Great history of the Native American (Odowa), Mormon, and Irish residents of the island. Lots of artifacts, story boards and a gift shop on the first floor. Second floor with exposed hand ax chopped walls is full of period furnishings. Friendly and informative staff. Well worth the short walk up from the ferry pier.

Stopped in for a quick visit and it was definitely worth it! Lots of interesting information that we would not have otherwise learned. Plus, Sue, the attendant, recommended some of the best trails on the island that we had not previously explored. Make sure you stop in and ask them if you have any questions or recommendations, they do not disappoint.

Great programming and meaningful asset to the island; many fun memories of museum week and nature adventures with CMU. Enjoyed the recent dendrochronology seminar and research findings.

This is your one stop shop for learning about all the great history of the island. The staff are very knowledgeable and it is free to enter so there is no excuse not to go. They also have a scavenger hunt for the kids. This should be one of the first places you visit, it will help you appreciate the island more.

The history museum was recently remodeled and reprogrammed. I was astounded by the lack of historical information and artifacts. The museum is like the worst Facebook post with no Wikipedia.

Tons of artifacts from King Strang to the lumber industry and lots in between! Really friendly docents! I loves the upstairs displays.
