First I paid for the room for my son. I live an hour away so my daughter actually went to pay for the room. She was told to pay a $25.00 deposit that would be lost if someone smoked in the room. She told me the room already smelled like stale smoke. I told her to go tell the front desk. She refused because the gentleman was rude to her already. He kept cutting her off, etc. So, I put a bad review on line. My son went to get his deposit in the morning. They refused his deposit stating it was because of the bad review. So I called to find out why. The gentleman started asking about the bad review. I tried to explain. He went on about some girl (someone trying to get a key to the room after my daughter checked-in) and how rude she was. I had to explain that wasn’t the person I explained in the initial review that said he was rude. He cut me off several times during the conversation. Then he changed his mind and indicated the deposit was kept, because someone smoked in the room. I explained no it smelled like smoke prior. I told him we were a non-smoking family. He insisted my son smoked in the room. I’ve since read other reviews, it seems this is a little scam this place has pulled several times. Buyer beware.
This place was an extreme let down. We could not find another place with vacancy and now I know why. The room was less than clean, dust so thick on the entertainment center it looked like a small blanket of fuzz, the carpet was from the 70s and looked like that was the last time it was vacuumed. No tissues, no garment bag, the fridge barely kept anything cold and was dirty, I had to wipe it out before I could put my bottled water in it. The towels and wash clothes were very hard and stained. I washed them in the sink before I would use them. The carpet between the room and bathroom was held down with duct tape. The tub had cigarette burns down the side (this was a non-smoking room). The bathtub was stained and did not look to be cleaned in a while. I then also cleaned that and had to lay a towel in the bottom to stand on. There were certain places where the baseboards were absent. The beds were neatly made however the pillows were badly stained (thank goodness I brought my own). The air unit took forever to cool and was noisy. Now, on a better note the desk attendant Dan was very pleasant and helpful. I also have pics to back this up.Not just being negative, I strongly suggest if you can find another place to stay, do so.
Unfortunately I was NOT happy. The heater in the room not working, when told owner he was indifferent. Besides cobwebs all over the room, dirty carpets and vent fan not working.... set off smoke alarm with STEAM??!! I will find somewhere else to stay my other two nights in town.
Place is smelly and a lot of people live in the hotel rooms. They give you the wrong key to your room and you open up someones home.....
Just nasty broken crack pipe not even cleaned up.....No bed bugs from what I seen in my room but I have heard they are infested but like I said I havent seen any personally
This place should be condemned. First room was filthy and smelled so badly of cigarettes. Asked for new room. Although this room appeared nicer we were sent to a dirty room. No cleaning done. Bed not even made up. Trash in room. I was given the excuse we were really busy this weekend. Really!?!? Not my problem! Maybe consider a new profession. Not sure how they were even busy. You couldnt pay me enough money to sleep there! Shame on me for not checking the reviews before attempting to stay there. Also, if youre going to have the Review us on Google sticker on the entrance window to your business, I recommend you actually take some of these reviews and advice and FIX YOUR BUSINESS. Ended up getting our money back after getting the runaround.
Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. The staff was friendly and very informative. A continental breakfast served from 6am til 9am, .we had fresh cooked waffles,Cereal ,juice and Hot coffee. The price of the room was very reasonable. I would recommend this motel to family and friends..
The hotel is outstanding from the check-in to the checkout. The room was amazing. Atmosphere breathtaking. Decor, sites, location, amenities....... Beside that; the prices are so decent, all exceeded my expectations. It really worth 5 stars. I recommend it to everyone and will return again.
This was the worst place I have ever stayed. The one star is because the desk service was nice. The room was filled with cigarette smoke smell. The door jam was broken and looked as if the door had been kicked in. The door didnt lock properly. There was a large hole in the wall. It was filthy... I reached out to the company and they didnt respond to my inquiry (I was not surprised.) If you are wondering why I stayed, it was after midnight, we were exhausted, and there was nothing else nearby.

Do not stay here. It is not what it looks like in the pictures. Rooms are disgusting, holes in the walls, spider webs everywhere in rooms, and no refunds after you check in. So I happily chalked up the $50. You literally couldnt pay me to sleep in a place like that.Staff was super nice and seemed like good people but I still couldnt bring myself to lay on that bed.Check Best Western in Birch Run, its so much more well kept for just a lil bit more $$
Wow you guys are harsh. Ive stayed there and the room was clean and the staff was kind to me and my family. I had no issues...I didnt see any bed bugs, roaches, or hookers. If you werent satisfied with youre service then all you had to do is talk to the owner but to be mean and lie is wrong. The owner is very nice and the staff is nice as well. This place is a good place to stay and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Checked in around 9pm. The staff, Joshua specifically was super sweet and helpful! Definitely a good crew. Checked the room, the beds were clean and comfortable, room was chilly but heater warmed up real quick! Definitely will be back for the jacuzzi room (;

We paid over 300 for 1 week had no hot water couldnt watch TV the guy who i was always having the pleasure of speaking with was very unpleasant... our door had a draft and we had a stream of water coming from the roof right outside our door... will NEVER return...
Took the wife there for her Birthday this past Thursday 12/28/2017. Paid for the Jacuzzi room. Room 101 at the Cost of $110 per Night. Room was Dirty in General, Bedding had assorted Stains on the Top blanket. Cobwebs were in most of the corners. The tile in the jacuzzi area was badly chipped and broken on the floor and around the tub. The caulk and grout all the way around tub was peeling and patchy and obviously not scrubbed and cleaned recently. Back side of bathroom door and trim on other side of bathroom door both had what appeared to be blood or some kind of other bodily fluid that had been there for awhile and never touched to be cleaned. Went to front office and was told i could contact management tomorrow morning but nothing else they could do as far as returning my money then and there. We got there at 7 pm and by 9 pm my wife was in tears about the conditions so we turned in the key and left and have not recieved a response as to a return of funds.
The staff on 3rd shift is rude. Lets any old thing go on in the business. My vehicle was broken into in the parking lot. I dont think the restaurant or bar hooked to it ever even opened the whole weekend that I was there. I would never go back . I paid 200$ a night and felt like I would have been better off going down the street to crack hotel .
Horrible experience bed bugs and had to lose all our stuff they refused to replace our clothes or even make them usable again... we had to choose between scalding hot water or freezing cold water for showers because of being in a handicap room... Our TV never worked and when we asked we were told none of the tvs worked in there... our door had a gap in the top of it and there was a steady stream of water coming from the roof right outside of our door... there was steady shady traffic in and out of there at all hours day and night... will NEVER go back...
Sam! You cant charge $109 to stay here plus another $50 cash deposit. You currently only have 2 sets of stairs currently, the ice machine upstairs doesnt work and all the rooms dont have chain locks for the doors.
Yes im positive ppl hanging out all over the balcony.Covers and linen had lots of cigarette/Blunt burns in them. The fan cover over the toilet fell off on me and daughters head twice. We stayed in rm 110 right next to the office
Ive stayed here a handful of times over the past 3 years. Just like other motels they have things that could be better. If your looking for the holiday inn atmosphere for $55 then your in the wrong place. If your looking to rest your head on clean linens and no bugs then this is the place. The owner and his gf are really nice and have to deal with all types that come in there. When given the chance you can see they are just like other hard working individuals trying to make a honest buck out of 15 cents. And like all other motels....if you dont want the nightlife that stays there then ask to be in the front if available. Ive stayed at 100s of hotels/motels and the Riff Raff will always be where the traffic isnt.
Let’s see, were to describe my experience. Upon check-in I was informed that my reservation had been accidentally canceled by a trainee and the room was given to someone else. I was asked if I would take the next available room which was on the second floor. This being my only choice I accepted. Climbing the steps was difficult since I have a disability which requires me to use crutches to get around. The motel has no elevator and the stairway was the only access to the second floor. Upon trying to open the door someone yelled out the room is occupied. I had to go back down the stairway to the front desk and informed the trainee what happened. Shortly after the manager arrived and he was the one using the room. He was sorry for what happened but I have to understand that the trainee didn’t know.In addition my room was being paid for by an organization and all of their information was reportedly lost with the accidental room cancellation. I had to charge to room to my own credit card and work out arrangements to be reimbursed by the organization.I was given another room this time on the first floor. The room was more than dated, appeared dirty, there were burn marks on the carpet, and holes in the bedding. The room had no handicap features which made it difficult to go to the bathroom, much less get a shower. In the morning I woke to find a bed bug crawling across the bed near my face. I killed the bedbug, woke up my wife and told her we were leaving as soon as possible. As she was changing I checked her bed to find bloodstains on her pillow from what appeared to be bedbug bites.At checkout I informed the front desk about the bedbugs and the incident that occurred the night before. They said they were sorry and the rooms had been checked not long ago for bedbugs. I told them the methods appeared ineffective. I almost fell over when I was asked if it was only a couple of bedbugs or a lot. It would seem to me that wouldn’t matter how many there were. It’s still an issue either way.Based on other individual’s postings bedbugs in the rooms is not an isolated incident. Before I would ever stay in another motel I would check their reviews.I also complained about the room not having handicap features. I was told I had to request a special room with features for those with disabilities. I’m sorry but when you see someone struggling to get in the doorway on crutches you should be immediately concerned about their special needs. It appeared no one was truly concerned about the situation or any problems I had during weekend.
Just checked in.. terrible place, wish we could get a refund but once you pay you cannot. Its very dirty.. semon stains on our bedding, walls look to be falling apart, carpet is ripped and unclean, ceiling has a huge crack going through it.. disgusting room. Really not looking forward to staying the night here. When you check in the staff is behind bulletproof glass.. so Im assuming this is an unsafe neighborhood. Pray for my husband and me :(
Hard to find a place to stay that isnt in Flint. They do not accept dogs which was pretty disappointed since it was a low budget motel. I only tried staying here because I was exhausted from driving and was trying to stay close to davison. Im glad they didnt accept dogs it would have been a horrible stay. Drove to the holiday inn which was a nice stay for only a little bit more money which was worth it.
Stayed for a week, minor issues. Smoke alarm started chirping dead battery, changed in 20 minutes. No other problems. Clean room, fridge and microwave worked. I was nerous about staying there because of bad reviews but it was great. Bed was stiff, so what. Im trying to find bad things to say but i cant.Also: hot water; secure door, survaillence cams, daily housekeeping, cable tv, this place was awesome.
Cleaning was lacking. Vending machines arent great. Tv didnt work too well and not many places to plug stuff in if needed. Did have fridge and microwave!
Not a great experience. Could not make coffee because brewing basket was missing. There was not even one wastebasket in the room. King bed, but only one king pillow. There was a large tear in the blanket. Sink clogged. Drained very, very slowly.
Listen i dont understand why people give so many bad reviews, ive stayed here for 2 weeks since i had a lot of trouble in personal life and frankly this motel is the best ive ever stayed in noy to mention it is only 35 dollars a day if u pay a full week. They have a small breakfast in the morning and 24/7 for coffee. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and staff is professional and amazing. Do not listen to the bad reviews this place has been remodel and revamp. I am happy to stay here any time.
The motel room was smelly, the bath tub was dirty... couldnt use the shower... got stuck in the bathroom... there was a roach in the bathroom got bite up by bugs... i am utterly disgusted at the property and if it werent an emergency, i would have left... i wish there was some way to get my money back
They canceled a two month reservation. Specifically called them in the morning to insure our arrival. Canceled the reservation and sold our room without our knowledge by the time we arrived

Customer service was terrible.They was racial because we are brown African-American.They tried to hold us hostage because they had my credit card number they took all my money off my card and wouldnt put it back on until we called the police. The room was disgusting the sheets and towels dinghy and dirty. The bathtub had scum stains and grim . I will not refer anyone to this hotel and I going to report them to the Better Business Bureau
I was forced to stay here. I was driving an hour and a half to work the nightshift at the hospital and my car broke down exactly halfway there. I managed to get my car off the expressway and into the parking lot of the Burton Inn. I have never been to a hotel with better hospitality! I travel a lot for work and have been to many really great hotels with terrible hospitality. You guys are awesome!
Im staying in 224 its very cold in this room the heater is just blowing cold air and when its warm air it will only stay one for a short period n turn off and get cold again
Excellent Customer Service.. Very Clean and Cozy room.. Good working lcd/led tv with variety of channels.. Good working heat and air conditioning.. Nice clean bathroom with very hot water; everything works as expected.. King size bed with nice bedspread and matching curtains.. Good work desk with Mirror.. Microwave, mini fridge, and lamps all equipped with two 110 household outlets at the base with a single 5v usb port on each..Highly Recommended!!

I had to give this place some star BUT the stay was terrible. My husband and I came all the way from Indiana to visit family and to our surprise we Woke up the next morning and the room was covered in roaches. IN the shower my husband and I sleep with some which we discovered once we got out of the bed. Roaches on the walls all over the place. WHEN we told the front desk they just looked at us and saidwe will look into it AND then had the nerve to tell us that they had to check the room to make sure we did not tear it up or steal anything. YEAH RIGHT I WANTEDILUVIAN TO GET OUT OF THERE SO FAST THAT IS THE LAST THING THAT WE WERE THINKING 2. I WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN. Now when I get back to Indiana I have to make sure I did not bring any Michigan Roaches back with me.
Popular place with the locals and the U.S. Marshal Service for drug and human trafficking. Made a bet woth a coworker that the police would be there some point in the night. Less then 6 minutes later 2 cruisers out front arresting the crackhead in room 134. Had a great time staying there, it was the week before the 4th of july so we couldnt really tell the difference between gun shots and fireworks. All in all the room was filthy and i have stayed in rooms way cleaner in 3rd world countries, but we didnt get murdered or bugs so not bad of a stay.

I wish I could give negative stars.. thats how bad my experience was!! I GOT BED BUG BITES. My reservation through Expedia was cancelled by the owner/manager.. I was told there would be no charge.. then the card that was provided at the time of check-in was charged for my stay at the hotel WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE or APPROVAL.. i was handed an invoice with a zero balance and was told there was no charge. Later I realized a charge on my card under the name of Burton Inn & Suites. Then i looked further into everything and realize my reservation with Expedia was missing. Somehow the reservation magically disappeared and as a result I cant go to Expedia for help. So, I contact the hotel directly. WOW what an experience.. things are getting laughable at this point. The owner/manager refused to identify himself until I provided him with who I was.. I reminded him of the incident and he denied everything that I have summarized so far. He had nothing to say regarding his tampering of my reservation with Expedia. I prepay-ed for the room and confirmed the amount on my card prior to arriving at the hotel. Personally, I travel and rely on companies like Expedia to help with situations like these. This hotel went out of its way to avoid the rules established for Expedia to help. WORST PLACE EVERY... YOUD BE BETTER OFF AT A REST STOP ON THE HIGHWAY THEN GIVING THIS PLACE YOUR MONEY. KEEP YOUR MONEY AND BE BUG FREE.... that should be Burton Inns new moto!!

This hands-down was the worst experience I’ve ever had at the hotel ever my first room smelled like mold they obviously wasn’t clean towels are still wet all over the floor from the previous people that have stayed in the second room they gave me the air conditioner doesn’t even work so it’s super hot in the room filthy absolutely disappointed on all levels.

Good decent place to stay at love the comfortable blankets friendly staff
Needed to stay here and it was gross.dirty.cold.and holes in the blankets.at least there was coffee and half frozen pastries
It was a nice place just a little run down but had a maintenance man I saw.
This hotel reeked of urine the breakfast made me throw up and the room was old and dated anyone giving this place more than 3 stars must work at this nasty place
This place is a eye sore to center road in Burton. Needs to be closed and torn down.

2022-06-01If I could give negative stars I would!!! We arrive late at night but there were still many available rooms.Despite all the vacancies the desk receptionist tried 2 rooms to onlyveventually give us a broom and let us sweep up the mess ourselves. We were tired as we were on the road all day. The next morning I woke up late but I figured since housekeeping hadnt knocked id have time to shower and get ready. The desk clerk, I think he owns the place ended up charging me $10 for a late checkout. That was so unfair! I will make sure I never spend another dollar there and I plan on telling anyone who will listen to me about my negative experience and encourage them to go elsewhere if the Ty dont want to get treated this way

2021-01-04Hotel was disgusting. It was not clean, comfortable or safe. I got 2 rooms and was not given back either deposit. The guy charged me 50$ for deposit the night of check in (not a pending charge) but added it to my total and then claimed to have smelled cigarettes when I called 3 days later inquiring about the money. I do not smoke and did not smoke in the rooms. Whoever was working is a thief and I will not be returning.

2020-11-02Could have been cleaned a bit better like dusting and move things while vacuuming, some maintenance could be done making sure everything is in the right working condition and batteries in the remote for the tv. The first night was not the greatest people running around most of the night loud as can be and messing with peoples doors at 2 in the morning. Second night much quieter and better. Nice staff.

2020-02-23I stayed last week and was very impressed with the staff, cleanliness of the room, and over all atmosphere. Very quiet no nonsense hotel considering its literally 500 feet from the Flint border. During the day the gentleman that handles the front desk is very polite and at night the woman that handles the front desk is amazing! people that are giving the negative reviews theyre not keeping in mind the great rate that you pay for this hotel. And the rooms are in no way shape or form dirty or mold filled!

2021-04-02Rooms are decent, but they messed up my check out date and threw away the paper they had me sign saying my check out date was april 3rd. Also took a 25 dollar deposit and then a dollar deposit for a key and then refused to give me back my other dollar for the key. Also couldnt use a key I had to keep having the front desk person come unlock my door every time. Bad service.

2018-08-14First the lady at the front desk was very rude to begin with, there was mold on the bathroom floor, the comforter had a very large cigarette burn in it.We had to go to the office to ask for everything toilet paper soap washcloths and towels. The lady at the front desk proceeded to tell me that she was short of staff .I can understand them being short of Staff its a given,but when you know youve just rented out of room to people then you might want to make sure that that room has the necessary supplies for your customers.
