I visited Boyne for the first time with my two children on 2/19/22. We rented equipment and had a blast. When we returned our equipment, we went to retrieve our boots from locker 1028 which we paid for that morning. Our locker was empty, our pin code still worked. My kids and I were stranded with no boots to wear to our vehicle. The equipment personnel were helpful and concerned but the front desk offered no assistance and reiterated Boyne Mountain had no responsibility for stolen goods. Three pairs of boots, gone. At least a $300.00 value, more importantly we to walk in the snow, in our socks to our vehicle.
Very nice room at first glance. However, I was disappointed that there were no comfortable chairs for sitting. We had a wooden table and 2 chairs, cute but harder functional or enjoyable to sit in. Your choice is to be uncomfortable on the hard chairs or sit on the beds. I have back problems, and a comfortable chair alleviates m pain, but not here. Two nights and highway robbery at $750 and for a lacrosse tournament no less. Nevertheless, the room was nice, though smelling of moth balls for whatever reason, and the people are all very accommodating. We ate at Everett’s, and the buffet breakfast that came with the room was very good and had everything you could imagine. The prices are high, 8 chicken wings for $18 but very good. The park was very high, 11 years old being adult prices at $35 or $40 with another $6 for a locker. It was a stay that was memorable but also very expensive. One of the worst parts is the tv system and remote. How the heck are you supposed to get any stations? The numbers don’t match the TV guide. It was impossible to get even the news. It needs to be more watcher friendly.
Clean rooms though priced somewhat high for the amenities you recieve. Be aware that if you eat at the restaurants most of the time the food comes out at room temp. There are also no microwaves in the rooms either. The wait staff and staff members at the hotel are very accommodating and do their best.
Room phone was broken. Had to report it twice before anyone came to look at it. Front desk put in an IT ticket. Stayed there 4 days and it was still broken when we left. Room from the floor above us had a leak in the bathroom. Heard dripping whenever the guests above used their shower. One of our children fell in the Avalanche Bay area and required stitches. There was no follow up or even a token gesture to see how he was doing or if we needed anything.Overall the resort was okay but its not stellar. They could really improve on the customer experience. For the price and travel distance, there are likely closer options for you.
We had an absolute blast! I have taken my kids here a few times a year for several years and its always a treat! They especially love the drop slide and the Vortex. Only four stars, because the race zone slides were not open. Update2-22: busy Saturday! It was still a blast!
Easily the best mountain in Michigan. If you don’t live close at least try and visit once. I had a blast going there because i usually snowboard southern MI hills but this was unlike snything in the metro Detroit area. The staff also make really nice runs and are very kind people!
I just have to say that the lifeguards at the waterpark are PHENOMENAL! I was so impressed, all of them are on it! They dont stand still for a second and have whistles to get peoples attention because its so loud in there. The rooms are beautiful cute little, cottage-esque looking. The staff is great. Everyone is super friendly. If I had one complaint, it would be that I could hear our neighbors every time they opened and closed their door all throughout the night. Aside from that, everything was great. Wish I could give 4.5 stars!
The skiing - well, I guess if you only love groomers its great. But I like moguls. Only one tiny area left ungroomed for bumps to grow. There is some tree skiing also but they are short and theres lots of wood to hit since it doesnt seem to snow quite enough to get really good coverage.
We stayed at Disciples Ridge, condos. Our condo had quite a few issues. The master shower did not work, the other bathroom sink would not drain, the cabinet door in the bathroom just fell off. One television did not work, but perhaps the biggest pain was we were unable to park in front of our condo. We had two spaces per our condo rental however, every day others parked in our spots with no parking passes. I called for assistance and was told they would take care of it but they never did. It is extremely annoying with two small children not to be able to park near the condo. The condos are far enough away that it is necessary to drive to activities.
Truly disappointing, we stayed in the junior suite in the clock tower and not only was the building dated but the room felt like the 1980s. The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable, like an old spring mattress caused for a terrible night sleep. We went to a restaurant and the host sat us down and they forgot about us until 15 min later when I had to go up and ask where our server was, to her credit the hostess was phenomenal and served us herself. While eating, the restaurant sprung a leak and water came pouring down on other peoples table. The parking lots and sidewalks were crazy icy and terrible to walk on. I tried to like the place for any rustic charm, but it continued to disappoint me at every turn.
Not good service, it was way over crowded and the lines were ridiculous. They had people waiting outside in the cold for the waterpark and the inside was like a tuna can, everyone is jammed together. The pricing is outrageous for food which wasnt even that good. Parking was nice but the fact that theres people everywhere because of the stupid lines makes it hard to find a spot. I wish I could give it a good review because I came here as a kid but its obviously changed. Unfortunately I have to give it this review, I feel like it just caters to kids more than older people. Oh well. The skiing hill looks awesome though.
Had an issue with fireplace glass falling off and cutting ankle. Second stay , the shower comes on without turning on the water and it only comes out scalding hot! Both soda vending machines were completely empty. Had to go offsite for bottles of soda and water. Towel hooks are loose and barely staying on the wall. Beds need updating . Management was great despite the conditions of the room.
Weve been coming here for the last several years and love this ski resort! We enjoy the green trails and an occasional blue - Ramshead and Disciples lifts carry us to our favorites. There are a variety of slopes, trails, terrain parks and lifts, plenty of food options (some are a bit pricey) and variety of shops in the village. Smores Hot Chocolate at Forty Acres Tavern is my favorite way to warm up! Lots of activities everywhere, staff are always helpful and pleasant no matter where you are. There is a water park attached but we have never been. Rooms in the lodge are spacious and inviting, but there are options for cabins as well. Always a great experience!
This was such a serene place; it was my first vacation with kids and it was such a pleasant experience! The only thing is because the seasons are changing there isnt anything for kids to do this time of year: too warm for snow-related activities; too cold for the water park to be open. They do have a heated pool within the hotel but my kids are already a bit sick, plus, we did not pack swimsuits. There isnt any room service, however, there is a concierge and the front desk is always available; within the hotel is a Starbucks (barista is awesome and so are the drinks), a diner, spa, gift shop and library; outside the hotel are various places (kind of reminds me Frankenmuth). This would be a wonderful place for kids just be mindful of the time of year... it would be great for couples of all ages... it was a wonderful experience!!!
Took my kids for spring break. Monday-Friday. We booked a room in Clock Tower to be slopeside. When we arrived, the reception was closed at Clock Tower. I used the phone to call the resort, and the girl that answered told me to go to MGL, as if everyone should know what MGL is. Anyone involved in customer service knows you dont use acronyms with your customers. Our room had so much mold in the shower and on the bathroom ceiling that we had to change rooms at 11 pm because my kids, who have mold allergies, could barely breathe. After 15 rings, someone at the front desk finally answered and agreed to have a key waiting to a different room after this single mom packed up all of the stuff in the room and two ill teens waited in the car. No assistance was offered, just that they wouldnt charge me extra for the mold free room at MGL. Only a few restaurants were open during the week and food was very expensive and not very high quality, and very little selection. The water park is very small and, even if you order your tickets online in advance, you still have to wait in the same line as those who didnt advance order. By the way, the line was outside in the cold, in my swimsuit. The water park is not attached to the hotel. It is next to it. The line took 30 minutes, so my four hour tickets were reduced to 3 1/2 hours, which were already more expensive for all day tickets to the largest water park in Illinois. The staff really seemed only concerned about the money they were making, and not at all on our satisfaction. My second room had a phone that didnt work at all and a refrigerator that leaked all over the carpet. On a good note, the slopes and rental staff were wonderful, even if a little spendy. The pool and hot tub was very nice. However, the only way I would go back was if I lived close and only wanted to ski or board, but didnt need accommodations or meals.
The front desk staff was rude. They didn’t have the room I reserved online. Gave me the run around trying to get my reserved gated cabin. My and family felt very uncomfortable. One of the white guests said this was a place for white people; blacks are not welcome. The only upside is, that I received a full refund.
Boyne Mountain was a fun Michigan experience. Stayed in the Disciples Village area and snowboarded during the day while going to Avalanche Bay (indoor waterpark) in the early afternoon and evening. Even though its late March, about 1/2 the runs are still open. Rental is a cinch and the mobile app is good for reserving lift tickets. I wish the Waterpark had an easier entry instead of queuing up people at 11AM to pick up wristbands. Great visit and will definitely be back this winter during the night skiing time of year.
First of all, Id like to say that the staff, accomidations, and everything was awesome. We had a great time! The one star is for the OWNERS or MGMT that is continuing to enforce the anti-science mask mandates for their employees. The place is packed. Every restaurant and none of the patrons have a mask. I would have loved to see some smiling faces behind the counter.
Resort is nice and golf courses are great. However, just found out that all the condos at each of the three locations require a three night minimum now. No more weekend trips I guess. What a stupid idea to make more money. I guess we are headed somewhere else for our annual trip.
If I could give 0 stars I would. Terrible experience here and will not be returning. I signed up for the winter Zipline tour for Saturday February 19th. I was super excited, as per my research, Boyne was the only place I could find that offered a winter Zipline tour. So I booked it. We drove 5 hours in one day to get there. The instructions from my email said to come a half an hour early to get ready. We got there a half an hour early. Nothing was set up and our Zipline group wasnt all there yet. A group of 6 people came at exactly 1:00pm (the time our tour was SUPPOSED to begin). Very poorly run. If individuals who signed up are late, that is their problem. It is not fair that participants who come on time have to wait for others. There should be rules and protocol in place for this. Unacceptable. There was no getting ready, or instructions or suiting up at 12:30 like there should have been. And the icing on the cake? After 1:00pm, the employees state its too windy and dangerous to do the Zipline. They wouldnt have it running again until Monday the employee stated. Interesting to me was that it was not windy at all. My partner and I went outside and their was barely any wind..very disappointing. Very poorly run.. will not be going to Boyne again or recommending it. Will go to Nubs nob or Mt Holly from now on.
Pretty destination, the silverware and plates and extras that were stocked in the room was a nice touch. The electric fireplace was noisy, but helped with warm room and the ambiance was nice. Great campus and food choices, our servers were great and helpful. The room keys and doors could use some updates.
This was initially going to be a negative review. We went skiing here for the first time and got stranded at the top of the mountain with only a black diamond path available to ski down. There was no warning at the bottom before we got on the lift. Had we known we would never gone up as we’re all beginners. My wife ended up hurting her knee on the way down. To my surprise customer service was very understanding and agreed with me that there should have been signs warning us. Shout out to Sam for giving us a full refund and showing that they will do what’s right despite not being obligated to. Thank you Sam.
This place is so nice!!! So much to see and do and a lot of it is free when you stay here!!!! (Kayaks, disc golf, pool, fitness room(which is incredible) trails to hike, chairlift, etc..)The buffet breakfast (an extra cost I highly recommend you reserve when you make your reservations) is delicious with all the choices! Made to order omelets and pancakes too!!The rooms are so well decorated, so, so, so clean! And a great size! Bigger than expected.Everyone from the front desk staff, housekeeping, restaurant and adventure staff was so amazingly kind! Greeted everywhere with a smile and kind words even though, like everywhere else this year, they are short staffed. Our Zip line team, Brandon, Ethan? and Shae were a lot of fun and truly seemed interested in our well being. We gave them a workout!Thank you so much for a great getaway!!! Hope to do it again someday!
Started out going off the road into a snowbank as the boyne mountain shuttle buss driver blew straight thru a stop sign on the main road infront of me. Driver could not even apologize. Told the main desk about it and no one seemed to care . You think paying 850 for a room per night and every thing else you dont need to wreck your vehicle as well. Rental shop workers were very nice and helpful and happy taco truck could be the best tacos in the world.
So my family and I went to the pool today, on the way out as my son and I was walking a mouse came out from the bushes and ran under our feet. My special needs son stepped on him (clearly by mistake). I expected more from Boyne Mountain to have rodent-free landscaping
My 6 yr old learned to ski quickly and painlessly with boyne mountain snowsports academy’s world-class ski instructor, Todd Crawford. It was a better experience than I could have ever imagined. Todd is professional, punctual, empathetic, and a has a real knack for engaging not-so-brave kids (and adults!!).
I loved to go to Boyne Mtn every year but my trip on Jan. 2022 was a disappointment. This year they installed a coral scanner in front of the six man lift which drastically slowed down the lines. This year the lines were twice as big, at times 5 lifts went up with no one on them when there was a massive line because of problems with the coral scanner. In addition for some reason they thought they needed a guy to regulate the lines on who goes up put he/she only slows things down and is more of nuisance than help. Boyne tried to implement new ideas this year that ended up being a huge failure. On weekends, Boyne lift tickets are worth half there value as they use to be because they make the simple process of getting on a lift a long dragged out agonizing process.
Went for the 3rd time . We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Very clean .Nice staff. The only complaints (which are not really complaints)we wanted a room with a balcony and wanted to face the slopes. Neither could be done, which was still ok. Check-in needs to be about 3 or 4, not 5. It does NOT leave alot of time for the kids to do avalance bay and they still charge full days price. We will be back again next year
I loved the 2 floor housing with 1 floor going to each booking. They were nice rooms and had a great living room and kitchen. The issue that we had was the family above us partying while we were sleeping, so we were unlucky. If you want to test your luck on whether or not youll get a good nights sleep, come here. They do have a fun little town-like area where you can ride ski lifts and go to arcades and an indoor water park.
Beautiful resort that we visited for the first time. The scenery, people, food, and atmosphere are great. The summer pace was nice and slow. The kids loved the Zip Line, Golf Kart Mountain trip, and of course the pool. They have a lakeside private beach with Bar. Everything we ate while at the resort was very good. We will be back again and again.
We used to love boyne mountain but now they are terrible. Overpriced full price lift tickets for only accessing half the mountain (which we bought online and had to find a machine that wasn’t broken to print out), outrageous almost hour long lift lines ALL because they have broken gates that wont scan cards and no lifties to help when they don’t work, the bathrooms are disgusting and the price of food is more expensive than vail. Whomever is managing this place is driving it into the ground. We are going to give our business to some other local resorts that aren’t trying to short change everyone’s experience. Waste of a trip and money.
Stayed 2 nights in main hotel. We had a king suite with hot tub.Our 1st time staying here.We were pleasantly surprised at how nice, friendly staff is.Theres so much to do here as a family however we have no kids.. so adult version is this::Theres a bar around every corner. The outside heated pool at night is where you wanna beThe food at forty acres tavern is bombbb*try the maple flavored wings*Atmosphere in Everetts is so great! The beds and pillows in our suite was like at home..very comfortableAnd last but not least the chair lifts up the mountain to look over the beautiful state of MI, its like nothing Ive ever seen and puts the tunnel of trees to shame! Its a MUST!The only semi complaint is when trying to get in touch with water park, or other services in our room we werent answered and put on hold. 🤷♀️
Really nice resort. There is so much to do here! The only critique I would give is thst a dedicated lap pool would be nice. There are underwater markings for it in the regular pool, but sometimes it’s a bit annoying avoiding other swimmers. Other than that it’s a great place!
I got back on skis for the first time in many years, and my kids skied for the first time this year. I skied at Boyne many times when I was young. We went back for some Spring Break skiing this year. I have never skied there in April. The snow was still good in the morning. And it was not crowded so there was plenty of runs open. The lift tickets were a good price with a spring discount, about 30% off. And there were a lot of fun things to do other than ski with yard games and bonfires going in the great weather. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. We cant to go back next season!
Amazing skiing! There was lots of terrain and plenty of runs for every level of experience, from first time skier to pro. Rentals were easy. Food was good. It felt great to get in the heated pool after skiing, and when it got too cold, you could swim into the indoor pool. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and overall it was a five star skiing experience.
Disappointing!I was there for 4 days. I could not check in until after 5. When checking in, I was told there would be no housekeeping during my stay. The rooms felt very dated ( the lamp shades were fringed), the finish was wearing off many of the surfaces. The on-site food options were resort-expensive but chain restaurant-quality.Overall, not worth the money. I will find another hotel the next time I will be in Northern Michigan.
Air conditioner did not work. After multiple attempts to “fix” the problem finally Moved rooms and received a discount for the inconvenience. Overall nice resort.. clean. Starbucks drink stations were mostly “down, not working”. way too expensive to eat there for just regular/ cheap ingredients. I do understand resorts are higher prices but “fake, cubed “chicken on our bbq chicken pizza?!? Gross .Our stay at crystal mountain was much better!!
Boyne Mountain is awesome, and the customer service was amazing. The resort lost power and only two lifts were open, they were so nice that they refunded our tickets, and let us ski free. The few runs we could go on were really fun. Cant wait to see the whole mountain one day. Oh and pizza was good from the Trophy Room.
Beautiful place to ski/snowboard. It was perfect for both newbies and vets- my husband, and dad are both very experienced, myself and my son were new (ish) and it was the best of both worlds. My son had a great time skiing for the first time. We will definitely be making the trip back next season!
First timer with family and loved the experience. Nice amenities and the sports activities were a hit for all ages 5- 42. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely plan ahead for your trip as some activities book out fast and it gives you more time to search for deal packages if you are a beginner with skiing/snowboarding (lesson, equipment rental, lift ticket, slope access, etc). We tried out snowboarding, skiing, ziplining, and tubing. Its is a resort so prepare for such pricing on activities and food. We balanced out the cost of activities by taking a day to grocery shop and then cooked most meals in our villa for the remaining week. Would definitely recommend and have plans to return again.
Of course it is a bit small compared to big European resorts or what you can find in Colorado or Utah, but the slopes are really nice, with various types of terrain and difficulty, the snow is good and you can really enjoy your time skiing there. More over the atmosphere in the resort is really nice, the staff is wonderful and the whole feeling here is really pleasant. A very good experience for us, we will be back for sure!
Yes it was expensive but it would have to be to have so many chairlifts running and so many employees there to help and so many accommodations everywhere you look. It was my sons first time skiing and it took him a little while before he mastered it. But they have so many well kept runs for skiers of all skill levels. Well be back again!
Boyne highlands is a very nice place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean. There is much more to do thank just snow sports. The spa, water park, arcade, and all the restaurants are very nice. The only complaint I ever have is the customer service. The hotel staff is very young and not super well trained on how to handle situations. I do go back every year and I would recommend this resort. Just don’t expect to be treated like you are at one of the nicer hotels like the Ritz or Four Seasons.
Its no Big Sky but definitely worth the trip from Chicago. The hotel is a little dated and the lifts could use some upgrades but overall a nice little ski resort with plenty of amenities, food options and decent runs. Took us a while to explore the place and find somewhat hidden runs/lifts but it was worth it. Unfortunately, even at the beginning of March they were loosing snow due to the warm weather but they do have the capacity to make snow on most of their runs. I was impressed on how well they were handling Covid-19 restrictions and that most of the guests were adhering to mask mandates, but theres always a few in every crowd that think it doesnt apply to them. I did hear some staff remind guests to pull up their masks and there were plenty of signs reminding guests that there is still a need for caution. I am very impressed on how friendly the staff is, especially at Everetts. We would definitely consider coming back again.
Great mountain with lots of lifts for as small as the resort is compared to out west. Great value between rental and lift tickets. I just visited for one day but definitely worth going back. Terrain park on the right side of the mountain had huge jumps and was amazing. Would go back.
Friendly service overall and a beautiful space, though the rooms do feel a bit dated (hopefully something thatll improve over time). Visiting during the spring and the pandemic does mean a lot of activities were closed but they certainly seem to be soldiering on.Will report more on the individual places within the resort as we visit.
I have only been here in summer time. The resort is really clean, staff is friendly, the grounds are beautiful and the restaurant s have great food. Rooms are clean and nice for the price a little dated but have a sky resort feel so its fitting. The room we stayed in the shower leaked and the toilet wouldnt fully flush, but that was the only downside. The pool was really nice as well! We will be back again for sure as we love it.
Nice resort I like coming here, unfortunately I dont think they do a good enough job advertising that the Sunday pass is only good from 9am to 4:30pm. My group was incredibly disappointed when we found that out. Other than that, this is one of the best places to ski in the lower peninsula
We booked this on a whim, as a fun get away for our family of four. We were pleased by the recreation options, and the well kept grounds. Most of the staff who we interacted with were great Raphael at the adventure center was so friendly and accommodating, our servers at 40 acres tavern were friendly, and Lauren at the front desk was awesome (I think that was her name). We enjoyed the food at the 40 acres tavern, and at the Beach Haus. Mostly everything was great, but we did have some concerns during our stay.1. The extremely dated rooms needed so many repairs. There was ripped carpet in our room, of which our children tripped on. Ripped carpet in the hallways, leaky toilet, stained blinds; torn curtains, among other things. 2. The cleanliness of the room. During a time when cleanliness is important, it seems as if the mark is missed in this department. Our decor hanging mirror had finger prints on it upon checking in, our baseboards in the bathroom were dirty, shades weren’t cleaned, showers had water spots on them, etc. I went through and cleaned the high touch areas, since it was obvious that probably wasn’t done.Despite these things, my family had a fun time, and will likely return. I was just expecting a more updated room, and especially a clean room.
One of the best impromptu family vacations weve ever had! My family was holding a memorial service for my grandparents to be buried at a cemetery in Boyne. We have a cottage in Elk Rapids but didnt want to deal with the drive after driving up from downstate. We booked the Splash N Stay package and were not disappointed. We never knew there was so much to do right there at the resort! Some of the restaurants even delivered to our room! We stayed during the beginning of September and the leaves were just starting to change. We rode the chair lift multiple times and rented a golf cart to do the scenic tour. The rest of the time was spent at the Indoor Water Park. We have now planned on making this annual trip/vacation!
Im giving the resort 2 stars. All the staff members and tour guides were very nice and helpful. However my review mainly reflects the clock tower hotel and Everetts restaurant. I expected to pay more for the holiday weekend but after seeing the room I was extremely disappointed. The walls were dirty, the light fixture had cobwebs all around it, and the hot water didnt work in both sinks however there was hot water in the shower. The decor was very outdated and there was a wedding being held outside behind our room with extremely loud music being played until 11pm. We added the breakfast to our package and was surprised to see it empty in there but after getting our food we understood why, the food was very bland. I went to the front desk and they removed it from our charge for the next day. Another downside was the hot tub, when turning it on black stuff was coming in from the jets, Ive never experienced that anywhere so I passed.. I do highly recommend the Segway tour with Rafael, it was a great experience going through the trails. And of course Kilwains, best icecream Ive honestly ever had.
I booked 2 nights and was planning to go for 3 nights as how the website showing a beautiful place for family also all the fun activities for kids that was like a one stop shop how was explained to me over the phone prior to booking that biking, horse rides, & ziplines all these fun things got my kids excited until we got there breakfast was not included, horses and the other activities are not available due to Covid and this understandable but been honest and saying the truth as I am booking and for the first time going to this place it wouldve been appreciated instead of finding out when we there add to this breakfast was not included when I paid for breakfast. Some of the staff couldve handled my concerns a little better, they couldnt care less.
Awesome room! Great experience even though we came at a strange time due to covid and being in between seasons! Perfect little family bubble vacation! The check in experience was quick and not pushy at all even though we were visiting just as guests of our generous friends that own the timeshare. ❤🧡💛
I have had so many memories of staying up at Boyne Mountain Resorts Bluegreen complex. I will continue to visit in the future as well. So many places to visit, for example, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Mackinaw Island, and so many more interesting towns. The resort is absolutely beautiful with options of chair lift rides, tractor or horse drawn wagon rides, smores by a fire, and soon a sky bridge. Highly recommend for families, and adults of any ages.
Overall a good experience and worth a family trip. We visited in late October in the midst of COVID-19. My kids and I enjoyed wandering the property, riding the chair lift and the indoor/outdoor pool was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. The reasons we didnt give it five stars: There was a certain level of uncleanliness about the place, dirty and small trash on the carpets, non functional lights in our room, etc. Nothing abhorrent, but still not as perfect as I would have hoped.for the code of the resort. Second, the entire time we were there the computer system was down which made the entire resort cash only. I can understand this for a day or two, but it was over a full week by the time we left. Finally, on one of the nights we were there I was wandering the halls later at night and there was a very strong smell of marijuana coming from the Employees Only closet across in the hallway. Again, not a serious issue just disappointing for a family vacation at a premium price. These things shouldnt detract you from going and my family did enjoy themselves, but it isnt as premium as some of the other places weve stayed.
Was a bit skeptical when we arrived as there was an event going on and a lot of things were closed (zipline, etc). However this was a great resort to visit during the current situation. They really enforced the mask rule and social distancing and lots of hand sanitizer available in restaurants, elevators, etc. There is a lot of outdoor acrivities we could do without interaction with others. My only complaint is that the cost of food was pretty high. However one restaurant had a happy hour and reasonable pizza prices. All of the staff we spoke to could not have been nicer or more helpful. We especially enjoyed the servers and bartenders in the pizza restaurant as well as Everetts. We would definitely love to come back. This is a beautiful region of Michigan to visit.
Beautiful resort. While the resort has cable, I would suggest bringing video game systems, streaming devices, and some board games. The cabin has a gas grille, two refrigerators, full bathrooms on every floor, dishes, and enough room to sleep 8 comfortably, and up to 10. Loved this place.
Boyne resort is an amazing place and a huge complex thats so beautiful in the summer time. DEER LAKE lodge and an amazing lil beach and lil sand bars that makes cooling off easy. Dont forget about when visiting the clock tower to stop in at the trophy room for some cold drinks and amazing pizza! 10/10 highly recommend!
The pros: Super Bowl had great snow and lift operators were good. No lift lines on a Wed. The cons: absolutely no place to sit inside to warm up except in the womens bathroom and no fire pit or heaters outside to warm up at all. in contrast to nubs nob which had both and were able to sit by the fire for a few minutes inside the day before at Nubs. Have to take a shuttle from the parking lot and the shuttle driver didnt even look to see that we were literally 30 away from the shuttle stop on the way back to the parking lot with frozen toes and feet so we had to wait for him to come around again.
The price was really competitive for the area and the architecture of the building is very evocative. The room was very spacious with a little kitchen (no stove but sink, fridge, microwave, dinnerware and coffee maker included). Our room also had an amazing view facing a small lake which was very relaxing. What I liked the most is that the size of the room and the appliances give enough freedom and make you feel like you are in an apartment instead, rather than a hotel room.
We rented a slope side ski cabin for the weekend and had a great time skiing with great weather. The staff was friendly and always wore their masks. They seemed to be on task and taking care of problems when they presented themselves. The only problems I had were with the website. I had trouble finding times that the hills were open online and when other things were open. After navigating the phone system I was connected to a person who was able to tell me.
Just checked into this hotel with no service i asked to be called for an early check in was told i would recieve a call no such thing ever happen after checking in at the normal check in time. the keys didnt work along with the room i thought i was getting is no such room they picture one thing online they gave something completely different . When talked to a manager was met with no apology at all first and last time i will ever stay at this hotel. What a let down could of stayed at a holiday inn and got better service then this bait and switch operation they have going here.
A little overpriced - we spent well over a grand to stay for two nights and ski for one day - but overall great service and enjoyed ourselves. Could do better about enforcing COVID rules. Lots of maskless people. Room amenities were nice but the room definitely needs some work. Lots of scuffs on the walls, broken tile in the bathroom, etc. Again - not a big deal, but for $350/night, Id expect a little better.
Paid full price for a 3 day ski weekend here and wish I could get a full refund. Only about 1/6 of the runs were open and 4/12 chairlifts despite there being a few feet of snow on the ground. Youd think during a pandemic they would have multiple options open so people don’t crowd around 1 or 2 lifts but apparently they don’t care about their guests and let 100s of people crowd around a lift with 0 social distancing. We also got the breakfast package option. The first morning we tried calling the front desk and guest services for a good 30 minutes to try to figure out how to redeem that with the restaurant being closed and no one answered. When we finally went down to the front desk, they told us breakfast had ended 5 minutes ago. When we got out to the slopes, we got 3 runs in in about 2 and a half hours and called it due to the insane crowds. The workers have all been super nice and none of it is their fault, however, management should be ashamed. Overall, terrible ski weekend and we would’ve been better off at treetops or literally anywhere else.
Great ski resort thats not too far from the Muskegon-Grand Rapids area. Shuttles to and from the parking lots were very helpful. Never had to wait long in the chair lift line until later in the evening once other lifts closed. Great food and drink options in the village when taking a break. Was nice to grab a seat in front of a big bon fire with a beer. Will absolutely be coming back again!
Ive been coming here for 26 years in a row maybe missed 1 or 2 years. I have seen so much of Boyne grow. I remember seeing Everett working in his office the old kilwins, now a logo shop 😥🙄... my dads good friend David Sieland worked here for years. We Love coming here and sharing the yearly winter trip with our family. My wife and I even got married here! This last trip up 2022 was somewhat of a disappointment. I understand Inflation and all but geez. Boyne is getting quiet, pricey! If you come and stay on property with a family of four for 3-4 nights, Lift tickets, one day at Water park, and eating on property plan on a minimum of $5-6k! Amenities that used to be included are no more Example BoyneLand is no longer Free! Not even with a ski rental is included. We felt Nickle and dimed everywhere. Please Managment review your costs. P.S you need an Ice cream/chocolate store back.
Amazing little area in Northern Mi. Disc golf course is awesome! Very hilly and you okay alongside the mountain. You need to pay $10 to ride the trolly up or down, so go to the adventure center for any activities. There is a little downtown walking shopping with a restaurant (lots of outdoor seating right now!) The food was delicious and they have a decent beer / drink list. You can stay overnight or just visit for the day!
Couldnt do many of the activities and events offered, due to CoVID 19. Bit still enjoyed with my social bubble. Kayaking, Deer Lake, trails, chair lift. It was all great. Accommodations we had were a bit dated but good place to make memories. Will probably visit again in winter.
I thought the area was beautiful. The lodge and resort were nice. All the shops, stores, and restaurants on property was awesome. This was my first time in real snow!! I tried snowboarding-I thought it was a great experience. My second teacher, Emily was great, my teacher the day before was good too but I liked Emilys approach better and spent way more time upright!! My husband says the snow was icy... But I wouldnt know any better.
Played golf at Arthur Hills. BEAUTIFUL course and the greens are fantastic... HOWEVER, they have a policy which allows people to blast music from their golf carts without regards to your right to enjoy the course and sounds of nature. If this is ok with you, go..youll love it. However, if this is not ok, play elsewhere. I will not be back.
Crowded with poor service at the bar restaurant. One bartender was rude to our group. He just kept pushing us to order drinks. When we finally got them he ignored our attempts to pay then complained that he didnt receive payment. Always thought you get a customer taken care of before moving on to the next.
Wow what a great experience for our first time! We had a king suite with a jacuzzi in the main building on the 3rd floor and it was beautiful. The room was huge and included a wet bar with a refrigerator. We also had a fireplace and a small table & chairs in our room. The hotel is spotless clean and everyone is so friendly! Staff is top notch and are willing to help with anything. They have several buildings here for lodging! Behind the main building is a village with shops and food. They have a adventure center which we rented a golfcart to do a scenic tour around the resort ×2 people 1hour $30.00 which was a blast it takes a full hour to make it around! We did it both days we were there. You can also zipline, segway tours, bicycle, and much more! There is a waterpark next door as well! The pool at the resort is amazing Due to Covid its only opened 9am-9pm year round. It is heated and again very clean! Start inside the building and swim through to outside pool. Two hot tubs included outside a small & large one. I cant say enough about this hotel. We will be back many times to say the least!! Photos included are from the scenic golfcart ride as well through the paved paths. Check this place out!!l
So far, was expecting avalanche Bay to be opening on Friday ,as we were told in it would be when we called last week.we called again 2 days ago and were told it would be opening next month which is a huge let down because we booked this vacation 1 month in advance specifically for avalanche Bay. Because we werent able to cancel we decided to still go and find other activities to do at the and close by. We are currently in our suite watching tv and eating popcorn bored after hitting the arcade, the worst arcade Ive ever seen. At most 10 the games worked, most not properly, and the credit to price situation made no sense at all... slightly frustrated, it was about 7 or 730. Ski lifts were running, people were still doing their snow sports, so We decided to walk the resort and check out some shops.. everything was closed. Also had to buys a pass to use the pool for tomorrow, and werent allowed to swim today because we booked our stay here through our timeshare Not a great start..hoping tomorrow will be better.
Loved the place in the past, but not this time.To their merit, the lift operators and the ski patrol everywhere on the slopes were doing their duty (as they should) in making sure no one got hurt while riding the lift or skiing downhill - the reason theyre getting any stars from me.But their COVID-19 approach this trip was a complete and sad joke across the entire resort. Got there last Wednesday night (Jan 13, 2021) only to notice that they only had 2 lifts running for the entire resort: the bunny hill (for children - barely any there, that one was ok) and the one right in front of the rental shop. No distance enforced, 4-6 people on the same lift chair, and looong lines with people jamming against each other. Some didnt bother to wear masks or at least attempt to cover their mouths/nose at all during the queue wait. There was one employee randomly scanning lift tickets - his focus was primarily scanning....The next day (Thursday, Jan 14, 2021) was somewhat better in the morning - they had an additional lift open near the ski patrol headquarters, and distancing was respected there, but ONLY there. The primary lift chair in front of the rentals still showed the same disregard and lack of supervision throughout the day.I know that everyone is fighting to stay afloat in the pandemic... But disregarding peoples health in the interest of making a quick buck doesnt bide well for me. Im having serious second thoughts about coming here again.
Overall very poor experience. Called a week in advance to reserve horseback riding. They messed up the reservation, sent me another families information and didn’t reserve my family’s spots. We ended up not being able to go because they overbooked. What was the worst was how it was handled afterwards very poor customer service. Things are wildly overpriced but that’s to be expected with most resources but even a mediocre level of customer service and competency was nowhere to be found. Very disappointing. Definitely won’t be returning and will be cautioning friends and families against vacationing here.
We loved our stay we will definitely be back! the resort is gorgeous with so much fun things to do and the staff are very friendly and helpful. special thanks to shawn who assisted us while we were there. we had a little issue with the location of our room but shawn fixed it right away. excellent customer service!i recommend for anyone who is trying to book, buy/include the breakfast too because its delicious!
Wonderful vacation!! Entire family had an amazing time from 8 to 80. There is so much to do and experience. My kiddos loved the nightly s’mores and movie night. We went during the summer and it was beautiful. Played golf, rode the ski lifts, visited the lake. Can’t wait to go back during ski season. Will definitely go again this summer!!
Had a great time. The snow was amazing. My only complaints was the food options and the varied hours that certain things are opened. Everetts was really expensive for what you get. And the bathroom for the room we stayed in at the clock tower lodge was very tiny and and toilet sucked. Other than that its the best place to ride and ski

2022-01-31Went during the week! It was a lot cheaper, definitely come and plan to ski Wednesday - Saturday cause otherwise the slopes close at 4:30 PM (Sunday- Tuesday) versus 9:00 PM (Wednesday - Saturday). Obviously there are exceptions depending on the day. But It’s the pretty much the same price so you might as well get some more ski time for your money! Food accommodations are pretty expensive for my taste but there are other local places to eat and I’d recommend getting a room with cooking utilities. The basic room only comes with a fridge and coffee maker so you’re forced to eat out or order in. The facilities are nice, the pools and the hot tubs. Everything is well taken care of. The ski slopes are well taken care of. They do it right here. The only down side is the price but these are the times we are living in and I’m also more frugal than most! I thought it was a great deal for the most part! Will definitely be coming again!

2022-01-31Kudos to the management and staff! One of the best ski trips we had as a group (1/30/22). Slopes were groomed really well! Everyone was so nice and accommodating especially them young people working at the ski lift and magic carpet! We had a great time because all of you did a good job! Well definitely come back

2022-02-03Absolutely an incredible adventure. It was like a winter wonderland. Tubing was absolutely fun. The fact our room had a fireplace was and a balcony was magical. The hot tub and outdoor heated pool was something I never thought I would do in the heart of winter. Absolutely amazing and the employees were friendly. Everything was close in proximity and the restaurants have amazing food. I would return again with my family

2022-03-10Really great for families and groups! Lots of activities to keep everyone happy, even folks who dont ski.Our group enjoyed skiing, snow tubing, horseback riding, and the water park.Only minor difficulties in accessing some of the amenities if you are not staying in the resort hotel. We needed to drive a couple times, but then couldnt find parking.Really cute little shops and restaurants, but they were a bit overpriced for the quality.

2022-03-26I thought this place was awesome! There was lots of restaurant options and the water park was fun. We didnt try the ski hills but over all we had a great stay and the rooms were clean. (The outdoor pool and jacuzzi was great too)

2022-01-10Huge waste of money. For what youre forced to pay in just two days, I could have went to Cancun for a week. My stay and save discount didnt work, and I spent an hour running around talking to every desk, they just didnt care and I wasted an hour running around and talking to people just to end up paying full price, when their offer failed. They force you to get all day lift tickets, when there isnt even night skiing most nights. We decided to stay to ski, and they failed to mention that its only open for one more hour. Got kicked off the hill at 4pm, after getting our tickets an hour earlier, in which we specifically asked about the ticket options. Every dining and anything you need there is just way overpriced. There was no water (no decent water), unless you got it from a vending machine. The coffee is awful in the room, and no complimentary anything. You have to buy every cup of coffee, not even complimentary coffee. They stuck us in the smallest and furthest room, which doesnt really add up to a value of $400 a night, tiny everything, nothing included. Everything closes early, youre always fighting time. By the end of our trip, we were all just repeating (eff this place).

2022-02-27Beautiful resort. Great place to ski. The weekend was very busy so plan accordingly. Couldnt purchase lunch at the resort, 2-3 hour wait at the eateries for a table. The lift staff was very friendly! Some of the restaurant and resort staff were unbelievably rude, snarky comments and all, which was very disappointing. The staff does make ones experience at a resort. Unfortunately, 3 stars for that reason.

2022-01-14The room was nice, we stayed at the Clock Tower Lodge. On that note I do not recommend the clock tower lodge, it has sub par plumbing and our toilet would not work even after calling maintenance. We had to go to the main lodge to use the bathroom. BUT the snowboarding was top notch and we had a blast.

2022-02-23The staff and service here were wonderful! I am an IKON pass member so I cannot comment on rentals or the lift ticket process. The resort grounds reminded me of a small village in Europe. The lift wait times were acceptable in my opinion. When speaking to the locals I understood there is a sense of community pride and honor. I understand St. Patrick’s weekend is a memorable time to be here.

2022-02-28Really enjoyed my 2-day trip to Boyne! Went during the Sam Adams Event and honestly, didnt think it got outrageous. Definitely enjoyed going on the backside of the mountain where the lift lines were shorter, but overall a beautiful trip. Only thing I would change would be a few more places near the slopes to chill. Some more picnic tables, or fires to warm up by. All of the seating and fires were in the center of the giant crowd of people and difficult to find seating.
