I highly recommend Brick Wheels! Their customer service is excellent, exemplified by Kyle who recently helped my wife and I with bikes and x-country skis. Over the course of a few visits, he was informative, took his time, and never pressured us to purchase anything. In the end, his thoughtful approach helped us feel comfortable moving forward and we couldnt be happier. Thank you Kyle and Brick Wheels!
I have never had a high end good quality bike but my husband wanted me to have something that would last, be comfortable and be easy to ride so we checked out this place at the recommendation of my daughter, Susan. We got very lucky to find two bikes that hadnt been sold yet. Chris was the associate who helped us and explained that they would take our old bikes and fix them up to benefit the TART trail. Thank you, Chris, and all the staff. You are awesome.
My wife and I came to town from Denver on Labor Day weekend for my brothers wedding and wanted to explore the area on bikes. We reserved a couple of e-bikes for Sunday morning at 9am. We arrived on time and saw that the store would not open until 11am which was kind of a bummer. As we were standing outside the store a guy on a bike turned around, came back, and greeted us. As it turns out, he is the rental manager at the store, Joe, and was just setting out for Maine on his bike. After a brief greeting he happily helped us out with our bikes and got us on the road pretty dang quick and gave us some sweet local routes to check out.I can only imagine the excitement he felt in setting out on a long trip, but still delayed the start to do some work before leaving. Awesome Awesome Awesome!Thank you, Joe. Safe travels and thank you for giving us the tools to a great weekend experience.
Shout out to Brick Wheels for such awesome service and repair! My chain slipped and I was having a hard time getting it back on myself, so I brought it in to the folks at Brick Wheels fully expecting to pay for the repair and for it to take some time. They put my bike up on the stand, fixed the chain in a few minutes, and sent me on my way without a charge. Wow! Exceptional service from a rockstar crew! Definitely coming back here for my rental and bike needs now. Thanks guys!
I came in with a tube that separated from the valve on I used bike I had just purchased. Chris had the front wheel off and the tube replaced in less than 10 minutes from when I walked in. Super happy they were able to get me in and pricing was reasonable as well! Highly recommend Brick Wheels
Rented eBike for recent weekend in Traverse City. Reservation staff was great on the phone. Upon arrival, staff person adjusted the seat to fit my wife and carefully explained all of the controls and operational details. Bike was fit and well maintained. 75 miles of riding with no issues. Rental price was fair for the high end bike.
Never was in the bike store before. It is awesome!!! My husband and I were very impressed. Its so much more than a bike store. You have to see it for yourself. We had rented snow shoes in advance for our weekend up north. Unfortunately, no snow. The staff gave us a refund with no questions asked. They were extremely customer friendly, even answered questions about what we could do, where we could eat, etc. We would go back to Traverse City just to rent bikes or buy some equipment from Brick Wheels!
Excellent service! Rented Fat tire bikes and they were ready and waiting for us upon arrival because I had called ahead of time to reserve and pay. The store is really cool inside and has a great selection of bikes to purchase as well. I would highly recommend Brick Wheels for all your bike needs:)
Great selection, sales and service team. They have bikes for the whole family and several specialty bikes (2 seaters, side and rear baskets for kids and pets, etc. Good selection of rental bikes including e-bikes. Located close to the trails for rentals or to try your new bike before you buy.
Brick Wheels is great! Ayden was super helpful with our purchase of a kids bike, and the trade in program is awesome. I got my first bike at brick wheels on 14th street back in the late 80s, and I’m super happy that I was able to buy my kid’s first bike there today—same great service and a fun experience my gal will remember. We don’t even live in TC anymore, but we’ll always pop into Brick Wheels when we’re back.
Traverse Connect loves to work with Brick Wheels, one of our very own investors, each year in regards to our Leadership Grand Traverse Program and using the TART Trails with their amazing bike rentals to accommodate the class. Not only does Brick Wheels have consistent, wonderful customer service, they truly care about our community and investing back into what is important. Their bikes are in great shape and equipped with baskets and bells, and they offer helmets that are always freshly cleaned. We cant wait for our next bike rental with Brick Wheels!!
Just purchased a Trek Verve+ 2 electric bike from Brick Wheels. The experience and service was exceptional. Matt was very knowledgable, patiently answered all of my questions, went through all of the features of the bike, and spent time fitting the bike to me. Highly recommend Brick Wheels. A 5 star +!
Recently had a couple of bike in for service and we couldnt be happier with how they turned out! They were also able to help replace a small damaged part from another bike with a used one they had on hand for free. 100% will be coming back for future tune-ups/maintenance
Great people. Matt is awesome. Takes your name if youre looking for something and actually calls when he gets it or finds it. Top class all the way around, even if youre not remortgaging your house for a new steed theyre just as helpful as if you were. My next ride will definitely come from Brick Wheels again.
We purchased our family new bikes recently from Brick Wheels. The staff is very knowledgeable and the price didnt break the bank! There is no comparison of the ride quality of the Cannondale against our previous department store bike. The Trek series Trial Bike handles incredibly well on the wooded trails around the area. Brick Wheels carries the latest tech and a staff is well versed on the latest tech. I highly recommend them.
A really great shop! I was on vacation and cracked the frame on my carbon bike. We were traveling so I needed a replacement fast. Matt - the tall, somewhat goofy looking guy, his own description - was extremely helpful. I am a difficult fit, 60 cm. He found me one the same day for a killer deal. I cant recommend them highly enough.
Brick Wheels is amazing. Aside from the quality and diversity of inventory, the customer service is fantastic! The owner, Tim Brick, has personally helped me on many occasions and his staff is equally as helpful. Whether youre a local, or on vacation, this place is a must see. They treat you like family and they go above and beyond each time I go. Even in the winter its cool to go there because I can get some rentals there and try out something that I wouldnt normally try out.
From purchasing to service to accessories, Brick Wheels has been nothing but top notch customer service for us! We are new to riding and needed guidance on what we needed and where to start. We always feel like VIPs when we go in, and their staff are not only very knowledgeable, but theyre also transparent and dont pressure sell. They value their customers and it shows. We 100% recommend Brick Wheels!
Although the selection at the store was scarce at the time, I didnt feel pressured to purchase something I didnt want, nor was I upsold. My salesperson was knowledgable, polite, honest, and steered me in the right direction. I also like the selection of rides and services offered such as the many rental options. I look forward to returning to have our bikes serviced at this store.
Nice bike shop, most of the sales people are friendly and knowledgeable. The service / parts department is disorganized and can be difficult to work with. Had to special order some parts for my bike, requested next day shipping which they said was no problem. Parts show up late and they claim they can not do anything but standard shipping. Then they had a hard time locating the parts and gave me a bunch of additude when I questioned what was ordered. Save yourself some time and order parts online.
Staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable. When I test rode a bicycle I was given the freedom to go on the trail. . I was able to test drive more than one bike to truly get a feel for what would be best for me.There is a wide assortment of accessories whether it be for safety purposes like helmets & lights, or little comforts In terms of comfy seats for male/female anatomy or gauntlets for winter riding.I have cycled for more than 35 years in different states and Brick Wheel in Traverse City is the most impressive bike store I have ever been in.
Matts service was incredible. He was patient, he made sure I understood everything, he was affable, and went out of his way to make me feel at home in the store. Avery was also very kind and helpful. I had a wonderful experience this visit and I will be back soon. Thank you all so very much.-Big John
So glad we rented bikes! These guys were so friendly and helpful. We rented two cruisers and a tandem. They made sure everything on the bikes was in perfect working order and helped fit each bike to proper seat height for us. We biked all the way from the shop to suttons bay and back. It was a blast and we cant wait to come back!
I brought my skis in for a quick grind and tune. Josh in service went above and beyond getting them tuned. He repaired the bases, filling in many scratches, stone grind and doing a 2 step wax job. They were mighty fast for race night last week. Thanks Josh for going above and beyond!I have had the same level of service when bringing my bike in for service. The Techs do a great job. I highly recommend Brick Wheels for your bike and ski service needs.
I have been a customer of Brick Wheels since I was in high school. That is where I bought my first “real” bike about 12 years ago. I know have a young son and that is where we’ve bought all three of his bikes thus far. They have an amazing trade-in program on their kids bikes... Buy a bike, ride it for a couple years till they grow out of it, bring it back to Brick and get half back of what you paid for it toward the next size up. Quality bikes that last. The staff at Brick Wheels is amazing. They are so passionate and knowledgable and they live what they sell. They are quick to give a smile and offer their expertise. I tell all my friends, and foes (for that matter) if they are looking for the best products and services go to Brick Wheels. Hands down.
Aiden is one of the most knowledgeable cyclist salesperson I have encountered in TC bike shops. He knows his brands Trek etc. inside and out. He can talk details and comparisons of models components and new bike technologies in minute detail. And he’s got ride time to discuss comparison rides. A wealth of knowledge Aiden is amazing stop by and talk bikes with the guy. You’ll be amazed!
Big mistake from my end by giving my house project to Brick and Bolt .Note-***pls make sure not to give your house projectto Contractor Mr. Sindhoor. He will definitely delay the things with so many excuses which are irrelevantAlso he doesnt have proper skill set of laborers
My sister-in-law, who lives in Traverse City, rented a SUP (stand-up paddle board) that my we all enjoyed, so much so that I went back two days later and rented another board. At the time we rented, rentals were for 24 hours and were the best rental rates in Traverse City! We took the SUPs both times all the way out to Old Mission and had a blast!Highly recommend them!!
Brought bike in to their service dept in april for lockout failure.after numerous bleeds, brand new lockout assembly and brand new shock I still had same problem in sept.was without bike for seven weeks off and on throughout summer and spent 550$in parts that could be argued were never needed.Only after cannondale rep was brought in to assist in bleeding process did lockout work, but was bummed that every factory decal on my lefty fork was ripped and damaged.i received a 30$ in store credit for my inconvenience.I really struggled posting this but am still very upset with how i was treated and this was handled

2022-05-24Stop in here to see the cute pooches, made the experience even better. Another bike shop in traverse city that has been such a enjoyable experience. Becky, Matt, Kyle, and Travis helped put a good basket on and even moved my light to a new place. They went above and beyond. Had a horrific experience at a chain box store and these local bike shops are amazing. Such kind folks. Knowledgeable.

2022-07-23It was a simple service need, but they brought it in, inspected the problem, and had me out the door in 10min, on a Sat morning, for $10. It was great to see the 4 service guys checking out my E Assist bike, because it was a brand they werent familiar with. It showed that they are service pros, always learning! I will definitely be back if Im in the area.

2022-06-15Theres a reason this place is so highly rated, its because theyre wonderful people. My partner and I were on vacation and rented some electric bicycles from here to toodle around town and Joe and Harry hooked us up. Not just with bikes, helmets, and a lock, but a very comprehensive map of places to visit that we could easily bike to. They were also happy to make personal recommendations for a local brewery, places to see, and very friendly people in general.I wish they were located where I live.

2022-06-24This place is really cool! So why give it 3 stars? Read on to see. Let me start by saying that this is the biggest and baddest bike shop Ive ever seen. If I lived in the area, Id stay for longer just to browse. 2 cute pups greet you at the door and its a nice environment. We were camping nearby and rented some bikes for my parents, my kids, and myself. My mom kindly called ahead and reserved bikes for everyone, but once I realized that I called back to ask if I could get a tandem bike for myself and my 6yo instead of the kids bike that my mom had reserved, because I didnt think my daughter would have the stamina to go for 4 hours on her own. They kindly said they did have a tandem bike that should work for her size. So I requested to reserve a tandem but have a kids bike just in case the tandem didnt fit my daughter. When we got there they still had us down for an extra bike which we didnt end up needing because the tandem worked for my daughter. As my mom was paying the bill, she felt that she had been rung up incorrectly because she thought she should be getting $20 back after all was said and done. But the gentleman with a ponytail that helped us said it was only $10 because they dont like to make changes to reservations the day of. My mom was trying to work it out and understand why she wasnt getting the full amount back but Crabby McCrabber pants could not be bothered to explain the charges to her, stating that he was really confused with the changes we made and that he didnt want to Stand around and do math all day. So she could take the $10 credit or leave it. I was pretty shocked that he would talk to a customer like that instead of taking the time to help her understand, or understand himself what was happening. My mom kept her cool and took her $10 and we went on to have a really nice ride. I dont know if there are multiple trails to take but we did not care for the trail that goes along the waterfront because after a few miles you end up riding along a busy street very close to traffic. That was hard for us riding with a 4 year old as well, so we turned around and went back the way we came. I wish the path had been a more rural trail in nature, but overall it was a nice experience. Im sure I would be able to give 4 stars if Mr. Crabby pants had been in a better mood. In the end, this place is definitely worth a stop and a must see if your a biker!

2022-07-15Visiting Traverse City and needed a quick bike repair. Although it was a very busy time the owner was pleasant and serviced my bike on the spot; I even offered to pick up later in the day but he wanted me to have my bike all day and repaired it immediately.Highly recommend brickwheels if you need to rent or repair a bike.
