Worst service ever! We had a appointment at 6pm we drove a ways to get there just to be pushed out the door by 6:05pm while the guy who was talking to us did nothing but play with his empty pill bottle. He was out of the parking lot before we even got into our vehicle. Would definitely not recommend this place to anyone. Plus they lie on their ad’s which is also false advertising. And when I messaged them about this, they read my messages and never responded.

By far the worst used car dealerships in Kalamazoo. I bought a truck from them Oct 28 of 2021, it was the worst descion of my entire existence. The first week of buying the truck, the driver side turbo blew. It took option 1 two weeks to replace. About a month later the other turbo blew. Took about two weeks to replace. Literally a week later that same turbo blew again. Took another two weeks to get it fixed. Two weeks later the motor blew. Automaxx said they couldnt do anything for me, and take it to the Ford dealership ship. Ford dealership said it would be at least 4 months before they could do anything with the truck I purchased. Since then I lost my job, this truck is about to get repod. Went from having great credit to destroyed credit. Terrible place. They didnt even try to make it right.
Company is deceitful and uses false advertising to Luer customers in. Over priced cars with high miles. There are much much better dealers in Kalamazoo that don’t use shady sales tactics and sell much better cars with warranties for fair prices. Don’t waste your time or hard earned money. Go to a dealer who actually offers warranties and quality pre inspected vehicles. There isA reason they only have 1 star on Yelp
Came in on 07-27 cause I saw an ad on Facebook that said they approve anyone with a dollar down if not they give you 500. Well I wasted my time and gas to get told that they couldnt do anything for me.Never received the money either for not being approved so they were pretty much false advertising their sales event.
Terrible Terrible Service! I called today to inquire about their promotional flyer we received in the mail. And this is the rude response I got Read the fine print. You know how to read right?. Reprehensible. As a proud Immigrant, it saddens me to see businesses like this that bring a bad name to this great country. Shame on them.

From start to finish Evan has been such an amazing car salesman. He not only takes the time to thoroughly explain all of our options but also treats us like family. I gave him all the specifications of a vehicle I wanted and he came through in a very timely manner. Dont get me wrong every one of the employees the dealership on Gull Road are very professional and helpful but I am especially pleased with Evans attention to detail on getting us everything we needed and more in a vehicle. Car salesman took personal call started yelling at whoever was on the other line mid-showing of car and then proceeded to get upset with me and yelling at me over me not wanting a vehicle that has damage and return snatched keys out of my hand and proceeded to yell profanities at me as I returned worst experience buying a car ever didnt even discuss loan options amount of financing payment or anything before trying to get me in a vehicle

I was starting to get the “itch” for a new vehicle. My husband and I went to Auto Maxx because I bought a 2014 Terrain there. The Terrain has been a wonderful car to have, no issues at all. We were able to wander the lot without any pressure at all. I walked in and met Tim Born. Told him I wanted to look at the 2020 Telluride. He promptly got the keys and met us out there. He told us so many things about the Telluride and showed us the features from front to back. Highly impressive. Took it for a test drive and loved it! Tim is very knowledgeable when it comes to financing and car sales. I would recommend AutoMaxx if your looking for a vehicle.
Just to make it clear, this review is to share my first hand experience at Automaxx on Gull Rd Kalamazoo.We received a notice to enter a lottery of some sort to win a prize. We did and won something we can’t see until we get to their dealership.Upon our arrival at the dealership. One of them attended to us. Long story short, we test drove the car, reached a deal that we were okay with. I have two cars. I was going to trade in one and they were going to payoff the other so that we can have one payment. They received all my information and asked me to provide my insurance details and as well call my automotive finance company to request a 10-day pay off. All this happened on a Saturday evening 9/4/21. The plan was to return on Tuesday to conclude the deal since Monday was Labor Day. They asked me to put a $100 hold on it, but one of them said no need as they’re confident that I won’t disappoint. We went home happy that we’ve bought a car and shared the good news with a couple friends. However, the topic changed on Tuesday.You see, I had told them that I can only make it between 4 and 4:30pm since I was going to work and they said it was okay. So, I expected that all that is remaining was to conclude the deal…haha…I wish but far from it.They guy started by saying that he was looking for the documents that it was sales day on Saturday but he could not find them. There I know something was fishing, I calmed myself down and just observed. After about 30 minutes, he handed it over to the other person saying he was sorry but that he could continue with the deal. He apologized and asked me not to worry that everything is fine and we got approval already. Additionally, he said I just need to transfer your info and then we are good. After doing that, he showed me the cost which jumped over $6000 from the originally agreed price. On top of that, my other car won’t be paid but increased the value of my other car by $1,300. Hmmm… long story short, I declined. He kept going inside to the other boss guy, who later came out to increase the warranty and reduced the price by $3,000 l. My impression was that I will get cash for the car I was going to trade in. In the end I was wrong as the whole price bumped back up to over $33,000. As if that was not enough, he said that I would have to go to Grand Rapids to join a particular credit union to get a 4.xx% APR else I’ll get 8%APR. At that point, it was clear the gimmicks that was going on. I was shocked disappointed but refused to be mad. They ran my credit multiple times than initially told. They said 1 point. I have already lost 7 points as at the time this is written. Everything was a lie. The guy lied right at my face and denied it. I am so so so disappointed for the time wasted, the energy, and the credit pulls on my account. I intentionally left some names and details out for security reasons. However, if you’re going to go to this dealership, be careful!

We were approached by an employee who referred us to his family member at MVP outside of downtown.
I bought my very first car from Auto Maxx and had such great service. All of the salespeople were so helpful – I didn’t have the best credit at the time and they helped me find a car I wanted, I could afford and gave me tips on increasing my credit score. Fast forward about 4 years later, driving the same vehicle I originally bought but wanting an SUV that was updated. Jim, the owner, did EXACTLY what he did 4 years ago – in fact he not only got me what I wanted, but he exceeded my expectations and got me the SUV with all the bells and whistles. The process was unbelievably easy and required very little effort on my part (just going to sign and pick up the vehicle). I gave him the information he needed and within 2 hours I received a phone call saying – you’re all set! Come get your new (new to me) SUV! The miles were low, updated with all of the fancy stuff, a sunroof, clean and beautiful color. He went above and beyond for me just like he did the first time. When I went to pick it up and sign the paperwork, his staff was wonderful! Explained everything very clearly to me, they had me drive it to just be sure its exactly what I wanted (even though it was even better than what I wanted) and I signed the paperwork and drove home enjoying my new whip! I am so grateful for Jim and his team – I couldn’t have done it without them! Usually big purchases like a new vehicle are stressful – Jim made the experience worry free and took GREAT care of me. I HIGHLY recommend stopping in to see him and his staff if you’re in the market for a used vehicle!

The sales men refused to tell me the price of the car. They wanted to know what payment I could afford. This is a sales gimmick so they can set the price higher. They refused to listen when I told them I would handle my own finance. They insisted time and again that I test drive the car. I have driven these cars a number of times before. If the price is to high it doesnt matter how it drives. Do not go here. Go some where that will give you a price. Then work on the payment from there.
Went in after checking out the website, Bobby was awesome, got to check out the car, test drive it, they were great with the financing and the whole process went quick and easy. Drove in with and old vehicle, a few hours later I drove home with a sweet new ride that they gave me a very fair deal on. If you are even thinking about trading up for something better this is the only dealer Id reccomend.

Auto Maxx took advantage of my son-law, selling him a car with $544 monthly payments, his income $863. It was his 1st time buying a car and was naive enough to believe the salesman and trust him when he told my son-in-law they could make the payment. I see it as unethical and setting him up to lose the car and owe the difference. I would never recommend this dealer.
My experience was nothing less than spectacular. Lee (as well as other staff) were very friendly and knowledgeable. As a young woman I did not feel pressured or taken advantage of. I traded in my vehicle and got more for it than expected and I drove off with my dream car.
I received a mailer for a match to win game promotion for Auto Maxxs Reprocessed Car Sale. I had a match and immediately knew something was up (and its being run by FatWin, which I already know is sketchy as hell), so I did some Google searching and discovered that several other people have previously received the same exact pull-tabs from other car dealerships before, complete with the same or extremely similar serial numbers and the same exact combinations of symbols. Additionally it said to go online through a given link, and yet would not let me click continue after entering the code I was given. We went in to ask them to take us off the mailing list and their demeanor immediately shifted and they said they couldnt do that, wed have to talk to the post office since its sent out to everyone in the area.Although this might not technically count as a scam, its still incredibly deceptive, and quite frankly unethical. I cant imagine how many people are out there who have gotten their hopes up from this thinking they can pay off their tuition, actually afford enough food or proper housing, etc. only to find out theyve merely won $2 or a chance to enter yet another impossible lottery. Its cruel.

Buying a vehicle is already a stressful endeavor but they made my experience very simple and quick and helped me to get out of a nightmare of a contract with Easy Car. I recommend doing business here when looking for a vehicle especially if youve had issues in the past!!

Great customer service and friendly people are what you will find at this dealership. I went in on a Saturday to look for a vehicle but they didnt have what I was looking for. They asked me what kind of vehicle I wanted and how much I wanted to pay. The following Monday they called me and had two vehicles for me. I chose one of the vehicles that had everything I wanted on it and more. On top of this... Low mileage... special thanks to Teddie Taylor who pulled everything together for me along with Brian and Grant. Highly recommend you visit this dealership if you are in the market for a used vehicle.
The main reason this place has high ratings is because they tell you to do it as your signing the papers. I was happy with them until I realized I was going to be paying double the sticker price. I understand my credit is bad but that was ridiculous! And when I went in to tell them I couldnt do that price the salesman pushed me off onto the owner. He then proceeded to make me feel like they were doing me a favor by letting me even get a car and making sure I knew just how bad my credit was. When I said I had $5000 to $7000 I could buy a car with he smirked and said I can sell you something for that. I knew right then I was done with the place.I do not recommend this place to anyone! If you do business with this place make sure to ask for the CarFax they wont offer it and wont disclose any information unless you ask.
I was in the process of buying another vehicle on Sprinkle Road and Lake Street. While I was receiving an offer, Grant, at the Gull Road Auto Maxx, called me and told me he could make me a much better deal. Between finance charges and total price, Tom, the manager, saved me $13,600 and lower my interest rate from 21% to 6.4%.I was treated with respect during the entire process. Everyone was also very upfront and direct with me to belt hidden charges and fees and anything that I would have to pay. Grant also helped me get the lowest price available for auto insurance right on his computer.I definitely recommend Auto Maxx for anyone interested in finding a car.

Exceptional customer service! I had been playing around with the idea of getting an SUV for a while and stopped by when they were having a sale just to see what they had. The salesman, Rick, as well as the manager, Grant, were very patient with me while I was debating between different vehicles. After a few different test drives and conversations about what my monthly payments would look like, I was driving away in an SUV that I loved AND most importantly fit into my budget. Truth is.The events are scams- no prices are smashed, no one is getting a deal on their trade in.The salesmen lie so much they honestly confuse themselvesThey dont put the price on their vehicles so they have a better chance of making you over payDont go in expecting anyone to do any work to make a deal.2 stars. I went to the one on Gull Rd and dealt with Tom. They were outstanding. I was in a rough situation getting a different car and they were able to get me into a practically brand new 09 Ford Escape XLT. I love the car and having dealt with multiple dealerships in the past they were hands down one of the best. Honest and helpful Id recommend them to anyone and already have.

I didn’t think that I would be able to get a car with my credit and recent repo but auto max gave me a chance I was happy with my car the salesmen were very nice they made me feel welcome I needed an oil change they took care of that even gave me a car to use while it was getting done About a moth later I started having car trouble took the car in to get serviced and was given a car to use until mine was repaired now I’m having the same issues again with this car that I haven’t had for 6 months yet And i feel like This new guy is giving me the “run around” I scheduled an appointment with their towing service to pick my car up at 5:30 (it’s still outside my house) and I’m bumming rides to get to and from work since all of a sudden they don’t have a “loaner program” if it wasn’t for John and Patrick I would have slammed my keys on the table and gave the car back. I don’t feel like auto max got my back this time Who is this new guy & where is Grant?
Shady business practice...*Online pricing reflects $2,000 cash down or trade in value... written in the fine print at the bottom of the website that they wont tell you about until they run your credit and finally provide you the monthly price. Then when you are frustrated about the price change they go to their sales manager and knock it off MAGICALLY... leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you try to hide it and promote that price to drive people to your business.I understand that the used car industry promotes a price that does not include taxes and fees...thats normal, but $2,000 difference on the purchase price is a big difference!FYI, if you are going to put this pricing stipulation in the fine print at the very bottom of your web page, then put the * right next to the purchase price. Makes it look like shady business practice and can cause frustration and confusion with your customers. Hope others dont fall for your trap and waste their time.

This place has nice trucks out front. Very fast to come out to help you. However when I got inside to sit and talk, the guy was all over the place, answering his personal cell phone, multitasking. The chance I did get to talk he wasnt so quick to help when I told him that, I was looking for a truck with no more that a three hundred payment. He really didnt want to deal with me after that. I mean 300.00 is fair I would think. He took me out back showed me trucks older and more body problems not to mention way older than what I had. If youre looking for a nice car/truck good prices and low payments check out car Guru. Youll be much happier.
Patryk went above and beyond, he is awesome! He did his very best to relay messages and get things done. However.... I feel that some of my concerns were ignored and blown off! So I got a Hyundai Azera and on day one I asked for a carfax (took over a week to get) there were some body damage that was supposed to be repaired that was not! They completely ignored what I shown them and took some touch up paint and slapped it on one spot! The inside lights stay on so they sent me to a body shop and the issue still isnt fixed after sitting for over 3 hours. They car was dirty and was suppose to be detailed and that didnt happen either. My paper plate expires on the 12th and its the 11th. For the most part the staff is super nice but they dont get things done like they should.Arica

I have looked at a few different dealership, wasted time and money. So when I pulled into Auto Maxx I was already just tired of messing with looking for a car. when I pulled into the parking lot I was greeted by Aj who is a newer employee. Nice young man and polite! We talked a minute, he showed me several vehicles and we went on a few test drives. I finally decided which one I wanted and he got on the process. He was new so understandably things were a tad bit slower but it was not just on Aj, it was just the process to get me out of there with what I was willing to negotiate. Aj made it happen, I drove away by 3:30 with a 2016 Jeep Patriot and a full tank of gas! All this happened after I bought 5 vehicles through Easy car and when I went back to get another car, they lied to me and wasted my whole day! A huge let down. They tell you they specialize in 100% approval. I took a day off because they told me no cosigner no down payment just to get there and have no conversation except for a legit do you have money to put down but on the phone its oh come on down we can finance I suggest rainbow motor sales

Purchased a 2016 Silverado from Bobby. He told me over the phone about the truck. When I arrived a while later to look at the truck they just started to wash it, when they dried it they left the aluminum wheels wet, when I got home with the truck I found lots of oxidation on the wheels that was hidden by the water drops. Now Im looking at $1000 for new wheels. They also said they would order a new wheel for the spare that was missing but when I picked it up it was a used wheel in poor condition, also when I picked up (at the tire store) the spare i was told I needed new tires...not happy

This place is such a rip-off sham! My mother and I received one of those cards for the Black Friday Auto Liquidation Sale Event with the Monte Carlo game for this place. We live in Battle Creek, but the Auto Maxx in our city did not participate in this event. The card says if match the following logos you win the prizes for any of the respective logos. For instance, we had all 7s. Ergo, according to said card, we would win the $5,000 cash prize. My mom called a man named Chris P. and lets just say hes not the type of person you want to associate with... unless you like getting tricked. My mom asked her over the phone before we drove all the way there if any one has won this prize money yet and he said not yet, but if youve got all 7s you would be a winner. There is also a voucher on said card along with an advertisement for push, pull, or drag get at least $3,000 for your trade in along with a link with your name on it for a bonus for a used vehicle. In this case for my mom that would be an extra $1,000. She asked if the voucher would only go to new cars and the Chris stated that this shop doesnt have new cars and that there was a wide selection of used vehicles to choose from. She then asked if the voucher and the push pull and drag both count together, and he said no you only get one or the other. My mom then stated her financial situation to him that she is on disability and on a fixed income. She only owes $1,700 in credit cards requesting that he would write her a check to cover at least $1,500, and that she hasnt financed a car since 2000 when she was with her ex-husband (my dad) He told her that her credit was good. Over the phone and when we met him at first, he acted all nice to us, but when he requested a few pieces of information and we gave it him per his request, he completely changed. He first told us we were winners, but not the $5,000 prize. He instead showed us an Apple Smartwatch. My mom told him we already have devices similar to that, but thanks. Which lead me under the impression that he had more just that he didnt want to give one to us. He said that it was the last one anyway and instead gave us three WONDERFUL scratch off lottery tickets for a cash prize in which you would be more likely get struck by lightning than actually winning it! He then told us that because our income was so low, he only had one car to offer her, which was only three years newer than my moms current car. That really made me angry and my mom off because here we wasted a half an hour just driving to this place hoping for SOMETHING worthwhile only to get blatantly lied to our faces! My mom and I also noticed that there were no customers looking at the cars. These are the reasons why that Chris P. should not be hired for these events ever again because we probably werent the first and definitely wont be the last of his bait and switch ordeals! My mom and I were so upset. We dont want anyone else to share the same bad experience we did. Please dont fall for these types of marketing schemes.

This is a deceptive company and I hope the rest of you take this to heart. 78 reviews and almost all of them are 5 star, with the reviewer having left only one review, and they read like an advertisement. Very suspicious. //Edit: Auto Maxx claims they are legit reviews however. I edit this review to include this and remove my speculation as I always try to be as fair as possible in reviews.I received a mailer today for the Money Carlo match to win game promotion Auto Maxx participated in. Of course we had a match so my scam radar went up and I did a cursory Google search on it. This advertisement with the Money Carlo game is being used by dealerships across the country, youll peel back the tabs on your game card and will have matching 7s. Go ahead, Google it yourself, youll get a lot of hits warning about it. This advertising has caught the attention of the Better Business Bureau and state officials in multiple states.While not actually a scam, its an unethical, shady, deceptive, bait and switch advertising tactic for companies desperate to get customers through the door, only to have the customer p*ssed off when they realized they just got took. When its too good to be true, it always is. They might come on here defensively, or perhaps flag this review or try to get Google to take it down. They will say ah, but you have to read the fine print, its completely legal. Folks, you do not want to work with a fine print company. Theyre counting on you to be stupid and gullible. Is that the type of company you want to work with? Not me. Stay away.
Grant and Tom gave me a great amount on my trade in. I would tell people to go to automaxx for a vehicle. They are very professional when they deal with people. We have bought two vehicles from them so far.
I went to several place like carmax, jdbuyrider, and 2 other places was told 4,000 down and not why so much. Came to Automaxx Tom Hubbard got us in a very nice car very happy to be apart of the Automaxx family. I will tell everybody that if you need a car come here they will get you into come because they will work with you and get you the car you want with great prices. I could not be any more happy then ever.

I received a mail that said I could win a prize if I had 3 identical symbols that was in a piece of scratching paper attached with the mail, so I had 3 car symbols, then I went to this place and there was this guy Dean, who asked me a couple of questions about my car brand and model, where I live, what is my name and I signed the paper which was a survey as he told me.Then I won a $5 Walmart Gift Card !

Also had us test drive a car, then wanted us to finance one that we had zero interest in. I had went to 3 different dealer ships in the Plainwell area and was told that because my credit was not good that they couldnt help me. And this was after they were showed the available amount of cash that is my money. So my husband took me to Kalamazoo out on Gull rd to a place called Auto Maxx and my husband told them we have been to 3 other dealer ships and we know her credit is bad, but he then told Auto Maxx that his wife can pay for any vechile on ur lot straight off, that isnt what she wants to do. She wants to build her credit, so what can u gentlemen do to get my wife in a vechile that she chooses? And within about 2 to 3 bours later my wife is a very proud owner of a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. I had picked out a 2009 Dodge Journey through Capital Ones auto financing tool. Unfortunately we got there, 3 year old in tow; to find out it had been sold over the weekend! But we stuck it out and worked with Tyler to figure something out. Three test drives with a car seat (including his own demo car!) and three and a half hours later, we signed (our lives away, joking!) for a 2018 Toyota Corolla LE! Very happy with the experience! Worst experience ever there are scammers and a very pushy I would never go back and buy a car from them again I wasn’t happy with the car and they didn’t care they lied about the mileage and the insurance so please go to the car dealership not A fly by night like Auto Max I took the car back the next day and He lied said he would pay off the loan and I would get another car The Loan hadnt even went through yet the bank said he could have stopped it Instead he wanted me to buy another car without the 2 thousand I gave them and my trade in Very dishonest I know alot people that told me not to go there Wished I had listened

You gotta watch you self they smile in your face and when your vehicle needs service they brush you off they sell you vehicle that over price then when you come back after 18month or 2yrs to trade in they give you the run around duck up your credit and tell you leave it they not willing to give you another loan when all your payment on time watch your self beware

I was mailed an advertisement that said I won a prize. Upon calling to confirm I was met by rude responses who claimed I would have to come in to see if I had won. I called once and was hung up on and again to receive no definitive answer. Considering that this is a company to finances for large purchases I find it untrustworthy that they wouldnt take the time to give me a solid answer. It is clear to me that this company put customer service behind profits.

These guys try everything they can to put you in an awesome vehicle that you can afford and feel proud to drive. Look at my beautiful Jeep Cherokee Latitude I drove off their lot today after they worked at getting me a loan with my not perfect credit and a great interest rate!!! :-)

With No Pressure and after all our questions answered honestly and straight forward, we drove out with that 2020 Bikini Pearl Jeep Sahara JL and a wonderful car buying experience. The person we deal with was super knowledgeable about the vehicles and was able to help us find the vehicle we needed. 2022-07-18Went for the event, what a hoax. First impressions, not good. There was a man sitting in a chair out front spitting huge wads every few minutes, which is disgusting.. especially being next to the door where customers walk.. Told the rep what we were interested in if we were to buy; Chevy ONLY. The first truck he brought up was a Nissan Titan, he lost me as soon as it pulled forward because I had told him he wouldnt make a sale unless it was a Chevy... So I said no, he told me hold on and grabbed a second truck... A Ford... Not only was this again, not a Chevy, the moment he turned it on I knew I didnt want it. Loud squeals. I literally told him nothing but a Chevy and he tried showing me everything but... 🤦🏼♀️ Wont be going back due to pushy reps trying to sell you what you dont want and poor customer service and deceiving marketing strategies.
