Comment: I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with a rental car company that I feel compelled to share. From the outset, the service was appalling, culminating in an encounter with a particularly rude and condescending attendant. Our dispute began over a gallon of gasoline, which, in hindsight, seems trivial but was handled with such disregard and unprofessionalism that it left a lasting impression.The attendant in question was not only dismissive of our concerns but also resorted to mocking and belittling us when we tried to explain our situation. It was clear from his demeanor and tone that customer service was the least of his priorities. To add insult to injury, this attendant decided to close the shop early, explicitly to avoid further interaction with us. This blatant disregard for customer service and basic decency was shocking. Now we are stuck paying for a crappy car for an extra night all because Budget store Ray Romano hates his job.

Comment: Do not rent a car from this agency - we had reserved a car 4 months ahead of our trip only to receive a call 2 hours before we we were scheduled to pick it up saying it wasnt available. They offered us another car, but it wouldnt have worked based on where we were going. We were left stranded at a hotel with two children and no option other than to scramble to find a new rental at the last minute. We ended up going with a different agency. I understand that things like this happen and it can be out of the agencys control if someone doesnt return a car on time, but the rudeness that I dealt with on the phone was completely uncalled for. The guy tried to compare me being stranded with two kids and having to scramble last minute to him having a bad morning at work. He talked down to me as if I was a child and when I asked if there was anything else they could do or try, he was like well I tried to give you the customer service number, but you didnt want it (meanwhile, all I had said was - are there any other options or things we could try). I was told by him and another agent when I called back that they would keep us updated and wed be the first people they would call when a car came in, but we never heard from them again. Use Enterprise in Anaheim instead - they were fantastic and helped us out last minute.

Comment: Beware of this place. The agent first tried to upgrade me to an F-150 pickup truck and then could not find any cars for me. Then he offered me a smaller car than I had reserved, only to find it was dirty. I finally ended up with the car I reserved, that he said he could not rent out because it needed an oil change. The car ran well but was very scratched up.

Comment: Had booked a car through Expedia, when I arrived I was told car has not been returned and there are no other cars available . The person I dealt with did not offer any solutions other than saying thats the way it is, tough luck. Being tourist in America we didnt have much choice than to change all our plans, I would never use them again.I was not offered another car, upgrade or downgrade or any effort to find a solution . The budget rep started talking to the next person after telling me with a smile that no car was available .

Comment: I was called by this company at 4:58 PM the night before I was supposed to pick up my rental car. While I was at Disneyland. They said they didnt have a car for me and that I was out of luck. It was 4:58 PM on a Friday. So Budgets customer service was closed. This lot is garbage. They didnt bother looking for a car or offer any help at all. The only way I found a car was by going through Expedia and getting another car through Budget about 10 miles away at the John Wayne Airport.

Comment: They dont inform you on any paperwork or contracts and they dont request authorization but they run your credit if you pay with a debit card. This is an FCRA violation and Ive reported the action to the CA DFPI.

Comment: They offered the best deal out of all the rest of the car rental agencies. I was looking for a sedan or economical car and they had a Kia Optima available. I took the Optima home and soon noticed that one of the tail lights wasnt working, I immediately called the place back and the representative told me to bring back the car and that he would get me on a different car right away. He gave me the option to upgrade it to something better (more expensive) at no additional cost as a form of apology for the inconvenience.He was very helpful and polite and would recommend this place.

Comment: I always have a great experience with budget Rent-A-Car. If I’m late returning the car, I can request a couple more days. I did have an experience with an all electric car that I was not too fond of it took 4 to 5 hours to charge and it was an Audi, six EV. But I did like the comfortable drive of it. I just did not have time to keep charging it to the maximum and even after five hours it still was not at 100% charge.
