Had a reservation for september 4th which was a saturday, that was set for Noon and i showed up 1:10pm which is not too long after and it was all because my uber ride arrived late which i am not to be held acountable, but still its okay no big deal on the browser i used to reserve this rental it said the bussiness hours on saturdays are from 8am until 4pm which was also what was sticked to the bussiness door there, ok cool than i can still make it, but i arrived to the place being closed and i had to get another uber ride back home which i live far and it costs as much as renting a car ,before i did that i decided to make a couple of phone calls to avis to see what is going on and in hopes they recognise my faced trouble in wasting soo much time , and i swear to you wothout exaggeration i stayed talking to reservation representatives after being put on soo many holds for over 2hours OVER atleast 3 diffrent representatives, just to get me connected to costumer service which was 3hours later and than the communication was better and the recognised my case but i had to address the troubles i faced that day. All that was 2 days ago before i posted this reviewed experience and here i am going there again, i hope they compensate me for all the wasted time.
Rented a car, called day after due date to extend, Jason said he could not help me w/o the reservation number, yet I called back when on my way to return the car and the Mgr Rick was able to pull up the reservation with only my name. Was charged late fees and loss prevention fee. If Jason had provided simple customer service and extended my rental, I would not have been charged in the first place and spent an hour of my time making calls to corporate to get my money back. Honesty, transparency and good old customer service go a long way. I’ll never rent from Avis again. This was their 2nd chance as I rented from them once before, never again. Look at the reviews, the response is the same apology asking for us, the consumer to called them yet again to get the help we should have received in the first place. Why not raise your standards and expect/train your employees to give the service and get it right the first time. Poor management and leadership. It starts at the top.
DO NOT RENT FROM HERE! Reserved ahead of time they denied me and now taking up to 10 business days to get refund. Then gavee customer service number to call to get my refund waited 30 minutes for that! Both guy on phone and In person were rude and very short? Do not recommend!
The worst experience of my life with a car rental service!!!! I will NEVER use them again and I will tell EVERYONE I KNOW not to use them either!! We used them for a insurance claim and it has been a total nightmare!!!! Nobody knows whats going on and they dont communicate with each other at all!!!! We used enterprise the first time we had an insurance claim with no problems at all!!! Customer service sucks!!!! The people working there have no clue what their doing!!! THIS COMPANY SUCKS DO NOT USE THEM!!!
When you go to book a car it says they have inventory. Cancelled a leg of my flight because of them saying they had inventory. Take a lyft to get there, the guy runs outside and says they have no cars. WHAT?! I was furious. Ended up having my travel agent call Avis corporate and they had to call the location because even corporate was showing they had inventory. I ended up taking a car that had damage (cracked windshield), which I was more than fine with. As I sat there and had to wait for an hour. I then witnessed someone else come in, with a confirmation number (just like i had) and be told there were no cars. Guy was just as furious as I was. Of course the guy at the location and the guy this other customer spoke with on the phone are both so literal that any time one of us would say that “you” or “they” let us book a car online they all said, “well I didn’t let you book it.” We get it. You personally didn’t, but your (the company you work for...Avis) website says you have a FULL inventory. This was such a nightmare for myself and my travel agent. I truly wish that our company didn’t have to use Avis anymore.
Worse experience ever! My sister went in to pick up her rental truck and their system was down. My brother-in-law offered the guy multiple scenarios in order to get the truck and the guy wouldnt budge, mind you the reservation papers are in front of him. My sister then calls the 1 800 number and tells them everything only to get a call back from someone else, who didnt even get the whole story reported back to them correctly, that solved nothing at all. The man on the phone said that they could run it through the corporate system but unfortunately the managers at the locations dont like to do that because, Its too hard. Never again! Went to Uhaul and got a better rental.
Made reservation for a car at Avis/Budget in Westland. Was quoted one price via phone call, upon arrival given another price with a tone in mgrs voice. Requested # for headquarters, quoted price given. Should have been even lower for misquote & unpleasantness. No other options due to other car rental places were fully booked.
Terrible experience! The so called manager was very rude, screaming at the top of his lungs! And refused me a vehicle I already prepaid on because my fiancé put his mask on while walking in the door!! He wanted him to leave altogether! I never seen anything like this!! (Westland) ! Disgusting!
Reserved a car and scheduled pickup for Sunday and nobody told me it was after they closed. The pickup was for 2pm. They close at 12pm. Not even when I called to ask a question did they feel it necessary to let me know they wouldnt be there when I went to pick it up. I almost got screwed had I not looked at their hours the night before. I went with a different company. AVIS is fine, its just this location
When i picked up the guy was not knowledgeable didnt know anything and I asked what if I need another day he said just keep it and they will charge you for one more day then when i did and turned it in i was charged late fees and nobody could do Anything or seemed like they cared the guy I picked up from didnt know what he was talking about! Wasnt worth the little bit I ended up saving!

2022-02-25I reserved a rental for Uber with them and when i arrived i was told that they had no rentals available and they dropped the ball with calling to inform me because they thought i had already been there. Surprised and stranded the employee Jamie Harris proceeded to tell me I had to leave because they were closing soon! I have never experienced such things. All I got was a we dropped the ball and when i said i wish they had done they job and had given me a call at least she said we don’t have to do our job!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE RENT FROM THIS LOCATION!

2022-06-21Very unprofessional and disrespectful service at this location I reserved a car for Uber drive two days ahead and got confirmation emails and I wanted to make sure before I go to the location so I called the location number but they didn’t pick up the phone and I was asked to confirm the reservation through an automated system and I did I had to call for Uber ride to take me there paid about $36 for the ride got to the location and they told me they didn’t have a car for Uber there lot is full of cars that fit the Uber requirements so I told the lady behind the counter that I tried to call them and she goes like sorry we don’t have any in a very disrespectful way. While I was waiting for my other ride to take me home a young black man walked in he went to one of the ladies and told her that he is coming to pick up an Uber drive car and she didn’t tell him what they told me so I guess I was the wrong color person. I called their corporate and made a complaint but they just advised me to go to another location. This place is a joke I don’t recommend any one to go there for rental just a punch of lazy and unprofessional people. I should have read the reviews before going there.

2022-04-12To Whom It May Concern,The moment I walked in the door the supervisor, Jaime, was very unprofessional and disrespectful. Her initial response was, didnt you get my message, you were suppose to be here at 5:30pm? My reservation was for 6pm; I found out after the fact, that she left a message at 3:30pm the same day, informing me about the abrupt change (I was still at work). At one point, she said she was doing me a favor by not cancelling my reservation. In addition, she loaned me a vehicle that had obvious damage on the front driver side panel and a warning light came on when I started the vehicle. Furthermore, the seatbelts in the back and the front passenger seat did not function properly. I asked Jaime for the name of her supervisor, she did not provide that information.When I returned the vehicle, Danny (that is the name she told me), spent a lot of time checking another vehicle instead of simply focusing on the rental I was checking in. She did not produce a final receipt; when I requested an electronic receipt, she said I may not receive it until the next day. I never received a final receipt.This was my worse experience with Avis Car Rental. The type of service I received was embarrassing. CAVEAT EMPTOR.

2022-03-01Rented a van to me, bad tires, had to keep filling up all the way to FL. Busted windshield wiper fluid well, couldnt clean windows on a snowy day. Key fob battery low. Dangerous. Jose at Budget in New Port Richey made it right. He is amazing!

2022-06-02The experience here gets worse every time I rent here. Definitely will be my last rental experience from Avis. Ignorant employee Jamie. Advising anyone to avoid this location at ALL cost. Poor management, poor customer service and unprofessional. Waited over an hour outside of the building for her.

2022-07-05Rented a 2020 Chevy Trax for a 1,700 round trip journey. It averaged 33.5 mpg on the freeway.That saved me a ton of money on fuel vs. my full size Super Duty.

2021-06-14I had made my reservation for noon, I arrived at 1130 and was informed that the van was not there yet. I was told it was coming from another location and that it could be there any second and they would call me. I asked if it would for sure be there by 3, he assured me it would and that they would call me. I called at about 2 since I had heard nothing, he said hopefully it will be there by 3 and that they would not put me in another vehicle. I arrived a little after 3 and there was a van in the parking lot, they said it had just gotten there and it would be ready in 20 mintues.45 minutes later I finally got the keys, as I was headed to leave I was informed they had forgotten to fill the tank up, it was only about an 1/8 below full and I had no more time to waste so I just said I would do it and left. They were extremely rude to me and not at all even apologetic for the major inconvenience. During my trip I noticed that the front 2 tires were completely bald! They had no absolutely regard for my safety in their vehicle on top of not caring about my time or patronage. I have rented plenty of vehicles and never had to perform a basic safety check!!

2021-10-11Repeatedly overcharged!!! This place accidentally double charged my account 3 times causing my bank account to go into a negative balance the day before rent!! My account was charged over $300.00 sat sun and mon!!!!! Yet noone thought it was an error until I called 🤔??!!I would like the president of Avis to contact me!! Asap this is unacceptable.

2021-08-17I came here for my car, they refused to allow me to use my debit card. I had called the day before to see if u could use my debit card the customer service line told me that I could use my debit card, but they would have to check my credit. When I went there they rudely refused to take my credit card DO NOT GO HERE. SAVE YOUR MONEY
