On camping trip--brake caliper seized--called right away and they got us in the next morning--fixed under 2 hours. Fair price and cool manager (Matt)
Absolutely fantastic establishment. If you have tire, brake or exhaust problems this is your place to go. The staff are friendly and its affordable.
Owner joe was a total dick we made an appointment to get my winter tires put on we brought in the tires to be mounted he threw a fit because we didnt buy them through him! He canceled our appointment on the spot and told us to go elsewhere and that he didnt need our money! Horrible customer service and a complete dick from the time we walked in until we left!
I tried to let them make it right this morning, but finally just got the original work done. I called Friday evening, he said he could get me in at 8a Sat, when I arrived I was asked to either wait 1.5hrs or come back, I was a little disappointed I didnt get a phone call to save me the trip, but changed my day around to try to be accommodating. I show back up at 930a, still not ready, I end up waiting around half hour before they get me in. No test drive, no estimate, no agree to do the work. Had the part delivered, and put it on, didnt talk to me about it. Then tries to sell me tires as Im leaving, told him I didnt need the price right now and he proceeded to chat in phone for a few minutes even though I told him it didnt matter, and the place he called didnt have the tire I was inquiring about. He then checks me out, without test driving vehicle, 3.5 hours after my appointment, I was late for work paid and left. Before I even got through town I called back, said it is making a noise, he said I probably forgot to do something, its probably fine, can I schedule you for Monday. Couldnt drive my car all weekend because of the loud noise. After inspecting the charges, I realized I was also charged 320$ for an 150$ part. So I come in early Monday, for the third time, and he fixes the noise, but didnt price check around, and he paid to much for the part, so he passed that on to me. So the same exact procedure on had done on the other wheel ayr ago that took less than an hr, and only cost me 200$ cost me 450$ at Boyne City Tire & Brake and 3 tripsto the garage. When I made Matt aware of this, his solution was to offer to fix my tie rod, not for free, not for discount, just to give him another chance.
We had a tire blow out on our RV while vacationing in the area from VA. Found out we dont have roadside assistance. :( We called Boyne City Tire and they came right out with a tire for us. Thank you so much!!
Joe helped professionally repaired my nail flattened tire. The price was great and the fishtank kept my son occupied.

Came in on a sat morning with no other shops open and a nasty brake leak in a terrible spot. They fit me right in and fixed the problem within a couple hours. Thanks again.

2022-02-17They have had my car since October. There has been virtually NO contact with me on what is going on. Every time we call or stop by, the mechanic working on the car is magically not in the shop that day, or in a meeting he cant be pulled out of.I know you read this on all reviews, but I truly wish I could give this business zero stars. Say a prayer I get my car back sometime this year.

2022-07-08We were in from out of town and had a nail in our tire. Luckily they were close to our resort and got us right in and fixed us all up. Fair price too!

2020-11-02I got a flat tire late in the evening and had to have my car towed back to my house because I didnt have a spare. I called Boyne City Tire & Brake first thing the next morning and gave them the tire size. They were able to find me new tires and scheduled for me to come in and have the tires mounted and balanced that same day, along with a new tire pressure sensor because the one that was in the flat tire got damaged. I had a friend take me to drop off my wheels, we went and had lunch, and the job was done within 30 minutes. I went home to put on the tires and everything has been great since! 👍🏼I called a handful of other tire shops in the area based on what I could find immediately on Google, including my local dodge dealerships, and these guys were by far the most professional and reasonable to deal with. The manager (Matt) was fun and entertaining to talk with as well.

2020-01-22If you ever have a tire problem in Boyne City, I would suggest Boyne City tire and brake. They were able to get me in right away today. They didnt have to, but they did. Repaired my tire, and sent me on my way. They were great to deal with, friendly, and very reasonably priced.

2018-10-25Was on my way up to Boyne City on a Friday night and slid out. After taking my car into Petoskey on Saturday, thinking I would have more options and was told everyone was full up. I took it to Joe and Brian in Boyne City with really no options and they quickly diagnosed that my tires were full of mud and simply needed to be cleaned out, which only took 20-30 minutes. Brians fast fix kept our weekend plans on track. Joe was very knowledgeable as well and my experience was fantastic with them. Would highly recommend to anyone who seeks expert advice and knowledge. Just make sure you listen. I greatly appreciate their care on a Saturday.

2020-09-14Great customer serviced from Matt. Got my car in right away and solved my car problem by doing a tire balance on brand new tires purchased at Belle Tire in Petoskey where I was told a wheel alignment would be needed at a charge of $250.

2019-07-13Needed alternator repair on the day we were leaving town. They got us in quickly and repaired it quickly as well so we could get going on our triphome. Can’t say enough how great they were.

2018-01-14Wish I could rate with ZERO stars. They worked on my car about 18 months ago, I since then have had to take it to a different shop to get what their hack of a mechanic repaired. Missing bolts, pins, and other hardware has become a nightmare not to mention very expensive. I will never recommend them to anyone! Steer clear and save yourself a hassle not to mention some money.

2017-01-02We were at Boyne for a vacation from Indiana and had a wheel bearing blow. Boyne City Tire and Brake fit me in on my schedule, fixed it completely at a fair price. They allowed me to stay on vacation without taking advantage of my circumstances. Thanks and God Bless!
