This is My absolute FAVORITE place to eat when I travel back and forth to Toledo from Jackson. I will purposely NOT eat so I can eat here if I plan a road trip. EVERYTHING is just ridiculously Amazing and The Fried chicken is OMG to die for. Tender and juicy and the best seasoning on it. And my next favorite part is the sweet bread you get served with some of the meals. And the choices of the sweet bread are just phenomenal. EVERYTHING about this place is a cozy country kitchen and the Food is Crazy Delicious 🤤🤤🤤😋😋😋Oh and The Fried Green Tomatoes Are Also The Best..... It doesnt disappoint
Quaint little diner with ,laughable, funny decor. The food was good and the server was super polite. I feel that the price was a little high, I mean I had a $3.19 small Mason jar of orange juice. My bill for me and my 10 year old daughter was $30 before the tip. I would however, eat there again if the time arose I guess.
1st time here / always looking for new places for our Sunday dinner& since the Toledo BLADE gave them a great review a week ago we coul dnt wait to try it!REVIEW WAS SPOT ON !with a great menu I wasnt sure what to order but with praises from customers& our waiter my friend& I BOTH had chicken ( havent had a good chicken dinner anywhere in a long time but took a chance!AWESOME!especially the wings!best Ive ever had!fried green tomatoes good even the gravy on the delicious mashed potatoes/banan crm pie& blueberry good too/ HAPPY THEY HAD RASPBERRY THIS TIME OF YEAR ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT THEY WERE OUT OF BREAD BUT WE CANT WAIT TO TASTE IT NEXT TIME ITS AVAILABLE/ its definitly at the top of our FAVS dining PLACE!friendly NICE decor
Passing through for lunch. Stop in to get some take out. Tells me AFTER I pay and wait around for ten minutes that it will take another 45min to cook my 8 piece chicken. Are you actually kidding me lol? If I sat down for lunch would I be waiting 45 min for my food? 🤣😂🤣
Good good good! The fried chicken (and nuggets too) are prepared as you order. That means youll have to be patient... Maybe 20 minutes or more to get your meal.Well worth it! Good stuff and a pleasant wait staff.Oh .... And fresh bread as you wait. Many bread choices... Blueberry zucchini for me and apple cinnamon for my date... Really good. This is a nice place. Go and enjoy... And take your time🙂
Stopped by here on our way through Blissfield on a whim. Had never been here before. It smelled wonderful outside, like fried chicken.Inside, its just a small place but the menu was extensive, the servers very friendly, and they had about 3/4 capacity at the time. Our server Cortney was friendly and knowledgeable. Service was fast, the food delicious, and the homemade banana cream pie was like nothing I have never tasted. We will definitely visit again!
All homemade AWESOME FOOD, DELICIOUS. I had homemade beef and noodles, wife had homemade meatloaf, kids had the chicken tender bowl, all amazing! And their homemade sweet breads and pies were out of this world delicious! And to top it all off we had Courtney, our server was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about all the dishes. Thanks Courtney!!
My husband and I normally love this place. He loves the fried chicken and I love the fried green tomatoes. Not sure what was happening in the kitchen yesterday. They were out of white meat, no problem, he likes the legs, wings and thighs, but unfortunately it wasnt cooked the same as in the past. I got kountry fried steak which was way overcooked and was like chewing rubber and the fried green tomatoes were a pile of mush. Not sure if we will go back.
I ordered the breaded catfish with macaroni and cheese and buttered corn. But first our waitress brought out bread. I asked for the banana nut, which came out just warm enough to melt the butter that it didnt need. Then our main courses came out and it was all piping hot! And delicious! Best fish plate Ive ever had.
Beckeys place was great. For the price you got a lot of food. Everything is made from scratch. You wont leave there hungry thats for sure. Its like a little hole in the wall place, but well worth it. The staff of very friendly didnt rush us. I would check it out if youre hungry. The couple behind us had a believe a Taco salad and that thing was hugh. Great variety to choose from. From burgers, chicken, pull pork sandwiches to country fried steak with 2 sides and half a loaf of your choice of bread. Home made pies and cakes to get too. I most likely will eat there again.
We were greeted with a friendly smile by Olivia.Ordered the 4 piece chicken dinner.Made to perfection. Batter was very lite , juicy and delicious. The complimentary homemade breads were very tasty. The entire staff made us feel like Family. Were already Looking forward to our next trip there.Wont be Disappointed.
Worst dining experience Ive ever had. When we arrived and ordered there were only four other people in the restaurant. We did not get our bread, didnt see waitress after good was delivered. My mom ordered zthe Blue Gill diner and didnt get any tartar sauce and gave her the wrong drink. WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN. Our waitress name was Joliegh.
A true gem! The restaurant was clean. The server, Jen, was amazingly efficient, pleasant, and accommodating. Then there is the food...we came in for breakfast and it was a great value, portions were large, the menu was creative, and the food tasted great. We left with a carryout of fried chicken, the chicken is absolutely amazing. We will be back. Thank you Jen.
We had the worst experience. We ordered our breakfast and waited 40 mins to still not get our food. The waitress finally came over after a half an hour of waiting and said that our order got lost behind a big TO GO order. Instead of getting our breakfast ready, they continued the to go order. So after 40 mins we still left hungry without any breakfast 🥞
My waitress was good very tentative. The first time I ate here the food was amazing. Today I ordered all you can eat Maui supposed to be catfish was terrible. Catfish is a strong fish Maui is mild. Catfish has a slimy part on it this was Maui terrible. I ordered my food and it was done before the waitress got back to the kitchen. I asked for my food to be well done nope soggy. I tasted and felt like it was cooked this afternoon at 1pm and dipped back in the grease when I ordered at 730 pm. Unacceptable disgusting. I guess you get better food during lunch than dinner different cooks. Sorry for a disaster
I have nothing but AMAZING things to say about Beckeys!! The staff is always super friendly and very helpful when placing a to go order. The fried chicken is so freaking good we order it every time. Also there pies are quit your diet good!!! We got the banana cream pie last time and I could have eaten the whole thing to myself like it was a race!
I had a great Philly steak and fries yesterday. An awesome young lady prepared my order. She was very courteous and polite. I am sorry I didnt catch her name.I have driven down here from Hazel Park and from Onsted multiple times. The food and service are always great!
First time ever coming to this place cause we heard how great the fried chicken was only to drive miles to get there to be disappointed cause we were told no fried chicken they were out of oil...I mean I can understand running low on some products but oil when your place is known for fried Chicken and being told you could order other things but would be an hr wait. I was saddened however to hear the owner is battling brain cancer so I just want to say Im sorry to hear that and you will be in my prayers.
Sorry I didnt post this sooner. Id thought Id already given you 5 stars but Ill go ahead and do it now!! We love coming here for supper after Blissfield Bluegrass On The River. My daughter always gets excited because she wants fried green tomatoes!! I got her hooked on them!! The food is amazing and I love the blueberry zucchini bread!! If youre looking for good food youve come to the right place!! Dont forget the homemade jam!! Grab a jar or two its delicious!!🥰🥰
I have gotten a quart of chicken noodle soup there a couple of times and it’s very good. However the last time the cup wasn’t anywhere near full. I also ordered a take out cole slaw. The cup wasn’t even half full. Your food is great, but for the price the take out orders need to be what you pay for.
This is, by far, the best food you can get without driving at least to Ann arbor (and its better than most of what they have in Ann arbor too). Everything is homemade, and it tastes like mom made it just for you with an extra scoop of love. The service is kind and quick, and the atmosphere feels like home.Try the pumpkin bread, you wont regret it!!!
The food was absolutely amazing and I am hoping go back again someday. This must be Blissfields hidden gem and Im surprised there are not more of these. The blueberry zucchini bread was warm and fresh and the cheese soup was flavorful. The onion rings were the best I have every had. They werent overly breaded and had the perfect texture. I had the bbq chicken with bacon including the sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes. Our family also ordered the Reuben sandwich and cheese omelette with hashbrowns. The portions are generous and we all had leftovers to take home. Our waitress was courteous and attentive and did an excellent job. If you havent tried this restaurant I suggest you give it a chance.
A GREAT little Mom and Pop Restaurant!! Small but homey, its clean, cozy and friendly. The menu is diverse, with an emphasis on omelets of all kinds. The service is prompt and attentive, the food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable.Try the Apple Streussel French Toast. Fantastic and original.
BOTTOM LINE: good, honest home-style comfort food. Some okay, some really good, some so awesome you want to keep eating until your heart hurts. LOL. Its an unpretentious little Mom & Pop hole-in-the-wall, located right on the main U.S.223 drag. Been dining there for decades. Used to work in the area years ago and would often stop by for lunch on Fridays. Nowadays, my wife & I frequently grab breakfast on our way to go shopping down in Toledo. Big fan of their breakfasts. Specials are always a value. Their regular prices across the board continue to creep up year after year but are still pretty fair compared to other restaurants in the area. Desserts are excellent, so eat them first and take home your main meal leftovers! Their apple bread french toast is The Best!
I had purchased two four piece fried chicken with two sides on January 26th before noon. The portions were extremely small I spend 28dollars and could barely feed three people me my mom and daughter. Im not exaggerating when I say we each had about 1tablespoon of each side. Not worth it for the money spent. I purchased the same meal several times prior and the portions were much larger. Not sure if a mistake was made or not but definitely not worth it will go elsewhere in the future
Beckeys is the bomb. Had their apple cinnamon bread, WOW it was awesome!!! The meatloaf with mashed potatoes and gravy with green beans with bacon were to die for. Then to top it all off, was a very large piece on coconut cream pie. Again WOW just like my Grandma use to make. and to boot with all the great food was a gal who was the best waitress I have seen in a very long time. She knew all the specials, all the pies and all of the menu without reading it off a cheat sheet. The service was fantastic!!!
Other than the fact that this restaurant is very small and out dated I would give it 5 stars. My husband, daughter, and I went in for dinner. We had the fried chicken dinner, country fried chicken dinner, and my daughter had the pulled pork sandwich. Great portions, prices, and service from Kayla. Also, her recommendation for the blueberry zucchini bread led us to buy 3 loaves to take home, and put in the freezer. I dont know how I didnt know about this place, but will definetly go back.
Love Beckeys! They have great home cooked food for reasonable prices! Theyre breakfast items are my favorite, they even have some low fat options like their vegetarian omelet and salads, I love the Southwest chicken salad. The waitresses are always very friendly and attentive when Ive been there. I also really like the mini loaf of sweet bread you can get with most meals, it is so good! You can buy them to go too. You can also purchase their jars of yummy jellies!
Their food has always been good but their customer service is awful! That is from the owner himself! Stopped in yesterday and looked forward to a good meal, did a bit of shopping prior to stopping and had a lb of shrimp in our car, didnt want the shrimp to get bad as the weather was pretty warm. Brought a empty sandwich sized baggie and asked if we could get some ice to keep on the shrimp, they said NO, said we would pay for it, they said NO, THEY SELL ICE ACROSS THE STREET! Left and called to complain and spoke to Randy Becky he said he has been having trouble with his ice machine and he doesnt sell ice! Only wanted a handful! He was very inconsiderate and didnt care that we left! And they had no other customers at the time. As much as I liked their food I will not give them another penny of my money, I told my friends and family of the incident and they couldnt believe he couldnt accomidate our request for a small sandwich sized baggie of ice. You lost a lot of business because of your rudeness! Wonder if the health department knows of the issues with the ice machine...... NEVER GOING BACK!
My wife and I have ate here just this past Saturday. This is a good local home cooking restaurant. I have tried a couple different dishes. Everything is delicious and the ladies are very polite and fast even when they are busy. Will definitely eat here again in the near future.
Took 45 minutes to get 2 burgers and a chicken sandwich. By the time the food came. I could tell that mine had sat because the bun was soggy and the fries were cold. We waited 10 minutes with empty glasses for the waitress to come back for drink refills. The place was not that busy at all. I would not recommend to anyone nor will I be returning.
My husband and I usually pass by this place at least twice a week, and finally decided to stop in and try it. Im not sure if our server was new and if the kitchen was having an off day, but it was a disaster. First of all the menu stated that the meal I ordered (Chicken & biscuits) came with two sides, but then I was asked what bread I would like too. A few minutes later I was told that the sides and bread did not come with the meal and would be extra. I said that it said the sides came with it in the menu, but i f that wasnt the case I didnt mind paying extra for them. One of my sides never came, and the biscuits were hard and the chicken was disgusting. All in all, it was a terrible waste of my time, and I will not be returning any time soon if ever again.
Ive been here twice, and Ive been impressed both times. At first glance it looks like your standard greasy spoon breakfast (I havent partaken of their lunch menu yet,) but the home-made touches really pull the meal together in to a wonderful food experience. Portions are generous. The decor was a little excessively campy, but since we were there antiquing anyway, it fit right in to our motif for the day. I also took home some sweet bread and some home-made jam, and they are both delightful! Waitress was very attentive, but I did feel a bit of a vibe that she probably was expecting us to hassle customers or something. But were also young rambunctious hipstery folk, so we get that a lot. I will definitely make a point to stop here again next time were passing through.
A cute little diner! Love reading all the cute signs on the wall while I wait for my food. Havnt tried anything there I havnt liked. Best food around especially if your craving fried chicken! The staff itself is beyound amazing. All the servers are extremely nice and on top of everything always! 5 stars from me!
We stop in Beckeys for breakfast and what a wonderful surprise they had biscuits and sausage gravy and man o man it was the best Ive had in a while. Everything was hot and we never seen the bottom of our coffee cups ...wait staff was very freindly, Beckeys is our new favorite place.
We came in later about 45 mins until close, I hate doing that, but life is unexpected, the waitress on shift made us feel like we were bothering her and she had people who knew her come in, no biggie, but her company gave us the dirtiest looks, like we were holding them up! The food was good
Worst service ever, 9.00 for just a omelet with no toast or potatoes i just wanted the omelet and i just got a smug look . Asked for hot sauce and the top of the bottle was nasty so were the salt abd pepper shakers. Asked for another drink and was ignored . Piss poor service and i should not of have left a 5 dollar tip over priced and horribile service will never be back wheres the owner on service like this
We arrived before just before 6:00 p.m. and there were 4 or 5 other tables there. We ordered our food shortly after arriving, and at 6:50 p.m., still had not been served. We were told a couple of times that our order would be up shortly. Tables that came in after us were served and were eating as we left without ever receiving our food.
Normally I like this place. today I went there and they quit their all you can eat fish that was disappointing. Then 2 break meals scrambled eggs and bacon was 8 bucks really high considering eggs are less than a dollar a dozen I will not be returning and I used to be a every Friday customer

2022-06-26First time visiting today! What a wonderful little diner. Our breakfast was delicious. Fresh bread toasted perfect. French toast made from fresh bread was very good. Even loved the whip butter and syrup was mildly sweet. Thinly sliced potatoes as your hashbrowns. Bacon had a fresh taste and crispy. Ham slice was not Salty like you may get at a restaurant. Tiny cup of fresh jam with toasts, biscuits or English muffins. Eggs tasted farm fresh. Purchased a Coconut Pie and a Peanut Butter pie to go. Coconut pie is so yummy!Friendly staff. Your wait may be extended during peak times and yes, depending on how busy they are, your food may take some time but you will not regret it. If in the area again, we plan to go back. Would love to try lunch and dinner items.

2022-04-24Cute little spot along 223. Great looking baked goods as you enter. Quick breakfast specials. Sausage and gravy was good, and the loaded omelette had tons of veggies.

2022-03-22Service was good. Fried green tomatoes were really greasy and fried chicken is too salty but tasted ok. Clean and friendly.

Half a loaf of homemade bread come with each. We chose blueberry zucchini, wow, delicious!!! Our waitress was so very friendly and the food came out super fast. 2021-09-26My husband and I are big fans! This is our third visit only because we dont get to go out to eat much 😂The Bluegill dinner, if its in season, is absolutely phenomenal. Its something my husband thinks and talks about a LOT.Myself, Im a huge fried chicken fan and they do NOT disappoint. Its so hot, juicy and crispy and just the right amount of salty. The wings are even thick and perfect. And now lets talk about the fried green tomatoes guys, cause no southern meal is complete without them. Whatever the sauce is that they have for them is KILLER.And if you get a choice of bread with your meal, the warm white chocolate Raspberry is the bomb.Dont forget a slice of pie on your way out though. ❤️

2022-06-19My biking buddy and I are always on the lookout for a good breakfast stop on a long bike ride. This restaurant was recommended to him, so it was our mid-ride destination today.First impression was good — very cute interior and wonderfully friendly staff. The array of fresh baked goods — pies, quick breads, muffins, etc. were a feast for the eyes, and the smells coming from the kitchen made our mouths water. We were seated promptly and in no time had placed our order. When the food came, all I could say was, “Oh. My. Gosh!” There was SO MUCH FOOD! I ordered the French toast breakfast — eggs, French toast, and choice of breakfast meat. I was served two HUGE pieces of French toast and three massive sausage patties, along with two scrambled eggs. The order came on TWO plates! My friend ordered the Two egg breakfast — two eggs, potatoes, choice of breakfast meat, and two full slices of toast. His order also arrived on two plates! We feasted on these delicious breakfasts and stuffed ourselves.Best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. We will definitely be back! I’m looking forward to trying the fried chicken and homemade pies over lunch soon!

2022-03-26People where line up to get into the restaurant. Now I know why, great food & service. The decor was like going back time at a hillbilly food stop. Loved everything, and you will too! Come and get in the food line and find out yourselfers.😋

2022-04-27Good food but pricey as hell. Good size portion but not enough to justify the prices. But you do you boo. Cute country cafe.

2022-05-07Im from Monroe, an hour away. This is an amazing place. The food is one of a kind first class homemade with attention to being served hot, fresh, and plentiful.
