From the first week of moving in, my roommate and I had a large amount of issues. There were all sorts of bugs coming in to our second level apartment and when I asked that they send pest control it took over a month and me threatening to put my rent in escrow for them to send someone out.Every time maintenance was requested there was always an excuse as to why they didnt come out for 2+ days (even with water issues!!)Due to the very old appliances and poor insulation, monthly utility bills were extremely high. They are always late in charging for water/sewage/trash. I moved out in June and the week before I moved out they charged April, May, and June water/sewage/trash to my ledger. In addition, they deducted unnecessary charges from my security deposit claiming they gave me a fireplace remote and I didnt leave it there when I never received it in the first place.Auburn Hills is a great area to live in but there are WAY better complexes and communities to be a part of. I should have heeded the warnings from multiple reviews on the internet about this place.Good luck!
I wish I could give 3.5 stars.Pros:-Free overhead parking with a slight overhang that prevents frost.-Central air and heat that easily keeps the apartment temperate (no ac units! very nice!)-Lots of natural light.-Decent snow removal. For light snow storms, parking lots were cleared within 8 hours. For heavy snow, they were usually clear within 24 hours. Walks and entryways were also well maintained.-Good ventilation. No smells from previous owners and easy to keep apartment smelling fresh.-Good appliances. Our dishwasher was awesome, good stove and washing machine.-Maintenance responded quickly to requests, especially about water leakage.-Relatively painless move out. We cleaned super well (behind stove, fridge), received our full deposit. Lost one set of keys at the end of our lease, and we were charged minimal fees upon moveout.-Awesome community. We loved our neighbors and tennants seemed very friendly.Cons:-It is relatively expensive for dollar/square foot for the area.-Your lease does NOT go month-to-month after 12 months. They provide you with options for lease renewal after your first year. To extend it for another 12 months, rent went up $100. To extend it for only 6 months, rent went up $200. To go month-to-month, rent went up $350. We couldnt commit to another 12 months, so didnt even attempt to negotiate rental rates. This significantly affected our plans and our length of stay at Auburn Ridge.-We had a leak that maintenance came to look at 3/4 times, and it could never be permanently fixed. Luckily, it was in our utility closet, but we had to use our own tupperware to collect the drippings so we didnt cause water damage.-The road the led to the apartments is privately owned by the apartment complex, and very poorly maintained in the winter. This is typical in Michigan, but the potholes seemed to be -especially- rough when they were hit.-My husband posted previously about maintenence unexpectedly cracking down on bike storage. The situation could have been handled better, and it was frustrating to have personal property damaged without much warning. Storing bikes inside such a small apartment (without storage kennels common to many apartments) isnt very reasonable. The property owners could make a HUGE difference by deciding to install bike racks on the property for easy storage that doesnt clutter the looks of patios/entryways.-Electric water heaters. Gas is a much cheaper option for heating water, and just having warm showers cost us a pretty hefty electric bill.Overall, management was easy to work with and good to us. It seems most of the frustrating decisions were made by the higher-ups. We enjoyed living here, but ended up moving because the apartment was too small for the price we were paying. If it is in your budget, I would recommend it (the patio opening in the back to a well kept lawn was a dream!). If you are looking for a little more space per dollar, but with fewer perks, I would suggest Auburn Hills Apartments or Countryside Townhomes.
Lived here for a year but had to move out because I changed my job. But it was a pleasant stay. Liked the community and spacious apartment and a nice large backyard. Maintenance staff try to work on the repair work orders as soon as they can. One thing I want to point out is, I wish they had a better/larger fitness center. Overall, I definitely recommend this community.
Although my apartment was big and I liked it. The two ladies in the office made my living experience terrible. The lady who lived on site was 2 apartments down from us and she was always giving us lease violations for the tiniest things. After we moved in we got a letter about the rules and regulations and not 2 days later we got a lease violation because our dog wasnt on a short enough leash. like really? did you come out and measure it?Then one day she was sitting outside and so was I with our neighbors and we were sitting in the yard minding our own business (in the afternoon) and what happened? next day my neighbor and I got a noise violation because we were disturbing other after quite enjoyment. Seriously? Since when is 3pm quite enjoyment hours? If you chose to live here please dont live any where near the office because they will basically watch you til you feel uncomfortable and make you hate coming home.Again, the apartments are nice but its not worth it to have someone watch your every move.
I have lived here since last summer. I have had similar experiences to several people here. They seem to care a lot about outward perception of how the complex looks, but have less than satisfactory maintenance. We requested things be fixed when we moved in, but nothing happened so we had to re request quite a few times. We also use bicycles for transportation, and had them locked up outside. They had been outside for 9 months without a problem, when we got an email sent to all the tenants stating remember bicycles need to be in units not stored under the stairs or on patios. Just a simple reminder of what was in the lease, less than 24 hours later our locks had been cut and our bikes taken by maintenance. If they had knocked on the door, my wife (who was home all day) would have unlocked them and brought them inside, I was planning on doing it later that night as well. I understand it was their right to do so, but a warning that they needed to be moved by a certain time would have been the decent thing to do. We use the bikes for transportation, not just recreation, and this happened on a Friday afternoon. By the time I got home and realized they were gone the office was closed, and we didnt know if they had been stolen or what had happened, this also really complicated our transportation needs this weekend. It is now Monday night, and after requesting access to our bikes, and being told Maintenance would come drop them off, we still have yet to receive them. They advertise easy living, and they have severely complicated ours with 2 of us working and only 1 car.UPDATE: They returned the bikes late Monday night. Leaving them in the same spot they were when they cut the locks and didnt even knock on the door. Both me and my wife were home and they left them outside unlocked in the same spot they were before, and we didnt find them until Tuesday Morning. However, they mixed up the bikes. One of the bikes they returned wasnt even ours, after we called them they told us they cant switch them out until tomorrow, which will be Wednesday. This whole situation hasnt been handled very well at all. I understand that we shouldnt have had them outside to begin with, (Against our lease), but it had been 9 months, they gave us no warning they were going to cut 2 $20 bike locks, and they have been impossible to work with to get the bikes back.
1.nice staff. This was the primary reason that I made the wrong decision of moving to Auburn Ridge.2.rent is too high. Neither water, trash, nor heat is covered.3.extremely expensive utility bill. especially during winter time, the bill could be about $300/month.4.one bike was stolen. I asked the staffs whether they have any clue. But the staffs didnt reply.5.very old equipment, which is part of the reason of the expensive utility bill.6.a lot of charge to deposit ($250) after moving out. Im actually good at keeping the apartment in a very neat condition. Previously I lived in 5 apartments, none of which charged me any deposit. Part of the charges went to the old parts. You have to be very picky at the beginning to avoid such charge. and you have to keep everything super clean, including stove pan.7.Each apartment was assigned with a carport. But mine is very far away from my apartment. Its actually in front of another building instead of our building. Even worse, the carport has been given to another resident as a gift before I argued it back.8.many giant ants run from the bottom of bathroom vanity during the summer time.9.When I started to use the central heat during winter time, my son starts to cough. It implies that the HVAC is quite dusty.conclusion: keep away from Auburn Ridge.
I had a 1-bedroom- not bad. 2 years in the Apt. Management is not the best. Super Rude Assistant to the Manager. Move out fees were incorrect and very high. The peeps who live in the Complex are not the friendliest sorry to say. The area itself is nice. Just document EVERYTHING on move-in and move-out.
DO. NOT. MOVE. HERE!! This is by far the WORST apartment living experience I have EVER had! I am moving out and the end of this month and I can’t wait for it to be over. The management staff in the office is completely rude and disrespectful to the tenants! They’re trying to argue with me about the nail hole charges that will be taken from my security deposit when I move out ($2 per nail hole), even though it specifies in my lease that a certain type of nail is OK to use. And this is not a completely safe area. There is always some guy dumpster diving in the trash, my neighbor said his car was broken into, and MY car was stolen from here a few months back. Please, if you can avoid moving here, do so by all means! It’s not AT ALL worth the $1000+ a month that you’d be paying!
I have lived here for six years. I am a disabled Veteran and was offered to renew my lease at the beginning of the year. Cathy in the office told me that if I wanted a large two bedroom to not renew the lease but to reapply. I told Cathy that I had a heart surgery for heart failure from my service in the Army and that I would start the paperwork after I was healed from surgery. I contacted Cathy after my surgery and was told that corporate does not want to renew my lease. Now my daughter and I face homelessness because I followed Cathys advice as to how to move in a larger two bedroom. I have paid my rent on time and as a disabled Veteran they want to throw my daughter and I on the street. When I first moved in here the owners were supposed to be Christians who pastored their own church. If this is how Christian owners treat disabled Veterans than this world is definitely in trouble. I would definitely advise anyone to look elsewhere to live. If after 6 years of residence they can throw you on the street for following Cathys advice, these owners are truly, coldhearted people.
By far the BEST apts we have lived in! Staff was very friendly n courteous. Maintenance was always there within the hr. Would rent from here again if we moved back, but Georgia is good yall.!! LolOnly thing bad, was the tenants dont know how to pick up their animals business #2 !!!!!!! Tenants, yall should be ashamed of yourselves!! Disgusting. Although I had a constant complaint about the upstairs people the staff was on it n I called police on the tenants. They still didnt understand what they did wrong. Lol . Have a good yall and I sure do miss the ladies in that office. !!!!!
I am a contractor for Auburn ridge and other LaSalle owned properties. I have provided service for many years. I have not had a problem with anyone ever. They are very loyal clients that pay on time (usually early). I know no apartment complexes are perfect, but if all my clients were like Auburn ridge and LaSalle I would be very happy!
Mismanaged, old windows and doors that let heat/cold in (could see blinds moving on windy days) They are very poor at discerning who to let rent (lots of drug dealers and hoodlums that blast loud music) and very slow maintenance staff. (fallen pillar in front of building has been laying on ground since September of 2011, as of this review its still there. Go look, its building 15)Company was far better managed when Chelsea was the property manager. She did more than was realized. New staff is not nearly as good and completely disorganized.Edit: ALSO CRAZY EXPENSIVE FOR THE EXPERIENCE!
I want to leave this review in hopes that somebody else may not get taken advantage of similar to how I did by the staff at Auburn Ridge Townhomes. Sometimes I have noticed in life when youre not shady and youre not lying to people you generally dont get reviews like this, not only did they treat me unfairly, but when I had a issue the response I got from the manager was none at all, using trickery and deception to continue to practice unprofessionalism. When calling the office It would go like this when the phone was picked up: hello Auburn Ridge Townhomes, I would ask for Cathy, the acting property manager and I was told yes she was there and then i was put on hold, when this person came back to me after sitting on hold for 5 sometimes 12 or more minutes this specific time I was told that she actually wasnt there and like always give my number and no one called back. The owner dino lasala of Auburn Ridge Townhomes actually encourages this type of activity and offered no assistance as a business owner during a business deal. I would not recommend anyone do business with these people as I can see its only a matter of time before this company either sells out to a More professional person/group or simply gets sued and goes out of business. You always have to be a professional when you are doing business and I most definitely learned through my business dealings with this company that although some of these companies are big, and have allot of tenants it doesnt always automatically confirm that the business is is a good business and a reputable busines. I know now that just because you see a business with 24 buildings that surely doesnt automatically mean that the business owner is a fair person. So if you do decide to go ahead and do business with these people after you have read my review and a few payments in the lease you have any type of issue , issue to much for Cathy to confirm that she is going to fix something, so she starts to avoid your calls and after a while until you get tired out from that you decide you want to go above Cathys head you will starts to see how things are just not adding up I hope someone remembers reading this and I hope it saves you some time. These people will try so hard not too pay you that they know that if you do decide to take them to court that the judge will most likely make you settle which if youre intention at any point was to differ from what our contract originally stated then that would be bad business to me and as time goes on I have noticed businesses like this one that operate in that way dont make it in the long run. Definitely 2 thumbs down for Cathy and auburn Ridge Townhomes
I wish I could give 0 stars. From the second we moved in its been a nightmare. They let us move in to a unit that didnt have working AC (in July) and took 3 weeks to fix it. Additionally, they make you sign an addendum with the lease about BED BUGS which they clearly have a problem with here. The appliances are all out of date and the apartments just dont seem clean.

2022-03-13I rented this community for a year I would never recommend it to anyone.Pros:> Good calm locality> Maintenance staff is very professionalCons:> The leasing office is zero interested in addressing our concerns. Tracie from the leasing office is very rude and will make you regret every time you try to call with a concern> They will charge a very high security deposit (>$1000) and will rip you off when you move out. I was charged $700 after cleaning and maintaining and never received the remaining $300 which apparently was sent in the mail> Very old houses. My room used to have an open vent throwing in cold air during winters. My heater bill used to be $120 even though I lived alone in a 1 bedroom apt. Electricity was another story.Update(03/13): Replying to owner response:1) I did not request for the lease to be renewed. Irrespective of the renewal offer I was planning on moving out because of my experience.2) Instead of putting the blame on customers who are reviewing, please try to address these concerns. You know there is truth in these negative reviews when the last 7 out of 10 reviews state the same terrible experience.

2021-08-05I recently moved into Auburn Ridge Townhomes, into a loft style 2 bed 2 bath, and I couldn’t be happier. I have lived in a few rented places in my life, and this is by far the best I’ve been at. The inside is luxurious, especially the unit we obtained with the knocked out kitchen wall and bamboo wood flooring and granite countertops. The staff has been PHENOMENAL. Tracie and Linda (I’m so sorry if I have your name wrong Linda) in the front office have been nothing but super helpful and pleasant people to talk to, something that is rare with landlords and office staff at other places. I had a view minor (and one major) issue that came up after moving in and the office staff took care of it promptly and maintenance staff was fantastic and very helpful in resolving the issues. If you are looking for a gorgeous place to stay with great neighbors, great office staff, great maintenance, and of course a beautiful home, Auburn Ridge is for you!Edit;Had to attach a photo of the unit with a knocked out kitchen wall, it really opens the place up and makes it feel even bigger! And I also wanted to address some other reviews stating that office staff are rude, because that is the furthest thing from the truth. Please take your time to actually talk to them yourself.

2022-06-16It is beautiful and quiet. At first I gave it four stars but after speaking with the manager, I am sold on this place. They were so friendly and approachable. They also let me ask a million questions without getting irritated. I am definitely moving here.

2018-09-10This has been my home for 2 years and I couldn’t have asked for a better apartment complex in the Auburn Hills area. With beautiful and a well maintained landscape, the Maintenance crew has always been extremely professional and prompt in responding to any work orders. The employees in the leasing office deserve special mention and they have always been a pleasure to interact with.

2021-10-17Post moving out they charged us with living room Carpet cleaning with no carpet in our living room. Supposedly mailed out me and my former roommates security deposits to our current addresses, which none of us received. Put one of my roommates deposit in the mailbox at auburn ridge and took the check out of the envelope. The new management are scammers. Great place to live with nice neighbors. But everyone in the offices are very rude and abrasive. Don’t want to deal with none of the tenants with none of their situations! Great place to live, but with this management that came in, I personally do no recommend.

2021-07-07I can tell from my short time visiting this property that Tracie who works in the office is a rude person, she made me & my wife wait 15mins while she looked for her house keys which was unprofessional. I also noticed she was irritated by a resident who was knocking on the office door then she asked one of us to let him in while she sat on her bottom again unprofessional, come to find out the poor guy just wanted to know when would his A/C unit be repaired he has been getting the run around from what I could tell. She showed us a apartment unit quickly we basically felt rushed the whole time, to be honest I felt a “stereotype” vibe from her during our visit which was unwarranted. I’m glad we ducked this bullet.

2019-06-20Took our holding fee then confirmed they got it and were reviewing our application then never heard back from them. Current apartment said that Auburn Ridge kept contacting them asking for verification and that they sent it to them multiple ways. Auburn ridge didnt even email or call me to let me know they were having problems with verifying our application, it seemed like they didnt care once we have them the holding fee, which was very inconvenient for us since we live far away and they required it to be delivered in person via money order or cashiers check. After almost a month of waiting we gave up on them and found somewhere else to live because we had a deadline we needed to move by and couldnt risk them failing to move forward. They refused to refund us even though we havent been approved yet. Ive been a perfect tenant and have a perfect credit history. The other apartment we applied to was able to confirm everything and approve me within 2 days. I would have signed the lease if Auburn Ridge did the aame, but looking back now Im glad they showed that they have bad management before we signed the lease. Even though we lost the holding fee, I feel like we dodged a bullet. I would not recommend them to anyone and I should have listened to the other reviews regarding their management.

2018-10-16Horrible management.Almost 900 dollars in charges after move out for a unit that was far from perfect upon move in. The appliances are as old and non functioning as the management staff. Charges for a 500 year old non functioning “self-cleaning” electric oven not being clean. Give me a break. A 50 dollar charge for a dirty fridge that belongs in the landfill up the street. Was once double charged for rent and received a court ordered appearance from management stating we owed rent even though it was paid early. Once we confronted management about it, they blamed us for their inability to thoroughly check their ledger. Also you can enjoy trash/water charges being added on one-two weeks after the rent is due. Forget to check your portal and you’ll have generous charges from Auburn Ridge. Talk about a view!! The dumpster and 8am garbage truck 25 feet from your apartment are just wonderful. Do not, I repeat DO NOT, leave your bike below the stairs or near your entrance way. They will contact you by email (not phone call or text message), telling you to move your bike inside your apartment. If you don’t, you’ll find a cut lock and missing bike. Never bothered to get it back, Cathy apparently needs it more than me anyways. Maintenence staff are the only friendly and knowledgeable employees at Auburn Ridge. You’ll get used to seeing them after a month or two. Overall 0/5

2018-04-30Overall these apartments were pretty decent. I lived there for a year and i just moved out a month ago. When i first moved in i had a HUGE carpenter ant problem in my bedroom from the wood beging rotted below my window. It took them 2 months to replace the window. I didn’t like how they didn’t include water, sewer, and trash into the rent price, they tagged it on after rent was paid so then you had a balance to pay. I liked the space and size of the apartments,i had a two bedroom two bathroom lofted style. Pool was kept clean for the most part and rarely busy. Landscaping was kept up,they could have done better in the winter with plowing and shoveling.
