Took my Saturn outlook in for an oil change, Ive had this vehicle for a little over 3 years. When it was under warranty I took it in for 5 oil changes, cause the 3 months would arrive first before the 3000 miles. On the 4th of May I have an appointment at 9 a.m. to check the A/C unit I have had problems with the A/C unit since we bought the SUV, I told them about it they added some Freon and about a yr later I took it again and paid to have it fixed for a bit. That yr I went to the state of Wisconsin and the A/C unit stopped working. ALSO the steering wheel has movement I told them about it but they couldnt find anything wrong with it, I took it in for a wheel alignment to pep boys and was told about the steering wheel, I took back to JD Byrider and this time I was told that it would cost me 319 dollars to replace it. Other than that they do good work.
First giving honor to God because he made a way out of no way for me. I was in a situation where I didn’t see anything good less long a way out of my situation. The customer service the respect and the understanding that Phill, Marcus & David gave I would recommend JD Byrider to any day. I left with respect for the people who helped me, & I also learned and gained understanding. Bought my car little over a month ago. Having issues now, their willing to help but at my expense which I dont have! Should have known better😞 The manager needs to work on his people skills and not be threatening and rude. When its 90 degrees out, who checks the heat?? Dumb me, now I have a vehicle I cant put the kids in, so it will sit!!
I have had my car maybe 3 months and i have had more problems with it that any other vehicle I have ever bought would not recommend them to anyone. Update now it has been a little over a year and car jas causted me more money than the value of it dont waste your time or money with this place absolutely junk I give them a -5 star review
Just bought a newer vehicle today. The staff were all extremely helpful, professional and knowledgable. 36 month/36,000 mile warrenty takes much of the worry of buying a used vehicle out of the equation. Every question, every concern was addressed before any paperwork was mentioned. No pressure, no hassel. Reccomend them to anyone.
Knowledgeable, trust worthy, honest, hard working, kind, and efficient all words that describe every interaction I have had with the gentleman that provide services for this business. Professionals down to the very meaning of the word. No cheeky sales tactic, no outrageous bills, and the speed, effectiveness, and efficiency of the service department. I feel like family in this place and am treated as such. Will recommend heavily to anyone looking for a car.
As far as the two gentlemen that I interacted with actually three they were purely professional very nice and very accommodating.They were able to help me out in a situation that I was in and I am grateful for that.The only downfall is when I test drove the car it had not been driven so the engine was cold. the next day when I got in the car and had been driving it around there was fluid burning from someplace and a squeal under the hood.for a company thats supposed to be there to help you get back on your feet with credit thats what they advertised, I would think they would better check these cars over before somebody drives them off the lot.With that said you can form your own opinion but like I said the first two gentlemen I worked with were very very nice the last one was the lender and I just had contact with him to sign the paperwork.I took my car back and they fixed the issue. Everyone was very professional and got me in and out. Communication is key. I look forward to a great relationship with this companySo I took it back in and they fixed what they saw the issue was. I drove away and the squeal is still there. Called them back and took it in , come to find out it is the pvc intake. They told me they could fix it but not until April 21st , almost a month out. Hopefully driving on it for a month wont cause anymore damage !!Not very happy overall .
I do not even have words for how grateful I am that Phil at Byrider was able to get us into a car the same day. Went in around 11am was driving off the lot by 2pm ... if you have bad credit and not sure where to go, make sure you go talk to Phil at byrider, Im positive he can get you into something. They have in house financing, so the chances of you leaving in a new car is better then anywhere else. And I can not stress how awsome Phil was to work with! I would give them a 10/10!
Excellent service and management! From the financing to the salas manager. Dave and Marcus were great to work with! We drove away in our new vehicle in less than 7 hours from the time I submitted our application! Thanks so much to all of you at the Kalamazoo Byryder location!!!
This place is the worse place to get a car or deal with them at all everyone is rude and disrespectful. They could careless whats going on today Im literally struggling to keep up and sometimes I dont have my payment and a week extension wouldnt be bad. If you dont pay it they come and collect the car I owend 16 dollars on my last payment and he told me they are going to put it into collection. I Dont recommend this place to anyone. So what happens if you get Covid and cant work? My job requires us to take 10 days off work. Unreal!!! 😡😡😡😡
The best experience ever! The crew in the service department are the best. Honest caring people. I was very leery about purchasing a vehicle from JD but it was the best decision Ive ever made. My vehicle is well taken care of and having complementary oil changes helps keep you on top of keeping your vehicle in the best preforming shape! I recommend JD to everyone I know whose looking to purchase a new vehicle. I mean who wouldnt want free oils changes and an AMAZING warranty!?! Ive had a few serious things go wrong with my truck but the team down at the service department fixed my issues quickly and Ive only had to invest $120 into the tings that werent covered by warranty. Now what other dealerships have such amazing warranty available? I dont believe theres any whose warranty covers just about everything on your vehicle. Way to go JD Byrider! You guys are the best!!
Love this place when I first got the car.. as of day I feel different. Im almost done paying off the loan. The car itself is a good car I cant complain about that. But their customer service has gone down alot since they quote got new owners. They dont work with you anymore. They are rude when talking with them. My pay period has changed since Ive gotten the car. At first they worked with us with that and it wasnt ever a problem. Then one day out of the blue I get a nasty email and voice messages on my phone. How they are under new owner and they no longer work with you and need to pay up today over turn over car. So yea would I recommend this place to anyone anymore......that would be a big NO!!!Go somewhere else not because of the cars but to me it also has alot to do with customers service which they need to work on.
Further Update: I bought this car on 12/28/18 and today is 06/04/19 so I have had this car for 5 months and 1 week. In that time it has needed the following repairs: radiator replacement, coolant flush, transmission fluid flush, replaced transmission, engine mounts-TWICE, rear spring, ABS sensor, heater hoses and now it is in the shop to be diagnose for a possible catalytic converter issue. In 5 months! I would leave 0 stars if I could. Completely unacceptable. I have asked to be placed in a different vehicle and they are willing to do that. Save yourself a lot of time and money. Go somewhere else.I bought my vehicle from here and while I loved the car and the staff was friendly, something was off. Sure enough Ive had my car for a little only a month before it broke down. I had it towed to their mechanic shop Sunday night and it STILL hasnt been looked at yet...do not buy from this place.
This is my second vehicle through JD. The first experience was great, hence my return. This time the sales process was good although lengthy. What Im not as enamored with so far is their lack of follow up. Ive indicated a problem with my key fob/door locks at least 3 separate times so far, and each time am told well take care of that well have the service department contact you and it never happens. Heres hoping that improves.
I have never had a problem with this company. Friendly and professional. The extended warranty is a life saver. Warranted repairs at a very low cost. And they made sure I had transportation. While vehicle was in the shop. Also no charge for little things in the first year. CNAC. Knows me when I walk in, knows how much I pay, and are very friendly. If you need a car, have low or bad credit this is a good company to work with.
Very great team. I came in unsure of if I could be approved. I really didnt have any confidence that I would walk out with a vehicle because my credit history isnt the best. From the moment I walked in Angel and Brian treated me as if my credit score was 850. They were patient and tried everything they could to make sure I was taken care of. I definitely recommend this location to everyone looking to purchase a vehicle and needs a little help doing so.
Terrible. Very disrespectful. Nobody go there. Told me to come back in a month to show permanent job residence. Not only did they tell me to come back but when i did. Dave that i talked too the manager. Set up a meeting the night before and ended lying about the fact that he would be there and then passed me over to a collegue without informing me or him because he didnt want to deal with me because he assumed i wouldnt be qualified. He told me he would be there the night before on the phone and i was told that he had the day off when i came in and then the female banker was super disrespectful. Telling me that the commission job i have currently isnt good enough and that i should follow her daughters lead and work at McDonalds. If you dont make 1400$ a month like she said dont come here. Honestly i wouldnt come here period. They require 200$ minimum auto pay every 2 weeks and if you miss it by 8 pm on the day the cash has to come out your car will be gone the next morning and so will your hard earned money i was told by her. Nobody Go Here
Without a doubt, the worst sales staff, service staff and management all the way up to the owner. This company has sold us a lemon and refuses to do anything about it. They want to charge a ton of money to just look at the issue that it has. So, the car sat in the garage for months until I was finally able to figure it out and fix it myself. Every payment we have made has been on time and we asked for just a one week extension on this weeks payment, and was told by an incredibly rude staff member absolutely not, if we dont have it in by 8p then it is getting repod. For real?? Most of this country is in a financial crisis right now and these disgusting folks at byrider are willing to take the very means of acquiring the income needed to support a family, instead of waiting one week. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. and certainly dont give them a penny.
My experience with the maintenance dept has been very positive. They are courteous, professional, considerate and go above and beyond to assist their customers. I have recommended them to friends, co-workers and anyone who is looking for honest and reliable car service.
If you are not in dire need and can find a better place with less interest rate i do not recommend. Although Matt in the service department is wonderful he can only do what he is allowed. The cars are good for a couple of months a year tops and then you occur an abundance of problems that the warranty does not cover. The cashier has a nasty attitude and some of the fiance are just as worse.
My experience at J.D Byrider was great, the serivce manager Matt Hooper was the best, I had a $100 gift certificate but didnt quite cover the services I needed but they took care of it for me. They were very thorough but were quick with getting things done. If asked I definitely would recommend going to J.D Byrider for all my car needs.
While I wasn’t too thrilled to have to buy a new car with bad credit, JD Byrider has been easy to work with. Also the few repairs that were needed were fixed promptly and the car runs great. The only drawback is their hours of operation don’t really work with mine. But it all worked out.
Just got my 2nd car from byrider could not be happier I have dealt with the Lansing location and the kalamazoo location both have amazing people working for them both times they have got me into wonderful cars and I have had no seriously problems with my cars yet thank you guys again
I have had nothing but bad luck with this car lot. Always told one thing but never happens in the time they say it will. Broke down on the way home from buying a car the very same day. Was given what they called a better more expensive car than the 1st car I picked and now I have no car at all due to the motor being bad and its in their shop. I was told it would take a week and now we are ending the 2nd week. My biggest regret is that I didnt walk away from them when the first car broke down on the way home from the car lot
I am only giving this place 1 star because have to mark at least 1 to be able to post a review. This company isnt even worth an outline of a star. I got my car about a year ago and the HARASSMENT!! The day before my car payment is due they are calling me to remind me that I need to make a payment! They also send me email after email. I do not need reminders to pay my bills. Plus they asked me for 12 references and they use these people to not only solicit cars deal too but to call and ask if they have spoken to me about my car payments! I HAVE NEVER known a company to do anything as ridiculous as this. Not even one week after I got my car it was dying on me. I have had to go in and complain about my vehicle on 3 separate occasions when I know factually no one cared. And being a single parent mother I rely greatly on my car. My car is marked up 3 TIMES the Kelley Blue book value and I make high biweekly payments. After having my car car for a year I asked if I could get my payments lowered and was told no because I was late twice on payments. Ok I can understand that (not really) but paying 3 times the amount and being harassed as well and my friends and family you would think they would want to do everything to keep their customers happy. All I can say is this is a Bad company and if you need a vehicle look else where.
Went there.Said they could help.But since I didnt wanna floor my credit and buy the best car I could. They told me sorry we cant help you. Totally disappointed. They said they could get me driving but didnt even touch a computer to check inventory. Total bait n switch. Sorry they couldnt get me for a 7 year lease that I didnt want. But I cant get better credit with everyone telling me what I want.
Unprofessional. I received a supposed auto generated text and the sales rep refused to say their name and the business they represent. I was very interested in doing business with this company but the sales rep continued to avoid answering who they were. After a while they at least opened to what company they were representing but continued to avoid giving their name. No business from a professional standpoint would avoid giving this info. Further more I had to be snarky with this sales rep just to get some sort of a response. If this is how business is conducted at this dealership I will continue to contact all appropriate personnel until something is resolved
Daughters car battery was not holding a charge during winter 2017, so went to Auto Zone and bought a new one. This winter, same scenario. Auto Zone said it was the alternator so took it to Byrider...it WAS the battery. Car running and starting fine! Thanks JD Byrider!!! Got a new battery AND a much needed oil change...all at no charge to us!!!
People are always having problems with the cars they buy from here, and needing immediate repairs soon after purchase. They are also having to often bring their vehicle back for those needed repair that seems to be an ongoing thing and not being completely properly fixed.I myself am still going through problems with the car I purchased. In my experience I was sold a car that was not only having suspension problems, that was promised to be fixed, but also was filthy on the inside that was also promised to be reconditioned before I came back to pick up my new purchase, which I found wasnt done. I complained about it and then was told I bought it as is when I complained about the service not being done on the car I purchased. Although I was promised this service to be done before my purchase of the vehicle as an agreement to my purchase of vehicle, it wasnt honored and I was left with a car that had dirty nasty carpeting, dirty interior, stinky, and had stained seats but also rattled and pull in the front suspension, a gas leak in which they acting like they didnt know what I was talking about until I mentioned they sold me an unsafe car. I never expected to be treated so unfairly and a feeling of being used and taken advantage of for a salesmans and companies personal gain after hearing good reviews of them from a friend.I dont recommend this place to purchase ur next vehicle. I WILL NEVER buy another vehicle from them EVER!
The only reason I give this place 1 star is because its the lowest option. If you go here, expect to be sold a 10 year old car with more than 100,000 miles, and when it no longer runs, you will be treated like dirt if you dare question any ethics. Your on time payments mean nothing, and you can be acused of stealing when you tell them you will no longer be paying for a broken vehicle. Whos the real thief?
Worst car place EVER!!! Yes theyll help build bad credit but youll pay four hundred a month. Weve had our cat for 15 months. Its been in the shop 9 times and has had to have the engine replaced. Weve had to pay to have it fixed every time, but the problem hasnt gone away. And cnac, their finance department, charged us eighteen dollars 4 weeks in a row for collision coverage, even though were covered by insurance. Then they refused to to refund our money for their mistake. They are total crooks and you WILL get screwed by them.
There terrible, Ive been with them almost two years, made all my payments my car gets towed to there lot gets broken into my money gone and a 1300 dollar audio system. And they said they cant help me with anything not even fixing the window or dash. Theyre a scam I referred two people to them and I regret it and so do they
Sold me a PT Crusier. I should of never signed the papers. Same day I drove it off thr lot it overheated. Cracked manifold. I had the car looked over and it was only worth $ 4,000. Why the hell were they charging me $ 16,000. I gave it back. Im not paying $440 a month for crap!
The people at CNAC in Kalamazoo are very unprofessional, ghetto and have no customer service skills what so ever. They are very rude and ignorant. Having to deal with CNAC is the worst. I love the people at J. D Byryder in Lansing, but the people at CNAC are horrible.

2022-05-04Marcus was CLUTCH. My Jeep went out on me and JD Byrider took care of me. I got a Buick that I wanted in less than 2 hours. I have gotten 3 cars from Byrider and they’ve been understanding and great through the entire process. Highly recommended. Easily the best car company around

He showed a phenomenal interest in making sure He did everything he could, to get the approval, I needed, to drive away in my new car. He was very thorough. He explained every detail, to me, with patience and making sure I received the best, possible, treatment. Phil, you are a true gem. I also want to thank Markus, for making me feel so at home, and comfortable! And the car, the guys picked out, for me, was absolutely perfect! I love it. The whole experience was wonderful, and very professional. I just want to say Thank you, again, and well done! 2022-06-08I have loved the service I have received from everyone at Byryder. They are a good and upstanding business that stands by their contracts and agreements. Scott in the payment center always greets me with a smile and goes out of his way to be of help. Chris that runs the auto repair is quick in assessing things and getting back to me and staying in communication. I just want to add more praise. I just picked up my car today and Chris went above and beyond the original repairs. While he had my car on hand he utilized the time to do things that were not in the original terms. Even cosmetic touch up around my wheels with front mud flaps and tightening up some things that were a little loose! Thank you for everything! It was over and beyond what I expected! I’m on a disability leave from work and only getting limited payments and they were extremely helpful with helping me pay for the much needed repair to my windshield wipers on my car!!!! 2022-02-27They are not upfront about how much your qualified for and will try to get you the worst car on the lot. Im stuck with a car with no working windshield washer and basic FM radio. I asked to see several other cars but was guilt tripped to be be grateful that they were letting me test drive this one.

2022-04-25The only reason Im giving a 1 star review is because the first experience I had with this place was with a pushy salesman who didnt even listen to a word I was saying. His name was Phil. I was interested in a vehicle I found online, was located at the Lansing location. I asked him if they could have the vehicle brought down here, if not, no big deal, Ill drive to Lansing. He wouldnt even look to see if the vehicle was still available. He said he has 26 cars on his lot that he can sell me. I tried to explain I was interested in a particular one though. Just not a good interaction with this guy.
