Comment: Will never use this service with this company again. Especially at this location. When I picked up the vehicle is was dirty inside and out. Had stains on the front and back seats. Was dusty and crumbs in it. They had a sign up that there was a $250 fee if the vehicle was returned real dirty yet gave me a vehicle that wasn’t even clean out, it still had the previous customers agreement still inside. On top of that when returning the vehicle they charged my card an additional $502.55 for whatever reason $265 of that was just random fees like one being and energy fee not even sure what that is cause it WAS NOT an electric car. Was filled fueled right before drop off so none of the fees could have been gas cost. The lady that helped me out when I picked it up was not friendly didn’t give me any information and on top of all that tried to charge me for the insurance and didn’t tell me or ask me about it, which I didn’t use cause I had my own and gave it to her. There were so many problems with the service here and the pricing. I would rather pay more going some where else and not hit with a surprised bill and additional fees after using. The pictures I left with this review were all from a recording I took when I picked up the vehicle. The recording shows more but for me was a lil different to get better screenshots of.

Comment: Won’t ever rent from Budget rental again. I rented a vehicle for two days. I returned the vehicle a day early and still charged for two days. I was told they charge for a complete 24 hours, so one day and bourse after the 24 hours I’m charged another full day. I used to rent from them consistently for work. They just lost a customer. I hope their $58 was worth it.

Comment: Taking trip abroad and needed to rent one-way cars to and from Visalia to LAX. First car I picked up the AC did not work and was dirty. Second car I picked up I left the lot and within 5 miles the low-pressure tire warning came on. I also realized by that time the window was cracked. I raced back and the store was closed exactly at 5:00 PM. I called Budget Roadside Assistance in the morning and they told me to air up the tire (BTW there was no spare and the air pump was missing) and get to Bakersfield where a replacement would be waiting. Also had to completely clean the car myself because the windows were filthy, there was spilled coffee inside and it just needed to be cleaned. We pulled into Bakersfield and the attendant told us the did not have any vans nor were called by roadside assistance. Because we had to catch a flight, we had to risk it. We did make it into LAX and the tire held, but the stress and risk simply should have been attended to by Budget. Our rental car back from LAX was again filthy and the brakes were literally grinding and making horrible noises. When I turned it in to Visalia, I explained everything that happened to and from and all the person did was chuckle and say sorry. Just a warning to anyone that rents from Budget, and specifically the Visalia location, the vehicles are not well maintained and you are at risk. If you have an issue out on the road, buyer beware, that the roadside assistance is ridiculous. If you are taking a family trip like I was, dont trust budget with your family, go with one of the other competitors, even if it costs a little more, your family and the potential for less stress is well worth it.

They stole our rental $52 fee and and $250 deposit and to top it off we never got tobrent the vehicle because of the lady at the counter racist remarks and discriminating ways . We will see the lady at the counter and Budget Auto Rental in court

Was two levels beneath the car class I reserved.2.Had been in an accident!I went to the Visalia location to change cars. They did allow me to change but they werent happy about it, and made it known. And despite renting me a car that was not the one i reserved and which had been an accident ...and then wasting over an hour and a 1/2 of my time exchanging in the car I got no price break on the cost of the rental. They still charged me for a full size car when what they rented me was a subcompact!

Comment: I rented a Hyundai Santa Fe and this car had the worst smell and it was dirty. The ground wasnt vacuumed and the interior was dirty. The smell was so bad that I had to go buy an air freshener. Before returning the car and cleaning it out I pulled down the backseat to find that there was some sort of sauce dripping down middle seat and stained in the cup holders. The car served it’s purpose and took me to and from where I needed to go but for the price it would be nice to know that the car has been cleaned up before you drive it, especially during Covid-19.

Comment: The deferred a billing issue back to the Budget LAX, while LAX told me it had to be dealt with at the time of turn in. Customer service / owners obviously hate their job - rude attitude with a lack of any type of motivation to assist you. Enterprise has never let me down and even goes as far as to look for the best deals or not charge you 2 days for a 26hr rental, whose origins quote was bait and switched from the get go. Try another company if you are able to !

I complained about it to the manager and he said the car tires were in good shape on top of that he charged me two days for a car that was just parked one day in my house i didn’t used it for my own safety. Comment: Rented a vehicle at LAX Airport, drove to Visalia. Had to deal with a blind spot when looking over the shoulder, changing lanes, for 200 miles. Went in to the local Avis/Budget office, explained the problem. They could not have been nicer, took care of me immediately, made sure everything was okay. Thanks Visalia Avis/Budget team!! I highly recommend this location, fantastic customer service.

Comment: I checked out this car rental place because of the high reviews. However, my experience was bad. I went in person to reserve the car a week ahead of time. I needed to make sure I had a car for an event I was attending. The man at the front desk took my information and told me to simply bring a utility bill, debit card or credit card and thats it. I called numerous times to the location after this to make sure I didnt need to have any other requirements besides my cc and the money in the bank and bill statements verifying my address. The day I went to get the rental he told me he would need to do a credit check.I dont have credit. I dont use credit cards or like getting into debt by choice. I like to pay purchases in full with cash. I was very upset because he didnt tell me this the week before or when I called numerous times. I let him run the credit check, because I needed the car for an event this weekend. It was horrible! He looked at me like really. As if to make me feel inferior. Bad service!!! My parents always go to rent-a-car enterprise for car rentals, but I decided to try a new place. My mistake. I went to rent-a-car enterprise and they helped me get a car that same day without reservation. I expected more professionalism and courtesy from budget car rental because of the reviews. The man at the front desk should disclose all information that is needed not just what is convenient or wait until the last minute.

Only for this guy to swipe my card and tell me my credit didnt pass. I mean what the fuxking hell. I have rented from Hertz way more expensive. But my debit card credit score did pass and took my payment. I dont think these people even try what the hell. My bf goes in there argues to the lady who tells him you do we make the reservation. The front window was extremely dirty from the interior of the car. The floor of the car was dirty and there was food and trash in between the seats. The stinky b.o. smell inside the car was so bad I couldnt take it on the trip I had planned with it.

Comment: I will NEVER rent from budget again !!!1) The people are super nice, but we booked online, there was a mistake on budgets part, on our destination return vehicle. We asked for the equivalent vehicle that were had to our vacation destination. It was a much smaller vehicle. Our luggage did not fit. Rather than argue at a jet lagged, sleep deprived state (1a.m.), I paid in hopes of clarifying their mistake upon my home arrival. No such luck. Lots of kind smiles, but no clarification on their business end.Thus, my only option is to deal with some corporate operator.2) This one made me really angry..... after paying my bill, I asked for a ride home(8 miles across town !). NOPE ! I was told it was against corporate policy. They stated they were only allowed to give a ride up to 1 square mile. So.... I took the ride of 1 mile towards my house. The funny part is I had one of their workers give me that ride in his personal vehicle(a mini cooper). No bueno for a chubby guy like me. ... I suppose they dont think there is a liability factor having an employee give a customer a ride in their personal vehicle. At least he dropped me off at the bus stop ! Lol.... The moral of the story...? Dont skimp on a few dollars, go to Enterprise or Hertz car rentals instead.

Comment: Long wait at initial vehicle pick-up, unknowledgeable staff at counter, banged up car, office smells like marijuana and is FILTHY (just like between the seats in the car, which happens to smell like smoke), rental is overpriced and then they have the nerve to spring a $100 credit card hold AFTER already charging your card for the rental. If you choose to put the $100 hold on your debit card they have to run your credit. The employee at the counter thinks its a soft hit to your credit; I was not informed of this when I reserved and paid online. BTW, if you pay for GPS, you dont get a car with GPS, you get an actual old school GPS that sits on the dash.

I ended up at Avis/budget Rental and in 30 min I was on the road with a vehicle that fit my need and my budget! I experienced amazing customer service from all staff. There were no hidden fees, no one tried to get me to pay for things I didnt need, they treated me like family! I will never go anywhere else!

Comment: Avoid like the plague for moving truck rental. I was overcharged by $60 and it has taken 4 visits and 10 phone calls to try to get my money back, they have promised a refund 3 times. Ive never had an issue with Penske. THE LOCATION DOES NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONE, and does not call out to Budget either to settle disputes. Bad, bad, bad. Also when I first went in, I waited in line for 30 minutes to talk to only one cashier.

This morning we were renting a car and the blond lady in the front did not let us rent a car with our visa or debit card when the policy in budgets information states you can use a debit card... Which we have used before months back when we have rented from budget. Now we are going to be late to the wedding we need to attend just because the lady in the front wasnt accepting anything...both ladies obviously were not on the same page. Comment: I rented for one day. Got a great rate, great car. It was easy inexpensive, and i didnt have to draw blood, put my houdmse up for sale, or sacrifice any animals. Like at some of these other rental companies. They were prompt, courteous, polite. I will definitly do business woth them again.

Comment: The absolute best! After doing quite a bit of shopping around for a rental, I found the best deal with Budget. I pre-paid, which saved me a decent amount of money. When I got there, the lady happily gave me options and great advice as far as comfort and gas mileage (we were taking a road-trip out of state). When I returned the car, the lady noticed that the timing I had originally put during pre-payment, (which was done online) was off and refunded me for what I did not use. She totally did not have to tell me and I would have never known! This tells me that they are trustworthy and truly look out for their customers!

Comment: Dave and Christina spoiled me by going above and beyond to meet my car rental needs over last three years. I have not and dont plan to rent cars from anywhere else if I am renting in Visalia. I have recommended my friends and co-workers to rent from this Budget Rental place and they were satisfied with the services and the value provided. I received free upgrades from them many times. Due to my frequent renting (1/2 times a month) they try their best to give me the kind of cars I like. So far this is the best car rental place.

Comment: I frequently rent cars from Budgets Visalia location for business travel. David, the local manager, and his staff are helpful and knowledgeable. They always seem to be looking for ways to make my experience better. Most recently, I rented a car because mine was in the shop. I told David that I was considering buying a new one. He asked what kind of car I was considering, then walked with me through his inventory to pick a car for my trip that is similar. Very helpful. He then gave me a free upgrade. The car was nearly new, low miles, very clean, and my rental price was very good. This experience is consistent with many I have had at this location.
