They could have taken it back, but maybe because Ive been a consistent customer, they took an extra chance on me.It really meant a lot that my wife didnt miss a day while on probation at a great, new job.

Comment: This place is now budget rentals. We showed up to ask about renting a high ceiling van. We asked if we could take a look at the inside of the van and the employee seemed bothered that we asked. The van was nasty. It smelled like the last load that van was used for was weed. All four tires needed to be replaced and one of the tires even had a flat spot. When we asked if they would detail,service and change out the tires, they seemed offended and asked why we had so many questions. We needed the rental so we can drive to texas so ofcourse we had these type of questions. Both employees that we talked to seemed kinda shady because they didnt want to answer our questions. 90% of the vehicles had a thick layer of dust and mud. The majority of the vehicles had missing panels or seemed like they had been involved in some type of accident. They will not be getting our business. Ask these questions if you plan on renting from them.

Comment: They gave us a smaller car than what we had paid for. We reserved the 4runnner SUV or similar. They gave us a chevy equinox. That is not similar.They arent even in the same class. My wife drove it, and didnt know what I reserved or else we wouldnt have taken it.The Chevy equivalent to the 4runner is the Chevy traverse. These two are both SUVs. The equinox is closer to a Toyota Rav 4 than it is to a 4runner or a Nissan Rouge if you are a Nissan fan.This was a rip-off to pay extra for an SUV only to get a sub-suv.

Comment: I got great service overall. Making the reservation was really easy. I did have an issue with the window wipers while i was out of town. I tried calling the office in Visalia but it kept getting transferred to the customer service line. Which was a really big inconvenience because they kept telling me they couldnt help me that only the actual office where I got my rental from could. It was very easy returning the car as well.

Comment: I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone!!! I returned my car, I went back about an hour and a half later because I realized I left my glasses in the car. It was already cleaned out. I let the people in the front know I forgot some thing she let me go in my car after knowing that it was cleaned out. the lady that cleaned the car was out there since I had check the car and my glasses weren’t there I asked her and said there was nothing in there. I let her know I was not going to drop off my car but since it needed in oil change, they exchange the car for me so I forgot to grab all of my stuff out of the car and that day I was wearing my sunglasses so I know they were in there. She said there was nothing in there kinda of laughing and said I had to check my stuff again, I let her know the reason I went back is because I realized I had left them there. I asked to speak to the manager I went to the front of the office person in the front, was ignoring what I was talking about and said if there’s something left, they would bring it to the front and there was nothing here. She did not bother to ask the person that clean the car. They were really rude about it and didn’t even care to ask the lady that clean the car if she had found anything they were already closing and the person that cleaned my car left right away the manager or owner didn’t even care to ask her and just let her go and they just dismissed me without even saying that they will check or look around and see if they come up. I let them know it was a very expensive pair of glasses that couldn’t of just gone missing within that hour and a half that I was gone, but they didn’t care to even look or check here they didn’t file a complaint like I asked her too. This is a business account they are dealing with and they way they treated me and stole my glasses is not the way to treat your customers specially for such large accounts like the one company is giving Avis. I’m very disappointed and could not trust this place know that they will steal from you!!!

Comment: I was charged $250 for smoking fee without proper cause. The clerk said there was a smoking smell, which was the same smell when I picked up the car. So then he said there were ashes which is not true either. Though, I do admited the car was used and parked in a dusty environment (country). Ive been renting through Hertz in the past six months and never had to deal with this problem.

I had to exchange the car in another city because of the defective brakes. When I went and returned the car and told the owners about the issue they were nonchalant. No compensation of any kind. I have sent an email to the corporate office because this is unacceptable. My children and I could have lost our lives 😢 thank God he had mercy on us and were still here. 🙏🏾

Comment: Update: I was refunded after contacting them. Because I wasnt give 8 seats as promised.I reserved & paid for a rental online and there were No vehicles over 7 seats available so I settled for a 7 passenger rental. Once I went into the office to pick up my rental I mentioned to the clerk that I really wanted an 8 passenger but there were none available to which she replied, We have that Suburban outside available and pointed to a Silver Suburban. Without hesitation I asked to upgrade which would cost me $131 additional on top of my already paid reservation. We signed away, did the walk around && I got in without looking to the back seats. Once I got home and park I turned back and to my surprise there was 2 seats behind me leaving me with a bigger and more expensive 7 passenger car but because it was Saturday they were already closed at 1pm. My pickup time was at Noon and it was busy so I checked out close to 1pm. I cant believe I was screwed over $131 for the same amount of seats from my original reservation

Comment: I had never heard of them before but they came through when I was desperate for a rental. The car was great! Very clean and amazing on gas. The front desk was helpful and nice. I took a star off because they raised their deposit rate 150 more than what it was originally. Overall, if you dont mind that or if thats not a problem for you, I recommend them!

Comment: Although I had a bit of trouble picking up the vehicle due to the not accepting of my debt card (upsetting that you accept initial payment from the same debt card dut denied me Jason Lucero when it came to deposit payment) so I was able to have a friend (Elia) make it possible for me to receive the vehicle (Toyota Rav4) such a beautiful SUV, I was very satisfied with both the vehicle and customer service he was very professional, while I was upset I understood it was policy and not his fault. Im still giving my rating a 10. Thank you and I will return in the future with proper payment card.

I tried having someone over 21 rent one for me and I was still told no. I will never ever try to use this car rental service again. Comment: Never use them esp at this location. Front counter staff Caleb was rude and after making 18 calls to national Avis office they had to make him exchange the car after a service light came on during our travels. The worst customer service I have ever had.

Comment: Not sure what is up with these Avis rentals this year. They are full of disgruntled employees.Im a 63 man who travels for a living. My company only rents through Avis. I can only ride comfortably certain name brand cars. For some reason Avis employees (especially the ones at Fresno airport) act as if giving out a specific brand car that is within my companys contract is a mortal sin. The worst offenders are the mom and pap franchised Avis.I started in Vallejo CA Avis. The guy is nice, his stock of vehicles alaays sucks. He only had a Chevy Cruz. I cant do that. So he has a Nissan Sentra that isnt cleaned yet. The car stinks. I agree to take it temporary. (Avis always boast about exchanges for any reason.)I go to Fairfield CA Avis to exchange it. The woman tells me So now youre going to leave us with a stinky car! Yes… .yes I am. Sorry get better stock I guess? I ask for a Toyota (the only car I can fit in). She says no. Thats it. No explination. Just no fool. Gives me another Nissan Sentra. Mind you she had like 3 Toyota Corollas chillin in her FULL lot of same price as the Sentra.I uncomfortably drive to Fresno CA 4 hours away. The people at this Avis act as if they will be beheaded if they exchange the car. The woman acted upset by my request and refused to exchange the car for a Toyota. At keast her excuse was that they were booked up on reservations. Mind you this is an airport site with a lot filled with 50 or more cars. They woukdnt exchange my car for any of them. Even though my coworkers are showing up in Tacomas and Mustanges. I just want a simple Corolla, Prius, Ford, Honda Flex focus. Something that is not Chevy or Nissan.So now im stuck in this Nissan Sentra for 2 weeks and my knees hurt if im in it for more than 10 minutes because Avis staff cant spend some time just giving me a car exchange within the same price range my company agreed on.Mind you Sandiego is AMAZING. Hawaii Avis is AMAZING. Fresno, not so much. This is my second time dealing with Fresno and being unhappy.

Comment: There were only two cons I had:- Calls forwarding to national call center- No pick-ups offered at this locationAll in all, the whole thing took around 30 minutes, which was most of the wait for the car to be cleaned. Staff was nice and personable.

Comment: Figured Id take advantage of the ridiculous wait they are putting me through and leave a review. Im currently sitting in the office with all my paperwork signed waiting for a car. Ive been here for nearly an hour {UPDATE: I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR AN HOUR AND A HALF AND SHE SAID MY CAR IS STILL NOT NEXT} (with a reservation) and only three people have made it out of here with cars. It seems like there are only two people working for a long list of reservations. It is mistake after mistake at the counter, and they dont clean the cars until theyre been rented, which makes for long waits.If you are traveling, are pressed for time, or just dont have the patience, please go down the street with Hertz. The lower prices here will cost you in the form of time.

Comment: Understaffed: 45min line every time, wont answer phone.I returned a car here three times at different times of day, every time was over a half hour wait. Their website says this is a Preferred location, I am Avis Preferred but still have to stand in a long line. Ive seen no more than two people working the entire office: prepping cars, showing people their cars, checking cars in and out. This includes behind the counter. Terribly understaffed. Whats worse, if you leave something in your car, this location does not participate in Lost and Found. You have to call the office directly to get your stuff back, and they never answer their phone. Ive called 20 times and each time you get forwarded on to corporate.

Comment: Bad service, I was made to wait 45 minutes before I was informed that my car had been double booked. They then told me if I wanted a vehicle Id have to go to tulare...well how am I supposed to get to tulare with out a vehicle, then they rudely asked whats wrong with your car. Over all it cost me 2 hours of my time and a missed flight. I wouldnt recommend this company if you need reliable service.
