This is the worst set up of a store Ive ever seen. Nothing is where it should be. Hair products are all over the place, bedding and other bedroom items are everywhere, the aisles are narrow and the furniture is in the middle of the store so you trip over it, and if someone is coming your way, you have to go around the furniture and its all situated in a haphazard way and you cant get through easily. It used to be an organized store, but now, not at all. And, they arent putting prices on a lot of things, or are there any signs saying what the price is. I went to get a plastic bin and they are all over the store. Same thing, some at the east end and some at the west end and some in the middle! I get a headache shopping there because of the mess its in. And, the cashiers have their backs to the parking lot! If someone were to lose control of their car, those people would be toast. Ive written to corporate a few times, but apparently, they dont care. The store on Plymouth Road is wonderful, easy to get around and organized. The Westland store should be set up like that one.
Friendly and helpful workers. Had everything I wanted and needed in stock. Clean and well lit inside. My only complaint was the parking lot, but I suppose thats not the stores problem. Its the owners of the shopping centers. They should be told they need more or better lighting there, as I was a bit nervous going out there alone at night.
I called with a question and I didn’t even get the entire question out and she was rude and rushing me off the phone.I had to even ask hello are you still there. It would have been the first time ordering and picking up at store but now at least not at Westland store I will continue ordering online. It’s approx 3:30 pm 3/2 and they need a more personable person to answer their phones maybe. Then I was waiting on hold for manager and she left me on hold so long I had to hang up. I was in customer service, she should have followed up when manager didn’t pick up , CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE AND THIS WAS JUST ON THE PHONE, I don’t want to find out how she acts in person.
Seems over priced since the remodel, it looks nice but Im not sure how safe (legal?) what theyre doing is during this pandemic.They have blocked one door off completely with the repositioning of the cash registers, so everyone has to enter and exit through one small door.I do not like that at all.
To the gentleman who Is young n handsome. You know who you are thankyou For the suggestions and courteous ability to try and accomodate by Cking on the items not stocked better luck next tim?. But I wish Items could scan to know if available so much but little stock.. Dream weaver hazards as if waste of times Ur efforts noticably be hopefully next time 👍 ☘️🌄 Great day still thanx
The store is getting very cluttered. And the employees dont seem like they enjoy working there. I had a cashier complaint about her not getting a lunch break but the manager were taking cigarette breaks and it was only 2 workers in the whole store. I couldnt find the item that I went in the store for and there was no one to help.
You can find any and everything for the interior and exterior of your home for reasonable prices. Often had great sales and discount events. If you see something you want, you better get it...its not often they repeat the same itemsdesigners. Customer service has gotten better over the past few years as well as their online options. Frozen foods, can goods, non perishable, body wash/soap detergent, very nice photo selection and decor, clothing is limited however
Just left this location. I’m appalled that one of your a cashiers was so worried about the fact that I didn’t put a mask on my 2 year old, she couldn’t even remember what she had rang up and what she didn’t. And also added on an extra 10 minutes to the line wait time instead of just scanning our stuff so we could be on our way. Obviously she was wearing a mask so she shouldn’t be worried about my children not wearing masks - but that’s beside the point. It’s not in her job description to tell my husband and I how to parent in public. Extremely disappointed. Just because everyone else feeds into the media’s nonsense and fear mongering doesn’t mean we do.
I went here on my lunch break. When I went to check out, there was one line open with about 5 people waiting. A second line opened and a few people moved to the other line. So, after waiting maybe 5 minutes in line, it was my turn. When I got up there the scanner didnt work. The cashier messed with it for probably about 5 minutes trying to fix it. She was extremely apologetic and nice about it. She called her manager over, who even over the speaker seemed very annoyed that she was bothering him. He eventually comes over (probably at least another 5 minute wait), and she tells him whats going on. He treats her like she did something wrong and shouldnt have bothered him. He doesnt even look at me, let alone say anything to me or apologize to me for the inconvenience. Finally, the cashier decides to move me to the other register. But, I still had to wait for everyone in that line to be checked out first. Unfortunately, the person I was behind (who was behind me in line originally) was returning something. The other cashier tried to do the return, but had to call the manager back. At that point, I couldnt wait anymore and had to leave. Very disappointed in this store and this manager.
They have one of a kind food items are cheap but you have to Beware of the sell-by date some of the stuff is outdated and some will be coming dated within a month or two so make sure you check. as for grocery items I get. the same thing at the grocery store with a coupon cheaper but the employees there were super nice. They have quite a selection of furniture if youre just looking for something to use for a few years its great prices are pretty good
I called and spoke to an associate, who checked with another associate, that I could bring an online purchase in for an even exchange for which they would place the order and it would be sent to my house. I confirmed that specifically. I go all the way over to the store, wait in line (while they refuse to enforce the mask order, the cashier I got wasnt even wearing hers), only for the manager to tell me they wouldnt do that for me. He said he was sorry I was told that but there was nothing he could do. Maybe actually train your staff who already look absolutely miserable as it is?
If I was going to pay over $2000 dollars for furniture I would have went to gardner white. The guy is very pushy is signing the contract, and didnt give any information on interest rates while pushing you to sign it. He very high energy and will take advantage of the right people.
Standing in line today waiting like everyone else, while a lady at the front of the line is checking out while having a conversation on her phone. After a minute or so the cashier asks her if she could, and the lady turns to her and says, Ill be with you in a minute. The line is growing and she steps off to the side to have a private conversation very loudly while the rest of us are waiting. After a few more minutes I finally decide to raise my voice to hurry the conversation along and the service manager for the store, I believe thats what she was, tells me, no,no,no I will not have rude customers in my store and she has the right to stand at the front of the line holding everyone else up as long as she wants! Thats the problem with people today, they think they can inconvenience everyone else as long as they want because the world revolves around them? If she wants to talk on her phone and still take care of business thats fine. If she is going to be rude expect to be reprimanded. As far as the service rep lady, boy you were wrong. You lost a long time customer for sticking up for the person that was in the wrong. Just go ask the cashier who was trying to get the lady to pay attention to finishing up her order. And maybe put up signs that say, hang up your phone before you check out as a consideration to other customers who may not have all the time in the world like you do.
Large store. So many things inside. Interesting stuff to look at. I love that they have furniture. I love that they have so much stuff for the home. Im not a huge fan of the snack isle. A lot of the snacks Ive never heard of before. Ive purchased throw pillows and curtains from here. Curtain rods and furniture. From A - Z Ive probably purchased it.
This is my main go to Big Lots. People here are always friendly and helpful. Big Big Lots is what Big Lots is so I guess theres no complaining about what is or is not here. Often can find things that I cant find elsewhere at great prices. Wish they stock some of them all the time.
Absolutely great experience, their was some confusion on a couple of sales that were occurring today, and the manager was extremely helpful and honored one of the items that was not properly ringing up, where most other stores would of told you to bad get lost. Ill definitely be a return customer.
The store was poorly stocked. Their store was also very dimly lit. There were a lot of items that were out of place and you ended up finding them in a totally different department. The employees were not available to assist you and when we did find an employee he told us that we had to search throughout the store in order to find what we were looking for if it was not where it was supposed to be stopped. This was a very poor shopping experience and it is not very likely that I will be returning to this store.
The customer service is horrible & the store is more often than not in shambles. There is never enough check out lanes open, especially on the weekends. It shows that the employees hate their jobs. Go to the Big Lots on Plymouth & Middlebelt for better service, cleaner store & more options.
Always something new to find at Big Lots. Their Christmas decor this year was fabulous. They had multiple aisles of matchy matchy table runners, tree skirts, ornaments, stockings... whether you wanted silver/blue/white, red/green, farmhouse style, or something else. They had a huge selection of the giant candy (Whitmans, Reeces) and regular candy (Ghirardelli, M&Ms). Everyday items include hair care, personal hygiene, socks, and food stuffs (including a 5# bag of gummy bears), dog/cat items toys, bedding, household items, and furniture.
Helpful management. Jerry has helped me last two days to get my furniture I wanted and even discounts offered to me. I will be returning.Only Bad is not enough to look through at the time as far as picture frames, and wall decor but Im sure they will be better times to come.
They have almost everything you need for your home from plates,small appliances,indoor and outdoor furniture, garden supplies curtains, cleaning and cooking supplies and every thing in between ,the stores are well organized, and very clean, the only problem is that they are a bit pricey, I mean more expensive than Macys, Marshall or TJmaxx...really if they lower their prices they would definitely have a lot more business
This is in an area that has a good selection of shopping, and this store keeps up with its neighbors. This store has everything except the larger furniture department, but even the one thats here is very good. I love that there is a blend of the more specialty items (jalapeño ketchup), school supplies, seasonal, household supplies (laundry, storage, etc), as well as furniture. Easy access from Ford Road or Wayne Road.

2022-05-14Our son just moved into his new place and he needed a new couch. We talked with Will in furniture and even though we didn’t find the couch he picked out at that store, Will went above and beyond to find it at another location. We throughly enjoyed taking with him and all the help he gave us. We will definitely come back and shop with them again. Great job 👏!!!

2017-09-28Staff is engaged, hardworking and customer service focused. The store is kept in order even during seasonal rush. Their prices are reasonable and quality is high. I really like the delicacies they feature.

2022-03-06Update: wife still smiling after recent visit. legend says taking the wifey here will extend your marriage by 7 years perhaps longer if you encourage some splurging. Go get em boys. ;) Old review: wife went in and came out with a smile. She bought some furniture. That smile cost me $650. That smile was well worth more than that. Got a sale price in wife smiles. 2022-06-25I love shopping at Big Lots .. today was a bad situation as it was very hard to manipulate through the store as the aisles were full of stock sitting on the floor where customers had a difficult time manvuering to shop .. rearranging the floor plan has been frustrating and no sales person to direct you .. maybe next time I shop there it will be more organized..

2021-11-12Terri was who took care of my check out. She was friendly and genuinely wanted to ensure I found everything that I was looking for. She made sure I had an extra receipt since I had purchased a few gifts. The store was well taken care of with a set up that made it easy to find what I was looking for. I found the store to be clean and well stocked. I look forward to visiting this location again.
