Comment: Terrible service, I rented a truck from Sacramento to Merced, its my first time moving out of the city and renting a truck, which this location in Merced gave me the worst of my experiences and here a tall African-American woman when I get there is serving someone. Her son, approximately 3 years old, in the place, the child opened the customers pocket bag, well, she moved to grab the child, returning to tend to the customer, which was not my problem, the problem was when she helped me, she grabbed the keys and didnt say a word, she went out to the parking lot and me and my daughter followed her She looked at me with an attitude and said why are you following me? stays inside. My daughter replied, You need to talk more. When she returned inside to the waiting room, she started yelling at my daughter so much I was Olmost call the police because I was thinking she was a danger person how she was acting . She hit the desk screaming super loudly and her son in her arms looked at her scared and screamed. Her son had the keys to a rental car in his hands and waking around when she put the truck in. She put her son in the truck without any protection and she drove inside. The truth is. Its not my fault that her son stresses her out at work, its the worst. Place from dropping off the rental truck hope this place dont get sued for extremely dancer with kids and crazy people working there 🤷

Comment: Don’t go here, I called to make a reservation and they told me to make it online which I did. After I made my reservation online I drove to the location just so they could tell me that it wasn’t available. Why not just tell me that on the phone? Or online ?!?!? I just wasted time, I was better off going with another company that would tell me right away if it is available. I am never using this company again, save your time, go somewhere else.

Comment: I normally rent from enterprise but on this particular day Budget was open later so I went ahead and made a reservation. Everything was great until I arrived at this Merced location. When we arrived we checked out 3 possible suvs we liked. When we went in however, the lady said she doesnt have anymore vehicles for rent. We told her and shared with her our reservation. She still insisted she had over booked and she had nothing. She told us that the suvs parked outside were reserved. We told her we have a reservation. She still insisted she had nothing to rent for us. It was obvious this lady did not want to rent us a vehical. Maybe its because my wife was of a different race or I was a different color or maybe even that she was not understanding that we had a reservation for one of those suvs. I dont know. We didnt want trouble. This lady who said she was the owner gets a big fat 0

Comment: I am so apperiactive of her service. Shes always been super helpful n willing to work with all my needs that need to be met. Ifneeded a extension she was more than willing to do so. Ive been using budget for quiet some time now almost goin on a year n i will continue to use this place for years to come. Thank u for all the hard work n terrific customer sevice.

Comment: Im not sure why theyre negative reviews because I had a very positive experience here. The car was perfect. The only problem is I had to wait a little bit for it to finish getting cleaned out. But I had no problem with that, nowhere to really go. Customer service was good. They are open on Sundays which is very important to me. It was in a convenient location, close to the train station, close to the freeway, and close to motels. I definitely would rent here again. And also the price was right.

Comment: In disbelief that after having rented 24 vehicles (within a 8 month period) with absolutely wonderful customer service that upon a change of ownership/management, not only was my personal vehicle towed from their lot, but I was called a liar as well. I have always left my vehicle parked in their lot while renting one of theirs, however today, I showed up to return the rental and I was told by Angela that she had my vehicle towed. It cost me $500.00 to get it out of the tow yard. What a great way to show your most loyal customer(s) how you appreciate their business. Angela stated that I told her I would be picking up my vehicle on Sunday by 6pm. I would not have told her that due to renting a vehicle from a Friday thru Thursday. If I could have picked up my vehicle on Sunday I wouldnt have needed to rent thru Thursday. So not only did I pay almost 200.00 for the rental, but $500.00 for the tow. A total of $700.00 to rent from them for a day short of a week. How do you tow your paying customers vehicle? Just ask Angela... Ive filed a complaint with corporate, Expedia, and Costco, as those are the entities Ive booked through.Negative stars! Had to mark at least one to post

And when I asked for my license and card back ripped up the paper and said here you go and rudely handed them back I will never use this company for another rental car.

Comment: Horrible rental place. Back seat belt didn’t work told manager before I left and all he said was going to note it down what about my safety and my passengers safety unbelievable. No discount and I was charged 27$ I didn’t know about until I returned the rental. Save yourself some time and rent some where else

Comment: I wish I could give this dump NO stars. First off they gave me a car that looked like it had been in multiple accidents the whole driver side door looked like it had been smashed in and never fully repaired. I needed to rent a vehicle because my vehicle was in the auto shop after a accident I didn’t know how long I would need a rental for so the guy told me to book for a week and that if I didn’t need the car that long to just bring it back when I was done and I would be refunded the difference. Today I bring the car in and they refuse to honor what they said and instead tell me they don’t do refund on cars the have been pre-paid for the week. Then doubled the daily rate of the car which was $26.00 to 47.50 per day. These people are thieves and it’s funny the car repair shop warned me about them but I didn’t listen and now screwed out of money! Please don’t be dumb like me and use these scum bags, save yourself money and hassle and just go to Hertz!

Comment: We had a reservation for a 16’ truck we go to pick it up and they say they don’t rent moving trucks but it is a budget moving company. What is worse we were there just a few days before to ask if they had a car tow that we can rent as well with our truck and they said nothing about not renting moving trucks.
