Comment: This one particular worker almost refused to rent me a car that I reserved insisting he didn’t have any cars. I’m insisting he look at my reservation number but no he continues to say I don’t have any cars. After five minutes or so he looks up my name and say “Oh I have your car” I said you should never argue with a customer and check the system for reservations. He acted as if he did nothing wrong printed out my information said sign here and handed the keys to the other worker to show me to my rinsed off dirty, dented up car. I will never rent from this location off 15th street and Palmdale Blvd. And they should wear name badges

Comment: The rating was mainly due to them being open on Sunday which is super convenient! Service was good Straight forward and the precheckMade everything easy. Only complain would be that the car wasn’t clean interior or out, but nothing that couldn’t be over looked. From the convince of being able to return it on Sunday ( they’re the only ones open that day) to filling out info online before coming in and the ease of the returning. I’d recommend this place and the prices were great.

Then they rented the car out to someone else within a couple of hours and still did not check the trunk. So I have to spend a lot of time checking their lost and found and probably have to file a claim.

The waiting area was filthy and not to the standards of Avis or Budget.When we were returning the car at 2:30 PM on Thursday the place was literally closed!! They came to open the door saying that they were eating lunch while 10+ people were waiting outside in the heat for over an hour!

Comment: This last experience was my very last time renting a vehicle with Avis. I booked my rental from Friday, July 14, 2023 until Monday, July 17, 2023 the rental car broke down and left me and my three daughters on the side of the highway for 2 hours until a tow truck arrived. After the first tow arrived he wasnt able to help because his company was contracted with Avis to move the car to a mechanic shop. So I had to wait an additional 45 minutes until the second tow truck arrived to tow truck truck to an assigned mechanic shop in Ontario, CA. I went to the Avis branch where I rented the car from to explain the situation that transpired and was told that I couldnt get a refund because the car broke down on Sunday and it was due on Monday at 8am anyway (how professional). I called the customer service number over five times only to get the run around while trying to get a refund due to the car breaking down on me. This wasnt my first bad experience with this company, but will be my last bad experience because Im taking my business elsewhere because the customer service is terrible.

Unfortunately, the 3rd party financial people Avis uses, Treslr is the name, are crooks. The car was advertised at 25k, but they tried charging me 37 with fees because my credit union could beat their offers. Will not be buying from anyone who uses Treslr, but will rent from Avis if needed.

Comment: The staff was very helpful. I needed to change the size of my vehicle. They were able to accommodate and did so very professionally and willing too help. Thanks! My trip went perfe tly, small detail, the change oil light was on . I had to call to make sure all was good they assured me oil had been changed, the light was not reset. Car wasnt as clean as I expect like drink cup holder in the front and back were yucky and couple chips on floor. Could of been cleaned better.

I had to take left going and back home for no reason. Waste of money and time. Forgot my sunshades in a vehicle I rented on my first time and they did not call me to tell me they found it. I guess thats how the operate or that was just my luck. I would still rent if I necessarily have to. Called the customer service to ask y and they couldnt get them either. Some people just dont care anymore 😴. Thats a shame 😕.

I was told that I could bring the car back at a time that the car rental office was not going to be open. So now I am forced to keep the car Saturday, Sunday they are not open, now return on Monday. $84 turned into $240

When I got the car the car it was dirty on the outside and no spare or the fix a flat was given and the person that gave me the car could give less than a #### about it. Would not recommend.

Comment: I took the vehicle to pick up my passengers for our trip and the tire sensors started failing. When I picked up my passengers, they went to use the cup holders in the back seat and there was a covid-19 face mask in it after we lowered it to be used. There was another covid 19 mask in the center console with a empty USB charger case. I had to stop the trip ride to properly disinfect the vehicle since it obviously was not. Very appalling esp since we are going through a pandemic. There was also no washer fluid for me to clean my window during the trip. This could have been proven to be dangerous if my view was obstructed. I was not offered a discount, only an upgrade for a vehicle which I will not be using. Im very upset with the lack of cleanliness, appreciation, and concern.

Comment: I agree with others about less than 1 star. I had a reservation to pick up at 4:30pm. I got there at 4:28pm and was told they were closed, the computers were shutting down, and I could not get a vehicle. I was able to get a refund for this reservation, but I had made another reservation for a return trip which I will now not need, since I couldnt get a vehicle to begin with. Avis charged me a $60 cancellation fee, in spite of the fact that it was their fault I needed to cancel. I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding renting from this location!

Comment: My experience at this location was lacking at best. Upon arrival, my wait time was 45mins which is to be expected considering the high demand of renting. I had an intermediate SUV booked which they assigned me a RAV and stated they could not wash the car but would clean the windows. That was completely unacceptable to me to take a car that had just been returned, with cloth interior, and drive if without sanitization especially given the current Covid19 predicament. As a result I asked for something with Leather Interior which I rebooked a luxury car and paid the difference. Dispite the Lincoln I rented smelling of cigarette at rental, I took the car as it was the best option, had it detailed before leaving for my trip, and washed it again before returning. The Lancaster location is phenomenal however I will certainly not be returning nor recommending this Palmdale location ever again, dispute its convenient location.

Comment: I would give less than a star if I could I tremendously regret renting a car thru them, the tire pressure was over by 25 lbs if your not familiar with tire pressure that is extremely dangerous especially during the summer months when the tires will expand even more due to the heat on the roads which can cause a major blow out and if on the highways with all the truckers and other traffic me and my family couldve have been seriously injured or killed when I expressed my concerns to the agent when I returned they didnt even have any concern nor did the customer servicewhen I called them. I feel when youre in this kind of business checking tire pressure should be a standard safety check, i will never use this company again and I will tell everyone I know over and over again

Comment: The car was just turned in by the guy next to me. It wasnt clean, the oil change light was on, there looked to be a public hair on the dashboard. I normally would not have taken this vehicle but it looked like the only one there and I had to go. It seemed like they had no idea I was getting a car, not sure what would have happened if the guy didnt show up. The staff was nice though, but probably not the most professional. Lastly the car itself was a piece of junk. Please do not rent out hybrids to people that do not request one, the Ford Fusion I got was the worst driving experience in my 35 years of driving.

Comment: Reserved a car months in advance. Arrived day of our trip to find out they have no car for is at all. I reserved a smaller car to save gas money. I was told that I either had to take an SUV, the only vehicle available, or wait for potentially hours until someone brings a car back. Waiting would make us late for an event so we had no choice. We ended up spending near double on gas on an SUV for transporting two people. They acted like it was our problem and not theirs. I will never rent from here again, which is too bad from them since we travel yearly. When I dropped off the SUV there was a woman at the front desk who was upset because they raised the price on her, so I guess bad service is par for the course.

Comment: The renting experience was terrible we were made to feel like we might steal the car or we wear not good enough to rent the car. No chairs to sit down handwritten signs on the wall threatening a $250 charge if we left sand or sunflower seeds in the car. Hello, we are in the desert here. No sand in the car, really? They were washing the cars right in front with tools and buckets right on the sidewalk that you had the Dodge in order to walk into the establishment. Not a very pleasant experience. Returning the car was different. Different people were there that smiled and talked to us like they were thankful for the rental. I will not go back. I will go back to the Lancaster store where I have rented frequently and where they are very nice and professional!

Comment: My wife just got back from this place with our rental and it REAKS of cigarettes....it’s 2017, how is it possible that we have this problem in this day in age... and the guy kept answering calls and calls without just putting them on hold while my wife was standing right in front of him... this is why we will be going with ENTERPRISE from now on.

Comment: I reserved a car, on Saturday, for 8 a.m. Monday. At that stage you would think they would know they needed to have a car available. To the contrary, I was left standing outside the store for 15 minutes while they scrambled around trying to find cars. As they are open Sundays, you would think that by Sunday afternoon, with no cars, they would know they needed to get one then so as to not leave a customer standing around outside the door. Then the clerk completely failed to manage to print a proper receipt. At 8:30, when I saw him start HAND-COPYING the information onto a blank printed receipt, I gave up and went to Hertz. Why are car rental companies staffed with incompetents?

Comment: I rented a car from Florida and this was my drop off location, when I tried calling any of the Palmdale CA locations I was unable to reach a person at the locations and was transferred to the 1-800 Number. I was over charged and then told the only way to resolve it was to speak with my drop of location.Was unable to reach them and also THEY DO NOT HAVE A AFTER HOURS DROP BOX

Comment: Rented the Malibu, great car, lots of nice features and excellent gas mileage. Car had just over 500 miles on it so it was in cherry shape. comfortable drive to and from Vegas.Loved the sat radio.I have been using that Avis location for 3-4 years now. Never a problem, wait times are not more than 10 minutes for me to get on the road. I always do online rental then call the store to confirm and let them know its me. Upgrades are easy and pricing is good.It isnt a fancy store, but the staff there prove that you dont need that to provide excellent service.

Comment: Rented the car and paid online. Very easy pickup serviced by a helpful and happy employee. Needed to extend my rental 2 extra days and done it over the phone very easy and for a reasonable price. The car worked perfectly and got great gas milage. Overall and had an excellent experience.

Comment: The employee who helped me in the Avis was wearing a Dodgers shirt and while helping me get my car a young lady with a Dodgers shirt also walked in and he got all excited and was saying Go Dodgers. Very unprofessional and no I am not a Dodgers hater I am actually a fan also. The issue is I am at Avis Rental trying to rent a car, not at a Dodger game. Then he tries saying you want a Avenger, Jetta or Focus. Hey buddy I booked online and I had a free upgrade coupon code. He would have known that if he took the time to look at my printed out online reservation confirmation. Then he cons me into basic insurance saying its only $15, Come to find out it is $15 a DAY! Thank you Avis for the additional $60 charge when I got back from vacation. I book online so I can get a good discount, usually a free upgrade and with the thought that I can walk in and walk out in 5 minutes and have my rental car. Not at this location.
