The staff at Barry’s is wonderful. They are honest and Professional and very fair with their costs. We have taken all our vehicles to Barry’s for over 18 years and the staff and the service has remained top notch. You can be assured that you will be comfortable taking your vehicle there.
I started working on cars before I could drive them. Nowadays theyre so complicated that its not easy to unravel the issue and taking vehicles to someone you trust is a huge relief. We have taken our vehicles to Barrys for years now and they are the most competent, courteous and fair priced vehicle repair place around. We will always feel confident that we will be well taken care of by everyone at Barrys.
Barrys is great. Scheduling an appointment was easy and the staff was very friendly. They do a great job of communicating what work they recommend doing and why. The prices are also very reasonable. Ill continue to bring my vehicle here.
I have been using Barrys to service all of my vehicles (I currently have 4) for many years. Barry is by far the best mechanic I have ever dealt with. He always quickly and accurately diagnoses any issues and completes the repairs in an efficient manner. He is as honest as the day is long and he truly cares about his customers. I will not even consider taking my vehicles anywhere else for service.
Ive been going to Moe, Barry and Frank for 16 years. I drive in from New Hudson to have them service my vehicles. They are thorough, have always been reasonable and provided excellent work.

I needed a repair done quickly and couldn’t put it off another day. I found Barry’s Auto Tech by recommendation of another local garage. They exceeded every expectation. Barry did my repairs faster and cheaper than his original estimate, and did an extra repair free of charge. This is the only garage I will consider getting repairs done at in the future.

I give this place 5 STARS!! I have never had any services done here until now. I was concerned about my squeaky breaks and drove in. They were very accommodating. I was expecting bad news and spending lots of money, but Barry and Frank surprised me. NOT YOUR TYPICAL MECHANICS!!! HONEST enough to tell me nothing was wrong with my breaks and send me off with only a minor fee. AMAZING! You dont find people like this anymore. Honesty and Integrity. Great Service! The people know what they are doing, The workers were friendly, honest, and went the extra mile to help me with my care car repair at a fair price. This place gave be the best deal on my repair compared to any other place Ive taken my car to in the past. I will be staying away from the dealership and only taking my car into Barrys Auto when theres a problem with my care. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is local. Great Guys! One of the few honest mechanics I have dealt with. He isnt the cheapest but he isnt the most expensive either. He guys are good, honest, fair and do quality work. I have personally been going to him for over 10 years. The only thing that has kept me a away at times has been location (I have moved a few times). I highly recommend them. I only wish they would expand. They get pretty busy. Make sure you call to get in early. You usually have to wait 2 weeks to get in for an appointment.
I have used Barry’s Auto Tech for over 20 years. I would highly recommend them for any car problem you’re having. Excellent at diagnosing and fixing the problem whether the car is new or 15 years old. I always enjoy seeing Barry, Mo, and Frank.
We do business with Amazon and we take our vans to Barrys. Get me in and out, they let me know what is wrong with my vans/cars. I love them and will continue to refer them to other people.

Myself, and my family have used Barrys for all sorts of repairs, advice and guidance. His shop never disappoints, the work is quality, and they are very fair when it comes to discussing the repair work, and pricing. The shop has worked on my older cars (69 & 71 Cutlasses, and 87 Formula Firebird) as well as all of the newer ones when they are beyond what I want to take on.

Barry and the guys are great. With great communication. Did everything I needed to get my 55 Belair on the road after sitting for 5 years.
Made me wait an entire month to do my brakes. Then when the time came to do them, he called me to come pick up my van because he couldnt do them. He fed me some double talk about the steering as his excuse. Would give this place -2 stars if I could, very aggravated.
We had been told we needed a new serpentine belt and didnt want to drive the 10 hours home with a questionable belt. We called Barrys because my parents recommended it and they not only got us in right away, but they didnt find anything wrong with any of the belts and didnt charge us for the time they spent on the car. Great service.
Spent years feeling raped by auto dealers and other repair shops. Now I only take my cars to Barrys. They are not magic, as nothing will keep 20yr old cars driven in SE Michigans salty winters from problems. But they are friendly, conscientious and fair, explaining options and being candid when a problem can have multiple causes. They have made my life much easier. And even with the cost of repairs and the occasional inconvenience of having a car in the shop, I am way ahead of new car payments.
Honest, Fair price, Great Work. I took my car to Barry after another mechanic told me a $2000 repair may fix my A/C. Barry Auto Tech fixed it for $50. Their expertise and honesty saved me a lot of money
Barrys has always been amazing to me and my family. I had them look at my breaks and they honestly told me the back had to be done now but i can wait 6 months on the front. What other shop would tell you the truth like that?They are not the cheapest place in town but they are the best!

Ive only had to have my oil changed (knock on wood), but theyve always done a great job. No loose lugnuts or overfilling the oil.

I have trusted my vehicles to Barry and his staff for years. The garage has all the attributes an exceptional facility needs: 1. They are incredibly honest. 2. They are incredibly good at what they do. 3. The prices are fair.It’s not complicated. Or at least it shouldn’t be. But Barry’s fits all the criteria, and most other garages do not.Highly recommend! (P.S. because they are so good they often have a backlog. It’s worth the wait)

2022-08-19This is the only place I will take my vehicle! They have wonderful staff, who are very knowledgeable, and will get you the best price. Most places are consistently trying to rip me off. Barry’s can be trusted to do the work at a fair price. They were quick and helpful! I will not be going anywhere else and will recommend them to everyone I know. They are the place to go!

Prices are very reasonable and never over priced! You will be very happy with his services!! Ive dealt with him several times and he has always discovered and resolved my issues! And he wants you to follow up with him in regards to your vehicle.. His staff and techs are very good as well... dont hesitate to take your vehicle to him!!!

2021-04-10Barrys has worked on three of my familys vehicles. All are high mileage, but well maintained. Barrys replaced a steering rack system on one car, a leaking windshield washer bottle on another (those are usually wedged in the engine bay), and driveline oil changes on our AWD SUV.I feel that they are an honest business. On the steering rack, they recommended that they install the dealer part, as they thought it would be more durable than aftermarket, for example. On the SUV, as Barry was driving me home in it, we discussed a noisy hub bearing, and he drove to the right, and the left one hummed louder. I thought both were bad.I think that their prices are reasonable, compared to a dealer. They are not inexpensive, but you do get what you pay for.I am a retired automotive engineer, and have had some unpleasant experiences with some of the dealerships in Metro Detroit. How many times I have had to return to a dealer because the problem was not fixed right, the first time.We did have an issue with the windshield washer bottle, and Barrys fixed it the next morning, as my daughter waited, on her way to work. They had the hoses to the pumps switched.Also, once a vehicle gets out of warranty, it is nice if you can find an independent company to keep your fleet going. I recommend Barrys, as they are definitely knowledgeable about vehicles with some mileage on them. They are pleasant to customers, and that is a important plus.

2021-01-14The only place I will take my car. Absolutely amazing and honest service. They always take care of me, and dont carge the heck out of me. Ive brought my car in a few times, not knowing the problem, and within the day, they had it figured out, and fixed. From engine/transmission service to shocks and and suspension, theyve always been able to get me back on the road. I dont trust anyone working on my car, I usually do the work myself. But when I need some help, Barrys is the only people I trust. Always professional and honest.

2021-03-09Barry, Frank, and MO are the best mechanics hands down. They treated me almost like family since the first day I met them. Besides their customer service, they do great work. My 69 Mustang will never see another shop while this shop still stands. I have referred them to family and friends and they all feel the same. Keep up the great work guys

Not only are they great and honest people, there work is nothing but superior to any other shops I have ever used. A 5 star rating is beneath them for there quality of work. 2020-03-15Barrys has been my go-to mechanic ever since I got my first car in 2012. Even though I live further away now, I still come back for repairs and maintenance because I just dont trust anyone else. Theyre incredibly fair, and their pricing is fantastic. I never feel like Im being taken advantage of as a young woman walking into their shop. Barry, Mo, and Frank are always friendly and happy to explain in more detail how the parts of my car work together, which is great because I appreciate having the knowledge. Even when Ive gone to other places, if something hasnt felt right, Ive brought other estimates to Barrys to look at, and 3/3 times its happened, theyve gotten me back on the road for less than the estimate, and let me know that over half the things were not broken. I trust these guys implicitly! They do wonderful, honest work!This is a fantastic business to support, and Ill continue to do so!

2018-10-18Spoke with Barry initially for the repair I needed. He was knowledgeable and fair. After looking at my car they were upfront with what needed to be done and also threw in a common replacement procedure needed for my car while working on my issue, saving me the labor on that work. The labor price was fair and the parts price is the usual doubling youll find at all shops. Frank who did the work was a great guy, very knowledgeable and professional. Would recommend having your work done here.

2021-03-14Brought our Caravan in for a leak and check engine light. problems were diagnosed and repaired that day for a decent price. Barry stayed past closing time as we were not able to get there before closing, so we could get the car back that day. He didnt give me a list of 10 other things that might need attention. It was our first time at Barrys, and will definitely not be the last!
