Aubrees Pizzeria & Grill in other cities:
Stopped in for dinner, was a little disappointed I could not have pizza because of the cheese mix. I ended up ordering a bacon cheeseburger with fries and a side of slaw...burger was good but could have been warmer, fries were way over spiced and slaw was good. Not sure if I will be stopping by again.
Good food! The menu includes healthy and gluten free options. Parking can be tight, it would seem. The dining area has tables and booths for various group sizes, and they even have a private dining room for events like rehearsal dinners and so forth. Theres televisions all over for watching sports. The place is clean and staff is friendly.
My mom and i had the cajun chicken tortellini and it was super good! my only complaint was the portion size was a little small for the price, and it didn’t include anything (not even a piece of their amazing bread!) on mentioning that to our server she brought us two pieces for free which was nice. the pizza is pretty good, and they do offer a lunch buffet which is always fresh and well kept. waitstaff was so pleasant on our visit, i can’t speak highly enough of them!
Thursday morning with heavy rains in Dexter allowed an early lunch break. Where do you get a decent lunch at 11:00 in Dexter, Michigan? I have enjoyed the specialty shoppes and bakeries over the years but wanted something different. I called a friend who grew up nearby, and he suggested Aubrees Pizza & Grill. He knew the pizza bar and salad are unlimited from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm for about 10 bucks, and spoke of their quality service and food. Aubrees verified what had just heard and we headed into town. Aubrees sits immediately east of Dairy Queen and a couple runs around the block made it clear we would not be parking our truck and trailer on the street out front or in the parking lot at the rear. There is a public parking lot just west and south of the rear parking lot on the south east corner of Broad and Forest streets so anyone with a camper or utility trailer will be set.We were the first customers of the day for the pizza/salad bar so while there was no pizza, the salad was cool, and fresh. Even the tomatoes had the moisture drops that make salads so photo worthy. Before we finished the salad our server, Allison, informed us the 1st pepperoni pizza was up. Within 10 minutes it was followed with deluxe pizza, pizza bread, and a margarita pizza with balsamic sauce drizzle. In other words, no complaints about not having food ready, the opposite is true. The food was fresh when we were ready. Do not expect a 75 item salad bar. This is a spring mix and a Romaine base with olive slices, cucumber, cheese, onion, croutons, 1000 island, Greek, and portion control ranch that doubles as a dip container for pizza bread and crusts. There are a few more items but luncheon fare only. You will pay more for just the salad at Whole Foods or Kroger but the added items justify the up charge.Allison was attentive when our drinks were low but other than 2x how is everything we were left to converse without interruption.Ambiance allowed for clean utility workers to a business lunch for lawyer and client. Bar to the side with designed wall combines isolation and inclusion, take out has a separate window inside the restaurant, and washrooms seem to be commont to the building at large. We were full and happy with our experience here without any hindrance to returning in the future. As usual, I do not know anyone here, and am not related to anyone here. I do not get anything for this review other than the satisfaction of pointing out something of interest that may help you out. Any errors are my fault, not Aubrees.
Hostess/Manager that is working today, August 17th needs some major training in Customer Service! Was rude to us when we were locked out of the door by the parking lot at 11;20 am. Then I witnessed he being rude to an older couple outside on the patio. If I would have been them, I would have gotten up & left.
Very bad experience. Went with my older parents at 12 noon. Guys at the bar were getting drunk and cursing like sailors in front of us and my children. We got passed over in line because they chose to seat a local group without a reservation in front of us. Then we were seated next to a couple whose were finished eating but stuck around to polish off a few drinks and taking loudly while there kids were running around also being loud and disruptive. The staff did nothing to stop this. Ruined our meal and my sons birthday.
I stopped by Aubrees while traveling along the interstate, and it was entirely worth the extra 5 min of driving to reach their restaurant. I ordered some delicious carne asada tacos & a fresh salad, and enjoyed them while sitting on a beautiful patio. Plenty of parking behind the restaurant, attentive service, big menu, and my food was delicious. Would definitely stop by again.
I have never felt the need to write a review before but today I sat at the bar and was waited on by a young lady named Carly. I don’t frequent the restaurant so I’m not sure what would’ve caused a Thursday night to be so busy but regardless of how obviously busy it was our service was excellent. Sad to see a few rude gentleman who I imagine to be regulars giving her a hard time she was excellent. Food was good service was perfect
Havent been here in years. Stopped by for a burger. It was overcooked and so tough, like it was a premade patty you get in a store. They gave me the wrong fries as well. Not sure what happened to the quality, but this place is nothing to write home about. Waste of money. Makes me wonder about the Ypsi location now, is it just as bad too?Went again to see if the previous visit was just an off night. Had the coconut chicken. It was horrible. It was so dry and overcooked. It was pounded out so thin, it was just awful. Not to mention, it cost $17 dollars. Wth?!? For a terrible chicken breast, fries and a side salad. This place is TERRIBLE.
I went to Aubrees for the first time last week. I decided to step out of the box and try the limited-time Reuben Pizza. It was DELICIOUS! I just had to make a review, this should become a permanent menu item.My *only* complaint is that it was freezing inside the restaurant. I had goosebumps the entire time I was there. Please consider bumping the temp up a few!
One of the rare times we went out to eat as a family since the pandemic began. So glad we ended up here! Every one of us enjoyed the food....chicken caprese sandwich, derby bourbon burger, pot roast poutine...all fantastic! Mac and cheese could have been a little cheesier but still good. The fries? YUM. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Ordered for pick up to be ready at 6:30, then had to wait in line until 6:55. Maybe it was a busy night, but disappointing as it shouldnt be too hard to grab a ready pizza. Pizza dough is a bit spongey, but has delicious garlic crust. The margherita could use some sauce as the moisture all comes from oil. Will likely give one more shot to see if a different pizza on a different night improves the experience.
The food here is pretty decent. We like Aubrees pizza, and the other menu options are usually tasty. Service is typically good, but a few times in the past few months weve had some poor experiences. Its one of the few restaurants in the area that we all seem to enjoy so we end up eating here pretty frequently.
We come here all the time. The food is always delicious. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. This is one of our go-to restaurants even though its a bit of a drive for us. Plus after dinner, its a beautiful place to walk off all the scrumptious food you ate. Downtown Dexter and their paved walkway near the river, both so nice!
Food was spot on. I had corn beef and swiss and my husband had chicken pot pie. Everything was made from scratch, not frozen and delivered from GFS or some other food delivery company. We will go back. With that said, we traveled an hour to get here. We had purchased something from market place and asked them before we left, where is a good place to eat in town. They recommended Aubrees. Nice atmosphere and very clean. Very accommodating wait staff!
The food was great, as was the service. I was just disappointed with their use of single use plastics. They bring a second straw for every drink refill and their containers for sides of sauces (ranch/marinara) come in single use plastics as well. In addition, takeout boxes include Styrofoam (though they kindly brought me a small pizza box instead). I was told they do not recycle the plastics they use. I am hopeful they will adopt more sustainable practices since I truly enjoyed the meal and sitting on the patio.
My wife and I go here periodically mostly to meet friends. this is a good place for social gatherings. we have had pizza, which was quite good and weve tried a number of other dishes and sandwiches. The pizza is the most consistent product weve had. The sandwiches had varied inconsistency some really good, some just okay The bar seems to be outstanding lots of people are in the bar when were there. We usually just get beer at the table.
Their pizza is excellent. The pizza buffet is the best buffet in town. The staff replenished the pizza frequently to ensure fresh pizza on the bar. They dont wait for the old pizza to be completely gone and they dont leave the old stuff out. The pizza on the buffet is as good as the pizza you order fresh, with specialty pizzas on the buffet not just single topping pies. The wait staff is always attentive and courteous. Ive been there several times now and never disappointed.
This place has SOOOOO many crave worthy options. Of course, if you love pizza you are in good hands! BUT did you know they have the most amazing brussel sprouts, cauliflower mash, and kale caesar salad too??! The atmosphere is fun and great for families! The service is always great. We adore it!!!!
Aubrees is an all around good place to stop and get some food and drinks. The service has always been good. The food is sometimes hit or miss, probably depending on the cook but its never to the point of having to return it. This location is always really clean as well and it a great spot to throw a party as there is plenty of room. I would recommend Aubrees if your in town looking for a place to eat for sure.
The majority of the times we’ve ordered carry-out, they get it wrong and/or it’s poor quality. The cooks ignore the instructions/requests, so plan on going back to get your correct order after complaining or on eating something you didn’t order. We like to support the local restaurants and we give generous tips to help the workers, but Aubree’s isn’t going to get our carry-out business any longer - they have screwed up too many times. We’ll go to the Dexter Pub instead.
I ordered the Roasted Chicken Thighs with cauliflower mash. I should have taken a picture of what was sent out of the kitchen - I had to search for the chicken - three little pieces of deep fried unidentifiable boneless something. It looked like boneless chicken wings. It was inedible. The server was very accommodating and someone came out from the kitchen to ask me what the problem was. He was also very nice, however he told me that they roast the thighs and then deep fry them to warm them back up!I understand that Aubreys is not the place to go for a fine dining experience, however deep frying an already cooked piece of chicken?I ended up with a plain burger that was very good and a side of the cauliflower mash. Service was great, noise level what you would expect from a busy Friday happy hour time and food, be careful what you order.
Im giving my one star review based on carry-out. Everytime I get a carry-out its either wrong or just poorly prepared. Today I got a carry-out and all the food was over cooked and dry. The fries were soggy and not fresh. The lettuce was wilted. it was all just awful. Not what I expected when I spend $50 for a burger a chicken sandwich and fish tacos. Now on the other hand every time I eat in its been really good. The pizza is amazing. Guess from now on its either dine in or not at all.
Consistently very good quality food, good variety on the menu. Atmosphere in restaurant is typically lively/noisy (although we usually carry out) so not the place for a quiet night out. Our favorites are the bacon brussel sprouts, tater tot nachos, bourbon BBQ chicken sandwich, coconut grove chicken, and the burgers.
Pretty good food. It would be great if they consistently delivered though!Update: My work ordered $70 worth of food for delivery. They called 45 min later saying its ready for pick up! They then proceed to deliver the cold food! Missed all our condiments too! Awful service.
Cheesy bread good. However management is poor and told me they are busy for explanation of a 37 minutes ticket time on my food. Maybe actually talking to me to here my concerns would be nice and not just a free cheesy bread.Waiting 37 minutes for my food with 3 kids was a lot of fun.I have been here before just long lines. But after today poor management experience Ill remove this from my list.Best of luck to you on your adventure.
I give 5 stars bc it is what I expected! We went for the lunch buffet that is $9.99 and ate a lot of pizza and salad and breadsticks. There were like nine different pizzas to choose from. I liked the pizza with balsamic and tomatoes, and also the meaty sausage and pepperoni pizza was delicious too. This place is great for kids, and there are lots of them around at lunch time.
Soooooo bummed. Have always come here, and loved it but so disappointed in my stop tonight. Ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, for me and my 2 1/2 year old step twins to share while we waited for our other people to join, to find it came with a grand total of 5 little pita wedges. Could barely share it with my two kids. For $9.99, could really truly afford to put a little more wedges than that, or maybe even some tortilla chips. I then ordered the southwest taco salad. I have always remembered their salads being massive portions, and unfortunately this salad was slightly bigger than a side salad. They forgot the avocado and tomatoes, and put a couple pieces of corn. And of course, I had to pay extra for chicken. So for $13.99, again, very small and cheap salad. Hopefully this was just tonight, and they aren’t starting to cheap out On their portions. Two stars because the waitress was super nice and even agreed with poor the salad was.
My wife, son, and daughter stopped into Aubree’s in Dexter on Friday, June 1st, after a soccer game. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, and they were seated in an acceptable amount of time. They were there for 15-20 minutes, and NOBODY came by to even take their drink order. My wife mentioned this to the hostess, who said they would get someone. Another 5 minutes passed, with nobody coming by to even take a drink order. That’s 20-25 minutes without any service at all. They got up, handed in the menus, and left. We’ve been to other Aubree’s locations that have been fine. I hope this was just poor service on one night, and not the norm. We won’t be back to find out.
We drove about an hour from our home to visit the cider mill. When we finished at the cider mill, we decided to stop here for dinner. The food and service were absolutely amazing. I went with my husband and three children, and they loved it too. Well definitely be back. It is worth the hour drive.
Just had my wedding rehearsal dinner here. We rented the event room (we were told it holds 50 people). The room got a bit crowded and noisy with nearly that many people in it, but that didnt damper the overall mood. All my guests were well fed and the wait staff stayed on top of all the drink orders. We had a pizza and salad buffet. Everyone raved about how good the Margherita pizza was. The only thing I didnt like was the rental price.
Im not sure if the people giving Aubrees 5 stars are eating the same food as we are. The Aubrees in Ypsilanti and South Lyon are great, so my wife and I were excited to try the one in Dexter back when it opened. For awhile it seemed pretty good, we have our go-to meals that we like to order, and we typically get carry-out. The one time we did dine-in it was a pretty bad experience. Our server was okay, but the food took over an hour to get once we placed our order, which isnt fun when you have two small children with you. The pizza was alright, but our kids chicken was dry, the breadsticks were dry, and the fries were bad. We havent been back in since. As far as carry-out, it gets worse and worse each time. We only get it once every few weeks to a month, but I think were done now. The food is poorly prepared. We got a Margarita pizza, and it had large stems from the basil on it! The basil itself was dry and shriveled up, so bad.If you want Aubrees, youre much better off going to another location!Update 02FEB2020. I was craving the Margherita pizza which is great, so I decided to give this Aubrees another shot. The pizza was good, but the breadsticks were flat and dry. I dont know if this is a carry out thing or what. The crazy thing about this visit was this: I made the order online, which included a personal cheese pizza. Immediately after placing the order I called in to upsize it to a large cheese pizza. On the menu, the price for a personal and a large is $8.49 and $12.49 respectively. So why when I picked it up was there a $5 up-charge for the cheese pizza?
Great food but not consistent service. Most recently, we were told there were two open 6 top tables for our party of 5 and then the manager came over and rudely told his hostess right in front of us that she was not able to seat us there bc we only have 5. She was embarrassed.Instead, they had us wait for 25 min to put us in another table while the two 6 top tables remained empty.... for our entire wait and the duration of our meal..... not great customer service.
Seating outside was really close together. Most of the down town Ann Arbor restaurants has outside seating spacing much farther apart. It seems like they could be spread out farther. I’m sure there are restrictions on how much sidewalk space the restaurant can use but seems like Dexter would be pretty lenient at this time.
We like a lot to go out. Last night we visited this excellent place which friends recommended to us. We passed a delightful evening there with great food and a nice stuff and a great chief cook. We put this place in our phone list and we shall surely go again soon. We deeply recommend.
We stopped for dinner tonight. The waitress was amazing and great to have. She kept one of roudy trouble makers inline by being quick to the retorte and made my night. Qe all loved it. The delay in getting our food was the only reason for not 5 stars. Was an hour after we ordered before our food showed up. Wished it had been faster and was disappointed as we have always had good turn time from the kitchen.
We always have a great sever when we dine at Aubrees. Tonight our server was Allyson and she went above and beyond to make sure we had a great dining experience! Summer is extra special for outdoor dining because we can bring our Great Dane to dine at table side with us.
Stopped here because Buddys had a power outage. Pleasantly surprised. Feta bread is better than the normal bread sticks. Got a couple large deep dish pizzas and some of the edge pieces were 50% crust. Not sure if its normally like this or not. Regardless, enjoyed the margherita and veggie pizzas. Would stop in again.
It was OK. They did not prepare our pizza according to the menu. We noticed the missing ingredients and the server apologized but did not offer anything for the error. The credit card charge did not match the bill we were given. Difference was only $2.40 but still it was not consistent. Dont know whether we want to give it another chance.
The last time I went to Aubree’s was about a year ago, and I remember this experience very well. Myself, my boyfriend, and his family all went out and dined there on a sunny, warm day. I ordered some sort of Mexican wrap involving coleslaw. Everyone got their food, and it was tasty. Well, except for mine. Aubree’s coleslaw… Is um… It’s for the special soul. Actually I don’t think anyone would like it and I have no idea why it’s so heavily featured throughout their menu. It’s made of wilted lettuce… and mayo… And has the grizzly, slimey texture and flavorless, milky taste that you really would not expect to purchase at a restaurant. I gave my boyfriend a taste and he agreed that it was awful. Then he handed it to his dad, he also thought it was awful. The wrap was mostly the coleslaw as well, think of it, a tortilla filled with that coleslaw. It was…interesting. We all chuckled about it, had a great time, and it wasn’t a big deal, but since I was not able to eat my meal, as it was obviously inedible, we sent it back (something we do no more than once every two or three years, and it has to be something really god-awful—we are NOT looking to screw over a business or get a free meal. Well, at the end, we discussed it with our waitress and she had a young man, tall, big, I guess a manager, came over, let’s call him Bob. I chuckled a little, showed him the wrap and mentioned that it was the worst meal I’ve ever had, and honestly thought he would agree that a tortilla filled with mostly coleslaw is a pretty awful idea. Bob gave us a refund on my meal, but did nothing to disguise his vehement hatred that we didn’t like the coleslaw. Then when we left, he was at the podium near the door, and he quietly scowled and didn’t say goodbye to any of us, just stood there with his arms crossed in his black shirt. I made an enemy that day. Because of coleslaw. So um, yeah we never went back. It’s a funny memory though.
Boring food, served luke-warm. Slow service.Every year or so we give this place another chance, thinking it must be better than our experiences have shown. About 10 misses and no Wow. If you want a place to hang out and dont care about the food it may be all right...
Ive been to the bar at least 4-5 times and it has not been anything special. In fact, I kind of dread going there, possibly because better places are available, but the whole atmosphere does not seem to work for me. Its nothing special nor exciting (to me). My partner/his family seem to go there as a preferred choice thinking healthier options are available, which I dont understand. My last visit was particularly dreadful. Me & my family came there to eat. Ordered. 10-15 minutes later another full table was seated, and they got their food first, while our table just sat there waiting. How does that happen? How does that work out?? We sat probably for a whole hour waiting. The other table somehow ate their food, got doggie bags and chatting away when finally our food arrived. My time was spent listening to my table partners complaining about where the food is, how they will write horrible reviews and how the other table that arrived after us is eating while we are still waiting.Food: food presentation was good. But food was okay. It could be better. Mac and cheese was bland, and my grilled chicken wrap with teriyaki sauce had too much sauce, overpowering the bland wrap components. It was not really inspiring. But I was hungry.Server: server was new but good. He tried his best, but it mustve been a rough day for him.Manager on duty was seemingly annoyed by our request for pop, when we ran out and waiter was not available. Its probably after that where it went downhill. Mistakes happen. But they can be fixed up. Except in our case, complaint to the manager went on blind ear. For the horrible dining experience, my expectation was that most respectable restaurants will at least *try* to make it better. There could be many ways, like i.e. take *something* off the bill, like that sub par onion that was served to us. But no, no effort was done in so far as our complaint about the food wait. I still find it unexplained why food steadily coming out to the other table. Had I been the manager on duty seeing how horrible the experience was, Id comp the entire meal and apologize for the wait, and give out coupons to come back for later. No one should experience a situation like this in a restaurant. Thats just bad service, bad culture, and bad planning.Appetizers: We got the awesome onion: imagine an onion that you pull one of the onion straws and only the breaded part comes off, leaving the actual onion intact still on the cob. That was the onion served. Not worth it. They should just take it off the menu, or rethink the whole onion thing. That worst Bloomin Onion that could possibly be served at Outback, would still be better than what we got.Rating this 2 stars, because I disliked it in general, despite the last experience where I plain hated it.
Not a fan of Gordons frozen foods/pizza crust. Last time I ordered the Boursin mushroom burger could not even taste the cheese. I actually lifted the bun to look for it, had such a small amount spread on bun. Unfortunately I had ordered it take out for lunch and did not have time to run back and return it. I just stopped going all together after so many disappointments.
Aubrees isnt bad, but it isnt amazing either. The main reason we choose Aubrees is that we want to eat out but dont feel like driving all the way to Ann Arbor. The food is always okay, the service is uneven, and the prices are kind of high. I wouldnt say no if someone else wanted to go, but Ive never heard anyone I know say Oh, yay! Aubrees!

2022-03-28Great food and atmosphere here! Thank you for my birthday personal pizza! Got the mighty meat! Miss coming here, since I no longer work in Dexter, so will have to make more effort to stop in! 😋🥳

2022-08-23Everything was delicious. Our waitress attentive even though she was really busy. They also have the old fashioned faygo root beer in the glass bottle which my son loves.

2022-06-10Great variety of food. Hard choice between Margherita personal pizza & Pot Roast Poutine...went with the pizza. It was delicious. Nice outdoor seating area too.

2022-03-31Most important here is the sauce. There is a little more complexity in it than you will find in most places. Plenty of herbs gives it a hearty taste without overwhelming against the toppings. The cheese was not greasy, and the bake was good with an agreeable crust. The Cajun mix for the crust topping was decent too. A well-made pizza all around.

2022-07-24Delicious food! Great atmosphere and seating options either at the bar, on the patio, or in their dining room. Service is great and reasonably timed. Their garlic feta bread is the best. Have never had a bad meal here!

2022-07-06My family had a great experience with Bella as our server on June 30. Bella was cheerful (beautiful smile!), attentive, efficient, and great fun to talk to! And we really appreciated that she was dressed professionally. (Were pretty tired of tight leggings and tight tops - the persistent objectifying of women in our culture.)

2022-04-04The food was fine but it was EXTREMELY loud, to the point that I had to box up my food and leave right after I got it because I could barely hear my own thoughts. It wasnt due to the amount of customers as there were a lot but not enough to make that much noise, so my assumption is that the acoustics, music, and building design contributed to it. Im partially deaf, so for me to say that something is too loud is pretty rare.

2022-06-25While at Aubrees today for lunch 5 of our party order the pizza buffet. They went up and got one plate each before a group of 50-60 people entered from a tour bus. Most if not all got the buffet which meant that my family had to wait so we asked our nice waitress if it would be possible for her to bring us one large pizza for the table since we could not get to the buffet. She brought the pizza which very good but charged us for it. When we questioned her she asked her “manager”. The “manager” came to the table and said she still had to charge us for the pizza. When we tried to explain she brushed us off. If this is the way Aubrees is going served their smaller parties when they have larger parties that is just not right. We are just as important if not more so because we are loyal local customers.

2022-04-11Its always nice to have a beer with dinner and not have to make anything.Shared a burger and fries and a cheesebread with the wife and the son got a personal pizza. The boy was happy with his pizza, said it looked nicer when it was fresh compared to the next day but it was still good. Gotta love left over pizza thats still good.Burger wasnt bad, fries were great, and the cheesebread was good. Think of it like a scale on one to ten. The burger was about a five, the cheese bread a seven, the pizza I think would be about an eight, and the fries a ten.I will definitely be back! I need to try the fattoush salad.Very nice environment, great staff, good food, good drinks, you really cant ask for much more.
