Comment: It was the worst service I had in my life, the lady who was at the Arcata airport today denied me a car rental because she said my drivers license was fake, she did an act of discrimination, she didnt care when every month January cars, he denied me the car and closed the window in my face of course I am going to report this lady

Comment: Has been RIP OFF ever time I’ve rented from this place! Arrive for rental and told that size isn’t available YET I can get a larger size at DOUBLE the price, no I want what I reserved weeks ago. Then sit and wait for hours. Cars are NEVER clean when picked up (has a sign saying water shortage and his facility location isn’t equipped with cleaning capabilities. Upon return he tries to say you smoked in car, nope non smoker. Then he tries to say car needs cleaning and a $250 pet hair fee?! WHAT!!! The last time I returned almost a day and half early, he is telling people sorry no cars available for their reservation, a lady had even prepaid. I spoke up and said I had a car I was going to return early. He checked me out, NEVER saying a word and said you are done go. I said I didn’t get a receipt, he says machine not working? I said I heard it print, finally gives me the receipt and he CHARGED me a different price and it was only a few dollars less then what the original price was, he states I brought the car back early he can charge whatever he wants, I said you NEVER said the amount changed give me back the keys and I will return it tomorrow, he refused said he is going to rent it to lady in line who needs a car. I said if you would have been honest and told me of price changed I wouldn’t have turned car in early. He didn’t care he said he had credit card. He has lost business as I use to rent once or twice a month. NEVER from him again.

Comment: At first, we lost hope in our road trip, but thanks to Budget, we were able to get onto the road. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We will definitely be renting cars from here from now on whenever we go on a road trip. Originally, we went to Enterprise, but they made everything a lot more difficult than they should have, and they kept giving one answer and then another. Overall I would recommend Budget if you want a cheaper price, a better car, a better staff, and a better car!

Comment: I called the night before, May 19, to Budget Rental to reserve a car for Saturday. I got a vehicle reserved and called the next morning an confirmed my reservation. I got to the agency about 35 minutes early.The woman at the window (she appeared to be originally from India or Pakistan) was surly as I asked politely to check if my vehicle would be ready. She said there was no reservation. I showed her two calls on my phone that matched her number. Now I was in distress because I needed the car I had reserved. She was mean and angry and rude and dug in her heals. A man with a turban appeared--a much nicer person and told her I had a reservation. She then said, O.K., you need a credit card. I pulled out my license and my debit card, both up to date. Now she had me, a wicked smile coming across her face and started telling me I would need utility bills etc. No one had said anything about another credit card. I have them but I often do not carry them because I do not need them and dont want to lose them. The woman was angry and she decided to take it out on me long before it was known that I did not have a second card. She could have accommodated me and found a way. Now I became extremely late for the meeting I had to attend. The disrespect and meanness of this person; the cold lack of humanity will keep me from ever using their service again. I recommend avoiding that place. People like her should not work in service industries. Shes be better off working away from people.Will

Comment: I ONLY rent cars here. The staff is extremely friendly and they always go out of their way to give you the best price on a car. They will even call me ahead of time if they are low on the type of vehicle I request and often give me free upgrades without even asking for them. I can’t speak highly enough about their integrity and great customer service! 🙌🏼🤩🫡

Comment: Okay so I rented a Chrysler Voyager Van.. it fit 7 .Drove amazing great on gas mileage, was about $110 a day was mostly clean but being that they are limited on cleaning their vehicles I would either spray or wipe down or both as I did find other items from the previous renter in the van..the rental place is inside the mall by Verizon in the back side of the mall so a little inconvenient and bathroom other side of mall. Also they arent open till 10am. Would recommend calling the main place not the reservation line.

Comment: Car was fine, check in was fine. However when I went to drop the car off they told me the car was very dirty and I needed to go to lowes to vacuum it out. I told them no I ordered an Uber already and they asked me to come back later tonight to vacuum it out?? When I told them I’m not from here they said okay the cleaning fee is $195?!? I’m sorry what? I’ve never been charged an extra cleaning fee. She charged me $35 instead ( thank god) but I’m still taken back with them asking me to go vacuum it? This is the car. Definitely won’t be going back there. God forbid I leave crumbs on the floor. 🙄

Comment: Rude staff, hidden fees they don’t tell you about and an automatic $250 hold on your car on top of the actual cost of the car. My car was missing the radio antenna so the radio could not be used. Will never use this place again.

They go out of their way for me (and my family) on a regular basis, and have come through in emergencies when we thought cars weren’t available. Truly the best place you can rent a car, the level of care is rare and unmatched. Very grateful to have them in Chico!

When I arrived to this location to return the car, the assistance was chatting with a customer about personal stuff, nothing wrong with that unless you are waiting on line. I had to ask him to walk out to check the car conditions, gas full, etc. The man was friendly but no certain what was next? Well the system was slow and they put in a different car, so he claimed that will call them to check and close my account, long story short I had to call customer service to clarify all this and request refunds and my account for this car still showing open (quite the nightmare renting a car with Budget over the westcoast)

Comment: We drive all the way from Oroville to get the car that we reserved. When we got there they informed us that we had to have a major credit card to rent a vehicle. There is no other option you cannot leave a large cash deposit.The gentleman there said he told me this. Im sure he did, since he does this every day. The problem is he has such a heavy accent and spoke so quickly I did not hear it.I am very detailed-oriented person. When I make travel arrangement I am very careful about the details. If this had been made clear to me I, obviously would not have wasted my time driving all the way to Chico.I also felt extremely rushed on the phone which Im sure contributed to this misunderstanding.

Comment: Mr. Singh is the consummate professional when it comes to renting a Budget car at this location. He always makes sure my criteria is met and that I am pleased with the car. He knows what the gas mileage will be (very important to me) as well as how much leg room there is (too small a car does not work for me). Since I frequently need a good sized trunk space, Mr. Singh finds just the right car.I was so unhappy with the Esplanade location that I was on my way to Enterprise, when a friend told me about the 20th street Budget location.The rep at the other place should take lessons from Mr. Singh.
