Have never been let down when eating there. I do love their Taproom Signature Burger, I add their thick bacon though. Those fresh jalapeños are yummy. Great variety of beer 🍺 and cider and everyone that works there has always been friendly and fun to talk to. Highly recommended!😎
Sat down at the bar in front of taps. Bartender did everything but look at me and ask what I wanted. Instead, he was BSing with other customers, employees, etc. I finally got his attention and he smugly poured and sat the beer in front of me without saying a word. I observed the servers arguing among themselves without regard to customer seeing or hearing them. Clearly, no one is managing this place. The setting for this place is the best in Charlevoix - I have been here multiple times ( for the view) but it is always the same, poor service. This business does not deserve this location. They would be out of business in a month if it were not for the location.
During our 3-day visit to Charlevoix, this is the only place we visited twice. Their beer selection was too great not to come back! Both times we were there we enjoyed our experience a lot. Their mussels were spectacular with garlic butter seasoning. They have a great view by the window, too. Will definitely come back if were in town again during summer!
A nice atmosphere in a small hidden location. Probably only a dozen tables. The entrance is on the side of the building not on the main street and the sign blends in.Their Menu Does Not match their Online Menu. Grrrrrrr.I ordered their Sweet Chili Wings as an appetizer. They were really really good. I especially like the sauce. It was top notch yummy. I would buy that sauce. I wish I had ordered more than I did. For my main meal I wanted to order Goulash. Apparently theyve changed their menu and couldnt bother to update their website. So they no longer had Goulash. So I went with my second choice Smoked Pork Chops. Here was another change. Online menu had an apple butter on pork chop, new menu has a cherry sauce. Highly disappointing. The pork chop tasted like ham. Yes same animal but not the same thing. If I wanted ham I would order ham. To top it off the cherry sauce was not good. It came with Mac n Cheese that was good, but nothing special. The service was very good, so they get props for that.Overall I can only give 3 stars. Wings are Great, but main meal bad. Hidden location but good service. Plus 1 full point off for failure to keep website current. Would I go back? For wing, yes. For main meal, ehhhh toss up.
Good experience overall. Very small place. They dont have a wait-list which sucks, so when its busy you just have to stand by the door which is really lame.I had the shrimp curry which would have been delicious if it wasnt so spicy. I wish the menu or bartender would have mentioned how spicy it was. We werent able to eat it.The pork chop was yummy and juicy and the Mac and cheese was too!The bartender was friendly and fast given it was Saturday night and very busy.
We ate the best mussels in the US. The sauce is awesome. Loved to take a container of it home right away. The waitress was also very good and gave a very good wine recommendation and the wine was very good!Too bad we live a little further away but this restaurant is a must go!!!
This was a nice surprise as it is late in season and many places were closed. This place was great!!!The wine was very reasonable, the salad was fresh and great and the burgers were yummy. We were greeted right away in a very friendly manner and our waitress treated us as if she knew us for years. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thanks !!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed the food, menu offered some great choices, one big negative, and this is based on now 2 years in a row (we visit up north every summer from Florida......the service is awful, long long wait for our food BOTH years. Dont understand, wasnt that crowded. Rating would be much higher with better service
A weird visit for sure. Ultimately, it came down to the kitchen. I had, perhaps, the best bacon burger of my life, while my wife suffered a totally over cooked and then blue rare steak, which really hindered our date. Drinks were great with a ton of options. Host and bartender were very friendly and apologetic on the kitchens behalf. We got a discount without having to ask about it, which was very professional. We will be back.
Decent amount of taps but a lot were out unfortunately. Also, I think they should have some options from Charlevoix Brewing. The brewery was closed when we came to visit the area and would have loved to have one from them still. Food is great here, although I didnt have anything on this visit. I still highly suggest this spot and appreciate the great service
The staff was friendly and helpful. We had to wait in line for a table. We sat on the patio with our dog and enjoyed a nice view of the lake. I had the Chipotle black bean burger and it was tasty. Our waitress recommended adding some Sriracha aoli and that was an excellent suggestion.
The food was fine and beer selection was great. However, after waiting 90 minutes for a “35 minute” wait, while seeing parties go right in after being told we were next in line for about 40 minutes, the food was fine but the service was terrible. Food took over 30 min to come out and we had to wave down a waiter for drink refills and even napkins. Would not recommend coming here unless you really like beer
My entire family came outside with our beers and expressed how disappointed they were in their service. I went in to talk to the manager who was not in. I spoke to one of the female waitresses about the bartender. She was very kind and supportive which I greatly appreciated. Then the male waiter came up wanting to know what was up. He was horrible, sarcastic and laughed my concerns off. Very poor customer service . Will not be returning
Large selection of craft beers, all on tap. Grab a flight and explore what Michigan has to bring to your glass. Its actually conveniently located downtown Charlevoix with a beautiful view of Lake Charlevoix. Grab that drink, walk down the channel, take them photos, find you some food, grab another drink and enjoy the beautiful town of Charlevoix.Unfortunately they dont have car stickers or vinyl decals, otherwise I would have loved to dec out my Subaru with a sticker or two.
Food was way overpriced and awful. Walleye and Mac & Cheese were bland. Eveything in the seafood pasta had its shell on and was bland. The food tasted like something you would find at a bad chain restaurant. We got our table at 8:19pm and got our food an hour later. Would never recommend this place to anyone.
We were here visiting and thought we would try the pub out! When we showed up we asked the wait for outside and were told it would be about 25-35 minutes. After waiting an hour we then asked again and were told we were next. We were seated after 1 hour and 20 minutes. When the waitress came up she asked how she “could help us” we immediately put our order in because we were starving! It took 45 minutes to get 6 pub pretzels which were good and then a little over an hour to get our food. The waitress never once came over to apologize about the wait or anything. The salmon was literally a small piece of salmon on some rice with a small amount of salsa and weird beans(not mixed vegetables like stated) there was tomatoes in a Cesar salad which was a first for us! I understand being understaffed and busy especially during these times but this is not a place we will return back to!
Were locals so Ive been in tons of times. I was a bit disappointed that i ordered one of my favorites.. (not heart healthy but yummy) a mac and cheese sandwich. Its served with Mikes mustard( another Charlevoix original, which I love!).. This time it didnt have much mustard on it. I asked for a little bit more. The bill came and they charged me $1 for more mustard on my sandwich. Im not going to stop going but I spent $60 for two sandwiches and 2 beers apiece. It kinda bummed me out.. we try to support local businesses.
We ordered the tuna sushi bowl and tuna appetizer. Tuna was not fresh and has a bad aftertaste. Apparently the fish was previously frozen. Gross. Waiter would not remove from check either meal. Offered a 2.00 discount and said manager was not in. Disappointing experience after a 45 minute wait.
Went here one night and had a beer and it was great, the patio is nice and the beers are fairly priced. Went there again the next night for dinner and it wasnt so great. I ordered the hummus and veggie wrap. The menu says hummus, seasoned veggies, and mixed greens. Apparently the seasoned veggies is just raw cabbage. Definitely not worth $12 for some cabbage and lettuce in a tortilla. I asked about dairy in certain items and ordered the pretzel appetizer and it came out with butter on it. When I asked about it, the server didnt do anything so I still ended up paying for food that I could not even eat. I understand mistakes happen all the time in restaurants, but they staff didnt try to make it right. Just bad costumer service.
Went there for lunch on a Tuesday, must have been a bad day. There were two sets of people in front of us waiting at the designated area outside for seating. The first couple gave up after 15 min when nobody came out to greet them, the second couple waited another five minuets before leaving and we waited about five minutes more before leaving. There were folks on the outside porch area at tables but we didnt see any waitstaff. It would have been nice if they could have just greeted us and acknowledged we were there. We went down to the Villager Pub where we were greeted, seated and had a nice lunch.
Happy with the experience. Nice small place to grab a drink and some good food. Great beer list and good menu options. Staff was nice and place was clean. I had the salmon, which was pretty good. My wife had the olive burger, which she said was good.Overall, good experience and we would definitely come again. We wanted somewhere casual to have some dinner and drinks, this place fit the bill.
Very cool little spot!! We were up for the weekend and stopped in a couple times - it was that good. Excellent, well-rounded beer selection!! Very happy with the food. The buffalo wing sauce has a ton of flavors layered throughout, not just cayenne and vinegar. House-made Bleu cheese...out of this world! Laid back atmosphere. Highly recommend this place. Take a drive and check it out.
Very disappointed with the service here. The beer guy had no interest in helping us. We came in as a group of 4, and he forced us to pay on one tab because he didnt want to deal with splitting them up, even though there was no one else at the bar. He didnt know their menu and refused to give recommendation. Appalled by the attitude he had towards the customers coming in.
Everything we ordered was great. The view of the lake was great. They are known for having alot of different types of beer which they did and it was good but, the reason I give them a 4 is because they were out of the beer we wanted. If youre known for your beer you shouldnt be running out of your most popular beer.
Service was excellent and really what made our visit (Alex was our server). Beer selection is solid and sure to please any beer lover. Food is good but Id like to see it improve for the price. We ordered the walleye, which was good but not great--$18 meal at best--not $24, the pork chop, which was very good and the grilled mac and cheese, which was just ok. Well definitely come back and Im hopeful that the food price comes down a bit or the flavor improves. Theyre really close to a 5 star review and improving their food game would make that possible.
We really enjoy the food and the staff. We hang here several times a year, usually on Wednesday afternoons. The food is unique and tasty. The staff friendly and talkative. We have had the brisket nachos, brisket sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, Carolina chicken sandwich, chicken salad wrap, pizzas, and breaded beef cutlet over pasta, on Italian night. All of these were good, but the brisket dishes are excellent. They do have a limited selection of spirits and ciders, with a large selection of wine and beers on tap. Of all our visits we have only one mediocre experience. We think our server was just having a bad night, as on more recent visits their service was much better. We usually go in the afternoon, when it is slower. On the weekends it is much busier and sometimes has entertainment. Check it out, we think you will enjoy yourselves.
We had a great waiter. Despite walking up at dinner time in the middle of the Venetian festival, they found us a table right away. They accommodated our little one well, despite it being a tap room without a kids menu. The food was great. The view of the harbor was a nice perk. The only down side was it was quite noisy.
I have a huge crush on the staff here. Such fun, mellow, friendly, completely human humans. The beer menu is extensive, theres definitely something for everyone here. Lots of options! They also have a great food menu, lots of high quality deliciousness to choose from. Its a treat to take pause here in the afternoon.Great location, too. Down near the bridge, with outdoor seating available and also an interior thats rich with windows and natural light.Love this place and the humans behind it.
Always outstanding food and service. I come through town for work on occasion and this is a place I HAVE to stop at every time. The ahi tuna bowl is out of this world. I have yet to order anything that dose not taste great. And the service is always on point and very polite
Cool place tucked in with great views and tons of craft beer choices. The menu is very gourmet and well thought out. I had the brisket nachos and they were ahhhmazing! Also tried the housemade twisted pretzels with jalapeno beer cheese. Scrumptious!! Highly recommend
Food was good but pricy to be expected from tap bar. Hard to say if selection was good being that half were out!! Waitress was nice fun and accommodating, bartender not so much, condescending maybe due to embarrassment about selection or my desire for less complex beer.
After reading the reviews, I am disappointed with our experience. Before I start though, I do have to point out our server was the best part of our experience- he was the only one working the patio and took care of every table well. Our wait was long, but that was to be expected because they were busy. When we did finally receive our food, the brisket nachos (both orders) where burnt on top and the cheese was rubbery from the burn. After we were told multiple times to try the brisket, we were really disappointed to find that there wasn’t a lot of brisket and most of it was burned into the cheese. The kitchen forgot a dish as well- insert our server though- he took care of it as soon as he could, but it came out wrong.I would give them a second chance for the sole reason of the level of service we received from our waiter.
Good first impression. Seated quickly. Food came out timely and was good.....but never saw the waiter again. Drinks empty...waited for check..nope....wife went outside....saw waiter trying to seat others...but he couldnt cause we were still waiting for our check. Asked for check...nope...went to other table. Observed waiter struggling with computer...one other waiter and one bartender. Waitstaff seemed frazzled.
Excellent meal every visit, with solid options from starters (try the cheesy bread) to entrees (stuffed portobellos top my list) and even desserts (chocolate stout cheesecake!). Plus, a lovely selection of rotating craft beers. Its a little tight inside, but worth the wait if needed.
Decent selection of beer, food was good (pan seared scallops in curry sauce) curry was way too spicy for scallops and the rice. Kinda destroyed the flavor of the scallops all together. Music was horrendous (they had some techno stuff going on which simply doesnt for the atmosphere) Beer is priced good, a lot of dark beers (brown ales, porters, stouts) very minimum light bodied beers. All in all its a great place. Visiting during the fall so I bet this place is packed during the summer.
Delicious food, delicious beer. Many styles on tap. Bartender was friendly and helpful in selecting from the tap menu. Atmosphere was great that includes a picture window overlooking Round Lake. If you enjoy trying a wide selection of brews alongside tasty food, make this one of your stops.
Visited Charlevoix for the night and stopped at this cute Joint. The Service was incredible. Really nice staff. The bartender Mali was super tentative and friendly, the chefs were hospitable and made AMAZING food(Like to die for), The view was breath taking, and the beer selection included all Michigan Brewed beer(Nom). Also, the music put the cherry on top. 5 stars for sure. check it.
Alan was extremely accommodating and offered several tastes of what they had on tap when I couldn’t decide. He did not make it seem like an inconvenience at all. We frequent this place when we are in town for a few times a year and always receive friendly service. I enjoy the cheese bread appetizer and beer typically. One suggestion for future improvement that seems to be a theme in Charlevoix establishments: get a baby changing table in the men’s room. There’s room on the West wall and men change baby diapers too. This isn’t the 1950s anymore... even in Charlevoix. Be the change!
I actually hired a bartender here for my wedding at Castle Farms and she was absolutely wonderful. She laughed and talked and had a great time with my crazy family and it was nice that she joined us in the fun. She was so easy to get along with. And it was so easy to find them and hire them as a vendor. They got back to me right away and were simple to work with. Thanks guys!
We came here two years ago while waiting for the ferry and had a great time, however that was not the case this time. From the beginning the bartender (in a Boston hat) was very rude and uninviting. Then, after we ordered our beers we watched the bartender poured them and sit them on a ledge on the wall behind the bar - only to have them sit there for the longest time before the waitress would finally remember to look for them and bring them to our table. Just watching the staff was frustrating as everything was so disorganized - and it wasnt even that busy. We never felt welcomed there this time, so needless to say we will not be going back there on our next trip to Charlevoix.
Every bit a two star experience. Not sure how they stay open. I would ONLY ever come here again for a quick Bloody Mary because that was delish. The service was a teenager(?) who seemed completely uninterested in our comfort or needs, didnt refill our drinks until we sat empty for a very long while, and was out of touch with the amount of time it was taking for us to get two simple sandwiches to our table. I then had to get up and inquire about my tab at the register. Very poor service and there was an entire hair in my over-mayonaised sandwich.
My wife and I took a Christmas ride today and had the luck of finding the Bridge Tap Room open.Met a wonderful young Coast Guardsman at the bar (God bless them all) Great Ale and Cheddar soup and nachos with ultra thin sliced brisket.Trying the winning 2018 chili on the next visit. So friendly, perfect afternoon.Thanks.Brent & Alice Nichols (old troopers)
Used to love the food at the Tap Room. Went today and ordered the Nachos (served luke warm, cheese not melted) and Parmesan Grinder. It was served on sourdough bread, not the Hero role the menu said. Chicken was cold, cheese not melted and barely any sauce. Big disappointment. Really hard to eat bc sourdough bread has holes throughout so the little sauce it did have on it, came through the bread. Really messy to eat. Totally wrong bread substitute. If your going to change a menu item, tell the customer when they order it. Will only go for drinks from now on.
This is our 2nd trip to Charlevoix and our 3rd time at the Bridge Street Tap Room. The food is nicely prepared, with fresh ingredients. The craft beer selection well curated selections from Michigan. The staff are pleasant, but service is chaotic! They are 3 for 3 in turning a half hour wait for a low table (not a high top) into an ordeal. As the hostess remarked to us (after the table wed been waiting for was removed to make room for the evenings entertainment), I guess we dont communicate very well. At least she used correct grammar! Anyway, the view is lovely and we are patient people. If youre not, this might not be the best place for you during evening rush.
Server was quit bit efficient. ..the owner was counting money, doing his banking at the bar.....1:00pm......30 plus taps....great beer selection. .....great food selection. ....atmosphere. .....PATHETIC. .....NO MUSIC. ...TNT ON TV....YOU CAN HEAR ALL CONVERSATIONS......THE OWNER SHOULD BE FIRED.........I WOULD NEVER GO BACK. ......FOR A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR AREA, HE SHOULD BE ASHAMED. ......YOU SELL ALCOHOL NOT CEMETERY PLOTS
We will not return to this establishment. From the moment we walked in, we were ignored. No one greeted us or acknowledged that we were there. We sat down at a table and after about ten minutes of no service, I walked up to the bar to order for us. The bartender barely noticed me and I felt like I was asking way too much about the selections! A waitress never did approach our table and my boyfriend, again, had to go to the bar to order. We are from Petoskey and own a business plus I work for a radio station. Word of mouth advertising will not be good from this end. It is not worth the one star I had to give it.
Great food. Tried the Naan pizza and its great. Think of a fluffy, flat bread pizza. Over 30 beers on tap, most (if not all) from Michigan (my favorite from a flight was the Odd side ales bean flicker blonde). Great ambiance, great crowd. Great waitstaff (thanks Matt K!). Great dessert too (custom made - Raspberry Tortufo in a waffle bowl). Thanks! Would come back if back in Charlevoix.
The Bridge Street Tap Room is the best place to get a beer in Charlevoix. They have 32 taps that rotate delicious craft beer from all over Michigan. You wont find Budweiser or Guinness here. Instead try a beer brewed nearby like Soft Parade by Shorts Brewery in Belaire, MI, or a Final Absolution by Dragonmead Brewery in Warren, MI. The taproom is small enough to give off a warm and friendly vibe and the food is delicious. You can get full-entrees like stuffed chicken, burgers like the black and blue burger, or appetizers like the brisket nachos. They also have live entertainment throughout the summer. The servers and bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel at home with pleasant conversation. The small patio is also dog-friendly and there are beautiful views of round lake. I have stopped here several times around 10pm with friends to share a late night pizza and a night-cap. I recommend going during non-peak hours, when there wont be a long wait. If you happen to encounter a long wait, stop downstairs at the sister company Lake Charlevoix Brewing Company, where they have plenty of seating, a beautiful patio, and delicious beer brewed in-house.
This place was over priced and slow on food service, I had the walleye dinner and an ala carte dinner salad. They should be embarrassed at what they called a dinner salad, and my walleye was no bigger than a piece of perch. My companion had a steak which was not cooked to order, way over done. Her wine seamed to be short as well. I wont go back, tourist beware!!!!

2022-06-10We arrived on a beautiful sunny Thursday around 6pm and chose to sit outside. Abby was our excellent server. We ordered a burger, Richs grilled cheese, and a kids meal grilled cheese. All of the food was great. Cant beat the view of Round Lake, the great service, and great food. Highly recommend!

2022-01-11Great views to take in the sights and do some people watching. Staff is friendly and ready to help give suggestions. There is both indoor outdoor seating to assist if the day is a bit brisk. We enjoyed some appetizers and wine. Would definitely visit again.

2022-05-26Was working in charlevoix for the week, wish I had came here the whole week! Our bartender/ server was Aaron, and he was fantastic! Very prompt, plus had a great knowledge of their tap. 10/10 great food, great drinks! I highly recommend stopping by if you’re in town.

2021-08-19Overall good foodId say the brisket nachos are the best bang for your buck. Theres alot of food there and tasty too and could be a meal for one personGrilled chicken sandwich was delicious and was decent portionsWas disappointed in the pork chop. It was delicious but portions were measly. For me I wouldnt consider this a full meal. A couple green beans and a couple of noodles is a joke(mac & cheese had no flavor and neither did the green beans) . Not worth $21 in my opinionService was slow but there was a big crowd.

2022-06-24My family and I have been in this area for over 50 years. We frequently go to many retail shops and restaurants to help support this wonderful community!Today we were deeply disappointed with ordering something as simple as a pizza! I called and was abruptly interrupted and told that take out had to be done on line. I understand from an efficiency standpoint why this is done.I ordered a pizza for my mother and I. The pizza was the size of a frisbee for $13. There is a local gas station who’s pizza not only tastes better, but is better value. The pizza had good flavor, but was not worth the cost. I regularly pay $30+ for pizza in Chicago, and am happy to do so, as what you get is worth it!Business has been very challenging the last couple of years given the pandemic environment, and inflation is at an all time high. I understand recouping costs, but I’ve watched many businesses close doors.Value and customer service are the key to success in the environment we find ourselves in.

2022-06-16Wonderful place to eat in Charlevoix. We were in town for two nights and went here for dinner both nights. The curry is delicious. I loved the fish as well. The service was great both nights. They regularly rotate their beers. The selection was very good. Id highly recommend dining here.

2021-07-25Amazing customer service and amazing food! On my first visit, we oddly got the kettle chips instead of tortilla chips with the hummus, and it tasted great enough for me to ask for the same on the second visit! Grilled chicken sandwich, naan pizza with garlic herb oil and cheese, and cherry chicken wrap were also very delicious!! The Cheboygan Blood Orange Honey beer was very good. The second time I went, I was recommend by the bartender to try the Michigan Beach Blonde made in-house, it was very good, I ended up buying a growler to take home and share with friends! Great staff, great views, great food.

2022-06-27This place has terrible food and even worse service. We waited over an hour for our food. Once our food came, two of the items (grilled cheese and salmon) came back burned like they hadn’t cleaned the griddle in two weeks. It took 20 minutes to the get the servers attention because she was so busy. She finally took the food back. She brought the bill will everything fully charged. I told her that we were not going to pay For the burnt food. She said she had to talk to her manager about it. He came out and said that he would “discount” the meal. I told him we wouldn’t pay for it. To which the manager fought me about.First Of all, the food here is terrible. On top of it, the service and demeanor of the staff is atrocious. I would never eat here again and would never recommend it to anyone.Never even an apology from the manager or waitress. Just an expectation that I should’ve eaten or accepted and paid for burnt food that would’ve been subpar even if it wasn’t burnt.
