Absolutely wonderful atmosphere. Instructors are the greatest. I love how the entire team treated me like family. Would definetly recommend to anyone wanting to learn jiu jitsu. Young or old there is a place for you to learn here.
Head instructor black belt Brett Sbardella is very knowledgeable and friendly along with his students. As someone that has been training for most his life and has been to several different gyms, I can say blacktie is hands down the gym to pick.

Ive been a member of Black Tie Jiu-Jitsu Clare since its Inception.Im a 60 year old female black belt in jiu-jitsu.I came to Brett Sbardella at least a decade ago with no Jiu-Jitsu experience whatsoever. There arent words to express all that this team has given me.Im able to teach both adults and children, as well as stay active healthy and maintain some really quality relationships.Step out of the box and give this a try today!

2022-08-09I have trained and competed in Martial Arts for most of my life and was still apprehensive to train in a new gym in an art that was outside of my comfort zone. I quickly realized that the apprehension I had was completely unwarranted at Black Tie. I was welcomed with open arms immediately by every member of the team. In the few years since my initial visit, not only have I improved, the team has grown immensely, both in size and dedication of students. I attribute this to Bretts own dedication to the sport and his students, his eagerness to learn and improve himself, and his openness to all students. It is not a group of guys at Black Tie Jiu Jitsu Clare, it is Team.

2022-08-15Awesome jujutsu training! Brett is very knowledgeable and patient with beginners like me! He has a tremendous amount of years and bouts in both MMA and jujitsu so his instruction is realistic and practical. The one hour classes are great cardio - I’ve lost 17 pounds in two months! And the comradeship with other students is second to none! I highly recommend Black Tie Clare to anyone who wants to learn true jujitsu as well as get in top physical condition!

2022-06-17I was only able to attend classes for a few months but every time I walked in I felt welcome and motivated. When I walked out I was always looking forward to the next class I could attend. All you need is to walk in the door one time and you can see the comradery Black Tie has. Wish I could continue to go but I am positive that when I am able to, I will be going back here.

2022-06-17Black Tie is an incredible gym! Brett is a great instructor with attention to detail and patience. Brett and the team welcome everyone from the day-one beginner to the seasoned expert. Beginning jiu jitsu or switching gyms can be a difficult step to take, but the Black Tie crew will make you feel at home the moment you walk into the gym. This is one gym worth checking out, but I guarantee you wont be going anywhere else. Black Tie is the place to be!!!

2022-06-18This is THE PLACE to get high level training in submission grappling aka Brazilian jiu-jitsu! Membership plans are fair and reasonable. There is no reason to put of checking out a free class. I have gotten so much out of training, better fitness, friends, and lots of practice and training. Cannot say enough positive things about this place. Every day I come in is a new opportunity to grow.
