All I can say is thank you. This team and especially Ray took time to basically do a full on battery test replace and repair. Ray first helped get us some battery cleaner, then worked the tools so that my son, who we are leaving at college 5 hours from us, had a good battery. I offered to pay him for the help and said “Just doing my job man”. The bolts were rusted and he had to do some extra work so needless to say for this location customer service is a point of emphasis and if I ever need anything in Detroit again I’ll be going back here!
The worst customer service I’ve ever received at an Auto Zone. I went to have a code read & I did call ahead. I spoke with a woman on the phone named Jenny who was very pleasant. When I arrived there was a guy behind the counter. I told him I called about having a code read. He didn’t seem to understand what I was asking at first. He went outside read the code and we walked back in. I asked him if he cleared the code, he said no the machine doesn’t do that and handed me a mechanics card. Okay. This is not the first time I’ve had a code read. I’ve always had the code cleared before I left. This guy just didn’t want to go back outside. He handed me the paper and said there you go. He didn’t even bother to explain the code or offer to sell me the part. It’s like he’d rather me go to the mechanic shop he hands out cards for than actually sell the part. I will never return to this Auto Zone.
Stopped in to grab some screws for my license plate today (03/20) and watched this woman in dress pants who looks to be a manger walk up to me, inches away, with a mask under her chin and not a care in the world. And the guy behind the desk... No mask in sight. No wonder numbers have spiked from a thousand to 3 thousand in the last couple of days. Incredibly disappointing considering I’ve been to this location many times before and employees have always had their masks on and properly at that.
The parts from AutoZone is good. The guys who work at this location is terrible. I recently stopped by at this location to pick up some parts to fix exhaust system, the guys not willing to help at all, chatting behind the counter and just point at a corner, basically saying it’s over there and go figured it out yourself. Even I try to pay for the part the guy is so rude. “I am sorry, I interrupted your “ work related”conversation” . Go across the street to O’Reilly, people over there much more helpful and friendly.
Brian K is the best he went the extra mile to save me $300 from the dealer. Brian K installed my BMW battery in 15 mins. The BMW dealership wanted to keep my car for a hour and half and charge me $300 for a battery installation.Brian K was very nice and polite about everything. Inaddition he would not take a tip!Thanks a lot Brian you saved the day😊
Got my part but didnt have the one the website said they did, but had a different option. We only discovered it after me asking to check for other in stock options. The guy who helped me didnt seem to knowledgeable. Sub par experience I normally dont get when stopping in.
This place disappointed me. Went for a battery replacement, the guy looked reluctant even before he checked my van. Then there was an obvious reason he found that the 2016 Odyssey has an air duct and the professionals are not allowed to touch any parts. I was willing to remove the two small plastic pins myself, they still refused. Free battery installation is false. The overall attitude of the technician was disappointing.
I had my credit card information stolen and seen fraud activity from this store and two other AutoZone locations. I called each store to notify them of the time of purchase and amount, this store not only took my call seriously, they acted on it immediately and were able to locate the order and seen it wasnt picked up yet. When the suspect came to pick up the attempted fraudulent purchase they stalled them for police, the suspect eventually got nervous and fled minutes before the police arrived. The suspect now has a warrant and is under the eye of the Rochester Hills Police Department. This store sent out a warning to other nearby AutoZone locations. Im impressed with this location, as the other two I tried to warn just said thank you - and here the staff cared enough about their customers and their products to act further. A special thank you to Brian and Reiner who were very comforting and on alert during this unsettling incident. The Rochester Hills Police also gave praise to AutoZone for their quick thinking and fast acting tactics.
I was told by a friend that u can get car bomb airfreshner here!!! yes they work fantastic. was greeted at the door shown were product was that I was looking for and then went to check out. boom no cashier in site but I could hear them in the back. love what they have but wasnt impressed with them wasting my time.
Good place for auto parts, but seems as if the assistants and employees are more interested and/or encouraged in pushing their own brand (duralast) rather than genuinely offering unbiased recommendations which include similar products from other brands as well.For the average person who doesnt have preexisting knowledge regarding what they are looking to purchase, it would be easy to get swindled into buying unnecessarily expensive or even an inferior product to other brands.
I came to Autozone on Auburn rd to get an air filter and cabin air filter. Store Manager Tommy was very helpful and provided an excellent customer experience. I will be coming back for my auto needs and recommend this store to anyone needing auto parts and/or service.
The trailer tow hitch lighting was not working in my vehicle properly, I go in and ask for assistance, their response is we cannot help you because of COVID-19. I asked if they can point me in the right direction, and they respond what do you want me to do? I go to aisle 7 to look at the trailer hitch light systems and try to figure it out for myself with no assistance from anyone at AutoZone. I was told by a customer that there is a trailer tow service a mile down the street so I go check it out, they are closed so I try to install it myself and troubleshoot the issue, I recognize I need wire strippers and splice connectors, so I go into the OReilly Auto parts store next door, and they are much more helpful.
Mack replaced the front headlight on the driver side of my Toyota Matrix which was a bit involved. I have balance issues when standing/walking most of the time so I really appreciate that AutoZone will change headlights and wipers...stuff like that at no additional charge. Thank you Mack and thank you AutoZone.
On Tuesday, March 5th, 2019, I came into the Rochester Hills store for a new car battery at approximately 6:10 PM. I was greeted by Emmett, (unsure of name spelling), who was very pleasant and expressed exemplary customer service skills. I left with a new battery that was installed by him and a sense of peace and relief. Emmett is truly an asset to your company. Normally I love AutoZone, but not this one. I got accused by the store manager for trying to swap out rear rotors that did not come from them. I ONLY buy from AutoZone. Even stated that the more expensive rotors dont rust when in fact they do. I have them on the front of my vehicle which he first assumed they were. He talked down to me the whole visit until he realized he was wrong. I will never shop at this store again.
Called auto zone today to get a cam sensor mine has oil leaking out of the connector but the car still ran good. After installing the autozone sensor it would not start I called auto zone and was told that I must have done so thing wrong and that they test all there parts before selling them. I reinstalled the original sensor now the car starts and runs fine. So I called them again and got put on hold for 26 minutes only to have the parts counter person argue with me about it lets see Im a master ASE AUTO AND TRUCK TECH I HAVE BEN IN THE BUSINESS FOR OVER 20 YEARS AND YOU A PARTS SALES PERSON ARE GOING TO TELL ME HOW TO DO MY JOB??? If you were qualified to repair cars than what are you doing selling parts? save your self time and money buy your parts across the street
This is absolutely the worse autozone around! First they are sooo uneducated and lazy workers! Todays manager was rude as hell!!! We come in for whipper blades for them to sit and giggle and say they dont carry it only the Chevy dealer will have them they said. So we went right across the street to OReillys and gave them our business! By the way they had the whipper blades they we could apparently ONLY pick up at a Chevy Dealer!! So dont go here go to OReillys across the street their customer service was way more better!!!! The best part about our service at OReillys is as we sat in line for the blades AutoZone calls asking about the blades we requested. Now that was hilarious!!! Thank you OReillys!!!
Went in to get my battery tested and he tells me he cant, to go to oreillys! I say ok, and have him look up my battery, it was empty in the store, just two associates and me, he shows me the battery, I ask if he can install it, he says they dont have time... They didnt close for another 3 hours... And I was the only customer. So I did what he said, I went to oreillys. They took $20 off the optima red top I bought to price match autozone, installed it for me, and didnt charge me for the anti-corrosion grease for the terminals. I have had a lot of good experiences with the van dyke autozone, however, this store is a joke in terms of customer service

2022-02-15Needed some new wiper blades for my vehicle, the staff member was very helpful and knowledgeable. We had difficulty with finding one blade because this size must be popular, every brand was out of this particular size. The staff member went above and beyond to ensure I was able to get my wipers.

2022-05-15Another perfect service from the guys at AutoZone.They had the battery I needed and helped put it in.(Actually the guy there did most of the work.)Time from me getting there to me driving away with a new battery was 8 minutes, 37 seconds! Not quite a perfect NASCAR pit stop, but world class for an auto parts store.

2022-06-22I am never one to write a review but the store manager at this location was absolutely amazing! Mike went above and beyond the call of duty and exceeded all my expectations. I was on the hunt to purchase my daughter a car for college and I needed the expertise of a professional to provide input. Even though a specific service was no longer offered (diagnostic testing), Mike came through in my time of need (Brandon as well) and looked at the car and provided his recommendations on the condition of car. We spend over 30 minutes in the sweltering heat diagnosing the car. I decided NOT to purchase the car and I am happy with that decision. I offered to buy Mike lunch and he declined. Thank you MIKE!!

2022-05-20Service not so friendly like back in the day. Staff definitely changed and the new folks arent very knowledgeable. The company as a whole I like, but this location could use some help.!!!!!!!!! UPDATED REVIEW HERE!!!!!!!!!Thank you so much John, Ray and Sammy for going above and beyond for me this morning! This crew got me up and running and installed my new battery. And to be clear, this was not the staff that I had an issue with in my original review. This is my go-to location and have always had an enjoyable experience. I dont feel like Im being had because Im a woman! Maybe the othet staffers were having a bad day or whatever, but I definitely could go for John, Sammy and Ray anyday 😃
