We got a brand new Jeep that came off the lot with a known electrical malfunction that we found out happens when you sync the keys to the memory seat profile and can cause the memory seats to randomly go all the way forward and squeeze you into the steering wheel or lean all the way back. That’s bad enough but then they told us we’d have to wait two months for them to fix it even though the TSB for this issue says it just needs a software update. That the issue wasn’t addressed in advance was frustrating and a 2 month wait for a software update is not great either but that’s not the reason for this review…We waited the 2 months for our appointment which was today. My wife rearranged her work day and drove there with our baby and, after waiting in the lobby for some time, they told her they couldn’t look at it today and we’d need to leave it with them to wait on their lot over the weekend for at least 3-5 business days (5-7 calendar days) before they can even look at it and that we’d need to get our own rental car for as long as it takes for a manufacturing defect that’s covered by the warranty.Waiting two months only to be to told our appointment would not be kept after we were already there and that we would have to cover the cost of a rental for a known warranty repair is not the outcome I had imagined. They could have at least called to let us know that they wouldn’t be able to keep the appointment and rescheduled us. That would have been bad enough but would have saved us the opportunity cost of wasting that time.What do we do now? Booking another appointment for months out hoping the same thing doesn’t happen again all while fighting with this defect doesn’t sound like a great solution

Comment: 1st I must say I NEVER write a review but... I must this time. Dont buy from them! I read their reviews before I went to see this car but I went anyways. They had the car I wanted period. That wasnt the problem. My problem was the experience I had at this dealership. The worst service ever. Salesman didnt know squat about this used car. But the car was the model I had been looking for and it had been on their lot for 97 days so it was discounted $7,000. They wanted it sold and I bought it. My problems started when they delivered the car with a big crack in the windshield and missing a key and paperwork. I immediately called and emailed the salesman with no return phone call. So next I get to Rachel a sales manager. She promises for a week to get the windshield repaired and key made. Says safelight will be here next week. I stay home all day know one ever shows up. Next I get Alex another sales manager. He does get safelight out here a week latter. But still no key I call him again now hes basically blowing me off saying he will now send a email to see about a key. He said he would take care of it a week ago. He has no idea if or when Ill get my key. So today its been 5 weeks since I bought my new car and I can now drive my new car. (Couldnt drive with a crack in windshield) Thats my experience with this dealership. Worst customer service in my life. Go anywhere but AutoNation.

Comment: I have a Jeep under warranty. I had it towed to the nearest Jeep Dealer - these guys. The Jeep will not move out of park and lights would not turn off. 3 days after towing it here, I get a call from Danny - says battery is dead and in order to run diag, they need $540 for a battery. I reminded him that the battery died because of a warranty covered item. He suggested I go buy a battery, bring it to the Jeep, change it out for them OR give them $540. YOU ARE the service dept of a dealership! You have the ability to hook up the Jeep to a battery charger and run diag. Danny then said ok, I guess we wont do anything, feel free to come get your Jeep. The battery is dead because the lights wont turn off and it sat on your lot for 3 days! Unbelievable. Im calling a tow now to take it to a real Dealership in Escondido.Update; See the response? I dare everyone to try to call that number and get to any Manager. Its an IVR system that just pushes you to voicemail. Notice they dont bother just calling me.... The response is all for show.

Cannot schedule anything that’s not 2 months out, no loaner cars, zero helpful employees, zero available “managers”, and generally an unpleasant experience, every single time. Awful.Already left this same review and their response was to call the General Manager. The number provided was the general phone number and of course no Managers are available. These intentional cirlces are par for the course here at Jeep Carslbad.Update: The follow up from management included a service team member reaching out to tell me they were going to fire him for my review online. Jeep Carlsbad Management Team: your service managers are doing their jobs very well, this is not on them. Threatening their jobs is shameful and probably illegal, especially when the onus is one you. I challenge you to do what is right, and to make this right with my Jeep. You will find my contact info in your system and I expect a phone call from a member of the management team.

Comment: Went in for recall and oil change. They did not provide loaner or rental. Staff was nice and did a little extra helping with trunk liner that was coming loose (recurring issue with this vehicle). But the interior was quite dirty when they returned the vehicle with greasy handprints on the outside and inside, even clear black grease on the lighter color plastics. Would have been nice to take the extra 5 min to wipe off the grime so I didnt have to do it myself

Comment: Can I give 6 stars? I needed an oil change and they were pretty booked up. Phone call and online didnt get much done to schedule anything. So I walked into the shop Friday at 4pm. Danny got me in Monday morning no problem and had my truck done by noon! They communicated about everything with me. Cabin filter needed changing they said.......(oh sure it does......I am always skeptical) then I got a photo of it and it was very dirty! The engine air filter was in the picture too and they literally said it looks dirty in the picture but it still has some life in it and we do not recommend changing that one yet! What!!!?? They are being conservative and not having me spend more money! Who does that? Dealers are notorious for upcharging things it seems. Not these guys! Fast, easy and friendly service from Danny and team!! What more could you ask for????

I wanted to use one of my oil changes, which I already paid for, and get my tires rotated, so I tried to schedule an appointment. I called to find that I would have to wait a month and a half just to get this simple service, part of which I have already paid for. I am ending up having to go all the way to San Diego to redeem one of my oil changes. Ridiculous! You would think a customer who had made a purchase at a specific dealer location would take a little bit of a preference, at least for something this simple.

Comment: Unbelievable! The incompetence exudes from the service department and spills over every aspect of this organization! I leased a new car from this dealer in March 2024. About a week later I discovered a chip in my windshield. I took the car to service department and told it is covered but glass need to be ordered. About two weeks later, I scheduled appointment to have glass replaced. On day of appointment I took car to service department around noon and told they would have it done by 430 so I could pick it up and go to appointment I had in afternoon. Received a call around 230 and was told the service department ordered the wrong glass and the old glass had already been removed. The Autonation solution was to put me in a rental car at their expense until the glass could be replaced next day. What they failed to tell me was1. Rental car agency is 5 miles away from dealer2. A deposit/credit card are requiredThis was not my problem but suddenly became my problem ad I have inconvenienced and bore additional costs I did not intend to incur.Autonation does not value your time nor your customer loyalty! Their dealerships are run by a bunch of degenerates who think they are more important than their customers. If you have a choice other than Autonation I strongly urge that you go with the alternative. I am so thoroughly disappointed with this organization, I will search for another dealership to service my car.Addendum to post 5/9/24:Received response from owner who gave a general phone number that has 4 options, none of which go to an operator or GM. This is yet another attempt to waste my time. The platitudes regret your experience, would like to help turn your experience around.. are shallow at best. The GM has my number! Its on the service record. If the GM was truly interested in resolving this and turn around my experience, s/he would contact ME. Until then, I stand by my original assessment of Automation. They do not value your time! Their service is deplorable... Comment: I, not my wife, went to AutoNation to shop for a truck for my work. I was very specific on what I needed concerning both the vehicle and the accessories, such as the tonneau cover. I was going to be trading in a vehicle and paying cash for the balance.I could write a book about all the issues that we had concerning this purchase, such as the vehicle having an Apple airtag hidden in it (and they only gave me 1 key to the car...wheres the other key?), issues with the tonneau cover, etc.Jacob in parts and Benjamin in service were fantastic! Beyond those two, it doesnt seem like anyone else at the dealership has any interest in future business from me.I went there, I picked out the truck for my aviation business, I made the purchase agreement, I brought in the cashiers check to pay for it, and the sales manager (or whoever) put my wife as the primary on the vehicle. At first, the parts department would get confused when they would pull up the truck, because all the records are now in my wifes name. I received solicitation emails from the sales guy to my wifes name at my email address. (I sent him a message concerning that and never received any response!) Today I even received an email (to MY email address) telling my wife about the 90 Sirius trial in her new truck.

Comment: All around great experience! Ive had an issue with my jeep for a few months now and Ive taken it to 2 dealerships, spent hundreds of dollars on rental cars, and the jeep issue persisted. This was my 1st time at this jeep dealership & I had a great experience! My technician was Michael and he was very nice, professional, and kept me updated on the status of my jeep. It was in the shop for about 4 days and my jeep is finally fixed! I cant thank Michael and the mechanics enough. 10/10 recommend this place!

Everything went smoothly in the process. GM Alex paid us a visit after we were finished with the buying process, which was a great gesture of gratitude. I didn’t know Autonation was a big corporation until they let me know, it just felt like a small business where everyone was glad to say hi.

Comment: I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid. The first week of December 2023, it turned off while getting on I-5 . Had it towed to dealership that day. After 3 months at dealer was told that they were having issues with explaining issue to the Star team at Chrysler. They had me call Chrsler toto raise the issue with Chrysler. About a month after calling Chrysler they sent the replacement batteries to the dealer. I picked up the car. The floor liner we had in the van was left in a heap in the van. Within the week the red service hybrid electric vehicle syetm came on . Dropped off the van. 4 days later was told it was fixed. The same message has been coming on and off for the last couple of days. NEed to take it back again. Think its a probably a chrysler problem. But my having to call Chrysler seems odd and car coming back in a mess inside is an issue

Chris made sure the vehicle I was interested in purchasing was just as advertised prior to me heading over. There were promises verbally made, which scared me since not everyone has integrity anymore and since I was not financed, they had no ties to me once I left. Once we took the car in for service we were told it would be 1.5 weeks to be diagnosed leaving our busy family with 1 car. 1.5 weeks later we were told we need a new transmission costing over 10k. The car was serviced by this same dealership ONE MONTH prior, so how did they not pick this up earlier??? We decided to take it to an independent transmission shop for a 2nd opinion and guess what? NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION! Jeep tried to rob us of 10k!!! On top of all that, the customer service rep was borderline rude/curt on several occasions. Just terrible all around and we will never go back and we are getting rid of the Jeep immediately.

Comment: I had the WORST experience shopping for a car from this location this week. Went into to test drive a wrangler and at the moment did not purchase the car because I wanted to sleep on it. The next day I expressed to the sales agent CHRIS that I have every intention to buy the car but would not be able to make it into the dealership for 2 days due to work. After some back and forth I was told that the car could not be held (first come first serve) which I understand. I then made accommodations with work to make it into the dealership the next morning to be sure I would get the car. Said accommodations were expressed to the chris and that I would need to be out of the dealership no later than 1030am. I was assured that if I submit a finance application I would be out by said time and that all paperwork would be squared away by the time I showed up first thing in the morning at 9am. I then filled out the credit application, which to my hesitation, I did with the expectation that the next day I would be driving said car off of the lot. 845 morning of I get a text saying that the finance manager is running late and that I would not actually make it out of the dealership on time but 1045a instead, which would then make me late for my shift. I then expressed to Chris that I absolutely could not be late to which he responded with you cant be 15 minutes late? which was unprofessional. I THEN spoke to the manager PATRICK about the situation who then told me My apologies, this was poor training on my part as a manager, my sale agent should have never given you a timeline as these things can take up a lot of time. I then asked if, considering the circumstances, he would hold the car so I can purchase it a day later when I am not working to which he continued to tell me it was first come first serve and that no accommodations would be provided and the car remains on a first come first serve basis despite all my efforts and intentions to buy the car. So in short, I ran my credit, set up insurance, and made work accommodations for a car I was told would be ready only to be lied to. I would advise to proceed with caution as these folks dont care about their customers, better off at carmax

Comment: Look. I went to AutoNation in Oceanside. I spent weeks in fact a month calling to try to make an appointment. It all started last OCT. Called Carlsbad Ram and the phones routed me to Oceanside and around and around cause no one answered the phones. I called managers I called sales. I called Glen and Miguel and the Managers over at Carlsbad, one of whom called me bub. I called Poway. It was a waste of time to get an initial appt. I dropped the truck off in Nov. Left it for ten days. No one looked at the truck. Picked it up. Fast forward a couple more months thinking in January I dropped the truck off again. I think they looked at the truck and told me the part was out of warranty. Wouldnt have been had someone answered the phone in Oct as that was when the warranty was up. I talked to Danny told him I love the truck. I do. I only put 89 in the tank and well you get the idea. I baby it. Barley ever take it to 3000RPMS. Anyways nothing got fixed. Danny told me to be patient and he was going to submit it to goodwill. Fast forward to End of Feb or early March. My claim was approved along with the two recalls. I drop the truck off. I was told it would take a day. About two or three days later Danny called me and told me someone elses transmission went and I should pick it up cause he wasnt sure if he could get it fixed that week. I asked if I could just take the parts I think he was checking on that when the boss(my boss) told me to just leave the truck. I think the following Wednesday it was fixed. It is a 30 min drive to Oceanside for me. All together I have lost hours on this process, but they did take care of it. All it was was replacing the rear coils and struts. Maybe a 2-3 hour job according to YouTube, but you need jacks to hold the axel up and the truck while you swap out the coils. I probably could have just bought new Bilsteins and brought it to the mechanic which was the plan if it didnt get approved. Was just waiting on the tread to wear a little more. Honestly I was expecting to drop it off and pick it up 10 days later fixed and ready to go. It was a much more difficult process. It made me realize how important the service department is when considering purchase of a new vehicle. We have 3 Rams currently. Flatbed, and 2 1500s Bighorn trim and Laramie Trim. We had another 1500 sport with the Alpine system and all blacked out. Love that truck to. The story I was told is that when Bob Baker sold to Autonation it just didnt go smooth. I am not sure why. Todd I think the new manager over at Oceanside explained that it all started with the pandemic then parts shortages then semiconductors then the UAW strikes etcetera. I am giving 3 stars because they did fix the truck. Its fair. Its not the business (autonation) fault and in the end bad reviews really only hurt the employees. We are on the same team. constructive critique is what I was taught in kindergarten along with the golden rule. Im still trying. Take care,.

Comment: My check engine light came on so I called to make an appointment, I was told it would be 3 weeks out. When I showed up for my appointment I was told they were backed up and it would take 2 to 3 days before they could get to it. If I had to wait 3 weeks for the appointment why was I told it would be another 2 to 3 days. 5 days later I got a text message that the check engine light was on because of a faulty purge valve. The mechanic also suggested that I should do a fuel cleanse, brake flush, front differential service, rear differential service and a transfer case service. Since the car is 8 year old with 35,000 miles and the owners manual said it didnt need any of these additional services until it was 10 years old or 120,000 miles I passed on the options. I was then told by text it would take another day or 2 for them to fix the purge valve. The following day I received a text that the work has been completed. Why couldnt they call me, why is everything by text?

I couldnt even get the original Service Advisor I left my Jeep with to call Scott to confirm anything Scott said and I left over-charged and paid for services I didnt ask for and things that Scott said would be covered to make up for the previous issues. My Jeep was there for 3 weeks and the bill was jaw dropping, work that the dealership should have performed when my truck was there for those repairs on my front end, I had to pay for out of pocket. I shouldnt have had to pay for that when it should have been done when my Warranty company had already paid for that. Super disappointed I allowed myself to be played again by this place.

Comment: Drove up from Chula Vista to see a Grand Cherokee after inquiring the day before. While test driving, Misha asked me to pull over and then asked us to get out of the vehicle. He wanted us to look at the car from outside of the lot. Never had a sales rep do this before and I must say its a pretty good idea. It allowed me to picture the vehicle in my everyday life driving around with it.I decided I wanted to crunch some numbers with it when we got back to the lot. One of the managers Morgan ended up coming over after some back & forth and asked where I needed to be. She definitely worked her magic and got me where I needed to be with the monthly payments. This was the first time I felt like a dealership actually WANTED to get me where I needed and worked with me. Misha was really nice and helpful and so was Morgan! It was worth the drive up and definitely recommend them to everyone! so far so good with my Grand Cherokee as well!Only reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because I had to drive up the following weekend to get my car smogged by them.

When you pull up to the service center there are dozens of cars backed up, created a dangerous situations for customers and their rides home. Comment: Worst experience!Brought my jeep in and they did a diagnostic which they stated I needed a lot of things done to fix it I then told them I had extended warranty which they said I didn’t, I took my jeep to the dealership that I bought my jeep from which it’s an hour drive, they pulled up my insurance and did a diagnostic and they said I only needed a couple things done so I showed them the paperwork of what Carlsbad AutoNation quoted me and they said I should take my jeep back there to get the other things they said I needed done which it’s covered in my warranty which I did, at first it was fine they took my jeep and said they were going to get it done, couple days later I asked them to see when I would be able to pick up my jeep they stated that they haven’t done it yet so i asked if they provide or how do I go about a rental they try to dodge the question! I waited couple more days and they said the same thing I waited a couple more days after that and then they tell me that they couldn’t do anything to my jeep that I can pick it up anytime which it’s been 9 days already!! I go today to pick up my jeep and I talk to a guy that said he would help me, while I’m waiting around he passes me with attitude and I told him if there’s any news he then answered with an annoyed face so I questioned him about it he then puts his hands on me to try to show me the way which I did it back and told him not to put his hands on me!The guy Scott He just had this chip on his shoulder type of attitude!when I talked to the other manger Miguel to tell him I want to escalate this situation he then stats that the guy Scott I just talk to was the owner so basically there’s nobody I can complain to and nothing I can do.so now it’s like when they thought I didn’t have warranty they were trying to charge me a arm and a leg and when I showed them prove they kept my vehicle for a long time just to let me know they can’t do anything about it! I can’t even complain or No reimbursement for all the days they kept it for while I have to pay for rides for me to go to work or take my kids to and from school which it’s 4 different locations! That whole place is a scam! They even said they were going to wash the vehicle which wasn’t surprising that they didn’t

Got to dealership and paperwork was faster than any car purchase in the past, helped to already have a loan already ready to go. They had things to keep my kids entertained and engaged with them while closing out all the paperwork. Highly recommend purchasing from them.

Comment: This place takes way too long to get your vehicle done. I made an appointment over the phone but was told they are booked over a week out. Fine. Upon arriving for my booked appointment I was told it would take 3-5 business days to complete. Well that was a bold face lie and took almost 2 whole weeks. The only issue was an oil filter housing leak which is very common in jeeps. This should have taken a day to do but instead my jeep sat there for days and I had no vehicle to do my job. Which I told the service specialist and felt like he did not care at all. When they tried to get me to spend more money on little things to fix and I declined that’s when I felt it took way too long for me to get my jeep back. Less money means not a priority to their mechanic to fix. Never going back here again. Not worth it.

Cant get anyone to answer phones or return messages. I had to drive to dealer to discuss issue, scheduled an appt a week later. When I took my car in, the part was not there, they had to get it from L.A. so no ETA. Left my car, no phone contact, so came back later in day to hopefully pick up car. It ended up it was ready, but no one had called me. Unreal .

I have taken my 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL to Bob Baker for service and was not charged for the Oil Change because I purchased extended care when I bought the Jeep and Bob Baker recognized this as it showed I was covered. This AutoNation dealer would not honor my prepaid extended care and told me there was nothing they could do. That’s fine with me. They will never have to worry about me because I will NEVER bring my Jeep back to them for service again. And I will tell all my friends how I was treated at AutoNation and advise them to stay away from this dealership. You go guys!

Comment: I recently brought my Jeep Wrangler into the AutoNation Jeep shop for a recall on the clutch. My service advisor was Ben and he was very professional during the entire process. He explained the job could take from 3-5 days. I asked Ben if a loaner vehicle would be provided during this time frame? At first he stated he wasnt sure and told me he would check and get back to me. Ben called me back and stated they would give me a rental for three days, adding the repair should be done in that amount of time. Ben arranged for a Lyft to drive me to the rental facility and I was provided a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee.Fortunately the repair only took a 1.5 days and I was back into my Wrangler. The repair solved my problem and everything underneath the vehicle looked good, no leaks or sign of any damage caused by the repair. I was pleasantly surprised how well the entire process went and the 5 star service I received. Kudos to Ben and AutoNation Jeep.

Added to the non appointments, there were more customers than they seem to be able to handle.Communication with the service tech was poor, until he gave me a text number. That greatly improved the response. Prior to that phone calls to service were not answered and messages not returned. I did send an after service text that was never answered.The cost of the services is high. Thankfully I found a coupon on their website that reduced the bill.I did appreciate the shuttle service, and the driver, Anthony, in particular. I am currently handicapped and he was very helpful and considerate.Now that my warranty has run out, I’ll look for service alternatives.

They have always,a seemed to have great csr in service department but only stay a couple years and move in which I hate. U quit going after civid because no more Saturday appointments. I recently went in as my Chrysler needed extensive work and was assigned Calen. I pray he does not leave. He is a knowledgeable, professional, kind and empathetic person. He answered all my questions helping me decide on what I needed to do with my car. My husband recently passed away ( without notice suddenly cardiac arrest, ) and he was so kind that u will continue to return to this dealership because of Calen.

Comment: I wasn’t going to write this review, but then their customer service sent me an email requesting that I do, so I thought “why not? “I’ll start by saying that I’m shot there’s so many positive reviews for this location. Maybe there mostly in reference to the sales center?The service at the service center was abysmal. truly embarrassing. It was a shame that the staff lived up to every negative perception of a sleazy car mechanic.Beyond that, I had an easier time communicating with my dead grandma, then I did with our two service advisors, Rob, and someone else who left half way through our service.They couldn’t return phone calls, they couldn’t call with updates or when they said they would, they couldn’t get correct quotes, they couldn’t get the parts we needed in a timely manner… the list goes on.If you need repair, I would recommend going to a local mechanic. It’s painfully clear these guys don’t care about the customers coming in.

It caused me a great deal of stress.Perhaps it was the fact that they were in the process of transitioning from Fiat Chrysler to AutoNation—( I found out after the fact), but they kept my three long weeks, with the majority of my phone calls going unanswered, So much so that I finally had to go through the Sales Office, speak to a manager and ask them to kindly have Service Dept call me!To boot; the issues i had it towed there for, were not repaired. The only difference that was made is, it’s shiny because, to make up for the horrific run-around i was given, i was offered a complimentary detail, which was nice but; I would’ve much preferred to have the issues I took it in for, rectified!Not a happy camoer!

Comment: Awful Awful Awful. Do not take your vehicle here to get serviced. Our car has been with the dealer for over two weeks for something they were supposed to repair. We have been called on three separate occasion and falsely told our vehicle was ready. The first time after a $50 uber ride (one way) the dealership said they called us in error. The second time they called back and said they drove the car around and dont think the problem was fixed. The third time, my husband drove the car and said the problem was worse than before and now unsafe for driving. The service advisor was about to send a vehicle unfit for the road back to my family knowing we have two small children in the car. This is the absolute worse experience I have ever had....almost to the point where we are contemplating selling the car so we wont have to deal with such awful service. Oh and good luck calling and actually talking to someone! No one answers the phone.

Comment: I had such a clunky and non customer centric experience, I was shocked. From the start, working with CULA (an associate of AutoNation) was absolutely awful. I kept getting the runaround from CULA employees who could not properly articulate their own rules and regulations. The solution from AutoNation was to sell them my car anyway, despite the clear verbiage in my CULA contract that I am NOT ALLOWED TO DO SO. AutoNation rode the very fine line of bending the rules versus actually perjuring myself (per the wording of the CULA contract). They wanted me to sell them my car despite the contract, telling me things would “probably be fine”. I later found out from CULA directly that the check would be returned and I would be in violation of my contract. Thank goodness I actually read my documentation, because I would have been on the hook while AutoNation benefits or at least avoids penalty. If CULA is your business partner, I highly recommend learning their rules and not trying to work around them at the expense of your customer.Once I finally received approval from CULA (after 3 weeks), I took my Jeep to AutoNation to sell it. *Antonio was very helpful and did his best to get everything squared away- this review does NOT have anything to do with him. He did his best to help despite not really having all of the financial information and tried his best even though it wasn’t really his job to do so.*I was told the loan would be closed within 10 business days. Four weeks later and the loan has just now closed ONLY because I was a “squeaky wheel” and kept following up with AutoNation because I had a payment coming up. Morgan was very helpful and prompt in ensuring the loan was paid off and corrected AT THIS POINT, but it honestly never should have taken this long. This was such a frustrating experience despite Morgan and Antonio’s best efforts, and I would appreciate a follow up to understand why this happened.

Comment: This business is beyond horrible!!!! I had work done. The work and the service advisors were great. The company however is a mess!!!! First off you cannot get a hold of anyone by phone. No matter what you select on the menu it circles back to the menu. If you happen to make contact you will be just put on hold and no one will answer, I paid $1000.00 plus 7.75% tax for a core deposit on a $375.00 radio. I had Autonation install the radio. Calen in service handled the repair and wrote the invoice reflecting the $1000.00 core deposit and the $77.50 tax ad due back to me. I received an email showing $1000.00 back to my credit card. Im still missing $77.50. I cannot get ahold of anyone to get the rest of my money. Its 78 miles round trip to drive there. This is unacceptable. I saw a review, on another website, where Autonation responded with a phone number for the General Manager. They asked that reviewer to call so their concerns could be addressed. That phone number goes to that menu to nowhere I previously mentioned.

Comment: Found the Vehicle I wanted (2014 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X) at Autonation Jeep Carlsbad. The price was good, not great. Tried to negotiate a little and they would not budge at all (not even $200). I really wanted the jeep so I decided to buy it anyway. From Thousand Oaks I traveled 3hrs to Carlsbad to buy the Jeep. The buying process was fairly painless. There were two issues I found while inspecting it that I had them promise to fix and write up on a due bill. They told me that I could have the work done at their sister store in Valencia (closer to my house). While doing the final paperwork the manager comes to me explaining that they under priced the Jeep and they werent making any money on it so the only thing they would take care of is the agreed upon items on the due bill.Drove the jeep home and then called Autonation Jeep Valencia to schedule my due bill items. They informed me they couldnt get me in for 3 months. I contacted my sales person and explained, they said they would see if their manager could get them to get me in sooner. Days went by with no response, sent messages and emails with no response, finally they called back and said to contact the service manager in Valencia. Called Valencia and set up a drop off time. Since I live in Thousand Oaks I asked about a rental, loaner or shuttle to get me home and they said they dont cover anything, I would have to speake to the people at Carlsbad. Once again contacted my sales person who mentioned that Autonation has a Lyft account and they should be able to get me back home. He said he would speake to his managaler and get back to me. Didnt hear back so about 3 days later I messaged him asking about it. He said he spoke to his manager and he said they wouldnt cover anything and I was on my own to get back home.This is honestly the worst service Ive ever experienced, especially after spending $32,000.I would absolutely NOT recommend Autonation Carlsbad or Valencia for anything.

Comment: When I initially called the parts department and had questions, Danny was on point and was great. Very personable and knowledgeable. Helped me out greatly. My only issue was when I had to cancel my purchase. This auto nation dealership has just one person in the parts department. So trying to answer the phone for parts, handling customers in the parts department and also trying to go into the system to handle returns/refunds is next to impossible. My time and money are important to me. Delaying the return of my money and wasting my time with phone calls back and forth to complete a refund is unacceptable in todays world. If the dealership is unwilling to hire more people in the parts department to handle the volume of customers both in the store and on the phones, then have an automated or online source to complete the refund.

Comment: Took my truck in for an intermittent problem with my air conditioning. I was asked if I could leave the truck for a couple of days. I was under the assumption that a day to diagnose the problem and a day to make repairs. A call to the shop on the second day to check the progress was very disappointing. I made several attempts but the automated system was unable to connect me with a service provider. I drove to the service center to find out that that my truck had not been looked at yet. I was told that they would attempt to look at my truck today but there were several other vehicles that had been there for months ahead of me.A little more honesty up front about how long service would take would have been nice. The truck is used for my work and being without it for an unknown time is unacceptable. I was very disappointed in the response from the service technician so I requested my truck be returned to me so that I could get it serviced somewhere else.

Comment: I will start with the positive which is that the staff is very friendly. I purchased a Jeep Cherokee around 5 months ago and have had several issues with not receiving an after market part or a credit for part, the radio doesn’t work, the steering wheel froze and the car would not start because of an after factory alarm the dealer installed. My car has been in at least three times for radio issues. I drove off from the last service and by the time I got home the radio froze again.

Comment: From the beginning to the end I had so many problems with my Ram 1500 and the customer support at the third party service Auto Nation. Similar to all business of course they are “Limited Techs”. My truck just hit 37000 miles (slightly over the warranty). Three fuel injectors went out within 40 days. I couldn’t get an appointment for 2 weeks and zero assistance with a rental.Lastly,I called the Auto Nation at least 5 times across the span of 3 days. I finally went in…. I was told they’re having telephone issues. I confirm the number and called. The call went through but ringing in the office, I called a second and a third time….nothing. I told him I’m calling right now…… He didn’t have his ringer on. So that helps explain why no one was answering.

The car is running great now and they got both batteries replaced and covered under warranty. The staff were all friendly and informative.Ill definitely be getting my jeep serviced at AutoNation from now on.

Comment: I’m leaving a review because auto nation requested it, otherwise I’d never leave this. Zero stars. Single worst service experience of my life. I had an appointment to follow up a computer code issue that my mechanic said I need to take to the dealer as Jeep has made certain codes proprietary. I was quoted a 2-3 day turnaround. My car ended up there for 11 days and during that time I got essentially no feedback. I had to go in person to get an update because the 20 calls I made went unanswered. Turns out there wasn’t much of a big problem anyway, they just swapped a faulty battery. There was essentially no work done on the car during the entire time. This is a problem with the new ownership and lack of staffing. There were no loaner car options after the car had been there a week. My service advisor Caylen was very friendly and the only saving grace of this terrible experience, you could see he’s as frustrated as I was. All of the bob baker service techs quit when the ownership changed. I can see why.

Comment: Since transitioning from bob baker to autonation, the service center is overwhelmed and understaffed. The prices of all services have dramatically increased, but because of the volume of cars they’re attempting to service, the wait time for your car to be completed is ridiculous. They also did not tell me that they only do diagnostic work at the beginning of the week, so be warned if making an appointment. I felt bad for the staff on-site because it was clear that they were very overwhelmed and had little support from management. It took me 8 days to get diagnostic work back and was quoted $2000+ to replace a part that cost $150, which would’ve been much less under the previous ownership. The two stars is just for the on-site staff because I know they are doing their best under these difficult circumstances pushed down from their new ownership. I would recommend going elsewhere for your service.

Comment: I bought my Jeep Wrangler new here in 2017 and was only serviced here. I have been calling for the last 2 days to get an appointment as my low battery light is on. I tried every service number I could find. I left two messages yesterday, one early and one late, and another early this morning, all explaining about the battery situation. No reply. I just tried again and got through, and although the woman was very nice she offered a date 17 days from now. I am not taking that chance. Would you chance a dead battery while you are away from home? At the very least this business has a staffing problem, which I find indicative of a poorly run one. If they are so busy why don’t they hire more assistance so they can provide the customer service they wish they could.

Comment: Overbooked, understaffed & the online phone numbers are for the previous dealer, Bob Baker. I was on time for my scheduled Friday appointment. I was supposed to get an update on Monday...no call. Tuesday was a holiday. Wednesday, no call until I went through Sales to get my service advisors direct number. After several messages I finally got a call. Was told my Jeep will be ready Thursday by 2:30. This whole time I was paying out of pocket for a rental. I returned it, went to get my Jeep and instead I waited on a bench until 4:45...Im not impressed. The only way I will return is if I get my previous service advisor Michael Griffis. Yesterday he was helpful even though he was just as busy as my advisor. Please correct your online phone numbers.

Comment: Did not know Bob Baker was bought out. Called at least 20 times to schedule an appointment. Was bounced around several numbers. Never took my call. Drove to the service center on Industry. Waiting about an hour to finally get an appointment. Was never quoted the cost. After my oil change and 2 fuel filters replaced on my 2018 Ram 2500, my bill was almost $800 for basic service. About $200 more than when Bob Baker owned it. After paying my bill I went to my truck and it wouldn’t start. They didn’t purge the air out of the lines. After about 10 attempts my truck finally started. When I got home I noticed that my driveway had something dripping on it. Crawled under my truck and there was diesel every where. I had to get contact cleaner and my pressure washer out to clean my axel and suspension off. I will not be going back!

Comment: I have had my 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid serviced at Bob Baker a couple times. The first experience was awful. I had to take my car there six times in nine weeks. And the rental car policy is a joke. $35 a day? I drive a minivan and need an equivalent vehicle. I ended up borrowing my aunt’s car five times.Now more recently, during an oil change they discovered I need a new radio (again). Supposedly they ordered it but I haven’t heard from them in two months. I’ve texted (their supposed preferred mode of communication) multiple times and called multiple times, only to leave a voicemail. Still waiting on a return text or call…

They dont care. Jeep is still broken, still under warranty, and worst of all, they dont do loaner vehicles. At the time I visited there were also other makes for sale (used).Upon arrival I was greeted with a friendly smile by Ali. I was able to test drive a car with no hassel. During my negotiation, I also met a friendly sales manager.Unfortunately, even with my check ready to go, the negotiation didnt go as planned. My offer and the dealership expectation were not in sync. I was disappointed but I felt Ali was too as I didnt see the smile on his face by the time I left.Overall I had a pleasant experience.

When I needed my Jeep serviced but couldn’t drive because of a foot surgery, they were kind enough to pick up my car from my home and deliver it back to me when the work was done. They were easy to get ahold of and always got back to me promptly. The staff are very friendly and helpful.I bought my Jeep from them a couple years ago which was also a wonderful experience all the way around. I highly recommend them for all of your needs!

Comment: I have been a customer the past 9years. Never received great service but recently brought in my 2020 Grand Cherokee for a hissing noise when the AC is on. I didn’t purchase an extended warranty because I have had 4 Jeeps in the past. None had issues after 2yrs of owning and have purchased all vehicles brand new. This noise is caused by a leak in the evaporator drain. Total costs to repair is $3K. I declined the repair and will take it to a private repair shop. But when I picked up my vehicle the AC was not working at all. I left a voicemail for the advisor and an email to the Service Director - as of today (7days ago) no response from either personnel. This will be the last time I go to Bob Baker Jeep for service or sales. Not a good customer experience what so ever.

Comment: The service managers are wonderful. The guys who replaced (yes, replaced) our engine were a bit sloppy with the cables. The front bumper area of the car had been scraped (had white scrapes). Not sure what happened but not a lot of care beyond the service manager level. They had the car several weeks and did not offer a loaner, when the repair was from a faulty engine (warranty work).Liked the service manager and the person who helped get the replacement engine under warranty but the other guys do not show care in their work.

Comment: I am very disappointed with their service department. I took my car in for a very simple repair when I went to pick it up I noticed my vehicle was damaged from what I can only guess was due to the vehicle lift not being set right. My service advisor Laura denied any responsibility for the damages although was willing to put the plastic back in place. They kept my vehicle for yet another day to inspect the damages. When I contacted my service advisor Laura the following day she still claimed it was not their fault she then continue to give me attitude then hung up on me. Overall I will not be purchasing any dodge vehicles and will never set foot on their lot again I will add pictures of before and after and you can take your own opinion but since I have owned this vehicle they are the only ones that have touched it.

Comment: Wish i could give 0 stars. brought my jeep in for an oil change, recall, and tire rotation. first they forget to give me the paperwork for the recall, then two weeks later my back left tire/wheel flies off my jeep into oncomming traffic and jeep falls on rotor. i get it towed back and they claim no fault and now insurance is covering over $5,000 in damages since this dealership is too incompetent to torque their nuts right or take any responsibility. will definately not ever be coming back and i recommend everyone to find another place for repairs.

My friend purchased his car from Parker and recommended that I go see Parker if I buy my car. He was exceedingly patient and resourceful, very educated on the cars. Was able to answer just about every question of the 100 questions I asked. Nothing is worse than asking a sale guy questions and him not being educated in the product. He assisted me from start to finish and even a few times weeks later when I had a question about my new Durango and some of the settings. Seriously, thanks for all your help Parker!As for Bob Baker and my car. They have a very large selection of cars to choose from, they are not pushy when deciding what you want to do. Their prices seem to be good but with a little help from my sales guy, he was able to knock a few dollars off and That was not something he needed to do.I will definitely be recommending any of my friends to go to Bob Baker and especially go to my sales guy Parker Lanning.Now my new Dodge Durango is resting at home. Loving it.

Comment: I have overlooked a lot since purchasing a vehicle on 11/26/2017 at Bob Baker Chrysler, often giving the benefit of the doubt to the sales and service teams.My buying experience was long and drawn out with many calculated maneuvers on the sales team’s part. As a first time buyer I expected some resistance when it came to financing but did not expect the shady manipulative behavior I experienced. They told me I was declined a loan from every option they had tried including Chrysler, despite my excellent credit. They pushed hard for my mother to cosign my loan so they could shop for a better deal. Upon declining that offer and getting ready to leave, magically the news was past that I indeed did get approved for a loan from Chrysler but my sales associate had “misheard” the manager. I guess they really wanted to finance through an outside venue, I would assume for a kickback from the lender. I also wanted to leave to go to the bank to get a cashier’s check for the down payment. They said they checked what time the bank closed and I had plenty of time to get there after closing the deal. This was obviously a lie because the bank was closed and had I to drive down the following weekend to deliver the check.Upon getting home I noticed that the rear seat was missing an insert for the cup holders in the armrest that left screw holes and unfinished plastic exposed. My sales associate assured me that the part would be mailed to my home address. This did not happen, as I had to go to the parts department and pick it up myself, which honesty didn’t bother me due to the fact I already had to drop off the check. Obviously the part was wrong when I got there because this is Bob Baker we are dealing with. I argued with the parts associate that clearly there is another part to hide the screw holes. In the end he could not help me because the computer did not show an additional part. Well I left and went to another dealership and looked inside their Ram 1500 Rebel and found the missing part myself. I am still waiting to hear back from Bob Baker as to when my part will arrive, with an apology.Overall I am very disappointed with my experience and I clearly took my Chrysler and Bob Baker surveys waaaay to soon. You have lost a customer for life, from all your dealerships and that my not mean anything to you but I hope my experience can benefit other buyers. Thank you for making this experience as long and drawn out as possible.
