And we never ended up getting the car. My husband got so mad that he walked out of the door and I told Dailene that she gives bad customer service and she just said oh ok like she didnt care.

Comment: Wonderful and easy, got a AAA Discount and the process was simple. Employees were helpful and have a good sense of Charisma. Watch out though, our car was freshly cleaned and doused with perfume, had it for a day, perfume wore off, reeked of tobacco smoke. Doubt that was their fault, but would make sure to mention any smell before accepting it, especially since smoking fees are very high, wouldnt want to get charged for that.

Vehicle was clean & perfect for trip.However, below is an updated review.************This is an updated review that has been added to reflect the very poor reservation component (reservation customer service) & lack of disclosure, incompetence, and/orintentional omission by the Avis Reservation Agent as it relates to car rental reward miles for my airline loyalty program rewards. At the initial reservation period in March 2023, the Reservation Agent failed to disclose that my pick up location was not a participating location for airline reward miles eventhough I provided my airline loyalty number. It was not until I called 32 days after rental, (April 8, 2023), when rewards had not posted only to be placed on hold for nearly 20 mins, in addition to being hung up on by Agent, name Danny, and being told by a second agent after having to call back and told about Dannys notes and finding out that rewards miles for car rental would not be honored due to car pick up location not being a participating location for loyalty reward miles. Also, there was no information in my reservation info or on Avis website about non-participating Avis locations regarding loyalty reward miles. After all this, Avis still did not make or even attempt to try to accommodate this situation on my behalf as a customer. Overall and as a whole, as a car rental agency, this subpar agency has left a very long-lasting bad taste & forevermore untrusting car rental experience for me with them....

Based on her needs, they offered two possible alternatives to road test, and the Kona was the one we all fell in love with. The miles were extremely low, the car was in mint state, and the price was quite reasonable. When it came to finance options, they did not overwhelm us with dozens of confusing possible alternatives. Instead, they went for the kill and got us a really workable one in record time. In a nutshell, we got a superb car and the whole service experience was a no nonsense, no hassle, simple, straightforward, knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly one. Were definitely going back for a second car, this time for my wife and us.

This last time they wanted to charge me an extra $90 to upgrade to a car that is listed as a economy car even though thats what I reserved online. To top it off the return date was wrong and I was charged an extra day. I should have looked closer at everything to make sure they did their job correctly there are a bunch of crooks and try to scam you anyway they can. I will be calling Avis corporate and never coming back hereUpdate when I called last week I was supposed to get a refund of $200 because of the fact that they have never given me the car I requested and the inconvenience of trying to get charged extra for a car that I reserved. They have rejected that refund definitely will never rent from Avis ever again definitely not renting from anywhere in Victorville ever again save yourself the money and the trouble. They do not care about their customers they will not hold to anything they say.

Comment: I had rented a car through Avis on 5-19-22 for 1 day in Victorville, CA and had no issues, as such I made a reservation for another rental on 5-22-22 at the Avis Ontario, CA airport location & arrived at Avis counter & was almost through the paperwork when the Avis rep said I had been randomly chosen to provide a 2nd photo identification, something other than my state issued drivers license. Being I was NOT traveling internationally, I did not have my Passport or any other form of ID with a photo, as such the Avis rep told me she could not complete my reservation for the rental & since I had already paid for the rental, I would need to contact their customer service department in order to get a refund on my credit card. I left the Avis counter, walked down to Enterprise and within 15 minutes I was driving away in an Enterprise rental. I had always been an Enterprise customer, however when using my AAA travel app it listed Avis and I thought Id try Avis. The 1st rental in Victorville, CA went fine, but their random request for a 2nd photo ID left me high & dry without a rental car at their Ontario, CA rental counter. Thankfully Enterprise gave me no problems and processed the rental in under 15 minutes. I learned my lesson, I will stay with Enterprise Rental. Avis has lost my business & I will not recommend Avis to anyone. Do yourself a favor and use Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Comment: We are often renting cars lately because our car had broken down. They do require a $250-$350 deposit for every rental. I dont rent it directly through their site but through a third party site call staysavervactions.com which is a private owned online site for a vacation membership for international and local traveling with hotels, cars, cruises, air b&b, private homes and u can auction off your own unused timeshare weeks and u save tons on taxes and fees. if you need a car and want to save money I can send you the link. But I did like car but unfortunately the check engine light came up on us in middle of the desert on a road trip and because I prepaid they werent willing to offer any compensation for the trouble of having to trade the car in with a full tank to get another car. I will rent there again but Ill be sure to check the car is in good shape prior to leaving.

I was told when I had to extend my rental, because of circumstances beyond my control i had to extend the car rental.. I lost my purse I had no ID No cc no debit card couldnt access any of my money fromy bank without an ID. Anyways I was told that I would be charged an additional $500 Somthing, but I was charged an additional $1180.80. So I was not happy and am still not happy about it. Comment: Barstow location claimed they had no one-way rentals and cancelled my reservation i had booked online causing me to spend extra money for hotel. Refund takes 3-5 business days so my money was all tied up and could not go to other rental agency until that money was returned. This forced me to pay hotel for the weekend and caused me to miss job orientation at destination. Had to go to victorville location to finally get a car. By the time i got to oregon the job got taken so i had to take the car cross country to get home. Due to inclimate weather and interstate closure i was delayed in returning the car at the new destination in louisville and was charged for a whole extra day upon arrival. I tried to call the avis but nobody ever answers phones at the locations to recieve that info. All in all avis was a trashy and expensive experience and i will spread the word as far as i can to keep people away from there. Customer service? Only two of about 12 different people were polite.

I replied, that we were here to purchase a vehicle. She pointed to an area to the right of some chairs, and told us to go that way, so we did. We saw two men talking, and they saw us but they did not approach us. So we sat in a waiting area there and waited for 30 minutes. People walked by us but never helped us. So we finally left. I decided to call the manager and he told me that I sat in the rental customer area, and that we look like rental customers, and thats why they didnt approach us. I asked him, what does rental customers look like? To which he replied with a raised voice, Hey look, its early Monday morning, and everyone is a little slow today, ok! He kept talking over me, and interrupting.Me and my wife were willing to spend alot of money in purchasing a vehicle from Avis, but its not worth the agrivation.

The man said when he called their company he was told to put the key in the box. When I bought it manager told me to take it back, because at the time they couldn’t look at it. I took it back but they didn’t look at it. I bought it in January 2020, and I’m still waiting for license plate. Also the car doesn’t start at times. As I text the car is in garage not starting. It’s not the battery. But of course after you buy cars, dealership don’t care. They just take care of the simple things. I feel as though they wanted to get rid of this car because of the problems it has. Things happen after the customer leaves the lot, but when you take cars back with the problem it’s always the buyers fault. So be careful what you buy.

Comment: My visit was more than pleasant and by the end I felt like everyone knew me. I didnt feel pressured to get a more expensive vehicle or to add on features I didnt need. I left in the car I was checking out online. Tonya, Betty, Frank, Josh and the rest of the team are amazing. I felt like I was dealing with real people not a corporation. I love my car. Comment: I got a rental car which had no gas cap on it. I did drive it one way but was going to return it the next day to the different location. Yes I understand there is a fee for a different drop off of rental car than pickup but when I ended up having to keep it an additional day I ask how much per day? They were charging me $100.00 any additional day kept. I would say thats a bit ridiculous!!! The clerks were polite though.

Comment: The lady that owns the rental car place is very sweet and nice I usually go there on a regular basis. But unfortunately on one Sunday morning I went there and her husband was working and he hired a new young lady, that would not take my reservation. The young lady did not know that I was a usual customer...so l asked to speak to the owner she told me the owner was not there. Since I always go to this rental car place I knew the owners husband and assumed that he would help me out with my rental car but instead he sided with the young lady and said that she did not lie to me. The customer service at this establishment is unacceptable what happened to the customer is always right and good customer service...and that young lady should no longer work there.

Comment: The cars are NOT well maintained ( lots of rock pits on the front of the car; they dont clean or detail their cars) the owner is a jerk; they have alot of hidden charges. They DONT ACCEPT CASH WHEN PAYING FOR THE RENTAL!!!! The only good aspect of this transaction was the lady who processed the transaction. I will use another location.

Comment: Rented car from Avis at Boise ID airport. Kyle at rental desk was very friendly and helpful. Reserved car month before needed. Requested vehicle that seated 8 passengers. Was asked again at counter how many passengers. Since we were picking up some of group in different city, we did not become aware of lack of seating until later. One passenger had to sit on floor entire 950 mile trip. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND UNSAFE.

It took us 5 mintues to clean it out however her claim that it would take hours and when I got mad she started yelling at me in a different language. Comment: Gave me a car with a lot of physical damage because thats the only one they had available even though reservations were set well in advance, and to top it off, their phones are always off. I need a basic receipt from them but because avis and their infinite wisdom cant handle keeping receipt records as well, I have to call the physical location but since they have there phone always off forget about it. Worst location period.

Comment: Been renting a vehicle for the last couple of weeks while my own vehicle is down and have had a excellent experience with this location. Was able to easily switch vehicles after a day due to just not being comfortable with the original vehicle I rented and the employees were very helpful and accommodating when I called and asked about doing so. Both vehicles, even the one I changed for another, were very clean when picked up and in excellent condition. Again, excellent experience. Would definitely recommend.
