I had reserved a room on Feb 24th for a two night stay from 3/12-3/14 through Hotwire. On March 12th, drove 14hrs to get here to find a sign on the door saying As of March 6th will be closed for renovations until further notice. I called Hotwire who said they were never notified of this hotel closing. They then booked us a hotel down the street. Why did this hotel NOT look at the reservations booked before they closed to ensure everyone was notified.
Friends and I were looking for a spontaneous night away with a pool for our children. We found Bay Valley Resort by a fluke and boy it did not disappoint. The rooms are a little dated, but clean and for we were looking for served the purpose. The staff was very friendly and hospitable and our dinner at the lounge was delish. Finally, the pool which is what we were looking for was amazing!! We will definitely be back!
This was a great stop. We were just looking for a reasonable room on that side of town and were pleasantly surprised. Clean, spacious room. Even though it was 3rd floor, there was an elevator so we didnt have to carry bags through a lobby and upstairs. They are just getting reopened, so no 3rd shift person after 10 PM and no breakfast.
I’d leave 0 stars if I could!!!! Terrible place! We had our wedding reception planned there, but due to covid we had to delay it in 2020. Before we delayed it let me tell you! Some of the food was undercooked at the tasting! Terrible! So then we had to cancel our postponed date for this year because we still thought travel was ill advised for ourselves and many of our guests (some of which overseas) and we were told we could get a refund for our deposit. Let me tell you that’s a NOPE!!! You get $0 back and then blamed cause oh we were open and you could have had your wedding even though restrictions were just lifting when we cancelled. And the worst part!? It took 3 months to find out we couldn’t get our refund!!! Not a couple days…not a week…3 months!!!!!! Unacceptable!!!! And the parking lot looks ghetto and not maintained well at all!!! Do not trust these people with your wedding reception!
This “Resort “ is such a health hazard I’m not sure why it’s even open still , leaking ceilings, my feet almost stick to the carpets when I walk Trash left in my room mold in the coffee maker And if your expecting a fully functional room with microwave and refrigerator keep looking I had to call4 times to front desk to get all the amenities an actual GOOD resort provides. So after I worked hard to furnish my room I was not charged quoted price but 25-30 more and all that the front desk “Tiffany “ could say is I’m sorry Liz was supposed to adjust price but she’s not here Oh well Good riddance!! Liz the manager is the poorest excuse for a manager maybe if she put the cigarettes and phone down long enough to accommodate the guests things would run smoother but NEVER AGAIN bay valley!!!
The place is falling down, its gross and disgusting. The worst part is most of the management. The food and beverage manager, Jessica is amazing! But the front desk manager, Elizabeth is down right rude and made my stay unbearable. 4th of July weekend they had a water issue and there was no hot water the entire weekend but they charged holiday rates. Once I brought up a discount for my month stay, me and Elizabeth got into a dispute and I ended up leaving and coming back to my room keys all of a sudden not working. This was at 130am. No 3rd shift staff. Once I was finally able to get into my room at 3am after calling and texting the emergency number I packed my bags and left right then
Really wanted to like this place for its historical feel but after my stay it feels more like an old neglected hotel which is falling apart and the proprietors don’t care. I have a huge list of things wrong with my two day stay but the most frustrating was my door cards always kept being deactivated randomly (I had to carry both door key cards around cause of this). Some of the doors wouldn’t open for the keycards at all! The wifi also stopped working completely and the front desk didn’t care at all, in fact when I called hours later to check if they were fixing it I was told they weren’t and just got the same don’t care attitude. There wasn’t many people staying here even during a holiday weekend and I can foresee they are going to have a hard time getting customers in the future.
I stayed at this hotel on July 4th. I was charged $155 for one night stay. The room had no amenities. No refrigerator, no microwave and pretty much no TV. Only one station came in, the news channel. The hot water went out right when I checked in so I did not have hot water. This issue would not be resolved during my stay. I asked for a discount on my rate for this inconvenience, but the lady at the desk just laughed. The staff was horrible and not helpful at all. The room was tiny and cramped. Overall, this place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and I will not be back.
The GM is unprofessional and rude especially to her employees. She fires whoever doesn’t agree with her and acts like she has the authority to ban old employees from coming back. If you’re considering working or staying here, you’d be better off elsewhere. The rooms have leaking ceilings that get onto the beds, the patios outside the rooms are disgusting, the drinks at the bar will make you sick, and the whole place smells of mildew. The GM belittles employees out in the open for guests to see and constantly talks about being short staffed but refuses to hire anyone if they look or act a certain way.
My wife and I have stayed at Bay Valley Resort/Hotel approx 150 nights since 2009...Many getaway weekends. Always enjoy our stay there...Great food in dining room or in lounge, have enjoyed drinks and entertainment in Player’s Lounge many times....View of Golf course is great when looking out from Player’s Lounge or Dining Room...Jack Nicklaus designed golf course is excellent, very nicely laid out, picturesque, and challenging...Golf course is very well maintained.
We recently spent 2 nights at this resort. All of the people we dealt with from booking to check in to restaurant workers to people on the golf course were very professional in our dealings with them. The golf course was in good shape and was fun to play. The food in the resort was very good and reasonably priced. The pool area is a really great area to hang out or enjoy yourself after a hot day on the golf course or visiting places in the area. The rooms while clean and comfortable were a little outdated, there was no flat screen TV in the room, I havent seen one of those big TVs in a long time. This is the first golf resort we have been to that did not have a fridge and microwave in the room. A short phone call took care of fridge and microwave, they were delivered shortly after. Having said all of that, if in our travels we get the chance to go back we will. It was a nice place to stay and we enjoyed ourselves while we were there.
I have stayed here the last 12 years when in the area I have never had as bad of experience as I did this time. Indoor outdoor all season pool was closed for the season nothing on the website about that. That breakfast room was filthy tables were not washed. The toaster not working and the biscuits and gravy looked as if it were just grease. Next time will not be staying here. Got 3 rooms and none of them near the others. One was one another floor.
Upon arrival, I was not impressed. The facility is dated. I got to my double bed room and I felt like I just stepped back into 199?. I checked in and left. When I got back with luggage in had, my room key card did not work. I went to the front desk and they told me my room was upgraded!I got a king bed with a nice mattress and window opening (is a plus)!I definitely recommend this place, food was good, staff was very welcoming, once renovations are complete, this will be a very charming resort.
I had my wedding here on 11.17.18 and was blown away with the staff here. Im not sure why they have so many negative reviews, they definitely are not warranted. Megan, the event coordinator, is amazing. She made the planning process so easy, and responded to each and every email and answered every question I had in a timely manner. While some of the rooms are outdated, for the price, who cares? I didnt expect anything modern. My guests had no complaints, they just wanted a bed to sleep in so they didnt have to worry about driving. Food was good, guests had a great time, and if were to do it all over again, Id still book with Bay Valley.
Ive stayed here many times before and always had a great experience.. until this weekend. I dont know if its new owners or maybe most of the staff is on strike, but it was grungy, the food and service sucked, and my room didnt even have soap. Dont get me started on the roofing debris on my patio or the fact they didnt honor my AAA coupon. You absolutely lost a regular customer this weekend
Booked a suite and while the room itself was spacious. Not a traditional suite. Also the Bathroom was a joke. The tub shower was designed for someone my height 52. My 64 husband couldnt stand up in it. Our suite was on the 3rd floor. But sadly no elevator service. So we had to carry our multiple bags up 6 flights of stairs. The sofa was an old dilapidated futon in need of replacement. The vanity was so tiny and not makeup friendly. We were there to attend a wedding and the buffet food was over cooked vegetables and tepid meat. The brides parents room had no heat.. which they tolerated for 2 nights before anyone from maintenance appeared to look at. Another relatives room had a barely flushing toilet . Althought I was not surprised by any of this. When I booked our suite and tried to ask about amenities, the reservation clerk said to me. Maam you do realize this is kind of a dump... Alrighty then.
We go here every year for the kids birthday because they love the indoor outdoor pool in the winter. This year we get there, with 7 kids... Oh the pool is broken and wont be fixed until april.. So we have 7 kids in a hotel with nothing to do. Total waste of money. Definitely could have told us that the pool was down when we called and booked the rooms. But nope.
Very very nice . Quiet like a funeral.no one at front desk. Stood there a couple minutes. When lady came out she was very nice. No one there more like a hall for rent. No Christmas music playing not very interesting or inviting.. shame nice looking place.pleaae put up a sign up at the light I cant believe you didnt think of that on your own..........
I enjoyed a cigar outside, and they charged me for a cleaning charge and damage to the room. They found a cigar wrapper, and damage of a cigar on the sink (that might have been there 20 years and charged to 100 peoples room bill.)Service was not terrible, but it was an awful place for a conference attended by people with mobility issues (like senior citizens.)Last visit was in 2016, and I would never go back.
I love it here! By far the best hotel Ive ever been in. The waitress was so wonderful and kind! The rooms are outdated but I loved it. Reminds me of a castle! Food was great! Pool and hot tub area was clean, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Definetly will return and recommend to anyone!
Resort is much larger than it appears, with hallways that go in every direction and seem to go on forever. Its a really cool older building, with slightly dated decor but it goes it all flows really well. It makes feel like im staying at grandmas house for the weekend, which is definitely not a bad thing. Pool, hot tub, restaurant. Would highly recommend if in the area.
Most of the rooms do not have refrigerators. The ones that do sit on the floor and do not have a freezer section. Everything is dated. The bedding, the carpets, ours had a big stain, even the iron was rusty and hard to use, the wallpaper. Our blow dryer didnt work. There is no air-conditioning in the main bldg area. Breakfast was no good. The people were accommodating and friendly.
Attended a wedding reception. The food was OK, bit nothing special. Rafters above us were covered in dust and cobwebs. My son reserved a room with a king bed and was given a room with two small full beds. Management was rude when he discussed this with him. No discount or apology offered. Also rooms do not have mini fridges. Definitely not worth the prices.
Tried to play a 6 person scramble was told to split up, I have no problem with that. After a couple holes a group of 8 group rolled up behind our 2nd group. The ranger told us they have special permission, and we did not. He also told us they were members and play here regular, we later find out they were not. I had no problem with telling us to split up, but to have another group and lie about theyre situation. Very upset with how this course is managed, I will not be golfing here again. I recommend golfing at another course in Saginaw, theyre is many others who are more welcoming.
This place is huge, like you could get lost huge. I was on a bowling team in high school and we always went there. Its beautiful, spacious, and elegant. While being a much older looking building it gives off a The Shining vibe which personally I like, but if I ever see twins there Im out! 😂
The hotel is broken up into two sections the older section seems to be going through some overhaul which is good because its not that appealing. Visiting a guest that was staying in the older section. Indoor/ Outdoor Pool and hot tub were nice. Looks as if it will be very nice after remodel is complete.
We have stayed here several times over the last four years. Nice quiet hotel. Little dated rooms but overall great stays. Staff is very dependable and several in the past have went out of the way to make sure we had a excellent experience and stay. Looking forward here in a few weeks to spend our 16th anniversary. Hope its another great experience.
I was surprisingly impressed! My stay here was wonderful and Im planning on making a trip back with the kids just so they can swim in the AMAZING pool! Our room was clean and stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. Several options of shows to watch on the tv.
We tried their Sunday brunch this past Sunday and am glad we did. It had been a while since we ate here and had a coupon for buy one get one free.Everything we tried was excellent. The roast beef was perfect for me, med rare and tender. The baked fish (cod) was very flavorful with an excellent sauce, salads were fresh and lots of adds ons available. I think it is one of the best brunchs in the area.WE will be back soon.
Beautiful, older hotel, attractive landscaping and entrance, very nice handicap accessibility. Friendly help, very clean everywhere, except carpeting in main areas, but golfers walking around taken into consideration. Super comfortable bed.nice golf coursequiet settingso nice, we stayed an extra night
I was the maid of honor for my sisters wedding. They had several issues with the location and when they were checking on places they decided to pick this one because Lindsay lied and made them feel that they were her top priority. Lindsay, the event coordinator, told us the water damage on the ceiling of the reception room would be fixed long before the wedding day. The day before the wedding we all went to decorate and not only was the ceiling now caving in from water damage but in one area, which happened to be right above the head table for the bride and groom, the ceiling was leaking. Lindsay again told us no problem, it would absolutely be fixed by that night. Well the day of the wedding all of us bridesmaids got wet all through dinner, dances, toasts, etc because the ceiling was leaking and dripping all over us the entire time. I asked a waiter (the waiter was phenomenal and very acoommadating the entire night) to let Lindsay know and when he came back he said that she said verbatim well the ceiling is going to leak because thats the price you pay when you have the air conditioner on. If that was a given due to the air conditioner then she should of A) told us that from day 1 and B) moved the table so the whole bridal party (and my sisters wedding dress) wasnt getting dripped on the whole night! I would NEVER come back to this place for any reason and I definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.
We had a great experience here on our motorcycle ride around Lake Huron. We arrived on a Monday afternoon and were quickly looked after. The resort is older (it has wooden doors!). If youre looking for modern, this isnt it, but if you like character, this has oodles! The pool is an indoor/outdoor affair with a river connecting them, and the hot tub is the real deal. We had dinner in the restaurant. Crab rangoons & an excellent steak and the price was perfectly reasonable, all in a dark wood restaurant bar... lovely!Unlike the family resort hell hole wed stayed in the night before, this place was quiet, cordial and free of screaming children and drunk parents on smartphones. My son was reluctant to saddle up again the next morning.
We had a conference at Bay Valley. The room was nice, the food was alright, about what is expect from a catering company. It was difficult to get a refill on water/coffee. A table of 8 only had one carafe of each. We had to ask multiple times to get a second, then we spent 3 hours listening to someone speak, with nothing to drink. One of the windows overlooking, what I believe to be a pond, was dripping water. It was a bit distracting as it was right behind the guest speaker. -I dont think I would have an event there.
If I could I’d put 0 out of 5, my buddy and I decided to come play the course middle of May we had never been here before. Pulled in and thought how beautiful the place was as the staff was really friendly. Warmed up on the driving range and then the issues began. Right off the tee box first hole heading down the fairway there are clumps, I’m talking softball sized clumps of grass we got to the green which was 75% sand. Figured it might just be a rough home, wrong, I’d say roughly 15 of 18 holes were like this, cart paths was like running a motor cross track with pot holes and dips. We even had 4 holes when we went to pull flags out pulled the entire hole out an couldn’t get the hole to come off the flag! I understand it is still fairly early season but it’s the middle of May and this course could be such a nice course. Great staff, fairly good rates but I’d much rather spend the extra $5 and play on a better maintained course.
We were very disappointed with our stay. Staff was not friendly nor helpful. Our air-conditioning unit was broken and never fixed. We strive on a Friday and were handed flyers for dinner for their restaurant they had with their specials on it. We were surprised when we got dinner to find that none of the information was correct. In addition we waited almkst 20 minutes to even be greeted! I had the fish and chips which was good but my mom had the steak and potatoes and they were cold. She sent it back and it came back still cold and the steak was charred. My cousin ordered a quesadilla and was brought the wrong meal. She had to wait an additional 10 min to get her meal. Needless to say dinner was a flop. We were also informed that there would be a DJ Saturday night from 9-2. We arrived back at the hotel from our bowling tournament around 10 to find no DJ and no food being served. Breakfast both days was a let down as well. Juice machine was broke so we asked if they could bring any out and we got attitude. When we said something to the front desk we got sorry I cant help you. No apology or compensation. I guess at least she smiles when she said she wpuldnt help us. The only good thing was we had a nice view of the golf course and pool from our room.
We had mix ups with our reservations to start. Then our door hardly opened and closed. The mattress box spring was ripped, the wall was rippled in 4 corners from water damage, the tv was old school with lines in it, the lamp fell apart when I turned it on, the chair was faded, stained, and ripped. The entire room was filfy. I would not stay there ever again even if they paid me to!
We just got here and are already completely disappointed. 20 year old tv, no mini fridge, no microwave. You can get them but they charge you extra for them. We stay at hotels all over and have never once encountered an additional fee to have normal hotel room items. We called to ask for early check in and we were told the housekeeper needs 3 hours to clean the rooms so no early check in. If everything wasnt booked for 40 miles wed be leaving. My daughter is staying at a $40 motel down the road with a flat screen, fridge and microwave.
Went there to visit family who were staying there for an event, outside looked nice got to the room very small for my brother wife and 3 kids they had 2 double beds for 5 1 of the kids had to sleep in a chair. There also was broken beer bottles on the outside of their sliding door that led outside. The walls had paint wallpaper coming off both in the room and the halls (paint was bubbling in Hall) rooms were very dark they had no microwave, and hotel wanted $5.00 a day for refrigerator for in room. Also my brother informed me that the breakfast did NOT include anything hot like a normal continental b-fast if you wanted anything hot you had to pay $6.00. My family are dinner with his family and we had pizza it was the worst pizzabreadsticks we had ever had my daughter got sick from it. The place also was hot humid and smelled of mildew if I could I would give it 0 stars!!!! I would not be paid to stay there!!!
Apparently the people in Bay County dont know what the hell a resort is . Hair dryer doesnt work ,wifi I doesnt work, my phone doesnt work, I was denied room service, it says Resort but theres no microwave or refrigerator in the room,. Ask to speak to the general manager and hes not here on Saturdays and Sundays hes probably just drawing a salary and apparently hes drawing it for doing nothing at all . The nice restaurant has closed down all they have is a lounge with burgers and sandwiches and wraps. Check out the picture with the lamp yes a nice resort sure.
I feel I really need to say something about my Mothers Day Brunch. There were 4 seating times and we decided to take the 2:30 seating. Our group of 13 consisted of an 82 yr. old mother, 3 yr. old grandchild, 15 yr. old nephew with a severe shell fish allergy and a Mom-to-Be. All 4 of which should be careful of what they were eating. I noticed that nothing on the buffet was marked. We had no idea what some of the items were. You could surmise what it might be, but you couldnt be certain. I heard complaints that food was cold. I tasted what was on my plate and it definitely was lukewarm to cold. I glanced up at the buffet and saw only a couple of the food warmers had a fire lit underneath. Not very good as far as food safety is concerned. The salmon, turkey and chicken were not up to temperature and cold. There was a sort of spaghetti dish which I took and my nephew with a seafood allergy told me he thought there were shrimp in the spaghetti. Really? Shrimp in the spaghetti. I told him that cant be right, but sure enough I found something that resembled shrimp, tasted it and indeed it was shrimp. I called the waiter over and told him to ask the chef if there were shrimp mixed in the spaghetti. He confirmed that sure enough the spaghetti contained shrimp. A spaghetti dish that was SUPPOSED to be Shrimp Fra Diavolo. What was in that food warmer was nowhere near Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Shrimp Fra Diavolo should be in a light sauce consisting of tomatoes, olive oil, garlic, parsley, crushed red pepper, white wine and a good amount of shrimp and if prepared properly you should be able to see every ingredient. What they were serving was more like Chef Boyardee from a can with a complimentary shrimp or two tossed in. Gross!!!! I also took what I thought was a chicken thigh. A family member sitting at the table had exactly the same thing except a little thicker and told me it was beef or steak. He said that it was kind of tough. I tried to cut it and he was right. It was very tough and once cut open was completely raw inside. Not rare, but raw. Again, I called the waiter over and showed him what was on my plate. He took it back to the chef and came back with the comment that the chef said it was rare and that there were rare, medium and well done pieces of steak in the unmarked warmer. The warmer that had no fire under it and had been sitting there with undercooked meat mixed in with cooked meat for who knows how long. Once again GROSS!!!! That was nothing but a breeding ground for salmonella. Who puts raw meat or even rare meat in with well done or medium meat? how about breakfast items. I thought those might be better to eat. Wrong. Scrambled eggs were lukewarm, bacon was undercooked. And I had a couple of sausage that were so overcooked, it literally looked like something someone’s dog dropped on a walk. Ok, how about dessert. Well they were almost nonexistent. We did manage to get a few small slivers of the dessert remains. I don’t understand what we experienced. Not once did the Chef (correction, Cook), come out of the kitchen with his thermometer to test the temperature of any of the meat. A respectable Chef would have been out of that kitchen immediately to check what was out on the buffet taking temps. and making sure things were labeled properly. The soda was flat and the chocolate milk was actually white milk with maybe a splash of chocolate in it. My 3 yr. old granddaughter told me that wasn’t chocolate milk. Even a 3 year knew the poor quality of the food presented. I don’t know if this was the circumstance for the entire day or if it was just for the final seating. Whatever it was, the final seating should be afforded the same dining experience as the earlier ones – no excuses! It really looked to me like the staff did not care nor take pride in their work. Such sloppiness. The price we had to pay for this fiasco was $24.99/Adults & $22.99/Seniors. Needless to say, we will not be returning to Heatherfield’s ever again. We were embarrassed that our family had to be subject to such a disaster. What a shame!
We had a beautiful day on the course, disappointed in the condition of a once spectacular golf course! The greens and fairways have bald spots. Looks like the roof is blowing off of the building a little at a time, generally it looks like everything is just in a state of decline.Ill play there again when I find a discount but its no longer worth full price.
Rooms are very out dated, our room had serious water damage and the a/c was taped in to place... you literally could see out to the parking lot around the acBut I called down to the front desk and they moved me to an outdated room but no where near as bad as the last place.
This is our third extended stay here. We love it...We have stayed in newer hotels but we like looking at the ponds and wildlife we see when we look out the window, and its quieter being set off the road. Also, some of the staff have been here since our first stay 12 years ago. When we need something....they do their very best to take care of it. We love the antique cherrywood decore and the marble tile. I hope they never change it!
Me and my co-workers stopped by for a drink after work. After our first round, the waitress left us with empty cups for 30 minutes. Upon tracking her down she said we were all closed out. Im not sure if the co-worker that left early paid for all of us, but it would be curtious to at least check on us.
The banquet services were what my experience with and I have to say they were not pleasent at all. The banquet staff that tended to the event was very rude and seemed to not give any care to if the group was taken care of properly. Several times reasonable tasks were asked of the servers and belatedly gnored and that is judged with a large patience factor. The service was subpar the facility was falling apar. For example: There are deep brown water stains on the ceiling, molding and wallpaper falling down and pealing back, carpet stained and very very warn. Bathrooms were disgusting for a place that was pretty much empty. The list could probably go on for days. To finish a slimmed down thought with a direct note... No I would never recommend this place and if it can be helped will never visit again.
Played the golf course for the first time this year after having played several times over the past 3-4 years. Very disappointed in the condition of the course. I understand it has been a dry year and most courses are having difficulty, but the course was in rough shape compared to previous years. Still a brilliantly designed course that will challenge you, but poor conditions make it hard to play, especially the greens and sand traps. Hoping it will be back in better shape next season.
Lindsey, the event coordinator, was very accommodating. We had our wedding ceremony there and everything ran pretty smoothly. There was a hiccup with my wedding officiant not showing for rehearsal but Lindsey let us stay and use the facility all night. I had tons of questions along the way but Lindsey was always very helpful. The price to add a microphone is $90 which i think is a little ridiculous but it is a beautiful place, a little outdated, but great for a wedding ceremony and even better for pictures. Food and service was mediocre. I definitely recommend hosting an event there.
Course seems on its last legs. Pace of play was not great, rough is very tall and make it hard to find your ball. Limited clubhouse. I lost a lot of balls in normal rough here. That being said, their online tee times are the cheapest around. Still good value when you want a cheap round.
The greens on the golf course were horrible. Below public course standards bad. Interfering with game-play bad. The tee box on one of the back-nine Par 3s was literally a sandbox with very little foliage, I believe it was hole 13 or 14. We actually joked that the hole should be a par 4 thats 150 yards because your first shot is out of the sand.Problem is, I golfed here for a bachelor party two years ago and the place was amazing then.
I have been to many hotels and this one has the worst WiFi connection ever. In todays technology I find getting an adequate wireless connection essential in todays business world. Your hotel gets a failing grade in this important area. Uploading or sending a file is impossible. Connecting to WiFi on your smart phone impossible. I was told to come downstairs and use their public computer or come down and sit closer to their servers. WTF!!! Really? You advertise high speed internet but apparently its not available in your room.+On the upside the room a nice size and well laid out ,it is cleaned everyday nicely ,nice sized flat screen TV, The hotel staff is very courteous, the front desk associates are very friendly, nice bar, they have a beautiful golf layout, they quickly accommodated me when I asked for a refrigerator and microwave for my room.My first review was unfavorable because I do a lot work via computer for my website. I have come to like this place after my second day here. Please fix the WiFi service.
Do not book any type of event here. We drove down from Northern Michigan and meant with an event coordinator. After a few weeks of checking out other venues, all the while maintaining communications with the coordinator, we descided that this would be the place. We emailed our coordinator and made a verbal commitment to meet in 4 days to place our down payment. 2 days later we received an email informing us they booked the date they had verbally committed to. Bay Valley Resort told us they were so sorry and wished us luck. Bay Valley Resort conducts unethical business practices and has no care for clients or potential customers.
I attended an all white reception on June 30th 2018 of 100+ people...RESORT right?....WRONG we check in no problem and get the 1 and only cart wheel and take our bags into our rooms to get ready for this Big Day....My room was rather warm when I opened the door so I turn on the air...30 min goes by and I call maintenance because its blowing hot air.....he comes in stays for 20 min and says I fixed it!...If you have anymore problems out of this which i know you wont call for me and I will replace entire thing...this time its an hour 1/2 past check in time and dinner started at 6 so I get ready in a VERY hot room and called front desk again to let them know....the clerk said I will send him right up.....I then said Im getting ready for a reception...I have to leave my room and be late getting ready Vs you moving me clerk says if you want your air fixed.....Umm Ok..No one ever showed up.....I get ready I look amazing we get to dinner the water on the tables are WARM....its extremely hot in the dining area.....staff talked very rude when asking questions about the food..drinks..and temperature...We will see if we can turn up the air meanwhile everyone is so hot...the rooms looks like something of a horror movie inside a hotel...but the pool dispite a wore and very loose handle to the steps was clean looking....and the sun was out....I will never return to that place...no thank youOh and FYI the maintenance guy came while i was at the reception and fixed it once again.....we slept in a hot room that night or get moved to a completely different area and floor than the entire reception party and a guy that checked in after me had same problem and got moved across from me..Never Again...
THIS IS THE NASTY FREAKING HOTEL. I WILL FREAKING STAY HERE AGIAN IN LIFE. THE PEOPLE ARE SOME NAST AND MEAN. THEY ARE RUDE AND THE THE CLEANING PEOPLE DO NOT CLEAN THE ROOM. I HAD BLACK STUFF ON MY SHEET. I CAME FOR A SCHOOL EVENT AND I AM SO PISSED. IT WAS SO BAD THE I HAD TO CALL THE Corporate office. THE MAID THROW OUR GOOD EYE LASHES ON THE TRASH. I WILL NEVER EVER COME TO YHIS NASTY HOTEL EVER AGIN.
Came here for work in this area,at first site this place looked like a castle, the renovation looks great, but their TVs were old and had mold on them, when I asked to get a different one I was told no because I had a room with a balcony?then realized some of my clothes disappeared, when I told the manager she just shrugged it off and acted like it was nothing?not very professional!!
0 OUT OF 5 STARS IS TOO MUCH FOR THEIR MOTHERS DAY BRUNCH. ITEMS THAT WERE SUPPOSED TO BE HOT WERE STONE COLD. MY WIFE HAD A PIECE OF BEEF AND IT WAS RAW!! NOT RARE....RAW!!!.ALL OUR GUESTS HATED IT. ALL FOOD WAS COLD. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE TO SAY ABOUT THAT PLACE. WHEN I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER SHE SAID SORRY AND DID NOTHING ABOUT IT. WE WILL NEVER EVER RETURN THERE AGAIN. I SUGGEST EVERYONE DO THE SAME
This place is a dump...The staff in the restaurant do not care......The hotel itself reminds me of the movie THE SHINING...very creepy hotel....COME HERE IF YOU WANT....YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED......oh I almost forgot...I HAVE ANTS IN MY ROOM.....disgusting place..ZERO STARS.

2022-05-31Nice pool it is properly maintained as well as the indoor/outdoor pool. Room was clean. This business from what I observed has just re-opened there are thing that are lacking but the overall stay was good. If the owners get serious about this hotel property it would be a very nice place to stay. it has a nice decor, nice golf course... Id be interested in throwing events there because it has the potential to be a great event hotel

2022-03-01Sure things are a little unkempt for the age of this Resort, I however can look past such things and feel the years of life inside these walls. My 3 night stay was perfect. Heater works, hot running water for showers, clean linen, towels and toiletries were all provided. If you move the antenna around you do receive a few channels. My only complaint, when we added extra nights, we werent even offered an extended rate, nor the rate paid via Expedia. As an after thought we should have then said okay go up to our room and check out the rates to see if we could get that reduced rate again. The rooms truly are not worth $99 a night with no microwave, no mini fridge..

2022-05-13Is place is shadyyyyyyy last summer I booked my wedding through them. never once was told the building was for sale. my wedding was supposed to be 8/20/2022 (now 8/19 because everything else was already booked). in March they posted that they were closing with no reopen date. no one called me would answer their phones nothing. finally after about 2 weeks we were told that they would not be reopening and had sold the building to turn it into a medical facility. I asked about getting my $1000 deposit back and they said it would be a couple months. I just went and canceled the check. during their news interview they also said they had not taken any deposits since they had reopened in may (LIARS!). I would not book anything here EVER the building is probably still up for sale they are just trying to get every penny they can. the employees were told day off they had to get their stuff and leave.(at least what the former wedding coordinator told me) they had partys that weekend that just didnt have a place. my coworker saw they were reopening and tagged me in it they have laughed at our comment and then deleted them.

2022-02-21The place is old and dated. When you walk up the steps you can see they are broken and patched and the patches do not match the rest of the steps. The whole property is pretty much taken care of this way. The staff is also horribly rude. I came with a friend to an event in the area, and parked where we were told to so we could unload our luggage. We had just popped our trunk and starting to grab our suitcases when another employee came out and started yelling at us to move. She said if we didnt move right away she would have us towed. The rooms were in horrible condition also. If my company hadnt been paying for this room, I wouldnt have stayed and just walked out and found another place to stay.

2022-07-02Advertised to have free internet and continental breakfast. We staid in a double bed room, paid $199 for there to be no working television or internet or even a fridge or microwave. The beds were worn out and desperately needed to be replaced. We were in the basement area were you could tell they hadn’t done much cleaning. The carpet floors hadn’t been vacuumed in a while along with many cobwebs. There was dirty dishes and linens outside our door the entire stay. The night shift lady was super pleasant and helpful when it came to new and clean towels. I can’t say the same for day shift when we arrived at 10am for breakfast and all there was only muffins and yogurt. The girl working said they hadn’t been to the grocery store. “it is what it is” were her exact words. Very disappointed won’t be back.

2022-06-24Not as advertised!Says free internet, none available!Says premium TV channels, barely get over air channels.Says continental breakfast, coffee pots and packaged muffins.Ice machine had no scooper, I saw guests getting ice with their bare hands or scooping ice with their drinking cups. (Covid is over?)Not good, The employees were nice though.

2022-03-02I have reserved a night stay for my brother who was abruptly in between residencies and he walked into a his room and found a USED CONDOM and empty drinking containers. This was absolutely disgusting and after attempting to contact the manager and even GM the incident wasnt even acknowledged. I have stayed in many places and I have not experienced such awful customer service and poorly cared for rooms. When attempting to contact management I was even hung up on. I would not recommend staying at this place.
