Best Buy in other cities:
Great experience this morning. First visit wasnt the best, today changed that. I came in looking for a gaming console that has been hard to find and an Alexa home. I was helped by a manager, I believe his name was Mark, he answered my questions and gave honest feedback on the product. I was able to get everything I was looking for quickly.Checkout gentleman was new, could use more training, but wasnt that bad. One associate had said the consoles were sold out yesterday but werent.Recommend this store still, just run your questions through a manger.
THEIR SCHEDULING SYSTEM IS TRASH! MY APPOINTMENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED SEVERAL TIMES. At this point I rather shop with a home improvement store then to give them any more of my money and time. I rather buy any products I need directly from the company then to use them. Each time they have rescheduled my appointment it has been weeks later just for them to call me and rescheduled the appointment. What a waste of my time and I have been taking days off work just for this. This service is terrible!
The set up service was just awful. After three visits and multiple, very frustrating phone calls with customer service reps (who dont really speak English), my washer is STILL leaking. I specifically said I needed the repair service THREE times and THREE times they sent out delivery people. Even the last delivery person to show up (who was a subcontractor) said that Best Buy is ridiculously irresponsible about set up. With 8-hour delivery windows (where you have to hang around the house all day), this is just insane. I just refuse to deal with them anymore. Ill have (and pay for) my handyperson fix the issue.
Dont use a credit card or debit card to purchase anything from BEST BUY. Because, if you need to return something it will take 10 to 14 business days before you get a refund. The customer service rep at the store, told me the money would be put back on my card the same day, as the return. It was not. I tried to call the store, but all I got was an 800 #. It was not for the store I shopped at. I asked to speak with the manager they said the manager would call me back within 24 hours after he was notified. I asked for the phone number for the store. The rep on the 800 line said she couldnt give out the local store number. The rep on the phone said, the customer service rep. gave me the wrong information. This is the Okemos store. Im only giving them 1 star because I cant post this unless you hit a star.
In this store, not being on commission absolutely shows. There are no motivation for workers to help or sell. I am an ex phone/plan sale representative and I know all about phones, plans and how they work. Went there to ask about current deals and phones, and asked about the best plan and deal for a specific phone. They said which carrier, and I said I dont mind any, meaning give me the best deal regardless of the carrier. They said its too broad like saying what is the best car and they cannot say from top of their head. At this moment, I knew they probably either have hit their sale quota, or do not feel like selling. I just said sorry for taking your time and left.
Helpful, friendly, and huge! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted. Then, before I even started wandering aimlessly, another employee asked if they could help me find something. They pointed me in the right direction and when I got to that area, another employee asked how they could help me. They directed me to the exact product I was looking for. To be fair, the store was really slow at the time, so I wouldnt expect this level of service all the time, but all the employees were very kind and helpful!
We had great service with a very knowledgeable sales rep. He answered all of our questions about the product we were interested in. Even gave us some new information that we didnt know about it. We are happy with our purchase and will continue to shop here in the future.
Price match feature in bestbuy is awesome. However This particular store I wont be returning to. Staffs here can be little more helpful. Not that 50+lbs fridge is super heavy for single adult to lift, but I believe refusing customers request on lifting heavy appliances can be a liability issue. When I asked one of staff member at the appliance section if he could lift one of mini fridge(bigger one with freezer) to cart to avoid unnecessary risk, guy simply said he was too busy - standing around at the counter - and told me where I could get a cart big enough for it. If store was busy I would have understand, but the store was not busy at all, and I was only one at the appliance section. I did manage to lift it and put it on my truck bed, but the experience just left a bad taste in my mouth. I believe asking in-store staff for help is appropriate thing to do as customer, and these guys brushed it off like I was not supposed to ask for it. I have bought most of my electronics from this store for the convenience of it and the price match, but for the next electronics I need I will be going out of my way to Best buy in the west side of Lansing since staffs are much more helpful over there.
Went in to buy a smart watch, walked around for a bit looking at other stuff then went back to the watches. We stood at the watch we wanted to get, meanwhile 3 employees (in picture) never once asked us if we needed anything. Terrible service, I will not return to this location, if any ever again! With amazon and many other online merchants, best buy will soon be a thing of the past anyways.
Recently purchased a laptop in Okemos, MI.. Liam was my service rep. He was patient, listened to my needs and offered me several options that were in my price range. I had a general idea as to what I was looking for and he guided me to my final decision. There was no high pressure sales. He was knowledgeable, professional and an exemplary Best Buy representative. It was an excellent shopping experience.
Elena, mobile department member, was instrumental in assisting my mom upgrade from an outdated, 16 years old, cell phone to one of the latest models:) Brandon, mobile sales manager, is super knowledgeable of mobile options and provided enough information so that my mom could make a more informed choice on the best cell phone for her. Thank you both for helping in the transition to the latest mobile technology. 😁😆😄
Great customer support! Went over to pick up an online order. Provided phone number and some basic info and they found my order (I didnt have to dig through emails or texts - they just figured it out). They asked me to pull my vehicle up to the door and they brought it out and loaded it for me. Super great especially since it was a washer and dryer. Thank you!
10 STARS. Tylor from geek squad rocks. Walked in told him my problem. His confidence in fixing my problem has made me a bestbuy customer for life. Fixed my phone in 10 min. Also showed me what to get so it doesnt happen again. Thank you. You can buy a phone almost anywhere. When your $1000+ phone brakes and you walk into the corporate store your not going to get the same after sale service like Best Buys geek squad.
I came here to purchase a laptop for my college Cyber Security classes, and Best Buy was there to help! I already knew the specs of what I wanted, but they helped me narrow my options down really quickly. But, whether youre coming in with something already in mind, or youre still not sure what it is you need, Best Buys friendly staff is super friendly and knowledgeable!
Terrible delivery experience. I purchased a gas stove from Best Buy that was scheduled to be delivered today. The only thing that I asked of BB was that when the delivery driver gets here, Id like them to move a fridge from the kitchen to the basement and one from the basement to the kitchen (new stove matches basement fridge). The salesperson I was dealing with spoke with a manager to confirm they could do that for me. They even put on the receipt 2 appliance relocates. The delivery driver called yesterday to confirm the appointment and left a message on my home phone. I tried to call him back, but received his voicemail. His voicemail requested that I text or leave a VM, so I figured he prefers text. I texted the delivery driver to reiterate the scope of work and that we are planning on seeing him. The next day (today) I removed the hand rails from the stairs, shut off water to the entire house, and emptied the contents out of 2 fridges. When the driver gets here he informed me that he had discussed it with his manager and they dont relocate existing appliances.I really wish that I knew that before I waited a week for delivery, donated my old stove, made sure to have as few groceries in the fridge as possible, removed the handrails, emptied contents and shut off water. I went into the store to speak with a manager and they all sounded surprised that they wouldnt relocate the appliances.
Great service I have bought two tvs from them, apple products, fridge, games, sound system, they are amazing help me load it up everytime in the car, try to help me get deals/sales, great with all my questions/requirements I need for when I buy products one of the best stores I’ve been in from best buy
Ordered a stove September 16. Salesperson said it would be delivered September 30. On the 30 called and said it would be October 1. October 1 called and said it would be here October 23. I went back to the store and talked to manager Aaron. He said the stove was in the warehouse but they were having delivery problems. He said he’d get the stove to the store then he could expedite the delivery. The store just called and said they had the stove and it would be delivered the 27th. I guess I should’ve let the warehouse deliver it the 23rd.
Ive never had a bad experience at this location. They have had better prices or price matched without hesitation. 14 day return policy is a bit short, however I have not had any problems returning a few defective items. Its going to happen. Life is not a perfect thing...... Update 12/17/21... Stopped in to look for an item, store is pretty well stocked.
Best buy has become a joke. They no longer fulfill their pre orders or even give a time-frame on when they will fulfill it. Their call system is a inefficient unknowledgeable joke. It takes half a week for them to respond to anything on messenger. Its a waste of time and money to go through best buy for anything.
One of the best camera sections Ive seen in Best Buys in the area. Knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly staff. Those folks really know their stuff, Ive gone in not knowing what Ive been looking for and theyve helped find the right fit every time. Decent sized store as well, standard Best Buy as far as I can tell beyond the camera stuff.
Needed a tv wall mount & a replacement DVD player. The salesperson was very helpful -- he didnt just show me most the most deluxe models and he clearly explained the differences. Then he carried the heavy wall mount to the checkout and out to the curb. Also, and equally important these days, the store was well-stocked.
I normally do not purchase from Best Buy, but I have recently ordered a couple TVs and other things through them and have found the experience to be better than expected. I feel that their customer service has improved over the past couple years. They have moved the return center and curbside pickup to the front of the store and it makes it a lot easier. They still have a person at the very front of the building which is different than at most places, but it does deter theft. I recommend Best Buy in Okemos.
Store is pretty decent and so are the prices but some of the employees dont know how to take care of things in certain areas. I asked about my phone plan that I had bought the day before and they said they werent firmiliar with that info and told me to look up how to set up my next plan. A little unprofessional but he looked like a stoner so it was chill, lovely place. 🌿🚬
Stopped in to Best Buy to upgrade a couple of phones. The staff was friendly and polite and were more than helpful. They advised of deals that were happening to get us the best pricing possible. All that being said it was a relatively painless procedure and I snagged a Samsumg Galaxy s20+ for almost half off. This Best Buy has always been good to me when Ive visited the store.
A little confusing to be honest. I went in there confident in what I wanted to purchase and got talked into something completely different and not what I needed at all -- but of course cannot know that until one gets home. customer service, on the other hand, was amazing. checkout experience was totally different than the shopping experience.
Theres nothing like a hands on experience when you are considering the purchase of a cellphone, tablet or computer. The staff are courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Unlike some online retailers, the companys return policy is quite liberal and the prices reasonably competitive.
The tech team at this Best Buy location were super helpful and polite. My mom and I went there a few months back to see the Geek Squad to repair her computer. They did a fantastic job on it and sorted out the issue right away. They also helped me pick out a new laptop and I am very happy with it. It has all the features that I need and it was a great price on top of that. 5 stars to the Squad!
Great experience buying a microwave on Black Friday, curbside. Normally Id avoid Best Buy like the plague (pun intended) but our microwave broke that morning and we had to warm up Thanksgiving leftovers. Picking up curbside was the perfect answer - instant (almost) gratification and they brought it right to the car and popped it in the trunk.
Ive been in to this location a few times for electronics help, and the Geek Squad staff here has been wonderful to me! Theres a gentleman named James there who is really awesome! Hes been one of the nicest, most helpful, and most importantly, honest people Ive worked with. Hes assisted me multiple times with issues with my cell phone, and has always help me come up with an inexpensive solution. James is a real asset to the Geek Squad at this location! Keep up the great service!
Best buy has some of the best costumer service Ive ever dealt with in a retail store. Everyone is always eager to help and theyre typically really cool about things like price-matching, etc. That being said, certain items which are exactly the same product can have different model numbers and they wont price match. I have also run into a few times where they didnt have the accessory I was looking for in store even though they have the product that the accessory is used with. Overall, service is always great, they typically have a nice selection of products, but I wish they did a better job at stocking accessories for products and I recommend calling or looking online at what you plan to purchase before going into the store in order to get the best experience.
We were greeted right away...left alone to find what I wanted. I told the salesman I wanted the specific refrigerator it was perfect but a bit too high for my budget. I explained my situation and I got the refrigerator I wanted for exactly what I wanted to pay. You absolutely never know until you ask...nicely!
Actually my experience was not good. I went in there looking to order two new phones. There was two gentlemen working the counter in the cell phone section. They were busy I understand that. I stood there for 30 minutes not one person acknowledged I was there. I will not be back. Thanks Best buy.
Typically I’m a pretty understanding person when it comes to mistakes, but in this instance I was very dissatisfied. I went to this Best Buy location to buy a camera lens only to find out that the lens was used and had some scratches and fingerprints. When buying this lens I was under the impression it was new. There were no box marking to suggest otherwise. I returned the next day and I asked how they were able to sell returned items especially ones with damage, without marking the item. They responded buy saying when a customer makes a return they don’t know. This was a bad answer. When items are returned they should be inspected and repriced accordingly. After meeting with the return desk people I went to get a new lens. I was met by the same employee who had sold me the lens the day before. He said “what brings you back?” I respond by saying the lens was used and he says back with some attitude “I can guarantee it wasn’t”I have nothing to gain from returning this lens I just got it the night before and needed a new one.
First thought for electronic info and service is best buy in Meridian twp.Gentlemen who assisted me went above and beyond. Thank you for your patience, courtesy and info in setting up my electronic devices!I appreciate that. And thank you best buy for your attention to instilling respect, quality customer service skills and attention to detail in your staff. Makes stopping in ...Time Well Spent!!😊
Poor customer service overall, something was on the incorrect shelf indicating a different price and instead of being met with assistance I was talked down to by the cashier. Purchased what I needed from Amazon in the parking lot following this experience, will not be shopping here again :)
This Best Buy is one of the best Ive been to. Its huge, has enthusiast products and super helpful staff. Id much rather go to this one rather than my local one but its about 45 minutes away which makes it less than ideal. Best buy has really improved over the years with prices and price matching that if Im going to buy something Im more likely to go there to have that instant gratification
Fred at Best Buy in Okemos was so helpful! My friend and I went in looking for a laptop charger for her prehistoric laptop. Although they did not have what we were looking for, Fred was able to find her what she needed elsewhere and that to me is the best customer service!
The only reason I am giving this 3 stars instead of 1, is because it is best buy. I have been to several locations and it has always been a great experience. That being said, I have been to this location twice, and both times I had pushy salesman who are only trying to sell you the most expensive thing they have. The first time, i was looking into buying phones. The man that helped me was only trying to push me to buy a phone that doesnt have good ratings, and is the most expensive phone they have while also talking down to me like I didnt already do research on what I was buying and like I didnt know anything about mechanics of phones. The second time was yesterday, where I went in to purchase a replacement laptop charger. He took us straight over to the chargers, picked out the only $80 charger, and told me I needed that one. Which, it is compatible with my laptop, however it was the fanciest one they had and when I expressed that $80 for a 5 year old laptop charger was pretty steep, he pulled over another worker and asked if it was compatible. The other guy said yes. Neither of them addressed that it was the most expensive one or gave me more options. They didnt ask if I needed anything else or help with anything and have poor customer service in general. After leaving the store, I found the exact charger I needed on amazon for $20, sold by the manufacturer. So, always do your research folks, and dont trust the workers that are being overly confident and pushy. And honestly, just go to a complete different Best Buy than this one.
I must say that I was very surprised to see all of the positive reviews of this place after my own experience there. With two kids in hand, the drop-off process for my battery replacement took almost forty minutes on a Sunday, from 3:20-3:56 PM. This was primarily because the Geek Squad member helping me was completely disinterested in what he was doing and had to ask me three times for my phone number and twice for all of my other contact information. At first, the Geek Squad member told me that it would take two hours from the start of our appointment to complete the replacement. I said ok. After our nearly forty minute struggle with data entry that could have been done in one minute over email or an online portal beforehand (he wouldnt even let me walk around the store with my kids and come back), he told me that it would be two hours from the end of our appointment. The funny thing is that the store closes at 6 PM. Not knowing this at the time, I asked him if I should call ahead or just come back at 6 PM (roughly two hours into the future). He told me the latter. At my wifes suggestion, I did call ahead and was beside myself when I learned that I would have to miss work the following day to go in and collect my phone (I made my appointment on Sunday for a reason and got confirmation over the phone that it would be same-day service). When I went to collect my phone this morning, I immediately went to the manager and explained what happened to him. Rather than assuring me that he would instruct his employees to, in the future, avoid telling customers to come get their stuff after hours and offering me compensation for my lost work time, he blamed me for not reading the fine print (no guarantee of same day-service for a 3:20 PM appointment, despite what I was told over the phone) and knowing his stores COVID hours. I was too stunned to get angry. When he saw my disbelief, the manager reluctantly apologized and suggested that I pick up my phone. I left the store without another word from him. Amusingly, when I got back home, I saw that Best Buy left an automated voicemail on the phone instructing me to come for pickup at 5:45 PM the day before! Maybe the geniuses on the Geek Squad should consider contacting people without phones some other way, such as over email (which they definitely had on file, because I definitely received SPAM from Best Buy a few hours after my appointment). Needless to say, I wont be going back to Best Buy if I can possibly avoid it and will have a chuckle in a couple of years when Amazon sells them for scrap and the doofuses I interacted with find themselves out of a job.
Waited for 10 minutes to try and talk to someone about a new phone and no one even aknowledged me. Even if you are busy its good practice to at least say hi to your waiting customers and let them know someone will be with them as soon as they are available. I saw 2 floor managers walking around that never even acknowledged either. The only one who said anything to me was the the guy at the front door as I was leaving. Was already upset that I couldnt get the phone I wanted at the last store I was at. And now best buy couldnt even give me the time of day.
This is truly the most helpful Best Buy Ive ever been to (I dont frequent them a lot so they could all be this nice). The selfless employees go out of their way to make sure that you find whatever youre looking for, and theyre all quite friendly/dont mind taking the time to make sure youre having a satisfactory customer experience.
I went to exchange a pair of Sony wireless headphones I got for Christmas from my sister. I didn’t have a receipt. The clerk told me he needed her phone number to look up her account. I didn’t have my cell phone so I went home to get it. I returned half hour later. I told him I didn’t want any money, maybe in store credit to purchase something else. He looked up her account and couldn’t find the purchase. He wouldn’t let me exchange or return the item. I left very angry. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a problem returning something to Best Buy. They have a horrible return policy and customer service. I’m never spending one penny at Best Buy ever again! They suck and I can’t wait for them to close. Buyers beware
A Blue Shirt associate tried to activate a new phone for me on a new plan on Verizon. My phone was stuck on the activate your phone screen of setup and they said it would take 30 minutes to day to activate. Now after wasting an entire weekend on the phone with Verizon and Best Buy it turns out they entered in an activation start date FIVE DAYS into to future from when I picked it up. So not only do I not have service, but I am also unable to do anything (even check the time) on my phone until that date. Do NOT let them set up your phones for you, the process should be pretty easy and straightforward to do on your own.
Good service, but not pushy. There selection of tech devices is great. They will price match with many online retailers too, so you can get your product now and take it home. I am a big Amazon user as well, but the Best Buy rewards program makes it a better deal to buy local.
This store does not answer thier phones in store when you call to inquire about anything! I purchased a TV today and there was no cord or manual for it so I tried to call and I talked to the recording and then it put me on hold for 30 minutes! I still have yet to talk to a person!
We had a few questions about routers but could not find anyone that would help us. We waited for a while before finally someone even approached us and asked if we needed help.I understand that routers are not as sexy as cell phones or laptops but we deserve help too.Once we finally did get help, they tried to upsell us on a router after we had already said that we were not interested in other models.
Best Buy the service is of exceptional quality as are the product, pricey yes, but consistent other outlets and will price match . For the money you get what you pay for! Been shopping there for over ten years and never been disappointed. The other day i purchased a camera lens and got home after playing around with it i discovered an alternate lens would have been more practical. I email the sales rep and she told me to bring it back and they would waive the 15% open package fee because they appreciate my business. Its this type of customer appreciation that keeps me coming back.
Went into this Best Buy with a friend of mine, mostly with the intent to browse for parts for a new gaming PC build. While they did stock a few things, I was a little disappointed to not see much in the line of parts I was looking for. A rather small issue; after all, theres always Micro Center in Detroit. A further drive, but I know Id find what I want there. However, the real issue I found with this trip, was that during my visit, I dont remember a single employee stopping to greet us, or asking if we needed help. We had to have been in the store for at least a half hour, and I dont recall anyone other than the door man saying hello.I did notice several staff in the store, and at least three in the section of the store I was in, but, again, didnt get much interaction. I understand that staff get busy, but I feel as though I, and my friend, were just a bit neglected.
This was my first purchase at a brick and mortar Best Buy in several years. Employees were helpful and friendly without being pushy or overbearing. The sale price of the laptop we purchased was as good of a deal as we could get online. Non-sale items are still overpriced. Will consider BB for our next major purchase.
I bought two laptops both defective. People are nice, but logic slightly lacking. I called first before I went to the store and was under the impression the had more of this laptop in stock so I could exchange. They didnt and I ended up driving to Okemos who had one, but the rep literally told me to wait to get service while he finished an unnecessary conversation about another upset customer whos concern had already been addressed. Not the best experience. Lets just hope this 3rd laptop works
Great store, friendly employees. More than willing to price match if you find an item cheaper on Amazon. Would be five stars but its impossible to navigate the store without being relentlessly bombarded by employees asking if they can help. I understand that service drives sales, but its unnecessary to be stopped by a different employee (or worse yet, the same one you told two aisles ago you were just looking) every ten steps you take in this place.Bonus game: decide on an item beforehand and try to navigate through the store in a way that allows you to not be stopped by anybody asking if you need help with anything. You wont be able to, but bragging rights are yours if you do.
Best buy knows how to get you to spend money and not feel bad doing it. Very quick service, and everyone seems to know everything. Even after I told a salesperson I was NOT buying a camera lens, he was still excited just to talk about cameras and photography. Also price match is great.
Excellent customer service in the camera & tablet area. Dalton was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Their prices are kinda high but they price matched plus gave me a $761 discount on the camera package and gear. Absolutely love what I purchased and Dalton spent hours helping me get what I needed and taught me how to use it properly. You cant get this kind of service online, it is totally worth buying where you can get a person who is an expert to help make your decision.
Great customer service experience as always. The new remodel is worth a visit even if thats all you come in to do. (Check it out!) Went in for a pair of headphones and was surprised to get some helpful advice on the pair I wanted, no upsell. No real pressure to buy the protection plan either.
Personally I dont necessarily blame the company, but society for the downsizing of products and selection. I use to love going when there was a massive selection of a ton of products. They do their best to change and keep up with technology. Hard to beat online shopping in this day and age. I still like to physically see the product. I wish best buy would limit the amount of staff that walk around the store and ask me if I need help. I appreciate customer service however I believe it is overkill going in there and not even halfway through the store and have five team members ask me if I need help. It wont stop me from going just a observation.
I came in needing a replacement laptop. My salesman, Nick, was so helpful. I was new to touch screen and Windows 8 laptops. He was helpful and reassuring about my lack of experience with laptops. The repair clerk that helped me was also informative and helpful. Even though the price to repair my old laptop was high, the customer service was still excellent.Do not blame the store for corporate pricing, that is a mistake that no reviewer should make. The repair prices are high, so I recommend going to a local repair shop if you have the option. Their prices on laptops are the same or lower than the manufacturing price, which is great.Keep up the great customer service!
I have made 2 trips in recently, the 4 starts reflects a summary of both trips. I purchased a new phone and was very happy with my service, specifically the Samsung rep (Brenden maybe?). The young man was very aware of his products and knew how to answer all of my questions, very thankful for his assistance in helping me find a device I am happy with. The second trip, was not quite as good. The employees didnt have all the answers, but they did try to get them, which was great.
Ordered a washer and dryer to be installed (paid the extra charge for gas line and water hook-up). When the washer was delivered I was not present (my mother stood in for me). The washer had a large dent in it and the agent delivering and installing the washer told my mother that they could replace it or give me 15% off. He said he would send me an email. Ive attempted to contact Best Buy, but I have not heard back about this incident yet. Otherwise, my experience with the sales agents was great.
Spent about 9000. Dollars. 82 inch TV, power supply, high end 4k DVD player, nice stereo, 900 dollars on 2 high end hdmi cables. I had 2 very simple questions. Called the store 4 times. Had to leave a number and they promised to call back each time . Explained this was said to me each time. And 4 months later and still have never heard from them. Its like once the sale was completed they no longer care about customer service.
Could not have had a better experience. I worked with Dave Bara, one of the In-home Advisors. He was beyond excellent. He professionally and politely took all the time I needed to answer every concern and question I posed, and I had A LOT. He educated me on sound systems, quality, cost , technical support and anything else I felt I needed to know prior to making the decision to purchase. There was no rush or pressure. The service in my home as well as in the store by Dave and Bob is what will make me a repeat Best Buy customer. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being outstanding, my rating is easily a 5.
I use to love this place. I got a ton of my electronics here a asus laptop, macbook, and within the last year a gaming computer. Those 3 things alone are well over a few grand. I have also got a lot more such as headset but those are just to name a few. They were always nice and understanding, I guess that is until something does not work anymore. I got a warranty on my gaming computer and because it was damaged they could not do anything about it (even though when I got the warranty they said it covered everything). Very disappointing when even you tell them how much business you have done there they could really care less. They lost a valuable customer after that and I hope that was worth it for them. I would give them a 1 star if it was not for being able to find a lot there. As far as the customer service side goes, do not expect much.
The lady with the red hair . Literally preordered my pS5 on the Sept 17. Followed by that, I received confirmation it was going to be ready Nov 12th. They even had me schedule a pick up time at 6am. When I get there the lady tried to tell me she didn’t know where my game was and come back in couple days. I practically had to beg her to contact somebody to see if they seen my order. Oh yeah. She was visibly irritated for DOING HER JOB!! Eventually the “so called” found my PS5 which wasn’t even sold to me as preorder. They canceled the order and sold it out to me. Close source told me that the employees are holding out on some stocks for their own personal purchase. I question the integrity at this store .
I mostly have good experiences when buying from this location or picking up online orders. Was a little frustrated when I wanted to use a 10% off coupon on an iPad when it didn’t list it as an exclusion on the coupon (listed other specific Apple products but not the iPad) and they refused to honor it. So I just bought it from Costco because it was cheaper.
Lots of selection on a ton of electronics. Staff is really nice. I was ready to buy a laptop but basically it came down to $629 for last years model and the new model is like $678 on Amazon which has the new ryzen 7nm architecture. They said they had no plans to get it :( no sale. If I was in a pinch Id buy from here. But if i can wait 2 days i can get the better bang per dollar from Amazon. Thats too bad. I loved the experience of a showroom a lot.
I recently purchased a drone form this establishment and ran into some shady marketing. I was told by an associate that i was purchasing a product. However when i got my drone home it was a different product . The restocking fee was over 150 dollars and i wasnt getting any compromise from the clerk. Not happy and off best buy for good . Also one women manager was acting like i was attacking her child. and not professional.
The best place to look at stuff you plan to buy somewhere else. I went in knowing I wanted a specific camera. They had it in stock, but the price was $50 higher than Amazon. I asked for a price match, but was refused because the item was being sold by a seller, not Amazon itself. This was a new (not used) product, my free prime shipping applied and I knew returns would be honored as they always are through Amazon. I ordered the camera from the Best Buy parking lot and had it two days later. Is Best Buy the next Sears?
Best Buy alwsys lives up to its reputation. Thoroughly knowlegable staff. We purchased our last two or three high tech TVs at Best Buy because the sales staff did an excellent job helping us select the right TV for our needs. We are very satisfied with with our selections. The same with a high end refrigerator. Installation went very smoothly. We are looking for appliances for a second home. We are equally impressed with the help we received during our most recent shopping trip.
There was very poor coordination and communication between the best by discord and the online best buy order processing department. I almost blew a fuse trying to get those 2 organizations to talk to each other to realize that they had already approved my purchase on my visa card and that there was a pending charge being held on the card. The online people either did not or could not see. I almost lost the benefit of a black Friday significant discount, while these 2 parts of the best buy purchasing system were unable to understand or talk to each other. The product is great, the price was fine, but the customer service I encountered online and also when I went into the local store to try to resolve the snafu really sucked...
I called another best buy in the area who refused to help me but this location offered to help me without hesitation. Our salesperson Scott stuck with us the whole time and made sure everything went over smoothly. The other 5+ employees we came into contact with were also helpful. I cannot say enough good things about my experience today.
Had a wonderful experience when looking for a laptop. I went to the Flint location and got very little assistance. I was still up in the air when I came to Okemos after doing a little more of my own research. I dont remember the name of the Best Buy associate that helped me, but he was WONDERFUL!!! So very knowledgeable and kind. He gave me all of the information I was looking for. I ended up purchasing a laptop and am so impressed with the service he gave. I wish I could remember his name. He was so intelligent.
Not even worth it to give one star.Girl named Ashley working at the Customer service was very unprofessional, did not even greet the customer; ignored even if i was standing right infront of her, which she knew that i was waiting for the customer service; she had such an attitude with the customers, seemed like she did not wanted to work. She even suggested me to buy products from different store if i like their prices better. Never gonna go to this place again and be careful with who you face with when you go to customer service here.
Dont ever call and complain to Best Buy - no matter what store - instead go through thge manufacture if it is under warranty. I had a few issues and now my account is marked, The greatest story ever told. Yes they resolved the issue after 2 months of waiting, but I dont like being labeled a complainer when I was sold a defective product dead on delivery.
I only go to Best Buy as a very last resort. Theyre extremely overpriced. Everything they sell can be found cheaper online or at another store. But if youre in a last-minute pinch sometimes you got to go to has it in stock. Thats what happened today. They do have some better deals online and they do in the store. If you purchase it online and pick it up in the store itll probably be cheaper than just buying it in the store.
Employees and management only care about their metrics and not the consumer. You will be hounded to apply for a credit card, services you dont need and products you dont want. The store makes a percentage off of every credit card approval. Employees will try to get you to apply, even if they know you wont be approved. You will be contacted immediately when you enter, by multiple employees; not because they want to help you, but to see if what youre buying has any influence to their metrics. If you plan on returning an item of value, be prepared to negotiate your way into being able to return it; dont settle for exchanges, this is how they win. If you plan on spending less than $200, be prepared to not receive any help. If you plan on wearing a hoodie into the store, be prepared to be called out over their radios for suspicion of theft. The Asset Protection employee at the front of the store will have a camera on you. 80% of the time, you can find a product cheaper online, through online retailers, other than purchasing it through Best Buy. Never buy any Lenovo products; they get returned the most and typically have poor build quality. Never buy any technical service plans from Geek Squad; they are completely useless and the people behind the counter are no more technically adept than your closest friend. If you plan on shopping during Black Friday, just know youre not sticking it to Best Buy. Best Buy sells their products at cost value, for items they could not sell during the year. Essentially, youre just buying products that werent all that popular. If your shopping and notice you receive poor customer service, note that is reflective in inadequate pay from management; they are prodded to produce numbers, in a commission-like environment, without the commission.Avoid this store and make the extra 5 mile trip to the Lansing store; they dont bother you and their service is superior.
Definitely a 10/10 visit. I came to buy a laptop for college and had a specific budget and they were amazing about helping me find a laptop within my price that was good for my college. As soon as I stepped in the door they assisted me. I went back to the windows section and Wesley Rogers walked me through everything and even got me under my budget. Im definitely coming back.
Drove over an hour to come to this store so I could demo a Nikon Z6. Their staff was excellent and the Nikon specialist allowed me to use a few of my current lenses on his personal Z6. I asked a ton of questions and was met with all the answers. I really appreciated the help and left with a new camera and a bunch of accessories.
Recently purchased some new technology from this place. Customer service was good. I dont like the 50 questions of can I help you? from a bunch of people the second you step foot in a department. However, the guy that ended up helping us was super chill, and answered all of my questions (a lot).
My boyfriend and I come here often and every once in a while make big purchases. Today we visited the store looking to pick up a couple new 4k blu ray movies. We had been in the store for about 10 minutes, browsing and trying to make final decisions (we spend a lot of time going back and forth about movies). Anyway, a very nice gentleman (another customer) comes and asks us how long weve been in the store because he noticed that the security lady at the front of the store has been watching us on camera since we got there. Are you kidding me? Its 2018, and we still have to worry about being profiled at a store we have spent hundreds, maybe thousands of dollars at over the past few years weve lived in the area. Needless to say, we dropped the movies we were planning to purchase and left. The nice gentleman who warned us did the same. We will never spend another dime at this store. And any other young 20-something black customers should consider doing the same. The management at this store can thank the woman who was working security at the front of the store on 4/21/2018 at about 4pm for losing our and hopefully others business.
When I walked into the store the person by the door asked if I needed help finding something. I told her what I was shopping for and she pointed me in the direction. Then she called a floor associate who answered my questions and helped me find the correct battery for my Ring door camera. I then picked up a Hue lightbulb. Including the time it took to pay at the register I was in the store for ten minutes.
I am very appreciative of the staff that helped me and my fiance sort out our Samsung-washer/LG-dryer debacle this weekend. The Samsung representative, Robbie, was fantastic to work with and very knowledgeable. He helped us get the correct, matching appliances and even saved us a bit of money with a bundle deal. After not being informed at the initial BB washing machine purchase that the two brands cant stack together (only to find out upon delivery that we would either have to buy another appliance or return the one we bought and start over), it was great to have somebody that actually knew what they were talking about help and advise us. Thank you Robbie and fellow employees!
Use to love best buy, but their stores arent that great to shop at anymore. Its seems like there is less an less things available in store anymore, and nothing is ever on sale ( at least nothing worth making me want to shop there). There is a reason i maybe shop here once a year now instead of a few times a month like i did in the past.
I miss the music section but otherwise it is a fine store. I have used this store for PC parts, TV cables and video games regularly and have not had any problems with the store, had an issue once with an online order to the store but the staff inside fixed the issue fast.
This isnt always the best place if youre looking for the best deal. You can usually find things for a better price online, but I love coming here nonetheless. Its one of the last good places to try out things in person. A lot of the selection is either too expensive or not good enough, but I feel like I always find what Im looking for in the end. The staff can generally answer most of my questions but wont crowd me when I dont look like I want help. Overall a good place to shop.
So disappointed. Purchased a camera and warranty. Used the camera 5 or 6 times and it no longer works. Was told they would send it in and there is a chance that they will use rebuilt parts to fix it. It will also take three weeks to fix. When I asked to speak to someone I was given the customer service number which was of zero help. I was cautioned about buying from Best Buy before I did and now I wish I had listened.
Horrible customer service. After inquiring about the first product I was looking at, I was told it was out of stock. After inquiring about the second item, I was told it was in stock. After the person could not find the item after wondering around for someone to help him for minutes, I counted how many employees were sitting around doing nothing. Six, yes, six employees doing nothing but standing around. Finally, after ten minutes the first guy helping me just gave up. Told me to go to another store... while those six employees just stood there. You wonder why big box stores are going out of business... Best Buy in Okemos has the perfect equation for that.
Disappointed in their product knowledge. I was in the market for a mesh wifi system. Told them I live in Cambodia and they said it could only work on 110v. Pretty much every electronic device these days works on 110-240v. They didnt bother to even open a box to check. Lost the sale to Costco.
I just dont see a value in this store anymore. The service is poor and when I asked about a particular product the salesman gave me a half ass explanation and directed me towards something that he has at home in as much better and quality in his opinion. So I inquired about another product some speakers and he did the same thing. In the age of Amazon Crutchfield and many more I just dont see the value of Best Buy..
Customer service is usually lacking, not because theyre not there for you but because theyre usually lacking in manners or respect. Prices are far too high. I never feel welcome walking into or out of that store. I constantly feel like Im being watched as if Im going to steal something
Used to advocate for this company; now I will never buy from here again. This store is all about their numbers. I used to love the insurance policies through Geek Squad -- dont trust them; they love to hide behind manufacturer policies in order to not take responsibility for their own mistakes.Their Geek Squad manager was belittling and wanted to make sure that their poor behavior didnt get back to the store front manager. They also didnt want to pay for their own mistakes -- instead, I paid for it.Go buy on Newegg. Youll be happier in the long run.
I thought I would be aimlessly walking around for hours trying to find what I was looking for, but was able to get in and out with the item I wanted in 10 minutes. For a store with so many products, everything is sign labeled and categorized very well. The staff was helpful. I usually hate the trips to the big box stores. This one was A+.
I purchased a lens on April 18th, 2019 for my daughter as a graduation gift as she aspires a career in photography. I spent the $1,100 without blinking an eye because I knew the quality of the product I was buying. When the clerk handed me the lens I noted two-sided tape residue, the fact that there were tears on the box and it appeared to be opened. He assured me that it was not the case and the product was brand new. Upon arriving home, I proceeded to open the box to find the packaging in disarray and no accompanying warranty or papers were in the box as expected. I immediately contacted my attorney for his advice on how to proceed. My family has spent well over $50,000 with the Best Buy organization over the last few years and we will not be supporting you again until the matter is resolved.
There was a lot of empty space at this store, and not much in the way of variety. I was looking for good Bose speakers, but all they had were about 4 different portable Bluetooth ones. There were a lot of clearance items, not sure, but it looked like they were going to be closing or moving soon.
Ben at the Okemos MI store is the best!! After shopping for a replacement TV for my RV, he outshined the other sales personnel that I came in contact with last week. Not only did he stop to see if I had any questions when he saw me (informing me that it wasnt his dept but he had worked in it previously), but he answered my questions, loaded the TV on a cart, took it to the cashier, AND waited until I was finished paying for it to load it into my vehicle. Ben-KUDOS to you! Your customer service skills were superior to your coworkers who actually worked in the TV dept. Keep up the great job! When shopping again at your store, I will be sure to ask for you!
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. Its a bummer they dont sell musical instruments any more or older games, but still sell CDs... They are a good store, offer decent deals if you are not competing with the internet. They have price matching options, and they had the best price for the package i got... especially since the Geek Squad has been so great to me with past purchases, their warranties hold much better than any other place I have shopped for electronics or computer equipment...
I usually shop for laptops when I come in and the employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. However, it is really annoying to be bombarded by employees. I walked to the laptop area and someone was trying to sell me a Best Buy credit card to finance a computer. Then, employees line up to try and sell you something. I understand they are trying to make money, I personally dont like it. Ended up buying a chromebook online from Best Buy (:
So many workers and the store was almost empty. If you dont appear to have a lot of $ you get treated like dirt. Not really given the opportunity to just look w/out being bombarded by employees. My phone rang while talking to an employee n it has a cracked screen and I was told should be trying to buy a new phone....but? I appeared to not be able to afford one. I looked online and bought a Firestick for 10$ cheaper!
Usually Ive had a great experience at this location, helpful staff always friendly. My boyfriend and I purchased an xbox 1s bundle and realized when we got home that there wasnt an access code with the two 3 month xbox live we recieved with the bundle that had an exact sleeve for where they were located. My boyfriend proceeded to give the best buy in okemos a call to see if he could do it over the phone and a woman (I believe it was amanda) answered to let us know that we would need to come into the store on a different day to get it taken care of. So, next day we arrive and my boyfriend was told that he had to pay a fee for it to be redeemed... which no one told us at the store or on the phone. We called back, same woman answered and sounded obviously upset or annoyed, admitted to not knowing that it was a promotional kind of thing but then also said that she was the one who spoke to us the previous day and had an attitude about what she truly said. As far as customer service goes, we are very dissatisfied with the phone call and how it was handled. Its ok not to know something and to admit to being wrong, its something to work with. But to have an attitude and to say you told us something that you did not, is not ok. Long story short, the free 6 month live should be discussed at cash register before purchase, and whoever is answering phone calls should want to help, not argue.
Been here a few times recently. Asked if they could help me with my phone that was acting up. They could not but whatever I guess they just dont do that anymore. I went back to look at laptops and it was kind of bleak. Someone kind of halfway helped but mostly it was a lot of people just standing there. I ultimately will probably opt for a different store, mostly because its just such an uncomfortable customer experience.
Tom hooked it upfirst time in my life robbed with a weapon for iPhone = 500$then i buy a new s21 5g full price (there was a small sale) and 2 month in longboard wheel break meaning a few falls and falls out of pocket! Lost mt hope trails. $$$ rewardanyway TOM i believe? helped me out with a refurb perfectly within budget that had all the top tier features i need for work and wasnt taking a major hit $$$ thank you a+++
Walked in was approached by somebody and computers as we were walking towards the back to see TVs. Found the TV we liked didnt see any on the Shelf near that display. At first he said he didnt have any looked up on the computer to see there was but it was way up on the top shelf of another unit. When I got my receipt it included 30 days of Roku. I asked him to remove that because it always becomes a hassle trying to cancel something after 30 days. Keep an eye on your receipt when purchasing here. He also tried to get me to get a Best Buy credit card stating I get a 10% rebate on all future purchases. Dont need another credit card
Purchased a washer and dryer here. Three deliveries of two items each. All the deliveries were damaged save one appliance. Makes me wonder if they purchase damaged items initially. It is frustrating to have item after item returned due to damage and extend the time that a necessary appliance is in working order in the home. These items have visable damage but what of electronics? Hidden damage could be very expensive and time consuming for replacements and/or repairs. Not much trust in this store at this point.
Thank you, Anthony in computers today. You not only saved me time but also money. Thank you for helping me solve the problem of why my computer wasnt charging, then taking the time to do research to find a replacement part. And thank you to Tylor who explained that me computer didnt need repair. Well done.

2022-05-31Amazing Store! The management here is fantastic. The store is always clean and well stocked.

2022-06-13All in all this isn’t a bad store. I have a love hate relationship with bestbuy. They like to have all the new shiny electronics which is a weak spot for me. I want to take them home so I can play with them. But the staff here are typically nice and have fun. And they’re always wanting to help you. You know 10 feet 30 seconds ;). Meaning if you are within ten feet or 30 seconds you need to be asked the selling questions to place you into the right product. The store is clean and organized.

2022-04-14My order is 3 days overdue...I guess its nice that its near MSU, you can tell its run by student that dont really care very much though. None of the displays are set up. Half the store is in boxes on the floor and the reg staff dont seem to want to help you very badly; especially the guys in the cell phone area. Just find a manager if you need to get something taken care of.

2022-03-06My opinion of Best Buy has been going down as of late. It seems like whenever I go in for something specific they dont have it in stock and you have to order it. Might as well just stay home and get it on Amazon if thats the case. The employees situation is usually one of two extremes. The first being that they wont let you take 2 steps without asking if you need help. The second being you cant find anyone to help you. Wheres the happy medium where Im free to browse without being constantly bothered but I can still get help if I have questions?

2022-06-06I bought a part for a computer, the original sales associate didnt know what a USB to network wire for the surface pro was, it was okay we found it after looking. Unfortunately it wasnt what I need to correct the issue (USB port is dead) and had to return it, had no issues with the return. Was very pleasant to work with.

2022-03-07Decent store, they have pretty good deals on electronics. Staff is pleasant, but when theyre slow the sales people can overwhelm you. They need to broaden their Desktop Gaming area a bit. If youre looking for a decent, inexpensive DSLR (camera), Id go online. Their cameras are really pricey. Overall, its your Go-to for PS/XBox games, components, adapters, Chromebooks, etc. Thumbs-up.

2022-03-11Best Buy...more like worst try, This company has continued to dissappoint me since circuit city went out of business. I highly only recommend using this place as an amazon show room and not purchasing anything from this establishment. The staff are often nowhere to be found, except the annoying cell phone people. Either way recommend just using them as an amazon show room.

2022-02-12Ordered a microwave/convection oven NEW, paid for & waited for delivery, and what finally came was an out-of-the-box model with huge dents in it, too broken to install. Ridiculous follow-up on customer service. Should have gone to Lowes.

2022-06-24Good store. Had a good experience there except for one staff member who was particularly rude to us. Felt very weird with him around.

2022-06-15Great selection and even better customer service. I buy all my electronics from best buy
