Very good customer service during my visit. The fact it was not that busy helps to allow more attentive service. I had the chicken tenders and they are revised from past and were delicious. Highly recommended as the quality of the chicken was very high. While stores seem to be closing over time the quality remains high. Thanks for your visit.

Must have reopened recently. Its a family tradition for us to go after trick or treating. Shockingly excellent. Used to be so slow. Waitress tonight was excellent. Food, delicious. Ordered beef stew. So warming on a cold night. Gonna go back and hope that this is the norm now.
Food was good, had the mushroom swiss burger, our waitress could have been better. Another waitress kept serving us. I did sit there for 2 hours and never got a refill on my water.
I purchased a frontier burger. And it was great with the Big Boy sauce ! Great burger for a first timer ! Forsure will go again !
Wonderful breakfast! The cook sure knew how to make eggs over medium. My egg whites werent runny at all.

Service was excellent. Their burgers are historically tasty, and it did not disappoint me. Their soup and salad bar looked great, though I did not order on this occasion. They did have a promotion for 99 cent strawberry pie, and boy, was it delicious!

My wife and I had lunch at Big Boy today and both the food and service were excellent! We had Brittney as our server and she did an amazing job keeping our coffee cups full and making sure we were well taken care of.
Ive always liked Big Boy restaurants good food for decent price. However today not so great the onion rings were so over fried, almost to the point of being burnt,neither me or my friend could eat them, the slim jim seemed a bit skimpy but tasted good, the service was fine, but please talk to the cook about over frying & temp of oil. The onion rings were taken off bill.

We got there late but staff was welcoming and service was perfect. Food was delicious and just the right temperature for each item. Very upbeat friendly server who gave us excellent service without being intrusive or pushy. The Big Boy seasoning salt adds flavor that you dont get in other places.
I love this food and the best part is they serve breakfast all day long, dine in it take out. Very clean and relaxing place waitresses have all been there for years so they know the menu and how to take care of their customers. Keep up the great work
I didnt think it could get worse, but it did. Waited for an hour for food and then when we did it was cooked to hell. Dirty cups with lipstick, and nasty silverware. The servers are good, but they need to fire everyone in that gross kitchen.
No where near the Big Boy restaurants I remember. The burgers were WAY over cooked!
Was clean and got us right in, Onion rings are not good at all. Chicken was good. Hamburgers and chilli cheese fries were good. Service to get our drinks was very very slow. We had to ask for more pop.
Really liked the breakfast. My bacon was exactly how I like it, crispy! The home fries taste like real potato’s and the egg cooked to order. Also the sour dough toast was point on. Needless to say I ate it all. Coffee was perfect. Thank you guys!

The place was well kept up and social distancing is still in place but you do not need your mask if you are vaccinated. The staff was kind and respectful and the food itself was piping hot and satisfying, I recommend this place to dine in and enjoy a decent meal with friends.
Boneless wings were just chunks of chicken in teriyaki sauce. Fish was undercooked with gooey batter in the middle. Waitress kept forgetting the sauce for Jalapeno poppers...which were not even hot. We gave up and ate them without the dipping sauce. Overall a very disappointing meal.

Waitresses were snotty and rude.. the food was ok not the greatest hash browns were really crispy and the fudge cake was way to chocolatey and looked like they just flopped everything together as fast as they could.. wont be returning to this location
It has been 30 years since I last visited a Big Boy, allot has changed over the years. Basic menu, no frills plate appearence, food was good but high in price.
Biscuits were under cooked but the other food was great good service as well.
Our service was great and the food was cost efficient! We took our whole family out for a reasonable price which always makes me happy!
Need to read menu carefully not clear on endless refill on soup. Not worth the price. Great staff 👍
We had the pretzel bite appetizer, and it was really good. I was surprised that the cheese sauce was cold. Our daughter loved them, though. I had the chicken parm sandwich while hubby had the super big boy. We enjoyed the meal and our waitress was funny.
We have definitely had better experiences at big boy in the past. Sad no one wants to work anymore. They are very fast to throw your food and rush you out.
A place to relax and enjoy good food in a pleasant dining atmosphere.The service was prompt and attentive. From being seated to ordering our meal was brought to the table within twenty-five minutes. The food was hot and delicious.I highly recommend Big Boy as a fine diner for those craving a good meal while on the go. Heck, I might see ya there.Bon Appetit!
Breakfast buffet is back baby! The service was excellent very organized. My only complaint is they need a serious spruce up with the building.

If I could plus one on the stars.It is truly a shame all of the big boy restaurants are closing. While spending an afternoon with my mom and kiddo, we spot a big boy and scream.. SLIM JIM, BROCCOLI SOUP! It has been our thing since I was a little one. And even though covid sucks, they were happy to fill our double orders so we could have some for later too. The staff was a delight and I will be happy to return! Thanks for the vittles!
I forgot our servers name, but we came in less than an hour before close, and our server was great. It really made a great end to my birthday, and really appreciate all the extra things she did for us to make sure I enjoyed our experience.

This place has gone downhill,very limited menu compared to a year or so ago and much dirtier dining room. Dust is so thick on a ledge below the thermostat you can easily write your name in it.
Fried eggs were still runny in the middle. Had to finish cooking them myself at home.
This place is pure nostalgia bomb for me.The service is good and food is always stellar.I have never once, left here unsatisfied or disappointed.Will probably go this coming weekend.The burgers are great, but the turkey bacon club is amazing.
Very clean dining area with a well maintained soup and salad bar brought a great impression. The staff was courteous, helpful. Attentive, and demonstrated care and interest in our visit and food. Food was well prepared and fresh. Definitely a very satisfying experience.
Always a fan of Big Big as they are known to have a great menu selection while also being family and kid friendly. I stopped into this location the other day and was wow’d by the staff and management on how well the restaurant was ran. It started off by walking in the front door and being greeted right away by a friendly face and taken right to our table. Drinks were constantly full and our server was friendly, fast, and knowledgeable. The food was excellent being hot and fresh off the grill. I had the classic slim Jim sandwich, which was one of the best I have ever had. The manager, who was going around and speaking to each table, made her way to mine which I had to tell her what a great team they have and how impressed I am with the quality of food and service.Thank you Big Boy Battle Creek for the great service and great food! My family and I look forward to coming back again soon!
We visit big boy often but had never been to the breakfast buffet. We came with a group of 6 for Mother’s Day and it was great! They were BUSY, like full restaurant with a little bit of a wait busy but it seemed like everything was running smoothly. Drinks were getting refilled, the buffet was hot and stocked and honestly for the price it surpassed my expectations! Also, you got a coupon for a free meal when you came back for Mother’s Day which was super cute ☺️
The food was good and service was great!!!!!!! The only negative was no flavored creamers for my coffee but that wont stop us from coming back the coffee was still really good!!!! We will be back
We came in for the breakfast bar. It took 30 minutes for the waitress to come take our order.. she proceeds to Say she told us to go ahead and eat,(witch is a lie). She got upset and snatched the menu’s saying she didn’t get paid enough for this.. (I was completely polite) giving 2 stars because the manager was very nice and gave us our food for free..

Best Big Boy weve been to in years. Clean, good service, food was fresh and tasted really good. The staff seemed to be all women, including the kitchen staff and they were hopping fast and courteous. Most impressive was how clean things were and the fact that they literally came out from the kitchen and used an instant read thermometer to check the salad bar food- every item. Id let my husband pick this location again.
Very friendly staff with knowledgeable waiters and waiteress. The food was very good. I had the meat loaf and mashed potatoes. My date had the spaghetti and meatballs. I also had a side salad with french dressing. I had coffee to drink. They had plenty of sweeteners at the table, and they brought me a ton of creamer for my coffee. The prices were fairly inexpensive, for the two of us, it was about $17.00 before the tip. I always try to remember to tip at least 15% of the total amount of the check. Very friendly and I will definitely be returning real soon !!!!!
We usually only go for the buffet when we have a hankering. The food is usual buffet quality, but the prices are a bit high. $30+ for two people to eat at a Big Boy buffet plus drinks is probably a bit steep. The service is great however! The servers are attentive and accommodating. They brought out some country gravy for us because there was only sausage gravy on the buffet (were vegetarians). If you want to gorge yourself while emptying your wallet, this is the place.
Excessive waiting for someone to take our order 😡 plenty of employees working. There was only 4 tables seated. Floors were nasty slippery and didn’t smell clean.
Waitress was phenomenal. I have high expectations for anywhere that serves food. Roksane was patient for our table of 2 adults and 4 teens. She kept pops full and any needs were met. She was super sweet and I truly can picture her at a much finer dining establishment. Food was good, as expected for Big Boy.

First off, they were short staffed and probably had a big impact on my experience here but, service was slow, the restaurant was dirty, and the breakfast buffet was $15 which is pricey for the area.
What a great little place! My wife and I are both Michigan natives, but live in Illinois now. We recently stopped here on our way back because we were both craving a little taste of home, and this hit the spot. I orderd the Slim Jim with onion rings and my wife ordered the classic Big Boy burger, both tasted as good we remembered and our server was great to boot! We will be sure to stop by here on our way back home!
Worst ever! Service was horrendous, my daughters salad was never brought, my steak was supposed to be medium rare and it mooed when I tried to cut it. When I sent it back, I could hear the staff discussing my meal, totally unprofessional will NEVER go here again!!!

Pro: Great service and friendly staff. Cons: restaurant in need of renovation. In an empty row of booths Im sat in one with torn vinyl and exposed stuffing. Salad bar brown and mushy. I asked to have it replaced and the staff was more than happy to help, replacing it quickly. General thumbs down. But like I said the staff and service were awesome.
Your french toast with strawberrys is out of this world
Havent been here in a long time. Because of a really bad past experience. This time everything was great. Our waiter was excellent. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Terrible! Dirty, Buffet bar not filled . No silverware, napkins and other food items were not available. Dinning area and Bathroom is extremely need of soap and water . Very slow service and including ourselves there were a total of 8 customers. Plus Big Boy doesnt recognize Seniors for discounts !

We used to eat here a lot; ALL of their food was excellent and their servers were great. Until we had the worst service imaginable. For various reasons, we didnt visit them for about 4 years until today. Between 11:30 and noon. Three active tables, three servers, so that part was fine. However, my food was absolutely flavorless. I ordered a pattymelt, and there were so many onions, just barely warmed through, I had to pull half of them off, plus no sauce, so it was pretty much a grilled cheeseburger. My sons southern omelet had more sausage links than egg, his hashbrowns were only half cooked, biscuits and gravy were inedible. This was a huge disappointment to us. Sad to see this happen.
Had biscuit and gravy. Service and coffee was good. Biscuit was good, light and fluffy. But the gravy wasnt all that good. Used less milk more water and way to much pepper.
Had the Impossible burger. It was amazing. The fries are great. Took a bit of waiting for our table of 4 with less than half a house. will recommend and Will come back.
A short (15) minute wait to be seated on July 4th but the service was friendly and the food quality was as expected. Pancakes and bacon!!
We absolutely LOVE the new update taco bar on Fridays, and the price is unbeatable for all the food you get! Heather was very kind and made sure to make our night out enjoyable.
We stopped there after lunch hours so it wasn’t busy. We ordered chicken fingers with the salad buffet. Salad buffet was just ok as some stuff was a little wilted. The chicken fingers looked like a chicken breast had been cut up into slices then fried. They were so salty tasting that we couldn’t eat them. The accompanying sides were non eventful and we didn’t finish and just paid the bill and got back on the road. I would not stop here ever again. This has turned me off of big boys altogether. The food has really declined.

I have been there on 3 different occasions and each time there were problems with the food. The amount of food you get is comparative to the cost, however, the environment was not very nice. The staff was unkept, I observed a waitress bringing out a large tray with food and she was carrying it on her shoulder, and her hair was laying in the food, I find that to be disgusting, when my son and I received our food (waitress was old and dirty-smelled) it was cold, as a matter of fact, the onion rings that i ordered were still frozen, the burgers came out barely warm. I observed an employee adding hot water to the steam table, and she splashed it all over, with some of it being splashed into the salad bar, she never bothered to wipe up the spill. I will NEVER go back. It may be a good place in the am for breakfast but for lunch and dinner it has never been good. And they can not say that they were busy as there were barely any cars in the parking lot. The manager was filthy, her apron (or whatever) was covered in food, old food.
My wife and I have been weekly lunch go-ers at the Battle Creek Big Boy for about 20 years. Lately, we’ve seen an amazing increase in quality of not only service, but food. We decided to stop in for dinner(which is rare) and were left in awe by how great the night workers were. Upon entrance we were greeted by a smiling face, Kassidy who seemed to be as excited to be there as we were. Our server Lexi did an amazing job of making sure our drinks were filled and that we had everything we needed. We even had the luxury of having the manager, Heather stop by and ask us how we enjoyed our evening, and occasionally tending to us when things got a bit busier. All in all we had a great experience and definitely will be enjoying dinner at Big Boy more often! 10/10
Terrible service. The waitress got our order wrong. A peace of hair was in our oinion rings. Never got a refill on our drinks until i asked when we were leaving. The manager did take the onion rings off of our bill and gave us a raincheck for dessert for the next time. But as we were leaving we heard the people behind talking about the waitress already getting there order wrong as well. We had the same server....oh boy! I thought! I do believe the waitress name was Beatrice or something like that!
Big Boy classic cooked perfectly. All that I expect. Wait staff was very good! Friendly, welcoming and attentive. Great service and with a smile. Had a pop refill just as I was finishing first. Made sure I had everything I needed or wanted.
My husband loves Big Boy and I am hesitant but after a grocery shopping trip to Meijer we stopped for dinner. We were greeted instantly at the door and taken to our table. The server came over and took our order as soon as our menus were shut. We ordered fish and chips. I was beyond impressed with the food. Crispy hot fish fresh french fries...not cold and soggy and the best cole slaw i have ever had. Our server was sweet and thoughtful. We never sat in dirty dishes or had an empty cup of coffee...and the restaurant was busy!!!! A lady whom I assumed to be the manager was walking through the dining area stopping at every table checking on them. I told her my mind had changed about big boy and we would definetely return. I was even impressed by the clean bathrooms especially with the amount of people that were using them. Hat s off to Battle Creek Big Boy. I hate to admit my husband made a good choice. We have since returned for a meal everytime we go to Meijer. I havent had a hot fudge cake since I was a teenager in Detroit and it was just as good as I remembered it. I seldom write comments on businesses but when its an excellent experience I believe it should be recognized. Thanks again for our new dining spot!
They got 1 star because we had a pleasant waitress. We got the breakfast bar. For starters, just about everything was empty. The pans that did have food in them, the food was crusty or burnt. Tasted disgusting and barely could stomach 1 plateful. Then, we got a huge shock when the bill was 40.75. WHAT? Over 13 dollars for THAT? I thought for sure there had been some mistake. Then went up to pay and the gal asked how everything was. I told her that Im sorry but everything was disgusting and definitely overpriced. She went and got a manager who walked up and essentially just stared at me and said nothing. I politely said that the food was terrible and we wouldnt have even thought about getting it for a charge of 13 dollars. Literally the only thing she said after that was, yea we gotta put the price back up on the window. And snatched my money off the counter. Im not one to ask for my bill to be comped but dang, not even an offer? Not even an apology for terrible quality? Well, it took me about 20 years to go back to try it again. Wont be back...
The buffet was not marked on all 4 sides for both the salad bar and the breakfast buffet. The buffet was very under stocked. They would run out of items very quickly. I can only speculate that the manager did not anticipate a large group of people to come in today. The eggs were never replenished one time while I was was there. They were always out of waffles and french toast. The pancakes looked under cooked. The sausage gravy was non existent, I kept having to scrape the bottom of the pan to get enough to cover the eggs. There are 2 other Big Boy Restaurants that I have been to that would make this place look rediculous and they are Petoskey and Wayland Michigan.
Not terribly impressed with this visit. All you can eat salad bar had no lettuce, there was hair in the chicken Alfredo, the onion rings were way overdone and the waitress didnt bring the garlic role with the Alfredo until we were almost done with the meal. It will be a while before I consider going back.
I love there biscuits and gravy.! There strawberry waffles are delicious.

The soup and salad buffet was a bit lacking compared to some I have been to. Especially considering the premium price. Had it been a few bucks less, I could have gone up to 4 stars just on the strength of this cherry dessert they had at the salad bar. I ended up filling up on that and coffee instead of the soup!
Was packed, 2 servers were set up on a 16 top, leaving 2 servers to take care of the whole packed restaurant. My kids were done eating before I even got my food, the server even asked if I was ready for dessert before my food got there. Not the servers fault. But not a pleasant experience. My most recent visit I found a 3/4 inch hair under my omelette. This place is falling apart and could use a face-lift.
I have been to this big big big boy a few times now in Battle Creek. I usually do the buffet because I like to get a little of everything. Their biscuits and gravy are the best and usually theyre bacon and sausage are pretty darn good also and give them for stars just because sometimes I feel their eggs or their fruit variety can be not the greatest tasting I recently had some fruit that was bad. I let the staff know and they said they were going to switch it out and into and thank me for letting them know so hopefully they did I think they do try to keep up with their good food

Great food and friendy people
This place is amazing. The comfort food breakfast was delicious. One worker came over and made sure evrything was okay and asked our names. Her name was Mrs.Debbie and she was so nice and comforting. She made is feel like we knew her all our lives. I fully recremend going here and asking for her. Tell her Tori and Al sent you.
It was okay this time around.I had to ask for a new round of hash browns but the second round turned out good as to be expected
I wish I could give the one star. On my last visit in I decide that would be my very last visit, the managers were yelling at their staff. Cooks were yelling through the window to servers. The floor under my table was disturbing, trash all beneath mine and my families feet. Eventually we got up and moved ourselves to another table. After having this experience I will never return to another big boy again. Please get new management and staff in this place and maybe it’ll turn around.

Waitress was a little slow with plates when we asked for them, it wasnt very busy. One other minor thing, but I cant remember Not complaining but an observation, she was friendly, I tipped her anyway.
Went there for dinner server was very nice and friendly even gave my daughter a stuffed bunny, food was amazing and fast asked for burger to be medium rare and it came out perfect. Great place for take out breakfast and dinner style food as well, is one of my regular choices when looking for lunch when Im craving a omelet :)

My sister and I will not be back to eat here. Waitress left without giving us a bill. We had to tell lady at register what we had to eat. She was rude to us and rude when the free meal stamped ticket was given to her (which shows we had been there over 10 times). She did not apologize for our poor service. We will NOT return!!
Great service & good coffee. Ended up ordering the last chicken fried steak available (my husband had to change his order because they didnt have one for him) thought I was lucky, it was ok... maybe I should have ordered one of their burgers being that the mascot holds one up to the sky LOL next time...My mother-in-law ordered a philly and it was made with raw red onions, thankfully it was easy for her remove them. Their booths are in need of some fixin poor things. Theyre all torn up and ruined from years of being sat on. Maybe will try again next time we come across a Big Boy, just to try the burger and have some coffee and pie. My mother-in-law simply enjoys their pies!
My husband and I went for Sunday breakfast buffet.Just started to eat and a gentleman sneezed 3 times all over the biscuits and other items at the end of the buffet. We immediately stopped eating and went to the register to tell an employee. She called theanager over and we explained the situation. She said sorry and that will be $30.18. We paid but that is the last time Ill eat there!!!!!! All of that food should have been changed out!!! BEWARE!!

Big boy is one of my favorite restaurants but this was horrible! Terrible seating. Brick hard biscuits and gravy. Slow service. Eggs not cooked right. Hash browns soggy. The yogurt was the only good thing.

We Went To Big Boy & I Ordered, The All You Could Eat Spaghetti Special & There Wasnt Hardly A Serving, In The Bowl When The Waitress Brought It! I Wanted Some More, Since I Ordered The All You Could Eat Special & It Seemed Like The Waitress, Wasnt Ever Coming Back To The Table, When We Finally Did Track Her Down, I Got Another Serving Same Size Portion, Ate It, Paid For Our Meal & Havent Went Back!

My family and I travel from Indianapolis twice a year to visit my parents in Battle Creek. I grew up there and have fond memories of what the city used to be. One of the best reminders of the good ol’ days is stopping into their local Big Boy! We always feel so at home when we dine in, and are never disappointed with our orders when ordering out. My wife (a retired restaraunt manager herself) is usually displeased with the service we get when we go out but she LOVES Big Boy’s staff and their hospitality! The managers are so kind and seem to work very well with their employees. Battle Creek Big Boy is always #1 on our destination list when we enter the city! Keep up the great work!-Mike
Server didnt really interract. Came to get drink orders, delivered drinks and took food order, delivered food. Didnt check on table. Didnt see if we needed coffee refill. Just slapped bill on table a half hour later. I was not impressed. The food itself was acceptable but unremarkable.
My family and I just ate here , it was absolutely horrible ! First we get there and the hostess walks right past us and seats the people in line behind us . Then we get seated , and chose to geg the buffet which was pittiful , we got no silverware . The waitress not once asked us did we want refills but was quik to bring thar bill tho . They charge 12.99 for a so called buffet with only a couple items on it . Needless to say we will not be eating there again.

Food absolutely swimming in a pool of grease. To the point of the hash browns were saturated in BROWN oil. Waitress was aloof. Will never be coming back after this. Also, floor entirely unswept, tables had finger smudges. Unempressed.

There is something nostalgic about this place. The food tastes just like it did when I was a kid. The hot fudge cake is still the same delicious treat it was 50 years ago.
The food was very good the restaurant was clean the portions were medium sized just the right amount the waitress was pleasant the only thing I dont like is having to pay for my dinner at the counter it just turns me off from a restaurant it really seems to take away from being served by the waitress
Great prices...portions good... But no flavor in Burger I had...and chicken tenders were dark as in bad oil dark. Which made chicken tough and elastic,.. The breading was to thick....
Seems to have an old fashion setting but not intentional. Very good customer service.

Great food and service. The bathrooms, or at least the mens bathroom, is the only problem with the establishment, it feels like upwards of 90° with thw humidity not helping at all as well. Its the only problem I had though, and it certainly wont keep me from going there and eating again!
So many Big Boys have closed, its nice to see that Battle Creeks is still open! Always good food, some of the items on the salad bar had been sitting a little too long and they were out of my daughters favorite--4 cheese mac n cheese!
Great service. The salad bar is sparse selection-wise, not worth eating as your main course but ok as a add-on to a meal or sandwich. Soups were tasty.

Great spot to get some food. The staff was friendly and helpful the prices are average not to expensive at all. The lunch buffet even included burgers so you could make your own.

Bad service, server never checked on us after we got our food. Worst fries Ive ever had, its like they scrapped the bottom of the bag to get all of the tiny peices and then overcooked them! I had a chicken sandwich which was only ok. My girlfriend went to the bathroom and it was tiny, disgusting, there was blood on the toilet seat!

Pretty good restaurant. On Fridays they serve clam chowder soup and they have awesome clam chowder soup. Ive had Red Lobster clam chowder soup before and their clam chowder is real good but Big Boy is better.
This place needs to be closed down. The food is terrible. Wanted the soup and salad bar but the bar was so nasty, food everywhere, soup slipped everywhere, bar was empty, no soup or nothing on bar, service was bad. I will not return to this big boy. I see why all these have closed. They use to be a great place to eat and food use to be great. They need to close this location.
Fiesta Salad - Grilled Chicken The salad was very nice; however, customers should be advised that the south-of-the-border seasonings are VERY HOT or they should be served on the side with the same cautioning. My dining companion could not eat her salad; I ate part of mine as I buried it under the blue cheese dressing.
Waited 10 min to get seated another half hour for Debbie to wait on us while she talked with ppl she knew. After an hr with no food or anything we left. They werent even busy! Last time well ever come here
Havent been to a Big Boy in over 20 years! Had the classic Big Boy Burger and Onion Rings! What a treat! Sierra our waitress was terrific!

DISGUSTING. The food is pretty much all canned sauces and chili. Soup was way too salty. Burger was dry and as thin as cardboard.Will NOT be returning

2022-04-11My whole 30 years of life and me and my family has never has a bad experience at big boys battle creek. Came for a visit today. Greeted at the door, clean environment, great service, great food. They have the breakfast buffet back on the weekends and a fish buffet on Friday. This is worth every dollar you spend.

2022-03-06They were very busy as it was weekend breakfast buffet. To the lady who was running back and forth being cashier and seating people I applaud your work ethic. I told a few fellow patrons this morning that this wonderful cashier was seating people and that is why I had told her to seat other customers instead of continuing on without letting me pay first. Maam I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, my grandmas blood sugar level had started to drop and she got rather weak, thank you for making sure we got to a seat in such a fast matter.
