Comment: Ive rented from here several times in the past and they never seem to give me the vehicle type that I selected in my reservation. Ive selected full size SUVs but they would provide me with smaller crossovers at the same higher price of the SUV. For this reason I recently selected the smaller mid size sedan only to find out they upgraded me to a bigger crossover, no big deal right? Wrong, they ended up charging me the difference for the bigger vehicle in the end without letting me know! Dont rent here.

Comment: I rented a one-way from Oxnard to LAX. The service representative was extremely Positive, asked me how my day was, you could tell she loved her job. I requested a car type an she made it happen. I commend her and she was the best part of my rental. I regret that I forgot her name but hope she is recognized by her supervisor. The Camry was clean, ran well and everything went well. Thank-you Avis.

Comment: Never coming here to rent a vehicle. Vehicle was filthy, not sanitized and smelled disgusting. The representative didn’t bother coming out to inspect vehicle with us when picking up, guess he knew what he was giving us and didn’t want to hear it. Unfortunately we were running late to our trip so we didn’t go back in to express our concern. When we dropped off we did bring it to his attention, no comment or apology out of him. Will never rent a vehicle from Avis, first time and my last. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Comment: My husband and I were desperately looking for a car rental after the Hertz location on Auto Center Drive (now closed, I guess?) called us close to 6pm on the evening before the morning we were supposed to pick up our rental car - which wed already reserved and paid for - to tell us they didnt have any cars! Lucky for us, this Avis location was open the next day (other rental car locations around us werent) and we reserved a car with them. Every aspect of the transaction was smooth, easy and professional, and the customer service was excellent and friendly! Yes, their office is just a trailer in the parking lot (not the best ambience or presence) but I think efficiency and effectiveness are much more important considerations. Highly recommended!

Comment: I have a corporate account with Avis, preferred status. I tried to rent from LAX and they didnt have any cars. Then I went to their sister company Budget and got a car, one day rental from LAX to OXN and they charged my corporate account $101.00, which included a $50 dollar one way fee. No need to gouge your corporate clients Avis. May never rent from Avis again if they are going to treat their corporate, preferred clients like this.

Comment: Horrible customer service! We had the worst customer service with John, we had to have road side assistance because the car they rented us had holes in the tires and bald. ( make sure you check the tires when you rent from Avis) so on our vacation we wasted they whole day waiting for them to get us a different car, long story short, we had to wait tell the next day. We showed up at the Oxnard rental to pick up our replacement car and John told us he had no cars for us, and he wasn’t planning on getting one! He was the meanest man I ever in-counter with a business I’ve ever had! We had prepaid for our rental and I had set it up with roadside assistance to get a car from that location!I will never use Avis again and I’m going to tell everyone that will listen to not rent cars from them! The picture attached is the tires that was okay with them to rent to me!

Comment: Terrible customer service, insolent and discriminatory, the car was dirty, gas was low, no proper checkin and check out, no receipt I was charged a $30 fee without my knowledge. The Oxnard Avis/budget location went downhill since the pandemic and since Hertz the competition left. A serious training or layoff is needed at this location. What a shame!

Comment: Do NOT rent a car here. They did not honor my reservation car type, waited in line for 40 minutes because only one person at the desk, and the customer service rep was completely uncaring. The customer service rep literally would only recite the script answers Avis laid out for him. When returning the car, he even forced me to fill it with more gas even though I had just filled it to the max 3 miles away.I usually give customer service reps a lot of patience, kindness, and the benefit of the doubt because I know how hard the job is, but by the end of this experience it felt to me that he intentionally wanted find ways to give me a bad experience. I have warned my friends and family to not use Avis and especially this location.

Comment: The car was in good condition with all the necessary facilities and, with the exception of the malfunctioning USB port, we had no problems at all.As a European in America you need navigation and we were able to connect our mobile phone to the radio for navigation via the USB port of the radio.The first 10 days everything went perfectly. After that, there was regular interruption between the USB port and the radio, so we could not charge our mobile phone and we had no navigation on the radio. (sometimes up to 5 hours a day)Avis Oxnard understood us but did not have a replacement car. Avis Ventura (a lady) ignored our comment and claimed that there were no cars with such a USB connection.Too bad and extremely annoying the last 10 days.In all other respects the car was excellent.

Comment: I received my loaner a hour and a half late even though I had a prepaid reservation two months in advance. I brought the the car back a day early and showed him how a car should be delivered. Clean and with a full tank of gas.

Comment: I was very unhappy with my rental experience. I rented a car online and then was notified it was unavailable. I specifically chose AVIS because this car was available (convertible Mustang). A few hours before I was going to pick up the car I was notified it was unavailable. I dont understand how you have such poor knowledge of your inventory that this would happen. Then, the car I chose was dirty--windows were dirty, the car inside was dirty. In the time of Covid I was appalled to find the car was in such poor condition. It looked as if the inside had been hastily cleaned awhile ago (poorly done with garbage in the cup holder, etc.) and the outside had been washed and then the car had sat idle for awhile. It was dusty and dirty. I had to wash the inside completely when I got the car home before I could let me family in the car. You need to get your act together at the AVIS rental office at the airport.

Comment: Never rent avis. Rental car was given with trash inside Center console in this COVID-19 situation. I have pictures I can provide to Avis. Obviously car was not cleaned from previous renter, and it’s even horrifying in COVID-19 situation that car are given to next rental without cleaned. This is violating federal, state, and avis car rental laws and policy to disinfectant car before renting to next rental.

Comment: I got to the Avis location at the airport. The desk was empty. Waited for 30 minutes until I went to the lot to look for someone. 15 mins later I found him. A 15 min visit took over an hour.🤬

Comment: Showed up after making a reservation online. Car in the category I selected was not available, so I had to pay extra for another vehicle and also found out that I would have to pay for an additional driving day because of the drop off time that supposedly could not be changed. Was initially going to cancel the whole thing but was informed I would be charge $50 for cancelling. Guy working the counter was also rude and obviously did not want to be there.

Comment: I had reservations for a car. My husband came to pick it up because I was unable to pick up at the time. I spoke to the clerk and told him I was coming to not cancel my reservation. He said he would be there till 6pm. When I got there he said he had no vehicle for me that it had been rented. I asked how do you rent it if you knew I was coming and its paid for. I asked him if he could cancel my reservation and he said no, I would have to cancel online and I would be charged the cancellation fee. No car, no courtesy cancellation, no customer service. No returned customer!
