The rental was 120 a day i rented it for 3 days bringing the total to 360....however once i returned the car they charged me 360 for 3 days and no one caught it but me. I was a little annoyed that no one even thought twice about that high daily price for a small size sedan. They even went as far as actually confirming that it was accurate because they have it typed in their new paperwork. I literally had to show them their own contract i signed with their own prices including my original receipt. before they realized that they screwed up on the new paperwork they typed up less than 5mins ago. 🤦🏽‍♂️. My only other complaint is the deposit process in which im sure i didnt get it back.

Comment: Made a reservation for a box truck three months prior to the date I actually needed it. Two days before I get a call and they’ve cancelled my reservation due to “not having enough inventory” or whatever excuse they made up. I asked them if there was any help I could get from them on what to do at this point, and was basically told I was SOL. Now I’m scrambling and will have to pay much more to get a truck elsewhere last minute. Stay away!

Comment: I’ve rented from Avon a few times and they have always been helpful, reasonable & reliable. They have trucks when many don’t.I’m a small personal production service & it’s never been a problem to rent anything I need,Unlike some other places that only rent to big studios etc.Their Hollywood location is slightly hard to access, but they shuttle you to the lot where you pick up your rental. Price wise they are best now that you can’t get cargo vans through hertz or enterprise (thanks amazon) also good amount of miles included in overall rental if mileage is a issue. I’ve had to deal with claims dept because of a small damage to a van, they didn’t take advantage of the situation, it was cheaper then I expected, actually.They’re not perfect but that’s life. Avon is better then most & im happy to do business with them.PS this is not a family, employee, friend review as someone stated below. This is real life nobody but a customer review!

Comment: This company has so much potential, but a lot of room for improvement too. First of all, within the Hollywood area, it pretty much as the best reviews and best value for money!But I think the experience can be improved though, as this was my experience:1) I booked a car online. But when I went to the location to pick up the car, the staff member still had to check if a car was available. This says to me Avons link between physical availability of a car and the website needs to improve.2) Staff member was friendly enough, but it still took him 15 minutes to process the paperwork until I was ready to drive the car. Just get a good consultant in to see how this and the above can be improved.3) This is abit of a wish list for Avon, but itd be great if you had an airport drop off/pick up location in future. Ha, would have saved me an Uber fare! :)

Comment: I rarely review anything, but I will make an exception for this place, because it is the worst! Im always waiting around 45-1hr for my truck. Customers come and go, and yet Im still waiting. Dont trust your personal vehicle being parked here. The lot is a mess of gravel and mud, and they will move your car to get others out throughout the day. I drive manual transmission and if they dont know what they are doing, they will ruin your trans, this happened to my roommate and they refused to pay for damages. The only redeeming quality is they park your truck at the end of the day. Save yourself a hastle and go somewhere else.

If you do this long enough youll have a problem with a truck is a statistical reality. The key is how quickly your rental company can/will get you back on the road so you make your day... The handful of times I had a problem, They had me back on the road within an hour.... (it wasnt even a mechanical problem with the truck, vandals stole the batteries and Avon still had me covered).

They are often busy and run out of vehicles quick, but they have been very helpful in securing vans for me when needed and I have always had a wonderful experience with their customer service. I do recommend calling after you reserve online to make sure the vehicles are on hand, but you will not be let down.

Comment: By far the worst rental experience I have ever had. I rented a truck from them, purchased every single insurance that they offered, and the damage wasnt covered at all. Not a single cent. When they initially contacted me about the damage, they claimed it would not exceed $1500, which was what the deductible was for their insurance. I was willing to accept that, but just got the bill today and nope, not even close. I am being billed almost $2800 dollars for damage. But I guess I should expect this type of conduct after talking with a friend that used to work there who said that Avon makes a profit off of accidents.If youre a production company, Avon MAY work with you. But if youre an individual, dont EVER rent from them. Their rates seem reasonable at first (until all the taxes and fees add up), but theyre insurance is a complete scam. I will never use Avon again, and will urge all of my friends in the industry to use Galpin Studio Rentals instead.

Comment: I rented the Hybrid Diesel Electric box truck for 10 days and would highly recommend it! At current pricing it only costs about $70 to top off from near empty and over the 10 days I only had to fill it up twice. Its definitely more fuel efficient then a standard box truck and with LAs notorious traffic the hybrid system has plenty of opportunity to do its thing. The included free milage per day was a big perk as well, as the same size truck from uHaul would have not only cost me considerably more in fuel but the mileage costs would have been more then the daily rental fee!I will definitely rent from Avon again next time I have a production job in Los Angeles!

Comment: Bad customer service. Liars. Rented a 20 truck for 120+10.75 services fee=132. Run for 40-50 miles and refueled accordingly. Note, when I picked up the truck the fuel gauge was lower than full by 1/8. Filled it to Full! Returned the truck the same night, and specifically asked parking attendant if fuel was sufficient and he indicated that it is full and You are ok. Next day got charged for $160. Called Avon - representative states that I have returned the truck not full and was charged for 1/8 of a fuel tank. Total liers. Representative - zero customer service. Asked to talk to the manger who assumed same position. She stated the attendant on the night parking lot was not supposed to clear the fuel, but damages only: But the attendant specifically said that I was fine on the fuel! What a bunch of liars. Asked if they care about online reputation, and was told they dont as long as it is fair. Well fair enough they will get what they deserve! 0 stars. Avoid at all costs. Rent elsewhere. Note: Truck was dirty: like someone was moving onions a day before.

Comment: I work in the TV industry and have been to Avon countless times. Ive rented from them for personal use also before. This time was like the rest, very easy rental transaction and pickup. I only had the truck as a 4 hour rental. I returned it before my allotted time was up and w way more gas than I needed to have, but thats besides the point and its not a big deal. What happened though is that they initially overcharged me almost twice as much (and tacked on 300+ miles). I called numerous times to get this fixed, had to wait over the weekend since accounting isnt in over the weekend, wait an extra week, got recharged and refunded another time of different and wrong prices. Shari, in accounting really delivered and helped through this process, so shes awesome. I still like Avon, but really got put through the ringer on this and had I been so nonchalant in rental and paying my bill, I wouldnt have noticed. My advice if anyone from Avon reads this: I understand that it takes time to assess the vehicle and do the necessary vehicle checks on it, but if you can note mileage used and initial prices immediately on site (during drop off), that would be monumental for customers. Im sure a lot of info gets passed along from the P/U and D/O lot (on orange) and the HQ (on la brea) that gets lost and customers get overcharged. Just my 2 cents.

They do a very detailed inspection before giving me the car, often pointing out scratches that I would have missed to make sure that I am not held responsible for something that I did not do.
