Good food at decent prices. They have a fun seasonal menu, last time was strawberry fest with unique choices
Big Boy has really stepped up their game! I was very impressed the other day when we went for lunch. The soup and salad bar was fresh, food came out quick and the waitress was very nice and attentive! Hope they keep up the awesome work!!
Worst visit ever! None of our food was prepared correct. Some had to be sent back 2x to get it recooked, was served rare when ordered well done. Fries were way undercooked. Made waitress aware, she apologized. Night asst. Manager didnt even ask how our meal was, when he checked us out.The waitress, Denise, put the order in correct. This was totally a cook/kitchen issue!
Ive been going to big boy for years but lately the quality of the food has gone way down. I know when we stopped in they were busy this was supposed to be french toast. Really hope they get back to how they once were.
Food was okay, nothing spectacular. Our server wasnt the best either. Small things that mean a lot is having our beverages filled or even asking if we want refills... we had to ask. The server acted like she didnt want to be there. I understand being short handed but this was a different level.I would return if we dont get the same server. And yes we still left a tip because times are tough.
0 for 4 attempts for hot food in less than 1/3 rd full room. One star because zero isnt a choice.

My family decided to go to Big Boy and this was our first mistake. First we waited an hour to get our food. Second my husband didnt enjoy his food and my daughters fish was so greasy she couldnt eat it. Mine and my sons meal was good. I understand they are short staffed but the food should of been better then what it was for the amount of money we spent there.
Lets see, 2:30 on a saturday and they are now just pulling all of the breakfast bar. No soup and salad bar ready. 2:30 on a saturday is lunch time. This place sucks.

There service was terrible. It took for ever to get are dinner. All the servers were in the back talking in stead of severing us. Will not never go back to a big boy again.

This is my favorite big boy in the area! It is so quaint and you have a wonderful river view. The waitresses are always outstanding! Highly recommend the house salad with avacadoe added, and pasta marinara, very affordable!!

Stopped in on a Wednesday evening with family. A great all around experience. Service was super friendly. Food was solid -- I had a tasty burger, my wife had a slim jim, and the kids had waffles/burger/and macaroni and cheese. Smiles all around, and then we shared a shake and hot fudge ice cream cake for dessert. Delicious!
Went in for lunch on a hot day, they provided a great light meal from the buffet bar!

Great service, poor food, buffet dried out chicken overcooked pasta mushy ,watery sides. Floors were dirty with food n silverware n napkins. Not worth the price .

Building is sort of run down. Food was as expected. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. An older lady. I can say I truly enjoyed watching the hostess sit and talk with an elderly lady who was all alone. Way to go. Amazing team you have there.

Server (Denise) was amazing. She was running around trying to keep all the others moving. Food was ok. Others didnt have as positive of experience. Denise gets 5 stars...everything else 2-3 stars at best.
I loved it, the cook Judy in the back is beyond incredible. The food tasted like my grandmother made it an sat me back right in my childhood chair. The waitress Lucy was a sweet cute little thing that managed to get everything exactly how I asked for it. Great experience 10/10
Went on a Saturday night. They were doing their absolute best to comply with COVID rules. They had a skeleton crew and it took a long time to get our food. That’s because there were at their capacity. The manager was everywhere helping out. The waitresses were moving NON-STOP. They were swamped with to go orders.The staff was doing their absolute best and then some.The food was pretty good.
Food took forever!Everything was greasy.... fish, onion rings, French fries, and hush puppies.
Stopped on Wednesday July 21, 2021. We had an excellent breakfast and the price was very reasonable. Cindy was awesome.....she was the only server and needed roller skates. Just heard her tell another customer she came in on her day off! Amazing! She needs an attaboy button from management!Great job Cindy!Chuck and Kathie from Florida..on our way from UP to Kalamazoo!
We were at Aloha State Park for one night and decided to eat out. All the restaurants we called at 7pm were closing for lack of help.We called Big Boys and this charming young man came on the line and took our order and even took our light bantering well! When my husband arrived 2 cooks had walked out. After many apologies my husband thought we wouldnt be eating that night. But to his surprise our food was ready in minutes. He even gave them a 15% tip. There are still good people out there look for them.

Food was all right. Went for breakfast, ordered French toast with sausage, eggs and bacon. Would say it is mostly just your run of the mill stuff made quickly. Prices were very good Ill give them that though

Waitress wasnt around much and food was cold. Most likely had nothing to do with the cook but the waitress bad service. The other waitress there was working her butt off and attending to her customers. Wish ours would of done the same
Terrible. Told 15 mins for a wait and we waited over 30mins. Never got seated. The employees just ate in the kitchen while the front door filled with people. Took 5-10 mins every time a group left to be checked out. At least 3 tables left while we were there and never got seated. Staff seemed new but no one was directing! Hope your experience is better!!

One of the best Big Boy experiences Ive had in a while. The food was cooked to order and presentable - wasnt just thrown together like others have done. What was supposed to be hot, was hot. Wait staff was friendly and fun.
We had a great breakfast for dinner. Was very happy with the food and service. Not many Big Boys around to eat at. If you not eating at one in a long time give them a try. The buffet was closed because CIVID. I had the Western omlate with side of pancakes with butter and syrup.
Although I enjoyed my meal, my friends were disipointed in the food. The food was cold and the sides were as advertised on the menue.

I totally get slow service these days and even the kitchen being slow. But when you get your burger and it looks like it was cooked 3 days before you finally get it I would call this gross. Food was absolutely terrible.
Ordered a Reuben with extra crispy fries. Got a sandwich- corned beef, white cheese and sauerkraut on white bread. No rye bread, no thousand dressing. When I asked she said they were out of rye. Brought me a side of thousand dressing to put it on myself. French fries were actually under done and soggy. Also generally run down walked around a puddle on the floor. Only reason we went was it was right next to our hotel and convenient. Save yourself headache and money and go across the street to Arbys.
The host was really nice and even sanitized the menus before giving them to us. Our waitress was excellent and Im sorry I cant remember her name. This was my first breakfast out since covid began and it was a very good experience. 💙
This place is in need of a serious cleaning. Food was ok
One waitresses spilled water all over the table without even noticing, we waited for over an hour for an omelet, a waffle and mozzarella sticks. After 45 minutes we did get the mozzarella sticks (which were awful) we ended up just leaving
The worst breakfast I have ever had. The cook couldnt make a basic breakfast. Eggs hard when I order over easy, pancakes raw in the center, hashbrowns almost cooked. We waited 45 minutes to get our food, we will never eat there again.

Dont like giving low reviews but they really need to work on the food. My Jalapeño Poppers were cold and they were out of the dipping sauce. If they would have let me know that ahead of time I would have ordered something different. They gave me a thing of ranch when they served them cold inside. The maine corse was not good either, and my husbands salad was just big chunks of veggie.

Good food. Very friendly staff but slow because they dont have enough help. Very crowed because the staff couldnt handle all the people in a timely manner.
Having breakfast here is great! Having a late lunch though... Not so much. Although this was a whole ago, the cooks in the back kitchen were very loud and their topics of conversation could be easily heard and I didnt find it appropriate for a family restaurant. The waitresses are nice and polite though.
Worst experience at a resturaunt EVER. Waited over 40 minutes for food was not at all upset by that but was treated extremely poor by another patron and instead of the staff addressing it they gossiped and added to it. We got our food in boxes and left.

Visiting the folks in northern Michigan for Christmas. Went to Big Boy for dinner. Tried the new skillets. Glad we did!
Had Breakfast Buffet it was good. I do miss the sausage they had none that day. 3/1/22 had dinner had a nice time food was hot good.
Their all meat omelet was delicious. The morning staff was so pleasant and welcoming. I brought my service dog with me. However, when I went back in the afternoon, I was given a problem with my service dog and almost refused to seat me. I explained that I was just there that morning with my service dog. Finally, I was seated. The vibes were so negative, that I got the food to go. The food was Big Boy standard and still delicious.

2022-06-27Ordered the turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy and a side of Mac and cheese and a salad. It looked real good on the menu but not when it came to the table it was a mess. I was trying to find something other than fast food. I wanted to check the buffet it was a NO go. All in all not the best time Ive had at Big Boy. The waitress was wonderful did her job above and beyond . I know $20 is not a lot just hoping for better.

2022-06-26I felt the waitress didnt want to be there. She had no personality. The food at best was just ok. The restaurant looks like it could use a good coat of paint. Would I come back, nope not at all. Only reason we went there was it was handy to our hotel and its been a long time since weve been to a Big Boys. Wish we would have ventured out a bit further.

2022-06-28Was sat outside, barely in the shade. Wife had buffet, i ordered the special. She had 2 plates of food, the people were sat down after us and they ate and left. I still havent gotten my food. The waitress comes back out asking how is everything? I asked for our bill. She asked me if I wanted my food still. I did not, I told her no. She asked if I wanted her to take it off the bill? Yes. Then the manager came out still with no food....

2022-06-19Absolutely the worsed experience we have ever had at any big boy. People that came in after us where served before us. They made or orders wrong, we waited forever for our food. They food was burned,some of it being cold. They said the cooks needed a break. They had a new cook. They ended up just comping our meals. The waitress felt so bad. We did leave her a nice tip as I am sure she was having a very bad day.

2022-04-04Nice interior, clean place. Fish and chips is good there, burgers are fine but more on par with fast food rather than a regular diner. Staff is polite, our servers are always quick and nice.

2021-06-12It was my first time at a big boy and the staff was semi welcoming, I got the big boy burger it was ok my only criticism was it had too much sauce and the side fries were soggy. Other than that I got the hot fudge ice cream cake for dessert it was delicious but was missing the iconic cherry on top other than that the meal was exceptional.

2022-05-26Food was extremely slow my granddaughter didnt get her food until we were leaving. And they did explain when we were leaving that they had a roof leak and thats why they were closing early. Would have helped to know that before we ordered. Wait staff was friendly as always

2022-06-10Dirty lobby, dirty bathrooms, untrained and unmotivated staff. Products were not labeled properly causing me to get 3 different dressings for my salad until I recieved my Ceasar dressing....this was admitted by the server. Ordered the Mac and cheese and it was supposed to come with bacon and tomatoes and had little tiny bits of bacon crumbles and no tomatoes. Wife had a burger that was overcooked and dried out. Definetly do not recommend this big boy. Been to others and they were phenomenal, this one, not so much and wont be back
