutches and awake enough to leave. After our insurance paid their portion, Crittenton was very easy to work out a payment plan for our balance. Highly recommend Crittenton! Kathleen Schweiger Laporta
The first time I went here, it was the day after going to the Genesys ER in grand blanc, they sent me home after telling me I was having a miscarriage, without preparing me for what was to come. The next day, in screaming pain, my husband called them to see if we could get in, and they said we would have to wait a few hours, so we called Crittenton and they said we would be seen right away. They put me in a private room to do a pelvic exam, I was treated excellently. The second time I went here, I was afraid I was having a miscarriage again, I was put into a room quickly, and even tho the wait was long (we were there a total of 6.5 hrs, we had to wait for the ultra sound tech on call to come in) they were SO nice and SO helpful, and I even ended up hearing my babies heartbeat and seeing it on the ultrasound. The were beyond my expectations after being at Genesys. The facilities were much better taken care of, the staff was quieter and more attentive.
Have been to the ER here 3 times in 2 weeks. Cant stop throwing up. 2 nights ago I was there. Female ER dr was so cold. She gave me a bag of fluid and zofran for nausea and sent me home still nauseated. I asked what could be causing this. She said These things happen. I am still sick. I guess its time to give Beaumont a visit. Used to swear by Crittenton. Wont ever go back.
Dont even deserve 1 star. You told me i had a bladder infection and sent me on my way. I have a severe infection in my uterus ive been in Beaumonts hospital going on 3 days now. Your staff treated me like i was stupid and like i was not in pain while they were running around laughing and joking with each other so tereible. I will NEVER come there again and i will never recommend it to anyone either.
I went to the ER because I was having sharp pains and I knew I was pregnant. I had several strong positive pregnancy test and missed by period my a whole week. After explaining it to a young resident Dr, she ordered for a few labs. Get this !! She comes back and says out test are negative blood and urine so it looks like your not pregnant so we don’t know what’s wrong with you. I CANT MAKE THIS UP. So I was discharged. I drove over to Beaumont, same day !! Told them the exact same story. They took me very serious I got labs, a pelvic examine and a ultrasound oredered even before the blood work came back. MY RESULTS WERE POSTIVE! MY HCG LEVELS ARE AT 1600! Pretty pregnant if you ask me !! Moral of my story go to Beaumont!
PART 2: Last week I posted that my 88 y/o grandmother was getting treated at this facility and that her treatment was less than satisfactory. Lets start at the beginning. We were originally concerned about a UTI as she was having extreme confusion and issues using the bathroom. Her GP who has Crittenton Affiliation gave us a sterile collection cup and asked us to bring her and the specimen back on Friday, 5/13 for a checkup. On Friday, he took one look at her and decided to admit her to Crittenton. Upon arrival at Crittenton, we were trying to give one of her nurses and/or doctors her specimen to be tested as this was still a major worry for us (UTI in the elderly can be dangerous). They didnt want the specimen we collected, they said theyd test for a UTI if they found it necessary. Well, obviously they didnt find it necessary (more on that later). We were alerted they day before her discharge that they were sending her to a rehab facility to get stronger. A list of facilities was shoved in our face by a less than compassionate Social Worker who gave us about 4 minutes (literally) to make a decision. We fought against this discharge, we even tried calling her GP at 11pm the evening before and begged him to keep her admitted, as she wasnt stable. He informed us the next day that the Cardiologist (Dr. Goyle?) assured him that her heart was stable and she was ready to be released. LIES! Her heart rate was off the charts the night before she was released and it was still off the charts the day she arrived at the Rehab facility when they took her vitals. The evening before she got booted out, we inquired to the nurse about the original UTI test we requested, and she said Im not seeing anything in the record about a UTI test, but her white blood cell count appeared normal. She spent 4 days in the Rehab Facility, who, upon admission, questioned many of the decisions made at Crittenton: Why was she taken off her Alzheimers Medications cold turkey? Was she truly tested for a UTI? Why didnt they honor your request for a podiatrist to come and take care of her painful ingrown toenails? We had no answers for them, because Crittenton had no answers for us. Each day in the Rehab Facility, she became progressively worse. She went from being in bad shape to being at deaths door. Last night, she was gasping for air, grimacing, thrashing and moaning loudly. The last type of communication she gave us was Monday afternoon, when out of the blue, she began spelling out a few random words to us. Yesterday, the only two words she spelled were H O M E and H E L P. We felt powerless, and it was obvious that she was in serious pain. The rehab facility was great, but they did NOT have the equipment to deal with her condition, which is why I am AGAIN questioning Crittenton and their MORONIC standard of care. She was in so much pain and angst, the facility checked her vitals: heart rate at 160, uncontrolled by the Cardizem & Beta Blocker that Crittenton assured us would keep her stable...and they even gave her two doses of Ativan & Risperdal to try to control the thrashing and lower her heart rate. NOTHING. She was rushed to Beaumont Troy at 2am. The ER Doctor was by her side the second she arrived. Within 10 minutes he had diagnosed a severe case of Sepsis, brought on by, you guessed it...an undiagnosed UTI as well as pneumonia and acute cholecystitis. These arent things that you just get in a 4 day span at a Rehab Facility. These are things that take time to fester and take over your body and progress into the type of infection that she is fighting as we speak. Im thankful to Beaumont Troy for treating her like a person and not just another bed that needs to be cleared out ASAP. Crittenton, you may try to reach out to me again to attempt damage control, and you obviously have my phone number so feel free to call; just dont expect a very understanding person on the other end of the line, or accept any type of remorseful statement/apology you post on here. Disgusted is an understatement when it comes to this hospital.
My Dr. sent me to Crittenton to have a sleep study done. I was told by the hospital that my insurance would not cover the study, they needed to set me up with a take home unit to show the necessity for the full study. I did the home test and approximately 2 weeks later I received a call from the hospital saying the take home study showed I do need further evaluation and they have contacted my insurance co. and it would be COVERED. I had the study done Dec 28th 2015 and heard back from the Hospital approx 2 weeks later. To my surprise I also received a bill for $5100 which my insurance was going to pay approximately half the cost living me a total of $2474.95 to pay out of my own pocket. When they told me it was covered, I thought I would have a small deductible/copay not almost $2500! I called the billing center multiple times trying to discuss this mater with them, I was told someone would get back with me. Finally after the 3rd/4th time of me trying to get an explanation the nice lady at the billing dept said my statement was reviewed and the chargers are in line and the best they could do is set up a payment plan for me. In the mean time I was getting prices online for sleep studys in South East Michigan and the most expense I could find was $1500. I dont understand how the cost can be so out of line. If you are told it was cover and it was really going to cost you $2500 that information should be given to you. I feel very deceived by Crittenton Hospital and now have a collections agency calling. Please dont make my mistake and trust Crittenton Hospital.
Its a good hospital with some good staff, but some of the doctors treat the patients very badly. The joking and laughing of the staff in the hallways are legendary. Really when you are very sick you dont want to hear 4 nurses joking around and being silly about cupcakes. Perhaps they could provide a break room and play room for the staff that can not control there urge to be childish in an emergency room where people go to get there lives saved. Also be very careful about telling them your in pain and showing an ounce of emotion about it, you will be instantly treated like drug seeker. And lastly never ever tell them narcotics make you itchy, dont you know benadryl is the new drug of choice???? Some of the doctors I think should have tried a life at working at a prison, they might have found the work more rewarding. A hospital only has sick people a prison has real drug addicts.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yep its me again. This is horrible! Are you guys reading the comments???? I cant believe that people are treated this way. Some of these reviews are written by elderly patients! Whats wrong with you! I am asking you or deploring you, read this. One day you will get sick, your mother will get sick, your dad.....someone you love will be in a hospital. Dont let this continue. Im not asking you to do things that are wrong, im asking you to have compassion. You are working in a field where you are saving lives. Everything you say or do makes a difference. Not everyone is given this honor or chance. If someone that works in this hospital is reading this please listen to me, things have to change. If you can receive better care in another country what does that say? And no its not someone elses problem. You work in the health care system, its you who has been given the responsibilty of making a difference. I hope my words haunt you. I hope your a Doctor that drives your fancy car home and suddenly you get sick and you are treated the way you have treated others. If your only concern is making sure people dont get pain medication you are in the wrong job. Crittenton you should be ashamed of the stories these reviews tell.
On 4-23-14 my mother went to the emergency room. the young female doctor on duty was very arrogant, Condescending and rude She made the family feel unwelcome and like we were a bothersome to her.The information she relaid to us concerning my mothers medical issue were all contradicted by her on words when asked questions. we tried conveying this back to her in a positive manner , to make sure we were understanding the information presented to us. She seemed more set on repeating the fact that she is a DOCTOR an EMERGENCY ROOM DOCTOR, like we were beneath her and my mothers issues were minor. We found this to be very unprofessional and uncalled for . To our dismay we will no longer use this emergency room/ hospital .The inconvenience of driving a slight distance farther to another hospital will be worth it,to be treated with respect and dignity by people who show some compassion and are willing to help . We still would like to give her (doctor)the koodos she is seeking! We are proud you chose to educate yourself and become a functioning member of society - we are confident if she(doctor) would take a class or two on people relations skills she would actually get the RESPECT she(doctor) seems to be craving. It only takes one bad experience to spread like wild fire to thousands of others and takes thousands of good experiences to spread to very few .
My mother was involved in a car accident, she was t-boned by another driver. The EMTs transported her to her to Crittenton as a precautionary measure. Once there, my mother was treated horribly by the nursing staff. This is so disappointing to me. Nurses should be our first allies, but sadly I am hearing more and more stories of mistreatment of the patients at this particular hospital by the nursing staff.
Thank you for giving me ventilator associated pneumonia and untreated brain damage!! Was in a coma three years ago and I am still dealing with chronic illness because of it. Worst ER and ICU staff on this side of michigan! VAP can easily be avoided and now I am immunocompromised.
I was on 11.59 on ER with my son and over 2 and half hours the doctor didnt visit us yet.I need to say was a quiet night, only few pupils inside so not too busy. The lady from desk was indifferent when i said i am leaving, so I did. Was the worst experience in my life.
Terrible all around. After botching an operation the fumbling around trying to cure the infection in my son for a week with no improvement we finally had him transferred him to another hospital. The difference was night and day .He was well in 3 days .I suggest starting somewhere else unless .oh they still come after their thousands of dollars in billing relentlessly .if they pursued my sons health the way they come after their money they would been a great place.
Is there a negative star?? I live less than a mile from this hospital and if I had a car accident in front of it I would tell the ambulance to take me ANYWHERE but CRITTENTON! I have had a bad experience there, my neighbor has had two bad experiences there, her husband had a bad experience there, and the list goes on. . I dont know when it changed but something has definitely changed and not for the better. I personally cannot recommend it.
The experience I witnessed in the care of my daughter last week was atrocious! She was taken here by ambulance with a possible spinal injury. Her ER nurse showed little respect toward her and treated her with indifference. She was asked while in a C collar AND with a possible spinal injury to: bend foward, remove her own clothes, roll unassisted onto her side and drink from a cup without a straw. The care by the CT technicIan was even worse. She was dragged unto the scanning table by her arm and again asked her to remove her pants-after the scan had already started while she was wearing pants with metal on them. I called to talk to someone, but no one return my call. I CANNOT BE MORE IMPHATIC IN STATING; DO NOT GO TO THIS EMERGENCY ROOM!
My 88 year old grandmother has been in Crittenton for 5 days now with a suspected pulmonary embolism. She has A-Fib and is having recurring a-fib attacks while in the hospital. Shes on the 5th floor (cardiology floor) and the bad experiences weve had have truly outweighed the good experiences. The left hand doesnt know what the right hand is doing. For starters, the doctors and nurses we encountered in the emergency room gave us the run down on what is wrong with my grandma; she has clots in her legs and one has most likely traveled to her chest. Shed need to be on continuous blood thinners to help break up the clots. Shes VERY weak and frail. She cant sit up on her own without help. Every nurse and doctor weve encountered since then have told us a contradictory story...one says she doesnt have a clot in her lung, but the other one says theyre 99% sure she does.I came to visit my grandma in the hospital on Saturday around noon. I walked into her room and and noticed that her lunch was all over her, there was wet brown liquid all over herself and her sheets, and upon further investigation, she was sitting halfway on a bedpan. Of course when I saw this, I immediately thought her bedpan spilled, but then realized she had spilled the cup of tea from her lunch all over herself. The brown liquid was freezing cold, as if it had been there forever and I still couldnt figure out why there was a bedpan half under her. I hit the red button on her bed to get a nurse, and about 10 minutes later, one walked in acting put off by our request. I pointed out the spill and the bedpan and she said let me go look for her to get help....look for who? another 10 minutes go by and another nurse comes in and says she asked me for help but I dont know where she went? and by that point I just told her these sheets need to be changed RIGHT NOW before her skin started chaffing. I also asked her why she was sitting halfway on a bedpan and she acted like she had no idea how it got there! Not done yet. Yesterday I got to the hospital and my grandma was in her bed panting like a dog, having a very hard time catching her breath. I panicked and hit the emergency button to call a nurse....AGAIN, 15 minutes go by and there is NO nurse to be found. I walked out to an empty nurses station and had to flag down whoever I can find. Sure enough, she was having an a-fib attack and her heartrate was going 160+ bpm. They tell us theyll send in a doctor for some tests shortly. About 30 minutes later, a doctor weve never met before came in and acted oblivious to my grandmothers case, didnt have a file to review and acted like he was Sherlock Holmes because he pointed out she may have a clot up here as he pointed at his chest..UM?! We were told this 4 days ago! Why are we always going in circles?!A while later after he ran his tests, we noticed that her heart medicine IV was unattached from the IV stand and laying on the table beside my grandmother. We thought there was a mistake, because weve never seen a nurse just lay a bag of medicine on a table with the tubes attached to it, almost like it appears that someone forgot to hook it up to my grandmother. So my mother and I walked out to the nurses station to calmly inquire about this. A blonde nurse with a NASTY attitude wouldnt even look up from her paperwork as we asked her about the heart medicine...she rolled her eyes a bit and said Makila is your nurse.....shes very good at what she does....shes been doing this for years, you know with a dismissive tone, like shes so above being asked such ridiculous questions.Nope..STILL NOT DONE! Today, Physical Therapy visited my grandmothers room, as they do every morning, and stood next to her bed and said Okay...get up. --- WHAT?! Like I said earlier in this review, she cant even sit up on her own. Shes BEYOND weak and frail, shes roughly 83 pounds and Im sure that number is shrinking due to her loss of muscle due to being the bed for days. Im LIVID right now and at a loss for words over this hospital.
On July 8th at 5:30 AM I drove my daughter to Crittenton Hospital because she was in labor. I drove into the emergency area, my daughter got out of the car and I watched her walk into the hospital then turn around and come back because she was told that this emergency area was closed...go to the main entrance. Upon arriving at the door there was no one there to greet you or to provide a wheelchair. My daughter went to admitting and (while laboring) had to answer all of the questions that she had previously answered while pre-registering. After this, we were directed to walk down the hall and take the elevators to labor and delivery..again, no assistance or wheelchair. Upstairs, we walked to the first entrance which was closed and had to walk down the hallway to find the right place. I was not allowed to sit in the waiting room because it is only open between the hours of 6 until 9. Her labor was quite long and as the evening progressed I asked where I could get a sandwich, I didnt want to leave the hospital. There is NO place to get anything other than a vending machine full of candy and coffee in a break room with no chairs. Again, I could not go into the waiting room because it was closed. The staff was absolutely wonderful. I asked where they ate and was told that they had to bring food from home. This is absolutely ridiculous!! With all of the competition the hospitals face in the Metro Detroit area one would think there would be better treatment. I sent an email to the hospital but received no response, indicative of their concern.
About a week or so ago, I was here, and this has been weighing on my mind for a while. In the ER, I had a nurse named Reba, short for Rebecca. She seemed very cold, and very negative about her job the entire time. A woman came in to the ER screaming in pain. And Reba, became so agitated, she says to another nurse right outside my room, whats with all that racket? in a very nasty, condescending tone. Another nurse explains she hurt her wrist, which is deformed. The whole time this woman is screaming in pain, and I watched the ER nurse show no sympathy or empathy to the pain she could be in, but just annoyance.I was Rebas patient in the ER, she was also very cold towards me, and seem extremely annoyed. If she doesnt like her job, she should find a new one. The medical field isnt meant for people whos only goal is a paycheck, and not actual care for patients.I had to stay overnight, Mandy was my nurse during the night. She was absolutely fabulous. She was so nice! Soon as she saw me pushed near the room, she seemed happy to see me. I told Roel, who pushed me up there, that she was sooo welcoming. I would hope to have more nurses like Mandy if its ever necessary.(Roel was also a really nice guy, too)
Right before it changed to Acenscion it was Crittonton. My daughter was placed here prior to the name change for no reason except for needing more love. But when I visited I felt like a prisoner.I wasnt allowed to give her anything to write with. She loves to draw and create artwork at times.Shes able to talk, walk, and keep a job.No reason to think anyone should be here!Eloise was closed in Westland. No reason why this hospital or even Havenwyck should remain open.Sad to think others only need love but thought to be a mental issue.Just pawn them off to a facility and medicate them sans finding out whats inside these drugs.
I was there Dec 2001 , massive headache like an explosion in my head b/p was 200 plus /100. I was seen in ER sent home at 1230am with meds for a inner ear infection. I had had a stroke light stroke. mind you I had high b /p overweight and head exploding. I lay in bed heading splitting from Monday morning until Thursday . Finally Husband called Dr Stephan and told him I wasnt any better . Dr Stephan said to bring me to his office . My husband got me up and we went there Dr Stephan said I had a light stroke . Crittenton Hosp and Dr Stephan both knew this and let me lay at home 4 days in extreme pain , NO ONE CARED ENOUGH TO CONTACT ME. My life meant nothing to this suppose to be hospital. MY name Is Dorothy Sobon. I am still living but would not go to that hospital again ever.
Horrible experience, seen last Saturday, do not go there people. Drive extra few miles to beaumont. There is a reason they have 3 stars. I am a nurse and had to tell them what to do for me? Thats nonsense. 3 other family members have felt same way. You would think they had standards. And yes lots of unprofessional workers there, laughing, not too serious. And please no reason to respond. I have been seen twice now at troy Beaumont, even staff here says too bad you went there.
THERE BILLING IS A NIGHTMARE. I have now received two bills that my insurance should cover because of clerical errors. The first one they put on my labor inpatient and outpatient.... the second they did not indicate that my daughter was my daughter. It was super weird. I had to spend hours fighting alongside my insurance company. It was there mistakes but they were total jerks. STAR AWAY.
Terrible ER treatment and poor allowances for patient advocacy (even during COVID).My 92 year old mother had a fall today and had a contusion on her head and a potential separated shoulder. The ambulance brought her to Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital.I asked the hospital to allow me to go in the ER room with her since she is 92. They said she was answering questions adequately and would not allow me back.A nurse came out to tell me as well as the nursing supervisor Daniel Konja who reiterated the statement “I don’t make the rules”.The hospital could easily enable virtual connections to patients in the ER to allow us to be sure that seniors (or anyone who could use help) get the help they need and are answering questions correctly. My mom can’t use her cell phone. My mom said she didn’t want her hearing aids because they were “feeding back” so they sent them out to me in a specimen bottle to show me the feedback, to which I told them they’ll feedback since they are in a bottle. It’s as if they had never experienced hearing aids before. I should have gone to Troy Beaumont.
I want to share my recent experience at Crittenton Hospital where I attended for a lung biopsy with Dr. Littrup who established the Cryoablation Program there.I have been in the healthcare system for more than twenty years and have had care from numerous doctors. In fact, I met Dr. Littrup years ago at Karmanos Cancer Centre and was disappointed to hear of his departure. My experience with him at Crittenton Hospital was very positive from start to finish. His competence and confidence as a doctor are undeniable and I was immediately put at ease. I was facing potential complications from the procedure I was undergoing but he accomplished it without a hitch. And all along the way, he was personable, patient and thorough. He has a strong team along with Colleen Ellis, Nurse Practitioner, and Sharon James, Nurse Navigator.I now have to undergo further treatment and I will without a doubt be returning to Dr. Littrup. In my humble view, the loss is Karmanos and Crittenton Hospital has gained a huge asset.
I was born here and Ive came here ever since for varying emergencies and situations. I visited friends and family here as well. not every experience can be the best when you have to go to a hospital but I truly feel that my experience is here have been fine if not great! If youre in the area and need to visit a hospital, I think this is the best one!
I was recently admitted to Crittenden hospital for a life threatening illness. The staff were professional and kind. Each physician took the time explain each test and procedure and answer any questions I had. The nurses were friendly and efficient. I highly recommend this hospital. So many times we only see reviews when someone has a bad experience. Crittendens staff were exemplary!
My son just went to crittenton for a major anxiety attack, the nurse told him ,his anxiety is all his own fault and he is overreacting. The dr. Dishcarged him in the middle of an anxiety attack. What kind of place is this. Talk about judgmental and condescending. My sister told me not to go there and now i understand why.
This is a horrible hospital. it is very cold and the staff are uncaring. it felt like nazi germany in there. I hated it. and will never return if I can help it. St. Joes in Pontiac is one of the most loving and caring hospitals in Michigan.when i showed up at crittendon I was in labor and the nurse told me she was not impressed and sent me home. the labor unit wants you to wait til it is time to push before you show up to deliver. Very cold place, avoid it like the plague. I gave birth at St. Joes and also at Crittendon, St. Joes is far more humane and warm and caring. CRITTENDON is a cold unfeeling hell hole. legally my name is heather ledgerwood just so they cant remove my comment based on my user name. and please do not send me a number to call, I have no interest.
I would like to share Crittentons Defining Moment - professionalism of staff. On July 23rd, I accompanied my daughter to Crittenton for outpatient surgery. Our first point of contact was an extremely surly receptionist. My daughter inquired as to whether or not she was in the correct location. The receptionist said, I dont know, I need a name. Yes, go sit down, someone will get you. Next, the registrar processed my daughter and she was soon called to pre-op. She returned with her pre-op nurse when my daughter informed the nurse that the city in her address was incorrect. The pre-op nurse took the form to the registrar who rather indignantly proclained that the computer recognized area codes not zip codes. When asked if that would be a problem with billing, the registrar exasperatedly snatched the form from the nurses hand and agreed to correct the city. Next, I am called back to be with my daughter. This was not her first surgery, but she wass concerned that it will not be her last and began to tear up. At that point, nurse Ellen enters the room and while walking Lauren to the surgery exclaimed, Why do I get all the unbrave ones! I wanted to verbally chastise her then and there for her self-centered ignorant comment! She obviously did not know my daughters medical history. To make my daughter feel as if she owed this nurse an appology for tearing up is inexcusable. Her post op nurse was rude and just going through the motions as well. My daughter could not get out soon enough. There is no excuse for such across the board discourtesy. At a medical institution, it should be about the patient. So here is my Defining Moment, Crittenton, you fail on professionalism and compassion.

2022-03-24First experience here, waited about 4 hours to get an ER X-ray of my foot where they told me it wasn’t broken. Played sports for 3 months on a broken foot before I saw a specialist, where they told me there were fractures. I don’t judge off one visit though.Second visit was quicker for an X-Ray but lady was rude and unprofessional. Results never got sent to my doctor and when I called for an update, the same lady made a another sarcastic comment to me for absolutely no reason. Hope I do not have to return here.

2022-04-09Horrible experience. I would highly suggest not going here. Told I wasn’t pregnant and didn’t have any infections but elevated liver enzymes. Told to come back next day for ultrasound. Went home in extreme pain and came back the next morning. Sent to walk around everywhere and was told my doctor didn’t call in ultrasound and I needed to schedule it. Went to another ER found out I had multiple infections and am pregnant. No liver enzymes were found next morning at other er. I under stand the pregnancy but I think they should have been able to properly diagnose my kidney infection. I don’t know if my samples were switched but even being told to come back and not taken, extremely unprofessional. I did not feel safe or cared for going here. This is sad.

2022-02-17Reba, a charge nurse in ER is non compassionate, Rude, and makes your experience miserable. My niece was going through an emotional miscarriage 3 years ago and Reba made her feel like garbage. Literally had Zero compassion and was extremely rough on her. Yesterday, years later my 80 year old Father was taken to ER, we were having great service and then everything changed when this same nurse Reba came on the scene. She is arrogant and has no compassion. I felt sick that she was still there, and to top it off the Charge Nurse. I pray no one else has to get this treatment, Ascension needs to do better in choosing Nurses. You go to be cared for, not to leave feeling beat up.

2022-04-03HelloOn Jan 31 I had a triple bypass at ascension hospital. I was really impressed by all of the information that I was given before the procedure including from the surgery team and the hospital. After my surgery I spent six days in recovery and was served by an outstanding team of nurses who was professional and caring who made sure I was getting the best care possible even though I could tell they were having some staffing issues. The sept head doctor made rounds every day and made sure I was getting the best care. A few weeks later I enrolled in rehab at the hospital and they have been great! Thank you for a new lease on life.Mark Van Curen

2022-05-17Worst care I have ever received in a hospital! My nurse was rude and had no respect for me what so ever. When your feet are swollen double the size they are supposed to be there IS an issue. She tried to tell me they were not swollen and were fine. She was totally unbelievable. She constantly talked down to me and was just rude and uncaring. She was the worst nurse I have ever had in my life. You could be laying in the bed dead forhours before anyone even noticed. Nobody checks on you. The food is so disgusting I had to have food brought in. If you want to survive get out of there.

2022-06-04I had the best experience with this hospital over the multiple hospitals Ive been to in my area. They treated me like a queen and I am so thankful for each and every person who works on the surgical floor. Everyone was very professional and kind. I dont think words can express the gratitude I have for them. I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs care in the area. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

2022-01-18Prior to Covid APR was a 5 Star hospital. But now I would urge you to go anywhere else!Im the caregiver, advocate, and fiancee of a blind and disabled woman with multiple life threatening health issues whose been coming to APR for nearly two years. But the quality of care and quality of SOME of the staff has really fallen off. Despite being a caregiver and advocate with relevant information about my fiancees conditions; ER Staff have twice refused me access when assessing her due to Covid Protocols, failed to keep me updated or notify me when they discharged her; one doctor misdiagnosed her heart attack; nursing staff rufused her food and water for 24 hours because a doctor forgot to specify her dietary needs; and a charge nurse tried to have security remove me for respectfully advocating and asking to speak with an administrator about these issues. Like many places Staff are overworked, undersupported, and stressed. My mother was a nurse, I respect them all for their hard work and dedication but I draw the line when their actions prevent me from doing my job or endanger her health or safety. Just a lesson 1 bad employee can ruin the hard work and dedication of the other 100 great ones. We will not be coming back here.

2021-12-09I honestly could not recommend this place any less. From the time my wife and I walked through the door to the surgical center we were greeted with nothing but rude or disrespectful attitudes and people. The lady at the counter acted as if she was a drill sergeant barking orders at my wife from the moment we walked in. And the other lady that has you fill out paperwork was nothing but rude to us and every other person she dealt with. She was so lazy she stayed in her little office and yelled out names as she needed them to come to her. I couldn’t even get a single person in the cafeteria to wait on me as I stood in line to get some food while waiting for my wife to get out of surgery. The most rude and disrespectful thing I noticed there is all but one surgeon came to the family members and discussed the entire procedure and health issues out in the lobby in front of everybody! They must not know about hipaa laws here? My wife’s surgery was slotted for 10:30am but she didn’t get in u til 12:15. Not a single doctor or staff member came to keep us informed of any delays. They just let you sit and wonder. We should have walked out of there and went to a better hospital. I just pray her surgery was a successful one, if not it’s going to be a long road of legal battles. I do not care how sick or injured I am, I will never be going back to this hospital.

2022-03-23I was referred here by my doctor for a procedure I needed performed. The doctor who performed the procedure was ancient and didn’t seem to know what he was doing. He made the procedure painful and spent most of the procedure complaining to the staff assisting him that things weren’t set up properly in the procedure room. A sample was taken during the procedure and was supposed to be sent to the lab for testing. The results of the procedure were sent to my doctor, but the lab results of the sample taken were never sent to my doctor and they do not appear in my patient portal. I called the department to get the results and they said they couldn’t help me, I needed to call the medical records department. The medical records department can only help me if I go in person to request the results and I have to pay to have them released to me for personal use, or I have to get my doctor to request the records by fax.Either the labs were never performed and that’s why the results don’t show up in my patient portal and they weren’t sent to my doctor as requested, or the hospital is holding my information hostage. So, I went through a painful procedure for nothing.Of course there is no one to complain to about this situation, no one you can contact to get answers about why the labs weren’t performed or why the results weren’t sent to the ordering doctor and posted on my patient portal. I would not recommend this hospital, I will always request all procedures be done at Beaumont hospitals going forward.

2022-05-22My husband is in the hospital. They are short staffed and I understand this but care is not what it used to be. Hes on the 6th floor where they get the last food delivery and it is barely warm. His night time nurse assistance yelled at him everytime he set off the alarm in his bed at night. He has no control over that. He has to wait for any help getting up ..hes on fall protocol. He was breathing rough and raggedly and none was helping him. He and others had no TV for the past few days (,it is on now,). It has been a very unpleasant experience
