The coffee here was just ok. The bumble bee latte (I believe thatβs what it was called) had way too much flavoringβyou actually couldnβt taste any coffee notes at all. It was just sweet honey/lavender syrup flavor. Ton of ice in the drink, and I also had to wait forever for it. The girl working struck up a conversation with the person after me in line for several minutes which made everyone wait for their drinks and the people behind her in line had to wait even longer to order. I was hoping to be in and out rather quickly as I was on a road trip and just needed a quick caffeine hit, but it took me about 20/25 mins to get in and out. I just wasnβt impressed.
On vacation and needed wifi for a zoom meeting. Stopped in and had cafe mocha, cinnamon twist, blueberry muffin, and a to go honey lavender latte. Bathrooms were clean, staff was friendly, plenty of seating, and nice scenery. They also had outdoor seating and seating that looked over the Mill pond.
The place needs to have a better feel, the tables are out in the middle of a huge room with no partitions to make you feel a little more private, the concrete floors only aid in the harsh feel of this decent place to get coffee. The food selection is extremely limited to one muffin or a breakfast roll up.
Inside wasa poorly organized and messy seating area. Impossible to relax. Should not be called a theater at all. The woman that took our order was very rude loudly tapping on the table while we made our decision and made rude comments when I asked about their sandwich selection. I was nothing but nice the whole time, and there was no one behind us, no reason to treat first time customers like that. Regardless my teenage daughter still like their food.
WiFi: 12 mbs down 10 upload; seemed fasterPrinter: No;Seats: 40+, with small annex for more privacy;Outlets: 0.25 outlets per seat, hard to find;Lighting: Bright, Natural Sunlight;Noise: quiet buzz; great for focus;Vanilla Late: $4.50Order pressure: none, very friendlyBeautiful coffee shop that moonlights as a small theater with live music on occasion. They had gluten free chocolate cake!!! It was wonderful! Spacious with a modern yet cozy industrial feel.
I enjoyed my visit today at the Brighton Coffee House and Theater. Its often referred to as the BCAT by locals. The space is very inviting with lots of tables to sit and enjoy coffee. They have low table and chairs, high tables and chairs, bar stools and comfy chairs such as couches and recliners. They have tables located close to outlets in case you need to charge computers or other technological devices. The BCAT has free wi-fi which makes it the perfect place to work on school work, projects or actual business work. The space is kept very clean as well as the onsite bathrooms which are kept stocked with the bathroom essentials. It has a few larger tables that a group could meet to work on projects or a group of friends that could just hang out to do homework together. They have a wide selection of both cold and hot coffees, teas and smoothies. I ordered a latte which was served in a nice coffee cup. They also have to go cups in case you are just stopping in to take something with you. They offer different kinds of milks such as almond and oat, as well as traditional milk. They have flavorings to add to your lattes. They are keeping up with the new trend of saving plastic by offering paper straws. They have a wide variety of baked goods for sale also. They offer lunch like sandwiches, soups and salads. They employ a baker who is dedicated to offering scrumptious yet healthy muffins and cookies using a variety of flours and also gluten free options. They staff is very friendly and knowledgeable and also willing to accommodate any requests. I personally have an allergy to nuts and they were careful to not cross contaminate my order. They even have a private menu that just the locals would know of. My mom orders the cafe Miele which is a coffee, steamed milk with cinnamon and honey added to it. If you have time to explore, they have an extra room that is upstairs for a quieter setting that overlooks the millpond. They have special events and those can be accessed on the website. They often host comedians, and theatrical plays. They have had musical groups perform as well as individual musicians which makes the space great for a friday night out. Some of these advance tickets are required but some are just walkin. They often have local talent featured. The building itself has been in brighton for a long time. Itβs a beautiful brick exterior that was the home to other businesses such as a book-store and clothing stores. The owners of the coffee shop are residents of Brighton and are providing such an enjoyable space for Brightons residents and visitors. People have been known to drive from other towns just to hang out and enjoy the great coffee and wonderful atmosphere the BCAT has to offer. Itβs centrally located in downtown Brighton near the Millpond, an iconic location to Brighton. The parking is out front on the mainstreet as well as some dedicated parking to customers of the BCAT that are behind the BCAT. As most people who live in Brighton know our town is pretty busy and parking can be a challenge. During the winter it is easier to find parking behind the coffee house because the imagination station isnβt used much during the winter months. Either way wherever you find parking it is worth a short walk for such a great establishment. I would 100% recommend the BCAT to anyone looking for a good coffee place in Brighton.
Ok place. Nothing amazing, nothing really bad. Ill take it over Starbucks any day. The coffee is mostly made by teens joking and playing around. You ask for cappuccino and get a latte. Come the 2nd time ask for a dry cappuccino and still get a latte. If you like lattes, Im sure you will get one no matter what you order.
I came for some Feel Better Tea to enjoy while listening to the Open Mic night. The collection of artists was varied - in age, style, voice, experience - but all quite enjoyable. It is clear they have built up a community of performers, but also that these performers are welcoming of others. The sense of camaraderie was evident. Children and adults were there to enjoy and support a family member or friend, and it was an enjoyable night. I had no idea how many songwriters we have in the Brighton area! (Artists performed covers and some original works.)
New place I had to try. It is huge, not too busy (but it will be) and comfortable. The wait-staff were very nice and hospitable. They have a very pleasant atmosphere with a ton of comfortable seating, a fireplace and planned live music tonight. I think this will turn into a regular weekend thing for me.
This was a relaxing and comfortable place to relax, especially for people who dont want to go to a bar. There was live music the night of my visit and I enjoyed it along with a really good pot of tea. They have an ample selection of high quality loose leaf teas to choose from and it was enough for two people. Such a nice place!
This is the PERFECT place. Its hard to believe its only been open for a couple weeks. The service is wonderful, the owners are here everyday and are very kind people. The coffee and treats are delicious and affordable. It is a great place for community interaction, with quiet places to study. They in a convenient spot in downtown Brighton, have reliable wifi and great lighting. The atmosphere is cozy and friendly! I would recommend the coffee house for get fun time and quiet time! Im looking forward to spending more time here.
I really cant think of much if anything to improve this place. More menu variety would always be nice, but for what the location is its absolutely fantastic.Super cozy, relaxed chill atmosphere with usually at least a few people reading or working inside. Tasty and reasonably priced drinks all served to you by some very polite people. And their AC is delightful to walk into from 80Β° weather, though that may just be my weakness to the heat.
It is overpriced but everything made right in front of you and SOOOO good. Lots of good flavors to choose from and seasonal/monthly flavors. Straws are biodegradable so good for environment but disintegrate with your drink so you get soggy straws and smaller holes. Indoor and outdoor seating. Nice ambiance. Right on millpond. Stage with piano for entertainment inside. Games and books available to use while there. A quieter upstairs if you want, with a gorgeous view. Staff is always very friendly. Set up is a little strange (the straws, napkins, etc. are on a different table in strange containers). Only 1 trashcan inside and 1 outside. They do have parking around back, though, so if you dont want to parallel park on main drag you dont have to. I love this place. They make vegan and gluten free food and will take requests.
Im honestly tempted to move to Brighton just to be closer to this coffeehouse. It has a wonderful, warm, welcoming environment and some of the friendliest staff Ive ever encountered. The chai is my go-to drink, but everything Ive tasted (from pastries to drip coffee) gets added to my favorites. If youre in the area or just looking for a good place to take a break and caffeinate, this is it. You wont be disappointed.
I love this place. They have good drinks, phenomenal sandwiches (named after Shakespeare characters, which is nerdy and perfect), and a fun vibe. Theres a ton of seating, some comfy chairs, other tables, lots of natural light, and a beautiful outdoor patio right next to the Mill Pond.
The most recent trip, we enjoyed the spacious, nicely decorated, outdoor patio. Seating allowed an unobstructed view of the millpond just the other side of the sidewalk from us (20 away). Good food and service, great outdoor experience. Friends and I will remember it.
I wish the owner hadnβt interrupted my work conference call, so embarrassing. She could see / hear I was talking on the phone but chose to loudly and impolitely interrupt without sufficient warning so that I could mute the call. I felt it was highly inappropriate. Could have been managed so much better. I am hopeful though that next time sheβll handle it more discretely. Perhaps she was having a bad day.
I was just in there today to get a coffee and croissant. The young lady at the counter was friendly. I had a child with special needs with me. I was getting a lid for my iced coffee since they did not put one on . The child I was with was looking at the open piano that was sitting there and touched a key. A woman stormed at us and yelled at my child. It was alarming. Definitely not a child friendly place. Will never return.
I really love the atmosphere of the Brighton Coffee House and theater. Its a lovely place to go and you can take your drinks outside and sit by the water. It really does feel a little bit like youre on vacation there because its just so pretty. I only gave them three stars because they dont offer heavy cream as an option and that leaves out a lot of the population thats just trying to get a nice coffee without adding a lot of sugar. So if youre eating keto or low carb, dont expect very many choices at all here.
Visited when staying with family for a week and loved it. Had the Chai Beet, which was a combination I hadnt seen before and was a fantastic drink. Didnt stay because of covid, but it looked like a cozy and welcoming place. Will definitely go again when Im in the area and hopefully be able to stick around inside.
The owners and staff are awesome people! Very kind, thoughtful, ready to please. They make everyone feel welcome. The coffee is amazing!!The coffee house itself is so inviting. Large windows let in natural light, reflecting off the classic coffee bar area. There are many tables to enjoy your cuppa in this intimate and relaxed setting. And even when most tables are filled there is still an open feeling instead of the typical crowded coffee house feel. They add so much more than just a wonderful coffee shop to our town. Every time I go I leave feeling so blessed.
Cold brew is awesome, pour over coffee is worth the wait. Lattes, cappuccino, and specialty drinks are spot on, better than overpriced Starbucks. The owners, I think a married couple, are there frequently and they really care about the business. Attentive, friendly and hard-working staff. We go there multiple times a week. Highly recommended.
After only a few visits to this wonderful establishment, I fell in love! Whether the coffee, food and specialty drinks, atmosphere or staff - this is the place to be. Great venue including outdoor patio and indoor seating with a more private section if needed. They offer books to read and games to play if you choose; along with a piano and stage to perform. Ive heard they do open mic nights, live music and plays - cant wait for things to start back up! Im in here at least twice a week!
They need to train their staff how to make basic coffee drinks. I ordered cappuccino, it was more like milk with a touch of coffee and the temperature of the drink was just warm. This is a real disappointment. I will give them one more chance before never again.BTW, I had the drink yesterday Saturday at 6 pm. .... in case the manager needs to know the working staff at that timeThe guy that was working their had the mask below his nose.... come on ?!?! .... COVID-19The girl had the mask correct.
Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. I love the atmosphere of comfortable Brighton living. Every time I walk in I feel like I am home even if I do not know another person there. I love their homemade baked goods. My office just moved to downtown Brighton and I am sure I will be going to Brighton Coffee House all the time.
This place has become my new happy place. Its my favorite spot in Brighton to work remotely, for so many reasons: The staff is so incredibly warm and accommodating, the food and drinks are great, the ambiance is just right (tons of natural light, a great patio out back overlooking the pond, and a fireplace inside for cold/wintry weather), and the WiFi never falters -- essential these days. :) Really great clientele, too; everyone is so friendly. Ive not yet checked out any of the performances here, but I look forward to doing so. Kudos to the owners for making such a magical community space for this town.
This is a comfortable place to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee. They do have entertainment at times, as of yet I havent been able to appreciate some of the local talent. They have plenty of seating and have an upper level. BCH has some great bakery and other items to accompany youre coffee or tea including some gluten free muffins. They are priced a bit on the high side is why I gave four starts instead of five.
This is everything a coffee house should be! There is a small quieter area if you need to focus and a large space with a stage for their local performances. The passion for coffee was obviously present in the staff. They had pour over coffee, cold brew drip coffee brewing, specialty drinks, gourmet tea, baked goods and sandwiches. Most of all the had a welcoming environment, one of the owners was working and knew about 70 percent of the people that walked in and she provided them with personal recommendations based on their previous orders. I will definitely be returning on a regular basis.
Best coffee in town hands down. Im thrilled they are so ideally located. They fresh roast & grind on site, make amazing pour-over, French Press & cold brew (seasonal), as well as espresso drinks and regular drip brew coffee. The service is outstanding and the atmosphere is warm & eclectic.
This place is so amazing! Everyone is so nice, and the coffee is amazing. And best of all, I dropped my phone in the pond and one of the owners was nice enough to actually go home, get his swimming trunks on, and get into the water to get it! And, he even put it in a little bag of rice for me :)I will be going more often, and you should too!
Finally! A proper coffee shop in downtown Brighton. The location is great, with spacious seating. They are roasting their own beans (and seem to know what theyre doing), offer espresso, pour-over, french press, cold brew, etc. Havent tried the food, but the coffee is great. My one complaint is they need proper menus/signage. The chalkboard reads they have soups, salads, and sandwiches. Great, which ones? When I ask for a pour-over, Im asked if I want light, medium, or dark? Upon asking if they have single-origin Im told there is a map on the far wall with descriptions. A simple list of beans available on a chalkboard would be fine and I can read a map for more info if I want. All in all, great soft opening. Looking forward to what happens next for them.
Super friendly staff, very relaxing atmosphere, and great soups, salads, and sandwiches, as well as to-die-for baked goods. Plus, BCAT is almost always open, which makes it super easy to plan a visit or go last-minute. Five stars! I love this coffee house and all the friends Iβve invited love it too!
I love this place and want to support their business. But my husband and I went in this week and only one employee was wearing a mask; at the payment spot. Those preparing our drinks were not, and customers were milling around without them, too and making no effort to distance. So, sadly, we will not return until COVID is gone.
Amy and Markus are so friendly and always willing to listen about whatever it is I decide to blab about. The place is clean and the coffee is never bad. Some days I dont get much and theyre fine with that. When I need a recommendation theyre there. Brighton has needed a place like this for a while now and I think its the breath of fresh air this city needed. On a personal note, I like this place WAY better than Two Brothers Coffee. That place has very not good coffee (decent food and amazing lemonade though).
Best coffee in Brighton, I especially like the pout over with custom on site roasted beans. They alway have several beans in jars for you to sniff and examine. A real coffee shop experience, complete offerings exceptional coffee outstanding food which in my humble opinion are difficult to find together. Brighton Coffee House and Theater is an exception. Quality Theater and performance put this place over the top, I thought I was in New York with Trees and quite friendly midwestern charm
I have been here twice now, the first time my mocha lacked flavor and what flavor it did have was too... bitter? Or maybe acidic? Its hard to label. On my second visit I ordered an iced Americano, and was really bracing myself for that to over the top bitter/acidic, but to my surprise it was relly good. Ill give it a few more tries and see if my review needs to be updated.
This was a quite large and very pleasant Coffee House. The interior was unique even for coffee houses and they have several rooms off to the side filled with upholstered furniture overlooking the water in downtown Brighton. One of the nicest places Ive ever been. The folks Manning the coffee counter were very pleasant and helpful and I had the most delicious piece of carrot cake that Ive had in years. The Wi-Fi is also a cut above the average when it comes to coffee houses and their Wi-Fi setups. I would definitely recommend this for anybody who happens to be in the town of Brighton and wants a desert and or a cup of very good coffee.
Awesome brah!I really enjoy this place. Customer service is always spot on and the drinks, sandwiches, and other onsite made baked treats are always a delight.Ok end of review, now coffee soap box.Brighton Coffee House is Brightons only coffee shop that fine tunes their espresso and roasted beans. Not only do they roast onsite, theres an art to dialing in espresso. What the heck does this mean?A professional espresso shot is a combination of the grind, the water, the temperature, the time and weight of the drip, and the bean. Any minute change to any of these factors can wildly swing the taste and texture of your espresso. Your niche coffee shops are some of the only places youll find this level of craft and we should be lucky to have such an establishment in Brighton.Starbucks, as an example, uses a bean roast thats burnt, a generic grind, and automated process. This is how they ensure a consistent flavor from stop to stop. Also why most all of their drinks mask the flavor with syrups and sugar. Try a straight espresso shot from starbucks and at least to me, its not a pleasant experience. A straight shot from a niche coffee shop that dials in their grand will produce a shot that varies naturally from nutty and earthy to fruity to a vast array of other tastes and textures.End of soap box.
Too expensive for the long wait. Its Star Bucks for the parents & grandparents of the kids who hang out at Star Bucks. Dont get me wrong... the veggie sandwiches are a work of art and the personnel are great but the coffes are too too expensive. The coffee quality is average but it is fun meditating on the front patio..prime real estate. And it is crowded on the patio. The patrons do spend the entire afternoon there. I should know since Im one. Haha thats the only the high school crowd csn afford the coffee. Thanks for listening. BTW Ive been there x3 for a full review. Ciaot
Vert nice ambience, staff is helpful and their coffee is a good roast. However, they need to up their game and set themselves apart from every other coffee place in Livingston County. How? Staff needs to learn basic and advanced latte art for a beautiful finish every time. Also, their milk pour is full of bubbles and comes out as foam, rather than a fine, frothy finish with a texture of soft meringue. This takes practice but provides a superior cup of coffee and a memorable experience. All staff should attend a barista school and learn the tricks of good latte art. There are classes for certification around Michigan and/or many good You Tube videos to learn these tricks. Great location and nice addition to the downtown scene in Brighton.
Went to watch Frozen Jr that was supposed to start at 6pm. 5 minutes before we were told itd start at 6:30pm. How do you kill time with two 4 year olds in a coffee house with sugar cookies the size of an oreo that cost $1.75? I asked how long the performance would be, and was assured 1 hour. Finally at 6:50pm it started and lasted 10 minutes (3 songs). No apologies given by management. It was a disorganized event. Very disappointed.
I love coming here for a chai tea latte during the week, but unfortunately they skimp on making them on their busier show nights. They are premade in a big carafe and just taste watered down and not even chai flavored. Its disappointing for someone like me who is a tea drinker, not a coffee drinker

2022-05-20What a delightful coffee shop! Brighton Coffee House has outstanding coffee, tasty treats, and a few more substantial choices like sandwiches. Youll find service is friendly, with helpful employees who answer questions with a smile. The homey, inviting seating area with couches, as well as tables and chairs, is perfect for socializing or quietly studying. Theres also an awesome patio overlooking the water, complete with the serene sound of a fountain. Add to that the outstanding location in the fabulous downtown Brighton, and you have a destination worth visiting time and again.

2022-02-07Everything is incredible here. I love the building, the environment, the drinks, and the staff is awesome. The last few times I have been here, they are having a great time behind the counter and make you feel so welcome. There is also a back room that is quieter if you would like to go get some work done. Love it here! Great experiences every time π

2022-03-01My coworkers and I all agree this place is the BEST coffeehouse weve been to.The atmosphere is very cozy and well designed. I love the building and that it is also part of a theater. So unique. There are many nice places to sit and I love coming here just to study or journal or even get lost in thought for a bit.The food is wonderful. They sell more than just basic pastry things one would see at a lot of coffee shops if youre looking for more sustenance. That being said, their pastries are amazing. They also sell Vegan + Gluten Free muffins that are the best things Ive ever tasted... and Im not a sweets person. The coffee is also absolutely divine. Some of the best coffee Ive ever tasted. I could drink it plain because the flavor is so nice. Thankfully they sell bags of it too.If youre in town, a coffee or even a tea or smoothie from this place would definitely enrich your experience.

2021-08-27Great service! The lattes are pure art & the staff behind the counter made us feel right at home. I highly recommend a pour over if its your first time in. Im bias for a good mocha latte though! Either way you cant go wrong.

2021-12-30Cute coffee shop with salads, soups, and sandwiches, as well as a variety of hot and cold drinks. Service was reasonably quick considering how busy they were during the holiday rush.

2022-05-31This place drips friendliness and coziness. Hungry? The sandwiches here are nicely portioned and always delicious, - a good value. The variety of drinks here mean there should be something for everybody. The coffee has always tasted fresh and unburnt. When your order comes out, enjoy their seating area in the back right next to the Mill Pond if the weather is cooperating.

2022-03-11Fantastic coffee shop with many options for coffee and food. Their espresso and black coffee were phenomenal. They have a lively atmosphere and stay very populated but itβs an excellent place to study (if you can deal with some noise) or stay in to have a coffee. Great location right downtown Brighton. Excellent service as well!

2022-03-13I come here so much with my friends. It is the prefect place to just chill and enjoy time with other people. The atmosphere is so calming and the restaurant is filled with cute seating and tables! I love all their drinks and food (especially the muffins) I would totally recommend it to anyone looking for a place to study downtown or find a good place to eat or drink coffee.
