Comment: I just rented a car from Budget and found that the following morning I had a low pressure warning light. I found out that the tire was leaking because I could track its pressure using the dashboard display. When I talked to the customer service agent, they were able to give me a refund that more than compensated me for the effort of having to fill the tire both days of my rental. I appreciate their desire to please me as a customer.

Comment: Was flying in on Friday (Veterans Day) and was informed on their website that they were closing at 1pm. Tried all week to get ahold of someone at the Redding location to see if I could make arrangements. They would not answer and all my attempts (over 50 times) were forwarded to a call center located outside the US, they informed me to keep trying because I was calling during the hours the Redding location was open and someone should answer, which would avoid the calls being forwarded, never happened. This location has a reputation of very limited hours, they are only open 9-4 and they do not come in to accommodate later flights. They are really losing out on a lot of revenue and are doing a disservice to the flights that come in after 4. I had to take an Uber when my flight came in and take a hotel shuttle to pick up a rental there the next morning. Super inconvenient and not customer friendly. It’s a small town, but you could at least answer your phone and attempt to make arrangements for those customers arriving after 4. Redding can do better.

Confirmed my flight and times. I arrived. No car, no keys, no help! The security guard said that it happens with budget at the Redding airport almost every day. Horrible company!!

Comment: It is ironic that this company is called Budget. The car was expensive. The thing that is really lowering their rating is they raised their price when I choose to check out. I was flying into Redding Municipal Airport. Budget appeared to be the only rental car company there. (I was wrong about that. There was Avis and one other) When I was searching the internet for a good price, their estimate was about $250. However, when I went to check out, They added all sorts of unrelated charges. I think the total was about $350 for 3 days. They were expensive. The car itself was good - Honda Accord. It seemed to be a little bit old for a rental. I am guessing it was 1.5 to 2 years old. However, it was clean and ran well.

She even had me personally check the fuel gauge for fullness, which I appreciated as Ive been scammed by other rental agencies. The drop off at the Redding airport was just as smooth. We were met with professionalism and courtesy! We will use Budget again.

Then she told me that liability insurance was $29 after she added $35 for fuel. She was very rude and didnt have a name badge. Got to San Jose to drop of the rental that cost me over $200 for one day and the gentleman found the the gas was added and the vehicle was checked in already. 😡 Thankfully someone with integrity fixed it for me. I never experienced anything like this using budget. The Redding airport is a joke and the rental car companies should consider a different location and better employees.

Comment: Was looking to rent a car around 8pm when my flight got in. Cant get ahold of anyone in the actual office there so I was redirected to their national services. Since it was after there normal pickup hours they were going to respond within 72 hours if they could do it or not. A week later no response. Called again and the national line had no idea what I was talking about and offered to give me the number to another rental place. Ive been to airports in smaller towns and showing up for 15 minutes typically isnt an issue apparently for Redding simply responding is too much to ask for.

Comment: You would not give me a weeks worth of money back when I found out my car was out of the shop so I did not need the rental car. Paying online should not be a punishment. I did not pay any of my bills for one month because the rental took all my Soc Sec and my home and credit at risk because....you dont do refunds online. TERRIBLE cust svs for online customers. Had my daughter do this for me online when I broke down, we had NO rental cars in the area but Budget had one come back from the airport. She booked it to ensure I had a way to get to work! Had no idea the auto shop would change things and put me as a priority and get my car done a week early.

Comment: I rented a car for a week while my car was being worked on. The expedia site said if i rent through budget then it is ok to cancel without being charged for it. I didnt know when my car would be ready so I rented a car for a week through the only budget in town. It was due back on 1030a on 4/20. at 730am I began calling the auto repair shop to see if my car was ready yet. No one got back to me or answered the phone. By 10am I still didnt have an answer about whether or not my car was fixed yet so I went online to rent a car for another week and put down the pick up time as 1030am because that is the time I was returning the rental car I had. Then I headed to budget rental to return my rental and pick up a new rental. On the way to Budget the auto repair shop called and said my car was fixed and ready for pick up. This meant I wasnt going to need to rent a car for another week and so when I got to Budget to return my rental I told them I did not need another rental because the auto repair was finished on my car. The girl at the counter told me a number to call to cancel the reservation. When I called to cancel, Gabby, told me it will cost me $150 to cancel. I asked to talk to Gabbys supervisor. When I spoke to John he told me that I because I went to the Budget email to make a new reservation, instead of the Expedia email, that the OK to Cancel without being charged wasnt available. I responded that is ridiculous. Why would it be different on different sites unless the purpose is to gaslight Budget customers. He said I didnt cancel before 24 hours of the reservation time. I responded there was not 24 hours between the the time I made the reservation to the cancellation time, only about a half hour. There was not a 24 hour period of reservation to cancellation. I should not be charged for the cancellation. At the end of our conversation John told me that he would not charge me for the reservation or the cancellation. Now I see that the charge has been made!!!!!!

Comment: Friend rented car so we could travel from sac to Redding to pick his truck up. We were going to take both cars back to Sacramento because cheaper to round trip vehicle than 1 way ironically. Unfortunatly this am, he had a terrifying seizure, convulsing and choking. Ran to his bed, got him on his side and called 911. Paramedics took him away. I knew I wouldnt feel comfortable having him make the 2.5 hour trip back in a car by himself, so took car to local budget at the Redding airport. Once i explained situation, representative was understanding and waived some penalties, but i did get dinged for not filling tank. Which i completely understand. Its a mixed bag with budget as a company, but have found that all of their reps seem to care about providing great customer service

When calling to pick up the car from your company, 1st you charged way more per day than my reservation and your staff wouldnt budge on the price. 2nd, your company sent me to 1 location that when I arrived was supposed to be open, but was not. As a result your staff sent me to another location at Redding airport but couldnt tell me that your office was actually in the airport. So I arrived at your lot and had to search for your office as a result of your staff not knowing that in was inside the airport.

I will never use this company again and I will tell people the story of what happened. The cleaning price was way over-inflated. You have lost a customer for life. If I could give you a negative score, I would do so. Negative 2 stars, to be exact. Your company is a stink-poop operation.

Comment: Even though all other rental places were not accomodating, the Budget Rental Car at the Redding Airport was very accommodating. Would highly recommend them. I will want to interject one thing. We reserved our car through Budget on Churn Creek back in April 2018. Due to the Carr fire, this facility was closed the day we were to pick up our car. We went to another facility and got turned away. We were to leave that evening to start our vacation. With one last ditch effort, we went to the Airport. Thank heavens they were open and had a car for us. Thank you Budget at the Redding Municipal Airport. We wont forget your friendliness and helpfulness when all things were falling apart around us and around the Redding area.

Comment: Great Customer Service!The Clerk explained everything to me,prices etc and was understanding that the car I got had a front air dam spoiler hanging down a bit from the previous rental person.I took a picture of it when I got the car and showed it to the clerk when I returned it and he said no problem.Who ever had it last obviously hit a curb stop in a parking lot somewhere, but it wasnt an issue upon showing the clerk my photos of it when I Got it.Overall....I highly recommend Budget! I have had nothing but Great Experiences with Budget thus far and they are my go to company!

Comment: I have rented from this location numerous times over several years and have always been pleased - until now. I rented a car from them for a trip with my daughter. While returning home my windshield was chipped. Roadside assistance suggested that I have the nearest Budget officeassess the damage. The nearest office was Reno. Reno gave me a new car and when the question about the gas in the vehicle that was damaged came up they said they would waive the gas charge under the circumstances. When I turned this vehicle, with a full tank of gas, to Redding I was charged - including taxes $205 for the half tank of gas that was used with the car with the chipped windshield. I informed them that it was waived and they said no it wasnt and I asked them to contact Reno and they wouldnt. After a rather lengthy discussion and argument and yes I got very upset, security got involved. After maybe a half hour or more of this the manager finally told me that he would call on Monday AM and try and straighten this out. Why this wasnt offered in the first place I dont know. When I went home I auto-dialed the Reno office for 3 hours before someone answered. They told me that when I turned the car in they should have contacted the Reno office to waive the charge! Reno took care of the charges and I have a receipt from them, however, I was charged and additional $52 for I know not what. I would have made the rating lower except until now I have had very good service with the Redding office. As far as the chip goes - its been turned over to my insurance and who knows!!

Comment: Very poor service from the Budget Rep at the airport. Spent 15 minutes on the phone trying to rent a car and after going through all of the details on the car rental, he told me that he could not rent me a car because he was completely out. Was very disappointed at the lack of professionalism and courtesy to a potential customer.

Comment: The service is first rate and Jaime is excellent to deal with. The car rented was clean, comfortable and a great value. Ive rented from all car rental agencies, but find Budget to be the most accommodating. I will continue to use Budget for my future truck and car rentals.

Comment: This was my first time renting a car here. I had great costumer service and everything I needed to know was explained to me both on the phone and at the counter. I didnt get the car I wanted to drive but the customer service was more important to me at pick up and drop off.I recommend Avis/budget at the Redding Municipal Airport.

Comment: Car was nice, service awful. Had to buy oil and windshield washer fluid on 2 night trip. Told female agent when returned and showed receipts. She told me it wasnt her problem, they cannot top up anything at the airport, and she wouldnt refund me. All said with rude attitude.
