He is a scam. Ripping people off for insurance from third-party reservations what a joke

Comment: Place need to be CLOSED DOWN. Made reservations for pick up at 4pm 1/19 to 1/23. Had email of reservation and confirmation on phone as well as they still said they see nothing on their end. Sketchy as ever and they will throw you hidden fees when you least expect it. Do not go here, enterprise is better in company. May be a bit higher but the service will always follow through, as well as compensation. They need to fire Monica and management and revamp a whole staff. I like Avis/budget and use it whenever traveling around Ca, but this one is a no go for me, and today just made it permanent.

Comment: Alfred is still so awesome! I remembered him from last year because he was so good to me. It was great to see his smile when I walked in. I used an online coupon so the rate was great. It kinda feels like I walk in, hand him my ID and credit card, and he tosses me some keys. They had so many cars and he hit the unlock button on the car and asked me if that one was okay. What a great experience. I dont know how anyone could have a single bad thing to say about this place. I love the Bay. This would have never happened in So-cal. THANK YOU ALFRED - You are the best!

Comment: This place charged me $375 for 1 extra day due to their website giving me the wrong closing time of the return store. I rented from the San Diego airport for a one way rental through Costco Travel. Just a warning that an employee told me, they give you their worst cars on one way rentals, so get the insurance on the car. The car they gave me was dirty, had a chip in the front windshield that was hard to see. One tire had a leak and I had to keep stopping to fill the tire and shortly after I left the airport, the oil change light came on. I am sure they would have tried to charge me for that too. I had the insurance so they couldnt. I called their customer service and it was a joke, no supervisor on duty that could talk to me and the original service rep barely spoke English. I repeatedly called any customer service number I could find and finally I found a young lady that reimbursed me to just a normal 1 day rental charge instead of the Ferrari price they charged me for a Ford box... NEVER AGAIN

The Second best thing was the wonderful 4WD Buick Enclave we rented to drive down South. That vehicle gets 5 stars in every way a vehicle should. A great experience all around. Comment: Searched around for great deals, and lowest cost, this was the best choice! Got the car I needed. I loved the Ford CRV I drove. Had a problem finding how to turn on the headlights. Please take an extra minute to explain the function of normal usage of lights, and wipers. Not every car operates the same. The lights were on the dashboard, not the blinker like my own car. The wipers worked the opposite direction from my Honda CRV, as I brought rain from Washington. So please remember, not everyone has every tools knowledge in their tool belt. And I love to drive, so help everyone get to their destinations safely. PCM

Comment: Please make sure you check Budgets policy for renting a car apparently its changed six people in front of us were denied a rental. From what I understand the credit card hold is double your rental cost to start with the first thing they do is a credit check. They do not take debit it has to be a real credit card Its super sucked to see so many people screwed because they had no car and the clerk had her hands tied but was not at all helpful I guess theres nothing she could have done. There were a total of eight people in front of me I was there two hours and started thinking I was going to be screwed also so please just due diligence before you plan a trip and end up with no vehicle

Comment: I reserved a truck over two weeks in advance and was called one hour before I was to pick it up and I was told they did not have a truck for me. Then when I called the national number, a manager said there was not truck within a 30 mile radius. He then began to quote me Budgets legal bull. This is the worst company and a horrible way to do business by overbooking rental trucks and leaving people stranded.

I called and spoke to Alfred who gave zero f*cks about the situation. He was very unprofessional and had zero intentions of trying to come up with a solution. Horrible customer service and your reservation/confirmation means nothing so stir clear of this location!

We rented a car for a few days and everything started off great- we extended another few days and Alfred said that it would be for the same daily rate. When we showed up to return the car, he presented a bill to us about $150 higher than what we were expecting. After a lot of back and forth, he finally honored the deal he offered us initially. I would probably not have bothered to write a review if that were where it ended, but then three weeks later we got a surprise $479 fee (almost as much as the car rental for the week). No explanation, no heads up. I called into the main Budget office and they said it was for a cleaning fee.We had taken the car to the beach and our kids got a bit of sand on the floors (not a crazy amount). My wife and I actually asked him to come out of the office and look at the car and asked him if we should go vacuum it out. He looked it over, said that it was fine, no problem, and that we were good to go. My wife even told me that I was being over the top but I wanted to make sure that we were totally settled up.All I can say is that Ive been renting cars on occasion for almost 20 years and I have never had anything like this happen. Enterprise has been nothing but a great experience, and I havent had a bad experience with Budget before this. It all comes down to this particular business owner- trust me, stay away.

The employee there was quite dismissive and a little on the rude side. He didn’t have any cars available, which is understandable. We ended up going to the Budget in Napa Valley.

Comment: Monica at the front desk was extremely rude from the first interaction on the phone when I called to confirm my reservation. At the time of arrival after waiting 25 mins the interaction with Monica was upsetting due to the fact that she made the process a lot more difficult then needed. After receiving the rental, I noticed multiple charges on my account that weren’t authorized and when I brought it up to Monica she denied that she had anything to do with the charge and told me to dispute it with my bank and refused to look into the situation at all . Overall I was disappointed with the entire interaction/transaction, not to mention the car I was given was dirty/dusty in the interior & even had previous renters belongings in the car. To top it all off the car odometer was constantly notifying me that maintenance was required. Definitely won’t be returning to this location if Monica is behind the counter

Comment: We had a U-haul situation fall through at the last minute (due to a power outage) and needed a truck immediately. We rented one by phone and were told to pick it up at this location. When we showed up, several other clients were there, all having rented trucks a variety of ways.There must have been some cyberspace anomaly, because there were not enough trucks for the amount of customers. A very nice man named Alfred was faced with a customer service representatives worst nightmare.He managed to deal with each customer calmly and respectfully and send us all away with a vehicle that would get the job done that we needed it to do. I was incredibly impressed with how well he handled a situation that could have easily turned into a disaster.

Comment: Been here 3 or 4 times now and its awful every time. I told her no to all the optional add-ons as it was supposed to be a government rate rental. Got my paperwork and asked what the 40 bucks in additional charges was all about before I signed. She fudged the rate to get me a cheaper price but HAD to add the extras to get that price...I told her I wouldnt be reimbursed for extras and that this was supposed a government rate rental for my crew and the price jumped from 99 to 175 a night plus tax! I use the Enterprise on base whenever possible but they close earlier...

Comment: Everything with our car rental was fine until after the fact when they charged us $25 for going through one toll during the 10 days that we had the car. They were very up front with their cleaning fee and smoking fee but failed to mention how they charge you everyday a fee for the toll usage. Because we used the toll pass once they automatically charged us a fee for 5 days plus the amount of the toll. It felt very sneaky and manipulative that this was not mentioned when we picked up the car. They also refused to refund.

Comment: Im turning in my car tomorrow (knock on wood) and theyve been great. I read many horror stories (about Budget), and I was very cautious and stand offish at first. I picked up my car from OAK intl. airport, then I drove it to Travis Afb for on base duties. I did most payments online, and used USAA for ample discounts. Unless they try to scam me after I drop off the car (after hours), then Im a satisfied customer. I had the same car for approx. 40 days.
