So far so good.. Dr lucas-perry is amazing, and i cant remember her dental assistants name, and i feel so bad because she was as amazing as dr lucas-perry.. but they made me feel so good... i was feeling so scared and they serenaded me while i was being worked on.. and when i cried cause i hated the way it looked after all my teeth were taken out, she hugged me so tight..and assured me im going to be happy when its all over.. means the world to me.. I know this is the beginning stage.. and its so hard to see what the end is going to be, but i pray its going to be as amazing as they say..Im so sorry i cried and acted like a big baby!!! and not remembering the assistants name.. lots going on that day..
Great dentist overall, they are polite and helpful with explaining stuff. BUT from my experience at least (Ive had this happen twice now) if you have even SLIGHTLY sensitive gums dont go to this dentist to get a cap on a tooth done you will be in horrible pain for 2 weeks straight and told to just rotate Ibproufen and Tylenol with an antibiotic...which doesnt do a single thing, neither of those hardly lighten the pain. So definitely wouldnt suggest that. But otherwise for anything else great dentist. Their hours are a little messy but what dentist isnt at this point
Been in the Army 7 years. Army took care of a lot of issues for me that this place believed all needed to be redone because they had better technology. Despite having no discomfort or any pain at all, they insisted to get me in ASAP. So I let them redo some fillings in October. Since then, Ive been experiencing excruciating pain that I was told to be perfectly normal even a month later. I had extreme sensativeity in one side of my mouth to anything hot or cold, even the air hitting my teeth. I even felt my bite was abnormal.Being active duty military, our coverage is supposed to be 100% free, yet I was constantly running into issues with Aspen attempting to bill me.I left this dentist and took my issues over to clarkston family dental and they quickly fixed the fillings done by Aspen. They drilled them out properley so that my bite was normalized and my pain would be reduced. They also reduced the sensitivity I was experiencing. All for no charge. It was brought to my attention that Aspen might have intentionally been doing half baked procedures in order to keep my business. Very shady business practices.
I received excellent service from the time that I entered, to the end of my visit. Everyone was knowledgeable, professional, and made every effort to make sure that I was comfortable, and taken care of in a timely manner. The facility was immaculate. I highly recommend Aspen Dental at this location.
Came here after my original dentist office closed. They told me I had 3 cavities and gingivitis and argued with me about how this could happen. Then they made me sit down with a sales consultant and go over my treatment plan that was thousands of dollars. They even added Invisalign to the treatment plan after I told them no. I told them I just wanted my teeth cleaned and they said it would be unethical to clean my teeth unless I follow their treatment plan. I went to a different dentist today and they said I had no cavities or gingivitis. Aspen dental is just looking for money. Do not go here.
I called to set up appointment & i was able to get in the next day. Due to the fact that 2 of my front teeth chipped as well as a couple of broken teeth in back, i needed to get my teeth fixed. At least the 2 front teeth.I neglected myself for the last few years because my mom fell ill & i needed to take care of her. I should say, i wanted to take care of her.I dont necessarily like going to the dentist, but i faithfully went every 6 months for teeth cleaning.I was very pleased with the entire staff. I felt comfortable there. I was told exactly what was needed to get my smile back. They took full x-ray of my teeth. When i say full x-ray, i mean they made sure they got every detail of my teeth.Very pleased to say, i will be scheduling the work needed at Aspen Dental
It had been a while since my last dental visit and I had a lot of anxiety, but the staff was wonderful every visit I had. I ended up going in because I had a chipped molar, and at my first visit I was surprised that all they did was xrays and the first round of cleaning, but they scheduled all my remaining appointments with me for the next two weeks and went over in detail everything I would be paying for and how my insurance was being billed.Dr. Joseph is wonderful and truly cares about making sure you are comfortable during the procedures, which was my biggest worry and area of anxiety. All the staff is so friendly and helpful, it was such a pleasant experience through filling my chipped molar, cavities, and a crown. I never thought I would EVER say that about a dentists office, but its true! I did have soreness for a few weeks throughout the appointments, but it has subsided and honestly, was probably more so due to the amount of time it had been since my last appointment and all the work that needed to be done. The cavity I had on the front of my teeth was blended so well that I cant even tell its there! And they polished an old cavity I had that was starting to stain and made me proud of my smile again. I would definitely recommend Aspen Dental and ask for Dr. Joseph!
Everyone I came in contact with was lovely and professional. The most comprehensive set of scans and X-rays Ive had! On this initial exam, I thought I would get my teeth cleaned as part of the appointment, but I learned that it wouldnt be part of the service for that day. Ive never started at a dentist where this wasnt the case, but before leaving, I scheduled a cleaning for another day. The Invisalign sales pitch was a little much for a very first appointment, however and that was a bit off-putting. I did check the box that I was interested, yes, but at my check out, there was the well, we have a special that ends at the end of the month... stuff that often feels sales-y for doctors office. Will update as necessary.
I was very impressed by the professional and kind people that work at the Lake Orion office. Every one of them put me at ease (which doesnt happen in dental offices for me). They were gentle and explained everything clearly. They got me in the same day and were very accommodating about how quickly they could get me back in. They dont take my insurance so THATS a problem (thus the 4 stars), but I may pay out of pocket for the smaller work just because I really liked them.
Had a great experience! The staff was very nice and listened to and addressed all of my concerns. I got a filling replaced and the dentist was very patient and understanding of my resistance to getting the local anesthetic injection. Really appreciated their kindness and willingness to work with me! Will continue to go back.
This place was absolutely amazing! I was very, very nervous about going to the dentist. I absolutely hate going. However, from the time I walked thru the door at Aspen I felt completely comfortable. starting with Mathias at the front desk, it was really busy and he was absolutely amazing at getting to everybody and super friendly. Diana the DA was so sweet and super comforting she explained what was happening as she was doing it and was so kind. Julian the hygienist was very gentle with me and addressed all my concerns. Dr. Joseph was very patient with me and answered all my questions without making me feel like I was asking stupid questions. finally Lisa the office manager, all I can say is WOW she was the absolute best!! I would HIGHLY recommend this office if you are looking for a kind, patient Dentist!
I had a very enjoyable, and professional experience at Aspen dental, in Orion township. I dealt with Mathias, Shanada, Julian, and Lisa. They were all very friendly and helpful. I immediately liked the dentist, Dr. Joseph, he made me feel like I was in confident hands and was very personable. I would definitely recommend this office.
I have really bad anxiety when it comes to the dentist because of past experiences with them. Today I had some xrays done and also an evaluation of my teeth done and the ladies that took my xrays were so kind and caring and patient with me. The dentist was also very nice and explained everything to me in a way that I could understand without all the medical terms that I have no clue as to what the meaning of them is. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing dental work.
I had Dr. Joseph he is by far one of the best dentists I have gone to! He took his time to not rush and listened to every question and concern I had. The procedure was completely painless. Alyssa at the front desk was super sweet and was able to help getting me the lowest cost for the procedure. I highly recommend Aspen Dental in Lake Orion.
Fantastic, very service-oriented, accommodating, and detailed oriented.I went this morning because my tooth hurt. The moment I walk in, Mathias at the front des got all my information. He went above and beyond to prepare the discounts I needed to have all the advantages of going to Aspen dental at the lowest cost possible. Then I went in for X-Rays. Julian was very attentive and explained with a lot of details about what was going on. When Dr. Joseph saw me, he knew what was going on and presented all the alternatives I had to make the right decision. Then Lisa, Aspens office manager, explained the choice of cost and the options I had. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. I am going back in two days to continue with my treatment, but if you think of a dental place to go, do not hesitate and go to Aspen dental in Lake Orion (Auburn Hills). I highly recommended
Excellent place to visit for dental work. The staff is so nice and made me feel welcome as soon as I walked in. My hygienist, Julian, was awesome, so nice. Explained everything and was very gentle. This is the first place I have visited where my mouth was not very sore after my cleaning. The dentist was very nice and had multiple options for me to choose from. I have a few dental issues to take care of and received all the help I needed to decide my best course of action. Keep up the great work. This experience made going to the dentist easy and helpful. Thank you so much for being so caring.
A very customer focused dental clinic. Very good equipment especially the scanning tool. The staff are very flexible and friendly. The dental hygienist is the most gentle hygienist I have ever experienced. He cleaned up my teeth little to no blood flooding my mouth. The best so far.
EXTREMELY incompetent team. For one unfinished and unnecessary crown, I went through three visits, two dentists (the first one panicked & knew she screwed up my tooth bad so decided to step off), numerous molds, unnecessary large amount of my tooth taken out, two failed temporary crowns (premature failure), & numerous attempts with new crowns, I left with an unfinished exposed tooth. The new establishment I found finished Aspen’s subpar job within one visit!IMPORTANT NOTE: Upon leaving the office with an incomplete tooth, the dentist with an attitude TRIED to keep me there with inaccurate legal information. Insisting by law, I was obligated to let them complete the job they started. If you would like to be a learning platform for those graduated at the bottom of their class in dental school trying to prove themselves, or grown up children playing pretend, this is the perfect place!
Staff was great, I went during the free x ray for new patients. They told me I needed 2 fillings for cavities and 2 wisdom teeth removed. After visiting another dentist I was told that removing the wisdom teeth would result in permanent nerve damage and I have no cavities. I saw other similar reviews so definitely be careful
Every single time my Wife deals with this Aspen she has nothing but problems. The unprofessionalism of not only the employees - but their lead dentist is scary. I would NOT recommend them to anyone, not even if it was free. We drive over an hour to a different Aspen to get the proper care and treatment we pay for.
This is the worst dentist I’ve ever been to. They told me I had cavities that I didn’t have. I had a “cleaning” that was surface level and didn’t actually do any cleaning. They also required pre-payment for services. I decided to not have those services done because I went to another dentist and was told that Aspen told me I had some cavities that I didn’t have. I also had a bad feeling about what they were telling me because when I asked specifically how many cavities I had they gave me a range instead of an exact number (which makes no sense). I requested a refund of what I paid and 3 months later my refund is still not here. This is a company that only cares about profit and it shows. There are some other great dentists in the area so please go elsewhere!
I was happy they could get me in for my cleaning that was 2 months behind schedule because of Covid-19. However, I wish they would’ve told me when I made the appointment that the doctor/dentist wouldn’t be there!!! It was nice getting my teeth cleaned, but wish I could’ve got the full exam and x-rays. My husband went to a different dentist the next day & got a full exam like you normally do with cleanings. My daughter is at a pediatric dentist as I type this and will be getting x-rays and exam also. I also realized I never got a goodie bag with a toothbrush, etc after I saw my husband’s from his appointment. I hope they bill my insurance company accordingly and will follow up as I’ve had major billing issues in the past.
I have a dental abscess from a prior injury that has been on-going for a couple years now. Every dentist I’ve visited I have felt rushed and like a number. From the moment I called Aspen Dental I felt like was a patient and an important one at that. They were more thorough than any other dentist when I comes to my exams and explanation. Every single staff member was wonderful, in particular Jack and Julian stuck out. Their bedside manners are reassuring and comforting and their knowledge is apparent. I didn’t have enough money for my procedure and they helped me apply for a couple financing option, and brought my bill down almost 50% between their discount and my dental card. Kim the officer manager is super sweet and helpful. She explained everything in detail, and went above and beyond to help me. They even drained my dental abcess for free. That is something I was NOT expecting and I am enormously grateful for. I’m looking forward to working with Aspen Dental for further treatment of my dental health. I’d give more stars if I could!
I am really not happy. I made an emergency appointment after they started opening back up from Covid. They scheduled me and gave me a number to call if there were any issues. I never got a confirmation email or anything, so I called the day of the appointment just to verify which office I was going to for a Root Canal, and they didn’t even have me on the calendar. I wasted a PTO day and my time because Aspen couldn’t make a simple appointment. I have constant jaw pain and part of the tooth missing. The staff is nice, but it doesn’t help the fact they have messed up. Also, during my regular appointments, they pushed expensive products like their toothbrushes on me. It also appears I have been over-billed by my insurance. I have family moving down here, a brother at OU and my fiancé who will never give this company their business after this mistake. As soon as I get this Root Canal done, I am taking my business elsewhere. Highly disappointed. Another thing I never touched on was that they also took me aside in an office to discuss payment. I was surprised that they were so concerned about if I was able to afford everything. I understand that they must have people who cannot, but I don’t think it was fair to judge me on my appearance and make the assumption that I couldn’t pay for everything.Update 7/14/2020:I have had part of my root canal completed and I asked before I left 3 times if I owed anything for the cost of the treatment that day. I was instructed to contact Lisa about the overbilling and she told me unless I was caught up to date with my billing and all of my treatment has been completed, I wasn’t entitled to a refund. I am frustrated because I would’ve even accepted a credit towards my remaining treatment. It was billing I had already paid in full that I was requesting funds back for. It shouldn’t matter if I have remaining treatment or a $50 bill to pay, if I’m owed $70 it should be no problem to handle my future balance.
My experience at the Lake Orion office was wonderful. The staff warmly greeted me. The dental x-rays taken were very extensive, more than what I had had at a private dental office. The exam was comprehensive too. I fully understood my treatment plan. My hygienist, Julian, was thorough and explained everything fully. I felt like I was in good hands. Aspen in Lake Orion is now MY dentist.
Had my first cleaning August 2020, and I only switched due to my dentist retirement. 3 weeks after my cleaning perfect bill of health aspen dentist said, today 9.17 20 my crown fell out eating lunch with my 8 year old, I called aspen in auburn hills michigan and was told even though having a big whole in my mouth they had appts booked up ans to remain in my car ans they would work me in that was at 330pm, at 6pm still in my car waiting for the okay to come in they cloed and never called or said anything, I have found a new dentist in lake orion and they got me in at 630pm same day since having a hole in my mouth is dangerous tooth repaired my family and I, as well as 11 people I referred have canceled and are going to a dentist not a money hungry business i have great insurance and prepaid for a service now i have to call to get a refund went to another dentist same day new patient and paid 11 dollars for a repair aspen wanted 49 and then said wait and closed the office I have no dental issues first emergency and last visit to this poor excuse for Custer service. I see why in 2012 they were sued, so i was reading in the news.
I had a great experience at Aspen Dental. The staff was polite, pleasant. I felt very nervous going to the dentist. So nervous my blood pressure was elevated. They were very compassionate and reassuring to help relieve my nervousness. I have recommended Aspen to people ans will continue.
I am 39 weeks pregnant and went in for a teeth cleaning. They wanted to do some x-rays which they said is safe but when I personally made the decision to decline the X-rays while pregnant, they were understanding of my situation and proceeded with my teeth cleaning. I always feel great after getting my teeth cleaned. They are very thorough and do a great job!
Aspen is so much better then my old dentist. When I was done with my previous dentist my gums were swollen and painful from my cleaning and here I walk away pain free and not swollen. I love how professional and curtious the staff is. Here is not about the money like my previous dentist.
Pre-pandemic I had 2 morlars that needed worked on; one tooth that needed 2 fillings and another that needed to be re-drilled and filled due to a previous poor dental work. I paid around $550 in advance for the work that I needed. I was unable to get the help I needed because I have bad reactions to numbing injections, and have had all my previous dental work done with nitris oxide, which Aspen does not offer, for some reason. I was told they could not complete the work on my teeth because the areas that needed work were too close to nerves. They told me to go to a doctor and find out which numbing agents I could safely be injected with. Then the pandemic happened and my dental work was put off until July. When I came in, they worked on 2 of my teeth that had cavities that were not causing me problems. They were not clear with me about what they intended to do, and when I stopped them and asked them to please focus on the teeth that still had cavities and were still causing me pain, they refused because its not in your plan of care. They then proceeded to tell me that they had fixed my 2 problem teeth, and they were just sensitive because of the new fillings (they never filled the teeth, so I dont know how that is possible). I was also charged for the work they didnt tell me they were doing and which I did not want, need or ask for, but never actually finished fixing the proble teeth I had paid to fix. So I am out around $700, and still having problems with my teeth. Save yourself from being gaslit, and extorted. Find another dentist.
All of the staff at the Lake Orion location are wonderful. They always make me feel comfortable. I had my teeth cleaned yesterday and LaVal explained what he was doing and was I doing ok. I avoided going to the dentist for years. Im glad I started going to Aspen. I would recommend them to anyone.
After calling numerous places in the area I got ahold of Kristen and she set me up with an appointment. I received my first full set of X-rays for free and I had to come back the following day to have a molar removed. Dr Mathews was the one that removed it for me and she was absolutely wonderful. Kim that is in charge of consultation is one of the kindest and most sincere people I’ve come across while dealing with dentist. Where I live I actually have a closer Aspen Dental that I could go to for cleanings and such but I’d much rather take the extra few minutes to drive to this location. Every person on the staff is polite and informative. Can’t wait to get back in the chair in January for my cleaning! Happy holidays!
Ive been without my teeth for a year and I came to Aspen after calling the Aspen office. Before I came I spoke with a woman on the phone at Aspen. I explained to her that I dont have dental insurance and my credit is bad and Im on a fixed income. The woman assured me that they have programs for people like me. I then come in only to have my credit ran twice and my already low credit score becoming even lower. Being denied my only option is paying four easy payments of 700 dollars. Oh my gosh, at that price Ill have to give up eating and in that case I wouldnt need the teeth at all.I do appreciate the kindness of the staff, they dont make the rules on financing.
Worst experience ever. made an appointment for a root canal only to figure out they dont do root canals and that they would have me referred to someplace else and then they wanted me to come back so they could sell me a crown. in the meantime I asked a simple question, can you pull tooth? they said no that they didnt have time to do that. the inexperienced doctor complained she was working through her lunch and didnt have the time to even do that. they only called me in to bill my insurance. stay away!
Its been good up until my last appointment. They told me I had to have Xrays even though my insurance only covers it every other year and I just had them done last year. I declined but they needed to consult with the dentist before taking it off the bill. They also told me I needed a fluoride treatment-Im 52 years old! Of course my insurance doesnt cover that. Just be careful at this dentist: they will push you to get procedures done. You need to do your own research so youll know what you need and dont necessarily need before agreeing to any procedures that theyre pushing.
I walked in without an appointment from out of state, and it was no problem. They saw me within just a few minutes. I was there to see if they could fix my lower denture. Unfortunately it was not salvageable. I thought Id be going home without a bottom denture since I was leaving in just over a week, but they said no problem. They did a fitting that very day, worked to get clarification of my out of state insurance, and signed us up for Care Credit all on that very first visit! Not only will I be going home with a brand new lower denture, but Ill be getting the upper to go with it! Dr. Shackelford is amazing! Getting a proper fit on dentures is of utmost importance, but when I expressed my concerns about the aesthetics of the new dentures, she was very sympathetic. She took the time to make some adjustments I had requested, and then she brought the lab tech in to talk to me to get a better idea of my requests!! What an amazing place! Entire staff is over the top! Im looking forward to following up with the Aspen Dental in Idaho Falls, and that says a lot, since its the closest one to my home which is two hours away! You rock Aspen Dental!
From the minute I walked in the door until I walked back out every single person in that office was kind friendly professional and made me feel calm and comfortable all the while I was there. They work well together as a team making each step of the treatment feel seamless they have so much confidence and skill you cant help but relax that is saying a lot because I have had terrible experiences at other dentists which caused me so much pain and fear I was terrified to go back Not with this group Im happy to go back and will encourage my family and friends especially those also terrified of the dentist to go to this particular office. Thanks to all of you at Aspen Dental I look forward to seeing you again tommorow
Im dissatisfied with the delay in receiving my dentures. I shouldnt have to make four trips to get them. A new way of procedure needs to be put in place acknowledging the patients time. The new office manager with brown hair has a nasty attitude and shouldnt come in contact with the patients or their family. Ive had to restrain my daughter from confronting her when she said we should go somewhere else. My daughter said shell teach her customer service because she needs to learn how to talk to people. Especially with her attitude and disrespect, I wont recommended Aspen. I recommend she be replaced with someone who realizes theyre working in customer service where being courteous and cordial is mandatory. The receptionist with the braids that wears glasses, the hygienists / assistants, and dentists are very polite.I would consider returning to Aspen once these changes have been made.
It was my first visit and was quite satisfied. Each person I dealt with from the dental assistant to the hygienist to the dentist to the office manager were professional, customer friendly, and answered all my questions. I would definitely recommend the Lake Orion Aspen office for care.
I have had an amazing experience so far! This is the first time I have ever been to a dentist and their first and for most concern is definitely for the patients health and happiness! The patient definitely come first and for most to them, its not all about money! Everyone of the staff were super nice and sweet and truly concerned about my personal concerns!
I came to Aspen Dental as a new patient and got the free exam, consultation and xrays because of the special they had. Overall I had a good experience. The facility is beautiful and everything is clean. Everyone was friendly and Dr. Matthews was very kind and welcoming. The xrays were a little uncomfortable, but thats pretty common anywhere you go. They were very thorough in their treatment plan based on my needs. The consultation at the end could have been better since I felt that I was inconveniencing the lady with my questions. I asked her to go through what each procedure was on my treatment plan and asked her about insurance. She seemed very abrupt with her answers and I wish she would have been more thorough in explaining everything. I also wish she had given me options and counseling on insurance plans they accept since I was led to believe Aspen could do that from their website. Besides that, I had a great experience. I also appreciate how prompt they were in giving me a copy of my xrays.
First time at Aspen Dental and overall I was very impressed with their entire company. I was treated very well from when I first came in to their lobby to the sit down at the end to explain everything that happened during the examination. Very professional but at the same time, friendly. I did not feel rushed and all my questions were answered.
I drove nearly an hour, took a day off of work to receive a very painful x-ray and a dental exam. My wife was told, when she called to set up my appointment, that my insurance was accepted at Aspen Dental. It was not. The dental hygienist and the office manager, yes this not a dentists office it is a corporate front, tried to upsell me. When I pointed out I had no intention of paying over 3,000 dollars for a glorified cleaning, I was told that Aspen had a payment plan. This was a very unpleasant experience and a painful one as well. The digital x-ray sensor did not fit in my mouth. That did not stop the technician from ramming it in and then telling me that it was my fault it did not fit.Bottom line, go anywhere else but here!
Aspen Dental was recommended to me, after 3 attempt with different dentist offices, my first visit was positive and enjoying they answered all my concerns and explained everything clearly. Their step by step process was welcoming never felt like it was just there job they are very comforting group of people from start to finish.
I was very impresed with the whole staff at Aspen Dental. Very professional, yet friendly and warm. They took the time to explain everything that was being done, and what needed to be done in the near future. I would not hesitate to return for my teeth cleaning and more. From the Receptionist, Office Manager, Hygenist, Assistants and Associate Dentist you are Awesome. Thank you for making my experience a Pleasant one.May God Bless you all.Thank you again.
Not happy with Aspen and I will not return. Was left sitting for an hour before taken back and having a tech read my chart wrong. If I hadn’t spoken up, I would have been charged for X-rays I didn’t need. After a 15 minute checkup, I was on my way out the door. Needless to say, I was very upset. The dr. checking me was very apologetic. I know unforeseen things happen and if I had to wait 15 minutes or even 30 minutes in extreme cases, but an hour? I find that totally unacceptable. What would have happened if I was an hour late? Maybe if somebody had come out and explained why the wait, I could have rescheduled or chosen to wait.
This place is a joke. They scam you out of money. They bill you even after everything was covered by insurance. They messed up my teeth so bad I have a huge gap in between my molars. Never finished my boyfriends crowns and still charged him! They took money out of my account and it was never authorized. I havent seen in months and my account was up to date. Do not use them! Worst mistake... Should have done more research.
First off, Im not sure why there are so many good reviews. My first and only dental visit here was very confusing. This seems to be one of the few offices that are offered through my new insurance so I had to leave my previous dentist who I had been with for years. The office is nice and clean but definitely feels like a big dental warehouse where they just process patients. The person who greeted me and showed me from the waiting room explained things to me like I had never been to a dentist before. She said things like “If there is a hygienist available she will look in your mouth….then the dentist will come and look in your mouth too…” Yeah, I get it, that’s actually EXACTLY what I expected. They made a big deal that I couldnt get x-rays because Im pregnant and brought it up multiple times, almost making me feel like my visit is just a waste of time. She even recommended I leave and come back when I’m not pregnant so I could get x-rays. She made it seem like they wouldnt know what to do with me if I couldnt get x-rays, saying things like “Well, this won’t be a FULL exam.” After I was adamant about staying for a cleaning, my primary reason for being there, she made it seem like they would have to move mountains in order for me to see a hygienist. I was finally seen to a chair and was granted a cleaning by the hygienist. The cleaning was pleasant and somewhat thorough but the polishing at the end was done with an electric toothbrush. An. Electric. Toothbrush. Not even one as nice as the one I use at home. Also she didnt floss me.When I finally saw the dentist, she barely looked at my teeth. She just sat and chatted casually. Didnt check for cavities or anything! Then came my time with the office manager. She assumed I didnt have insurance (as I think this establishment is primarily for folks without insurance). When I corrected her, it took them a while to look up my insurance information and coverage. Mind you, I provided ALL of that information in my New Patient Form that I completed prior to my visit. It ended up being $10 - a $5 copay for the cleaning and a $5 copay for seeing the dentist.I will absolutely not go back. I dont necessarily need a spa-like feel with massaging chairs and paraffin waxing during my cleaning like my previous dentist provided, but to go from that to a place like this was definitely a shock.
There seems to have been a recent change in staff. The previous Hygienist and Dentist were excellent. Feedback from todays visit:1. Historically, I have always made it clear that I do NOT want fluoride treatment. During todays visit, upon checking in, I was told that I owe $25. Not overly concerned about $25, I paid, but was never told that this was for fluoride treatment. Once my treatment was done, the Hygienist started to apply something to my teeth. When I asked what it was, he simply said it was a varnish (never mentioned fluoride). Self admittedly, I am oblivious to the different types of dental treatments, so perhaps I should have known that varnish means fluoride? When I spoke to my wife about the $25 co-pay, she told me that this didnt sound right and thought that it could be for fluoride treatment. When I called up and spoke with the office manager, I was informed that it was for fluoride treatment. She admitted that their staff didnt do an adequate job communicating to me, but wasnt able to offer any type of reimbursement. I should have done my due diligence and questioned the $25 charge up front (my bad), but its disappointing that staff never once explained to me that I was getting fluoride treatment.2. Once my cleaning was done, the Hygienist walked me out of the suite. When I asked when I would see the Dentist, he mentioned that I would only see the Dentist during my next visit. When speaking with the manager, she mentioned that it was up to the discretion of the provider (provider being the Dentist, not Hygienist) when I would be examined. Apparently, the Dentist assigned to me wasnt in the office, which is why I wasnt seen? Here is my take on Aspen after speaking with some of the previous staff members and todays visit: There seems to be a lot of turnover. Perhaps providers practice at a large franchise like Aspen fresh out of school to gain experience and $$, only to later start up their own private practices?Do yourself a favor. Avoid this place and find yourself a good private practice.
I will be honest I did enjoy coming here at first, but it wasn’t until recently when I got my wisdom teeth out I ended up being in so much pain, I needed to make another appointment ASAP. The first appointment I made to get it checked out was good they told me everything looked fine & it was healing well...a couple of days go by I was still in excruciating pain I ended up calling back to see if they could get me in & do something about it, but instead of helping me the office manager told me “I’m overreacting & everyone heals differently & that they had a lot of work to do still before they were closing that day & that a doctor would tell me the same thing” I couldn’t believe it here I am in so much pain & they wouldn’t help me. Luckily I found a dentist that was close to my work & was willing to help me even though they were closing soon as well & it turned out to be a dry socket, I was treated by that dentist & im feeling so much better. So I will no longer be using aspen dental for my regular dental care.
From the minute I first called the office and talked to the call center i a blown away. walked into the office. Then when i arrived for my appointment every person i dealt with was extraordinarily pleasant, patient and very informative every step of the way. The Doctor was very informative and busy but did not make me feel rushed and answered all of my question. The office manager wrapped up the appointment thoroughly explaining my cost and financing options. All through the experience i was wondering if I were in a dream. Customer Service is clearly a priority for Aspen Dental.
Aspen Dental is great!!! ... But, I felt a very good patient Dr. Relationship with one doctor at this location. Then when I came in for a scheduled root canal ( the most serious procedure Ive had done, it was a new doctor to me and also to the practice, it made me uncomfortable the whole time, I understand she also needs to work, but how about having her work on new patience untill, at the very least, learns the names of the tools she was using.... Still love this place!
Thank you to Aspen Dental for the very professional, caring and non judmental service I received on my first, recent visit to them. I am one of those people who have avoided the dentist for a couple of reasons. Mostly because the thought of a visit terrified me but also because of the cost. Not only did they make me as comfortable as possible but also help me out with the cost. I would highly recommend them to anyone, especialy those who may have the same concerns I had. Thanks again to Aspen Dentals wonderful team!
This place has some good reviews so maybe I was just unlucky but my experience was not so good. I left during the xrays because the lady clearly didnt know what she was doing. The reception staff were all in the break room talking and not at their desks and the trash bins were overflowing. Maybe the dentists are good but I did not feel comfortable and will be looking for an alternative.
Not going back. Ever. After they messed up my front teeth crowns multiple times (process took about 6 months to finally get done “right”) I still have my gums inflamed after two months of the last appt. The doctor was very sweet though... but I’ve been traumatized by the experience. Use to do perfectly fine with dentists, now not so much.
Well. I drove all the way out to their office to get an idea of what it would cost me to have a set of dentures made. I already have implants placed for the lowers. I just wanted an IDEA. I walked away with NOTHING after a $30 OCS that I didn’t need because I’d had one in January. So THAT happened. I made it clear what I was coming in for I don’t understand why that just couldn’t get done. I didn’t want to be a problem or “make a scene” in the front office since the were busy and it was apparent why I was getting rushed out.
I had a very extensive procedure requiring multiple visits recently at Aspen Dental in the Lake Orion office. I could not be happier with the results. First of all, my dentist, Dr. Shackelford, was very professional, knowledgeable with excellent pain management skills. All the Techs and office staff were likewise very knowledgeable and welcoming especially Shelby. I strongly recommend everyone try Aspen Dental for all your dental needs.
This might be a bit lengthy, but it needs to be said. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the people are nice, but their work leaves a lot to be desired.I was having problems with my top teeth and was told that they were beyond repair and I needed dentures. I took them at their word and ordered the most expensive one because they said they were more natural looking and more comfortable. They are neither. When I went in to have them pulled, there was no nitrous oxide, only novacane. They put a topical on it and left the room for 20 minutes. By the time they returned, it had worn off and adding more didnt help. When they were injecting the novacane, the pain was more than I have ever experienced in my life, yet they seemed completely oblivious to my screams. Usually when you are having a dental procedure, there are 2 people in the room, one doing the work and another working the suction. Yet there was only one person and she alternated between the two, so it took twice as long as it should have..A few days before the procedure, I thought I may have an infection, but I was told I didnt. Yet when they extracted them, they said I did. Which is it? Even though I had an infection, they went ahead with the extractions. They gave me an antibiotic afterward, but it didnt help. I am in extreme pain, I cant eat and can barely talk, yet they say they cant get me in for another 3 days. Am I supposed to live with this until then?Bottom line, they dont seem to know what they are doing and couldnt care less about your pain and discomfort. Why should they? Theyve been paid. The biggest mistake I made was not getting a second opinion. I may still have my natural teeth or at least have a denture that I can wear.I strongly suggest getting a second opinion before letting Aspen Dental do any dental work.
Went to aspen dental to have 6 lower teeth removed and get implants. First they came in and priced everything before doing any work. They set up a finance program but charged the max to the account before doing any work so you are stuck using them. By the way its illegal to charge for insurance performing the work. They set up appointment for me to have molds of teeth to make dentures which you cant get a good fit when your teeth are still in. Then another appointment to pull teeth. They pulled all 6 teeth and sent me home with a temp denture. The denture did not fit and hurt really bad so they added cushions to it which did not help. Gums were having a hard time healing but then fragments of broken off teeth started coming through my gums. There is still a big chunk pushing out the side of my gums. I complained about it on last visit but nothing was done. They also have you sign a paper saying they are not responsible for broken off teeth that you have to see a oral surgeon. So now my gums all all screwed up and I have to find another dentist to try and fix there mess. Have not even got the permanent teeth yet much less implants. But the total amount was charged to my account so Im out a lot of money. Very unprofessional office and should be investigated . I will be seeking legal advice for recovery of funds and maybe malpractice. DO NOT GO THERE
Complete mill, only about the money, dont really care about the patients. Bad service and I felt discriminated against for multiple reasons. My dad was a Vet and my mom just had quadruple bypass. I had a tooth pain. My teeth have been neglected, all they wanted to do was sell me an electric toothbrush, cleaning, and a full scale work up costing upwards of $10,000. Take my advice, unless youre one of the 1% and dont mind getting bent over, then avoid at all Costs, no pun intended.
I was not happy with the experience. I made an appointment for a cleaning having just moved into the area. I was looking to establish a long time relationship with a dentist, like I have had one past. The appointment was unbelievable; I was taken into a room for X-rays, moved to a consult room to meet the hygienist and DDS where I was first told about all the products and services I could buy! $130 for a toothbrush? Are you kidding me! Then I was told this appointment was just a consultation! I was shocked! The hygienist told me if I can work you in I could get my teeth cleaned. I was Appalled! Are they going to charge my insurance for all those X-rays and not clean my teeth?! No way! Yes - she picked a little bit around my teeth and then polished them - where was the cleaning? As soon as she put the polisher down, I was told we have to get out of this room because its a consult room. I was rushed out of the chair and she slapped some fluoride on my teeth (which cost $25)! I was then told to set is a waiting area for the office manager....weird...I did not sit, Im busy too and I had already been ther of 90 minutes. Because I was standing around, someone at the front desk took me into the mangers office who asked me if I have insurance when I took care of that when I came in...dont these people work together? As I was checked out they asked me when I wanted my appointment for whitening...I never said I want whitening...where did they get that information? I would not recommend this place. I am truly disappointed in the unprofessional, personally disrespectfulness for my teeth. I work in healthcare and know good oral health is crucial to overall health therefore I will find a dentist and hygienist who cares as much as I do!
I went into aspen Dental because I was having excruciating pain in my mouth. I don’t currently have dental insurance, and they were offering free exams to new patients. total waste of time. I have a crack in one tooth, and I had another tooth causing so much pain I hadn’t slept or eatin in 4 days. After multiple xrays and pictures the dentist couldn’t find the crack in my tooth, or any problem at all. It was very clear to me that he wasn’t to confident in the “answers” he was giving me, or that he really knew what was going on at all. He suggested that my previous filling was probability bad and that we should replace it, and that I just needed a cleaning because I was 2 months past due. Maybe after the cleaning he’d be able to see something. So here I am, in Unbelieve pain, and they want me to wait a week to come back so they can clean them and look again. They put me in another waiting room until they were ready to check me out, in the hallway outside of the waiting room I hear the dental assistant tell the dentist that she did see the crack and that he was looking at the wrong tooth. Do you think he came back to re-examine the right tooth? Nope, just sent me on my way. Nothing seemed right at all so I got a second opinion today- Thank God! The tooth that “just needed a cleaning” is actually highly infected and needs a root canal, and the tooth with the “filling needed to be replaced” is cracked (as I told him) and is irritated because the whole left side of my mouth is inflamed. The filling itself is fine. I would much rather pay for an exam out of pocket and be told what needs to be done, then waste my day at a place with a staff that doesn’t have a clue of what’s going on (with the exception of the dental assistant.)
I got 19 teeth removed in January 21. same day got my temporary Dentures. since then have been back getting soft lines several times. I have complained since day one they feel off. crooked almost warped.to deaf ears being told its normal for adjustments. the lower in the back spread out in my cheek. I call it my wing. I had a under bite they fixed it once. but its back again. my upper pallet is thicker on one side making had to eat. no room for food. that was adjusted slightly after a fight to do so. Tech argued with my over that. the outer pallet the hump as I call it is so high it interferes with it staying in. It falls down all the time. I can feel that my mouth closes tighter on the right side than the left. I called again this Monday 3/22/21. stating I was in pain again after my last visit on Friday 3/19/21. asking to be seen my the Dr. I Got this from the office Manager. she stated what do you want me to do Vicki. your money back? its not going to happen its been tried before!!!!! SERIOUS!!!!! I replied NO LISA I WANT TO BE PAIN FREE AND DENTURES THAT FIT. she then stated ok Ill get you in Asap. they offered the next day during my work hours which I work with mental patients. she then stated our system just crashed. Ill get back to you ASAP to get you in . WELL ITS FRIDAY 3/26/21 IM STILL WAITING. SMH I feel like I have a pair of Halloween plastic teeth in my mouth. one I bit down they twist in my mouth. I just want it fix so am pain free, I can eat normal , smile. talk normal without drooling. I have 5 friends that have full dentures none of then look like mine. there all slightly different from one another of course having different mouths, but not deformed. WELL HERE IT IS 4/6/21 IM STILL WAITING ON A CALL BACK. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES ON 4/2/21 JUST GOT CONTINUS RINGS NO VMAILS... SO HERE I AM WITH A MOUTH FULL OF DENTURES THAT DONT FIT RIGHT AND THEY AVOIDED MY CALLS. THEY ASKED WHY CAN YOU DO TO MAKE IT BETTER? 1ST BETTER OFFICE MANGEMENT?( LAWSUIT) REALLY?!!! SAME OFFICER MANAGER WHO WAS SWEET AS PIE WHEN TRYING AND DID SELL ME THE MOST EXPENSIVE DENTURES THEY HAVE. WHEN I ASKED TO SEE THE Dr. THATS WHAT I MEAN. WHEN THE TECH MAKE A ERROR AS HE HAS IM MY CASE ADMIT IT AND FIX IT. DONT AGRUE WITH THE PATIENT. MY MOUTH FEELS LIKE YOUR FEET FEELS WHEN YOUR WALKING AROUND WITH WET SOCKS AND FEET IN SHOES ALL DAY. DENTURES THAT DROOP IN THE BACK TIGHT IN THE FRONT. THE BOTTOM I HAVE A WING IN THE RIGHT SIDE AND THE WARPED FEELING. I DROOL ALL DAY I CANT BIT WITHOUT PAIN. CAN ONLY TAKE BABY SIZE BITS .NO ROOM IN MY MOUTH. PALET TO FULL. SO WHAT I NEED IS DENTURES I CAN EAT WITH WITHOUT PAIN.THAT STAY IN. THEN THEY MY SAY PERMANENT WONT BE READY UNTIL 8/4/21. MY SON IS GETTING MARRIED 8/14/21. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. ILL NEED ANOTHER 5 MONTHS FOR THIS ADJUSMENTS THE WAY THINGS ARE GOING. SO AT THE WEDDING ILL HAVE NO TEETH THAT WORK. IN THE INTERM THEY CHARGED MY INSURANCE 8,000.00 ME ANOTHER 5,200. AND I WALK AROUND LIKE THIS.On April 6, I received a messaged from Aspens Patient Satisfaction team asking me to Contact I spoke to a Lady Named Nicole. that this was emotional taking its toll on me, she stated she would help and this would get corrected she tried then to connect me with the Reginal Manager however he was unavailable stated she had with in 24/48 hours to return my call.by 1 on April 7th. he returned my call by the end of our conversation he assured me that they would get resolved. A minutes Lisa from the Lake Orion called apologized for any misunderstanding. We then spoke cordial to one another. then an Appt. was made to see the Dr. Jump forward today I went in to get a new mold to get made for new intermates. Thank you ,to the Regional Manager, Dr. & The Team & Lake Orion Office for standing behind your word. Cant wait to see the new ones.
If I were you Id definitely find another dentist. The younger dentist is not skilled enough but they wont tell you that. Something as simple as me telling her exactly what tooth was bothering me and what I thought the reasons were still went unnoticed.. in my opinion, they are more after money then actually helping you and caring for the wellbeing of your teeth.. Im over them. Just asked for a refund and will not be going back
Dr. Cobb was knowledgeable and kind. Office staff was friendly, too. My daughter loved having a tv screen while she waited and then being able to see her xrays on the same screen when the Dr. came in. Wait time to check out was long and unexpected. I appreciated their detailed bill for procedures needed as well as the email appt reminders.
The partial Aspen supplied broke within 8 months. They wanted another $1000 for the same partial to be replaced. I told them it has been only 8 months since I got the partial and that I am a retired senior with limited income and no dental insurance. They just would not care and charged me $48 for that visit though the doctor did not even examine me. I got the partial from another dentist for less than $500 . Needless to say, I would not be going back to Aspen anymore.
They show tital desregard for the well being of the patients. My wife was in pain and they refused to treat her she is pregnant with only 4 weeks and they need a release from a OBGYN. They don’t see you until the 8th week so they told us to print a dentist release in their website. Aspen dental refused it because no actual doctor saw her. On interested about the liability. Could they have seen her without the x rays, yes, but they decided to refuse her treatment. Another dentist accepted to see her the next day and now she is unable to sleep cause of the pain. Thanks to the negligence and unhuman treatment of these dentists.
Would NOT recommend going here! I gave them numerous chances over several months/procedures, but things never changed and my overall experience was horrible... Very unprofessional, botched 2 crowns & a root canal, appointments always take 2x longer than they should. Doctors/staff are not transparent and I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!
Aweful. Had to have a crown done and was in need of a new dentist. They have to have ours de people who only come in once a week or so who do a root canal. Long process, never the same dentist, price I owed kept changing and it is less than just over 18 months since the crown was put in and new x-rays show it was not fitted property and there is decay under the crown causing more issues andhave to have it replaced again hast my own expense due to their shotty work since it hasnt been over five years. Thanks for nothing,, hope this answers why I wouldnt come back and switched practices. Rather than fix a problem, caused more.
Great people/ service. Had to wait an extra 45 mins due to previous pt showing up late (not there fault), but was at least there was entertainment such as comfortable waiting room with TV. New pt set up normal does not include cleaning but the hygienist skipped lunch to squeeze me in so I didnt have to drive back to the office (above and beyond good service).
VERY unhelpful and RUDE office manager - Took them 3 months to complete what they committed to complete in 3 weeks. Slow .... over-promise and under-deliver. I was over-charged (by a LOT) and the office manager cannot tell me when it will be refunded - and then she talked down to me on top of it. Go elsewhere.
Tried charging me thousands to fix a broken tooth and tell me that all my fillings needed to be replaced cause they are old but i found a dentist who charged me $100 (and he saw me on a national holiday too and didnt charge me extra for that) to fix the broken tooth as well as check my fillings and said they were perfectly fine.

2022-04-27As a new patient, I dont know if I was there on a bad day. But I found this office to be very unorganized, the man in front of me was arguing about his payments, the girl kept saying the office manager is out today, I can take a payment, but the patient was arguing the amount, when it was my turn, the receptionist said the doctor I was scheduled to see was out, they could do a consultation, but my appt. was for an extraction, I was in a lot of pain, and decided that I would leave, they would not give my copies back to me of all the personal information I filled out, they did give me my originals, but said they would shread the copies, well why not just give them to me! I will never go back to an Aspen Dental office again, so unprofessional, I am still very upset with the way they handled my appt.

2022-07-20They found problems with my mouth that didn’t exist. I was told tooth #12 could not be saved and needed an implant. I went for a 2nd and 3rd opinion. All I needed was a full crown. I saved $5999 AAND my tooth by moving on to a different and honest dentist. Now I question whether I ever needed some of the other procedures I had at Aspen Dental.

2022-06-16I’m happy I decided to use aspen for my Invisalign and various other dental treatments. The entire staff is always very kind, they have been great about answering all of my questions, and the doctor I see is wonderful.
