Comment: Pilot light go out and not stay lit they tried tp tell me it was a safety feature that when the heater got to hot it would shut the pilot light out. Wrong it was the generator defective and want letting gas go to the burner.

Comment: In November 2021, Blaine Inc. Heating & Air Conditioning AC1 was contracted to install a new air conditioner unit, new vents, new ducts after a fire had destroyed all of these parts. I asked that an extra duct be put into one of the rooms and I was told that this was not a problem. They installed everything but the vents because they were on backorder and had FORGOT to put in the extra duct and vent into the bedroom. Months later, they came out to adjust the vents and was supposed to install the extra duct and vent in the bedroom and they failed to do so, AGAIN. They came out almost 5 months later to finally install the vents that they had been waiting for and install the vent and duct but when the technicians were done, they had absolutely NO IDEA that they were supposed to install the duct and vent. They spoke with Mrs. Blaine on the phone and she apologized. She said they would adjust the airflow to accommodate the extra room and they would adjust the bill. This airflow out of just one duct in this bedroom is insufficient to what I was wanting and other rooms are suffering because of the dispersment of air. Overall, the project was not constructed according to the original agreement. I paid $19,000 which I believed was more than fair after not receiving a final bill from the owner and a month later I was sent a bill for $1005 more. When the manager, Charmaine, called to collect, I told her that I was not satisfied and she ignored me. I said, fine, Ill pay $50 a month but I am not happy. She told me that they could not accept that amount and I had to pay $100/mo. and she would send me the contract to sign. I did not sign the contract and then they sent me and my husband to a collections agency. I have reluctantly paid the balance of $1005. I did not get what I paid for and what I would like is for them to come out and do what was contracted since I have paid the bill in full or a refund of $1005. They are a company without integrity.

Comment: Blaine used to be a great local business, but something has changed. The customer service has gone downhill rapidly; I heard there are new owners.After an emergency appt during the cold snap, it took 7 weeks to get a part. It was like pulling teeth just to get the diagnostic report for my insurance. The worst part was the lack of communication. I called weekly for updates and the story changed just as often. When the part finally arrived, they didnt honor their appt time nor their estimate. While driving to my house they called and jacked up the price over $450 stating, it was difficult to find the part. My family had already suffered through 7 weeks of space heaters and I didnt want to start over with another company, but I will not be using them again. I do not recommend this company. I checked with the Better Business Bureau but of course theyre not members.

I own a business with a commercial A/C unit and they wrongfully diagnostic unit that would have costed me well over $8,000+.My unit wasn’t turning on or passing air when I turned it on so I gave them a try. Their technician ran a diagnostic and reported that my unit was not passing coolant and was beyond repair. Supposedly a deep cleaning can sometimes work and help turn it over or I have to buy a whole new unit.I ended up getting a second opinion with a different A/C service company and they literally fixed my unit with 30 minutes and had it pushing cool air through my vents. They reported that my coolant was working just fine and it was simply a fuse that was manually pulled from my unit which was odd to his finding. Adding on, he also mentioned that my unit was clean and no cleaning was needed.This makes me extremely wary of the reliability, honesty, and truthfulness of this business.

They double charged us and didn’t honor the agreement for the maintenance program we had agreed upon. They were very rude left three of my units broke down and the parts just sitting on the ground. I would not use them again.

Comment: Someone from Blaines Aire Serv - usually Travis - comes twice a year for HVAC maintenance and cleaning as needed: in the fall for the heating unit and in the spring for the AC unit. I have a dual thermostat system for this two-story house, and a just-barely-large-enough AC that they have kept running like a champ. Whoever comes is always prompt, professional, and genuinely nice. The cost is reasonable, and they do not try to sell me services or equipment I do not need (yet?). I couldnt be happier. Five stars.

Comment: The on call person Elias was rude! We called for emergency service due to a leaky ac unit in our attic leaking out of the ceiling. AHS had authorized me to call my own contractor and submit my receipt for reimbursement. When he called he immediately told my husband he didnt do work for AHS and would only do the work if we paid and got reimbursed later. He wouldnt let my disabled husband even tell him that was exactly our intention before he interrupted my husband yelling at him that he doesnt work with rude customers and to call someone else and hung up. If this is how they speak to their customers, I wouldnt trust them to do any work in my home.

Comment: Elias with Aierserv was able to respond to my call out the same day. He was very communicative and knowledgeable. Keep up the good work!Issue:Saturday, the ac condenser outside is making periodic screeching noise. No loose screws and it appears to be coming from the motor. Cold air still coming out and so I made a mental note to reach out for a repair next weekday.Sunday early AM around 4, the cold air stopped. In my attempt to bandage it through the weekend, I read up on the manual and watched dozens of how-to videos. I cleaned the unit with the garden hose. Took the motor out, and cleared the dirt and rust buildup on the shaft, and in the motor bearing area. Added lubrication and re-assembled everything together. I had high hopes by this point. Sadly the unit simply buzzed - and I suspected that the capacitor might be faulty, which led me to search around the area for a store with some in-stock. No luck. Its just past high-noon. Im melting.In an attempt to be supporting local business and being loyal, I spent many attempts to reach out to the previous HVAC company I used went unanswered. I gave up and decided to give AireServ a call. The dispatcher informed me that the technician will be calling me within 30 mins. Elias called me and informed me that Im patient #5. Thankfully he was pretty speedy and before long, I got the call saying hes on the way.The entire time, Elias carried out his work with pride and still observed the covid precautions - much appreciated for wearing a mask in the 109F weather. He paid attention to the cleanliness of the area and does thing the proper way. Elias listened to my explanation of the symptoms and what I attempted without making me feel silly and quickly checked a few things to reach his own summary. In the end, we needed a motor replacement as the old one gave out.All in all, Im a happy customer and will recommend Aire Serv and Elias to anyone asking. Though if I may add, I helped by cleaning and loosening up the fan blade from the shaft!

They were very professional and happy to answer any of my questions and concerns. Very happy with the installation and my new A/C system.I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good local Central Heat and Air company. He even made recommendations to ensure my A/C will continue to run well, as well as making recommendations for things that could be done to improve energy efficiency. Aire Serv originally installed my A/C unit and they have fixed minor problems with the unit twice under warranty. Overall I have been very pleased with Aire Serv and the quality of their work.

I have started to request him for my service because he is reliable, honest, professional, and very pleasant. A few years ago, another technician came out and I was surprised when he told me my unit was old and needed replacing soon. On a subsequent visit by Elias, I told him what this other guy said and he let me know the other person had been fired, and that my unit was just fine. It’s good to know the company gets rid of dishonest employees and keeps the good ones!

Comment: I just recently hired Aire Serv of Greater Merced to replace my entire HVAC system which was approximately 20 years old. The A/C went out completely. They provided several options to repair or replace the system. Elias Madrigal explained each option in detail and was very patient with all my questions. I elected to replace it completely with a new and more efficient system. It was the hottest part of summer and they hooked us up right away with a temporary A/C while they immediately got the process under way. Each person I have dealt with at Aire Serv, from each of the technicians, to the people in the office were extremely helpful and provided excellent customer service. Even when I called after hours, I was able to speak to a live person and not a recording. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone wanting either routine maintenance or for an emergency situation. The service was outstanding!!

The service men we have had out, Travis and Fermin, are top notch. They fix the problem and take the time to explain what they fixed. They offer service agreements and come out twice a year to service the unit and make sure everything is working well before the hot/ cold season hits. They are available when you need them. They really care about customer service. Over the years we have dealt with many different heat/air conditioning companies in Merced for our home and our rental. There is no comparison! Blaines Aire Serv is way above the rest! If you are looking for a company that is dependable, prompt, knowledgable, polite, reasonable, and top notch, call Blaines Air Serv! I wish I had found them years ago, I would have saved a lot of time, frustration, and money!!!!
